Well, I will add my two cents. I liked Randy as much as anyone on here. I had hoped this was a bad mistake or a bad joke. That voice and his flying off the top turnbuckle will always be in our memories. He was awesome. As far as not waiting before asking for a card, there is nothing disrespectful about that. As far as this being about Filsinger games and products. If memory serves me at one of the last galacticons there was a rumored phone message that was played for awhile, so how do we know a deal wasn't struck, but even if not, this is akin to losing Rocky Marciano, or Thurman Munson. Randy Savage was more than a wrestler and an Icon. He achieved LEGENDARY STATUS. Whether part of the game or not, most of the wrestlers we do have either have been in the ring or inspired by him, thus making him relevent.

I was really shocked when i heard the news. I always liked Randy Savage in the 80's. I always felt that he was never really given a chance to really shine as a champion. R.I.P Randy Savage, you'll be missed dearly.

One thing I've learned from watching wrestling since I was in my mid-teens is that I now gauge a wrestler's impact on one of 2 things: how much I really, really wanted him to win that big match OR how much I really, really HATED him as a "bad guy". Well, comrades, in the mid to late 80's, I might not have hated anyone as much as Randy Savage! And it pretty much stayed that way for awhile, until Shawn Michaels came along, that is! As I grew older, I realized that my "hatred" had somehow turned into "respect" for these performers and that if they could get me to dislike them so much, then they must be really, really good at what they do! We have lost a true legend and icon in our beloved "sport". And dare I say, perhaps only losing the Hulkster could have a bigger impact on a recognition level. Savage is one of the few wrestlers who transcended the sport, one of the few performers that even the average Joe, who never tuned in on a Saturday morning or Monday evening, knew who he was and what he did for a living.
Rest in peace Randy from Florida...

I am truly sad today, Macho Man was one of a kind and a hell of a wrestler. When we lose these guys so young, I feel my youth slip further and further away. RIP Mr.Poffo

I don't know about a Legends card for "Macho Man" Randy Savage right now, but I won't be surprised if Savage is inducted into the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame next year, especially when it's held in Miami, FL next year.

Too little too late. He should've been in the HOF years ago. It was nice to see WWE give the tribute tonight on Raw, and then C.M. Punk dressing in the classic Savage pink trunks was priceless. March 27, 1988 will always be one of my favorite days. Savage wins the WWF Title and Sting takes Flair to a 45-minute draw at the first Clash of Champions. Savage and Sting were my two favorites at that time. R.I.P.

I prefer one year later when Savage slaps Hogan in the face, then smashes the title into his head.
THAT'S when I became a wrestling fan!

I don't know if links are allowed, but deadspin has a pretty amazing article on Savage up right now: deadspin.com/5804679/This was just too sad.

While that was a beautiful moment, it was bittersweet because you knew Hogan was going to win at WM. A few years ago I created Savage on HCTP and took him all the way through a season. Good times.

Back then, I actually thought Savage was going to beat Hogan. Heck, in my mind, Savage was the face and Hogan was the heel! Then again, Hogan was pretty much always a heel to me.
