That last card Eason excellent. Enjoyed The Grappler pinning Hot Rod again. Bobby Eaton is one of my favorite sleeper cards and can always pull out key wins. Match against The American Dragon looked awesome. Great main event.

Wow, bad luck for the Hot Rod. Although in my fed, Grappler pinned Andre, so you never know. It's probably Mascaras's fault. Roddy should stomp him the next time it happens.

Thanks for the comments AJ, Crimson, Bookerbill, and Godzillajoe. Next up is action from the GWA...
LOW Global Wrestling Association - 02 World Arena - Berlin, Germany (Card #773)
1) Val Venis defeated Paul London: A hard fought opening match saw the popular Paul London take on the “Big Valbowski” Val Venis. This one was pretty evenly contested until Venis picked London off the top rope with a bodyslam. Venis followed with a serious offensive including hitting the Money Shot for a big near fall. London rallied and hit the 450 Splash but Venis was able to kick out before the three count. With time running out it was Venis scoring with a Russian leg sweep before trapping London in a bridging Double Underhook Suplex to score the pin.
2) New Age Outlaws defeated Heartbreak Express: Tag team action was up next as the New Age Outlaws (B.G. James & Kip James) took on the cult favorite Heartbreak Express (Fabulous Phil Davis & Superstar Sean Davis) out of ASW. The Express looked strong early as they got the heat on B.G. preventing him from making a tag. They hit the Irish whip and flying butt bomb combo along with Phil using the tag rope to choke him out. When Kip got the tag he helped turn the tables for the Outlaws using his combination of power and speed. It built to a great finish with B.G. getting a near fall on the 320-pound Sean with an assisted Pump Handle Slam. Kip then got the tag and muscled Sean up for a Cobra Clutch Slam to score the pin.
3) Johnny Saint vs. Brent Albright was a Draw: Former LOW Junior Heavyweight champion Johnny Saint and “The Shooter” Brent Albright collided in a memorable battle. Saint used his technical expertise to set the pace early including trapping Albright in the Three In One for a submission chance. He also tied him up with The Russ Abbot and used the double arm stretch and cradle for a near fall. Albright came back late into it nailing Saint with the 6-1-Knee and trapping him in the Sharpshooter for a submission chance. With time running out it was Albright trapping Saint in the Crowbar which looked to be a submission but Saint hung on trying to fight out of it ending this one in a time limit draw.
4) 2 Cold Scorpio & Danny Hodge defeated Giant Bernard & Dan Spivey: An intense tag team battle saw 2 Cold Scorpio & Danny Hodge take on the imposing duo of Giant Bernard & “Dangerous” Dan Spivey. Bernard and Spivey wasted little time getting this one underway as they attacked Scorpio and Hodge at ringside. The two dominated the early action which included Bernard hitting the Baldo Bomb on Scorpio. Spivey would later hit the Power Bomb on Hodge for a big near fall but Scorpio broke up the pin. Scorpio rallied his team back into it as he caught Bernard with a superkick followed by The Diss That Don’t Miss but Spivey broke up the pin. After a wild battle on the outside it was Hodge getting the upper hand on Spivey before trapping him in the Abdominal Stretch. Scorpio cut off an interfering Bernard as Hodge cinched the hold on forcing Spivey to concede. Scorpio and Hodge got the win via submission and Spivey was none too pleased as he tore up the ringside area post-match before Bernard got him under control.
5) LOW Junior Heavyweight title: Gorgeous George© defeated Super Crazy to retain the title: The “Insane Luchadore” Super Crazy received a huge opportunity challenging Gorgeous George for the LOW Junior Heavyweight title. George, who was accompanied by his valet Cherie Dupre, was making his version one defense of the title. George controlled the early action tying up Crazy with a figure four leglock and using the Gorgeous Grip for a submission chance. Crazy struck back with the tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and then hit a leaping DDT for a near fall. He had George reeling until the “Human Orchid” used a distraction by Dupre and a face rake with the Georgie pins to take control. Crazy absorbed a good deal of punishment but then hit the Crazy Bomb for a big near fall that many felt was a three count. George was looking desperate late in the battle and it was Dupre interfering again to help her man. That led to George trapping Crazy in the Spinning Toe Hold and getting the win via submission to retain the title.
6) PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match: The Mountie defeated Dasher Hatfield to advance: CHIKARA star Dasher Hatfield, one-third of The Throwbacks along with Sugar Dunkerton and Mr. Touchdown, took on The Mountie (GWA) in this qualifying match for the prestigious tournament taking place during WrestleCade VIII weekend. The Mountie used his veteran experience to control this one and twice used the Boston Crab attempting to get Hatfield to tap out. The crowd rallied behind Hatfield who battled back with some nice offense. He never seemed to have The Mountie in too much trouble, though, and the Canadian star would get the win in this one. The Mountie won out in a battle on the floor and then going to the blindside of the referee he zapped Hatfield with his controversial Shock Stick to score the pin. The crowd jeered the decision as The Mountie earned the right to join Antonino Rocca, Bob Roop, Antonio Inoki, and Bryan Danielson as those already qualified for the tournament.
7) Ted Dibiase defeated Jim Londos: The heated rivalry between the “Golden Greek” Jim Londos and the “Million $ Man” Ted Dibiase resulted in another hotly contested bout. This time it was Londos bringing some backup in the form of the “Eight Wonder of the World” Andre the Giant to counter Dibiase’s seven-foot tall bodyguard Kurrgan. Dibiase tried to offer some money to Andre to switch sides before the match but he knocked it out of his hands and tossed it to ringsiders angering the “Million $ Man”. Early action saw Londos win out in a battle on the floor and execute the Airplane Spin but as he went for the pin Kurrgan interfered punching him in the head. The referee waved off the disqualification and instead ejected Kurrgan from ringside. He refused to leave at first until Andre went after him resulting in LOW officials getting in between the two giants. With Kurrgan gone it was Dibiase mounting a surprise comeback as he trapped Londos in the Million Dollar Sleeper. Londos managed to escape but then missed with a corner charge allowing Dibiase to roll him up for a pin. Andre then reached in and decked Dibiase and that resulted in the referee ejecting him from ringside as well. A brutal battle came down to a counter from Dibiase into the Million Dollar Sleeper which he cinched on to score an impressive submission victory.
●Jim Londos was upset backstage following his loss to Ted Dibiase but Andre the Giant offered him some consolation. He said he spoke to the GWA promoters earlier in the day and had secured a contract for a tag team match on the next card in San Juan, Puerto Rico (Card #782). It will be Londos and Andre teaming together for the first time to face Dibiase and Kurrgan. When word got back to Dibiase he was livid and said that he would have his lawyers look into the situation adding that he would take the GWA to court if necessary to get an injunction to prevent the match from taking place.
8) Steel Cage Match – Loser of the Fall leaves the GWA: Steve Williams & Terry Gordy defeated Hell’s Angels: The long and bitter rivalry between the Miracle Violence Connection (Steve “Dr. Death” Williams & Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy) and the Hell’s Angels (Exotic Adrian Street & Nigel McGuinness) came to a head in this match. Contested inside the confines of a Steel Cage, using tag team rules and pin or submission needed for the victory, it had the added stipulation of the loser of the fall having to leave the GWA. Miss Linda, the valet of Street, was at ringside but the cage prevented her from performing her usual outside interference. The Hell’s Angels looked great early getting the heat on Williams for an extended stretch. McGuinness dropped him with the Tower of London and also ran him head first into the cage wall two times. Gordy finally got the tag and exploded into action nailing McGuinness with the Bamm Bamm Slam. He also locked on the Oriental Spike going for the submission but Street made the save. Street would turn things around and score a near fall on Williams with a counter roll-up out of the corner. Late in the bout Williams delivered the Oklahoma Stampede on McGuinness but Street made the save for his partner. It came down to an intense battle between Williams and a bloody McGuinness and “Dr. Death” won out when he survived the Jawbreaker Lariat and came back hitting his own devastating Lariat to score the pin.
●The MVC scored a huge victory by putting an end to the run of the Hell’s Angels and sending Nigel McGuinness packing from the GWA. A disgusted Adrian Street rolled out of the cage door and quickly left with Miss Linda as a bloody McGuinness struggled back to his feet. Steve Williams and Terry Gordy remained and showed respect to their rival by shaking hands with him. McGuinness was reluctant but accepted that show of respect and received some cheers from the crowd as he returned to the locker room leaving a GWA arena for the final time. Local reporters caught up to McGuinness as he was being attended to by doctors and he said that he will miss the GWA and the Hell’s Angels but that Street disrespected him in the end. He appreciated the respect shown to him by the MVC and said that he was not sure what the future holds for him in LOW as he becomes a free agent. Street, meanwhile, refused to speak to the reporters and hurriedly left the arena with Miss Linda.

Enjoyed number 773 Crue. Saint and Albright looked like a solid contest and the visual of Hodge submitting Spivey is great. The set up for card 782 was great and the tag match featuring Andre the Giant is classic old school booking for sure. Great main event with McGuinness on his way elsewhere.

Solid card Crue, but WOW! Hell's Angels losing is a shame. Then again Doc&Bamm Bamm are a killer team. I was hoping the HBX would've won and it was great seeing 2CS & Hodge win and I agree the visual of Spivey submitting is cool and him ticked off after losing is fitting...

Thanks for the comments Bookerbill and Crimson. Hodge stretching Spivey to get the submission was definitely a highlight on that card. It was tough to see the Hell's Angels break up as I really liked that team but the dice always win in the end. Next up is action from the NWC...
LOW Northern Wrestling Corporation - The Spectrum - Philadelphia, PA (Card #774)
1) Ilio DiPaolo defeated Dupae Rupa: The popular Ilio DiPaolo out of Abruzzi, Italy, looked sharp here as he took on the “Belgian Brawler” Dupae Rupa of ASW. He kept on top of Rupa most of the way before unloading with a barrage of big right hands and executing a Bodyslam and press to score the pin.
2) Drake Younger defeated Dick Hutton: The veteran Dick Hutton, a former holder of the LOW World tag team titles along with Red Bastien, faced a tough challenge in the form of the “Psycho Shooter” Drake Younger. It was Younger on the offensive early as he laid out Hutton with an Exploder Suplex. That forced Hutton to bail out of the ring and proved to be a mistake as the hardcore experience of Younger came into play. Hutton gained control briefly before Younger dropped him hard on the timekeeper’s table with another Exploder suplex. The referee gave Younger a serious warning but that didn’t help Hutton any as he subsequently fell victim to the Drake’s Landing resulting in the pin.
3) Johnny & Greg Valentine defeated Jerry Lynn & Arik Cannon: Two teams very much in contention for a shot at the LOW World tag team titles collided in an epic battle as Jerry Lynn & “The Anarchist” Arik Cannon took on the father-and-son team of Johnny & Greg Valentine. Manager Captain Lou Albano was at ringside for the Valentine’s and repeatedly uttered the words “PWI Cup” which helped remind everyone that Johnny and Greg are competing in the qualifying round. Both teams had chances to win this one including when Greg trapped Cannon in the Figure Four Leglock. Lynn managed to make the save there and that set up a huge comeback for Cannon who laid out Johnny with his rarely used version of the Burning Hammer. Lynn cut off Greg from making the save but somehow Johnny got his foot over the bottom rope to break up the pin. Lynn later nailed Johnny with the Cradle Piledriver but Greg made the save. A great battle came to an end when Greg laid out Cannon with a piledriver before delivering the Valentine Chops and falling on top of him for the pin.
4) Fred Blassie defeated Tony Atlas: A huge match for “Mr. USA” Tony Atlas here as he took on former two-time LOW World Heavyweight champion Fred Blassie. The self-proclaimed “King of Men” is one of the most accomplished stars in the recent history of LOW and he showed why here. Atlas used his combination of speed and power to control the pace early including hitting the big dropkick and locking on the crushing full nelson. Blassie struck back with a brawling attack before scoring with multiple knee drops. Atlas tried to use a test of strength but Blassie countered and began biting him with his sharpened teeth. Blassie is also known as the “Vampire” and the end result saw Atlas busted open. Atlas staged a late comeback and hit the Press Slam and Splash for a big near fall. Blassie was fortunate to survive that and then hit Atlas with a Low Blow to score a controversial pin. The crowd jeered the decision as Blassie escaped with a narrow victory over the powerful Atlas.
5) Killer Kowalski defeated Bobo Brazil: The rivalry between Bobo Brazil and Killer Kowalski has gripped the NWC by storm and this match showed why. Kowalski and manager Captain Lou Albano tried to intimidate ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta before the match prompting Brazil to rush in. He thrashed Kowalski in the early going including nailing him with the big hammer punch and the Bobo bodyslam. Kowalski scratched and clawed his way back into it and delivered the bombs away knee drop several times. He had Brazil in a bad way and scored a big near fall with a jumping elbow smash. Brazil was busted open but despite the blood loss he mounted a strong comeback. The momentum was going his way until a whip into the corner led to Kowalski bouncing out with a Counter Running Lariat that rocked Brazil. Kowalski then covered him and scored the pin as Albano held the legs of Brazil from ringside. If that weren’t enough it was Albano joining Kowalski for a post-match attack on Brazil laying him out.
●An angry Bobo Brazil, blood streaming down his face, grabbed the mic as Killer Kowalski and Captain Lou Albano left the ring and issued a challenge. He said that Albano is always sticking his nose in where it doesn’t belong and that he had a solution. He noted that the NWC has a big card coming up at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY (Card #785) and that if the “fat man has the guts” he will get in the ring with Kowalski and take him on in a Handicap Match. Albano paced back and forth at ringside going up and down the stairs as Kowalski got on the ring apron. He grabbed the mic from Brazil and told him that he had signed his “death warrant” as the challenge was accepted and so it will be Brazil vs. Kowalski & Albano in a two-on-one Handicap Match on the big show at MSG.
6) LOW Tex-Arkana Television title: Ed Lewis© defeated Ox Baker to retain the title: The rivalry between Ed “Strangler” Lewis, the reigning LOW Tex-Arkana Television champion, and the “Master of the Heart Punch” Ox Baker has been one of the most talked about in LOW over the past year. It was Baker that assaulted Lewis en route to winning the title from him in Augusta, ME (Card #683) and put him out of action for several weeks courtesy of the Heart Punch. Lewis returned from injury and would become a two-time champion when he defeated Baker to regain the title in West Palm Beach, FL (Card #714). In the time since Lewis has been on a near record setting pace as champion with this being his version twelve defense of the title. It was the feared Baker striking first as he jumped Lewis before the bell. He dominated early until Lewis used his technical skill to turn it around. Lewis scored a big near fall with a counter sunset flip as Baker went for a backdrop off of the ropes. They battled out to the floor where Lewis struck Baker with a chair shot that the referee was willing to wave off. Back inside it was Lewis trapping Baker in the Strangler’s Headlock which he cinched on to score the submission victory. The crowd cheered the victory by Lewis who is now just two shy of the record set by Eddie Kingston who had fourteen successful defenses of the television title. Next up for Lewis will be a very strong challenge from Curt Hennig on a PCW card in Sioux Falls, SD (Card #777).
7) PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match: Austin Aries defeated Tyler Black by DQ to advance: An intense qualifying match saw “A Double” Austin Aries (SWA) take on Tyler Black (ROH), one-third of the Kings of Wrestling along with Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli. Aries showed up unnanounced on the recent ROH card in Las Vegas, NV (Card #770) taunting Black and hinting at possibly leaving the SWA for ROH. It was back-and-forth early with both men looking great on offense. They exchanged a slew of near falls including after Black caught Aries with a Buckle Bomb followed by a superkick. A turning point in the match saw Black missing with the Phoenix Splash leading to Aries executing a frog splash for a big near fall. This one eventually wound up on the outside where Black drew a snake eyes disqualification due to interference by Hero who made a surprise run-in from the back. Hero then tossed Aries into the ring and laid him out with a Rolling Elbow Smash. It was a painful win for Aries but the victory allowed him to join Antonino Rocca, Bob Roop, Antonio Inoki, Bryan Danielson, and The Mountie in the first round of the tournament which takes place during WrestleCade VIII weekend.
●As Chris Hero and Tyler Black were leaving the ring, a dazed Austin Aries called for the microphone from ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta. He said that he was going to save his big announcement for another time but that Hero had “knocked it out of him”. He said that he has left the SWA and officially signed a contract with ROH and had an open contact for his debut in Santa Ana, CA (Card #780) daring Hero to accept a singles match against him. Hero discussed things with Black and after some hesitation he decided to accept the challenge making Aries very happy.
8) LOW World tag team titles: Fabulous Kangaroos© defeated Nikolai Volkoff & Iron Sheik by DQ to retain the titles: The main event saw the Fabulous Kangaroos (Al Costello & Roy Heffernan, along with manager Wild Red Berry) defend the LOW World tag team titles against the tough challenge of Nikolai Volkoff & Iron Sheik. Former two-time LOW World Heavyweight champion Fred Blassie was in the corner for the challengers as he works as the acting manager for the powerful Russian-Iranian tandem. Volkoff and Sheik were on their game in this one using a strong and concentrated attack to control the pace. Volkoff trapped Costello in the Russian Bearhug and set up the Sheik who laid him out with a sidewinder suplex. Sheik also delivered a piledriver on Costello leaving him in a bad way. The Kangaroos never seemed to get it going in this one and they were fortunate to escape with a victory as the Sheik got disqualified when he hit Costello with the Iranian flagpole during a battle on the floor. Blassie was none too pleased with the call by the referee as it allowed the Kangaroos to survive their version two defense of the championship.

I really have to say your rich history really delivers both on current actions and a solid looking back. Too bad Rupa lost, but DiPaolo winning is still good stuff. I like that Ed Lewis retained the Tex-Arkana TV Strap...

Thanks for the comments Crimson. Next up is action from the SWA...
LOW Southern Wrestling Alliance - Myriad Convention Center - Oklahoma City, OK (Card #775)
1) Lash Leroux defeated Koko B. Ware: A fast paced opener between two popular stars saw the “Birdman” Koko B. Ware of ASW take on the “Rajin Cajun” Lash Leroux. Ware has more experience but that didn’t come into play here as Leroux kept one step ahead of him most of the way. Leroux put up a relentless assault including hitting the Whiplash for a big near fall. It was a good showing by Ware in terms of resiliency but Leroux would score the pin with a Spinout Power Bomb. Both men shook hands following the match.
2) Mike Graham defeated Lanny Poffo: Crowd favorite Mike Graham out of Tampa, FL, took on “The Genius” Lanny Poffo appearing courtesy of ASW. They had some great exchanges in the early going before both went down on a double clothesline off the ropes. Graham recovered first and applied the Figure Four Leglock but Poffo was able to grab the ropes for a break. It was a reprieve for Poffo but a determined Graham would continue his attack wearing “The Genius” down with a sleeper hold before again applying the Figure Four Leglock which this time resulted in a submission victory.
3) J.D. Michaels defeated Brian Blair: Another crowd favorite from Tampa, FL, in Brian Blair took on former LOW Junior Heavyweight champion J.D. Michaels in the third match. Blair, a former member of the Killer Bees, has been trying to find his way in singles competition and scored a nice near fall with a cross body block late in the bout. Michaels shook it off and hit the powerbomb backbreaker and a superplex for a near fall of his own. The two traded blows towards the finish which saw Michaels lay out Blair and then come off of the top rope with the Top Rope Elbowdrop to score the pin.
4) D-Lo Brown & Kenny King defeated Blonde Bombers: Tag team action was up next as the popular team of D-Lo Brown & Kenny King took on the new team of the Blonde Bombers (Chris Candido & Bobby Shane) who had manager “Elegant” Eddie Fyne in their corner. This was another open contract match offered by Fyne and once again he turned down the challenge of Bob & Brad Armstrong but this time “Bullet” Bob had an ace up his sleeve as he said they weren’t accepting but another team was and it was Brown and King. Fyne was fit to be tied as his men faced a stern challenge in just their second match in the SWA. The Blonde Bombers did a great job early getting the heat on King for an extended stretch including Shane trapping him in the Japanese Sleeper. Brown made the save there and would get the hot tag from King leading to him hitting the Lo Down on Shane for a big near fall. This one built to a wild finish and nearly ended in a double disqualification before Brown stunned Shane with a Swinging Side Slam to score the pin.
5) Don Muraco, Tracy Smothers, Hillbilly Jim, & Cousin Luke defeated Kevin Sullivan, Eddie Gilbert, One Man Gang, & Lord Humongous: Huge eight-man tag team action saw “The Magnificent” Don Muraco lead Tracy Smothers, Hillbilly Jim, & Cousin Luke into battle against the House of Humperdink team of Kevin Sullivan, “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert, One Man Gang, & Lord Humongous. Sir Oliver Humperdink instructed his men to jump the opposition at ringside to get this one off to a wild start. Muraco went at his arch-rival Sullivan with a vengeance and nearly put him away with an over the shoulder backbreaker. Gilbert would get the HOH back into it when he nailed Smothers with the Hot Shot for a big near fall. OMG would follow assaulting the “Wild Eyed Southern Boy” but a missed 747 Splash would turn the tide in the favor of Muraco’s team. A short time later Smothers stunned the massive OMG hitting the Jawjacker for a snake eyes pin. It was a wild finish to the bout and an angry Humperdink yelled at his men for taking the loss. He then challenged Smothers to meet OMG on the next SWA card in Baton Rouge, LA (Card #783). Smothers needed little time to say yes to that and the crowd cheered him and his teammates who picked up a big win.
6) PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match: Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeated Rick Rude to advance: The popular Hacksaw Jim Duggan (AWE) returned to his old stomping grounds in the Mid-South taking on “Ravishing” Rick Rude (Freelance) in a qualifying match for the PWI Invitational Cup Tournament. Rude looked dominant early and scored a near fall when he avoided a corner charge by Duggan and rolled him up for a pin. He also used the reverse atomic drop and suplex to keep control. Duggan bounced back hitting the shoulder breaker, spinning bodyslam, and Tough Guy clothesline. He had the always confident Rude reeling until he reversed the momentum by countering a vertical suplex. Rude then attempted to set up for his finisher, the Rude Awakening, but it would never come as Duggan surprised him with a counter off the ropes followed by the Flying Spear to score a snake eyes pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as Duggan qualified for the tournament joining Antonino Rocca, Bob Roop, Antonio Inoki, Bryan Danielson, The Mountie, and Austin Aries in the first round.
7) Double Stipulation Match: Lou Thesz defeated Dennis Condrey: The match everyone had been waiting for saw Lou Thesz put his career in the SWA on the line against getting five minutes with manager Jim Cornette who was represented in this match by “Loverboy” Dennis Condrey, one-half of the Midnight Express. Condrey was the one who issued this challenge drawing the ire of Cornette as the two have been at odds for the past few weeks. It was a tremendous opportunity for Condrey, though, as win over Thesz would have been huge and even bigger was the fact that Thesz would have had to leave the SWA if he lost. Thesz, who was accompanied by “Wildfire” Tommy Rich, dominated Condrey early as a worried Cornette and “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton watched on from ringside. He scored a big near fall with a multi-revolution Airplane Spin. Cornette involved himself in the bout after that preventing Thesz from scoring other near falls. Condrey would then hit the Face First Leg Sweep for a two count and nearly pinned Thesz after catching him with an atomic drop. Interference by Eaton later backfired and it was Thesz scoring a near fall with a cradle hold. The dramatic battle ended when Thesz nailed Condrey with the Greco-Roman Backdrop to score the pin. That meant that Cornette would finally have to meet his fate leading to…
8) 5:00 Match: Lou Thesz defeated Jim Cornette: A terrified Jim Cornette tried to run to the back but was cut off by Tommy Rich in the aisle. Bobby Eaton then jumped Rich and the two began battling to the back. It looked like Cornette would be able to escape when suddenly Dennis Condrey grabbed him by his pants and sport coat and tossed him into the ring where Lou Thesz was waiting. Cornette looked back at Condrey pleading for answers when Thesz grabbed him and delivered a side salto. Cornette bounced off of the mat like a fish and it wasn’t long after that when Thesz nailed the outspoken manager with the Greco-Roman Backdrop to score the easy pin. The crowd cheered the double win by Thesz and looked on in shock as Condrey walked off smiling while Cornette was laid out in the ring. Is this the end of the Midnight Express?
9) LOW International Heavyweight title: Harley Race© defeated Angelo Mosca to retain the title: The main event saw Angelo “King Kong” Mosca challenge Harley Race for the LOW International Heavyweight title. Mosca has challenged for the belt a number of times in the past, most notably against The Sheik, but thus far the prestigious championship has eluded him. He was hoping to change that here as he took the fight to Race in a great bout. The two grizzled veterans fought in and out of the ring pulling out all of the stops hoping to gain a win. Mosca used his CFL background to nail Race with the football tackle for a big near fall. Race came back scoring near falls of his own with a flying bodypress off of the top rope and a counter roll-up out of the corner. Mosca was busted open during a battle on the outside but he fought back locking on an abdominal stretch before delivering his controversial Big Nasty Elbow Drop after loading up the elbow pad. To his credit it was Race surviving that and coming back to hit the Piledriver resulting in the pin. Race was successful in his version two defense of the championship against a strong and determined challenge from the Canadian star.
