Angle hits a power bomb for a two count. Angle and Patterson battle back and forth. Patterson hits the bombs away for a two count. Patterson hits an atomic drop for a two count and throws Angle out of the ring. Angle suplexes Patterson in the front row to turn things around. Angle rolls Patterson back into the ring. Angle hits two Olympic Slams. Angle hits another German Suplex. Angle locks on the Ankle Lock and Patterson taps out.

After the match, Nikolai Volkoff attacks Kurt Angle from behind and hits three backbreaker drops. The champion has to be stretchered out.

Jim Ross and Jim Cornette welcome the fans to the show and plug the main event, Randy Savage vs. Paul Orndorff in a preview of their second round L1 Tag Team tournament match. Cornette says that against doctor’s orders, Kurt Angle has challenged Nikolai Volkoff to a match in two weeks. JR introduces the first match.
1. Harley Race vs. Rocky Kernodle
Race attacks Kernodle like a battering ram and hits the vertical suplex for a two count. Race hits a back suplex for a two count. Race hits the piledriver for the win.
Winner - Harley Race by pinfall
After the match, Race gets on the mic and says Kurt Angle might be an Olympic Gold medalist but Race is the greatest wrestler on God’s Green Earth and the L1 Wrestling Universal Heavyweight champion will soon be his. JR introduces the next match.
2. Don Leo Jonathan vs. Baron Von Raschke
Von Raschke takes the fight to DLJ at the bell. DLJ comes back and wears down Von Raschke with the Mormon Swing. Von Raschke comes back and wears DLJ down with the Brain Claw. DLJ fights his way out of the hold. Jonathan and Von Raschke battle back and forth. DLJ wears Von Raschke down with another Mormon Swing. Von Raschke makes a comeback and locks on the Brain Claw a second time but can’t get DLJ to submit. Von Raschke hits an atomic drop and covers Jonathan for the three count.

3. Jack Brisco vs. Masked Superstar
Brisco and Superstar battle back and forth. Brisco hits a lateral guillotine for a two count. Brisco hits the rolling reverse cradle for a two count. Masked Superstar makes a comeback but Brisco shuts him down and locks on the figure four leglock. Superstar taps out.

Savage gets the early momentum but Orndorff overpowers him and hits a stalling suplex for a two count. Savage and Orndorff battle back and forth. Orndorff hits the jumping piledriver for a two count. Orndorff hits another jumping piledriver for the win.

Valentine takes Hutch apart at a methodical pace. Valentine locks on the figure four and Hutch taps out.

Cornette says The Hammer isn’t anyone to take lightly. Ross introduces the next match.
2. Jackie Fargo vs. Jim Brunzell
Fargo gets the early advantage but Brunzell drills him with the jumping knee smash for a two count. Fargo makes a comeback and hits an atomic drop for a two count. Brunzell makes a comeback and hits a flying head scissors for a two count. Fargo battles back and hits another atomic drop for the win.

3. Pat Patterson vs. Abdullah the Butcher
Patterson and Abdullah battle all over the ring area. Abdullah bloodies Patterson with a foreign object. Patterson rolls up Abdullah in a small package for a two count. Patterson hits the bombs away but Abdullah kicks out. Patterson hits a flying body press but Abdullah kicks out at two. Patterson hits another bombs away for a two count. Patterson drills Abdullah with a foreign object but it’s not enough to put him away. Patterson hoists Abdullah up in an airplane spin and Abdullah taps!

JR says Patterson needed that win after losing to Kurt Angle weeks ago. Cornette introduces the main event.
4. Savage & Poffo vs. Orndorff & Gilbert
Poffo and Gilbert start the match. Gilbert hits a body slam for a two count and tags in Orndorff. Poffo makes a comeback and tags in Savage. Savage hits the vaulting neck snap for a two count and goes to the top rope but Orndorff throws him to the mat. Orndorff hits a jumping piledriver for a two count and tags in Gilbert. Gilbert nails Savage with a running knee lift for a two count. Gilbert whips Savage to the ropes and Savage puts on the brakes and rolls him up in a small package, bringing in Poffo and Orndorff. The referee restores order and Gilbert and Savage brawl on the outside. Savage comes out on top and hits the flying elbow smash for the win.
Winners - Savage & Poffo by pinfall. Savage & Poffo will face Brody & Hansen in round 3.

Hutchison tries grappling with Atlas but Atlas overpowers him. Atlas hits a jumping head butt for a two count. Atlas locks on the full nelson and Hutchison taps out.

1. Joe Blanchard vs. Mikey Whipwreck
Blanchard mauls Whipwreck at the bell. Whipwreck comes back with a top rope splash for a two count. Blanchard makes a comeback and locks on the abdominal stretch but Whipwreck escapes the hold. Malenko gets the early momentum. Duggan rolls him up for a two count after a missed turnbuckle charge. The match spills out of the ring and the referee quickly loses control and calls for the bell.

Jim Ross and Jim Cornette welcome the fans to the show and plug the main event, The Spoiler vs. Vader in a preview of their second round L1 Tag Team tournament match. Jim Cornette says that Kurt Angle’s doctors will not clear him to wrestle until he takes at least a couple months off. JR says Harley Race will defend the gold against Roddy Piper in two weeks and introduces the first match.
1. Jackie Fargo vs. Don Leo Jonathan
Fargo and Jonathan battle all over the ring area and the referee warns them numerous times. DLJ hoists Fargo up in the Mormon Swing and Fargo taps out.

JR says it’s a crime DLJ hasn’t gotten a shot at the L1 Wrestling Universal Heavyweight title. Cornette introduces the next match.
2. Tony Atlas vs. Alexis Smirnoff
