Well seeing Mayo is a minority that is why I figured it did not apply. The reason for the rule is to get fairness in hiring and if they are hiring a minority no need to interview others.
That would be interesting. Philly kind of fits the Pats teams he had. Good QB. Really good D, beyond what we say this season. Good running game. He would get to stay in general area while also leaving the AFC.

The Rooney Rule specifically applies to interviewing outside hires, and also covers other minorities and women. The Raiders still have to abide by it and interview two outside minority applicants even if they end up sticking with Antonio Pierce, since he doesn't have the language in his contract that Mayo did.

With the Flores stuff going on, it just makes it crazier.

Watching the pregame show and they said the Lions Ben Johnson is likely to be hired by Washington. I would find that interesting seeing how Washington hired Eric Bieniemy as their OC for this past season. I mean Bieniemy has been talked about being a HC and for him to be passed over for someone outside the organization who is an OC themselves would be a bad sign for him.

The problem that Bieniemy had in KC was many gave Andy Reid a lot of the credit for their offensive success. Nagy failing on Chicago didn’t help. Bieniemy and the Commanders offense didn’t set the world on fire so a lot of people seemed to have cooled on Bieniemy.

ESPN is reporting that the Chargers are the first to meet with Harbaugh. yeah, I could see him possibly going there too as he used to play for the Chargers and he is friends with the Spanos family speaking of the Chargers, Raiders Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham also interviewed for the Chargers position and Graham is also scheduled for an interview with the Seahawks about their head coaching vacany. The Raiders did block Graham from an interview with another team about an open Defensive Coordinator position which they can do since that is just a lateral move. Graham however is widely considered in high regard and the Raiders can not block him from interviews for head coaching spots since those positions would obviously be a promotion.

Well, one team that will not be looking for a head coach is the Dallas Cowboys. It is being reported that McCarthy will be back next season.

The Raiders are no longer looking for a HC. They officially signed Antonio Pierce.
