Hackenschmidt and Thesz had an epic battle this weekend on Old School Saturday night, with Thesz taking the victory. Always an epic battle! Danny Hodge is all man and I am excited to see him take the gold!

Thanks for the comments Bookerbill, Pariah, Crimson and Daytondave. The combo of Thesz-Hackenschmidt have been dominant in the world title scene in my fed for almost a year and a half. It will be interesting to see how Hackenschmidt fares in this reign and what Thesz does to bounce back. Daytondave I knew about their booking in the Heartland but fortunately they were able to make both shows Next up is action from SHIMMER with more history being made...SHIMMER - Women Athletes - Volume 27 - The Eagles Club - Berwyn, IL (Card #928)1) New Blood Battle Royal: SHIMMER promoter Dave Prazak is always on the lookout for new talent and after some recent roster cuts he invited twelve newcomers to the promotion and put them in this 10-Woman New Blood Battle Royal. Some highly touted names were entered including Madison Rayne, Candice LeRae, “The Mountain” Vanessa Kraven and Made In Sin (Allysin Kay & Taylor Made). The winner would stake claim to bragging rights among the newcomers but the match itself would give all of the women an opportunity to impress the fans. Perhaps the most impressive performance came from the mountainous Kraven who single-handedly eliminated Made In Sin. That came when Kay tried to save Made from elimination but Kraven dumped her over the top rope. Kraven then assaulted Made and tossed her over the top rope as well. It came down to Kraven, Rayne, Melanie Cruise and Rhia O’Reilly left as the final four. Rayne and O’Reilly had a ferocious battle that saw the Irish born O’Reilly come out on top. What followed was a battle of the titans as the 200-pound Kraven squared off with the 175-pound Cruise. O’Reilly wisely stayed out of it and it was Cruise coming out on top of that battle. O’Reilly took full advantage of a weakened Cruise and tossed her out after hitting the Rhiadjustment, a double underhook DDT. It was a huge win for O’Reilly over a very talented field. Order of Elimination: ● Kay Lee Ray (by Candice LeRae) ● Kimber Lee (by Madison Rayne) ● “Crazy” Mary Dobson (by Rhia O’Reilly) ● Allysin Kay (by Vanessa Kraven) ● Taylor Made (by Vanessa Kraven) ● Candice LeRae (by Melanie Cruise) ● Madison Rayne (by Rhia O’Reilly) ● Vanessa Kraven (by Melanie Cruise) ● Melanie Cruise (by Rhia O’Reilly) W) Rhia O’Reilly2) Global Green Gangsters defeated Veda Scott & Su Yung: The popular new team of the Global Green Gangsters (“Rate Tank” Kellie Skater & Tomoka Nakagawa) took on Veda Scott & Su Yung, an often underrated tag team in the SHIMMER ranks. Scott and Yung dominated this one early and nearly picked up a big win. It was Scott catching Skater with the Mind Trip, a snapmare driver, but Nakagawa made a last second save. Yung was extremely impressive during her time in but a missed corner charge allowed Skater to gain control. She trapped Yung in the ankle lock and tagged Nakagawa who turned the match around. The Asahikawa, Japan, native was explosive on offense including trapping Scott in the CRB, a bridging reverse chinlock, which set off a four-way brawl. 3G got the better of that and in the end Skater trapped Scott in Skate or Die, a version of the Muta Lock, to score a submission victory. 3) Jessica James defeated Jessie McKay: Veteran star Jessica James out of Dallas, TX, took on “Everybody’s Favorite Girlfriend” Jessie McKay in an anticipated matchup of two popular stars. The two shook hands after the introductions and set off on an often intense battle. Both women were hungry for victory but it was James who seemed a step ahead. She caught McKay with the standing moonsault and, after a missile dropkick off of the top rope, she blasted her with The JJ Kick to score the pin. It was a disappointing loss for McKay who was interviewed by Amber Gertner at ringside following the match. McKay said that she has somehow lost her confidence but that she hopes to turn things around and that led to Malia Hosaka and Heidi Lovelace venturing out to ringside. Hosaka got in the face of McKay and said that at least she was booked on the card not like her and Lovelace and said that she should be grateful instead of complaining about losing. It looked like it could get physical when James returned to ringside and said that McKay could count on her to have her back and that led to a tag team match being signed between the four at Volume 28. 4) Courtney Rush defeated Athena: This match took on a whole new level of importance as SHIMMER promoter Dave Prazak announced that the winner between Courtney Rush and Athena would be the next challenger for the SHIMMER title at Volume 28. The crowd cheered that announcement as Prazak continued saying that both women have earned this chance and that the women competing in the four way elimination match later tonight should pay close attention to this match. Rush started out Strong but Athena was able to take over including hitting an enzuigiri scoring a two count. She also came off of the top rope with her own version of the rear view (deathjump) and executed the cartwheel double knee drop. Rush made a counter off of the ropes and scored with the Northern Lights Suplex before locking on an octopus stretch. Both women left it all out on the table hoping to score the win. The finish saw Rush hammer Athena with corner punches before catching her with the Olympic Slam to score the pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as Rush earned a huge title opportunity and though bitter over the loss Athena showed great class in shaking hands with Rush afterward. 5) Angelus Layne, Sassy Stephie, & Nevaeh defeated Barbi Hayden, Cherry Bomb, & Evie: Barbi Hayden joined forces with Cherry Bomb and Evie to take on the tough team of Angelus Layne, Sassy Stephie and Nevaeh in trios action. Hayden and Layne had a torrid rivalry in Texas prior to arriving in SHIMMER and that was very evident in this match. The two had some great exchanges and would ultimately factor into the finish of a heated battle. Stephie and Nevaeh showed why they are such a dangerous combination by controlling long stretches of the bout. On the other side it was Evie who shined during her time in including planting Nevaeh with a Yakuza Kick setting up a high knee strike from Hayden for a near fall. The finish saw Hayden hit the Hayden Halo, an elevated spike DDT, on Layne for what looked to be a pin but Stephie broke it up. That set off a wild six-way brawl and when the smoke cleared it was Layne recovering and nailing her rival Hayden with Victory Layne, a version of the TKO, to score the pin. 6) Jessicka Havok defeated Thunderkitty: A grudge match took place as Thunderkitty took on “The Havok Death Machine” Jessicka Havok. The two got into a confrontation at Volume 26 when Thunderkitty came to the rescue of interviewer Amber Gertner who was being harassed by Havok. This one was quick and brutal. Thunderkitty tried to overpower Havok but that plan backfired. Havok cut off a brief offensive by Thunderkitty and delivered a sidewalk slam followed by a Standing Lariat to score the pin. Havok demanded to be interviewed by Amber Gertner post-match and the interviewer reluctantly made her way to ringside as officials helped Thunderkitty to the back. Havok intimidated her once again before verbally tearing into Cheerleader Melissa, the former two-time SHIMMER champion. SHIMMER promoter Dave Prazak showed up and said that Melissa was not in the building but if Havok wanted a match with her it could be easily arranged. Havok smiled and said that she would like nothing better than to make an “example” of Melissa and get her rightful shot at the SHIMMER title. Prazak agreed to make the match and said that it would take place at Volume 28. 7) SHIMMER tag team titles: Canadian Ninjas© defeated Regeneration-X to retain the titles: The popular duo of Regeneration-X (Allison Danger & Leva Bates) had a golden opportunity as they took on the Canadian Ninjas (Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews) for the SHIMMER tag team titles. Danger and Bates entered wearing Mountie uniforms and carrying shock sticks made out of paper mache as a way to get under the skin of the Ninjas. Perez and Matthews were livid so it looked like the psyche out by Regeneration-X worked. They dominated this match most of the way as they isolated Perez preventing Matthews from tagging in. Things were looking bad for the defending champions when R-X hit the Sonic Screwdriver, a lungblower and neckbreaker over the knee combo, on Perez but it was Matthews making a last second save. Perez wound up getting the better of Bates in a battle on the outside and the Ninjas were able to set up for their finisher Funky Cold Medina, a superkick by Perez into a bridging German Suplex by Matthews. Perez then cut off Danger preventing a save as Matthews scored the pin on Bates to retain the titles. It was a successful version two title defense for the Ninjas who afterward grabbed the mic and said that they will be the most dominant tag team champions in the history of SHIMMER. 8) SHIMMER title – Four Way Elimination Match: Lufisto defeated Mercedes Martinez, Madison Eagles and Saraya Knight to win the title: The main event was a highly anticipated Four Way Elimination Match for the SHIMMER title as the “Latina Sensation” Mercedes Martinez put the gold on the line against three top challengers in “The Punisher” Madison Eagles, “Super Hardcore Anime” Lufisto and “Sweet” Saraya Knight. All four women were involved in an altercation at Volume 26 to set up this confrontation. Martinez was put in a tough spot as it was her version one defense of the belt and it was against the woman she won the belt from, Lufisto, and two women in Eagles and Knight who had yet to win it so the challenge was a great one. The intensity was evident from the opening bell as Knight got the jump on Lufisto nailing her with a side suplex and locking on the Knightmare for a quick submission attempt. Eagles took over and caught Knight with a flying knee strike to put her on the defensive. Lufisto, meanwhile, leveled Martinez with the Mangalizer and would score a near fall after that with flurry of chops and jabs. Knight was surprisingly the first one to be eliminated when Lufisto caught her with a Tiger Suplex to score the pin. Knight was furious and initially refused to get out of the ring until SHIMMER officials were able to convince her to return to the locker room area. With three women left the tension built even more as Martinez looked to fend off two strong challengers in order to retain the title. The defending champion kicked it into first gear and caught Eagles with the Fisherman Buster for a big near fall. She then took on Lufisto in a heated battle bringing back memories of the No DQ Match where the “Latina Sensation” won the title from her at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY (Card #916). Eagles got back into it and caught Martinez with Hell Bound for a big near fall. Martinez struck back executing a brainbuster on Eagles for a two count. Eagles, however, would get the upper hand again and nailed her with a running big boot. With Lufisto down from an earlier attack it was Eagles planting Martinez with a Brainbuster to score the pin. The elimination of Martinez meant that a new champion would be crowned. Lufisto saw a chance to regain what she had lost and went at Eagles with a vengeance. Eagles was unable to mount a counter attack and Lufisto would go back to the Tiger Suplex to score the title winning pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as an emotional Lufisto became a two-time SHIMMER champion. Eagles graciously shook hands with her as Amber Gertner ventured out to ringside to interview the new champion. Lufisto brought up Courtney Rush who is challenging for the title at Volume 28 and said that it will be a strong challenge and one that she will not take lightly. Gertner went to ask another question when suddenly Knight returned followed by Martinez. The two demanded to get the next shot after Rush and Lufisto agreed to it but SHIMMER promoter Dave Prazak intervened. He said that Knight and Martinez will go one-on-one at Volume 28 but with the added stipulation that it will be a best two-out-of-three falls match in order to determine the number one contender at Volume 29.

Stellar victory by LuFisto to take the top prize... Was hoping that Regeneration-X could take the tag straps, but there was no denying the skills of the Ninjas...
The New Blood Battle Royal was a great way to introduce fresh faces into your Shimmer brand... Excellent job by Rhia O’Reilly on her big victory...
My favorite match was probably Havok's brutal encounter with Thunderkitty... Although brief, I could taste the hostility between those two...
Superb stuff!

I like the victory by James, but my favorite lady in SHIMMER is Portia Perez and seeing she and Mathews retain is the highlight of the card...

Thanks for the comments Pariah and Crimson. The SHIMMER cards always feature amazing action and that one was really fun to roll out. Pariah that Thunderkitty-Havok match was exactly as you imagined it, fairly short but pretty intense. I'm a big fan of the Ninjas as well, Crimson, so them retaining was a pleasant surprise. Actually Pariah that match had a nod to The Mountie as R-X dressed like him. As far as the main event it was a wild one but Lufisto winning the title back was really cool. Thanks for reading and up next is some IWA action with a triple title night in New York, hope you enjoy it...
IWA – Eruption - Hammerstein Ballroom - Manhattan, NY (Card #929)
1) IWA J-Crown Elimination Match: Matthew Cross defeated Green Ant: The opening contest saw Colony member Green Ant lock up with free agent Matthew Cross out of Olde Wrestling. IWA Commissioner David Marquez was sitting at ringside for this all important match to determine who would advance in the IWA J-Crown title tournament. The crowd was split in their support of both men and early on it looked like Green Ant might be on his way to advancing. Cross then countered a wrist clutch Samoan Drop and completely turned the match in his favor. He used a variety of moves, including the standing backward somersault, to pick up near falls over the powerful Ant. After a battle on the outside it was Cross going for the kill as he trapped Green Ant in the Bow and Arrow and scored a submission victory. Cross will now face Chuck Taylor in the next round of the tournament which takes place in Taylor, MI (Card #939).
2) IWA J-Crown Elimination Match: Kyle O’Reilly defeated Davey Vega: The elimination action continued as Kyle O’Reilly, one-half of reDRagon, took on free agent Davey Vega out of Absolute Intense Wrestling. Vega was out to impress and he looked great early including scoring two counts with a super huracanrana and a flying bodypress off of the top rope. Another top rope dive missed and O’Reilly quickly executed an inside cradle hold on Vega for a near fall. That set off a strong offensive from O’Reilly which included him executing Armageddon, a cross arm breaker, going for the submission. Vega survived that and traded holds and counters with O’Reilly building to a great finish. Vega hit another super huracanrana and then a frog splash but O’Reilly recovered and quickly struck with a Brainbuster to score the pin. That means that O’Reilly will move on to the next round in Taylor as he will face the high flying Ricochet.
3) The Castle Experience III: PJ Black defeated Dalton Castle: “The Darewolf” PJ Black out of Cape Town, South Africa, squared off against unique free agent star Dalton Castle who was accompanied by his Boys. Castle was at his flamboyant best entering the ring as his Boys set up like a chair so he could sit down. As ring announcer Gavin Loudspeaker went to introduce the match it was an angry Castle interrupting reminding him that this was the “Castle Experience”. Black hit the ring and quickly pounced on Castle hitting an STO. He dominated from there including hitting his trademark 450 Splash for a big near fall. Castle was fortunate to survive that and he bailed out of the ring to by fanned by his Boys. Black kept on him, though, and hit a jumping spin kick for a two count. Castle finally turned things around and used a bearhug followed by a knee lift and suplex combo. He held the advantage for a good stretch until Black got the better of a battle outside ring. Back inside it was Black striking with a second 450 Splash to score the pin. It was a disappointing loss for Castle who dropped to 1-2 in his “Castle Experience” appearances in the IWA.
4) IWA J-Crown Elimination Match: Rich Swann defeated Eric Ryan: The popular Rich Swann out of Baltimore, MD, faced another free agent star in Eric Ryan who also appears in AIW. Ryan, a native of Amherst, OH, was hoping to pull off a huge victory in this tournament match. Ryan is known for his hard hitting and aggressive style and he controlled the early action including laying Swann out with a diving double stomp. Swann came back with a strong attack of his own and nailed Ryan with the Chicken Fried Driver, a spinning suplex vertical piledriver, but Ryan kicked out at the count of two. Ryan showed great resiliency there and battled back hard but in the end it was Swann hitting a spectacular 5 Star Swann Splash to score the pin. As a result of his victory it will be Swann facing Johnny Gargano in the next round of the tournament.
5) IWA J-Crown Elimination Match: AR Fox defeated Johnny Yuma by Count Out: Highly touted free agent star AR Fox, who many feel will be signed to an IWA contract someday, took on Johnny Yuma in tournament action. Fox started off strong hitting three levels of offense with the Death Valley Driver, imploding senton and Air Fox. He had Yuma in serious trouble until the San Diego, CA, native countered a reverse frog splash and hit a tornado DDT for a big near fall. Yuma followed up with Sex Factor, a jumping DDT facebuster, but Fox kicked out at the count of two. Fox struck back hitting the springboard 450 splash and, after both men went down on a corner collision, he came off the top rope with Lo Mein Pain for a big near fall. The finish of a highly competitive bout saw Yuma counted out of the ring after Fox knocked him for a loop with a running dive over the top rope. It was a tough loss for Yuma but the win by Fox sends him into the next round where he will take on Scorpio Sky.
6) LOW Tex-Arkana Television title: Roderick Strong© defeated Bryan Danielson by Count Out to retain the title: The first of three straight championship matches saw “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson take on House of Truth member Roderick Strong for the LOW Tex-Arkana Television title. Strong was accompanied to the ring by his controversial manager Truth Martini who taunted ringsiders with his Book of Truth. This was an explosive match from the opening bell with both men executing their signature moves. Danielson took the advantage early and stunned Strong with a series of roundhouse kicks and a big discus elbow smash. Strong countered scoring two counts with the Sick Kick and a half nelson backbreaker. Danielson wound up being busted open during a battle on the floor but that hardly slowed him down. He twice fought out of submission attempts with Strong using the Argentine Backbreaker and delivered some big moves like the back superplex and Dragon suplex. Martini was frustrated watching at ringside and unfortunately he would factor into a controversial finish. With both men battling it out at ringside it was Strong nailing a bloody Danielson with the Sick Kick. With the referee issuing his ten count an alert Strong rolled back into the ring as Danielson struggled back to his feet. It looked like Danielson would make it back in when suddenly Martini, out of view of the referee, hooked his leg and held him down as the referee reached a ten count. Strong retained the title in his version eight defense thanks to a huge assist from Martini. The crowd jeered the decision and Danielson protested to the referee but it was to no avail and Strong and Martini retreated to the back clutching the championship.
7) IWA tag team titles: Kings of Wrestling defeated Osirian Portal to win the titles: The IWA tag team titles were on the line in the semi-final as the Osirian Portal (Amasis & Ophidian) defended the belts against the Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli). These two teams met for the titles in El Monte, CA (Card #912) with the Portal coming away with a disqualification victory. The Portal looked good early as Amasis frustrated Hero at several turns. Castagnoli turned things around for KOW and nailed Amasis with the European Uppercut followed by the Ricola Bomb with Ophidian making a timely save. Amasis took advantage of that and quickly cradled Castagnoli for a near fall. Hero took over and worked over Ophidian with the Hangman’s Elbow before KOW hit the KRS One for another near fall. The Portal couldn’t seem to get on track after that and it ended up with Hero hitting the Loaded Rolling Elbow Smash on Amasis to score the pin. The finish was controversial but the decision stood and the Kings of Wrestling were crowned the new IWA tag team champions. It was a tough loss for the Portal who no doubt will look to rebound and try to regain the titles at their first opportunity.
8) IWA Heavyweight title: Diamond Dallas Page defeated Mike Quackenbush© by DQ: The main event saw popular Jersey Shore native Diamond Dallas Page challenge “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush for the IWA Heavyweight title. The rivalry between these two men began back in the waning days of CHIKARA under the LOW banner and once Quackenbush won the IWA Heavyweight title a determined DDP looked to gain a title shot against him. Quackenbush was accompanied to the ring by his manager Percy Pringle III along with fellow Pringle Dynasty members Brian Cage and Lance Hoyt. IWA Commissioner David Marquez did not like what he saw and he ordered the referee to eject both Cage and Hoyt from ringside. Pringle protested the call by Marquez but IWA officials headed out and escorted Cage and Hoyt to the back. When things settled down it was IWA photographer Dr. Mike Lano getting into position to take photos of DDP and Quackenbush as they had a stare down in center ring. Senior Referee Bryce Remsburg then held up the IWA Heavyweight title belt before calling for the bell to get this one officially underway. Quackenbush got the jump on DDP as he turned to the corner and he nailed him with a Quackendriver. DDP was reeling as Quackenbush hit the Jig N’ Tonic for a big near fall just moments into the match. DDP recovered and picked Quackenbush off of the top rope before nailing him with a Russian Legsweep. The crowd was whipped into a frenzy by this point as things were sailing along offensively. DDP went up top but he was caught there by Quackenbush who executed a counter superplex. Quackenbush went for another Jig N’ Tonic but DDP fought out of it and hit him with the Diamond Cutter to a huge pop from the crowd. DDP went for the pin but Pringle interfered grabbing the arm of Remsburg before he could make the count. Pringle went crazy after that tearing up the ringside area and threatening several IWA officials with the timekeeper’s hammer. The official result was a disqualification win for DDP but Quackenbush retained the title in his version two defense. Marquez was upset over what happened and he ordered a No DQ Match between DDP and Quackenbush for the title on the next IWA card in Taylor, MI (Card #939) with Pringle barred from ringside.

Actually Pariah that match had a nod to The Mountie as R-X dressed like him. Noticed that, but forgot to mention it in my post-show reply... So much great stuff going on... I'm quite honored that you remembered that The Mountie is one of my favorite wrestlers... And with Leva Bates being one of my favorite stars of Shimmer, that moment was very cool (even though I know that R-X only did it as a way to provoke their opponents)... Thanks! Now, time to read the IWA results... My favorite brand of LOW action!

IWA in the Big Apple... What a show!
Very happy to see M-Dogg continuing to push forward in the J-Crown tournament... Would love to see him take it all, but there's some truly big name competition in the running... Right now, in saying Gargano or AR Fox have gotta be odds-on favorites...
Congratulations to Roddy Strong (or should I say Truth Martini) on another successful title defense... And in another crooked decision, the Kings claim tag team gold courtesy of Hero's loaded elbow... Are these refs all officiating with their eyes closed?
The main event was spectacular... Was hoping for DDP to put an end to Quack's reign... But, I guess we'll have to wait until they meet again... No rules and no Pringle...
Awesome work!

It's time for DDP to deliver a BANG and take the gold from Quackenbush, but that was a cool Main Event for sure. The J-Crown continues to be thrilling stuff, I can't pick whose going to win it all and that's really cool. The highlight is Roderick Strong keeping a grip on the strap and I'm looking to see how long his reign is, great action my friend...

Thanks for the comments everyone. I am sorry to say that this might be my last show post for a while. I have an older computer and the internet has been very slow of late. I can post from work once in a while but not sure if I can post the show reports. It took me over a half hour just to sign in to the site just now and an additional ten to fifteen minutes just to make each post that I made, this one here and one in Crimson's Evolve fed. It really stinks but it is what it is. Until I find another solution it may be a very slow process updating my fed on here. Thanks as always for all of the past support and I will continue following other feds when I can catch breaks at work. If anything I might post one show a week from home on here even if it takes a while to sign in and post it. I have had my home computer for a long time now but only recently have I had this kind of trouble and getting a new comp isn't in the cards for me right now. I will miss the Fed post, I have always enjoyed your cards. Thanks
