Coming Up...- The lineup for the next round of the Legends Cup will be:
- Steve Williams vs. Andre the Giant
- Frank Gotch vs. Gorgeous George
- Jim Londos vs. Buddy Rogers
- Bret Hart vs. Bryan Danielson
- The winners in the next round will face off in the semi-finals and then go on to the final 60-Minute Iron Man match. This happens in the next post, along with the results of the PWI Top Five voting.
Notes- Man, the Ortons and the Road Warriors put on a heckuva match!
- Go Les Thatcher! I hardly knew ye. But I'm a fan now.
- That Gorgeous George/Eddie Kingston match had to set a new record. Ouch.
- I'm saddened that Mil Mascaras lost in the first round. Last year, he went all the way to the finals and lost at 59:30 to Rikidozan in one of the best matches I've ever witnessed. I was hoping he'd carry that into this year's Cup. But it was not meant to be.
- Gotch and Pesek seem cut from the same mold. Both are highly skilled and very nasty -- at least that's how the dice play them. And, yes, the ref's name was Jack Pesek. Not a storyline. Just rolled him up. I'm sure there'll be some heat between Pesek and Londos considering Londos turned the match into a shoot and then busted Pesek open hardway with his boot. I'm seeing some vintage guys joining the LWF roster soon!
- And in case anyone is wondering, I use an Event chart when I play. That's where some of this weird pre and post match stuff comes from. I don't always follow the event chart. But sometimes I do.

- Weight: 2
[/li][/ul] [/li][li] Rikidozan vs. Gene Kiniski - I Quit Match (LWF201 - 2009)- Rikidozan was a newly crowned champ in need of legitimacy and respect. Gene Kiniski was a certified badass looking to put the hurt on someone and win a title. This match was the culmination of a series of matches between these two. At the end of this feud, Rikidozan would earn the respect of a champion and cement himself in the LWF as someone besides the guy who got the belt after Snuka.
- Weight: 4

Gotch spits on him and makes his way out of the arena. FINAL SCORE: Bret Hart (4), Frank Gotch (3)
Notes- Match of the Night... A toss-up between Hart/Gotch and Gotch/Williams.
- Overall, matches were not as memorable as last year's Legends Cup. The Gotch/Hart match was very one-sided with Hart getting about 70% of the offense in.
- PWI Top Five winners will be announced soon. Just too tired to post them right now.
- The Brody/Abdullah match was surprisingly realistic. Played out about like all their matches did. It was a blast.
- Not sure what's going on with Gotch and the Ortons. I didn't even know there was a connection until I rolled up that event. That was costly to Gotch. But there's still no way he would've won the Legends Cup. Hart was that dominant in the finals. Don't tell Gotch that though. He likely thinks that was the reason he lost...
What does winning the Legends Cup mean?- Lots of bragging rights. You really did beat the best of the best.
- A guaranteed spot on the LWF Contender Ladder for the next season. Most competitors have to fight to get on the ladder. The Legends Cup winner starts out on it.
- So it's not as good as winning Money in the Bank. But it's not a lump of coal either.
The Rest of This Season- I'll be cutting this season a little short due to restrictions on my time over the last few months that caused me to fall behind.
- Instead of 5 more events to LegendsMania, we will only have two.
- That will end the 2009-2010 season. A 6-9 event off-season of Ring of Victory will begin shortly thereafter.
- The LWF will kickstart again following the off-season in either July or August. Off-season events will still be posted in this thread. So no worries. The dice will keep rolling!

Notes- Hulk Hogan thinks he missed the Top Five because of his loss to Thesz at LWF204. Hogan blames Bobo Brazil for costing him his shot at recognition.
- Nick Bockwinkel expressed dismay that PWI would rank the LWF's greatest champion so low on their Decade list. He simply couldn't fathom why he was ranked below Harley Race and Superstar Graham. He questioned whether it was time to end his hiatus and remind the LWF why he is the greatest LWF champion of all time.
Coming Soon on LWF206- Sherri Martel cashes in her rematch clause for the LWF Women's Championship
- This is Trinity DeNucci's first title defense.
- Sherri Martel is exercising her rematch clause.
- Frank Gotch and Bryan Danielson try to reach an agreement at who gets a shot at Rikidozan's title
- The wrestler who takes the final fall at Warvivor Series typically gets a shot at the LWF World Title.
- This year both Danielson and Gotch teamed-up to force George Hackenschmidt to submit.
- Larry Zybysko has to cash in his Money in the Bank before the 2010 Money in the Bank ladder match at Legendsmania.
- Zybysko weighs too much to challenge for the Legends Heritage title. And he likely will not get a shot at the LWF World Title before the next Money in the Bank match.
- What's he thinking?
- The High Flyers (Jim Brunzell & Greg Gagne) return to action in a Grudge Match against Skull Murphy & Killer Kowalski!
- Match will not be stopped because of blood. Count-Out will be a 20 count.
- High Flyers are 1-0-2 on the series. They are returning from injury after a beatdown following their last match with Murphy & Kowalski.
- If the High Flyers win, they'll move into the #3 spot and get a shot at the LWF Tag Titles at Legendsmania
- The Valiants face off against the Fantastics.
- Two former LWF Tag Team title holders square off for their last hurrah in the waning 2009-2010 season.
- The Valiants are 1-2 in the series and lost their Tag Titles to the Fantastics at LWF196.
- The Fantastics were ranked higher than The Valiants on the PWI Top Five despite the Valiants winning the LWF Tag Titles for the second time this season -- a feat no other tag-team has duplicated.
- If the Valiants can win, they will move up for a possible shot at the LWF Tag Titles at Legendsmania -- assuming the High Flyers lose in their match against Skull Murphy & Killer Kowalski.
- The loser of this match will drop out of the Top 3 ranking for the LWF Tag Title. Meaning this could be the last time we see either team compete this season.
- Also in action: Bobo Brazil, The Iron Sheik, Chief Jay Strongbow and more!

Notes
- Match of the Night... Danielson/Gotch by a long shot.
- Kowalski/Murphy vs. The High Flyers was one of the worst feud endings I've had since Strangler Lewis/Jimmy Snuka in 2008. Maybe the Flyers tried to come back too early from injury?
- The PWI 2009-2010 Award Nominees will be announced soon.
- Gotch wants a match against Hackenschmidt. Brazil wants a match against Hogan. Things are shaping up for Legendsmania.
- Lots of run-ins and interference in this event. Dice just went that way. Not characteristic of most of my cards.

Can't reach the ropes. DANIELSON TAPS!
- After the match, Rikidozan shakes Danielson's hand. Danielson has clearly held his own against the LWF champion. As Rikidozan holds up Danielson's hand in a sign of respect, Larry Zybysko's music ("Life's Been Good To Me So Far" by Joe Walsh) hits. ZYBYSKO IS CASHING IN MONEY IN THE BANK!
- Rikidozan (c) vs. Larry Zbysko (w/Larry Sweeney) in an LWF World Title Match **

- In the first Battle Royal, everyone was after Mil Mascaras. Mil held his own surprisingly well.
- In the second Battle Royal, Bob Orton Jr. saved Arn Anderson from being eliminated by the Masked Superstar. He was eliminated later in the match by Arn.
- Nikolai Volkoff and Bob Orton Sr. will not be a happy tag pairing. The Original Axis of Evil and the Ortons had several violent and bloody matches when they feuded for a shot at the LWF World Titles several years ago. It will be interesting to see how they will tag together and what will happen to the Red Menace and Nikita Brezhnikov's stable should they win. Not to mention what might happen between the Ortons and their newly formed coalition with Frank Gotch.
- Danielson vs. Rikidozan was a better match than I thought it would be.
- Rikidozan vs. Zbysko was a much worse match than I thought it would be.

The medics have to stretcher both Snuka and Rikidozan back to the locker room.
Notes- Women's tag match was a great opening and one of the best matches on the card.
Money in the Bank was a great match.
- None of the feud blowoffs or title matches were all that great. Overall a very disappointing PPV match-wise.
- Both Snuka and Rikidozan are injured. I'm not sure what this means for the world title. But I'm betting they'll be back.
- Coming up next is the "off-season" where a couple of smaller feds have their own thing going. First up is "Ring of Victory", a Ring of Honor style fed using the guys from LotF. Then, maybe, a Memphis Wrasslin fed following that.
- The LWF proper returns in August or thereabouts with a big Season Premiere where the wrestlers fight for positions on the roster. All title-holders will return so we'll see Rikidozan, The Heartbreak Express and The Destroyer back next season. Andre is a big signing for Heenan so he'll be back and in the title race against Rikidozan. As for the other wrestlers? They'll have to earn a place on the roster.
