You know when I read the whole thing and reached the last match and I got that vibe (chills in a good way) from reading the Roos are going to WCX to face the Road Warriors for the LOW World Tag straps, your build hits the nail on the head. I want the Roos to win their 3rd reign and that's my pick to win that match and I'm also picking Freddie Blassie to win the whole PWiT over Mulligan. Another great read my friend...

Blackjack Mulligan vs Fred Blassie should make for a tremendous final to the PWI Invitational... Although I was hoping to see The Mountie make it all the way to the end of the tourney, there was definitely nothing disappointing about this show... The encounter between Gorgeous George and The Mountie would definitely rank as one of my favorite LOW matches of all-time... Both men pulled out all the underhanded tricks at their collective disposal (and that's saying something, for sure)... Add in the antics of their beautiful ringside counterparts... Off the rails, wild fun was the result... I'm going to be needing the DVD of this event because that will be one of those contests that I'll be watching for years to come... Also pleased that Jerry Lynn was able to teach his rival a few lessons in Credible's own signature match... Big time congrats going to 3G on becoming the new Shimmer Tag Team Champions... And the Kangaroos on going through nine other teams in that brutal Battle Royal... Of course, one must question... Can a match against the Road Warriors REALLY be considered a reward? Best of luck to Berry's boys from Down Under... They're gonna need it... So many awe inspiring moments already in this WrestleCade weekend... With so many more come... Thank you for sharing!

As much as I was hoping for Frank Gotch to take the tournament win this year, you cannot complain about Mulligan v. Blassie in the finals. The match should be insane. The Kangaroos get the win in the battle royal and you can add Road Warriors v. Fabulous Kangaroos to the already STACKED Wrestlecade!
Standing ovation for the build this year. The dice have helped but the booking and creativity have been off the charts.

Thanks for the comments Crimson, Pariah and Bookerbill (and for the standing ovation BB!). I had a lot of fun with that card and man the dice rolls can really take you on a wild ride as evidenced by that match between The Mountie and Gorgeous George. Having both Sherri Martel and Cherie Dupre at ringside made for quite a spectacle but in a good way. Pariah you will be getting an autographed copy of the DVD from this show, autographed by The Mountie of course The SHIMMER tag title win by GGG was a highlight moment for me especially with them scoring all three eliminations via submission which I did not expect and it was cool to see Jerry Lynn finally get some revenge against Justin Credible. It looked for a good while that Credible was going to win so credit Lynn for coming back. The PWI Cup finals between Blackjack Mulligan and Fred Blassie should be intense and the Fabulous Kangaroos earning the tag title shot against the Road Warriors also sets up another big match for WrestleCade X. I would have been happy with any of those teams winning but the Kangaroos getting the shot is going to be fun. For those who may have missed it the second night of the PWI Cup tournament appears at the bottom of page 318. I am currently rolling out the IWA card which will of course be followed by WrestleCade X. I hope to have both shows posted by the end of the upcoming weekend.

I'm so far behind on all my favourite feds! Gigging twice a week and busy at work, there's barely any time for Filsinger!
Looking forward to seeing the 'Roos DEFEAT the Road Warriors at Wrestlecade X. Was routing for Gorgeous George but in all honesty, I think he would be crushed by Blassie so Mulligan Vs Blassie will be a classic i'm sure.
Good stuff, I will be sure to catch up fully this week!

A whole load of great matches coming up! At the PWI Invitational I reckon Ox Baker will lose to Blassie, given his record in my fed. I pick the team of The Grappler and The Crippler to win that tag battle and face the Road Warriors! And then win the gold! Obviously I'm backing Armstrongs to beat Gilberts, that will come as a surprise to nobody. Credible vs Jerry Lynn in a Singapore Cane match will be a night I'm sure. And not forgetting the Kings Rd Utd six legends special battle, chock full of talent! My pick is Bockwinkel, Rogers & Hackenschmidt to win. So close with The Grappler and The Crippler!

Thanks for the comments Joebreakdown and yes indeed Kat Rana came extremely close to getting that tag team Battle Royal winner right. Even though they didn't win it The Grappler & Ray Stevens were very impressive throughout that match. Blackjack Mulligan vs. Fred Blassie really has me pumped up for what should be a fun final round match at WrestleCade X. Just a quick update as I only have one match left to roll on the IWA card and then it will be on to WrestleCade X. I will post the IWA show as soon as I can, maybe even by tonight if I can get the dice rolling in, and then the big Card #1000 will be posted by sometime this upcoming weekend.

IWA - Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers - Beaumont Civic Center - Beaumont, TX (Card #999)
1) Bobby Fish defeated PJ Black: The opening contest saw Bobby Fish, one-half of reDRagon along with Kyle O’Reilly, take on “The Darewolf” PJ Black, the high flying star from South Africa. The early part of the match was controlled by Black who stunned Fish with the jumping spin kick and kick to kneeling opponent for consecutive two counts. Fish struck back with the Flying Fish Hook, a jumping high knee, for a two count and then laid Black out with the super falcon arrow. Black battled back after that and the two had a nice exchange building to the finish. Fish bailed out of the ring after taking another jumping spin kick but took control on the floor. He dropped Black knee first across the guard rail and back inside executed the Fish Hook Deluxe Edition, a heel hook, to score a submission victory.
2) The All Night Express defeated Cheeseburger & Tadarius Thomas: The pairing of Cheeseburger & Tadarius “TD” Thomas had a tall order as they faced The All Night Express (Rhett Titus & Kenny King) who were accompanied by their manager Rock Riddle. It was the IWA debut for ANX after Riddle put the team back together in the waning days of the Southern Wrestling Alliance. The two were looking to make a good impression in their IWA debut and it would be safe to say that they did. They cut off half the ring preventing Cheeseburger from tagging out to Thomas and really worked him over. Titus hit the Muff Driver and King hit the Coronation on Cheeseburger but Thomas saved him from defeat. That prolonged the inevitable as ANX ultimately nailed Cheeseburger with One Night Stand, a power bomb and diving neckbreaker combo, with Titus covering him to score the pin.
3) Jay Lethal defeated Bryan Danielson: The “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson took on Jay Lethal, accompanied by his manager SoCal Val, in a match that could be a main event on most cards. Danielson hit early and often as he started out with a dive to the outside, netting a two count on a follow up cover, and the Tiger Suplex. Lethal was shaken up but a counter attack led to him applying the figure four leglock. Danielson nearly tapped out but was able to reverse it into the ropes for a break. Lethal then hit Hail to the King and quickly covered Danielson for a two count. The momentum turned again when on the outside Danielson used IWA photographer Dr. Mike Lano as a human shield shoving him into Lethal. Back inside Danielson caught Lethal with the Regalplex but SoCal Val jumped up on the ring apron providing a distraction. She then blasted Danielson with the SoCal Slap and Lethal quickly rolled him up for a big near fall. Lethal followed that up with Diving Dynamite, a top rope headbutt, and then caught a stunned Danielson with the Lethal Injection to score the pin. It was a huge win for Lethal who received a post-match kiss from Val who was very happy with the outcome.
4) Brian Cage & Lance Hoyt defeated Diamond Dallas Page & Mike Quackenbush: Grudge tag team action saw two former IWA Heavyweight champions team up as Diamond Dallas Page & “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush took on Pringle Dynasty members “The Machine” Brian Cage & “American Psycho” Lance Hoyt. DDP and Quackenbush were once hated rivals but with Quackenbush leaving manager Percy Pringle III it left a chance for the two to unite for a common cause in getting back at the Pringle Dynasty. This was a pretty intense match but it was what happened after it that will long be remembered. The finish of a wild battle saw Hoyt catch DDP with a Chokeslam to score a snake eyes pin. Pringle then waved to the back and out came his bodyguard Big Duke followed by none other than the “Big Rig” Brodie Lee! With Pringle shouting instructions they tossed Quackenbush out of the ring and then laid in a brutal four-on-one assault on DDP. It was culminated by Cage and Hoyt propping up DDP so Lee could blast him with the Big Boot. DDP crashed to the mat with a sickening thud as IWA officials and paramedics ran down to the ring. Quackenbush recovered and quickly ran to the side of DDP who had to be fitted for a neck brace. The Pringle Dynasty members, meanwhile, tore up the ringside area sending crowd members scurrying before storming to the back.
IWA Commissioner David Marquez met up with reporters shortly after the incident and announced that Page had been diagnosed with a neck injury and will be out of action indefinitely. Marquez was incensed over the actions of the Pringle Dynasty and announced that all of the members, including Pringle himself, were suspended and that they will not be able to participate in the upcoming King of Trios event. He added that the suspension also includes Lee who had been signed to a contract by Pringle after he acquired him through a deal with SoCal Val. Marquez was visibly upset over the turn of events and the Pringle Dynasty will have to miss King of Trios as a result so they have definitely paid a steep price for their actions.
5) Nigel McGuinness, Johnny Gargano, & Timothy Thatcher defeated The Colony: Trios action was up next as The Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant, & Green Ant) took on Nigel McGuinness, Johnny Gargano, & Timothy Thatcher. The action in this one was off the charts as both teams came extremely close to victory. The Colony dominated early getting the heat on McGuinness for an extended stretch and hit The Ant Hill on him for a big near fall. Gargano helped turn the tide for his team using the running double knees and Hurts Donut, a full nelson dropped into a reverse STO. The technically sound Thatcher tagged in and nearly put Fire Ant away via submission with the Fujiwara Armbar. The Ants began battling back and delivered Ants Go Marching, a simultaneous sit-out power bomb and neckbreaker combination, on McGuinness with Green Ant covering him for a big near fall. McGuinness gained a measure of revenge on Green Ant using the London Dungeon and Guvnor’s Crumpet on him. A hot finishing sequence saw Thatcher survive the Beach Break from Fire Ant and nail him with the Tower of McGuinness, a rope hung cutter, to score the pin. McGuinness grabbed the mic post-match and explained that both Gargano and Thatcher are worthy of teaming with the “Guvnor” and that this win over The Colony, one of the best trios teams of all time, had great meaning. He said that the win proved that McGuinness, Gargano and Thatcher – collectively known as Evolving Honor – are a serious threat and that they were formally announcing themselves as the first team to enter the King of Trios tournament.
6) Davey Richards defeated Eddie Edwards: The first ever meeting of the former American Wolves saw a fired up “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards taking on Davey Richards, the partner that turned on him and joined the House of Truth run by manager Truth Martini. Edwards thirst for revenge may have cost him early as both men went down from a double clothesline off the ropes and it was Richards recovering first. With Martini barking orders from ringside it was Richards beginning to dominate as he nailed Edwards with the Alarm Clock and kicked to death, among other signature moves. A multiple suplex assault led to a near fall before Edwards finally struck back nailing Richards with a missile dropkick. He followed up hitting the Die Hard, a cross-legged fisherman’s buster, on Richards for a big near fall. Edwards then took the match to the floor and really laid into Richards which almost resulted in a disqualification decision. Martini argued with the referee but backed off when Edwards approached him. As the battle raged on it was Richards busting Edwards wide open after sending him head first into the guard rail. Edwards turned up a bloody mess and was easy pray for Richards who locked on the Cloverleaf before transitioning into the Ankle Lock going for the submission. Edwards showed great fight as he refused to tap out and instead clawed his way to the ropes for a break. Richards showed no mercy, though, and quickly went back to the Ankle Lock dragging Edwards into center ring. Edwards again refused to tap out but the referee made the call and awarded the victory to Richards via submission. Richards and Martini basked in the victory post-match as a bloody Edwards had to be helped out of the ring by IWA officials.
7) Finisher Match: Adam Pearce defeated Rob Van Dam: The torrid rivalry between the “Whole F’N Show” Rob Van Dam and “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce saw the two meet in a Finisher Match, the Five Star Frog Splash vs. the Jumping Piledriver respectively. Pearce pounced on RVD at the bell quickly hitting a powerslam followed by the aforementioned Jumping Piledriver for a big near fall. RVD had his back to the wall before he even had a chance to kick it into gear. Pearce kept up his attack hitting the Last Ride Lariat and applying a figure four leglock. RVD finally got it going when Pearce missed with a deathjump (ch) and subsequently nailed him with Rolling Thunder. The crowd rallied behind RVD hoping to see him finish off Pearce but he was unable to properly set up for the Five Star Frog Splash. After some wild battles on the floor it was Pearce hitting a swinging neckbreaker followed up by a second Jumping Piledriver to score the pin. Pearce has thus far dominated the feud with RVD who will have to go back to the drawing board to try and earn a victory against his hated rival.
8) IWA J-Crown title: Chuck Taylor defeated Kyle O’Reilly to win the title: The IWA J-Crown title was on the line as reDRagon member Kyle O’Reilly defended the belt against the “Kentucky Gentleman” Chuck Taylor. O’Reilly has been very impressive as champion while Taylor put in a strong showing during the tournament to crown the inaugural champion held earlier this year. O’Reilly got off to a strong start delivering the triple butterfly suplex after engaging in a fist fight with Taylor. O’Reilly followed up with Axe and Smash and then trapped Taylor in the guillotine choke. Taylor mounted a comeback on the outside, narrowly avoiding a disqualification decision, and nailed O’Reilly with the turnbuckle power bomb. He then locked on the Cross Crab going for the submission but O’Reilly countered out of the hold. A fierce battle back on the outside saw Taylor win out and he then hit Sole Food on O’Reilly for a big near fall. O’Reilly mounted a comeback but Taylor cut that off and hit the Awful Waffle to score a snake eyes pin. Just like that Taylor captured the IWA J-Crown title ending the reign of O’Reilly after four successful title defenses. Taylor grabbed the title belt post-match and did a victory lap around the ring. He then rolled back in and offered to shake hands with O’Reilly but instead hit him in the head with the title belt! If that weren’t enough he then gave O’Reilly another Awful Waffle right on top of the title belt drawing jeers from the crowd. Bobby Fish then ran in as Taylor ran off but the damage had already been done. O’Reilly was later diagnosed with concussion symptoms and IWA Commissioner David Marquez said that he will miss at least the next few weeks while undergoing evaluation.
9) IWA tag team titles: Osirian Portal defeated Kings of Wrestling to win the titles: The Osirian Portal (Amasis & Ophidian), the inaugural IWA tag team champions, were looking to regain the gold as they challenged the Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli) for the belts. The Kings have been very impressive during their second reign as champions and they completely dominated the early part of the match getting the heat on Amasis. Castagnoli planted Amasis with the Ricola Bomb but Ophidian made the save. The Kings then hit Kings Reign Supreme Two on Amasis with Hero going for the pin but somehow he kicked out just as Castagnoli had cut off Ophidian from making the save. An angry Hero then went for the Loaded Rolling Elbow Smash but Amasis ducked out of the way and laid him out. The Portal then hit the Osirian Sacrament on Hero but he kicked out just before the three count. Ophidian followed up by torturing Hero with the Death Grip and when he used it for a submission chance it was Castagnoli running in to break it up. Castagnoli would turn things back around for the Kings and set up near falls on Ophidian with the Royal Bomb and the Royal Power and Glory. Both Amasis and Hero were busted open during this one which ended in wild fashion. The Portal wound up using the Snake Charmer on Hero with him falling victim to Hypnosis. Ophidian tackled Castagnoli off of the ring apron while Amasis went up top and nailed the prone Hero with the 450 Splash to score the pin. The crowd went crazy erupting in cheers as the Portal became two-time IWA tag team champions and the two celebrated with a Dance Off as the Kings looked on disgusted from ringside.
10) IWA Heavyweight title: Kevin Steen defeated Michael Elgin© by DQ: The main event was for all the marbles as the “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin put the IWA Heavyweight title on the line against “Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare” Kevin Steen. Both men are former ROH Heavyweight champions and the volatile Steen was looking to ruin the version one defense for Elgin and claim the title. Elgin knew he had to try and set the pace against Steen so he shocked him with an enzuigiri right out of the gate. That seemed to knock Steen off kilter for a good stretch as Elgin dominated the action. Steen finally found an opening and he took the match to the floor where he nailed Elgin with a vicious sleeperhold suplex. Elgin had trouble in beating the ten count back into the ring but he just made it and wound up countering an attack by Steen and hitting a Black Hole Slam. Steen then bailed out of the ring and baited Elgin out. He grabbed a chair and swung it but Elgin ducked out of the way and floored him with a lariat. Elgin then lost his cool grabbing the chair which he used to deliver a series of stiff shots to the upper back of Steen. The referee had no choice but to call for the bell and he disqualified Elgin awarding the victory to Steen but of course the championship could not change hands.
Steen went crazy grabbing several chairs and tossing them into the ring while Elgin argued with the referee on the floor. Steen then grabbed IWA Commissioner David Marquez and demanded a restart but Marquez said that the decision of the referee stood and Elgin retained the title. IWA officials had to come to the aid of Marquez before Steen could get physical. They wound up backing off Elgin as well who grabbed the IWA Heavyweight title belt and taunted Steen with it. That set him off again and Steen broke through the officials charging after Elgin. The two began trading blows and fought over the barrier with the IWA officials having to pursue them trying to protect the fans. The two were finally separated and escorted to different sections of the arena when Marquez grabbed the mic and said that something needed to be done and that he was going to sanction a title rematch between the two during King of Trios weekend and it will be held under Fight Without Honor rules.

IWA - Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers... It would seem this show was appropriately named, as the intensity of the WresteCade weekend reach a fever pitch in Beaumont, TX...
Is it even possible to pick a highlight for a show filled with unbridled brutality? I don't think so...
Right out of the gate, Fish and the Darewolf set the pace for the event... Unfortunate that the second member of reDRagon did not fare so well - First, losing the IWA J-Crown to the Kentucky Gentleman... And then getting put on the shelf due to a cowardly headshot from the title belt itself... Taylor may want to consider employing some protection because he is going to be a hunted man...
Pringle's Dynasty managed to score an impressive victory, but accomplished little else with their power play... Other than a stiff suspension that will keep them from competing at the prestigious King of Trios...
Match of the Night honors goes to the duo that once called themselves the American Wolves... Can always count on Richards and Edwards to deliver some heart-stopping action and this encounter was no different...
What is anyone going to say about that main event? AWESOME is the word... Elgin is still the champ and if there is anyone in the business that is truly Unbreakable, it is him... Steen pulled out all the stops and it just wasn't enough... Sure, he won the match, but not the title... Can he claim the gold in a Fight Without Honor? Or will Elgin just make Wrestling's Worst Nightmare regret tangling with him at all?
No words can do this show justice, my friend... As I've said before, IWA is probably my favorite of all your brands (and that IS saying something because all your stuff is top notch)... Right here is another reason why... Kudos, sir... Exceptionally well done!

Awesome show. Some personal highlights for me are SoCal Val providing the distraction turning the tide in favour of Lethal against the American Dragon. A rematch should be in order. Bummer that the Pringle Dynasty will not be involved in the King of Trios but actions have consequences. On the other hand, Evolving Honor looks like a strong entrant into the tournament. Richards v. Edwards delivered and I enjoyed the finish. Taylor with the huge title win was a surprise and his post match actions go unpunished by Marquez. Another shocker with the Portal capturing gold as well. Non finish in the main event is usually grown worthy but in this case I like the set up for the Fight Without Honor.
