It is time to start the VIU Singles Cup which involves every singles male wrestler to hold a VIU tag team championship this past game year!

Match #1: Adam Pearce defeated James Jeffries in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- Jeffries showed some heart but Pearce won via his JUMPING PILEDRIVER.
Match #2: Wes Briscoe defeated Sami Callihan in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- A good match that saw Beriscoe get an impressive victory via a bulldog.
Match #3: Colt Cabana defeated Trey Miguel in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- Cabana won via COLT .45.
Match #4: "Filthy" Tom Lawlor defeated AC Mack in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- Lawlor won via REAR NAKED CHOKE.
Match #5: Drake Younger defeated Jonathan Gresham by DQ in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- Despite Gresham claiming to be the only real wrestler in this match and criticizing Younger for his proclivity for deathmatches, this match ended when the referee caught Gresham resorting to trying to get away with a low blow and thus disqualified Gresham.

Match #6: Willie Mack defeated Killer Kross (accomanied by Scarlett Bordeaux) in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- Kross did not go down easily but Mack won via his CHOCOLATE THUNDER BOMB.
Match #7: Alexander Hammerstone defeated Jake Something in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- Hammerstone won via his NIGHTMARE PENDULUM.
Match #8: Calvin Tankman defeated Jerry Lynn in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- Lynn controls the majority of this match but Tankman won via his TANKMAN DRIVER.
Match #9: Ace Austin defeated Elijah Burke in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- Austin won via THE FOLD.
Match #10: Brian Cage defeated Kevin Thorn (accompanied by Shelly Martinez) in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- Thorn put up a good fight but Cage wins via WEAPON X.

Match #11: Shaun Ricker defeated Davey Boy Smith Jr. in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- A very good match, Ricker won via his GRAVY TRAIN.
Match #12: "Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne defeated PCO in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- A good match, Dunne won via a sitout powerbomb.
Match #13: Jacob Fatu defeated Matt Riddle in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- Riddle caught Fatu off guard and started strong with a quick pin attempt. Fatu however soon took control of this match and never looked back in taking out Riddle via his MIGHTY MOONSAULT.
Match #14: Jeff Cobb defeated RUSH in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- A good match, Cobb won via a standing moonsault.
Match #15: Jay Lethal defeated Teddy Hart in a VIU Singles Cup Qualifying match
- In the last of the Qualifying Round matches, Lethal won via KOJI CLUTCH.

Match #16. Tyler Black defeated Ace Austin in a VIU Singles Cup First Round match
- Black won via a rollup after a missed turnbuckle charge by Austin.
- As a result, Black advances to the Second Round.
- Afterward, Black said he is going to win this VIU Cup because he is "the best in the world."
Match #17: Matt Cardona defeated Adam Pearce in a VIU Singles Cup First Round match
- A good match, Cardona won via his JUMPING LEG LARIAT.
- As a result, it will be Tyler Black vs Matt Cardona in the Second Round.
Match #18: Jeff Cobb defeated Nigel McGuinness in a VIU Singles Cup First Round match
- A good match. Cobb became the first of the Qualifying Round winners to advance in the First Round too when he pinned McGuinness via a pumphandle falllaway slam.
Match #19: Kevin Steen defeated Shaun Ricker in a VIU Singles Cup First Round match
- Ricker gave Steen some problems but Steen won with getting away with his feet on the ropes for extra leverage after Ricker missed a turnbuckle charge.
- As a result, it will be Cobb vs Steen in the Second Round.

- Younger scored this upset when he surprised WALTER with DRAKE'S LANDING.

- Hammerstone gave him a good fight but Moxley advanced via MOXICITY.

Wow, Drake Younger is on quite the run already!! Could the dice be in his favour? Could he go all the way?! Younger got really lucky in how he defeated WALTER. WALTER controlled about 90% of the match but Drake Younger managed to hit DRAKE'S LANDING (+2) and WALTER- whose PIN was still 1 as Drake Younger had not managed a PIN attempt on him yet- rolled a 3 to end the match. Drake Younger is a record 3-time CVW Champion and a candidate to make my upcoming CVW Hall of Fame coming next year but he will have his work cut out for him in the next round against Jacob Fatu. |
