Not to sounds like a teacher, but I can abide incorrect statistics  If you CAN abide them then why did you apply corrections? I'm interested in the 36 possibilities...Here are the 21 possibilities I came up with. What combinations did I miss? 1:1 1:2 1:3 1:4 1:5 1:6 2:2 2:3 2:4 2:5 2:6 3:3 3:4 3:5 3:6 4:4 4:5 4:6 5:5 5:6 6:6 I think that I did miss the fact that there are 2 chances that either die may land on one of these numbers. However, I'm not sure that matters when you are rolling both dice at the same time. |

What combinations did I miss? 2:1 3:1 3:2 4:1 4:2 4:3 5:1 5:2 5:3 5:4 6:1 6:2 6:3 6:4 6:5 It most definitely does matter. Each die is a seperate die even if you're rolling them at the same time. For example, die #1 could have a 5 and die #2 have a 6 for 11. Or die #1 could be 6 while die #2 is 5. This gives you two possible rolls that could give you 11. There is only a 1 in 36 chance of getting a 12 as both dice would have to come up six. This comes out to 2.77777% chance of rolling a 12. Adding two combinations that yield an 11 that means a 3 in 36 chance of rolling an 11 or 12 which is 8.33333%. |
