Over the Wall Brawl Sundome; Tampa, Fl
-Giant Baba defeats Ox Baker w/ a back suplex. After withstanding an early offensive explosion from Baba, Baker was able to neutralize the match, but could never take control, and was essentially delaying the inevitable as Giant Baba was too much for the 300 pounder.
-The Midnight Express defeat The Killer Bee’s as Stan Lane hits a Rocket Launcher on Jim Brunzell This match featured 2 teams taking a lot of time to feel each other out. A back and forth match where seemingly every time one team would take the advantage the other would tag out. Lane and Eaton took very little punishment the entire match, which came to an abrupt end as Lane hit Brunzell with a Rocket Launcher seemingly out of nowhere.
-Harley Race wins a 20 man over the top rope royal rumble for the MFWA World Championship by eliminating Hawk in the 52nd minute. The Road Warriors dominated this match basically from start to finish…but it was Harley Race who was standing over them at the end. Animal, the sixth entrant into the Rumble was in the ring 39 minutes and 31 seconds and eliminated a Rumble coleading 4 men before Race disposed of him. His tag team partner Hawk was the ninth man to join the fray and also eliminated 4 men in his 37 minutes and 21 seconds before being the final casualty before Race claimed his crown. King Kong Bundy was the fourth competitor and withstood everyone’s best shot for a Rumble record 41 minutes and 57 seconds before the Road Warriors teamed up on him, with Hawk throwing him over the top rope.

Nick Bockwinkel defeats Hacksaw Jim Duggan as Duggan submits to the Bockwinkel Sleeper Bockwinkel dominated this short match from the very beginning. After countering a vertical suplex Bockwinkel sent Duggan to the ground with a vicious running clothesline. After gaining two near submissions with a Figure Four Leglock and a Bockwinkel sleeper, Nick took things to the arena floor viciously driving Duggan’s head into the ringpost. This was all the damage needed for Nick to gain a submission victory with his patented Sleeper.
Road to Gold Tournament for the Tag Team Championship: First Round The Valiant Brothers defeat The Dream Team when Brutus Beefcake taps out as a result of Johnny Valiant’s Boston Crab. This battle saw the Valiants dominate the match, as they used tremendous teamwork and crushing double clotheslines to turn Greg Valentine into a non factor. This left Beefcake in the ring to fend for himself. Brutus managed to kick out of a Spinning Neckbreaker, but Valiant followed this up with a Boston Crab. The Hammer was too far out of the match to realize his partners need for help, and Beefcake had no option but to tap out. The Valiant’s will move forward to face the winner of tonight’s main event in the semifinals of the Road to Gold Tournament
Killer Kowalski defeats Giant Baba by Countout after Piledriving him onto the concrete floor. These guys attacked each other early and often, and while pins were attempted frequently, none of the action in the ring was close to producing a victory for either combatant. Lat in the match Kowalski left his comfort zone and drilled Giant Baba with a devastating Cross-Body block. After a move like that couldn’t earn him a victory he decided to take things to the floor, tossing Baba out, and following him to the floor. Using this opportunity, he knocked Baba cold on the concrete floor with a straight piledriver.
Road to Gold Tournament for the Tag Team Championship: First Round The Foreign Legion defeats the Road Warriors with Nikolai Volkoff pinning Animal after a throat drop on the ropes. In a match that took only a minute and a half Sheik and Volkoff absolutely dominated Animal. Hawk had to come in to save Animal from a Camel Clutch at the hands of the Iron Sheik, but momentum would not turn as Volkoff stunningly finished Animal off with a throat drop on the ropes. After the match Sheik and Volkoff ran backstage, as Animal pleads with the referee that Volkoff had used the ropes for illegal leverage during the pin. Nonetheless, the referee’s decision stands and the Foreign Legion will advance to face the Valliant Brothers in the semifinals of the Road to Gold tournament.
The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase obviously livid over his quick elimination at the hands of Hawk begins berating the Road Warriors. As Hawk comes down to challenge Dibiase, he is blindsided by King Kong Bundy. As animal tries to help out his fallen partner Dibiase and Virgil team up on him to take him out. Money Mountain then leaves and the Million Dollar Man laughs over his victims.

Friday Fury Conn Gymnasium; Temple Terrace, Fl
Jimmy Superfly Snuka defeats Cowboy Bob Orton by pinfall with a sunset flip. In a contest that went back and forth for what seemed like a half hour Orton got an early advantage; after taking control he was able to hit Snuka with a wicked Superplex off the top rope. As he made the cover for what seemed like a sure win, Captain Lou Albano came onto the ring apron, and managed to distract the referee long enough to allow Snuka to recover. The match continued for a while after this with several attempted pinfalls, all of which were kicked out of easily. Finally Orton countered a headlock by sending Snuka into the ropes while preparing to hit a backdrop Snuka was able counter it into a sunset flip for a stunning 3 count.
Road to Gold Tournament for the Tag Team Championship-First Round Money Mountain defeats the Killer Bees after Jim Brunzell submits to a Ted Dibiase figure-four leglock. Early in the match the Bees used great teamwork tagging in and out of the ring, managing to stay fresh. At the same time Bundy suffered mounting damage at the hands of Blair, being hit by two Bee Stings. Dibiase saved him from a pinfall after the second. Once Bundy tagged out Dibiase took things into his own hands. After battling with both Bees he was able to take command when Brunzell missed a standing dropkick. Dibiase then hit him with his patented vertical suplex, and then finished him off with a figure-four leglock. Jim tried to hang in there long enough for his partner to save him from the submission, but after Bundy came in to derail the attempt of Blair to break the hold, Brunzell had no option left but to give up under the excruciating pain. Money Mountain has earned a spot in the semifinals of the Road to Gold tournament against the winner of tonight’s main event.
Buddy Rogers defeats Ox Baker by disqualification. After Rogers took an early advantage Baker fled the ring, coxing Rogers to follow to the arena floor. Once outside Baker crushed Rogers with chair. After Rogers recovered he attacked Baker, and it took a dozen federation officials to separate them. The referee had no other option but to disqualify Baker.
Road to Gold Tournament for the Tag Team Championship-First Round The Midnight Express w/ Jim Cornette defeat So Flow as Bobby Eaton pins Koko B. Ware with a Veg-O-Matic This match lasted all of 20 seconds. Eaton threw Ware into the turnbuckle, and as Koko bounced off Eaton hit him with a beautiful running slingshot. He then used a Veg-O-Matic to knock Ware out. Brazil managed to break up the pin, but the ref forced him to clear out of the ring Lane assisted Eaton with another Veg-O-Matic, finishing off the bird man. The Midnight Express move into the semifinals of the Road to Gold tournament; they will meet Money Mountain.

Saturday Supercard Florida State Fairgrounds Tampa, Fl
Killer Kowalski defeats Hacksaw Jim Duggan when Duggan submits to a Claw Hold. Kowalski used his power to take control of the match early, and after a couple near-falls locked Duggan in a Claw Hold. While it looked like Duggan was going to have to submit, he hit Kowalski with a vicious desperation thumb in the eye to break the hold. While Duggan was lying on the matt trying to catch his breath Kowalski went to the top rope to attempt a splash, however, Duggan got his knee up and managed drill Kowalski in the face. From this point on Duggan would frequently take brief openings to attack Kowalski; however the Killer’s superior Agility and Power helped him to negate several offensive attempts from Duggan. In the end Kowalski managed to apply his Claw Hold on Duggan, who was already to weakened to have any chance of breaking the hold.
Road to Gold Tournament for the Tag Team Championship-Semifinal The Valiant Bros defeat the Foreign Legion as Johnny Valiant pinned Iron Sheik after a Top Rope Elbow. The Valiants did a great job of wrestling as a tag team as they worked together to isolate the Iron Sheik in the ring. They hit him with a double clothesline and a couple top rope elbows, giving them an easy victory. Volkoff, who never entered the match seemed bent out of shape, as he walked back to the locker room, leaving his fallen partner in the ring.
Buddy Rogers defeats Ox Baker by pinfall with a Piledrive. Ox Baker took it control early, and hit Rogers with a barrage of Shoulder Breakers, Neckbreakers, and Clotheslines. It seemed this match was going to come to an early conclusion as Baker managed to connect on Rogers with his dreaded Heart Punch. Rogers managed, however, to kick out at the last split second. Baker couldn’t believe it, and never could manage to regain his focus following his shock. Rogers took advantage of this opening and manhandled Baker from this point on, final putting him away with a vicious piledriver.
Money Mountain defeats The Midnight Express as Bobby Eaton gets disqualified for brawling on the arena floor. Early in the match Bundy manhandled Stan Lane who was no match for the big mountains power. King Kong tossed Lane into the turnbuckle and crushed him with an Avalanche, but the pin was not counted as Cornette managed to distract the referee. Bundy hit Lane with another Avalanche, who was only saved by his partner Bobby Eaton, who rushed in to break up the fall. Not to be deterred Bundy hit a third Avalanche on Stan who was once again saved by a distraction from Jim Cornette. Finally the Mountain hit a FOURTH AVALANCHE on the Expresser, only to be deterred by a chagrining Animal who came to the ring to attack Dibiase. This distraction gave Lane the opportunity to tag out to Eaton who went to work on Bundy. After Dibiase got into the match and had battled with Eaton for some time, Eaton threw him outside the ring and began brawling with him out on the arena floor. The referee, who had finally had enough decided to disqualify the Midnight Express, allowing Money Mountain to move into the championship against the Valiant Brothers at Legends of Wrestling next month.
MFWA World Title Match Harley Race (c) defeats Nick Bockwinkel with a Piledriver for the pin. Race and Bockwinkel traded devastating blows for the majority of this match. Though neither man could hold an advantage for long, Race took advantage of an opening to seal the win and retain his title. Bockwinkel used an advantage to throw Race out of the ring. Race, however, managed to grab Bockwinkel’s leg, pulling him outside and ramming him into the steel ring post. He tossed the weakened Bockwinkel back into the ring, and hit him with two of his signature Piledrivers to finish the challenger off.
