Thanks for the comments Troy, Pariah and Crimson. The snake eyes have been injuring guys (and gals) left and right on my cards lately. I couldn't believe it when Condrey suffered the injury after winning the tag titles same as Hawk at WrestleCade 11. As for Jim Cornette if he can't find a sub for Condrey we may see him forced to break out the legendary red and black spandex outfit and team with Eaton to defend the titles The KRU Tag League has been fun so far and it continues on the upcoming card along with, yes, another major injury. Match Highlights:
A surprise debut, the revelation of a new First Family stable and an assault on a beloved veteran star were among the notable events taking place as PCW returned to Portland, OR, for a big event. The main event was scheduled to be a ten-man tag team match pitting Dutch Savage, “Bullet” Bob Armstrong, Brad Armstrong, Tugboat Taylor and Chaz Taylor against the Sherri Sports Agency, Inc. team of Playboy Buddy Rose, Dr. Tom Prichard, The Mountie and the Texas Hangmen. PWI Editor Bill Apter was on hand for a live Apter’s Corner earlier in the night with manager Jimmy Hart as his guest. Hart called out Bob Armstrong for running the Gilbert Family out of PCW and leaving him without any clients. Armstrong confronted Hart and called him a “poor manager” who should have followed the Gilbert’s out of PCW with his tail tucked between his legs. Hart shot back criticizing the parental skills of Armstrong by noting that his own son, B.G. James, doesn’t even use the family name because he is “ashamed” and that he has already left the territory to get away from him. Armstrong grew angry and moved in on Hart only to be jumped from behind by the Masked Superstar. Armstrong battled back but was then jumped by three other men – “The Magnificent” Don Muraco, The Warlord and the “Man Beast” Rhino – resulting in a vicious gang attack. The attack culminated with Rhino blasting Armstrong with the Gore!

With his father taken out of the arena in an ambulance, Brad Armstrong left for the hospital leaving his teammates at a five-on-three disadvantage for the main event. Sherri Martel demanded that her men get a forfeit victory but she got a rude awakening when rap music began blaring and PG-13 (J.C. Ice & Wolfie D) charged into the ring. The crowd went crazy as the referee called for the bell allowing PG-13 to substitute for the Armstrong’s. The former ASW stars, who have signed contracts with PCW, got into some heated exchanges with the Texas Hangmen reigniting their cross-brand rivalry from last year. The finish of a chaotic match saw Savage plant Rose with the Running Piledriver to score the pin. Savage received good news from Apter in the locker room afterward as it was revealed that LOW Commissioner Charlie Cox has nominated him to challenge The Sheik for the LOW International Heavyweight title on the next PCW card in Seattle, WA (Card #1115).

Roddy Piper got a controversial assist from his bodyguard Cowboy Bob Orton to defeat his rival Jimmy Snuka. “The Ace” knocked Snuka out with his controversial forearm cast leading to Piper using the Sleeper Hold for the win. Tony Atlas ran in afterward to prevent Piper and Orton from attacking the near unconscious Snuka. It was later learned that Snuka & Atlas will face Piper & Orton in a No DQ Match in Seattle, a rematch from their heated battle at WrestleCade 11…Blackjack Mulligan had a successful version ten defense of the LOW Tex-Arkana Television title against the “Golden Greek” John Tolos although in a losing effort. Tolos survived the Claw Hold at one point and then took it to the floor where Mulligan was disqualified for using a chair in the heat of battle…The KRU Real World Tag League bouts featured some great action with Antonio Inoki & Tiger Mask and The Sheepherders earning key wins. Johnny Saint & Zack Sabre Jr. gave Inoki and Tiger a tough battle. Sabre Jr. nearly scored a submission on Inoki with the Cross Armbreaker before being pinned. Jushin Liger & Wani likewise took it to The Sheepherders but the tag team experience of the New Zealand stars set up their win. The KRU Real World Tag League will resume on Episode 70 of ASW (Card #1111)…and, the “American Wolf” Davey Richards was among several new PCW stars appearing and he had a solid debut win over Johnny Rodz of ASW. Richards spoke with Apter and said that he has put his past affiliation with the House of Truth in the IWA behind him and that he hopes to rebuild his trust with the fans.

Injury Report:
* “Bullet” Bob Armstrong suffered injuries to his ribs and back after being assaulted by manager Jimmy Hart and his new First Family stable of wrestlers. He will be out of action for an indefinite period as a result of the attack.

Thanks for the comments Pariah. I had to do some thinking when it came to putting together a new First Family and it looks like Jimmy Hart has outdone himself with these signings as unfortunately Bob Armstrong found out. I'm thinking about teaming up The Warlord & Rhino for some matches, it would be interesting to see how they fare.

Yes, Playboy Buddy Rose dropped the ball for The Mountie and SSA, Inc. but it was a fun match. The injury angle, which came off of the Apter Card, forced me to pull "Bullet" Bob out of the main event and likewise Brad Armstrong so it was a perfect way to debut PG-13 as it turned out. The Snuka vs. Piper feud has been a lot of fun and I expect that No DQ tag match to be a wild one.

I will continue doing roster updates for each fed and after that I may start doing top ten rankings for each territory as well following each card. Next up will be the wild and wacky sports entertainment world of 80's Mania Wrestling. This one is subtitled "Them Dukes, Them Dukes!" so time to guess on the celebrity appearances. I hope to have that show posted soon.

Still, I have reason to believe cruefan68 's excellent management will pull things back on track. Hang in there, fellow Armstrongers, I feel sure the natural order will be restored soon enough.

Another solid show from the west coast. Enjoyed the heat between Snuka and Piper leading to the big tag encounter at the next outing. Looking forward to seeing the Sheik and Savage do battle

Thanks for the comments Kat Rana and Bookerbill. I love your take on the Armstrong injury situation, Kat Rana. I had a hard time dealing with one-half of The Chests going down but I hear both he and Brad have bookings elsewhere so that explains the angle to keep them out of PCW for a few weeks Bookerbill, I forget to mention that from Pariah's recap as well with Dutch Savage getting the shot against The Sheik. It will be his first time challenging for the title so it will be interesting to see if Savage can come away with the gold.

80's Mania Wrestling - Them Dukes, Them Dukes! - The Ballroom (Card #1106)

Talking Points:
* Poor Honest Al has been victimized of late by failed celebrity appearances but this time he managed to have the right connections as outside the arena the famed General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard rolled up. Emerging from the fused doors were stars Bo and Luke Duke (John Schneider & Tom Wopat) along with the lovely Daisy Duke (Catherine Bach). Honest Al got himself a view of the “daisy dukes” as they reached in to help Uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle) out of the car. Al attempted to interview the stars from the show when suddenly sirens blared and a cop car arrived followed by an all-white Cadillac. That could only mean one thing – Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best) and Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) – were on the case.

Boss ordered Rosco to give the Duke Boys a speeding ticket when suddenly a black stretch limousine pulled up and out stepped 8MW World Heavyweight Champion Jet Set Strutter and his manager Big Boss Jr. Strutter strutted over to Daisy attempting to flirt with her but the Duke Boys intervened. It almost got physical until everyone turned to watch Boss Hogg and Big Boss Jr. engaged in a stare down. The two men circled each other and just when it looked like it might go down they hugged as if two long lost relatives had found each other again. Rosco became excitable at the thought of having “two little fat buddies” and the trio walked off into the arena followed by Strutter holding his ten pounds of gold. Al said it was a “pretty ominous” thought that those two devious minds could be exchanging ideas.

* The robotic Rex Spectrum featured reigning 8MW World tag team champions Cobalt Commander & Skullgore as his guests on his television themed set. The two, who are known collectively as the Master Minds, bragged about their reign as champions and said that no one was worthy of challenging for the titles. Spectrum said that the rankings tell a different story and that they will have to defend the belts soon or possibly be stripped of them. Cobalt angrily responded that no one tells them what to do but he was interrupted by a satellite transmission from acting 8MW Commissioner Mr. Codger. Surrounding Codger at 8MW headquarters were Lazer & Buzzsaw, the Bladeblasters. Codger then ruled that the Bladeblasters are the number one contenders and that they will challenge the Master Minds for the titles at the Golden Plaza (Card #1126). The crowd cheered that announcement while the Master Minds angrily stormed off the set.

* Just prior to the main event Boss Hogg and Sheriff Rosco took to the stage surrounded by a backing band. The Dukes joined them on stage and Boss ordered Rosco to give them that speeding ticket. Rosco fumbled around writing one up but then the crowd erupted in cheers as legendary country music stars Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings took to the stage. Boss acted surprised by their appearance as Honest Al rushed over with a microphone. Cash responded that they were victims of Boss’ infamous speed trap and they were going to perform a few songs to get out of the ticket. Boss smiled and said if they wanted to do that it was ok by him and ordered Rosco to tear up the ticket but he tore up the Duke Boys ticket instead! Boss went crazy admonishing Rosco and yelling “Them Dukes, Them Dukes!” but settled down as the music kicked in. Cash electrified the crowd with a performance of Folsom Prison Blues and his take on the Soundgarden classic Rusty Cage. Jennings joined in and the two finished off the set with Good Ol’ Boys, the theme from the Dukes of Hazzard, as the Dukes, Rosco and Boss clapped along. Everyone was pleased, even Boss Hogg, especially after Cash handed him two bills to pay for the ticket anyway.

Vignette:
* Johnny Kobra, accompanied by Valley Girl, was in the Kobra Dojo aiming strikes and kicks at a training dummy. With each strike, his face grew angrier while Valley Girl pestered him to go out on the town. Kobra finally relented and bragged about his hometown as the cameras followed him around saying that he is the “real deal” and the most feared man in the county. He wound up getting a phone call and forced Valley Girl to answer it saying he has no time for the “little people”. She excitedly hung up the phone and informed him that acting 8MW Commissioner Mr. Codger has given him a shot at the 8MW World Heavyweight title. Kobra said that it was about time that his skills have been recognized and that instead of going out on the town he was returning to the Kobra Dojo to train. Valley Girl then mentioned that Star Boy was getting a shot too prompting Kobra to blow a gasket as he realized that meant that he would have to fight the Mexican star for a shot at the title. He called her an “airhead” and stormed off leaving her to her own thoughts.

Match Highlights:
A wild night of sports entertainment action concluded with Jet Set Strutter making a successful version five defense of the 8MW World Heavyweight title against the tough challenge of Ace Arcadium. Shouting out his trademark “Whooooo!” as he strutted in the ring, Strutter showed why he has been an effective champion with a precision style attack on the challenger. Arcadium has been on the cusp of winning the world title a few times and that was the same story here. Arcadium had the champion on the defensive but then a double distraction by Strutter’s manager Big Boss Jr. and special guest Boss Hogg ruined it for him. Strutter took advantage by clipping the knee of Arcadium and finishing him off with the Six-Figure Leg Lock. Strutter celebrated his win in style post-match until he was distracted by Star Boy who was hovering over the entrance area. Star Boy, coming off his earlier top contenders win over Johnny Kobra, zipped from side to side before shooting up to the roof of the building where an image of the 8MW World Heavyweight title appeared above him. Strutter kicked the ropes and yelled at Big Boss Jr. as the crowd cheered on Star Boy who will challenge for the title at the Golden Plaza.

A titanic tag team semi-final bout saw Dude Brohan & Mighty Leo overcome the intimidating pairing of Pierre the Enormous & Hammerhead. They really took the fight to Pierre who was busted open and had to be saved from defeat by Hammerhead after taking a Thunderstrike from Leo. Pierre would come back later blasting Brohan with a counter running lariat but the Dude executed Bro Up as he powered out of the pin. Moments later Dude dropped the Big Bro Leg Drop on Pierre to score the pin…The sensual Gothica guided her men, Keith Blood and Slashmaster, to strong victories over The Adventurers (Arizona Chance & Red Pirate Rogers) in singles action. Rogers put up a gutsy performance against Slashmaster but ultimately fell in defeat. Chance was busted open but showed great resiliency as he hit the Last Crusade on Blood only to have Gothica get involved. She used her “wares” to distract the referee saving Blood from defeat. Chance lost his cool after that and wound up being disqualified for attacking Blood outside the ring…The rivalry between the Neon Express and the Metalheads continued with a heated bout. The Express dominated most of the way until a counter by Dizzy Lixx led to a flash pin on Jesse Wild…and, Dark Invader posted a dominant win over Dangerzone and then lingered at ringside as Star Boy and Johnny Kobra came out for their top contender’s match. The Dark Invader has made no bones about the fact that he wants a shot at the 8MW World Heavyweight title and he was obviously angry over two other stars getting the opportunity to compete for a shot at the gold.

As always, 8MW delivers its unique brand of entertainment in absolutely wild fashion... Loved the appearance my Them Dukes and company... And being treated to the musical stylings of two Highwaymen, Jennings and Cash, was the icing on the cake...

Totally stoked that Gothica was able to lead get two charges to big wins... Slashmaster and Blood are putting the Adventurers on notice... Looking forward to an inevitable tag team confrontation...

Also happy that the Metalheads were able to put a notch in the win column... That being said, I've gotta feeling we're going to see new tag champions soon and once the Bladeblasters are wearing those belts, it's gonna be tough for any team to take them away...

Some fun 80's action and I liked the Metalheads winning their match, plus Dude over Pierre in that tag match is wild results. Loved the Dukes involved in the show, good stuff...
