Original Godzilla Orrus is a total bad ass. Thing Orrus is still very good but a bit of a downgrade compared to the original Orrus found in the BEST OF set.
Let’s compare.
Thing Orrus is a better tag wrestler w 2 tags on his card. Godzilla Orrus has none - the ultimate loner. But also designed for singles tournament action. Thing Orrus is a full-time tag fighter w Tarval.
Godzilla Orrus has one less (pw) reversal on L1O, a much stronger L2O w two (c) covers and a (ch F), compared with no (c) covers and a (ch B) for Thing Orrus. A striking difference.
However on L3O, those things are switched w Thing Orrus having two (over out of the ring and deathjump) and Godzilla Orrus having none of course.
Godzilla Orrus makes up for this with one extra - 3 move on L3O.
Godzilla Orrus has a (ch H) on L3O1 while Thing Orrus has a (ch D). That’s prob a push, though some promoters may prefer that (ch D).
Other than that, stat wise they are identical in power.
Both have great art. I much prefer Godzilla Orrus art however.

Art wise, I really like the Thing Orrus version better. I think its the face that sets it off for me, the Godzilla Orrus has a round top of the head and the Thing version has the ridges on top.
Stat wise, I agree with you Rob.

To be honest I have not looked to closely at them. I mostly just check stats to decide which one I use, and I was thinking the stats were the same till I read this. My guess is I checked and went with Godzilla, pretty sure he is the one I use, due to the stats being better and just forgot it was like that.

Interesting discussion so far. When Godzilla Orrus debuted I felt like he was destined for greatness. A future main event guy, maybe even a team leader. Similar to how Sly Drury or Epoch or Mandrill came in. Had future top guy written all over him.
Much as I like Tarval the Trapper, I feel like the Introduction of that character brought Orrus down a few notches. Now he’s a tag wrestler, and they aren’t even the top tag team in their own faction.
With that new Orrus teaser, I’m hoping this is the beginning of big things for that character. He’s always done extremely well in my fed (both cards) giving even the strongest wrestlers the fight of their lives. His double (+1) finishers has always been deadly in my corner of the galaxy. He won his feud against the Basilisk and really needs something new now.
Definitely one of my favorite current characters.

He and Tarval have done really well in my corner of the galaxy as a tag team. They have maintain at the number two ranking just under Siege and Fist. I wouldn't say they are my favorites, but they have surprised me as a tag team. Siege is to strong to beat with his double (+2) finishers. But, I am looking forward to seeing them in the current 2140 edition. |

Thing Orrus has been great in my fed capturing the GWF Satellite Championship in singles and his tag team with Tarval are closing in on the tag straps.
So I'll go with the thing!
