There's two within 30 miles of Jamestown. I won't have a car there and was wondering if anybody would be interested in getting up and running with me in a 5k. There is one in Westfield which is a fundraiser for a daycare and there is one in Mayville which is a Memorial for a Sheriff. I know you get a tshirt for the Daycare race, which I'd love to get. Neither should interfere with GCon activities as the races are at 8:30 or 9:00 depending on which we choose.
Anyone interested?

Hey I may be game, now that I know a 5k is only 3.1 miles. THough I run daily I don't know if I could run the whole thing, but I can do it for sure. I'll have a car too. Is there an entry fee?

How awesome would an actual Galacticon 5-K be?

How awesome would an actual Galacticon 5-K be? Not very awesome! Most of us are out of shape and speaking from my own experience...need a donut break between Kilometers... ;D

I obviously can't do it this year but if this time next year I am fully recovered from the heart transplant I will run it with whoever else decides to join up.

Grant, a little too late. There was an entry fee, but I've decided since I only see you guys once a year I'll play in the MITB ladder match at Bob Evan's. Come and join us! Yes, there is a $20 fee, but you get a t-shirt for some Sheriff's Memorial. I found a 5k to run the following weekend only 15 minutes from my house, so I'm going to focus on CotG only this weekend. Perhaps next year, Grant, Todd, Rob, a few others, we can have the first ever GCon 5k. I'd even spring to get us t-shirts, walkers invited too! Come and see lovely Jamestown, NY.

Cool, I'm up for it next year for sure. By that point I will have ran a couple 5Ks and maybe a 10K. We just need a flashy team name.

My wife and I are gearing up with another couple who are friends of ours to all do a 10K by next spring. If we're successful, maybe I'll participate next year as well.
