Jim Ross and JIm Cornette welcome the fans to the show. JR hypes the main event, Bob Backlund vs. Kurt Angle for the vacant L1 Wrestling Universal Heavyweight title. Jim Cornette says they’ll be showing the opening round bracket for the L1 Tag Team Tournament later in the show. JR introduces the first match.
1. Bryan Danielson vs. SD Jones
Jones get the early advantage and gets in some offense. Jones drills Danielson with a head butt for a two count. Jones goes for a top rope drop kick but Danielson moves out of the way and locks on the guillotine choke. Jones reaches the ropes. Danielson works over Jones. Danielson whips Jones to the ropes and Jones rolls him up in a small package for a two count. Danielson bounces back and locks on the LeBell Lock! Jones reaches the ropes. Danielson manhandles Jones into the middle of the ring and locks on the LeBell Lock a second time. Jones taps out.

2. Ivan Koloff vs. Prince Kharis
Koloff and Kharis battle back and forth. Koloff hits the Russian Hammer for a two count. Koloff hits the Russian Sickle for the win.

Cornette says Kharis’ thousand year experience advantage didn’t pay off.

Backlund whips Angle to the buckles to start the match. Angle catches him and suplexes him into the buckles. Angle covers Backlund for a two count. Backlund makes a comeback and hits the atomic drop for a two count. Angle turns it around and locks on the Ankle Lock. Backlund fights his way to the ropes. Backlund and Angle grapple back and forth. Angle hits an overhead belly to belly for a two count. Backlund and Angle trade the advantage back and forth. Angle htis a German Suplex for a two count. Angle hits the Olympic Slam for the win.
