Chad Olson Thanks so much for allowing me on and doing that segment, it's always a blast talking to you. Your personality is always so upbeat and a lot of the time hilarious, it's infectious - in an absolutely great way. You're just one of those people that light up a room when you enter and it's an honor to call you friend. TDalton you're a grumpy old man, but I can relate! In all seriousness though, you will always be the FIRST promoter I ever talked to on the phone way back in 1992. Ah memories, we will enjoy them. You might not like me sharing this with the world, but you are a very nice guy and a pleasure to know - under that gruff exterior of course, but again I can relate. BTW - I still have the VHS tape you made and sent to me of JUSHIN 'THUNDER' LIGER matches!!! You listed names of everyone in each match, except there was couple of matches - LIGER vs. SOME GUY in blue tights [CLASSIC!] Cory Olson , we talked at Galacticon in Waterloo and you know what I think of you. I truly believe you are a wonderful human being. Nuff said. iowaoaks though we don't know one another, we need to talk! I think we would be fast friends. LOL While my collection would pale in comparison to yours from the sound of it, I still have a very 'solid' comic collection. My crown jewel being a 9.0 copy of INCREDIBLE HULK #181! Many won't know the significants of that book, but I'm sure you do. I have an entire run of The AVENGERS from #1 through #300 [complete]. I also have GIANT-SIZE X-MEN #1 and a complete run from issue #94 through #200 unbroken. I 100% agree with you that comics and THIS GAME are a great escape from reality and very therapeutic.

Everyone knows Hulk 181, KB. That's the one with Wendigo in it! And some other guy's first full appearance.
Three hours podcast is entering Joe Rogan territory in length. I am going to have to break this one up over a couple of days.

Everyone knows Hulk 181, KB. That's the one with Wendigo in it! And some other guy's first full appearance. Yeah, I forget his name too - some scratchy guy. I own #180 and #182 also, but #181 is the only book in my entire collection that I ever wanted to get graded. 1977 - I was 11 years old and we had just moved to Columbus, Ohio from Springfield. I found the only comic bookstore in town, other than the 'weird' Monkey's Retreat on campus, COMICS and CO. I had $20 to spend and my mom drove me there, all the way to the North end from the far west side. I dug through the back issues of Incredible Hulk and I FOUND IT! My HOLY GRAIL! I frantically showed my mom, wow could care less, and her response was "You're going to spend $10 on ONE comic book?"I gleefully said "YES!!! This is the first appearance of... that scratchy guy." She rolled her eyes and said "Whatever.."$10 in 1977 for one comic book was unheard of, but from time to time I like to show my 77-year-old mom what it's worth now.

Ahh Old Scratch....back when he wasn't superoverexposed. Cool pickup, KB.
Long but fun show. Especially enjoyed Tim's thoughts on 74 and 79.
2138 by the way was built around with few groups (just 4) and everyone else just doing their thing doing their own alliances without necessarily being a group. I'm a bit split on the legacy factions, on one hand sure why not on the other hand I think that works best if you do a 38 style no factions group and have several wrestlers from said factions leave to do it.

Gotta love that scratchy guy.
Who knew way back in IH #181 that his hairstyle actually matched his mask.
To quote everyone's favorite superhero turned wrestler The Hurricane: What's up with that?

When talking to Cory a couple of years ago, I thought it was Jerry Oates that was signed.
If it was Ted that Cory signed, then Jerry should be easy since he’s active on Facebook
And yes Chad: definitely more southern NWA guys. They’re always welcome

~KB~ , I wonder if your comic book collection is bigger than my Pro Wrestling memoir/autobiography/history book collections. It seems like more come out all the time. Crown jewels for me: Von Erich Family Photo Album book, The Midnight Express 25th Anniversary Photo Album; Hey Boy, Where'd You Get Them Ears by Paul Boesch; a Lou Thesz signed autobiography; a hardcover edition of Arn Anderson's autobiography; a North Korean biography for Rikidozan; and hardcover edition of What Ever Happened To Gorgeous George? I think it was Jerry Oates, as I went as far as getting the completed form signed, and found out from Chad that Cory had signed one of the Oates, confirmed it was Jerry, and thus no need for the form. Regarding The Iron Claw, I really liked it. I almost convinced Mrs. malicelover to go to the movie. I think the lens through which you went into the movie impacted how good you thought it was, potentially. Many fans who were upset with it fell, as far as the posts I have read, fell into two groups: 1. Those that thought there was not enough wrestling in the movie, which is about wrestlers; or 2.) those who struggled to get past the historical inaccuracies in the film. As James Beard mentioned in his texts to Chad Olson , the movie wasn't a documentary. Further it wasn't a wrestling movie about a family of wrestlers/wrestling promoters/ and their loved ones; it was a family movie that displayed the communications and relationships between a family that just happened to have pro wrestling as a career/income provider. Going in with that mindset made me really enjoy the movie. It was easily the best movie I saw in theaters this year.

Just started the episode but I guess we've answered the question, "Is it possible to have too much egg nog?" Get well, Stu.
