I'm definitely not the Chikara expert. Each year is a new season. On the website looks like they make a comic book cover for each show, figuring each event is looked at as one issue. Something like that. Am I close?

Yes, this is their 10th season, as the first season started in 2002. Generally they do 2 shows in one weekend once a month. But there are some exceptions of them doing 3 shows in a weekend sometimes, mostly for big tournaments where all events are in the same place (ie King of Trios). Season opener is generally a 1 show weekend and is many times the Sunday after ROH or Dragongate USA shows in Philly.
Show themes have differed over the years, with this season being heavily influenced by 80s cartoons. The DVD covers are many times parodies of Comic Book covers, with other pop culture pieces sometimes thrown in (ie Grand Theft Auto video game cover).

Does each season have it's own storylines that begin and end within that timeframe? Or are there cliffhangers, etc. between seasons?

Does each season have it's own storylines that begin and end within that timeframe? Or are there cliffhangers, etc. between seasons? There are some season long stories, certain things that tie seasons together and there is usually a big cliff hanger at the season finale. The BDK storyline officially started at the 2009 season finale, but seeds were planted and parts of the story go back several seasons which led to that. For more info, read this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruderschaft_des_KreuzesOne other thing is that Chikara loves to blur the lines between reality and kayfabe. In 2009 the website was pirated by the until that point unknown BDK. This year a press release was sent announcing that Chikara has been bought. It will be interesting to see how that influences the 2011 stories.

I am going to be at the March 12 show in Williamsport with a friend, the week after WSU. My first Chikara show, see if I end up liking it as much as other people. Only a couple hours away which is much better than driving to New Jersey.
One match announced on the website so far is Madison Eagles vs. Toshie Uematsu, making her U.S. debut. I actually saw Uematsu on a Kaientai Dojo card my second trip to Tokyo, got to meet her and get an autograph in the program.

Willie Richardson vs. Tursas added to the March 12 card. No idea who either of those guys are.

Not sure about Richardson but Tursas is the big/masked/horned BDK member.
