Sheamus heyday may be gone but he is 46 meaning he is 4 years younger than Edge and 7 years younger than Jericho. He is not nor never has been near them in their prime but can still have a couple years of success in the mid card title or tag team title area.

I do wonder how some of the talent feel when they jumped only to quickly be forgotten. Ruby Soho is one that comes to mind and Saraya another.

I just don't think a response to the criticism that AEW already has too many old WWE guys is to sign another old WWE guy to a full-time deal.

Well I do not think criticism of signing ex WWE guys is fair when the WWE has signed so many guys. Furthermore I do not think it is fair when people want to see talent outside the WWE bubble not to mention having possible matchups with talent that have not been in the WWE, yet, or were not there as the same time as the talent that is there now. But the "they are a former WWE talent" argument has been going on for decades and it will never go away.

I mean with the ladies that they did have some time (but they did in the WWE as well) but signed probably thinking they were going to be pushed to the top but keep getting pushed down by new signings.
Anyways, AEW's way of signing wrestlers just to forget about them for months at a time is always going to be a bit strange to me.

Based on recent events, Tony releasing wrestlers he is no longer using is the only prudent decision he has made.

AEW has too many people doing nothing.
Sadly, I don't watch the product anymore.

All part of the arms race going on between WWE and AEW. It is hard to get air time for everyone but smaller rosters like TNA do a better job if it.

Most territories made do most of the time with about 20 or less regulars. I remember a Gary Hart interview where he said he wanted a roster of 14-18 because more than that and some people were not going to get enough use.
