Thanks for the comments AJ, Crimson and Pariah. Unfortunately Su Yung has never done well for me but I like her enough to keep her around. I really wish we could get an updated card for her. Team PAWG has been on a roll and although I like both Dobson and Rush I'm not too upset seeing Lufisto and Grace get that title shot. Dobson and Rush will likely face the winners at some point. That was a real wild night of SHIMMER action but up next is a real roller coaster ride from the IWA, I hope you enjoy the action...
IWA - Breaking The Chains - Wonderland Ballroom - Revere, MA (Card #1119)
* IWA Commissioner David Marquez opened the show prior to the IWA On The Mat television taping stating that “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush, the inaugural IWA Heavyweight champion, would be facing Kevin Steen for the title later on the show. He said that Quackenbush is recovering from his burns suffered during King of Trios and that due to his being forced off his team, which eventually won the event with AJ Styles substituting for him, he was giving him a golden opportunity. That didn’t sit too well with Jay Lethal and his manager SoCal Val who once again interrupted the commissioner. Lethal demanded to know why he wasn’t getting his rematch with Steen to which Marquez responded that his constant interruptions have made him unbearable to deal with. Val stepped in and went to slap Marquez but Lethal wisely grabbed her arm before the blow could land. Marquez then informed Lethal that he had a big match tonight and that it would be against the “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson drawing “YES!” chants from the crowd. Lethal kicked the ropes in anger and stormed out of the ring with Val while Marquez told the crowd to enjoy the show.

He called him a “jabroni” that doesn’t deserve a title shot and that if he had anything to do with it Quackenbush would be out of the IWA. Dallas questioned Gilbert on his status and Gilbert said that his services are “invaluable” and that he was just stopping by to “check things out” and party with Dallas after the show. Dallas said that if the IWA had any sense that “Hot Stuff would be hired and Quack would be fired” drawing laughs and a high five from Gilbert who then took a seat front row ringside.

12) Steel Cage Match: Jon Moxley defeated Randy “Macho Man” Savage
(Escaped the Cage) *
Match Highlights:
An evening full of highlights ended with a spectacular move that put one man out of action and left another man with an increasing target on his back. The raging feud between Randy “Macho Man” Savage and Jon Moxley was expected to be settled inside of a Steel Cage but the result made sure that wouldn’t happen. Tyler Black and Drew Galloway accompanied Moxley to the ring and remained at ringside putting Savage at a troubling disadvantage even with the steel cage between him and the other Shield members. Surprisingly the two didn’t interfere during much of the contest, a brutal battle that saw Savage busted open and bleeding badly. In the end, it was the distraction of Black climbing up one side of the cage that prevented Savage from escaping as he had Moxley down. Galloway then rolled an object into Moxley which he used to deck Savage before planting him with Moxicity, a spinning side slam. Moxley then made his way up and over the top of the cage to score a major victory.
As the Shield members celebrated at ringside, former IWA Heavyweight Champion Diamond Dallas Page ran in through the crowd taking Galloway out with a Diamond Cutter. Black and Moxley then jumped DDP and put the boots to him before a bloody Savage crawled out through the cage door and made the save. He ran Moxley into the cage wall before tossing him back inside through the door. DDP, meanwhile, took out Black with the Diamond Cutter to a big pop from the crowd. Savage made his way back in and decked Moxley with the same weapon, a pair of brass knuckles, laying him out. He then spun around and slowly made his way up to the top of the cage with the crowd urging him on. Moments later a sea of flashes went off as Savage dove off the top of the cage nailing Moxley with the Flying Elbow Smash drawing a building shattering pop from the crowd. DDP then assisted Savage out of the cage as paramedics rushed in to attend to Moxley. It was later learned that he suffered rib and chest injuries that will keep him out of action. Black and Galloway were livid over the turn of events and demanded a match with Savage and DDP. Those two teams are now scheduled to meet in a Texas Tornado Match when the IWA returns to Chicago Ridge, IL (Card #1129).
LOW Junior Heavyweight Champion Tiger Mask made history as he defeated the “Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay to capture the IWA J-Crown title. It has been a banner year thus far for the Kings Road United star who earned the J-Crown title shot by winning Rey De Voladores at King of Trios. The match with Ospreay saw both men display their incredible aerial skills in a fast-paced bout. The finishing sequence saw Tiger Mask counter a backdrop attempt by flipping over Ospreay and locking him in position for the Tiger Suplex which resulted in the pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as Tiger Mask was crowned a dual title holder, a rarity in the history of LOW. That also means that his schedule will only get tougher as he defends both belts in the coming weeks. In addition, he is also teaming with Antonio Inoki in the ongoing Real World Tag League tournament which will only put added pressure on him to remain a dual champion. Ospreay was upset with the loss of his title and vowed to get a return match soon.
A man not even under contract to the IWA, “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert, made his presence known much to the chagrin of “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush. After burning Quackenbush with a fireball at King of Trios, forcing Quackenbush to miss out on going to the finals with his teammates Eddie Edwards and Trent Barreta, Gilbert made a surprise appearance during IWA On The Mat as a special guest of color commentator Larry Dallas. He insulted Quackenbush during the broadcast and took a front row seat, remaining there as Quackenbush would later go on to challenge Kevin Steen for the IWA Heavyweight title. The presence of Gilbert clearly bothered Quackenbush who seemed off his game. Gilbert would consult with Steen a few times during the bout drawing the ire of Quackenbush. He also distracted him during a battle outside allowing Steen to deliver the devastating Power Bomb on the ring apron. That led to Steen winning by count out to retain the title in his version one defense drawing jeers from the crowd. IWA photographer Dr. Mike Lano attempted to speak with Gilbert afterward but the free agent star smirked and said he had “no comment”. Quackenbush later went to IWA Commissioner David Marquez demanding a match with Gilbert but was told that it couldn’t be made as he is not signed to a contract with the IWA.
In other action, Mark & Jay Briscoe retained the IWA tag team titles in their version five defense with a technical win over Paul London & Brian Kendrick. It was a sensational battle for the championship that included Kendrick making a last second save when Jay had London pinned after the Doomsday Device. London eventually lost his cool out on the floor getting his team disqualified as he hit Mark with multiple chair shots to the upper back…Blackjack Mulligan retained the LOW Tex-Arkana Television title in his version twelve defense beating Trent Barreta in the main event of IWA On The Mat. Barreta put forth a heroic effort but Mulligan managed to lock on his Claw Hold for the victory. Mulligan held up the arm of Barreta post-match in a show of class. Not so classy was James “Main Event” Morgan who grabbed the mic from the announce table demanding to know why he wasn’t challenging for the title in the main event. He also ran down Barreta as a challenger before Mulligan cut him off and said that Barreta has guts and if Morgan has any he could come to LOW All-Star Wrestling (Card #1121) in a few days and take him on for the title. That seemed to shut up Morgan who said he will take him up on that…Bryan Danielson and former IWA Heavyweight champion Jay Lethal put on a show stealing match battling to a time limit draw. SoCal Val made her presence known saving Lethal from tapping out to the Crossface Chickenwing. With only a short time remaining, Lethal locked on the Koji Clutch but Danielson hung on refusing to tap out resulting in the draw decision…IWA newcomers Dasher Hatfield and Reckless Youth both looked good on opposite sides of an atomicos match won by Youth and his teammates Adam Pearce, Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy…and, IWA On The Mat had a hot tag team opener as #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) won be disqualification over Eric Watts & Jaka. Gargano had Jaka trapped in the Gargano Escape when manager Ty Matthews interfered. Both teams continued fighting post-match until IWA officials could separate them.
