Since the release of Promoter Online #7 and the announcement in it that POW Prophesy 2124 will be released at Galacticon 2010, I have been surprised that no one has opened a thread to talk about it, so I decided to start one myself.
I am looking forward to the release. I'm not a fan of MMA, so I hope POW doesn't go completely MMA, but if it does I'll deal with it. I am looking forward to resolution of the Thayne family storyline and all the other current faction details.
I am looking forward to hearing when we can reorder this product and when it will actually be shipped and whether, like the last few POW releases it will be a pdf file release.

I'm not a fan of MMA, so I hope POW doesn't go completely MMA. I very much agree. I do not use the MMA cards. If POW gave up its wrestling side, I would be very unhappy.

Well as Mark has hinted....the main problem that POW has for going to MMA is that half the guys are definitely more wrestlers than MMA guys. We'll see where he goes with it.

I'm the completely other side of the fence with the MMA stuff. I'm starved for it. I want POW to go full time MMA and drop the wrestling part so bad that I've been bugging Mark about it for years (sorry bro!).
I think it's by far the best next direction (and most logical) for the game. The MMA system they've come up with works. It works really well. How couldn't it? It basically plays just like the wrestling matches.
And as far as the opinion that POW has more wrestlers than MMA guys, great. it's best to start smaller imo. That's how the GWF started, it's how CPC and the GWFZ and aCe started...it can work for POW MMA. And even so, a great writer can write him or herself into or out of anything. I don't think for a second Mark has handcuffed himself at all.
The CPC/POW has a lot of stuff that needs to be tied up and I hope to see that. But once it is, I'm hoping for a major face lift. I want to see a ton of new MMA characters.

I'm with Swarm on this one. I too would love to infuse my MMA with some more guys. I had to stop and wait for more talent, since everyone has fought each other multiple times, I want to maintain the realism. I did like that two guys and a gal were released with the latest GWFZ that did get me one more fight card. I think I would like to see even more of a divide between the wrestlers and MMA characters. I usually went one way or the other regarding the fighters. It didn't make sense in my head if I had a wrestler in a wrestling match fight the next month in a MMA style match. I wouldn't buy into the wrestling match if I was an observer, I would much rather see the two guys beat the hell out of each other go for a submission or KO than try for a pin. I had a hard time seperating the realism of both in my mind. GWF is always been this is happening, a piledriver actually is a dude dropping you on your head, he really wants to hurt you to win. In POW it became harder for me to sell my make-believe audience on the fact that the wrestling was just as brutal but just with a three count for the win. Just me. In the story, I would really like to find out the end of the story with Dr. Barnabus, Puma, Rubicon (bitchen name) and the rest.
Anyway I love the POW. I can't wait to see what is next.

The MMA is what separates it from the other feds. The option is nice having both but I would not be against going strictly MMA.

I'm not against it going MMA, but I think you'll have to lose some of the storylines....or at least cut back on some of them. (Mad Jester for instance sticks out like a sore thumb in MMA. I'd prefer if we go MMA, we go more straight forward and less theatrical)

While I like the MMA aspect of the fed, for it to go totally MMA would be let down in my opinion. I like to have the options myself!
