She was also a particularly vulnerable woman both emotionally (having lost both of her parents in short order) and financially (having been away from the workforce to take care of said parents).

Entering into a relationship with someone is generally a willing decision to make. Having that person manipulate you into situations you don't know how to get yourself out of are an entirely different thing. This was a woman who was in a vulnerable state when she met Vinne Mac and he prayed on that to build her trust then manipulate her into situations that he wanted her in. He held all the power in the relationship and was also her employer, then when he was done with her he passed her off to Johnny Ace to be his plaything while his wife was sick. He also tried to arrange a "playdate" between her and Brock Lesnar.
Vince is from the trailer park and he deserves to spend the rest of his life back in said park.
We don't know exactly what the feds are investigating him for, they haven't said yet and everyone is claiming it's because of this. For all we know they could be investing him for insider trading as he was constantly selling WWE Stocks a few weeks before less than favorable quarterly earning calls. He could be investigated for embezzling company funds to pay the NDA's he had multiple women sign.
Anyone who had even minor knowledge of what Vince was doing behind closed doors at Titan Towers needs to be removed from the Company, and that includes people like Nick Khan and Triple H. If Stephanie found out what her Dad was doing and then left the company there isn't a chance in hell Triple H didn't also know, same for Nick Khan.

Vince also had contacts all over Stamford where she lived, all over the business world, executive friends in high places, Saudi royalty, and...oh yeah, a relationship with the sitting President of the United g*d-damn States. He could have completely ruined her life if she didn't comply and I'm sure he had her convinced of that.
The WSJ talked to people familiar with the investigation and they confirmed that the federal investigators are specifically looking into trafficking and have been in contact with Janel Grant and other women who have accused Vince of sexual misconduct.
I'm not the biggest fan of the Wall Street Journal but they're not going to just make up something like that or just assume willy-nilly. Someone who matters told them what was up.

Just take every aspect of this case and role reverse the sexes. Make it a 40 year old guy getting taken advantage of from older female bosses. Does it get the headlines? Does it get any attention at all? Does the male get sympathy? No. Easy answer, no. You'd say he knew what he was doing and he should have walked away.
It would still be creepy, it would still be awful, but the guy would get zero sympathy and zero compensation. There's a strange double standard where we say everyone is equal but when it comes to something like this "well, she's just a girl in the world" (cue No Doubt). I know people want to skin the evil billionaire boss guy, but where does personal accountability come into play? If I had to interview at a 70 year old bosses condo and she came out in her undies, interview over. I can go work at Walmart or the gas station or anywhere else over that. At what point do you say "this is weird and I'm out"?

If you can't empathetically understand how the power dynamics of an abusive relationship robs one of their agency, then it's probably something that one would have to experience first hand to truly grasp, and I pray no one here ever does. But I guarantee that everyone who has ever come through an abusive situation and told their story has gotten some variation of "if it was so bad why didn't you just leave?"

Consent probably doesn't include someone pooping on your face. We'll let the jury decide how much a deuce on the face is worth, I guess.

There is a lawsuit in civil court to sort this out. You can accept whichever media outlet you like--pure journalism is on life support and has largely been replaced by "advocacy journalism". Frankly most "legal" analysis in the media realm is done by non-attorneys or attorneys that are just hired talking heads---the legal analysis highly slanted and usually very inaccurate. Let's be honest shall we....I highly doubt the Saudi Royal Family and whoever is sitting in the Oval office at the moment cares or probably even knows about Vince's mistress. This is not a partisan take as both Democrats and Republicans have bedroom issues.

The power imbalance basically negates consent. I completely agree. I will leave it at that.

This is not a partisan take as both Democrats and Republicans have bedroom issues. That wasn't really my point. It's not whether they actually had involvement, it's whether Vince could *convince her that they did.* That's an opinion. That the feds are investigating Vince for trafficking specifically is a reported fact, not "analysis."
