I like Ken Doane as the flag bearer for the Sheepherders and them winning in a way is a nice surprise, plus Sam Houston is a good surprise over George Steele. What a very intense war between Andre the Giant and The Sheik, so seeing them battle in a Barb Wired Cage Match was cool stuff. I also like that Greg Valentine won gold from Roddy Piper...

Thanks for the comments Bookerbill, Pariah (really enjoyed your breakdown of the events) and Crimson. Andre vs. The Sheik was brutal as expected and The Sheik will be out of action for a while. It was really a night of specialty matches as both the Ladder Match and Coffin Match were also pretty intense. I was bummed when Piper lost the gold, since he had just won it, but Valentine deserved that win. He dominated pretty much the entire match.
Thanks again for reading and commenting. I have yet to roll out the next show, an SWA card headlined by Bobo Brazil defending the LOW World Heavyweight title against Buddy Rogers, but hopefully soon. I also recently got the 80's Mania Wrestling set and believe it or not those cards will be making appearances in my legends fed but as special attractions and will only face each other. I have the 8MW stars currently scheduled to appear on my next LOW All-Star Wrestling show and then in a special eight-man tag on the final night of the next KRU tour of Japan. I love the set and I couldn't resist adding them in somehow. In a way I liken them to the stars of CHIKARA, many of whom have strange gimmicks so the 8MW guys could easily be added to a legends type fed in my opinion.

I was finally able to roll out the next card so here it is. Action from the SWA and I hope you enjoy it...
LOW Southern Wrestling Alliance - AT & T Center - San Antonio, TX (Card #953)
1) Wild Bull Curry defeated Koko B. Ware: The “Birdman” Koko B. Ware appearing courtesy of ASW tested his skills against Wild Bull Curry, the newest member of the House of Humperdink. Manager Sir Oliver Humperdink scored quite a coup in acquiring Curry who also considered an offer to join the AWE where his son, Flying Fred Curry, is currently competing. The popular Ware got the early jump on Curry but his offensive would not last long. Curry took it out to the floor and mauled Ware including hitting him with a chair shot that nearly resulted in a disqualification. Humperdink did a good job in preventing that and Curry followed up by slipping brass knuckles on his hand and delivering the devastating Right Hand Punch to score the pin.
2) Mildred Burke defeated Angel Orsini: Two-time SHIMMER champion Mildred Burke took on tough Italian star Angel Orsini in this match presented by the Ring Angels division of LOW. There has been talk of establishing a Ring Angels championship and Burke would likely be considered one of the favorites to win it. Orsini showed that she is not one to be taken lightly either as she pushed Burke to the limit. That included hitting the German Suplex three times one of which resulted in a near fall. Burke was able to reverse the momentum late scoring a two count with a counter roll-up after Orsini missed with a charge into the corner. Burke then trapped Orsini in the Alligator Clutch, her very punishing variation of the Boston Crab, and that led her to a submission victory.
3) Blonde Bombers defeated Love Brothers by DQ: Great tag team action saw the Love Brothers (Reginald & Hartford Love) taking on the Blonde Bombers (Chris Candido & Bobby Shane) who were accompanied by their manager J.J. Dillon. The Blonde Bombers were coming off of an unsuccessful challenge of the LOW World tag team titles against the Road Warriors but they made a great accounting of themselves in that match. Their opponents, the Love Brothers, have become something of a cult favorite tag team in the SWA since they came in from PCW and a rivalry with the Bombers seems natural. This match saw both teams with some great offensive attacks and had the crowd on the edge of their seats. The finish saw Candido gain the upper hand on Reginald and execute his trademark Blonde Bomb from the top rope for what looked to be a sure pin but Hartford broke it up. Hartford proceeded to choke out Candido with the love beads as Shane ran in only to be cut off by the referee. Reginald recovered and went after Shane as the referee turned around and called for the bell as Hartford refuse to release his choke. The Blonde Bombers won it by DQ but it was a painful win as Candido had to be helped to the back by Shane and Dillon afterward.
4) Mike Graham defeated Don Muraco: The popular Mike Graham, a native of Tampa, FL, squared off against “The Magnificent” Don Muraco in a highly anticipated bout. Graham has the technical skill and pedigree being a second generation wrestler while his opponent, Muraco, has been on a vicious run in the SWA since reverting back to his old rulebreaking ways. Muraco used his size and strength advantage to dominate the early action including hoisting Graham up for the over the shoulder backbreaker. Graham caused him some anxious moments late scoring consecutive near falls with the Oklahoma side roll and rolling cradle. After a battle out on the floor it was Graham catching Muraco with a vertical suplex followed up quickly by a Cross Bodyblock to score a snake eyes pin. It was a huge upset win for Graham and Muraco was visibly frustrated over the loss. He attempted to go after Graham but was then surprised by his main rival, Magnum T.A., who ran into the ring and laid him out with a Belly to Belly Suplex! The crowd erupted in cheers as Magnum and Graham celebrated that turn of events. When Muraco recovered he bailed out of the ring and grabbed the mic telling Magnum and Graham that he was going to find a tag team partner and face them on the next SWA card in Charleston, SC (Card #960).
5) Kevin Sullivan & Ox Baker defeated Angelo Mosca & Hillbilly Jim: Angelo “King Kong” Mosca & Hillbilly Jim joined forces to take on the dangerous House of Humperdink combination of Kevin Sullivan & Ox Baker. This match took place outside the ring almost as much as it did inside the ring and both teams somehow avoided a disqualification. Manager Sir Oliver Humperdink prowled ringside with his Singapore cane and would get involved in a big way before it was all over. Baker delivered the Heart Punch to both opponents during the course of the match but both pin attempts were broken up. In addition both Sullivan and Baker were busted open during the bout. Jim looked to have the match won when he caught Baker in the Bearhug but Humperdink got involved distracting the referee. That led to the official angrily ejecting Humperdink from ringside drawing cheers from the crowd. It was looking bad for the House of Humperdink at that point but then Sullivan took advantage on the outside sending Mosca back first into the ring post. That led to Sullivan trapping Mosca in a Boston Crab while Baker battled Jim out to the floor. Mosca was unable to escape the hold and he tapped out giving a submission victory to Sullivan. It was a bitter defeat for Mosca who argued with Jim afterward before storming away from ringside.
6) Dennis Condrey, Bobby Eaton, & Randy Rose defeated Lou Thesz, Bobby Fulton, & Tommy Rogers: Feature six-man tag team action saw two-time LOW World Heavyweight champion Lou Thesz team up with The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) to take on all three members of the Midnight Express (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey, “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton, & “Ravishing” Randy Rose). Manager Jim Cornette led his men out to ringside wearing a neck brace claiming to still be injured from The Fantastics running him face first into a cake. The crowd got on Cornette while The Fantastics mocked him reenacting the cake incident. A red faced Cornette ordered his men to get the job done but it wasn’t going to be easy. Thesz was outstanding in the early part of the match including tying up Condrey in the STF, or stepover toehold facelock. Fulton tagged in and executed the Fantastic Cradle on Eaton scoring a near fall. Eaton managed to turn things around for his team putting on a stellar performance including delivering the top rope elbow. A drop toehold attack by Rose and Condrey on Fulton resulted in another near fall. The finish of a tumultuous battle saw the Midnight Express execute the Rocket Launcher on Rogers with Eaton covering him to score a snake eyes pin. There was a post-match melee involving all six men before Cornette convinced his men to bail out of the ring. Fulton then grabbed the mic and said that it was time for the Midnight Express to go down and challenged them to a tag match on the next SWA card in Charleston, SC (Card #960).
7) Blackjack Mulligan defeated Johnny Valentine by DQ: One of the most intense rivalries in the SWA has centered around Blackjack Mulligan and the House of Humperdink, most notably with Mulligan focusing on the man that is the cornerstone of the group in one Johnny Valentine. Sir Oliver Humperdink was back out at ringside hoping to lead Valentine to a big victory. Mulligan had things going his way early and managed to trap Valentine in the Claw Hold but it was broken up in the ropes. Valentine battled back and twice hit the vicious Atomic Skullcrusher but Mulligan managed to kick out of the pin both times. The two would battle out to ringside several times and both men were busted open as a result of the violent battles. Late in the match it was Mulligan hitting a back elbow ram and going for the pin but Humperdink distracted the referee. Mulligan then applied the trapezius claw on Valentine going for the submission but Humperdink got into the ring and hit him with the Singapore cane. The referee immediately called for the bell and ruled Mulligan the winner via disqualification. Mulligan was subsequently hit with several more cane shots and was left lying before LOW officials managed to clear the ring.
8) LOW World Heavyweight title: Bobo Brazil© defeated Buddy Rogers to retain the title: The main event was for all the marbles as the popular Bobo Brazil defended the LOW World Heavyweight title against “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers, a former world heavyweight champion who last held the belt eight years ago. In fact it was Brazil that defeated Rogers for the title (Card #150 in New York, NY) so the “Nature Boy” was looking to return the favor. Manager J.J. Dillon was out at ringside for Rogers and gave him some advice just prior to the start of the match. Rogers looked good in the early going as he kept Brazil on the defensive and laid him out with a piledriver before attempting a pin using the ropes. Brazil used his power to mount a comeback flooring Rogers with a shoulder tackle off of the ropes. He then scored two counts with the Bobo bodyslam and a Coco Butt. Dillon looked on worried at ringside as it looked like Rogers was in serious trouble. Rogers managed to make his own comeback taking the match out to the floor several times while narrowly avoiding being disqualified by the referee. He nailed Brazil with an atomic drop and was setting up for the Figure Four Grapevine but was unable to lock on his trademark hold. Brazil went to the grinding hammerlock and then hit another Coco Butt but Dillon broke up the pin by putting Rogers’ foot on the bottom rope. Rogers was busted open by that point and another Coco Butt saw Dillon run in but Brazil quickly tossed the manager over the top rope. As a bloody Rogers then staggered to his feet he was nailed with another Coco Butt by Brazil resulting in the pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as Brazil pulled out a successful version two defense of the championship.

That was good to see Curry with the victory, but what I really liked from your latest show is a huge victory for Mike Graham over Don Muraco. I also liked that Muraco is looking for a partner to face Magnum and Graham, that'll be fun to see who it is and how it will unfold...

What a main event! Even the crooked intervention of JJ Dillon couldn't prevent Bobo from holding onto that coveted prize...
The six-man tag encounter provided some fast paced action and adds more fuel to the fire ashtray burning between The Fantastics and Midnight Express...
Always exciting when someone announces they're going to find themselves a 'mystery partner' and now it looks like Don Muraco is going to do just that... I've got a few thoughts... Can't wait to see who joins him against Magnum TA and Mike Graham...
Once again, a superb delivery... From Koko B. Ware's heartbreaking loss to Wild Bull... All the way to Bobo's celebration... Great work!

Thanks for the comments on the SWA card Crimson and Pariah. Wild Bull Curry has been fun to use thus far and it will be interesting to see how much success he can have as part of the House of Humperdink. The victory by Mike Graham over Don Muraco really surprised me and is something that is so great about this game. You never know what is going to happen and now Muraco looks to even the odds by bringing in a mystery partner. You may even be able to see his name elsewhere on that card (hint, hint).
The Brazil-Rogers match as well as the six-man tag were a lot of fun and the J.J. Dillon botched interference in the former was classic. Next up will be an AWE card headlined by William Muldoon vs. Bruiser Brody with Angelo Poffo as the special guest referee.

Next up will be an AWE card headlined by William Muldoon vs. Bruiser Brody with Angelo Poffo as the special guest referee. After all the grief Brody has caused his family, will Angelo Poffo be able to call this one down the middle? Will Brody be able to restrain his own urges and not try to assault the guest referee? Gonna be a wicked show!

I have not had much time to roll the dice recently which explains the lack of posting shows but I finally got this one done so I hope you enjoy the action...
LOW American Wrestling Enterprise - Lansing Civic Center - Lansing, MI (Card #954)
1) Lord Zoltan defeated George South: Veteran star George South of LOW All-Star Wrestling took on the mysterious Lord Zoltan, a newcomer to the AWE managed by Jimmy Hart, in the opening bout. The capable South made a good accounting of himself with several offensive spurts but Zoltan held the edge most of the way. South survived the Triangle Death Grip with a rope break but Zoltan wound up hitting him with a Foreign Object, a taped piece of steel, to score the pin. The crowd jeered the decision and Hart afterward spoke to some local reporters and said that he has signed Zoltan to face Yukon Eric on the next AWE card in Chicago, IL (Card #965).
2) Larry Zbyszko defeated Lanny Poffo: The popular “Leaping” Lanny Poffo took on the self proclaimed “Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko who was accompanied by his manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. There was a disturbance at ringside before the match as Bruiser Brody, barking and swinging his chain, attempted to get at Poffo but he was surrounded by a number of LOW officials. They eventually convinced Brody to retreat but the situation had to rattle Poffo who has seen both his brother, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, and his father, Angelo Poffo, involved in altercations with him. In fact the main event would see another Poffo-Brody confrontation but for now Lanny had to deal with the very strong challenge of Zbyszko. Poffo put up a good fight but Zbyszko scored a near fall with a backbreaker. Moments later, with Heenan distracting the referee, it was Zbyszko removing the top turnbuckle pad. He then scored with the Head Slam into the exposed turnbuckle to score the pin. It was a controversial win for Zbyszko but both he and Heenan were pleased with their work. The obviously still rattled Poffo was cheered by the crowd as he returned to the locker room.
3) Jim Brunzell & Fred Curry defeated Finlay & The Terrible Turk: A most interesting tag team bout saw Jumpin’ Jim Brunzell team up with AWE newcomer “Flying” Fred Curry to take on the formidable team of the “Belfast Bruiser” Finlay & The Terrible Turk (Youssuf Ishmaelo). Both Brunzell and Curry are known for their spectacular dropkicks and at one point they hit them back-to-back on Finlay for near falls. Finlay bounced back and hit the Celtic Cross on Brunzell but Curry was able to make the save. The Turk had a strong run against Curry including executing the camel backbreaker, falling bodyslam and Neck Wrencher. Curry survived the onslaught and scored a big near fall on The Turk late in the match courtesy of a top rope sunset flip. The finish saw Brunzell make a comeback on Finlay and trap him in the Figure Four Leglock. The Turk ran in but Curry cut him off and that left Finlay with no choice but to tap out to the punishing hold. Brunzell and Curry picked up a very impressive victory drawing cheers from the crowd.
4) Rick Rude defeated The French Angel: In pre-match interviews on local television it was manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan praising the great “beauty” of “Ravishing” Rick Rude while poking fun at The French Angel calling him a “grotesque beast”. The Angel countered saying that he would make sure that both Heenan and Rude found out what “ugly” really meant in the ring. Rude got off to an aggressive start and scored a slew of near falls including hitting the piledriver and top rope kneedrop. The Angel was busted open and in serious trouble before he even knew what had hit him. The Angel mounted a brief attack late but Rude quickly turned the tables and hit the Rude Awakening to score the pin. It was a huge win for Rude who showed just why he is considered the cornerstone of the Heenan Family.
5) King Kong Bundy defeated Dan Severn: Popular Michigan native Dan “The Beast” Severn received a huge ovation from the crowd as he headed to the ring to take on First Family member King Kong Bundy who was accompanied by his manager Jimmy Hart. Severn, a former LOW World Heavyweight champion, held his own against the 446-pound Bundy in what was a great battle. A great spot saw Bundy execute a shoulder tackle but Severn shook it off and slipped behind the behemoth executing a German suplex. He then locked on a choke sleeper going for the submission but it was broken up in the ropes. Bundy recovered and used his size to his advantage including crushing Severn with the elbow drop off the ropes at one point. The two fought to the outside late in the match and a distraction by Hart allowed Bundy to crush Severn with a splash against the ring barrier. Back inside it was Bundy hitting the Avalanche and going for the pin but Severn kicked out to a big pop from the crowd. The move failed the first time but then Bundy delivered another Avalanche crushing Severn and that resulted in a pin. Bundy demanded that the referee issue a five count and he did adding insult to injury as Severn was unable to kick out. The crowd jeered the decision as Hart jumped into the arms of Bundy celebrating his win over a former world heavyweight champion.
6) LOW Tex-Arkana Television title: Roderick Strong© defeated John Pesek to retain the title: The LOW Tex-Arkana Television title was on the line as the “Nebraska Tiger Man” John Pesek challenged Roderick Strong for the championship. Strong, who was accompanied by his manager Truth Martini, came into the match having recently been pushed to the limit by fellow IWA star Jay Lethal. Pesek hoped to follow up on the performance of Lethal and grab the gold for himself. He had the momentum going his way through most of the early going using holds like the lateral press keylock to keep Strong on the defensive. Strong was visibly frustrated and bailed out of the ring seeking advice from Martini. Pesek followed him out, however, and continued his attack. Strong later bailed out again but this time he took the upper hand and dropped him with an Olympic Slam on the timekeeper’s table. The table didn’t break and the referee waived off a disqualification but Pesek was left in a bad way. Strong then literally snatched victory from the jaws of defeat and blasted Pesek with the Sick Kick to score the pin. Martini grabbed the title belt and ran in to celebrate with Strong who made his successful version thirteen defense of the title now putting him alone in second place on the list. The “War King” Eddie Kingston holds the record with fourteen successful defenses of the championship.
7) Midnight Rockers defeated Valiant Brothers: Two of the top teams in the AWE squared off as the popular Midnight Rockers (Stan Lane & Marty Jannetty) took on the Valiant Brothers (Jimmy “Boogie Woogie Man” Valiant & “Luscious” Johnny Valiant) who were accompanied by their manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. The early action saw the Valiant Brothers with the upper hand and Johnny nearly pinned Lane after a kick to the groin. Lane took a ton of punishment during that stretch before making a hot tag to Jannetty who quickly turned the tables. He caught Johnny with the Rocker Dropper for a big near fall that had Heenan clutching his heart. Heenan later distracted the referee when Jannetty hit the move for a second time. The Valiant Brothers regained control after a battle on the outside and Jimmy looked good here using the abdominal stretch, wind-up elbow drop and neckbreaker hoping to set up the Rockers for a defeat. The turning point came when Johnny went up to the top rope but was picked off with a bodyslam by Jannetty. Moments later it was Lane tagging in and blasting Johnny with the Superkick to score the pin as Jannetty cut off a save attempt by Jimmy. The crowd went wild as the Rockers picked up a big win while Heenan argued with the referee that Johnny had his foot on the bottom rope during the pin which was not true.
8) Special Referee – Angelo Poffo: William Muldoon defeated Bruiser Brody by DQ: The main event was full of tension as “The Solid Man” William Muldoon took on freelance star Bruiser Brody with Angelo Poffo assigned as the special referee. The last time Muldoon and Brody met in Kansas City, KS (Card #946) it was Poffo getting involved post-match and Muldoon saving him by wrapping the chain around Brody and giving him the Body Lift and Throw. Brody suffered injured ribs but has continued working through it including beating Poffo’s son, Randy Savage, in a high profile match at the Seibu Dome in Seibu, Japan (Card #950) for King’s Road United. Brody called this match a “conspiracy” claiming that the AWE promoters were attempting to handicap him and actually few could argue with that line of thinking. Lanny Poffo following the earlier threat jumped Brody in the aisle before the match but was quickly pulled off by LOW officials and taken to the back. Brody then stormed down to ringside barking “Huss!” and wildly swinging his chain as both Muldoon and the elder Poffo, wearing a referee shirt, waited in the ring.
When the action finally got underway it was Brody who dominated despite having to deal with his injured ribs. He hit the Jumping Knee Drop fairly quickly but Muldoon was able to kick out. Brody followed up hitting several key moves including the piledriver, big boot to the face and the twisting vertical suplex. He also took it to the floor several times roughing up Muldoon. Poffo looked on angrily as Brody appeared to have everything going his way. He hit the Jumping Knee Drop again for what looked to be a sure pin but somehow Muldoon kicked out just before the three count. That set off Brody who accused Poffo of making a slow count which was vehemently denied by him. The two then got into a shoving match before Brody decked Poffo with a big right hand. Muldoon recovered and tackled Brody as Poffo called for the bell. The official result was a disqualification win for Muldoon but Brody had to feel cheated out of what could have been. Brody bailed out of the ring and grabbed the mic as Poffo tore off his referee shirt daring him to return. Muldoon backed Poffo into a corner as Brody issued a challenge saying just like he beat up the “Macho Man” he will take care of both father and son at the same time. The end result was Brody issuing a challenge which was accepted and it will be Angelo & Lanny Poffo facing him in a Handicap Match on the next AWE card in Chicago, IL (Card #965).
