Really fun read. Would have loved to seen the best of three falls go the distance but overall, a great night of action.

Thanks very much for the comments on the Seibu Dome card Pariah, Joebreakdown and Bookerbill. The two huge IWA and KRU events back to back were a lot of fun. Brody vs. Savage was really intense as was the 2-out-of-3 falls match and as Pariah noted the MVC took the measure of Big John Studd but that could be a bad thing. The debut of Moose Nation was fun and if they are successful on their next KRU tour I am sure that the IWA may take an interest in signing them.
Next up will be an edition of LOW All-Star Wrestling and as for the next KRU tour (Cards #962-64) it will feature both the IWA J-Crown and LOW Junior Heavyweight titles being defended along with the return of Bullet Club to Japan. I am not sure when the ASW show will be done but hopefully soon.

You've gotta love those match names, you are really delivering on great match names my friend and my favorite of #950 is Death Mask ENCOUNTER and Steve Williams winning is killer cool. I've said this in the past, but it is true in that you capture different vibes with each of your territories...

I've said this in the past, but it is true in that you capture different vibes with each of your territories... Thanks for the high praise Crimson. I have so much fun picking out the match names for the big shows in Japan as I always loved the way they that they bill their big matches. I am already looking forward to my next Tokyo Dome show just for that reason. As for the territories since I run a lot of them I try to give each of them their own flavor and it is cool when someone points that out.

Ok it is time for some televised wrestling action on Saturday courtesy of LOW All-Star Wrestling. I hope you enjoy it and coming up next will be a huge card from MSG featuring Andre the Giant vs. The Sheik in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match which I hope to be able to roll out soon...
LOW All-Star Wrestling (Episode 54) - WMC-TV5 Studios - Memphis, TN (Card #951)
The broadcast opened with announcers Lance Russell & Dave Brown narrating exclusive footage from both IWA Supercard of Honor at Soldier Field in Chicago, IL (Card #949) and Kings Road United at the Seibu Dome in Seibu, Japan (Card #950). One of the highlights featured Jay Lethal winning a 22-Man Battle Royal to earn a shot at LOW Tex-Arkana Television champion Roderick Strong which is a feature match on the program. The two were then interrupted by Truth Martini, the leader of the House of Truth, and the manager of Strong.
LR: “OK Mr. Martini we have had the displeasure of having you out here before and I’m going to warn you to keep it g-rated this time.”
TM: “Ha ha Russell you are really funny. When is anything in my life g-rated? Hell, check out the Book of Truth for some…”
LR: “Wait just a minute, Martini, that is enough out of you. Just what are you doing out here anyway?”
TM: “Well isn’t it obvious, banana nose, I am out here to praise my man, Roderick Strong, the greatest LOW Tex-Arkana Television champion of all time. If anyone thinks for a minute that he is losing that belt to a loser like Jay Lethal you’ve got another thing comin!”
Before he could continue his rant he was interrupted by SoCal Val, the beautiful manager of Lethal. Russell welcomed her to the broadcast and said that it was nice to have someone like her out there for a change instead of guys like Martini and Jim Cornette.
SCV: “Thanks, Lance. I am so happy to be here today and I just want to tell Mr. Martini that Jay Lethal will be leaving here as the new LOW Tex-Arkana Television champion. As for the Book of Truth if you get involved, Martini, I will stick it where the sun don’t shine!”
TM: “You want to repeat that, little lady. I can make or break a dime store harlot like you who thinks she can be a manager. Roderick Strong has been a dominant and fighting champion and a punk like Lethal doesn’t stand a chance against a thoroughbred like him. Why don’t you take your five dollar outfit and jiggle on to the back and do whatever it is that you do.”
LR: “Now hold on a minute, Martini, I will not let you speak to her like that.”
SCV: “It’s ok, Lance, I will have my revenge at ringside later on today when Jay Lethal wins the title and the Book of Truth is rendered limp and helpless.”
The studio audience cheered that comeback by SoCal Val who left for the back as an irate Martini argued with Russell. The beleaguered announcer then handed it over to Dave Brown to run down the rest of the action.
DB: “Ok, Lance, and besides that great championship match between Jay Lethal and Roderick Strong we also have The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) first up in tag team action, The Warlord of the NWC will be here, Dutch Savage & Pepper Gomez of PCW will be in tag team action and a whole lot more. We also have a special ringside interview with Sherri Martel and Playboy Buddy Rose who have been stirring up trouble for “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe and Sharpe Sports Agency, Inc. in PCW. Without further ado let’s throw it over to ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta to kick off the action.”
1) The Fantastics defeated Johnny Rodz & Mr. X: The popular duo of The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) took on the “Unpredictable” Johnny Rodz & Mr. X. The newly signed SWA stars were fresh off of their debut on the last episode of ASW where they shoved manager Jim Cornette face first into a cake. Rogers and Fulton spoiled the celebration of the Midnight Express that day and left the manager embarrassed and having to be fitted for a neck brace claiming he was “injured” in the attack. Rodz made a great accounting of himself in the match and set up a big near fall on Fulton after saving Mr. X from the Press Slam and Splash finisher of The Fantastics. Rogers was able to rally back on offense and he blitzed Mr. X with a barrage of Dropkicks to score the pin.
2) The Warlord defeated Ricky Landell: A fired up Ricky Landell was hoping to pull off an upset but that was a tall order going up against The Warlord, the imposing muscle bound star out of the NWC. The Warlord went at it alone as his manager Captain Lou Albano was not at ringside. Landell put forth a solid effort and even hit the Fisherman’s Buster but The Warlord kicked out of the pin with authority. Warlord then assaulted Landell nearly putting him away with a bearhug before locking on the Full Nelson for a submission victory.
During the course of the match it was Russell and Brown discussing some important events in LOW including Nick Bockwinkel recently being injured by Ted Dibiase and Kurrgan in the GWA. They also made a major announcement concerning a rematch between William Muldoon and Bruiser Brody taking place on the next AWE card in Lansing, MI (Card #954) with Angelo Poffo being named as the special guest referee for the match. Russell said that with the tension surrounding Brody and the “Macho Man” Randy Savage having Poffo as a referee could create some real fireworks. Brown agreed and added that Poffo might regret accepting that assignment.
● Interview – Abdullah Farouk: PWI Editor Bill Apter conducted this pre-recorded interview with Abdullah Farouk, the manager of The Sheik, at the magazine home offices in Blue Bell, PA. Apter began by questioning the sanity of accepting a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match against the undefeated Andre the Giant on the upcoming NWC card at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY (Card #952). Farouk took offense to that line of questioning and said he felt that he was being banished by having to go to a place like Blue Bell, PA, to discuss the “Noble” Sheik. He added that The Sheik is afraid of no man, not even an undefeated “grotesque” giant, and that he will be the first man in LOW to add a blemish to his record by way of a defeat. Apter responded to that saying that even though The Sheik has an impressive track record, which includes being a former LOW World Heavyweight champion and a record four-time LOW International Heavyweight champion, he might find it difficult to be in a confined area against an athlete as large as Andre. Farouk took offense to that and belittled Apter calling him a “poor excuse” for a reporter and told him to be at ringside and witness the savage beating that The Sheik will inflict on Andre. He added that when all is said and done and The Sheik has defeated Andre that everyone in LOW, right on up to LOW Commissioner Charlie Cox, will bow at the feet of the noble one. Apter thanked Farouk for his time and added that the MSG card will also feature Roddy Piper defending the LOW International Heavyweight title against former champion Greg Valentine, The Patriot vs. Nikolai Volkoff in a Coffin Match and Marcus Alexander Bagwell vs. Iron Sheik in a Ladder Match.
3) LOW Tex-Arkana Television title: Jay Lethal defeated Roderick Strong© by Count Out: The main event of the broadcast saw Jay Lethal, accompanied by SoCal Val, challenge House of Truth member Roderick Strong, accompanied by Truth Martini, for the LOW Tex-Arkana Television title. Martini tried to intimidate Val during the introductions but she chased him off by threatening to slap him. Lethal rolled early and even managed to hit the Lethal Injection but Strong kicked out at the count of two. Strong fought back hitting Death by Roderick and the Gibson Driver before trapping Lethal in the Stronghold. It looked to be over but somehow Lethal got to the ropes for a break causing Val to breathe a sigh of relief. Martini protested claiming that Lethal had already tapped out but the referee would have none of it. Lethal later locked on the Koji Clutch but Strong grabbed the ropes for the break. The finish of a hard fought bout saw Strong counter out of a figure four leglock attempt and bail out of the ring. Martini got in his ear and suddenly the two walked off allowing Lethal to win the match by count out which allowed Strong to retain the title in controversial fashion. Val and Lethal were very upset over that turn of events but the referee said that the match was over. It was a successful version twelve defense of the title for Strong tying him with Ed “Strangler” Lewis for second on the all-time list but it was one that Russell and Brown said that he should not be proud of.
4) Dutch Savage & Pepper Gomez defeated Danny Doring & Amish Roadkill: The PCW pairing of Dutch Savage & Pepper Gomez took on the very capable ASW team of Danny Doring & Amish Roadkill. Savage and Gomez were attempting to tune up their tag skills in preparation for their title match with LOW World tag team champions the Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) in Sacramento, CA (Card #955). They had a rough go of it as Doring and Roadkill put up a strong fight. Doring hit the Danaconda on Gomez at one point for a near fall. They got the heat on Gomez for a good stretch but the popular star out of Mexico City, Mexico, fought back after picking Roadkill off of the top rope with a bodyslam. The finish saw Roadkill going for a running corner splash on Savage but the rugged veteran avoided it and then struck with a vicious Clothesline to score the pin. Savage and Gomez stopped by the announce table post-match and vowed to win the world tag team titles. Russell wished them luck but also mentioned that the men they defeated for that opportunity, The Grappler & Ray “The Crippler” Stevens, will be likely watching on very closely.
5) Johnny Saint defeated Savage-T by TKO: Former two-time LOW Junior Heavyweight champion Johnny Saint of the GWA took on the often delusional Savage-T who was accompanied by his valet KJ Hill. It was a solid performance for Savage-T after he got some help from a Hill distraction when Saint locked on the Three In One. Savage-T went on a great offensive which included hitting the Vertibreaker for a big near fall. He had Saint in trouble several times but the popular British star more than held his own. He wound up using the elevated surfboard hold to punish Savage-T and he wound up passing out instead of submitting so the referee awarded Saint a rare TKO decision.
● Interview – Sherri Martel & Playboy Buddy Rose: One of the hottest rivalries in LOW has been taking place in Pacific Coast Wrestling where Sherri Martel, a record eight-time SHIMMER champion, has attempted to replace “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe as the head of Sharpe Sports Agency, Inc. Lance Russell introduced Martel and SSA, Inc. member Playboy Buddy Rose trying to get to the bottom of the volatile situation. Martel said that Rose, who she affectionately calls “Buddy Bear”, is her “soul mate” and the two have a long history together even before there was anything such as SSA, Inc. She said that when Sharpe recruited Rose as the inaugural member of the group he was promised everything from title opportunities to great wealth but Sharpe has delivered on none of that. Rose added that a man of his great beauty and physical prowess, wit a slim and trim 217-pound physique, deserves to live the finest lifestyle and that Sherri is more than capable of bringing that to him.
Russell looked on in amazement but said that the two did have a point as SSA, Inc. have not accomplished too many major things in LOW and that maybe a change was needed. Sherri agreed and said that she herself has brought two great men into the fold in The Mountie and Dr. Tom Prichard and the future will be bright when she takes over as the head of a renamed Sherri Sports Agency, Inc. At that point the three were interrupted by a stage hand who informed Russell of a video that was sent in by SSA, Inc. The video aired with Sharpe sitting in a throne like chair surrounded by the other members of SSA, Inc. - Konnan, Dewey Robertson, Red Bastien and Billy Red Lyons. Sharpe said that last time in Seattle, WA (Card #947) he was disgraced by Sherri who slapped him in the face following a confrontation. He said that he went directly to LOW Commissioner Charlie Cox and demanded a one-on-one match with Martel but he wouldn’t allow it.
That decision, he added, was lucky for her as he would have wiped the mat with her and sent her out on her tail. That did give him some inspiration, though, and after conferring with his men he decided to challenge Martel to “put up or shut up” and that on the next card in Sacramento, CA (Card #955) it will be a winner takes all match with the losing team having to leave PCW. In fact it would be a ten-man tag team match with him joining Konnan, Robertson, Bastien and Lyons to face Rose, Prichard, The Mountie and any two saps that Martel could find to team with her cheap knockoff version of SSA, Inc. As the video concluded an irate Martel grabbed the mic away from Russell and accepted the match despite pleas from Rose not to do so. Martel then whispered something into his ear and he perked up. Russell asked what that was about and Martel said she already has two men under a deal that they can add to their team – the Texas Hangmen (Killer & Psycho). She said that with the match now official it will be five-on-five in Sacramento and at the end of the night it will be Sherri Sports Agency, Inc. that stands tall and Sharpe and his men can go begging for jobs elsewhere. Russell thanked them for their time and said that it will be a high stakes match coming up in PCW and that Sharpe and his version of SSA, Inc. had better be prepared for a heck of a battle.
6) Les Thatcher defeated Henry Irslinger (4-0): This expiration of time match featured two of the more popular stars on the ASW roster as Les Thatcher took on Henry Irslinger. The most decisions by the end of the broadcast would decide the winner. The two technically sound stars started things off by shaking hands and then engaging in a great bout. Irslinger executed the Flying Headlock back-to-back at one point but Thatcher was able to kick out. Thatcher then picked up the first decision locking on the Stump Puller for a submission. Quickly after that he scored a count out decision after giving a charging Irslinger a back bodydrop on the floor. Irslinger attempted to launch a solid comeback but Thatcher was able to catch him with a Series of Dropkicks scoring the pin. With time winding down after a commercial break it was Thatcher coming off of the top rope with a Flying Bodypress to score the pin. Brown sounded the ring bell moments later ending the broadcast with Thatcher getting the win via a clean sweep with a 4-0 decision.

Thoroughly enjoyed the SSA, Inc. segment... Gotta wonder how Sharpe would've made out against an EIGHT-TIME Women's Champion... But, that ten-person tag team match is gonna be off the chain... Of course, I'll be rooting for the Sherri Sports Agency, Inc. when it all goes down...
Lethal came so close to winning that LOW Tex-Arkana Television title that I'm sure SoCal Val could taste it... Maybe a smart move by Martini, having Roddy bail before he legitimately lost the strap... Expecting we might see Val demand a rematch for her client in the near future...
As always, excellent delivery from start to finish... Lots of solid in-ring action with plenty of exciting hype for upcoming events... LOW hits the mark every time!

I really liked that expiration of time match, that's always a fun thing and it's really cool seeing Les Thatcher winning the match. It was cool Lethal won, but it was even better to see Strong keep his title and being 2nd on the all time list, gotta love that...

Thanks for the comments Pariah and Crimson. The ASW shows are my favorite to put together because I draw from every territory in my fed and anything can happen. I was personally disappointed in the Lethal-Strong finish but it sounded like something Martini would do. The expiration of time matches are always fun and you never know how many falls there will be. I think Les Thatcher might have set a record with that 4-0 win. As for the battle of SSA, Inc. I felt the time had come for a blowoff and I hope it can deliver. Next up we have a huge night of action from MSG, I hope that you enjoy it...
LOW Northern Wrestling Corporation - Madison Square Garden - New York, NY (Card #952)
1) The Sheepherders & Ken Doane defeated S.D. Jones & Heartbreak Express: A spirited opening contest saw the ASW trio of S.D. “Special Delivery” Jones and the Heartbreak Express (Fabulous Phil Davis & Superstar Sean Davis) go up against The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) and their flag bearer Ken Doane. The action was all over the place in the early going until The Sheepherders hit the Double Gutbuster on Jones. Doane was tagged in and he went for the pin but the Heartbreak Express made the save. Doane then did a number on Jones and tagged in Miller who nailed him with a Running Knee to the Gut to score the pin. The crowd jeered the victory by The Sheepherders and Doane who proudly displayed the New Zealand flag as the trio returned to the locker room.
2) Nora Greenwald defeated Simply Luscious: The Ring Angels division of LOW continues to grow and two of the latest additions to the roster, Nora Greenwald and Simply Luscious, faced off at MSG. Greenwald was dominant early but then Luscious caught her with a picture perfect Death Valley Driver for a big near fall. The two women fought out to the floor several times and had some heated exchanges, one of which nearly resulted in a double disqualification. A fired up Greenwald bounced back late in the match flooring Luscious with a missile dropkick (deathjump, ch) before connecting with her trademark Flipping Seated Senton to score the pin.
3) Sam Houston defeated George Steele: Popular NWC newcomer Sam Houston out of Waco, TX, had the very tough task of facing the unorthodox George “The Animal” Steele. With manager Fred Blassie unavailable due to having recently competed for Kings Road United in Japan, it was made even tougher since Steele had no one to control him. Things were pretty even until Steele caught Houston with a foreign object to the throat and then lifted him into the Flying Hammerlock. The crowd rallied behind Houston who somehow flipped out of the hold and caught Steele with the combo punches. Another barrage of combo punches and the Bulldog resulted in consecutive near falls for Houston. It also resulted in the crowd seriously rallying behind the popular young star. Steele turned the tables late and went for a deathjump but Houston rolled out of the way and then quickly caught him with a Roll-Up to score the pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as Houston pulled off a huge upset victory over Steele in his debut at MSG.
4) Tony Atlas defeated Fritz Von Goering: The powerful “Mr. USA” Tony Atlas went up against German star Fritz Von Goering in what was a really heated match. Von Goering attempted to jump Atlas out at ringside but he reversed it sending him into a table. Atlas then dominated the early part of the match including scoring a near fall with a jumping headbutt. He was able to overpower him at every turn until Von Goering picked him off of the top rope with a bodyslam. Von Goering then struck quickly with the Backbreaker and covered Atlas for a big near fall. Von Goering went on a nice offensive and used both the standing full nelson and reverse full nelson to punish him. He also trapped Atlas in the cobra clutch nearly resulting in a submission victory. Atlas mounted an impressive comeback late in the match and hit the Press Slam and Splash on a stunned Von Goering to score the pin.
5) Antonino Rocca & Ilio DiPaolo defeated Killer Kowalski & One Man Gang: Feature tag team action saw Antonino Rocca & Ilio DiPaolo join forces to battle Killer Kowalski & One Man Gang who were accompanied by their manager Captain Lou Albano. The always vocal Albano argued with ringsiders yelling about his men being “my champions, your champions” over and over again. It made no sense but then again the rantings of Albano usually don’t make sense. The action in the ring was top notch, though, as both teams attempted to secure a win. Kowalski nearly did just that when he caught Rocca with a backbreaker covering him for a two count. He then slapped the Kowalski Claw on the midsection of Rocca but he was able to fight out of the hold. DiPaolo did a nice job rallying his team and was especially impressive taking on the massive OMG. Late in the bout it was OMG laying out Rocca with the running corner splash to set up a bombs away knee drop from Kowalski. Rocca was in serious trouble until making the hot tag to DiPaolo who exploded into action. Kowalski turned things around briefly but hen a whip into the turnbuckle led to a surprise finish as DiPaolo rebounded off with a Counter Running Lariat to score the pin. The crowd cheered wildly as Rocca and DiPaolo picked up a huge win over Albano and his men.
6) Ladder Match: Iron Sheik defeated Marcus Alexander Bagwell: In only the third ever Ladder Match to be held in the history of LOW, Marcus Alexander Bagwell of Stars & Stripes took on the Iron Sheik as both the U.S. and Iranian flags hung up above the ring. The Patriot accompanied Bagwell to ringside while the Iron Sheik had Nikolai Volkoff in his corner. The referee, however, ordered both men to return to the back before the match could officially get underway. Bagwell fought hard in this one but the Iron Sheik always seemed one step ahead. The Sheik launched a vicious assault including jumping off of the top rope hitting Bagwell over the head with his pointed boot which he had removed earlier. Bagwell was busted open and in a bad way as the Sheik poured on the punishment. A sidewinder suplex left Bagwell in a bad way and the Sheik quickly locked on the Camel Clutch. The referee urged the Sheik to release the punishing hold as Bagwell was unable to respond. That led to the Iron Sheik, with pointed boots and all, climbing up the ladder and grabbing the Iranian flag to secure the victory. The crowd jeered the decision as once again Stars & Stripes suffered a crippling blow against their rivals. To make matters worse the Sheik also grabbed the U.S. flag and draped it over the bloody and nearly unconscious Bagwell while holding up the Iranian flag.
7) Mil Mascaras defeated Cowboy Bob Orton: Freelance star Mil Mascaras, a record seven-time LOW World Heavyweight champion, made a special appearance at MSG taking on the tough “Ace” Cowboy Bob Orton. The early advantage was traded back and forth as each man looked for an opening. Orton managed to secure s stepover toehold but Mascaras countered and was able to apply the Indian Deathlock. That kind of give and take went on for a good while before Mascaras trapped Orton in the octopus hold nearly winning the match via submission. Mascaras then went up to the top rope and waited for Orton to get back to his feet leading to him delivering his trademark Flying Bodypress to score the pin. It was a sensational victory for Mascaras who was cheered by the crowd as he returned to the locker room.
8) Coffin Match: The Patriot defeated Nikolai Volkoff: The pressure was on The Patriot as he took on Nikolai Volkoff in only the second ever Coffin Match to be held in LOW. The first was between George Steele and The French Angel at Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan (Card #393) on a GWA card. With Marcus Alexander Bagwell having lost to the Iron Sheik in their Ladder Match, The Patriot was hoping to gain some revenge for Stars & Stripes. The Iron Sheik accompanied Volkoff out to ringside but was quickly ejected by the referee who wanted things settled one on one. Bagwell, meanwhile, was being stitched up by paramedics in the back following his tough loss to the Iron Sheik. The coffin positioned at ringside had both the U.S. and Russian flags placed on poles on top of it for the winner to grab after closing the coffin. The intensity was off the charts for this match which saw both men make numerous attempts to put each other into the coffin. Volkoff was busted open during the course of the battle but he fought back hard hitting such moves and holds as the running stomp and Russian Bearhug. The Patriot weathered the storm and late in the bout he leveled Volkoff with the Patriot Missile. The finish of a wild bout saw both men battling over the coffin when The Patriot executed Uncle Slam driving Volkoff onto the lid. He then removed Volkoff from the top and opened the lid drawing cheers from the crowd. The bloody Volkoff was out of it as The Patriot hoisted him up and dumped him into the coffin. Moments later he grabbed the Russian flag and tossed it on top of Volkoff before slamming the lid closed to secure the victory. It was an emotional win for The Patriot who grabbed the U.S. flag and paraded around ringside celebrating with the fans.
9) LOW International Heavyweight title: Greg Valentine defeated Roddy Piper to win the title: This highly anticipated rematch between LOW International Heavyweight champion “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and former champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, who was accompanied by his manager Captain Lou Albano, was one for the ages. Piper won the belt from Valentine in his adopted hometown of Portland, OR (Card #940) but Albano was quick to secure a rematch for his charge. Valentine was relentless throughout as he pretty much dominated most of the way. Using chops, forearms and the falling elbow hammer he punished Piper who desperately tried to fight back. Piper finally hit a bulldog and swinging neckbreaker but Valentine quickly regained control and used the falling elbow hammer scoring a two count. Another rally by Piper saw him trap Valentine in the Sleeper Hold nearly winning it by submission but it was broken up in the ropes. Albano shouted at Valentine to get back into it and he did after taking the match out to the floor. Valentine gained control and lifted Piper up giving him a kneebreaker on top of the guard rail. That was the beginning of the end for Piper as back inside it was Valentine applying the Figure Four Leglock to score a snake eyes submission victory. The crowd jeered the decision as a jubilant Albano grabbed the title belt from the timekeeper’s table and handed it to Valentine who became a two-time LOW International Heavyweight champion.
Piper needed assistance to get up but then refused it and used the ropes to stand up. He glared back at Valentine who taunted him with the title belt. Albano then moved in shouting something but Piper responded with an eye poke and a big right hand sending him crashing to the canvas. The crowd cheered that and Valentine then grabbed a dazed Albano pulling him out of the ring while Piper soaked in some more cheers.
10) Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match: Andre the Giant defeated The Sheik: The main event saw the undefeated streak of the “Eighth Wonder of the World” Andre the Giant once again on the line as he faced The Sheik, a former LOW World Heavyweight champion and a four-time LOW International Heavyweight champion. The match was held inside the rarely used Barbed Wire Steel Cage and came about due to an intense rivalry between the two which has included The Sheik twice burning Andre with the dreaded Fireball. Manager Abdullah Farouk accompanied The Sheik to the ring but the referee had security escort him to the back in order to prevent any possible interference such as slipping a foreign object into the cage. Andre had a look of anger on his face as he stared down the Sheik once the two were inside the cage together. There is only one word to describe the action that took place in this match – brutality. Both men were busted open during the course of the bout and The Sheik, in particular, was bleeding badly. Andre used his commanding power to dominate using the bodyslam and bearhug to great effect. The Sheik managed to escape a bearhug at one point and sent Andre back first into the barbed wire. He also used a sharp object to gouge the forehead of Andre. It was a vicious assault but Andre withstood it and late in the bout he laid The Sheik out with a turnbuckle squash. Moments later Andre dove on top of The Sheik with the Big Splash and scored the pin. It was a crushing end to a brutal battle and afterward The Sheik had to be carried out of the ring on a stretcher. He was diagnosed with severe rib and abdominal injuries and is expected to be out of action for several weeks. Andre had to be stitched up but is not expected to miss any ring time.

SNAP! Andre shows is WHY he is called the Eighth Wonder of the World... To quote Rorschach from the Watchmen movie, "None of you seem to understand. I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with ME!" As unbelievably tough as he is, I'm being The Sheik understands that now...
Too bad that Piper dropped the LOW International Heavyweight title to the former champion so soon after winning it... Valentine was on point and gained a solid clean victory to reclaim the gold... Sure, Piper gained a measure of revenge by slapping around Captain Lou, but I'm certain that the Hammer's manager will consider that a small price to pay, considering the end result...
Stars & Stripes split a couple of vicious decisions with their standing enemies, Iron Sheik and Volkoff... One might think that would be the end of it... However, when you're talking about patriotism, there is never an end to it...
As always, another spectacular event... This fed has such a rich history and you've done an absolutely stellar job of documenting it all... Awesome work!
