Thanks, Dustin. I'm hoping to post more regularly now. I had a lot of family issues and obligations this spring. Now that those are behind me, I'm looking forward to rolling some dice!
Thanks to you and everyone for a great season of the LWF!
My very first ROV off-season will start on this thread soon with a tournament among some of the LOTF guys to find out who the LWF Inter-Continental Champion will be. I know Danielson, McGuinness and Corino are signed on. But there are at least 5 other guys looking to make a name for themselves. And I don't think LOTF3 will come and go without shaking a few things up as well.
Whoever's champion at the end of the off-season will earn a shot to join the elite on the LWF roster next season. Should be fun.

- The women's match was again a really great one. I think the dice are turning my promotion into TNA.
- The main event was abysmal. I had no clue that Severn and Gotch were in cohoots. But I hate ending a PPV like that. Next event will feature a tag-team match between Frank Gotch & Dan Severn and Bryan Danielson & a Mystery Partner.
- I had no clue what to do with Albright. Based on his performance in the Fray, he's going to be a heel and will likely tag with D'Lo. Those two worked very well together.
- Man, Age of the Fall is a really good tag-team. Just going to throw that out there. I was surprised at how well they did.
- Despite his loss, I'm all about the Savage-T. Maybe a tag-team with Danny Doring is in his near future?
- I was really hoping Nigel would win the Fray. I wanted to put him against Corino. Oh well. Dice...
- There are guys I really like in LOTF and then guys I'm either lukewarm on or know nothing about. I had low expectations but I must say that I'm enjoying this off-season thus far. The cards are really bringing out the wrestlers' personalities. Great job, Knapik.
- Next event will feature one match of the Semi-Finals for the Inter-Continental Title Tournament. The four semi-finalists are Steve Corino, Mike Quackenbush, Dan Severn and Adam Pearce. There will also be another tag-match in our tag tournament -- An Elimination Tag Scramble.

Notes- Match of the Night: 8-Man Golden Ticket Match. Nothing else was even close.
- Lots of disappointing matches in this one. I was really unhappy with how Team Londrick performed. Granted it was almost a four-on-two match. But still. They were who I was hoping would win, mainly to avoid a heel vs. heel tag title match. But it just wasn't their night.

- Danny Doring says that "Danny-D and Savage-T" are the sexiest tag-team in the LWF.

- Steve Corino says that Mike Quackenbush does pretty good at that "bouncy $#!&" but says that Lightning Mike won't be nearly as electrifying pinned down to the mat. Corino says he's already beaten the best ROV had to offer and that the Inter-Continental belt is as good as his.

Pearce continues his attack as Chairman Filsinger calls out Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black. Jacobs and Pearce start carving up Claudio's forehead while Filsinger shouts "So you wanna be a MOVIE STAR?!"

- Other matches on the docket for ROV5...
- The Heartbreak Express (c) vs. The Age of the Fall for the LWF US Tag Titles
- Harker Dirge, Skull Murphy & Sir Oliver Humperdink in a Six-Man Tag Elimination Match against Larry Zybysko, King Kong Bundy & Larry Sweeney with the losing stable being barred from Ring of Victory!
Notes- I'm happy that the Quack-Corino and Heartbreaks/Valiants were on this card because it was abyssmal otherwise.
- Overall Rating: C+
- I like having Quack as the champ. Go Chikara!
- I feel like there's alternately too much and not enough going on in ROV at this point. It seems like there's a lot of little things happening but the dice haven't pushed anything into the big time. Too bad the Candido-Dirge thing didn't pan out. That was the closest to heat the dice have given me in a while.
- ROV6 (event after next) marks the end of this portion of my off-season. There may or may not be a brief Memphis off-season between now and the start of the 2010 LWF Season Premiere.

LWF Offseason: Ring of Victory - ROV05- Brent Albright & D'Lo Brown (w/Sherri Martel) def. Brian Kendrick & Paul London
Albright & Brown dominate early on. Kendrick & London stage a comeback until Martel smashes London with a steel chair. Albright covers for the pin. B
- Mike Quackenbush (c) def. Necro Butcher in a No Disqualification Match for the LWF Inter-Continental Title
# - Necro Butcher is cashing in the shot he earned at the LWF IC Title when he won the Golden Ticket at ROV2
Before the match, Quack extends his hand to Necro Butcher. Necro slaps it away. It’s ON! Quack dominates the match early on. After it becomes clear that Necro will not be able to out-wrestle the champion, Necro Butcher turns to rulebreaker tactics. Around the 5 minute mark, Necro gouges Quackenbush with a foreign object outside the ring. Quack is busted open. Then Necro slams Quack into the mat after dumping thumbtacks all over the ring. Things don’t look good for Quack, until he’s able to regain composure and drop Necro Butcher with a Quackendriver 2.
! - After the match, Ricky Landell comes out to help the champ and makes a quick speech about how it’s great to have someone with such heart be the ROV champion. After this, Steve Corino comes out and asks Landell what he knows about heart. The two exchange words and Corino spits at Landell before slinking back to the locker room. (7:00) B+
- Larry Zybysko & King Kong Bundy & Larry Sweeney def. Harker Dirge & Skull Murphy & Sir Oliver Humperdink in a 6-Man Tag Match
Dirge starts out the match gesturing towards Zybysko to get him into the ring but the Larrys send Bundy in to start the match. This was a better match than expected. Highlights were a chop battle between Zybysko and Murphy. Neither manager spent much time in the ring. Dirge got a bona-fide hot tag from Murphy. Zybysko managed to steal Harker’s momentum, though, and tagged Bundy back in. Bundy overpowered Dirge and tagged in Sweeney for a double-team and an easy pin. Sweeney takes the fall over Dirge. (6:00) B
- Dan Severn def. Nigel McGuinness & Chris Candido in a Triangle Match
Severn pins McGuinness after fireman’s carry slam. It was almost like Nigel was in a handicap match against Severn & Candido. When Severn went for the pin after a series of nearfalls, Candido did nothing to break it up. (9:30)
! - After the match, Candido and Severn gloated for a while until Bryan Danielson entered the ring. Danielson slapped Severn but the ref got between them to prevent a fight from breaking out. B+
- Heartbreak Express (c) (w/Johnny Fairplay) def. Age of the Fall by DQ in a LWF US Tag Title Match
The Heartbreak Express dominate most of the match. Jacobs is resilient and kicks out after two Heartbreakers. The ref calls the match after Jacobs drags Phil Davis outside the ring. A brawl between the teams follows after the bell. (10:00) B-
- Steve Corino def. Ricky Landell in a Cage Match
# - These two have some bad blood between them. Weeks ago, Corino beat down Landell and then insulted him after the match, saying he was the worst student that he ever trained. Landell was injured during that match and has recovered enough to seek revenge against his former trainer.
! - Prior to the match, Chairman Filsinger comes ringside to announce a Special Guest Referee -- Larry Zybysko! Zybysko’s music comes on and he struts down to the ring wearing his wrestling tights and a referee shirt. Things don’t look good for Ricky Landell.
The match lacks any drama whatsoever. Landell doesn’t get any offense at all. Corino immediately goes for Landell’s back. Landell is visibly hurt after Corino hits a Victory Plex and asks Zybysko to call the match. Zybysko refuses! Corino bloodies Landell on the cage and continues to beat him to a pulp. At one point, Filsinger motions for Zybysko and Corino to end the match. Corino half-heartedly covers Landell. 1... 2... 3! The crowd boos. A horrible match to close the show. (7:00) F
After the Show- Age of the Fall complain that they were robbed by the referee. The brief interview ends in a face-off between Tyler Black and Jimmy Jacobs. Black feels that Jacobs might have cost them the match. Ya think?
- Chairman Filsinger is all congratulatory towards Steve Corino and Larry Zybysko and announces that Mike Quackenbush will defend the LWF Inter-Continental Title against the new #1 Contender -- Steve Corino -- at ROV6 in a Two-Out-of-Three Falls Hardcore Match! Commissioner Charlie Cox comes out and gives Filsinger, Corino and Zybysko a piece of his mind. He announces himself as Special Guest Referee and says that he will quit if Quackenbush loses to a low-life like Corino!
- Nigel McGuinness and Bryan Danielson call Dan Severn and Chris Candido cowards and challenge them to a Tag-Team elimination match at ROV6!
Notes- Some decent matches. Better than the last show (I guess). But that Corino/Landell match was awful.
- Overall Rating: B-
- Man, the big show to close out the off-season and I got nothing. Not for lack of trying either. None of the feuds I wanted to spotlight paid off. None of them. Ugh. Sometimes the dice just don't fall your way...
- ROV6 will be the end of this off-season. Look for Chairman Filsinger to shake things up at the LWF 2010-2011 Season Premiere coming soon!

Ring of Victory - ROV06- Age of the Fall def. Brian Kendrick & Paul London
Team Londrick dominate the match early on but Jacobs & Black finally pull it together. After some vicious double-teaming, Age of the Fall control the mat. Black gets the pin on Kendrick after a Phoenix Splash. London sees very little action in this match. B-
- Harker Dirge def. King Kong Bundy in a Five Count Match - Loser’s stable is out of ROV!
Dirge takes the big man to the mat. Bundy attempts to overpower Dirge but Dirge stays just out of reach until he can get the advantage on the mat and hit Bundy with aerial manuevers. Things look bad for Dirge when Bundy drags the match outside the ring but Dirge dodges a King Kong charge into the turnbuckle post that leaves Bundy busted wide open! Dirge gets a dazed Bundy back in the ring for a jumping knee drop and a five count! B+
- Brent Albright & D’Lo Brown def. The Heartbreak Express © in a LWF US Tag Title Match
Things don’t look good for the contenders with Sean & Phil Davis showing once again why they carry both LWF tag belts. The Heartbreak Express dominate the match. Then D’Lo Brown distracts the ref while Sherri Martel sprays something in Sean Davis’ eyes. Albright locks in the sharpshooter for the submission. We have new LWF US Tag-Title champions! B
- Chris Hero def. Claudio Castagnoli in a Hardcore Grudge Match
Prior to the match, Hero tries to explain what’s happened to Claudio and how Chairman Filsinger has manipulated them but Claudio slaps him. It’s on! The match goes back-and-forth. Not much blood for either competitor, although Claudio does try to choke Hero out with a rope he pulled out from under the ring. Hero gets a pin after a Cravate Buster. After the match, Hero extends a hand to Claudio and Castagnoli slaps it away. So Hero jumps Claudio and bloodies him all around the ring. Hero leaves the arena after this stunning display of brutality. C
- Nigel McGuiness & Bryan Danielson def. Dan Severn & Chris Candido in a Tag-Team Elimination Match
Severn & Candido punish Danielson until he can make a hot tag to McGuinness. McGuinness goes wild on Severn & Candido. Danielson back in the ring continues the offense until Severn pulls the fight out onto the floor. Things don’t look good for Danielson until he regains the advantage coming out of the turnbuckle and locks in the Cattle Mutilation. Severn taps!!!
Candido does not look like he’s wanting to take on McGuinness & Danielson. Candido puts on a great effort against McGuinness. Candido prevents McGuinness from tagging out and Danielson only has the opportunity to run in for a Pin Save. It’s not much help, though, as Candido pins Nigel following a Blonde Bomber.
Danielson shows real spark after McGuinness is eliminated, taking the fight to Candido. Candido shows some wear after facing off against Nigel. Danielson hits Candido with a Suicide Dive. Not much left in Candido after that. 1... 2... 3! Danielson takes the final fall! B+
- Steve Corino def. Mike Quackenbush in a 2/3 Falls Hardcore Match for LWF Inter-Continental Belt w/Guest Referee Charlie Cox
Both men are busted open early. Quackenbush takes a great deal of punishment from Corino. Corino attempts to put Quack out of commission with a legdrop from the turnbuckle post onto the announcer’s table but Quack moves at the last second! 1... 2... 3! Quack takes the first fall.
These two continue to battle. This fall stays mostly in the ring. The ref almost calls the match because Corino is bleeding so much. Corino looks like he’s almost out of it but then kicks out of a Quackendriver at the last second. Corino rallies, hits an Old School Expulsion and takes the second fall!
Quack starts the final fall out slowly but builds momentum. Corino halts him in his tracks, however, with a ringside object. Old School Expulsion... 1... 2... 3! Corino wins. We have a new LWF Inter-Continental champion! A-
Afterwards...- Asked why he made the final three count for Corino -- knowing it would end his tenure as Commissioner of ROV, Charlie Cox said it was because it was fair and it was an honest result for the stipulations of the match. He wished all the talent well and hoped to be back in the LWF in a future date.
- The Heartbreak Express complained about Albright & Brown cheating them out of their US Tag Title but interviewer Lance Russell was not sympathetic. Manager Jonny Fairplay told Lance Russell that he had a great deal of pull with Filsinger and would make sure that the Heartbreaks had a chance to get their belts back soon.
- A bloody Steve Corino and his manager Sherri Martel began an interview in his usual gloating fashion when Mike Quackenbush showed up and challenged Corino to a Cage Match at the LWF Season Premiere. Corino told Quack that he'd have to wait a full year for his rematch but then Chairman Filsinger intervened and declared that the match was on -- with the loser receiving an Old School Expulsion out of the LWF!
- Before leaving the final interview, Lance Russell asked what Sensational Sweet & Sour Incorporated planned on doing now that two of their stable members (Albright & Brown and Steve Corino) held ROV belts but were no longer able to appear on Ring of Victory due to King Kong Bundy's defeat at the hands of Harker Dirge. Her response was: "No comment".
Notes- Match of the Night... Quack/Corino.
- Overall Grade... B-
- Season Premiere to kick off soon! Promise it won't take as long to put together. I've got some crazy stuff brewing for LWF 2010.
- I'd been looking for a quicker means of playing through a LOW match while still preserving the feel and integrity of the rules. One of the reasons ROV took me so long to get through was because of my tinkering with different tries at rules and constant revisions. I think I've nailed down a decent system at this point.
- Thanks in advance for all who followed the off-season but I'd qualify this season of ROV as an NXT scale debacle. Man, I couldn't get anything going. Thank goodness that the Corino/Quack match paid off there. At least the whole season wasn't a bust.
