Today I found out that PWG's DDT4 (PWG's annual tag team tournament) is taking place on May 9th and this morning me and Cman just got 2 front row seats for it!
These are the competitors for this year's tournament:
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)
The Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark Briscoe)
"The Professional" Scott Lost & Chuck Taylor
The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin Cutler)
KAMIKAZE (Akira Tozawa & YAMATO)
Johnny Goodtime & Jerome "LTP" Robinson
Roderick Strong & Ryan Taylor
¡Peligro Abejas! (El Generico & "Intrepid Traveler" Paul London)
The Young Bucks have to defend their nearly two year reign as PWG World Heavyweight Tag Team Champions throughout the tournament. Can they win the tournament to keep their titles?

I had been looking on the PWG site all week to see when DDT4 was going to be announced then Mr. Vegas called me this morning to tell me it was May 9th and was getting the tickets. It will be an interesting tourny and I really have no idea who will win or who or if the bucks will lose the titles too. I will be getting pictures this time though since I just got a new phone that takes better pictures than my old one did.

It was announced yesterday that one of the non tournament matches taking place at this year's DDT4 will be LOTF's Chris Hero vs Brandon Bonham.
Although I fully expect Hero to win, this should be a good match.

They've now announced the First Round matches, but the rest of the brackets will reportedly NOT be announced in advance:
April 23, 2010 - In just over two weeks, eight tag teams will meet at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's DDT4 with the winners claiming (or retaining) the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship! Wait, two weeks? We should really get around to announcing the first round then. But since simply announcing the tournament brackets would be too easy, we've decided to mix things up this year: the tournament brackets will remain a mystery until the second round of the tournament is ready to actually take place!
With no tournament brackets announced in advance, this means that the tournament competitors will have an extremely difficult time preparing for their matches beyond the First Round. On the surface, this wrinkle may seem to favor the more experienced duos in the tournament, since their teamwork is a major factor in their success. However, that is not always the case, since the impromptu team of "American Dragon" Bryan "Daniel Bryan" Danielson and Roderick "Strong Rod" Strong made it all the way to the DDT4 Finals in 2009, thanks in large part to their individual abilities, but also their opponents' inability to prepare. Will the brackets going unannounced level the playing field at DDT4? The best way to find out is by being at American Legion Post #308 in person on Sunday, May 9! Get your tickets now!
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's DDT4 will feature:
DDT4 First Round Match/Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship Title Match The Young Bucks/Generation Me (Matt & Nick Jackson/Max & Jeremy Buck) vs. Johnny Goodtime & Jerome "LTP" Robinson
DDT4 First Round Match The Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark Briscoe) vs. KAMIKAZE (Akira Tozawa & YAMATO)
DDT4 First Round Match "The Professional" Scott Lost & Chuck Taylor vs. ¡Peligro Abejas! (El Generico & "Intrepid Traveler" Paul London)
DDT4 First Round Match The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin Cutler) vs. Roderick Strong & Ryan Taylor
Plus, the Semi-Final and Final Round tournament matches, and in non-tournament action, Brandon Bonham faces off with former Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion Chris Hero for the first time ever in singles competition!

I just got done packing my bag and I'm about to drive to California to attend tomorrow afternoon's DDT4 at PWG! Although the brcakets after the First Round haven't been announced yet, these are my final picks for the entire tournament: First RoundYoung Bucks defeat Johnny Goodtime and LTP. Briscos defeat Akiro Tozawa and Yamato The Cutlers defeat Roderick Strong and Ryan Taylor El Generico and Paul London defeat Scott Lost and Chuck Taylor Second Round/Semi-Finals Young Bucks defeat Briscos in a rematch from the main event from PWG's previous show Titanica. The Cutlers defeat El Generico and Paul London Tournament FinalsYoung Bucks defeat The Cutlers (Young Bucks continue their nearly 2 year long reign as the PWG World Tag Team Champions and The Cutlers receive a major push in the tournament the same way Brandon Gatson got a major push last year at PWG's 2009 Battle of Los Angeles). So those are my picks for tomorrow.

I am home from DDT4 and just a bit bruised, but more on that later. This show is so far my number two favorite just behind Threemendous II last year which was my first PWG show.
First Round Young Buck beat LTP/Johnny Goodtime. It was a good match, both teams got their usual offense and moves in but the Bucks pulled out the win, as only they can.
The Cutlers beat Roderick Strong/Ryan Taylor. Both teams were very over in this match, but The Cutlers got most of the face heat. Strong chopped the crap out of I believe Dustin Cutler and he had major welts on his chest, it was brutal. The Cutlers won after their tandom spike Tombstone on Taylor.
Briscoes beat Tozawa/Yamato. Two funny moments during this match, the first one briscoe tried a sunset flip on Tozawa and he wouldnt go down so the briscoe pulled down Tozawas tights exposing his butt. Tozawa just kept going and even hit said briscoe with a bare butt bump, too funny. The second funny moment was as I was watching the match I leaned back in my chair and the stupid thing broke and collasped, and I hit the ground. It didnt get on camera thank god but the guys behind me were laughing really hard and even I had to laugh. I got a new chair and was able to finish watching the match and show without further incident.
El Generico/Paul London beat Scott Lost/Chuck Taylor. Your basick comedy match between these four. London came out with a small mega phone which was used a couple of times in fun spots. El Generico hit the brainbustah on Scott Lost to pick up the win for his team.
Semi Finals Young Bucks beat The Cutlers. Everybody was expecting the titles to change here which would have been a nice surprise but it was not to be. Both teams pulled out the stops and it was very back and forth but a More Bang for your Buck later and the Bucks were in the finals.
El Generico/Paul London beat The Briscoes. This was a surprise to alot of people. It was pretty even for awhile but when The Briscoes went for the Doomsday Device on London he Victory Rolled a Briscoe and got the three. The Briscoes were not happy at all about losing as we all chanted please come back they stomped off to the dressing room.
Chris Hero beat Brandon Bonham. This was brutal. Both guys chopped the crap out of each other and just generally beat the crap out of each other. Hero ripped off his elbow pad and hit Bonham with an elbow then one of his finishers for the win. He got the mic after the match and said that he was number one contender for the PWG Title and was coming for his title shot and Davey Richards.
DDT4 Finals El Generico/Paul London beat The Young Bucks.
Holy Crap what a match! Nobody had any idea how this match was going to go but wow! They beat the crap out of each other and twice we thought the match was over after finishers were hit, but finally after intense back and forth action El Generico hits I believe Matt Jackson with the Super Brainbustaahhhhh and El Generico and Paul London are the new PWG Tag Team Champions!
Another fantastic show by PWG and I cant wait to go in June! I have a few pictures posted on Facebook for anybody that knows me and are my friends.

I just got home from PWG's DDT4.
Awesome show! I was sort of hoping the Young Bucks would retain but it's also cool to see El Generico and Paul London as the new PWG World Tag Team Champions!
I'll probably post about this show tomorrow, but right now I'm going to get some sleep because I have to go to a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning.
