Pretty much everything with Godsend and "fate of the universe" didn't sit well with me, although I did enjoy Black Death.

The fate of the Universe hinging on what happened in a wrestling world was bound to happen in a Universe without a Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania to keep those threats at bay.

The New Big Bad Threatening the Universe is an issue in both Marvel and DC also, with both companies feeling compelled to do a big crossover event every year that promises to change everything and inevitably leaves a bunch of things not really as changed as it was hyped up to be.
I can even forgive the fate-of-the-universe stuff if, like I said, the characters are compelling enough. And I really liked Godsend, Nightmare, and Valour a *lot.* I found them all interesting in their own way. The Black Death, in addition to sort of feeling like another kick at the can, didn't offer me characters I could get into and a lot of it was just existing characters acting possessed.

It's a 'wrestling' game, so where would you like them to solve it - I guess is my question. I find myself falling into these traps as well, like the hive mind angle, but then I think it's a futuristic 'wrestling' game, so we suspended disbelief and roll with it. .... or change the story/scale of the battle to better fit your narrative. It's your fed promoter, do what makes you happy. The Aethran hive mind will never be a thing in PREDATOR PROMTIONS, just like the Alpha Stone wasn't fake, it's power just slowly faded away being separated from dimension X for too long. aCe was not Tom's writing, so maybe that's why it's never mentioned, but that was the craziest stuff I've seen in the game. Zombies were actually trying to eat you in the ring, but yet the majority of people loved it.... Angelic and demonic beings fighting in a wrestling ring is harder to accept than wrestling zombies that are literally trying to eat you?!?

I do wish Tom could find a truly top, lead babyface that he could stick with. I know he prefers Villains and finds them more interesting but it's still kind of a failing that Alpha Force washed out and Colossus, Endgame, and Shayne all got turned. Nexus is the best pure babyface in the game's history but he was also never a top guy. The most successful top babyface in the game's history was probably Pegasus and even he had to be a Villain first. As far as overarching storylines, I didn't reach the "this is getting to be too much" point until the Black Death. I was okay with a certain amount of alternate universes, and Godsend was such a great character that he made up for any weaknesses of guys like Petarra and Paladin, but the Black Death is kind of where I reached my breaking point with "the literal fate of the universe is contingent on the outcome of wrestling matches" writing. I do love a 'Captain America' babyface and the more I think about it I think I might agree with this most. I really loved the genesis vs colonizers feud. Can we get more like that. Genesis was the avengers as you had hulk (buck steele), Vertigo I think fits kind of a Hawkeye type, wraith was just a bad ass and max shield was captain America. Man now I miss Max Shield ...

Max Shield is probably in my top 5 and possibly top 3 faces/heroes in GWF history.

Max Shield is probably in my top 5 and possibly top 3 faces/heroes in GWF history. I think that list is probably what: -- Max Shield -- Star Warrior -- Alpha Force -- Raven? Lord Nexus? I mean the problem is that it is really hard to get that fourth face for the Mount Rushmore of only babyfaces no turns ever level. Wolf, Pegasus, etc. all had turns as heels.

I like Endgame, Shayne, Max Shield, Raven (while subtly hating him for feuding with the Glads of course) and Lord Nexus in some order.

Hasn't Shayne been a Villain for longer than he's been a Hero?

Ehh, he's moved to an Indy/hero leaning guy the last couple of years. Basically once Drury left.
