Night of the Demons (1988)I watched this on TV last night. It is your typical low-budget, late 80s, teen horror movie. It is not great but I have seen far worse. Three things did stick out to me. 1) One of the teens is your cliche, typical greaser who is a punk and does not seem to bright. However as the movie goes on he seems to appear as a decent guy with manners. In a way that makes sense. A lot of teens put on an act of who they want people to think of them but it is not really them. I was actually sad to see him bite it. 2) There is a minor character in the beginning of the movie. An old man that hates kids and Halloween. He has the apples and razor blades he just bought from the store to prove it. He ends up showing back up at the end of the movie with his wife. They are the ones that we last see in the movie and it was a twisted, Twilight Zone twist type of ending that I enjoyed. Irony can be so tasty. 3) One of the teens is a black kid. Not only does he not die in the beginning, he does not die at all. That makes this one of the first if not THE first horror movie that happened in. OMG, now that's a blast from the past! My sister and I would constantly rent this from the video store and show it to any new friends we made! Reading the Wikipedia page on it brought back a lot of memories!

Last night I had a semi-dream about an idea for a movie. I was like watching it in my dream. It was A Christmas Carol but put on by the apes from Planet of the Apes.
For the record, that is not an unusual kind of dream for me.

For the record, that is not an unusual kind of dream for me. Now that sounds entertaining as hell! Sit down and start writing the script.😀 Speaking of weird dreams I had a COTG related one recently. I dreamt that Nitro was playing pro baseball and he hit the game-winning home run to win the World Series. His teammates picked him up on their shoulders and he struck the pose on his game card. I really need to stop eating Pizza Pops before I go to sleep.

Twins of Evil
This 1971 release is part of what is known as The Karnstein Trilogy. Three movies from that time that were based on the Carmilla novella which some say was the inspiration for Dracula. The trilogy has lesbian undertones. This movie was set in Europe in the 17th century and stared real twins, and former Playboy Playmates Mary and Madeleine Collinson. Sadly both sisters died in the last 10 years. The movie started off ok. Nothing special. But near the end it got, IMO, very comical and hokey. One part in particular I thought they were either not thinking how it looked or they knew how it looked and did not care. The main plot of the movie is about some Puritans that go around burning "witches" at night. They call themselves The Brotherhood. The villain is a Count who is a Satanist and later is turned into a vampire. The Count has hired muscle who just so happens to be the only black character in the movie. Well, near the end The Brotherhood, carrying torches go up against the muscle. Yea, it is funny but not if you know what I mean. Other funny parts is when the muscle who I guess is a deaf mute signs about the mob coming for the Count and the Count's reactions are comical. Then, at the end, after being killed the vampire Count starts to decompose but the first thing to go is his hair so he is bald.

Terrifier 2
Finally got around to watching this last night. It was a mix bag for me. I liked it but not as much as the first one. To me it felt like the director did not know which way to go with the movie. Early on it was about extreme gore and savagery that I was not a fan of. Then it got into a bit more creative on the killing/horror. Back to the extreme and back to some creativity. It was part just slasher/killer on the loose movie then it swerved into supernatural. Just overall it was uneven. I felt like it could have been much better. I see they are making a third installment. I will check it out as it is supposed to continue from this one so maybe they find a better flow.

Ok, so I just discovered that Chris Jericho was in Terrifier 2. I do NOT remember seeing him. Small part I am sure but still. Gonna have to go and rewatch it. Based on his character description, nurse, I am guessing he is the guy in the bonus scene at the end. But that dude seemed chubby. EDIT: Should have done my research first. It WAS him. I think the hair being pulled back threw me off.

I have been watching Highlander the Series on H&I. Last night's episode, during the opening credits, I saw a familiar name. Anthony Head aka Giles from Buffy. It was weird listening him talk with an American accent.

In another thread I was involved is a short discussion on the new movie The First Omen and how it was not needed. In a funny coincidence today I was checking a future date for my local theater for the special release of Gone With The Wind and I happen to see The First Omen listed. Thanks to a mistake by the person entering the info it shows the running time for The First Omen at 0. I am sure some people think that is about how long that movie should be.

I rewatched WM 13 and one match was sad. Paul Bearer (rip) led the team of Mankind and Big Van Vader (rip) against the team of Owen Hart (rip) and Davey Boy Smith (rip). Four of five are no longer with us.
