Hey guys,
Wanted to check in and deliver some exciting news. As those who play Online might have already heard, Cliff (squire) stepped down as tech guy recently. I'm sure you've also noticed that the bugs and breaks have accumulated and there's been no one on staff (myself included) who's been available to address the issues. Truth be told, I was also very close to stepping down from my Online position around the time when Cliff left. With Tom busy working on plenty of other projects, and no real staff on board anymore, Online as a whole has been pretty neglected the last year or so.
Well...that's no longer the case. Just recently, an old friend stepped back into the fray and after a few meetings with Tom, a new deal is in place. So, what I'd like to officially announce is that I'll be back working full time on COTG/LEGENDSonline and (more importantly!) right there with me will be fellow founding father, the uber-talented Larry "BDS" Swank! Larry brings with him a wealth of knowledge about the Online system and the technical ability to really right the ship.
In regards to the future of the Online product, what I can say at this point is the following:
-Expect major upgrades and improvements. We're not sure yet if we'll gradually roll out new stuff, or work behind the scenes for a bit and unveil some sort of "Version 2.0" that features all the upgrades.
-Expect a MONTHLY release schedule that will include new releases, re-releases, and the long awaited debut of unreleased Legends cards (in PDF form). We plan on announcing releases and prices well ahead of time as customers seem to prefer knowing what's on the horizon.
-Expect costs to remain consistent. With Tom's recent decision to bump GWF 2125 & GWF 2126 up to $19, I verified with him that all rereleases (and anything currently in the Online catalog) will remain where they are price-wise. New GWF sets (every July) will remain at $19 - but by next summer, we plan on having plenty of upgrades and features Online that will help justify the bump in price.
Speaking on behalf of Larry, we're super excited to be working together again on a project that we both had a real passion for a few years back. We hope to relight that fire and really deliver a worthwhile product to promoters old and new.
Thanks for everyone's support over the years and we hope you're on board for what's in store. To sum it all up...weee're baaack! And we hope you join us!
