The Shooters' All-star Grappling Alliance
(Note: This is my show's relaunch, but I wanted the first show to reintroduce the central character before I got to the wrestlers. The following shows will follow the typical wrestling format, but I thought this post was important for the character involved.
-----------------------------------------------
No matches this time; I just wanted to relaunch by first showing the characters central to SAGA before I get to the wrestlers. From here on, there will be wrestling though. -------------------------------------------
Boston, Massachusetts
Destry Sorrow, who with a tank top, button-down overshirt and jeans, hardly resembled his wrestling persona, Headstalker, entered the bar. He walked through the smoke-filled room, past the drunks hitting on repulsed women, people playing pool, and people sadly attempting to dance, before stopping by a sit-down 'Afterburner' game. A trash can next to the game was overflowing with Fig Neuton wrappers and empty Pepsi cans.
Destry: "I see you've been busy in your off time, Shon."
Shon Maxx, former SAGA World Champion and GM, sat in the game chair, wearing shorts and a Disney T-shirt. His hair was cut just to a military cut, and a few days of facial hair was visible.
Shon: (Without looking up from the game) "It keeps me sane, Dest."
Destry: "Shon, I've known you for 15 years, and while I'd call you a number of things, sane will never be one of them."
Shon: "Aw, stop, you're making me blush."
Destry: "Anyway, I'm here to tell you SAGA is getting relaunched."
Shon: "Great, I'll DVR it...if I can figure out how to make the damn thing work."
Destry: "Richard Peck has placed himself in charge of the federation. He claims he alone can improve its previously low ratings."
Shon: "You mean his famous 'adjusted ratings,' as he's so aroused to call them?"
Destry: "Pretty much. The Board of Directors signed a bunch of younger talent, but Peck doesn't want to know what to do with them."
Shon: "Probably use them as fodder for his favorites. Why the hell should I care by the way? I'm a 'former' GM for a reason."
Destry: "Because you have a chance to come back. Peck still sees you as a threat, so he wants you gone once and for all. He's offering you a match; if you win, the GM spot is yours again, along with full control of SAGA; you lose and you're banned from wrestling for life."
Shon: "Oh, that sounds like a blast. Let's break out the balloons and party favors now."
Destry: "You'd be facing The Terrible Turk, the man who ended you wrestling career, remember?"
Shon: "No, Dest, being tossed over the post and into the third row head-first gave me brain damage."
Destry: "You mean more than usual?"
Shon: "If you're gonna flatter me, take me out to dinner first."
Destry: "When's the last time you slept?"
Shon: "A few days ago, but who's counting?"
Destry: "Well, you better start counting now. You have only a few days to get ready for this match."
Shon: "Or I could just sit here and make Peck sweat a little more."
Destry: "In other words, you're giving up."
Shon: "Call it what you want. I busted my @** fighting Peck and his bureaucracy, and what did it get me...a lot of pain and a long vacation. Forget it, I'm done."
Destry: "Shon, SAGA needs you. Peck's going to run it right into the ground. He's even got Kylla Cabal as referee for your match, saying if Kylla does his job he'll get his VISA."
Shon: "Why should you care about him? All he did was cause you misery."
Destry: "He's a fighter who was pushed into a corner. I don't like him, but I respect him. I'd do the same things he did if I was stranded from my family and condemned for my blood."
Shon: "So take him out to dinner then."
Destry walked over and kicked the plug out of the outlet.
Shon: "What the....do you feel better now?"
Destry: "I would if you'd turn and look at me."
Shon: "Okay, Mr. 'I'm tough cause I killed a game,' I'm looking at you now, happy?"
Destry: (Pausing for a moment) "...What happened to you, Shon? You've never run from a fight like this before!"
Shon: "I didn't run; I just stopped fighting."
Destry: "Like you stopped fighting when you kept falling off your bike at five years old until one day you just jumped on it and started riding?"
Shon: "I didn't fall all the time. Once I crashed into a rosebush."
Destry: "Or how about how you grew up crying your eyes out by the edge of the pool because you were terrified to swim? Then one day you just wandered over to the deep end and jumped in."
Shon: "And nearly drowned."
Destry: "But you didn't drown. Who saved you, huh?"
Shon: "What's your point?"
Destry: "When that independent federation you started in said you'd just be the weaker half of a tag team, you almost immediately won two singles titles. And when you entered SAGA, you won the World Title while still recovering from injuries that should have kept you out of action for over a month."
Shon: "Yes, Destry, then I got stripped of the belt after Peck couldn't find a way to beat me. And after I brought the federation to the top as GM, I got canned. Thank you so much for this trip down Amnesia Lane. Man, I need a drink." (Reaches for another Pepsi.)
Destry: "Funny, isn't that what your father would say?"
Shon: (Slowly stands and turns until he's face-to-face with Destry.) "You wanna say that again while you still have all your teeth?"
Destry: "Why, I thought you were afraid to fight?"
Shon: "When did I ever say I was-"
Destry: "You're sitting in the back of a bar, drowning your sadness with junk food and games. They're an escape, Shon, not a refuge. From what you told me, your father was just as scared of a fight."
Shon: "You're comparing this to that piece of ****? Do you see any beer around me? Do you see any married women under my arm?"
Destry: "You're hiding behind your Pepsi the same way he did with the beer. And as for the cheating, you're already doing that."
Shon: "Oh really, please explain more, Dr. Phillis."
Destry: "Shon, you're never at your best, physically, or emotionally, unless you're at mach speed. You're not happy with yourself unless you're fighting back at 200%. Instead now, you're running and hiding, and that's got be like a weight in your stomach. Face it, Shon, you're cheating yourself, and it's destroying you worse than any disease you could get."
Shon: "Get the hell out of here."
Destry: "Funny how you so hated your father."
Shon: "I said get out!"
Destry: "I even remember that picture of him that you ripped apart, that you said he looked so old and broken. I swear, you look just like him-"
Shon punched Destry right in the face. Destry answered with a punch of his own, and the two brawled back and forth before the bouncers separated them. Finally feeling the effects of three-day's lack of sleep, Shon collapsed on the floor.
Bartender: "Both of you, out of here now before I call the police."
Destry started to leave, but turned back to Shon and pulled out a piece of paper.
Destry (Reading the paper) "On June 11th, Acting General Manager Richard Peck will relaunch SAGA by having former World Champion and GM Shon Maxx face the man who put him out of wrestling, The Terrible Turk, with Maxx's future in wrestling on the line. Kylla Cabal will referee, and no one is allowed in Maxx's corner. Although he's been known for crushing the odds, Maxx hasn't been seen near an arena or gym in over a year. It's doubtful that he has a chance to win this one."
(Crumples up the paper and drops it at Shon's feet.)
Destry: "How does it feel to fight again?"
Destry turned and left. Shon glared at his back, his furious breathing slowing to a sigh, before his eyes slowly fell to the crumpled piece of paper before him...

SAGA Return Show!
Richard Peck...Acting General Manager Bill Aptner...Commentator
Champions:
World - Killer Kowalski Tag Team - Pefectly Ravishing (Curt Hennig + Rick Rude) Regional - Bruiser Brody Ultimate - Dan Severn Cruiserweight - Danny Hodge ---------------------------------------------------------
Peck: "Good evening, and welcome back to the Shooter's All-star Grappling Alliance. I am Richard Peck, your current acting Genral Manager. As most of you know, I was forced to close SAGA last year, due to low adjusted ratings and threats to withdraw contributions from Sponsorship Committee, which was in charge of. I hold former General Manager Shon Maxx responsible for all of this and removed him from office.
However, seeing as my decision was not very popular, I'm giving Shon another chance tonight. He will face The Terrible Turk with Kylla Cabal as special referee. If Shon wins, he gets his job back, but if he loses, he is banned from wrestling for life.
I've also signed some younger talent who may one day be stars in wrestling, though now they will have to pay their dues. Tonight, a few of them wil pay their dues against gentlemen I feel best represent this federation.
That's all for now. Enjoy the show, ladies and gentlemen. ----------------------------------------------- 1. Richard Hutton vs. Delirious
Hutton: "Let's see what you got, little man."
Hutton grappled with Delirious and brought him repeatedly to the mat with several takedowns. Delirious fought back, though, and hit several knee strikes. Hutton stopped him and tried to pin him, but he only got a 2 count. Delirious then stunned Hutton again with a surprise clothesline assault before putting him away with the Chemical Imbalance.
Winner: Delirious (Pinfall).
Aftermath:
Delirious: "Don't call me 'little man,' cupcake."
Richard Peck then ran down and glared at Delirious.
Peck: "What do you think you're doing? This match was not about you! How could you be so full of yourself, you upstart? You're fire!"
Delirious suddenly started laughing at him.
Peck: "Oh, you think that's funny? I am not happy!"
Delirious: "Which one are you then, grumpy...sneezy...lazy?"
Peck: "Get the hell out of my arena!"
Delirious: "Ah, got it. Impotent."
Peck: "Get out now!"
Delirious was led out by security as the next match started.
In the back. Headstalker was talking with The Crusher.
Crusher: "Wow, one punch and he knocked you down? And he hadn't slept in days?"
Headstalker: "Exactly, and I've worked out every day. I can't wait to see him at his best again."
Crusher: "Looks like we won't have to."
Shon Maxx entered the hallway, a duffel bag over his shoulder. He stopped before Headstalker.
Shon: "For the record, that little incident at the pool where I jumped in, no one helped me. I choked, I gasped, and I fought, but I made it to the steps on my own. Oh, and Des, sorry about your lip. Hey Reg."
Crusher: "Hey Shon."
Headstalker: "Welcome back, Shon."
2. The Mongols vs. The Jung Dragons.
Bepo and Geeto unleashed a double-team assault on Dustin Lee that lasted several minutes. Lee finally took advantage of Bepo's missed turnbuckle splash to tag off to Scotty Vortekz. Vortekz cleaned house but again fell victim to a double team. All four men ended up on the floor until Lee climbed ropes and performed a moonsault that dropped both Mongols. Peck immediately ordered the referee to stop the match.
Winners: The Mongols (DQ).
Aftermath: Peck fired Vortekz and Lee for 'Abuse of Position' in the match.
3. The Beautiful People (Gorgeous George + Buddy Rose) vs. Jimmy Jacobs + Tyler Black.
Jacobs and Black shocked George and Rose with an attack that left both of them on the mat, stunned. They retreated to the floor, where Black and Jacobs both his flying kicks off the aprons. They rolled Rose back into the ring and hit double knee drops as Peck again called for the bell.
Winners: The Beautiful People (DQ).
Aftermath: 'Abuse of Position' again...
4. Ed "Strangler" Lewis vs. The Missing Link.
Lews was accompanied to the ring by Timber and his newest signing, The Belgian Brawler. While his two bodyguards bullied and distracted Capt. Lou Albano, Lewis wrestled Link to the mat and locked the Strangler's Headlock. Link got to the ropes and started pounding on Lewsi n the corner. Lewis slipped free, grappled Link to the mat again, and again locked the Strangler's Headlock. Link passed out.
Winner: Ed Lewis (KO).
5. Cruiserweight Title Match: Fatal Four-Way Elimination: Champion Danny Hodge vs. Tiger Mask vs Sabu vs. Jushin Liger.
Sabu went after everyone, and at one point, had all three opponents down. Hodge finally got up and dropped Sabu with a dropkick. Toger and Liger fought back and forth, and Liger eliminated his opponent after a surprise shouda.
Tiger tried to pin Sabu, then Hodge, but both kicked out. Tiger threw Hodge to the floor and hit a flying senton. Sabu then climbed the rope and flew at both of them but missed and hit the barrier. Tiger rolled Hodge back in and went for the Tiger Suplex, but Hodge reversed it into a cradle and eliminated him.
Sabu, who was spitting up blood, rolled back ito the ring and sneak-attacked Hodge. Hodge fought back and hit a dropkick and backbreaker. Sabu rolled to the floor, grabbed and chair, and leveled Hodge. He went for the Triple Jump Moonsault but missed and landed right on the chair after Hodge rolled away and kicked the chair. Hodge went for the Oklahoma Sideroll, but Sabu kicked out. Hodge sat for a moment in shock, allowing Sabu to get the chair. As Hodge went to reach for his opponent, Sabu smashed him with the chair over and over. He then hit the Triple Jump Moonsault and scored the pin.
Winner and New Cruiserweight Champion: Sabu.
Aftermath: Sabu stumbled on his way to the back, still spitting blood, before he collapsed completely. EMT's rushed out and took him out on a stretcher.
GM Position on the line: Shon Maxx vs. The Terrible Turk. Special Referee Kylla Cabal walked out first. Shon walked out next with no music. Turk walked out, accompanied by Abdullah Farouk and Richard Peck.
Turk attacked Shon before the bell as Kylla just stood there. Turk stretched Shon's mouth and burned his face along the ropes. He choked Shon on the top rope and tossed him across the ring. As he approached though, Turk was stopped in his tracks as Shon unleashed a punching assault, followed by a dropkick. Turk bounced off the turnbuckle and fell to the mat, where Shon delivered several knee drops. He followed with a flying knee to the back of the head, and went for a cover, but Kylla counted slowly, and Turk kicked out.
Shon locked a stting arm and neck lock on Turk, but Turk was able to get to the ropes. He dropped Shon with a surprise hid to the stomach and gut buster, and he tried a cover of his own. Kylla counted quickly, but Shon kicked out.
Turk tossed Shon to the floor and whipped him over the barrier. He started to climb over it, but Shon caught him with series of punches which caused Turk to straddled it. Shon then climbed the barrier and jumped off with an elbow to Turk's head. Kylla started to warn Shon as Peck helped Turk to the ring. Shon then hit a flying dropkick that sent Turk crashing into the apron. Turk finally got into the ring, and Peck yelled at Kylla to 'continue counting.' Kylla 'started' counting at 18 and Shon barely made it back into the ring, where Turk caught him with several stomps.
Turk locked the Stranglehold, but Shon backed him into the turnbuckle. Shon climbed the turnbuckle, and Turk charged forward, trying the same move he ended Shon's career with. But Shon leaped over him. Kylla started yelling at Shon, and Turk took advantage of this, flooring Shon with a running elbow. He tried another cover, but Shon kicked out again pf a fast count (At this point, Kylla didn't seem too happy about his own actions.).
Turk picked Shon up and began choking him on the top rope. He then called for Farouk, who tossed Turk a gold bar and jumped on the apron, holding Shon throat-first against the rope. Turk charged, but Shon moved, and Turk ended up smashing Farouk with the bar, sending him flying off the apron and crashing into a table. Shon then kicked Turk in the gut and hit To The Maxx (360 neckbreaker). He went for a cover, but Turk kicked out of a slow count.
Shon picked Turk up and hit To The Maxx again. He covered Turk again. Kylla counted slowly 1...2. He then shrugged and counted 3.
Winner and once again SAGA GM: Shon Maxx (pinfall).
Aftermath: Pecked screamed at Kylla, who rolled out of the ring, flipped Peck off, and left. Shon celebrated in the ring for the last time as an actual wrestler.

SAGA
6-18
Returning GM Shon Maxx entered the ring.
Shon Max: "Well, it's official, I have returned! I know a lot of critics called me immature, offensive, and some other things we won't mention at the moment. But for your viewing pleasure, please direct your attention to our brand new SAGA-Tron for some 'Girl-on-Girl Action!'"
(The SAGA-Tron showed two young girls on the top and bottom of a bunk bead.)
"There's my 10 year old cousin and her friend playing 'Pirate Ship.' Aren't they cute? What? What were you thinking? Anyways, down to business. First, Kylla Cabal. He sacrificed a lot last week to call the match evenly in the end, so I made a few phone calls, and Kylla is now not only a resident of Canada where he has reunited with his family, but a star in Northern Pro Wrestling. We wish him the best there and welcome him back whenever he wants. The Terrible Turk, on the other hand, thanks to the contract, has been reduced to part-time status for the rest of the year. He can only compete on special events.
As for the incident with Sabu, well I said when I took this job that I'd be making decisions that you may not like. The doctors have said that Sabu will be out of action for a couple of months. I know; that sux. Because of that, well I hate stripping wrestlers of titles, but I have no choice here. The Cruiserweight Title is officially vacant, and its status in SAGA is suspended temporarily. In its place, however, I'm bringing another title back.
It seems we have a number of new young signings, as well as some veterans who'd like a final run. For them, I'm bringing back the Xtreme Total Combat Division, and the tournament will begin within a couple of weeks.
The next big announcement is something I wanted to do before we got kicked off the air. Next month, we will have the first ever Manager Lottery! That's right, our managers will get to pick names out of a hat. If it's their wrestler, they keep him. But if it's not, they get to try working with some new blood. Now some have felt this isn't too fair to those managers and wrestlers who've worked together for years, so I'm giving them a chance to prove themselves. On July 11 at our first ppv Explosion. wrestlers will get to keep their status.' If they wil their matches, they are exempt from the Manager Lottery, which will take place a week later. If they lose, they have no one to blame but themselves.
Finally, I decided that, since our champions haven't defended their belts in a while, they will all defend theirs tonight. So kick back and enjoy the show!"
1. Giant Baba vs. Savage T.
Before the match, Savage T spoke to Baba in Japanese and asked him to only beat him by pinfall. The bell rang, and Baba tossed T around like a rag doll. After several minutes of this, he locked T in a sleeper, and it looked like T was passing out. Baba dropped him to the mat and pinned him. Baba's manager, Street Reaper was not happy.
Winner: Giant Baba (Pinfall).
2. New Ago Outlaws vs. The Beautiful People.
The Road Dog and Billy Gunn exchanged double-team maneuvers with Buddy Rose and Gorgeous George. After several minutes of this, RD got the edge and pinned Rose after a spike piledriver.
Winners: New Age Outlaws.
Shon Maxx was walking in the back when he was approached by Scotty Vorteckz.
Shon: “Hey, Scott.”
Vorteckz: “Shon, We’d like to talk to you about getting new contracts.”
Shon: “I can’t do anything about that at the moment.”
Vorteckz: “But we got fired last week for doing our jobs! Can’t you rehire us or something.”
Shon: “Considering I have no paper saying you were released, no. As far as I’m concerned, the firings last week never happened.”
Vorteckz: “So we still have a job?”
Shon: “Unless you’d like to purposely lower your pay so I’d get a bigger bonus-”
Vorteckz: “Nope, no problems. Thanks.”
He took off and Angelo Mosca approached.
Mosca: “I hope you’re proud of yourself.”
Shon: “Very much so, thanks.”
Mosca: “Are you also proud of ripping me off at the last pay per view? Come here and look at this.”
(Mosca led Shon to a monitor which showed events from when Mosca fought Frank Gotch. Gotch had Mosca in the Gotch Toehold, and Mosca tried to pretend to be unconscious so he didn’t have to submit. However, George Hackenschmidt (whom Mosca had injured months earlier) showed up, grabbed a cup of ice water, and threw it in Mosca’s face. He then pointed to Mosca while mimicking a ‘tapping out’ gesture. Mosca had no choice but to tap out.)
Shon: (Chuckling.) “So what’s your point?”
Mosca: “My point? He cheap-shot me with that water! I lost because of him!”
Shon: “You lost because of ice water?”
Mosca: “The ice flew into my eyes!”
Shon: “Your eyes were closed. I thought you were unconscious.”
Mosca: “So you’re not going to do anything about it.”
Shon: “Considering you tried to put both of them out of wrestling, no. I am not going to discipline either of them over a cup of water.”
Mosca: “I should’ve known you’d take sides with your boyfriends! You just showed that you have your favorites; who knows what you do behind closed doors. Now I know I can never get a break unless it’s from my knees...is that right, Boss?”
Shon: (Who was listening to this with his arms crossed and smirking) “Are you finished?”
Mosca: “Not even close.”
Shon: “Well, keep going. I’m a big boy, I can take it.”
Mosca: “You’re not worth the breath!”
Shon: “Fine then. You’re right, I do play favorites. I give shots to those who bust their rears and give their hearts out there. And I could care less for those who prefer to sit in a corner whining or thinking they can rest on past laurels. That’s why guys like Gotch, Kowalski, and Brody are at the top while guys like Hogan would work dark matches. But you want a fair shot, fine, I’ll give you one. Next week, you’ll face Frank Gotch one more time, no interference. The winner will compete for the World Title at Explosion. Is that fair enough?”
Mosca: “Looks like I struck the right nerve.” (Walks away.)
Shon: “If you feel better believing that. Go for it.”
Headstalker approached Shon.
Headstalker: “You gave him a shot?”
Shon: “Well if he puts anywhere near as much energy into preparing for the match as he does complaining, he deserves it. But if he keeps doing what he’s doing, well he’s on his own.”
3. Ox Baker vs. Cousin Luke.
Ox assaulted Luke immediately and brought him to the floor, where he smashed him against both the railings and the apron. After several more minutes of punishment, he put Luke away with the Heart Punch.
Winner: Ox Baker (Pinfall).
4. Diamond Dallas Page vs. Ted Dibiase.
These two continued their feud, but without their partners (NAO and Perfectly Ravishing respectively). Dibiase attacked first by pushing him to the corning with several punches, but Page countered with a spinning clothesline. Page went for an early Diamond Cutter, but Dibiase escaped. The two fought back and forth, and Dibiase eventually got the upper hand, finishing page off with a Million Dollar Dream.
Winner: Ted Debiase (KO).
5. Regional Champion Bruiser Brody vs. The Destroyer.
Capt. Lou Albano and Wild Red Berry got into a brawl outside the ring, allowing Destroyer to attack a distracted Brody. He brought Brody to the mat and hit several knee drops. He went for the Figure Four Leglock, but Brody escaped. Brody went berserk, tossing Destroyer around and pounding him into the mat. He picked Destroyer up and heaved him over the top rope. As he continued his assault, Destroyer’s teammates, The Mountie and Red Bastein, ran out and attacked Brody. Brody threw them off though, but Destroyer sneak-attacked him. The two ended up back into the ring, where Destroyer tried to finish him off again, but Brody fought back again, ultimately flooring Destroyer with several Knee Drops before scoring the pin.
Winner and Still Regional Champion: Bruiser Brody (Pinfall).
6. Ultimate Champion Dan Severn vs. Steve Corino.
The two rivals locked up, with Corino again getting a shocking upper hand. Sherri tried to interfere, but Trinity stopped her. Corino dragged Severn to the floor, but Severn flipped him right over the railing. The two ended up back into the ring, where Severn knocked down Corino and began a vicious assault. The referee stopped the match.
Winner and Still Ultimate Champion: Dan Severn (Referee Stoppage).
Aftermath: Severn grabbed his belt and stormed out with Sherri hurrying to catch up.
7. Tag Team Champions Perfectly Ravishing vs. The Mongols.
The Mongols gained an early advantage, cutting Hennig off from Rude and beating him in the corner. Hennig finally escaped the assault and tagged to Rude. Rude dropped both Mongols, and he and a rested Hennig double-teamed both Mongols. Sir Oliver Humperdink interfered, allowing the Mongols to regain the advantage, and the assault continued. Suddenly, The Crusher (whose partner, Fritz Von Goering, had been injured by both Mongols) ran in and attacked them, causing the referee to stop the match.
Winners: The Mongols (Rude and Hennig retain by DQ).
Aftermath: The Crusher had to be dragged out by security.
8. World Champion Killer Kowalski vs. Pepper Gomez.
Kowalski was accompanied to the ring by Ed Lewis and their bodyguards, Timber and The Belgian Brawler. Gomez was distracted by the group at ringside, allowing Kowalski to easily manhandle him. Gomez tried a counter dropkick, but Kowalski bounced off the ropes and nailed a charging elbow smash. He then picked Gomez up and locked a stomach claw, but Gomez was already unconscious.
Kowalski: “Ha...Ha! Where is this iron stomach now, Pepper?”
Winner and Still World Champion: Killer Kowalski (KO).

SAGA show:
1. The Samoans vs. The Mongols.
The much-smaller Samoans surprised their opponents with several near-falls. Sir Oliver Humperdink helped his team regain the advantage and nearly finish the match. Suddenly, The Crusher ran out and tossed Humperdink over the railing. The Mongols left the ring to save their manager and got counted out.
Winners: The Samoans (count out).
After all the wrestlers were separated, Humperdink led his wrestlers to the back, where they found Shon Maxx.
Humperdink: "Shon, I demand you suspend Crusher for the second attack in a week! You saw that! You-"
(Suddnely, The Crusher ran out but was stopped by Headstalker).
Crusher: "Let me at 'em!"
Shon: "Calm down, Reg."
Crusher: "No I will not calm down! Thanks to those slugs, Goering was hurt, and now he's left the fed! I want 'em and I want 'em now!"
Shon: "Reg, stop, now!"
Crusher: "You can shove-"
Shon: "No you can shove your career! You either calm down or you're out of here!"
(Crusher calmed slightly.)
Crusher: "I can't believe you'd side with-"
Humperdink: "Excellent call, Shon."
Shon: "Shut up! I'm not siding with anyone. Reg, I understand why you're upset, so this is what I'll do. At Explosion, we'll have a match; The Mongols against you, Reg, and anyone you want."
Humperdink: "Fine, but if that'd make my team eligible for the Manager Lottery, than he and his partner should be too."
Crusher: "Fine by me, but I don't need no partner!"
Shon: "Your choice. You have time to think it over."
2. The Road Dog vs. Curt Hennig.
Hennig scored several near-falls before RD fought back, dragging Hennig to the floor, and smashing him into the railing. He went for a cover, but Bobby Heenan distracted the referee. Hennig fought back and hit the Hennig Plex, but Billy Gunn ran into the ring and attacked him.
Winner: Curt Hennig (DQ).
3. Yukon Eric vs. Cousin Luke.
Luke attacked first, but Eric smashed him off and knocked him across the ring. He then locked the Kodiak Crunch, but Luke wiggled free, and Eric jumped him. Eirc knocked Luke down again before climbing the turnbuckle and hitting a cross body block for the win.
Winner: Yukon Eric (pinfall).
The Terrible Turk was shown on the SAGA-Tron.
Turk: "Two weeks ago, I suffered a minor set-back. But I promise you, I will return. I know now how to rule this federation, and the first step of my quest lies at Explosion. Next week, I'll issue my challenge. Until then, remember, I am the Only Gold Standard in wrestling!"
In the back, Capt. Lou Albano found Ox Baker fighting with teammate Yukon Eric.
Ox: "Where is it? Where the @#$%@ is my bike?"
Albano: "Oh this again?"
Eric: "Ox, calm down. It's in the locker room in the back. I just hid it back there to show you how crazy it's making you!"
They went into the room but found the bike in pieces.
Ox: "You son of a-"
Albano: "Stop, both of you! (Sees Shon and Headstalker walking by) "Shon, Help!"
Shon and Headstalker ran in. Shon stepped in front of Eric while Headstalker stopped Ox.
Headstalker: "Stand back."
Ox: "Get the @$@@!$ out of my-"
Headstalker stepped right into his face.
Ox: "Okay, okay. But look what he did to my bike!"
Eric: "I didn't destroy it. I only hid it."
Albano: "Enough, both of you! I'm so sick of this! I signed Eric to make our team stronger, but if all you two do is fight over a bike, than forget it! I want you two to face each other. The loser is off the team!"
He turned to Shon.
Albano: "Can I do that?"
Shon: "Yeah, at Explosion, you two will fight one more time. Loser's off your team. You'll get to pick anyone else during the lottery."
Albano: "Thank you. Can you also keep these two from fighting until then?"
Shon: "Oh I think that's possible. Would you boys like to watch some movies? I've got Hulk Hogan's new-"
Eric: "No! No, that's okay. We'll behave."
Ox: "Fine, as long as I get him in the ring."
Shon: "Good, then we're done here. Later, guys."
4. #1 Contention Match: Frank Gotch vs. Angelo Mosca.
Mosca distracted the referee and threw something into Gotch's eyes. He pounded on Gotch in the corner before locking the Sleeper. Gotch barely escaped the hold, but Mosca dragged him to the floor and smashed him into the stairs. He brought him back in and went for a cover, but Gotch kicked out. Mosca argued with the referee, but Gotch got up and dropped Mosca with a leg vice. He hit an Iowa backdrop and tried a cover, but Mosca kicked out. Gotch went for the Gotch Toehold, but Mosca got to the ropes. Gotch then locked a crossface and armbar, but Mosca again got to the ropes.
However, Mosca grabbed Gotch's wrist with his other hand and held it, making it look like Gotch was refusing to release the hold. The referee nearly disqualified Gotch, and argued with him until Mosca hit a low blow that dropped Gotch to the mat. He went for a cover with his feet on the ropes, but Gotch kicked out.
Mosca argued with the referee, but Gotch jumped up and knocked Mosca to the mat. He pounded relentlessly on him, and the two fell to the floor. Gotch smashed him into the railing and continued punching him. He then rolled him back into the ring, but Mosca raked his eyes and hit a loaded elbow. He went for a cover, but Gotch just barely kicked out.
Mosca tossed Goth into the turnbuckle and charged, but Gotch ducked, catching Mosca with a drop toehold that sent Mosca face-first into the turnbuckle. Gotch then locked the Gotch Toehold in the center of the ring. Mosca tried to grab the ropes, but Gotch pulled him again to the center of the ring. Mosca then had no choice but to tap out.
Winner and #1 Contender for the World Title: Frank Gotch (submission).
Frank Gotch will now face World Champion Killer Kowalski at Explosion.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Backstage of the SAGA event, Ed Lewis spoke with Timber and The Belgian Brawler.
Lewis: "Gentlemen, you've done a fine job as bodyguards for myself and Wladek. However, I recently discovered that I can only keep one bodyguard, so I'm going to have you two fight for the job at Explosion. The winner stays as bodyguard. The loser leaves. But tonight, you two will team up, to prepare you for your match in two weeks.
Pepper Gomez was in the back when Angelo Mosca barged in.
Mosca: "I can't believe that cheating girly patsy Shon Maxx ripped me off Again! I had the title shot in the pal of my hand until they stole it from me! What are you looking at!"
Gomez: "Nothing, amigo. I just heard yelling, and I turned to see who it was."
Mosca: "Well mind your own business!"
Gomez: "Hey, I want no trouble here."
(Richard Hutton entered.).
Hutton: "What trouble are you getting yourself into now, Pepper?"
Gomez: "Nothing, I am minding my own business."
Mosca: "He's scared of me. I can tell."
Hutton: "He should be. I've seen what you can do, and I wouldn't want to be in his shoes."
Mosca: "Did you hear that, kid? He wouldn't want to be in your shoes! Now stop eyeballing me before I slap that-"
Danny Hodge: "Wow, Gotch was right. You Are nothing but a bully."
Mosca: "Stay out of this, little man, before you wind up a permanent part of the floor!"
Hodge: "Try it and we'll see."
(Mosca spun around when Hutton jumped in.)
Hutton: "Hold it. I've got a match with him tonight before you do anything to him. I don't want him to have any excuses for losing to the Methodical Wonder."
Hodge: "Keep believing it, Hut. Keep believing it."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ XTC Tournament Round 3:
1. Harker Dirge defeated Brent Albright when Claudio Castagnoli interefered. 2. Jimmy Jacobs beat Steve Corino with The End Time. Erick Stevens won against Tyler Black after Black was disqualified for an out of the ring assault.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SAGA Card:
1. Danny Hodge vs. Richard Hutton.
Hutton toyed with Hodge for the first few minutes, using several takedowns and hold. Hodge eventually turned the match around, dropping Hutton with several drop kicks and holds of his own. Hutton regained the advantage and floored Hodge after a backbreaker. He looked the the crowd, but the fans began yelling, "BORING!" as they have for his matches. Hodge fought back again, and the fans erupted. He reversed an Abdominal Stretch and locked a cradle, but Hutton used the ropes to escape. Both ended up on the floor, when Angelo Mosca ran out and rammed Hodge into the metal stairs. Pepper Gomez then ran out and point this out to the referee, who saw the replay on the SAGA-Tron and immediately stopped the match.
Winner: Danny hodge (DQ).
2. Billy Gunn vs. Rick Rude.
Rude scored several near-falls over Gunn, until he missed a flying elbow to the head. Gunn fought back and tried several covers, but Rude kept kicking out. Rude fought back again and hit the Rude Awakening, but The Road Dog ran out and attacked Bobby Heenan. As Rude turned around, Gunn caught him in a school-boy and won the match.
Winner: Billy Gunn (Pinfall).
Aftermath: Rude was joined by Curt Hennig and Ted Dibiase in the ring.
Rude: "You really like to fight with all your friends, so let's settle this with everyone at ringside at once. At Explosion, we challenge you to a 6-Man Tag Team Match."
RD: "Fine with us, but only if you put your tag team titles on the line."
Heenan: "You'd like that, wouldn't you? A match where not only could these gentlemen lose their titles, but their spot on my team as well. You can forget it!"
Hennig: "Hold on a second. I have an idea. We'll accept your little challenge. If we lose, we drop the titles and may be out of The Heenan Family. But if you lose, you're out of the federation!"
Rude: "Works for me. Do you have the guts to accept?"
Gunn: "You bet we do, Dick Dude. Page and us will send all three of you to the hospital!"
RD: "And if you don't like that, We've got two words for you...."
Dibiase: "We've got two words for you. Bye bye!"
3. Timber + The Belgian Brawler vs. George South + Savage T.
Timber and BB tore into their opponents, no doubt to impress Lewis, who watched from ringside. The match ended when Timber pinned South after a running clothesline.
Winners: Timber + The Belgian Brawler.
Gorgeous George and Playboy Buddy Rose were in the back with their manager Larry 'All-Too' Sharpe, staring at themselves in a mirror.
George: "Absolutely beautiful!"
Rose: "Why thank you, George. You look stunning as well."
Sharpe: "I've never been a prouder manager than I am now. The other so-called wrestlers couldn't begin to compare to physical specimens like yourselves."
George: "Other wrestlers? Ah, the thought alone makes me faint. Jeeves the smelling salts!"
Rose: "Not a worry, George. We alone are a true piece of work."
Red Bastein: "A piece of work I wish I could fire."
Sharpe: "This is our private room. Please leave before we call security."
Rose: "And have to sanitize the premises."
Wild Red Berry: "Oh we won't be long. Red?"
Bastein: "We, of the Wrestling Conduct Council, have found that your antics are too horrifying for children to watch. So we're fining you $500 each for indecent exposure."
George: "You must be joking."
Bastein: "Oh no joke. And if you don't pay...well let's just say you should pay."
Berry: "Well there is one way out of that."
Sharpe: "Which is?"
Berry: "You said no one could compare to you. Well let's see that. You two and a third partner of your choice against Red, The Mountie, and The Destroyer at Explosion. Face them and we'll waive the charges."
George: "Well, if you are that confident in yourselves, we accept."
Berry: "Oh, and it has to be someone who's a part of SAGA and not already competing on the card. Good luck to you gentlemen, or should I say ladies?"
Rose: "Why you-"
Sharpe: "Calm yourself, Buddy. We'll take care of them in time."
4. Regional Champion Bruiser Brody vs. The Mountie.
The Mountie tried to use his shock stick early on, but Brody grabbed it and tossed it to the floor. Brody threw Mountie all over the place, and despite Mountie's best attempts to counter, Brody won with the Jumping Knee Drop.
Winner and Still Regional Champion: Bruiser Brody (pinfall).
Aftermath: Brody and Capt. Lou Albano were celebrating in the ring when Ultimate Champion Dan Severn, with Sherri Martel, walked out. Severn entered the ring, challenged Brody to a double-title match at explosion, and then slapped Brody. Albano had to hold Brody back as they accepted the challenge.
After the wrestlers cleared the ring, GM Shon Maxx walked out.
Shon: "Before everyone goes home, I'd like to announce a few things for next week's card. First, the semi-finals for the XTC Title tournament will be Harker Dirge vs. Jimmy Jacobs and Chris Hero vs. Erick Stevens. Also, Richard Hutton has requested a rematch with Delerious, which I've granted. Finally, as a special attraction match, two wrestlers from outside SAGA will compete in our main event. It will be Antonio Rocca agains Jimmy Snuka!"
(Before Shon could say anything else, The Terrible Turk, with Abdullah Farouk, appeared on the SAGA-Tron.)
Farouk: "The Turk wanted to announce that he shall begin his plans to take over this federation at your pay per view. For his first step, he challenges old foe Giant Baba to a final confrontation. Do you accept, Baba?"
(In the back, Giant Baba and his manager, Street Reaper watched.)
Street Reaper: "Giant Baba accepts."

SAGA
7-09
This card would be the last card before the Explosion ppv on 7-13.
1. Savage T vs. Sam Hayne.
Hayne was accompanied to the ring by UltraMantis Black. Savage T gained a shockingly early advantage, flooring Hayne with several flying body attacks. He missed a flying shoulder off the ropes, though, and Hayne slammed him repeatedly to the mat. Hayne went for the Devil Lock, but Savage T reversed it into a trick pin that Hayne nearly got trapped in. Hayne fought back and slammed Savage T-'s head into the outside railing, before bringing him back in for the kill. Hayne went for a top-rope flying ax handle, but Savage T moved. Savage T threw Hayne into the ropes, but Hayne kicked him in the head and threw fire at him while Black distracted the referee and pinned him.
Winner: Sam Hayne (pinfall).
2. Eddie Kingston vs. Cousin Luke.
Although Luke easily outweighed Kingston, the smaller man repeatedly knocked his much-larger opponent down with a variety of strikes. Luke barely had any offense, and Kingston finished him off with the Lariat.
Winner: Eddie Kingston (pinfall).
A clip was shown, previewing the Kowalski/Gotch title match at Explosion.
GM Shon Maxx walked to the ring.
Shon: "Good evening everyone. Well, Explosion is right around the corner, and tonight the wrestlers have their last chance to prepare for it. Also, if you remember last week, I announced that the main event of tonight's card would be a special attraction match between Antonio Rocca and Jimmy Snuka. Unfortunately, neither man could make it tonight so that match is canceled. (The crowd begins booing) Just kidding...jeez, you guys are so sensitive. (The Crowd now begins chanting, "You are evil!") Awww, I knew you loved me. Anyway, the main event of Explosion is World Champion Killer Kowalski facing the number 1 contender, Frank Gotch. I think it's time, though, for these two to meet face-to-face before their big match. So please welcome, Killer Kowalski (Kowalski walks out with Ed Lewis, Timber, and The Belgian Brawler) and Frank Gotch (walks out alone)!"
Kowalski: "Ah, Frank, my old friend. We go way back, don't we. You remember when the three of us started Unmatched Superiority? We lived up to our name as no one could stop us. We truly were the best."
Gotch: "I remember...I also remember you two dropped me from the team the first time I got hurt."
Lewis: "Actually the second...in a matter of weeks. I swear, Frank, you must be made of glass."
Gotch: "It was the same injury. I wrestled immediately after the concussion by your own orders."
Kowalski: "How were we to know you're so weak, Frank? But that matters not, now, does it? What matters is that soon we shall face each other in the ring for the first time in a long time. You've finally got your chance, Frank. The question is, what will you do with it?"
Gotch: "I'll tell you what I'll do with it, Wladek. I'm gonna grab your leg and twist, and we'll see who then is really made of glass! and after you're done screaming and crying like a two-year old, I'm taking your belt!"
Kowalski: "Then we have nothing further to discuss. Good luck to you, Frank. You'll need it."
(Kowalski extended his hand out to Gotch, who slowly, reluctantly accepted. Lewis started to do the same.)
Kowalski: "Oh, Frank, one other thing-"
Kowalski suddenly floored Gotch with an elbow to the head.
"Kowalski: "Gotch-a! You get it? Gotch-A! Ha Ha ha!"
Suddenly, Gotch leaped to his feet and tackled Kowalski. Timber and The Belgian Brawler leaped in and pulled him off as Kowalski and Lewis slipped out of the ring laughing. Shon then stepped in front of Gotch.
Shon: "Easy...you'll get your chance..."
A clip was shown previewing the double-title match between Regional Champion Bruiser Brody and Ultimate Champion Dan Severn.
3. Non-Title Match: Danny Doring vs. Ultimate Champion Dan Severn.
Severn was accompanied to the ring by Sherri Martel. He attacked quickly, but Doring slipped out of the ring and hit a springboard drop kick. He then hit the Danaconda, but Severn kicked out. Doring went for a flying body attack, but Severn moved, and then hit a ground assault. Severn then hit several suplexes before locking the Beast Choker.
Winner: Dan Severn (submission).
4. Rematch: Delirious vs. Richard Hutton.
Hutton started the match in his typical methodical manner, with a takedown and several long holds. Delirious broke free though and fought back with several flying attacks. He went for Chemical Imbalance, but Angelo Mosca ran out and put Hutton's foot on the rope. Hutton then fought back and locked Delirious in a ground abdominal stretch, facing toward the ropes and away from the referee). Delirious wouldn't submit, but Mosca suddenly started hitting the mat near Delirious' hands. The referee thought it was Delirious and stopped the match.
Winner: Richard Hutton (submission).
Aftermath: Mosca grabbed Delirious and threw him out of the ring. Suddenly, Danny Hodge and Pepper Gomez ran out. They pointed to the Saga-Tron that showed what really happened. When the referee saw this, he reversed his decision, saying that the match didn't really end with the submission, but it Did end when Mosca put his hands on Delirious!
Actual Winner: Delirious (DQ).
Aftermath (Take Two): Mosca and Hutton were escorted to the back by security. Hodge and Gomez then left as well so Delirious could celebrate in the ring on his own.
A clip was shown covering the Giant Baba/Terrible Turk feud and their upcoming match at Explosion.
5. Giant Baba vs. Jushin Liger.
Baba was accompanied to the ring by Street Reaper, while Liger was accompanied by Abdullah Farouk. Liger sneak-attacked Baba and dropped him with several kicks and strikes. He then shocked the crowd when he hit his Brainbuster finisher, but Baba kicked out. Baba fought back, tossing Liger around like a rag doll. Liger fought back again and hit another brainbuster, but again, Baba kicked out. Baba countered a striking assault and hit a suplex of his own. He went for the Neckbreaker Drop but missed. Liger went for a top-rope senton but also missed. Baba hit a piledriver, then hit the Neckbreaker drop for the win.
Winner: Giant Baba (pinfall).
Aftermath: Baba started to celebrate in the ring, but Reaper remained at ringside, not looking happy with Baba's seemingly lackluster performance in the ring. The Terrible Turk then appeared on the SAGA-Tron, and the two had a stare-down.
Clips were shown previewing The Mongols facing The Crusher and a partner of his choice at Explosion. At this time, Crusher had not chosen a partner and had even said he was better off without one.
Another clip was shown previewing the 6-man Tag team match at Explosion between The WCC and The Beautiful. Bill Apter was shown on his show, The Hot Seat, with the WCC.
Apter: "Bill Apter here, and I'm here tonight with the Wrestling Conduct Council, the team of The Destroyer, Red Bastein, and The Mountie, and managed by Wild Red Berry. Gentlemen, you have a match at Explosion against Gorgeous George, Buddy Rose, and a partner of their choice with exemption in the Manager's Lottery on the line."
Bastein: "There's more on the line than that. It's about conduct. Wrestlers are expected to conduct themselves in the ring a certain way, but frankly, George, Rose, and their manager Larry Sharpe do the exact opposite."
Berry: "That's right! It's a complete disgrace to this sport and they must be eliminated now!"
Destroyer: "I agree with my colleagues. We are dealing with inferior, immature minds, with behavior that should never been seen on public television. It completely subverts the strong family values this country fights hard to maintain."
Mountie: "And we'll do whatever we need to to get those values back. I may not be American, but I support my team and will whatever they need me to do to get those values back!"
Apter: "Right, what about the rumors that you only chose this those opponents because you thought it would give you an easy match and an easy way to remain exempt from The Manager's Lottery?"
Berry: "How dare you! Red, fine him for that remark!"
Larry Sharpe: "That's how you fight, with paper instead of your fists?"
Berry: "What are you doing here?"
George: "Don't hate us 'cause we're beautiful."
Destroyer: "No, we simply hate you."
Rose: "We just thought you'd like to meet our partner for the match. He's a little rough around the edges, but he'll do nicely for our match."
Suddenly, The Sandman smacked The Mountie over the head with a Singapore cane. He swung it at Destroyer, who ducked. Sharpe started laughing and called his team to leave.
Sharpe: "Still think you'll have an easy time at Explosion? We'll see, little men!"
6. XTC Semi-Finals Tournament Match: Chris Hero vs. Erick Stevens.
Stevens walked out first, entering the ring a pacing from side-to-side. Hero walked out next with Claudio Castologni. Hero took his time, posing as the fans booed. He entered the ring and walked to a corner, climbing the ropes and posing once more. Suddenly, Stevens bolted across the ring and slammed into Hero with a flying body sandwich. He punched him in the corner, then whipped him across the ring. Hero slipped out of the ring and stood with Claudio as Stevens paced in the ring. Hero slipped back in and tried to outsmart his opponent, but Stevens kept knocking him to the mat. Stevens went for the Doctor Bomb, but Hero blocked it by grabbing the rope. Claudio then jumped on the apron to distract Stevens. Hero floored Stevens and hit the Hero's Welcome, but Stevens kicked out. Hero brought him to the corner and started punching him. He then started to stomp him, but Stevens caught his foot and hit a lariat that knocked Hero out cold. Claudio again jumped on the apron, but the referee ordered him to leave. Stevens covered Hero, and the referee counted to three.
Winner: Erick Stevens (pinfall).
Bill Apter, back at the commentator's table, announced that the final match for Explosion had been signed; a mini-battle royal where the winner would be exempt from the Manager's Lottery. However, the catch is that the losers would be eligible for the lottery, whether they have a manager or not.
7. XTC Semi-Finals Tournament Match: Harker Dirge vs. Jimmy Jacobs.
This match went back and forth, with both men bleeding by the 10-minute mark, due to in and out of the ring action. Jacobs looked like he had the match won when Steve Corino and Randy Landell ran out. Jacobs looked to the two, and Dirge took advantage of this, hitting Jacobs with a flying knee to the back, before locking him in the Dirt Nap. Jacobs passed out.
Winner: Harker Dirge (KO).
Aftermath: Dirge left the ring, and Corino and Landell entered to attack Jacobs, getting revenge for Trinity turning on Corino. Trinity then ran out and tried to stop Corino, but he tossed her aside. Suddenly, Tyler Black ran out and cleaned house. Landell and Corino took off, while Black and Trinity helped Jacobs to his feet.
8. Special Attraction Match: Antonio Rocca vs. Jimmy Snuka.
The two entered the ring and shook hands. Snuka floored Rocca, tossing him into the ropes and hitting and backhand strike. He then went for the Superfly Leap about a minute into the match. He hit, but Rocca kicked out. Snuka pounded on Rocca some more and went for a second Superfly Leap, but Rocca moved. Rocca hit several dropkicks that sent Snuka to the floor. Rocca then hit a flying body attack to the floor on Snuka. Rocca threw Snuka back in the ring and caught him in a cradle, but Snuka kicked out. Rocca then locked the Argentina Lock, and Snuka submitted.
Winner: Antonio Rocca (submission).
Aftermath: The two shook hands in the ring, and the crowd cheered, even though the match was surprisingly and disappointedly short (It was under 10 minutes.).
