Thanks for the comments Crimson. I agree on Silas Young I was hoping he would win but the dice went against him. Lethal-Aries was really fun. As for the cage match I was actually hoping to see the House of Truth leave but the dice favored them. Next up os the latest edition of LOW All-Star Wrestling with some debuts along with a huge upset...
LOW All-Star Wrestling (Episode 42) - WMC-TV5 Studios - Memphis, TN (Card #831)
Lance Russell opened the broadcast by announcing that his regular broadcast partner, Dave Brown, would have to miss the show due to being away on a weather related assignment. He said that there was plenty to talk about including Phil Davis of the Heartbreak Express facing Ox Baker in a No DQ Match along with Curt Hennig in to defend the LOW Tex-Arkana television title. Before he could continue he was interrupted by a strange banging sound coming from the side door. The words “Blue World Order” then came pumped in over the public address system as the door burst open revealing the Blue Meanie and Stevie Richards. The studio audience cheered the interruption as Richards and Meanie made their way over to the announce table.
LR: “Alright what in Sam Hill is going on here? We have a broadcast format to adhere to guys.”
SR: “Lance Russell, it’s good to be here and in case you didn’t already know the Meanie and I are the bWo, or the Blue World Order, and we are here to brighten up this edition of LOW All-Star Wrestling.”
LR: “Well I wasn’t expecting this but what is it that you guys want here today?”
SR: “Mr. Russell we are huge fans of yours and when we heard that Dave Brown couldn’t be here today we decided to come down and lend our expert commentary to the matches. You see now that I have signed a contract with LOW to compete in the AWE it will only be a matter of time before we take over. In fact the debut match for the bWo is coming up in Milwaukee, WI (Card #837) where we will be facing the Valiant Brothers, the former LOW World tag team champions. It will be oh so sweet to debut with a win over Bobby Heenan and his men.”
LR: “That is quite a boastful statement, Mr. Richards, and we will have to wait and see what happens. As for this broadcast if you guys want to stay out here there is only room for one more commentator so you will have to pick who wants to stay.”
SR: “Ok well the Meanie is a little bloated today so I’m going to handle the commentary. Hey Meanie, grab that hammer you can be the bell ringer!”
LR: “Oh brother, Dave you picked a fine time to take a week off. Alright fellas you can stay on out here but Meanie remember only ring that bell when I give you the signal because we can’t have disorder out here. Whoa-kay let’s get this broadcast officially underway and throw it on up to ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta.”
1) LOW Tex-Arkana Television title: Timber defeated Curt Hennig to win the title:
The Blue Meanie was late in ringing the bell to start this match between LOW Tex-Arkana Television champion Curt Hennig and Timber, “The Insane Lumberjack”, for the title. Timber has never had a championship opportunity in LOW and he was out to make the most of this one. He dominated early thrashing Hennig with power moves including the spinebuster. Hennig seemed off of his game but made a brief comeback executing the rolling neck snap. Timber bailed out of the ring and took over on offense again including running Hennig back first into the ring post several times. Back inside it was Timber coming off of the top rope with the Log Splitter to score a snake eyes pin! It was a shocking finish as Timber captured the LOW Tex-Arkana Television title in what has to be considered a major upset. Richards went to ringside post-match to grab some words from Hennig and he briefly congratulated Timber before saying he was returning to PCW to regroup. Richards called the title win by Timber the “upset of the century” as the Meanie did his strange dance by the announce table. Russell, meanwhile, bowed his head wondering what he had gotten himself into on this broadcast of LOW All-Star Wrestling.
2) George Steele defeated Les Thatcher:
The popular Les Thatcher took on George “The Animal” Steele with manager “Classy” Fred Blassie in his corner. Steele recently returned to the NWC with Blassie, the former two-time LOW World Heavyweight champion, adding him to a stable that includes Nikolai Volkoff & Iron Sheik. Thatcher did a nice job outwrestling Steele in the early going but “The Animal” took over after a berserk sneak attack. Steele used his trademark foreign object, a piece of metal wrapped in athletic tape, on Thatcher before lifting him up into the Flying Hammerlock scoring a submission victory.
As Steele chewed on a turnbuckle post-match, Blassie went to the announce table and said that he was going to lead all of his men to greatness in LOW. Russell then told him that a video tape had been sent in by a new tag team debuting in the NWC. The video showed the American flag and great landmarks in the U.S., including the White House, and it was revealed that Stars & Stripes (The Patriot & Marcus Alexander Bagwell) were headed in. Russell said that there is no doubt that they will be looking for a match with Volkoff and Sheik. An irate Blassie demanded to know why such a tape aired and began ranting at Russell but was interrupted by the Meanie repeatedly ringing the bell. Steele went berserk in the ring and had to be held back by several LOW Officials as Blassie called the Meanie a “pencil necked freak”! He then corralled Steele who had to be dragged off by the LOW officials as the Meanie kept ringing the bell. Russell finally grabbed the hammer away from him and said “by golly can we get some order restored out here!” and threw it to commercial break.
Interview – Paul London:
This pre-recorded interview with Paul London came moments after he lost the LOW Junior Heavyweight title back to the “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson on a Pacific Coast Wrestling card in Phoenix, AZ (Card #826). London was visibly upset with the local reporter asking him questions and he said that Danielson was given a hometown officiating advantage. He said that he has won the LOW Junior Heavyweight title two times and both times he beat Danielson to win the title proving that he is the superior wrestler. He vowed to regain the belt for a third time and said that when he gets back to the GWA the fans will see a new attitude from him. The reporter pressed him on that but London pushed him away saying that everyone will pay for the way that he has been “disrespected” in LOW.
3) Jimmy Snuka defeated Dupae Rupa:
The studio audience was at a fever pitch as Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka made his way to the ring to face “The Belgian Brawler” Dupae Rupa. Snuka recently made his debut in PCW where he reunited with an old rival in “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Rupa didn’t care about that and went at Snuka unleashing a strong attack. He even rolled out of the way of the Superfly avoiding what could have been sure defeat. Richards praised the efforts of Rupa on commentary as he scored near falls with the Belgian Waffle and a top rope clothesline. Snuka bounced back hitting the leap frog and chop followed by a Powerslam to score the pin.
4) No DQ Match: Ox Baker defeated Phil Davis:
This grudge match held under No DQ rules saw “Fabulous” Phil Davis, one-half of the Heartbreak Express, taking on House of Humperdink member Ox Baker. Sir Oliver Humperdink was in the corner for Baker who flashed an evil smile knowing that his deadly Heart Punch had put “Superstar” Sean Davis out of action. Phil went at Baker with reckless abandon but that proved to be his undoing. Baker gained the upper hand on the outside and speared Davis shoulder first into the ring post. He took advantage of that situation and executed a Shoulder Breaker on Davis to score a snake eyes pin. Baker threatened to deliver a Heart Punch post-match but was surprised as “Superstar” Sean suddenly hit the ring attacking him with a chair. Humperdink signaled to the back and out came Genghis Khan setting off a wild brawl between the Heartbreak Express and the SWA team of Baker & Khan. When the dust cleared Russell made a quick phone call to LOW Commissioner Charlie Cox who said that the two teams would meet on the next broadcast of LOW All-Star Wrestling (Card #841).
5) The Mountie defeated George South:
Once again the bell ringing of the Blue Meanie caused a problem as George South took on GWA star The Mountie. This match was dominated by The Mountie but South showed some fight even escaping a Boston Crab submission attempt by getting to the ropes. After executing a piledriver it was The Mountie going for the Shock Stick causing the Meanie to repeatedly ring the bell trying to get the attention of the referee. The Mountie took advantage of that and stunned South with the weapon to score the pin. Russell again chastised the Meanie but the damage had already been done.
Interview – Sharpe Sports Agency, Inc:
Lance Russell made his way to ringside for this interview with “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe, Playboy Buddy Rose and Dewey Robertson of Sharpe Sports Agency, Inc. out of Pacific Coast Wrestling. Sharpe was in a celebratory mood saying that acquiring Robertson was a real coup and they pulled one over on that “half wit” Doug Gilbert. Russell chastised Sharpe for that unnecessary shot at Gilbert but the wrestler-manager laughed it off saying that Gilbert had his chance to join SSA, Inc. but made the foolish decision of spurning his charitable offers. Robertson stepped in and said that he is determined to prove his worth to SSA, Inc. and he will take great pleasure in destroying Gilbert. Rose added that Gilbert was “not worth the effort” and that SSA, Inc. should focus on more important matters. Sharpe said that they can do that and still take the time to “teach that punk a lesson.” Just then a buzz came over the studio audience as a man in a cowboy hat and blue jacket burst in through the side door wielding a baseball bat. He went straight after the SSA, Inc. members who all bid a hasty retreat. A shocked Russell went over to him and said he couldn’t believe his eyes and that it was Tommy Gilbert, the father of both Doug and “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert, drawing big cheers from the crowd. Gilbert then grabbed the mic and cut an intense promo on SSA, Inc. saying that “no one messes with my family” and that there will be “hell to pay.” He said that he was bringing the baseball bat and his fists up to PCW where he and Doug will “kick butt and take names” drawing more cheers from the crowd. Gilbert apologized to Russell for his actions but Russell said that he understood and that it looks like Tommy Gilbert is now a member of Pacific Coast Wrestling.
6) Koko B. Ware & Henry Irslinger defeated The Executioner & Mr. X:
This expiration of time match saw the popular “Birdman” Koko B. Ware & Henry Irslinger battle The Executioner & Mr. X. Russell took the timekeeper’s hammer away from the Meanie for this one as time needed to be watched closely. The most falls scored before television time ran out would determine the winner. Richards said that he loved matches like this for the pure competition involved. The Executioner looked strong early including hitting the Hangman’s Clothesline. Unfortunately the same couldn’t be said for the winless Mr. X. Ware and Irslinger did a number on him and wound up scoring three falls before time ran out. Irslinger pinned Mr. X with the Flying Headlock while Ware got him twice via pinfall with the Ghostbuster. That gave Ware and Irslinger a 3-0 decision victory over their masked opponents. The two celebrated with Richards and the Meanie as the show went off the air ending a wild edition of LOW All-Star Wrestling.
