Real solid card Crue. Loved the main event with both sides earning a disqualification. Elgin over Strong was excellent and Bad Influence should get another shot at the Wolves after getting bitten by snake eyes. Loads of contenders stepping up for a possible title shot. I agree with Book on his comments, plus I liked that Forever Hooligans won, but too bad Austin Aries lost...

Thanks for the comments Bookerbill and Crimson. I have been very busy so I am on a little break from dice rolling but next up will be the start of King of Trios in Chikara. Hopefully I can post that by the weekend.

The wait is over and now it is time for the opening night of King of Trios...CHIKARA - King of Trios - Night One - The Asylum Arena - Philadelphia, PA (Card #808)1) F.I.S.T. defeated Osirian Portal & Gran Akuma: The fourth annual King of Trios event under the LOW banner kicked off with last year’s winners the Osirian Portal (Amasis & Ophidian) and Gran Akuma taking on the strong trio of F.I.S.T. (Icarus, Chuck Taylor, & Johnny Gargano). Akuma also has the distinction of being a two-time winner having teamed with Chris Hero and Dr. Cube to win the inaugural event. F.I.S.T. looked strong right out of the gate in this one as Icarus hit the Blu-Ray on Amasis for a big near fall. Taylor also scored with his trademark Invisible Grenade Elbow Drop and nearly tapped out Amasis with the Cross Crab. Ophidian and Akuma helped rally their team including Ophidian trapping Icarus in the Death Grip. Amasis connected with the Twist of Funk before Gargano hit the slingshot spear for another big near fall on the “Funky Pharaoh”. The match ended when Icarus nailed Amasis with a second Blu-Ray to score the pin and send F.I.S.T. on to the next round. 2) Ultramantis Black, Crossbones, & Hydra defeated Sara Del Ray, Daizee Haze, & Thunderkitty: The Order of the Neo Solar Temple (Ultramantis Black, Crossbones, & Hydra) faced Team SHIMMER (Sara Del Ray, Daizee Haze, & Thunderkitty) in what was a highly anticipated bout. Del Ray and Haze are CHIKARA veterans and along with Thunderkitty were the only women competing in the KOT this year. They were all hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow SHIMMER star Penny Banner who made it to the tournament final two years ago teaming with the Valiant Brothers. Both teams laid it all on the line here and one of the most interesting aspects of the match was how Crossbones used his girth to rough up both Del Ray and Thunderkitty. The diminutive Haze managed to survive his wrath, however, and nearly pinned Crossbones with a cradle hold after a missed rope dive and with the Heart Punch. The double tough Del Ray had no problem mixing it up with the opposition and had quite a battle with Ultramantis at one point. Thunderkitty later took over on Hydra and scored a submission chance with the Cornbread Clutch. The “powerful” Hydra rebounded, however, and caught Thunderkitty in a Prawn Hold to score the pin. 3) Johnny Saint, Shane Storm, & Mister ZERO defeated The Batiri: The Batiri (Obariyon, Kodama, & Kobald) faced off against the team united as SS-ZERO (Johnny Saint, Shane Storm, & Mister ZERO) in the next bout. This one was all over the place with the speed of both teams and the freestyle lucha libre tag rules playing a big factor. SS-ZERO looked strong in the early going as Saint led his team in a focused attack on The Batiri. That included Storm surprising Kobald with a crashing huracanrana for a near fall. Kobald would later gain revenge hitting the Top Rope Seated Senton on Storm for a big near fall. ZERO had the crowd howling in laughter when he trapped Obariyon in the newspaper assisted camel clutch. It was Obariyon later almost putting ZERO away when he caught him with a counter superplex and the Flying DDT for a big near fall. The finish saw Saint with a high cross body block on Obariyon before trapping him in the Three In One to get the victory via submission. 4) Mike Quackenbush, Colt Cabana, & Brutus Beefcake defeated The Throwbacks: CHIKARA Director of Fun Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana led his handpicked team of “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush & Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake into battle against the popular team of The Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield, Sugar Dunkerton, & Mr. Touchdown). Beefcake was last seen in the AWE before being fired by Jimmy Hart and was then contacted by Cabana to be on his team. Prior to the match it was Cabana making a big announcement that Beefcake, back to being “The Barber”, has signed an appearance deal with CHIKARA so he will return for future events. Both sides looked good in this one but in the end it was Hatfield on the defensive and he was hit with the Colt .45 by Cabana for a big near fall. Beefcake then set up Hatfield with a wind-up punch leading to Quackenbush executing the Black Tornado Slam for another near fall. That set off a six-way brawl as Dunkerton and Touchdown ran in to make the save. Quackenbush took over after that and laid out Hatfield with the Quackendriver, a standing iconoclasm slam, to score the pin. There was some tension post-match as Hatfield and Dunkerton shook hands with the opposition while the moody Mr. Touchdown stood out on the ring apron looking on in disdain. Dunkerton confronted him on it but Hatfield got in between the two making peace. 5) Vin Gerard & The Roughnecks defeated Archibald Peck, Jakob Hammermeier, & Virgil: A most interesting match here as The Dark Menace led his team of Vin Gerard & The Roughnecks (Brodie Lee & Grizzly Redwood) into battle against the unique trio of Peck-N-Hammer (Archibald Peck & Jakob Hammermeier, with Veronica) and “Wrestling Superstar” Virgil of ASW. Virgil caused some problems within his own team early on as he tried to sell his autographed picture to both Peck and Hammermeier who refused. Virgil then went to give one to Veronica in exchange for a kiss but Peck snapped and tore up the photo! Hammermeier tried to calm things down but Virgil decked him and left the ring leaving his team at a three-on-two disadvantage. It was a bad situation for Peck-N-Hammer but to their credit they made the most of it escaping defeat several times. Hammermeier almost pulled off a huge upset when he executed “Guten Nacht!”, a sitout hangman’s neckbreaker, on the much larger Lee for a big near fall. It would be Lee winning this one for his team when he nailed Peck with the Package Piledriver to score the pin. 6) 2 Cold Scorpio, Sabu, & Rob Van Dam defeated 3.Ole: The reunited trio of 3.Ole (Scott “Jagged” Parker, “Big Magic” Shane Matthews, & El Generico), perhaps the most popular three-man team in CHIKARA history, took on the team named Airborne Extreme (2 Cold Scorpio, Sabu, & Rob Van Dam) in a highly anticipated bout. Generico is still under contract to Ring of Honor but he felt right back at home in CHIKARA as the sell-out crowd serenaded him with chants of “Ole, Ole, Ole!” as he entered the ring. The three men on the other side also got a great reaction as Scorpio of the GWA and Sabu & RVD of the NWC are remembered for their “extreme activity” in this arena. This was a show stealing match with both teams going all out to pick up the victory. Matthews survived a strong assault from Airborne Extreme including being hit with the controversial Van Daminator for a near fall. Generico was on fire during his time in and at one point had RVD set up for the Brainbustaaahhh!!! but he escaped. Moments later RVD went for a dive off the top rope but Generico moved out of the way and cradled him for a big near fall. Sabu would set up the finish in this one as he punished Parker with a strong attack and laid him out so RVD could hit the Five Star Frog Splash for the pin. The crowd cheered the efforts of both teams post-match and Scorpio, Sabu, and RVD left the ring out of respect allowing 3.Ole to accept the adulation from the CHIKARA faithful. 7) The Colony defeated Pinkie Sanchez, Blue Meanie, & Dragon Dragon: The Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant, & Green Ant) took on one of the more unique entries in Worlds of Wonder (Pinkie Sanchez, Blue Meanie, & Dragon Dragon) with the latter trio making up a very colorful team. Fire Ant and Soldier Ant came into the tournament with great momentum having recently won the Campeonatos de Parejas from The Roughnecks (Card #799 in Atlanta, GA) and were hoping to join Green Ant in following up with a big win here. It almost didn’t come to pass as Worlds of Wonder surprised many in coming very close to toppling The Colony. Meanie hit the Meaniesault and Sanchez hit Burning Snicklefritz, a reverse fireman’s carry into a power bomb, for big near falls during the course of the match. The cult favorite Dragon Dragon also used his tail based offense to dominate at certain points but The Colony were able to rally back. Soldier Ant scored a near fall on Sanchez with the TKO and Fire Ant supplied high energy offense including laying out Sanchez with the Burning Hammer. Green Ant would lead his team to victory when he stunned the Meanie with a leaping headbutt and trapped him in a Single Leg Grapevine resulting in a submission victory. 8) Jigsaw, Hallowicked, & Frightmare defeated Kings of Wrestling: The main event of night one saw the popular CHIKARA team of Jigsaw, Hallowicked, and Young Lions Cup champion Frightmare face off against the Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, & Tyler Black) representing Ring of Honor. Hero is no stranger to glory in KOT competition as he teamed with Dr. Cube and Gran Akuma to win the first tournament under the LOW banner three years ago (Card #510 in Philadelphia, PA). This was an incredible bout with both teams coming ever so close to victory. The crowd was on the edge of their seats most of the way as all six men showed off their great skills. Castagnoli impressed with both his power and technique nearly pinning Hallowicked with the UFO followed by a European Uppercut. In contrast Frightmare was off the charts in this bout using his great speed to turn the tables several times. He managed to kick out at two when caught in God’s Last Gift by Black and came back with the Fright Crusher for a near fall of his own. He also avoided a loaded Rolling Elbow Smash by Hero and followed up with a spectacular somersault plancha on “That Young Knockout Kid”. The finish of the bout saw Jigsaw, after nearly pinning Black earlier with the Jig N’ Tonic, get the fall on him this time after connecting with a Jumping Enzuigiri. The fans erupted in cheers as the CHIKARA team advanced to the second round with a win over the formidable Kings of Wrestling from ROH. An irate Black got on the mic after the match and said that he was entering the Rey De Voladores and after winning it he will come back to CHIKARA and take the YLC from Frightmare. The following second round matches will take place on Night Two of King of Trios in Philadelphia, PA (Card #809):
F.I.S.T. (Icarus, Chuck Taylor, & Johnny Gargano) vs. The Order of the Neo Solar Temple (Ultramantis Black, Crossbones, & Hydra) SS-ZERO (Johnny Saint, Shane Storm, & Mister ZERO) vs. Mike Quackenbush, Colt Cabana, & Brutus Beefcake Vin Gerard & The Roughnecks (Brodie Lee & Grizzly Redwood) vs. Airborne Extreme (2 Cold Scorpio, Sabu, & Rob Van Dam) The Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant, & Green Ant) vs. Jigsaw, Hallowicked, & Frightmare
The following are the Rey De Voladores matches with the finals taking place on Night Three:
Gran Akuma vs. Kodama vs. El Generico vs. Amasis Daizee Haze vs. Jakob Hammermeier vs. Tyler Black vs. Ophidian

Thanks for the comments Crimson, Bookerbill, Vegas, and Kamala. Tournament action continues on Night Two of King of Trios...CHIKARA - King of Trios - Night Two - The Asylum Arena - Philadelphia, PA (Card #809)1) Rey De Voladores – Match One: Gran Akuma defeated Kodama, El Generico, and Amasis: The first of two matches to determine the finalists in the Rey De Voladores tournament saw Gran Akuma outlast Kodama of The Batiri, El Generico of ROH, and the “Funky Pharaoh” Amasis of the Osirian Portal. It was an impressive performance by Akuma who, much like Magnum T.A. at WrestleCade VIII, was responsible for the elimination of all three opponents. Kodama looked great during the early action hitting such moves as the Jon Woo Kick and Impaler bulldog. He took Akuma to the outside and roughed him up but would pay for that a short time later. Akuma wound up nailing Kodama with the Yoshi Tonic to score the pin. Generico took over after that and had a great burst of offense including nearly pinning Amasis with the exploder suplex into the turnbuckles. He then hit the Spike Brainbuster on Akuma for a big near fall. Akuma would bounce back and hit the Rubik’s Cube, an electric chair driver, on Generico for the pin. That left Akuma in with Amasis and the two had a hard fought battle that ended in an unfortunate way. After Akuma hit a Yoshi Tonic it was Amasis bailing out of the ring. Akuma followed with a dive through the ropes sending both men crashing into the ring barrier. Amasis took the worst of that blow and wound up being counted out of the ring. Disqualifications and Count Out decisions are normally waived in this type of match but Amasis was in no shape to continue and Akuma was awarded the victory. 2) 3.0 defeated Los Ice Creams: Tag team action was up next as the popular 3.0 (Scott “Jagged” Parker & “Big Magic” Shane Matthews) took on the cult favorite Los Ice Creams (El Hijo del Ice Cream & Ice Cream, Jr.). The action was fast and furious in this match with both teams looking to come away with the victory. Parker scored a big near fall on Ice Cream, Jr. with a counter clothesline out of the corner followed by a Flash Roll-Up. El Hijo del Ice Cream scored with a funny spot as he caught Parker with a fanny pincher and then trapped him in a Sharpshooter for a submission chance. Los Ice Creams also connected with a barrage of double-team moves including the bicycle kicks and seated dive bomb on Matthews for a near fall. The turning point in the match came when Matthews absorbed an attack by El Hijo del Ice Cream and hit the Big Magic Spear before trapping him in the “Boston Crab!” for a submission victory. 3) Rey De Voladores – Match Two: Tyler Black defeated Daizee Haze, Jakob Hammermeier, and Ophidian: With Gran Akuma having advanced to the finals on Night Three, this battle between SHIMMER star Daizee Haze, Jakob Hammermeier of Peck-N-Hammer, ROH star Tyler Black of the Kings of Wrestling, and Ophidian of the Osirian Portal would determine his opponent. Haze, who is a former member of the BDK, has never shied away from facing male opponents in CHIKARA and she was ready for battle here. She scored the first elimination of the match after a grueling four-way battle when she surprised Ophidian with a Missile Dropkick and covered him for the pin. Hammermeier then went after Haze but she gained the upper hand hitting the Mind Trip for a big near fall. Black then cut off Haze and wound up hitting the Phoenix Splash on a prone Hammermeier to score the pin. That left Haze in against Black and the KOW member smiled at the thought of facing his female opponent. Haze got the quick advantage with a Daizeecanrana but then Black took over and laid her out with a vicious gutbuster. The crowd jeered the actions of Black who proceeded to blast Haze with a superkick before coming off the top rope with the Phoenix Splash to score the pin. Black celebrated as if he had won the Super Bowl and World Series combined and vowed to beat Akuma and then take the Young Lions Cup from Frightmare. 4) KOT Second Round: F.I.S.T. defeated Ultramantis Black, Crossbones, & Hydra: The “Friends In Similar Tights”, or F.I.S.T. (Icarus, Chuck Taylor, & Johnny Gargano), have had some rough outings at KOT events and The Order of the Neo Solar Temple (Ultramantis Black, Crossbones, & Hydra) were hoping to add to that despair. This match had everything you could ask for with multiple pin saves, daredevil attacks and Hydra showing great heart by surviving a lengthy assault and then nearly leading his team to victory. Ultramantis dominated early and scored quick near falls on Icarus with the Argentine facebuster and flying lariat. F.I.S.T. turned things around and went on to dominate Hydra for a lengthy stretch which included Icarus scoring a near fall with the Pedigree. Hydra fought back using his “power advantage” and used the Hydra Lock on Taylor setting up Crossbones hitting the Friggin’ Sweet Driver on the “Kentucky Gentleman” for a big near fall. The finish saw Gargano team up with Icarus on the Assisted Ace Crusher laying out Ultramantis. Icarus then connected with the Emerald Flosion on the fatigued Ultramantis and scored the pin to send F.I.S.T. on to Night Three of the tournament. 5) KOT Second Round: Mike Quackenbush, Colt Cabana, & Brutus Beefcake defeated Johnny Saint, Shane Storm, & Mister ZERO: A battle between two tecnico teams saw SS-ZERO (Johnny Saint, Shane Storm, & Mister ZERO) take on “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush, Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana, & Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake. The amount of respect that Quackenbush and Cabana, in particular, have for the veteran Saint made this one real interesting to watch. Saint was at his best early on and nearly pinned Quackenbush with a counter sunset flip off of the ropes. He also scored a near fall on Cabana with a high cross body block. Cabana turned things around using the Billy Goat’s Curse on Storm which set up Beefcake scoring a near fall with a clothesline. Mister ZERO had the crowd in stitches at one point when he poked Cabana in the eyes and took time out to drink a cup of coffee. Levity aside both teams wanted this one and it would be Beefcake leading his team to the win. He overpowered Saint and hit a powerslam for a near fall with Storm making the save. Moments later it was Beefcake trapping Saint in the Sleeper Hold resulting in a submission victory as Quackenbush and Cabana prevented Storm and ZERO from making the save. The win sent Quackenbush, Cabana, and Beefcake into the semi-final round on Night Three where they will face F.I.S.T. 6) Kings of Wrestling defeated The Throwbacks: Two teams upset by being ousted in the KOT faced off in tag team competition as The Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield & Sugar Dunkerton, with Mr. Touchdown) met the ROH team of the Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli, with Tyler Black). With Black having scored a big win in the Rey De Voladores earlier, Hero and Castagnoli hoped to carry that momentum into this match. There was some tension on The Throwbacks side as Mr. Touchdown (Mark Angelosetti) argued with both Hatfield and Dunkerton about having to sit out the match. The Kings took advantage of that and jumped The Throwbacks before the bell with Hero hitting the Rolling Elbow Smash on Hatfield for an early near fall. The Throwbacks were on the defensive most of the way early until Dunkerton caught Castagnoli with a nice series of moves including the Lariat and Kiss My Converse. They nearly won it after hitting the Grandslam Dunk on Hero but Castagnoli was able to make the save. A series of near falls followed for both teams before the Kings took over on Hatfield. Castagnoli caught him with the UFO and then teamed with Hero on the Royal Bomb for a pin attempt but Mr. Touchdown distracted the referee breaking that up. The referee then ejected Mr. Touchdown from ringside. A short time later the Kings would get the win when Hero pinned Hatfield after they hit the Royal Power and Glory. ●As the Kings of Wrestling celebrated their win post-match an angry Mr. Touchdown returned to the ring to confront both Dasher Hatfield and Sugar Dunkerton. The three argued while Claudio Castagnoli and Tyler Black left the ring. Chris Hero remained inside, though, and shoved Mr. Touchdown from behind sending him right into Dunkerton. The two Throwbacks nearly came to blows when Hatfield got in between them and prevented that. Hatfield then explained what had happened and Mr. Touchdown went into a three-point stance aimed at Hero but he quickly jumped out of the ring joining Castagnoli and Black. Mr. Touchdown then grabbed the mic and said that he was “tired of being disrespected” and challenged Hero to a one-on-one match on Night Three which Hero tentatively accepted. 7) KOT Second Round: Vin Gerard & The Roughnecks defeated 2 Cold Scorpio, Sabu, & Rob Van Dam by Count Out: The Dark Menace led trio of Vin Gerard & The Roughnecks (Brodie Lee & Grizzly Redwood) faced Airborne Extreme (2 Cold Scorpio, Sabu, & Rob Van Dam) in what could best be described as a war of attrition. Both teams laid it all on the line in a match featuring high impact power moves, daredevil aerial attacks and a ton of near falls. All six men had memorable moments in this one including Lee hitting a spectacular dive through the ropes on Sabu at one point. RVD would later combine with Sabu hitting Rolling Thunder on Redwood for a near fall. Lee then spiked RVD on his head with the package piledriver and hit the Big Boot on him for a near fall. Scorpio showed off his unique offense hitting moves like the flip leg drop and handspring kick. He also kicked out after taking Roughnecked from Lee and Redwood at one point. The finish saw Gerard, after taking a beating from Airborne Extreme most of the way, get one back as he nailed RVD with a running high knee that knocked him out of the ring. While the others fought on the inside it was Lee going to the floor where he nailed RVD with the Big Boot turning him upside down crashing to the concrete floor. RVD was unable to recover from that devastating blow by the “Big Rig” and wound up being counted out of the ring. The Dark Menace waved his cane in victory as Gerard, Lee, and Redwood advanced to the semi-final round on Night Three. 8) KOT Second Round: Jigsaw, Hallowicked, & Frightmare defeated The Colony: The main event saw The Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant, & Green Ant) take on Jigsaw, Hallowicked, & Frightmare in a battle of tecnico teams. The CHIKARA faithful were split in their support of both teams who showed up carrying plenty of gold as The Colony hold the Campeonatos de Parejas and Frightmare has the Young Lions Cup. CHIKARA Director of Fun Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana, who has a vested interest in the tournament as he is competing in the semi-final round on Night Three, was watching with an eagle eye alongside Ultramantis Black in the Commentation Station. Senior Referee Bryce Remsburg was in charge of the match and he laid down the law to both teams during the ring introductions by Gavin Loudspeaker. Early action included a memorable spot as Jigsaw trapped Fire Ant in a side headlock but then Soldier Ant entered and applied a headlock of his own. The others followed in and it was a headlock train with Remsburg getting involved as he counted three sets of shoulders down as the train performed a side headlock takeover into a pin. The crowd cheered that bit of levity but then things got serious as Soldier Ant hit the TKO on Frightmare for a big near fall. Frightmare would bounce back later connecting with Kneecolepsy on Green Ant for another big near fall. The finish of a great bout saw Jigsaw stun Green Ant with a superkick before hitting the Jig N’ Tonic to score the pin. It was an emotional victory for Jigsaw, Hallowicked, and Frightmare as they advanced to the semi-final round on Night Three. The elimination of The Colony meant that the popular Ant trio would not get the chance to face their rivals, F.I.S.T., in a potential tournament final. The following semi-final and final round matches will take place on Night Three of King of Trios in Philadelphia, PA (Card #810):
F.I.S.T. (Icarus, Chuck Taylor, & Johnny Gargano) vs. Mike Quackenbush, Colt Cabana, & Brutus Beefcake Vin Gerard & The Roughnecks (Brodie Lee & Grizzly Redwood) vs. Jigsaw, Hallowicked, & Frightmare
Additional matches signed for Night Three are as follows:
Archibald Peck vs. Virgil Mr. Touchdown vs. Chris Hero Rey De Voladores Finals: Gran Akuma vs. Tyler Black 12-Large Grand Championship - Falls Count Anywhere Match: Eddie Kingston vs. Larry Sweeney© …and a 34-Person Battle Royal featuring everyone else!

Nice opening to the tournament! Night three will be terrific. I am picking Team Jigsaw over FIST in the finals. Peck vs. Virgil... could be a fabulous comedy match... but Sweeney will need a lot more than comedy to survive with the 12-Large title intact!
