I want to let everyone know why I won't be posting much on this board anymore. I'm an only child living with my 88-year-old mother who has a bad arthritic left knee that's getting worse. I had to take her to the ER a few weeks ago because she couldn't put any weight on her left leg. They drained a lot of blood out of it, and she could walk much better. However, I had to take her back to the ER again last week because she had problems walking on her left leg again. The whole leg was sore, and not just the knee. They won't drain it again because it could put her at risk for an infection. Surgery isn't an option, and I want to keep her out of a nursing home for as long as possible. She only has Medicare Part A for hospitalization, and she doesn't qualify for Medicaid because of money in our savings account. Worst case scenario: A nursing home would take all of our money, then she'd qualify for Medicaid, but I wouldn't have any money left to pay bills and could possibly lose the house. Mom is my top priority, and she wants to stay home with me.
I use a public library for internet service, and since I'll have to stay home more often, I won't be able to go to the library as much as I used to. Her sister from out of town is at the house visiting with her now. That's why I was able to go to the library and post this. Because I won't be at the library much anymore, I won't be able to post full results of my Rebel Wrestling fed. I've been rolling the dice and writing results on paper like I normally do, but it hasn't been much fun. My heart just isn't in it. It feels like it's just part of my routine, and I'm just going through the motions. It's hard to get lost in a fantasy when real life sucker punches you. Playing the game now has just become a way of killing time and trying to save what's left of my sanity. Unfortunately, Mom's situation won't get any better. It will only get worse. It could be sooner, or it could be later. I sure hope it's later--way later. She has a follow-up with her Dr. tomorrow to get a referral to see an Orthopedist. Don't know when that appointment will be, or if he can do anything that might help her.
Thanks to everyone I've had the pleasure of communicating with through this board. Coming to the library to visit with all of you has always been the highlight of my day. Please wish us luck. We'll need it.

I’m sorry to see this, TopDollar. I hope you can find little things in life to find solace in challenging times. If you get an opportunity to enjoy playing again and want to share fed results but internet access is tough, an old school way could be snail mail to stay in touch with promoters.

Life sure can be tough. Hang in there and enjoy time with your mother. I will pray for the two of you and hope things get better. As far as the game, experience has taught me that time to time one can lose the joy in playing. Best to put it to the side for a bit and when the juices start flowing again you can return to it. Just do what is best for you and your mom.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother. Between 2012-2019 I watched my father's health gradually decline before his eventual death so I know how difficult it can be to cope with.
I'll keep you and your mother in my thoughts and prayers. Spend as much time as you can with her in her final years and try to create some more memories.
Stay strong and I hope we see you back here someday.

Many thanks to all who have commented and checked in. It's very much appreciated. Mom seems to be OK using a walker at the moment, but the scary thing is never knowing when it will change. The two times she's had problems, she got up during the night to go to the bathroom, and she was fine. When she got up again, she couldn't walk. She saw her Dr. yesterday who felt elasticity in her ACL. We have upcoming appointments with orthopedist, physical therapist, and an MRI. If they would have done an MRI earlier like I wanted them to, we'd know more about what may be weakened or torn in her knee. Thanks again to all of you in the Filsinger Games Galaxy!
