1. Lord Zoltan vs. Kenny Jay
Jay gets in some offense. Zoltan kills his momentum with a foreign object and hits the top rope neck snap for a two count. Zoltan hits the running knee drop for the win.

Cornette says a lot of people have underestimated Zoltan and paid the price. JR introduces the next match.
2. Steve Williams vs. Tully Blanchard
Tully goes to work on Doc at the bell. Doc clobbers him with a lariat for a two count. Doc nails Tully with a football tackle for the win.

3. Bob Backlund vs. Abdullah the Butcher
Backlund and Abdullah battle all over the ring area. Abdullah gnaws on Backlund’s forehead, opening up a gusher. Backlund makes a comeback and hits the delayed vertical suplex for a two count. Abdullah and Backlund brawl outside the ring. Abdullah hits a karate thrust and covers Backlund for a two count. Abdullah hits the Sudanese Meat Cleaver for a two count. Abdbullah hits a karate thrust to the throat and bloodies Backlund with a foreign object. Abdullah hits Backlund with the foreign object two more times and covers him for a two count. Abdullah nails Backlund with the foreign object again. Abdullah whips Backlund to the ropes and Backlund catches him in a small package for a two count. Backlund hits a piledriver for a two count. Backlund locks on the Boston Crab and Abdullah taps out.

Piper gets the early momentum. Savage battles back and hits a double axe handle for a two count. Savage hits a running piledriver for a two count. Savage hits another running piledriver for a two count. Piper makes a comeback but Dutch shuts him down and hits a clothesline for a two count. Savage hits a thumb to the throat for the win.

1. SD Jones vs. Prince Kharis
Jones and Kharis battle back and forth. Kharis wears Jones down with a bear hug. Jones makes a comeback and hits the Philly Shuffle & Big Punches for a two count. Jones goes to the top and hits the cross body for the three count.
Winner - SD Jones by pinfall
Cornette says Jones just had his broken clock moment. JR introduces the next match.
2. George Tragos vs. Lord Zoltan
Tragos takes Zoltan to the mat at the bell and locks on the double wristlock, wearing Zoltan down. Zoltan and Tragos battle back and forth. Tragos clamps on the double wristlock a second time and Zoltan looks to be on the verge of tapping out when he grabs the ropes. Tragos locks on the armlock and scissors. Zoltan taps out.

3. Steve Williams vs. Bob Backlund
Doc and Backlund grapple back and forth. Backlund avoids a turnbuckle charge and rolls Doc up for a two count. Doc makes a comeback and nails Backlund with a football tackle for a two count. Doc hits a superplex for a two count. Doc hits a belly to belly suplex for the win.

JR says Williiams is unstoppable. Cornette introduces the main event.
4. Dutch Savage & Don Leo Jonathan vs. Roddy Piper & Don Muraco
Jonathan and Muraco start the match. Jonathan gets the early advantage but Muraco kills his momentum with the Asiatic Spike. Muraco tags in Piper. Piper locks on the figure four and Muraco takes out Dutch Savage. DLJ taps out.

1. Super Crazy vs. Disco Inferno
Crazy and Disco battle back and forth. Crazy hits the tilt a whirl backbreaker for a two count. Crazy goes to the top and Disco throws him to the mat. Disco hits a piledriver for a two count. Disco goes to the top but Crazy goes up after him and hits the leaping ddt for the win.

Danielson and Tragos battle back and forth. Danielson hits a top rope huracanrana for the win.

Vachon goes to work on Malenko and hits a backbreaker for a two count. Vachon hits a piledriver for the win.

Cornette says Vachon hasn’t mellowed since last time he was in the ring. JR introduces the main event.
4. Kurt Angle vs. Ivan Koloff - Russian Chain match for the L1 Wrestling Universal Heavyweight title!
Angle gets the early advantage and drops Koloff on his head and neck with a German suplex. Angle doesn’t bother trying to drag Koloff to the corners. Angle hits three more German Suplexes. Angle hits an overhead belly to belly and drags Koloff to two corners before the Russian Bear puts on the brakes. Angle wears Koloff down with the Ankle Lock and hits three corners before Koloff fights him off. Angle hits an Olympic Slam and touches all four corners. THe referee calls for the bell.

Jim Ross and JIm Cornette welcome the fans to the show. JR hypes the main event,Vader vs. Stan Hansen in a preview of next week’s tag team encounter.
1. Kenny Jay vs. Prince Kharis
Jay goes on the attack at the bell and nails Kharis with the Sodbuster Spike. Kharis sits up and Jay resumes his attack. Kharis and Jay battle back and forth. Kharis locks on the bear hug and Jay taps out.

Cornette says Prince Kharis was due. JR introduces the next match.
2. Sabu vs. Val Venis
Sabu and Venis battle back and forth. Sabu goes for a moonsault but gets his knees up and covers him for a two count. Venis hits the money shot for a two count. Sabu makes a comeback and hits an Arabian facebuster. Sabu goes for the triple jump moonsault but Venis moves out of the way. Venis can’t hold the momentum and Sabu is back in control. Sabu hits the triple jump moonsault for the win.

3. Abdullah the Butcher vs. Nikita Koloff

Vader hits another power bomb but Spivey makes the save. Vader hits a Samoan Drop and Hansen rolls out of the ring. Vader comes out after him and Hansen busts him open with some stiff shots. Hansen goes to work on Vader but can’t knock him down. Hansen hits a Borger Body Slam for a two count. Hansen power bombs Vader for a two count. Hansen hits a second power bomb but Vader kicks out. The crowd calls for the lariat. Vader rolls out of the ring and Hansen goes out after him. The two bruisers brawl all over the ring area. Vader comes out on top and hits a released power bomb. Vader covers Hansen but Spivey makes the save. Vader tags in Scorpio and throws Spivey out of the ring. Scorpio goes to the top and hits the 450 Splash for the win.
Winners - Vader & Scorpio by pinfall. Vader & Scorpio will take on Piper & Muraco in round 2.
