Hello my fellow promoters and welcome to my annual legend’s tournament. For those who have checked out the action before, thanks for coming back. For anyone new to the event, this is how it works. The event consists of 64 competitors. The matches are contested without any stipulations which means a competitor can be eliminated by pinfall, count-out, draw or disqualification. The final eight competitors from the 2023 tournament earn the top eight seeds in the 2024 tournament with last year’s winner Lou Thesz getting the top seed, runner up Antonio Inoki getting the second seed etc. Any competitor who loses their first-round match will not be eligible to compete in next year’s event. There are usually some big names on the sidelines as a result of first round upsets from the previous year. Previous final round results are as follows: 2011: Bobo Brazil pinned Killer Kowalski 2012: Nick Bockwinkel submitted Andre The Giant 2013: Road Warrior Hawk defeated Greg Valentine 2014: Antonio Inoki submitted Rikidozan 2015: Antonio Inoki pinned Mil Masacaras to claim back to back victories 2016: In the first non-clean finish tournament final, George Hackenschmidt bested Tommy Rich by DQ 2017: The controversy continued as Randy Savage and Rob Van Dam battled to a double disqualification in the finals and were declared co-winners. 2018: Steve Williams pinned Bruiser Brody 2019: Bobo Brazil pinned Harley Race to claim his second tournament 2020: The Destroyer submitted Stan Hansen 2021: Jack Brisco defeated Adrian Adonis 2022: Big Van Vader defeated Lou Thesz 2023: Lou Thesz defeated Antonio Inoki
As with previous tournaments, Dr. Mike Lano will be at ringside for each match to capture the action. The officials in charge will be randomly selected [Dice Roll] from Morgan Dollar, James Beard, Dick Woehrle and Joey Morella. Gary Michael Cappetta’s card will come into play if the competitors initiative roll is the same.
Hope to have some results up by the end of the week.
The tournament will kick off with…
Lou Thesz (1) v. Martin “Farmer” Burns (64)

Lou Thesz (1) v. Martin “Farmer” Burns (64) Referee: Morgan Dollar
Thesz controls early repeatedly taking his opponent to the mat after a handshake after the bell. Airplane spins and dropkicks spill Martin to the floor. He crawls back under the ropes where Thesz is waiting with a shot the ribs and more dropkicks. Thesz covers for 1 (R10/P3) and then attacks the upper extremities of Burns. It is all Thesz including a released power bomb. Burns finally manages to counter out of a side headlock but Thesz is quick to counter himself and connect with more dropkicks. Burns gets out of hammerlock and finally has some control against Thesz. Both men start to counter each other to near perfection. Thesz counters a waistlock takeover and connects with more dropkicks. Burns control the arm of Thesz and then counters a hammerlock into a half nelson and slam for a one count (R9/P2). IOWA BACKDROP. ONE COUNT ONLY! (R12/P4). Burns goes after the lower body with a grinding toe hold and then goes back to the arm. Thesz counters a three-quarter nelson with an airplane spin smashing Burns to the mat again. Thesz picks up the pace with dropkicks and another airplane spin connecting with shots to the ribs in between. Burns looks about finished but gets out a head scissors and executes a flying mare. Burns targets the arm but Thesz is ready and locks in a rolling short arm scissors. Release power bomb crushes Burns. Thesz goes after the ribs with jabs. Standing arm bar and wrist hold gives Burns the upper and he moves to a half nelson and slam. 1, 2, 3 (R5/P5). The Defending Champion is out in the first round and will not be back next year as well.
Stunner to kick off the tournament! Next match . . .

my goodness...Thesz drops immediately. Like both guys, so I'll just cheer and see who wins.
Vader lost in the first round last year too didn't he?

He is in the same draw as Thesz this year and now looks even more likely to reach the finals with Thesz out of the way
