PRO WRESTLING ILLUSTRATED and BILL APTER presents.... WHAT THEY'RE SAYING.
BILL APTER - "How are things between you and Bob Backlund?"
"Bob Backlund and I have talked, and we both have accepted each other's apology. We're both fiery competitors and it was a heat of the moment kind of thing, in a chaotic situation. So, things are good now and we're both looking forward to our 'scientific' title match."
BILL APTER - "Scientific?... So, what about all the talk that you've signed The Grand Wizard as your manager?"
PAT PATTERSON stands up, "This interview is over." and walks out.
BILL APTER - "Thank you Mr. Muraco for sitting down with me. I'd like to talk to you about you're upcoming Intercontinental title defense against Tony Atlas."
"Blah, blah, blah... BLAH. TONY ATLAS?!? Tony Atlas can't carry my bags, Mr. APTER! Tony Atlas has a million-dollar body and a ten cent brain. He can't wrestle and doesn't deserve to share a ring with the magnificent One! I want to talk about Howdy-Doody Backlund and when he's going to give me another shot at the WWF title."
BILL APTER - "That's a question for President Jack Tunney and your manager The Grand Wizard, who seems to have many men going after Backlund and the title. Bob Orton Jr., Sgt Slaughter, yourself and now we're hearing he's signed Pat Patterson. I've also heard rumors that he's even lobbying to bring in the Sheik from Detroit, it seems you're not high on his priority list for the WWF title. He seems content with you holding the Intercontinental title, a prestigious title by the way, and one of his other men to bring the WWF title into the sable."
MURACO looks enraged as he stands up and grabs Bill Apter by the lapels of his sports jacket, before releasing him him and storming out.
BILL APTER - "Breaking news, hot off the presses!!! SGT. SLAUGHTER has fired the Grand Wizard as his manager."
"It's true maggot! Sergent Slaughter is no one's mercenary, I am my own man. The Grand Wizard signing Pat Patterson was the last straw, and I finally saw he had no intention of guiding me to the WWF title. That is all you need to know for now, ten-hut!!!"
