Florida Championship Wrestling Card # 01 Miami, Florida - January 1st, 1980 Southwest Miami Senior High School
1. S.D. Jones defeated Dan Spivey with a Cross Body Block!
This was a good match that ended quickly. S.D. Jones climbed the top rope and came off the top with a cross body block. After the match an irate Dan Spivey grabbed a steel chair and walloped Jones in the back with it. He then grabbed the microphone from the ring announcer and said that he wants a rematch against Jones on the next Super Card! Will Jones accept his challenge? We will find out on the next week’s show.
2. Brickhouse Brown beat Nacho Barrera with a Flying Body Press.
This match was over before it even started. They fought a bit back and forth until Nacho Barrera was sent to the floor and was almost counted out. Brown then tossed him into the ring and hit a Flying Body Press for the victory. After the match Brickhouse Brown tossed Nacho to the floor and cut a promo saying he’s going straight to the top here in Florida Championship Wrestling!
3. Bad News Allen defeated Danny Doring with a Ghetto Blaster.
Fun match that was over quickly. They fought on the floor and then Bad News Allen hit a Ghetto Blaster for the win. After the bout Brickhouse Brown came out and grabbed the microphone. He said to Allen that he wants to face him. Allen said he will not only face him but he will hurt him so bad that he will be leaving in an Ambulance.
4. The New Age Outlaws beat The Fabulous Ones in a wild match!
Great back and forth bout between these two teams. Both sides were nearly put away. Steve Keirn was isolated most of the match and took a ton of punishment. Road Dogg hit his Pump Handle Slam for the victory. After the bout Steve Keirn needed to be helped to the backstage as the show went to an intermission!

5. Boris Zhukov defeated “Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant by disqualification.
Good match. Both men nearly put the other away. When Zhukov was sent out of the ring by Valiant, Valiant grabbed him and whipped him into the steel pole and then followed it up by giving him a spine buster through the ringside table. Jimmy Valiant was immediately disqualified and was escorted from ringside by federation officials.
6. Bob Backlund beat Baron Von Raschke with an Atomic Drop.
Baron Von Raschke had a ton of heat for this match. He got on the microphone before the match and ran down Florida to a chorus of boos. Bob Backlund quickly put him away with an Atomic Drop for the win. As Backlund was celebrating his victory, Baron came from behind and tried to attack him. Backlund grabbed him and tossed him over the top rope to the floor!
7. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper put Kevin Sullivan away with a Sleeper!
This match was wild and fast paced. They spent much of the match on the floor. Piper swung a chair at Sullivan but hit the steel pole instead. Piper tossed him back in the ring and eventually applied a Sleeper for the win!
Notes Coming Out of the Show - Brickhouse Brown and Bad News Allen is scheduled for the next card. There will also be a rematch between Boris Zhukov and “Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant! It was also announced that One Man Gang will appear on the next card plus there will be a Special Ladies Attraction Match!

Florida Championship Wrestling Card # 02 Miami, Florida - January 8th, 1980 Southwest Miami Senior High School
Show opens with S.D. Jones coming to ringside. He tells Gordon Solie that he will face Dan Spivey at the first Super Card! This brought out Dan Spivey. They bot shoved each other before federation officials came down and separated them.
Sherri Martel defeated Luna Vachon with a Top Rope Splash!
Short but good back and forth match to kick off the show. They fought a bit on the floor. Once the action got back in the ring, Sherri Martel went on the attack and slammed Vachon in the center of the ring. She then climbed the top rope and hit a BIG SPLASH for the victory.
Danny Doring beat Baron Von Raschke with a G Spot Sweep.
This was a great match with plenty of action. Danny Doring and Baron fought on the floor. They brawled around ringside before bringing the action back into the ring. Danny Doring hit the Danaconda for two near falls and then hit the G Spot Sweep for the pin. Fun Match.
Mr. Saito and Mr. Fuji defeated The U.S. Express when Mr. Fuji hit a Middle Rope Splash on Barry Windham
Good match between these two teams. After the bell the two teams brawled around ringside. Once the two teams were separated, Mike Rotunda got on the microphone and issued a challenge to them on the Super Card that is coming up. Saito took the microphone from the ring announcer and said that they gladly accept.
Bad News Allen beat Brickhouse Brown by pinfall.
This was an excellent match. Both men nearly put the other with their finishing moves. They fought on the floor quite a lot but eventually brought the action back in the ring and Bad News Allen got the pinfall victory.

“Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant defeated Boris Zhukov by disqualification.
Wild match that ended up on the floor. Boris Zhukov was disqualified when he took his flag pole and rammed it into the throat of Valiant. Valiant needed to be helped to the backstage area.
Kevin Sullivan defeated King Kong Bundy with a Piledriver!
Awesome match with plenty of big action. Bundy hit his Atlantic City Avalanche but Sullivan some how kicked out of it. Sullivan would go on to hit a piledriver for the win. The fans were really into this match.
One Man Gang beat “Rowdy” Roddy Piper with a 747 Splash.
One Man Gang made easy work of Roddy Piper. After the match, One Man Gang issued an open challenge to anyone. Bob Backlund came out and accepted the challenge. The ring announcer said they will be back next week with another big card of pro wrestling action.
Notes Coming Out of the Show - “Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant will face Boris Zhukov in a No DQ Match at the next Super Card! It was also announced that Wahoo McDaniel will face Missing Link on the next card!

Florida Championship Wrestling Card # 03 Miami, Florida - January 15th, 1980 Southwest Miami Senior High School
Brickhouse Brown defeated Danny Doring with a Flying Body Press.
Excellent match between these two to kick off the show. Brickhouse Brown nearly put Danny Doring away several times but could not get the job done. He eventually hit the Flying Body Press for the pin and the win. The fans cheered loudly for Brown as he was celebrating his victory.
Chyna defeated Luna Vachon with a Power Bomb.
This was a one sided match that was over very quickly. After Chyna hit the power bomb and got the pin, she gave Luna Vachon a press slam to the arena floor. She then followed it up by giving Luna a hot shot on the guard rail. Eventually federation officials came out but the damage was done!
Baron Von Raschke beat Tracy Smothers by pinfall.
Good but short match. It took a few attempts for Baron Von Raschke to put away Tracy Smothers but he eventually got the job done. After the bell, Baron tossed Tracy Smothers to the floor and then posed in the center of the ring to a chorus of boos. He then made his way to the backstage area as the fans pelted him with garbage.
Bad News Allen defeated “Rowdy” Roddy Piper with a Ghetto Blaster.
Good match that saw Bad News Allen put Piper away quickly with the Ghetto Blaster. Bad News Allen now advances in the FCW Heavyweight championship tournament. The fans didn’t take too kindly to Bad News winning the bout and eliminating crowd favorite Roddy Piper.

Bob Backlund beat King Kong Bundy with a Cross Face Chicken Wing.
King Kong Bundy had a real tough time staying on offense. Bob Backlund applied the Cross Face Chicken Wing for the submission win. He will now go on to the next round of the FCW Heavyweight championship tournament where he will face Bad News Allen in the next round. Bundy was really ticked off that he lost and ended up shoving the referee to the mat before walking to the backstage.
One Man Gang defeated Kevin Sullivan with a 747 Splash
Good match. One Man Gang had to give Kevin Sullivan two 747 Splashes to get the win. One Man Gang now moves onto the next round in the FCW Heavyweight championship tournament that will conclude at the “Gold Rush” Super Card that is coming up soon!
Wahoo McDaniel beat Missing Link by count out!
Wahoo McDaniel chopped Missing Link a bunch of times which really wore down Link. They fought on the floor where McDaniel slammed him on the floor. Missing Link could not make the referee’s count. Wahoo McDaniel will now move on to the next round of the championship tournament where he will face The One Man Gang!
Notes Coming Out of the Show - The FCW Heavyweight championship tournament continues on with first round matches at the next event. The championship will be decided with the conclusion of the tournament at the “Gold Rush” Super Card! Florida Championship Wrestling Card # 04 Miami, Florida - January 22nd, 1980 Southwest Miami Senior High School
Tracy Smothers defeated Danny Doring by pinfall.
This was a very entertaining match that had Tracy Smothers almost put away by Doring. They traded whips into the turnbuckle and eventually Tracy Smothers pinned Danny Doring. The fans were really behind Tracy Smothers in this bout. Doring was not a fan favorite and he yelled at members of the crowd a few times. Tracy Smothers celebrated his victory as Doring made his way to the backstage area with the fans at ringside telling him he is nothing but a bum!
Sherri Martel beat Jacqueline with a Top Rope Splash!
Great competitive match. Both women nearly beat the other. Sherri Martel eventually hit the Top Rope Splash. Jacqueline needed to be helped to the backstage area by referees. The fans cheered her as she slowly made her way to the backstage area. Excellent contest.
Baron Von Raschke defeated Eric the Red with a Brain Claw!
Good match. The fans did not take to kindly to Baron’s antics. Eric the Red had the fans with him throughout the bout. At one point Eric the Red almost beat Baron but Baron went on to apply the Brain Claw for the win.
Paul Ellering beat “Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant by disqualification.
It was a good match until “Boogie Woogie Man” got out of control and shoved down the referee as the referee was trying him to break a hold. Paul Ellering now moves on to the “Gold Rush” Super Card to compete for the FCW Heavyweight championship. The show then went to an Intermission!

Jimmy Snuka pinned Ken Shamrock.
Ken Shamrock almost made Jimmy Snuka tap out to his Ankle Lock. They fought on the floor a bit. The referee got knocked down and Shamrock was on offense for most of the time the referee was out. Jimmy Snuka hit a cross body off the top for the pin. Jimmy Snuka now moves on to the “Gold Rush” Super card to compete for the FCW Heavyweight strap.
Harley Race defeated Mark Henry with a Diving Headbutt!
Good match with lots of back and forth action. Harley Race hit the Diving Headbutt for the pin and the win and will now go to Gold Rush to compete in the tournament!
Antonio Inoki beat “Macho Man” Randy Savage with an Enzuigiri!
This was an excellent match. Both men hit big moves but couldn’t defeat the other. Antonio Inoki eventually hit an ENZUIGIRI for the win. Antonio Inoki is a strong favorite in the tournament now that Randy Savage has been eliminated from the tournament. Inoki will now go on to face Harley Race in the next round in the tournament!

Florida Championship Wrestling - Gold Rush (Super Card # 01) Miami, Florida - January 26th, 1980 Southwest Miami Senior High School
Bad News Allen defeated Bob Backlund with a Missile Dropkick from the top rope to advance.
Bad News Allen surprised everyone by beating the odds on favorite to win the whole tournament - Bob Backlund. Bob Backlund almost put Bad News Allen away with an Atomic Drop but couldn’t get the win. Bad News then hit the missile dropkick for the pin to advance to the next round.
Wahoo McDaniel put One Man Gang away with a series of chops!
It was a short but competitive match. Wahoo McDaniel will now go on to face Bad News Allen in the next round of the tournament.
Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka defeated Paul Ellering with a Superfly Leap to advance!
Good match. Paul Ellering and Snuka traded big offensive moves but couldn’t defeat the other. Snuka eventually got control and slammed Ellering in the center of the ring. He then climbed to the top turnbuckle and hit his Superfly Leap to get the win and to advance in the tournament!
Harley Race defeated Antonio Inoki with a Piledriver to move on to the next round!
Short but fun match. Inoki was on offense at the beginning of the bout but Race eventually took over and gave him a Piledriver for the pin. The fans were into the match and cheered Inoki as he made his way to the backstage area. The show then went to an intermission!

Wahoo McDaniel beat Bad News Allen with a Falling Chop to advance to the finals of the tournament.
Great match with lots of action. Wahoo hit multiple chops to Bad News Allen. He eventually got the win when he hit a Falling Chop and he now moves on to the finals of the tournament to compete for the FCW Heavyweight championship! Harley Race defeated “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka with a back breaker to advance to the finals of the tournament.
Short match. Both men were feeling worn out after wrestling a lot on the show. After the match Harley Race cut a killer promo on Wahoo McDaniel saying that he is going to beat him and become the first champion in Florida Championship Wrestling. This brought out Wahoo McDaniel and they had their championship match!
Harley Race defeated Wahoo McDaniel with a Piledriver to become FCW Heavyweight champion!
This was an amazing match that could have gone either way. The fans were on their feet for the whole match. Harley Race hit a Piledriver to beat Wahoo McDaniel and to win the FCW Heavyweight strap! The fans were a little disappointed that Wahoo didn’t win. After the match Harley Race cut a promo McDaniel which lead to a huge brawl to end the show.
Notes coming out of the show - It was announced in the event program for tonight’s event that there is going to a weekly TV show called FCW Power Hour which will be hitting the airwaves on Sundays in February! Be sure to tune in as things are going to get wild here in Florida Championship Wrestling!

Florida Championship Wrestling Card # 05 Miami, Florida - January 29th, 1980 Southwest Miami Senior High School
Bob Roop defeated Koko B. Ware with a Shoulder Breaker.
Short but good match to kick off the show. Koko B. Ware was on offense for some of the match but Bob Roop recovered and eventually hit a SHOULDER BREAKER for the pin and the win. After the match Koko B. Ware slapped hands with all the ringside fans as he made his way to the backstage area.
The Sheepherders defeated The Samoan Swat Team when they hit a Double Gut Buster on Afa Jr.
Excellent tag team contest. The Sheepherders were on offense a lot and hit all their usual moves. Eventually they hit a Double Gut Buster and despite Samu’s interference, they got the pin for the win. The fans went crazy when The Sheepherders got the pin.
Jacqueline defeated Chyna with a Tornado DDT.
Fantastic match with plenty of near falls. Jacqueline had a hard time putting Chyna but eventually hit the TORNADO DDT for the win.
Pirata Morgan defeated Tracy Smothers by Count Out!
Excellent match. Both men put on a great match that had the fans into it the whole time. Pirata Morgan had a rough time putting down Tracy Smothers until they went to the floor. Pirata gave Tracy Smothers a hot shot on the guard rail and Tracy Smothers could not make it back into the ring in time!
*****INTERMISSION*****
Disco Inferno pinned Danny Doring.
Good match. Disco Inferno was on offense for most of the match and eventually got Danny Doring down long enough to get the pin and the win!
“Ravishing” Rick Rude defeated Konnan by disqualification!
Awesome match between these two. Rude hit a Rude Awakening but Konnan was able to kick out. Konnan hit his finisher - the Niagara Driver but couldn’t put Rude away. The match went to the floor where Konnan shoved down the referee for the disqualification.
Sgt. Slaughter defeated “Macho Man” Randy Savage with a Cobra Clutch.
In the main event of the show Sgt. Slaughter defeated fan favorite Randy Savage with a COBRA CLUTCH! It was a good match. After the match Randy Savage slapped hands with all the ringside fans as he made his way backstage.
The ring announcer then grabbed the microphone and said that FCW Power Hour TV will air this Sunday and not to miss it.
Notes Coming Out of the Show - FCW Power Hour TV Episode one will air on Sunday. What will happen on the first edition? We will find out!

Florida Championship Wrestling - FCW Power Hour TV Episode # 01 Miami, Florida - February 3rd, 1980 Southwest Miami Senior High School
Commentators - Jim Ross and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan
After the opening video we are brought to the commentary table.
Jim Ross: Welcome everyone to FCW Power Hour TV! I’m your host Jim Ross along with Bobby “The Brain” Heenan! Bobby “The Brain” Heenan: In tonight’s main event we have Louie Spicolli taking on The Great Malenko in a TV Title First Round Tournament match! Right now though we have a few words with our newly crowned Heavyweight champion - Harley Race!
Harley Race is seen with the FCW Heavyweight championship around his waist. He is wearing a black leather jacket that is unzipped and is wearing a blue and white singlet.
Harley Race: Wahoo McDaniel, we have some unfinished business. You want a shot at my strap? You got it. See you at Super Clash!
We go back to our commentators who say that after the commercial break we are going to have a match between Wilbur Snyder and Super Crazy in a FCW Television championship tournament match!
*COMMERCIAL BREAK*
Super Crazy defeated Wilbur Synder by pinfall.
This was a good match. Wilbur Synder lost his debut match and is eliminated from the FCW Television tournament. Super Crazy surprised him with a roll up to get the win and he now advances to the next round in the tournament.
It was then announced that next week we will see Mr. Saito taking on Simon Gotch and Danny Doring taking on Rick Rude in FCW Television tournament matches!
*COMMERCIAL BREAK*
We come back from the break and we see “The Queen of Extreme” Francine. She says she is watching all the matches here in Florida Championship Wrestling and is scouting for talent for her to manage.
We then go to the ring for our next match on the show.
The Great Malenko beat Louie Spicolli with a Russian Sickle.
Very short match that saw all the action coming from The Great Malenko. As Malenko was celebrating his victory, Louie Spicolli came from behind and hit him in the back with a steel chair a few times! The Great Malenko will now go to the next round where he will take on Super Crazy.
The shot then goes to our commentators who remind us that next week we are going to see Mr. Saito and Simon Gotch square off. Jim Ross also said that we will see Danny Doring taking on Rick Rude in the main event. The commentators say so long and remind us there is a show this Tuesday at the Southwest Miami Senior High School at 8pm and not to miss it!
The show then went off the air.
Notes coming out of the show: We’ve got the main event of Super Clash set. It’s going to be FCW Heavyweight champion Harley Race defending his strap against Wahoo McDaniel! More matches will be announced as we get closer to the big show!

Florida Championship Wrestling Card # 06 Miami, Florida - February 5th, 1980 Southwest Miami Senior High School
Simon Gotch defeated JTG with a Gotch Piledriver.
Good match to kick off the show. Simon Gotch nearly put away JTG early. They fought on the floor a bit but the action was mostly in the ring. Simon Gotch hit the Gotch Piledriver for the pin and the win.
Super Crazy beat Baron Von Raschke with a Triple Moonsault.
Excellent match between these two greats. Baron almost had Crazy down and defeated but Crazy came back and gave Baron a Triple Moonsault! After the match as Baron was walking back to the backstage area, he pelted with garbage.
The Pitbulls defeated Danny Doring and Roadkill when Pitbull # 1 pinned Danny Doring.
Fun tag team match with these two teams. After the bout Roadkill came in and he went after The Pitbulls. The two teams brawled all around ringside and to the backstage area. This is not the last we will see from these two teams.
The Great Malenko beat Louie Spicolli with a cross body block from the top.
Very short match. The Great Malenko quickly hit the cross body block from the top for the pin and the win. Louie was ticked off because he lost. This brought the show to an intermission.

Mr. Saito defeated Wilbur Synder with a Saito Suplex.
A short one sided bout. Wilbur Synder was ticked off because he lost another match. Mr. Saito looked good in this match, getting a big win over the tough Synder. Wilbur was kicking the ropes in anger after the bout before making his way to the backstage area.
Sgt. Slaughter beat Nikita Koloff with a Cobra Clutch.
The best match so far in Florida Championship Wrestling history. Both men went back and forth and hit some big moves. Slaughter got the win after applying a Cobra Clutch. After the bout the two men brawled to the backstage area. Excellent match and they will be facing each other again after that wild match!
Paul Orndorff defeated “Ravishing” Rick Rude with a Jumping Piledriver.
Great match to end the show. Rude hit a Rude Awakening but couldn’t put Paul away. As fans were leaving Paul Orndorff grabbed the microphone and thanked the fans for coming out and said and that they will be back next week with another great card.
The ring announcer then took the microphone and said that on the next episode of FCW Power Hour we will see two more matches in the FCW Television championship tournament. He said stay tuned to FCW Power Hour as we got closer to the Super Clash Super Card!
Notes coming out of the show - We saw the start of two feuds here in FCW. The Pitbulls and Roadkill and Danny Doring are at each other’s throats. We haven’t seen the last of these two teams. Plus, Sgt. Slaughter and Nikita Koloff aren’t too friendly towards each other. Things are getting wild here in Florida Championship Wrestling!
