GWF Classics #3: The Galaxian Tag Team Championship 11.18.2074 from Deimos, Mars
The Guardians vs. The Mensans Morpheus defeated Cordsar with a TRIP TO HADES at 17:31 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: This first match is a tag team contest with one fall and a 20 minute time limit!
Introducing first from Mensa and weighing in at 480 pounds, the team of Trotarus and Cordsar, the Mensans!
And their opponents at combined weight of 532 pounds, Morpheus of Aldebaran, Omega of Cetus, the Guardians.
Morpheus and Trotarus began the bout. The Mensan was surprisingly dominant and really took it to Morpheus! He was deliberate, yet powerful. The action even spilled outside for a while.
Trotarus used his finishing hold, but Morpheus not only escaped, he made a comeback! He peppered Trotarus with shots and then hit a big clothesline.
He went on to make the tag to Omega and the Cetus native came in on fire and got a near-fall! The Mensan would end up making a quick tag to cut off too much of Omega's offense.
Omega and Cordsar traded blows, but Omega came out on top and punished Cordsar big time! He scored a couple of near falls and wore Cordsar down with signature moves, including a flying chop from the top rope!
Omega looked like he had him, but Trotarus made the save, barely. Omega and Cordsar battle back and forth and after a Cetus Suplex, Omega made the tag to Morpheus. Morpheus lifted Cordsar up in an elevated belly-to-belly position and Omega came off the ropes with a huge tomahawk chop! Cordsar was in BIG trouble!
TRIP TO HADES! Trotarus is stopped! 1,2,3! The Guardians advance to the semi-finals!
Dorado Sundown vs. Torin Caelum & Ricken Prince Bullwhip defeated Ricken Prince with a RUSTLER'S STAMPEDE at 7:42 Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: This next contest is a tag team bout scheduled for one fall with a 20 minute time limit!
Introducing first, from Parts Unknown at 6'6”, 284 pounds, Ricken Prince! And his partner, he is the current and first GWF Galaxian Heavyweight Champion! The Sagitta Strangler, Torin Caelum!
Their opponents from Dorado at a combined weight of 532 pounds, Blacklash and Bullwhip, Dorado Sundown!
Bullwhip will make the start with Ricken Prince. Caelum and Prince are odd pairing, to be sure, but they have on thing in sights, the tag team titles. Can Caelum make a run and become a double champ right out of the gate?
Bullwhip came storming out and hit a Tombstone! A near fall followed, but Prince came back on the outside and got a near fall of his own with a running knee drop!
Bullwhip would go on to make a desperation tag to Blacklash and he unloaded on Prince! After wearing him down he made a tag and the hit RUSTLER'S STAMPEDE! Bullwhip mad the cover, Blacklash held of Caelum and they scored the win to advance!
Commander Sam & K.O. Keller vs. Defiance K.O. Keller defeated Blood with a DQ at 18:58 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: This next contest is a one fall match with a 20 minute time limit.
Coming to the ring at this time he is from the USA, Earth! Standing 6'3” tall weighing in at 260 pounds, Commander Sam! And his tag team partner, hailing from Parts Unknown at 5'11”, 228 pounds, K.O. Keller!
Their opponents, hailing from Albiero with a combined weight of 493 pounds, the team of Blood and Jammer, Defiance!
Jammer starts things of with Keller and we get underway in this opening round bout.
Jammer quickly tags Blood in on defense to try and upset Keller's early rhythm, but it doesn't do much good and Keller peppers Blood with shots and generally controls the match.
He tags in Sam and they go for double-team tackle, that backfires and sends them into one another!
Blood hits a swinging neckbreaker and mounts comeback. Sam is able to cut it short, though and regain control.
Still, Blood makes a desperation tag after a spinebuster and Jammer comes in. Sam, though, worked a slower pace and some wear-down holds under Keller's watchful eye. He was able to control the bout for a while that way.
Jammer, though hits an explosive DDT out of no where followed by BAD NIGHT!!!! Sam is in the ropes! BAD NIGHT again!!!! Sam can't make the ropes, but Keller is in and breaks the count! He's able to get a few shots in on Jammer, too!
Jammer doesn't let it get to him, though and tags in Blood! They hit a sick knee dropkick/clotheslinne combo and Sam is out!
Blood destroys Sam, but doesn't go for a pin, the kid just keeps getting up!!! Sam finally reverses and tags in Keller! Keller hits a jaw-jacking lariat and then another, but this time from the top turnbuckle!!! THE TEN COUNT! NO! Jammer's in, but Sam stops him! 1,2... NO! Blood kicked out! Blood kicked out!
Keller throws him out of the ring! We're almost out of time! Blood comes back, whips into the ring-post! The ref warns him, but he smashes Keller, head-first into the post! The ref calls for the bell! We were moments away from a time-limit draw, but it ends like this!
Defiance is hot! Keller is shaken and Sam is a battered young man! Can these two face up to the Guardians later?
Paladin Power vs. The Crosscurrents Moonstrike defeated Vortex with a superkick at 6:48 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: This next match is a one fall bout with a 20 minute time limit!
Coming to the ring from Thalassis, at a combined weight of 446 pounds, Thetis and Vortex, The CrossCurrents!
And their opponents, from Titan, Saturn, with a combined weight of 472 pounds Moonstrike and Solar Flare, Paladin Power!
Paladin Power get a great reaction. Both men performed well in their respective GWF Title brackets, now it's time to see how they are together for the tag team gold.
Moonstrike and Vortex start the match. Moonstrike controlled it for the most part and some tag work by the Titans got a pop. Flare would go for his finisher early, but Vortex moved and took over.
Flare would make a comeback and score a near fall, but it wasn't enough yet.
A double-team neckbreaker was followed up by a moonsault from Moonstrike!
Vortex was up... Superkick! 1,2, -Flare stopes Thetis- 3! Paladin Power moves on!
- Semi-Final - The Guardians vs. Commander Sam & K.O. Keller Morpheus defeated K.O. Keller with a TRIP TO HADES at 20:23 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: This is a semi-final match in the GWF Tag Team Championship Tournament! It is a one-fall bout with a 30 minute time limit!
K.O. Keller and Commander Sam, looking worse for wear, enter the ring followed by The Guardians who look relatively fresh.
Omega and Keller start this one off. It was Keller who defeated Omega in the tournament, denying the fan-favorite to advance to the title match!
Keller punished him immediately! Hitting some big moves right away and you could tell the strategy for Keller and Sam was get this over quickly, they couldn't take another match like the last and hope to make much of a dent in the finals.
Omega made a comeback, though and tagged in Morpheus! Morpheus controlled it, but Keller came back big!
Two heart punches led to THE TEN COUNT! Omega comes to break up the pin and here comes Sam! The ref is distracted and as he's leading Sam out, Omega blocks a shot from Keller and drops him with a tomahawk chop! He exits and Morpheus makes the cover! 1,2... NO! Keller is still in it...
Keller come back and the pace slows a bit. He's wearing Morpheus down, but Morpheus comes back big! Keller makes a desperation tag out of a cobra grip and Sam is in!
They go back and forth but Morpheus comes out on top. Tag to Omega. A double-team clothesline goes awry and Omega is down!
Omega is able to tag Morpheus back in and he decimates the youngster! TRIP TO HADES! 1,2... NO! Sam kicked out!
A splash from the top gets another two and Sam needs a tag... And he gets it! Keller is back in!
He hits a heart punch and Morpheus rolls out.
Morpheus is able to battle back and tags Omega in.
The battle back and forth in some great action! Eventually Omega hits a TOMAHAWK THRUST, but Keller won't stay down!
Morpheus comes in and destroys Keller! He just tears him apart and after a pair of TRIPs TO HADES, a Satanic Skull Smasher and a third TRIP TO HADES, well, the ref could've counted to 10!
The Guardians advance to the finals!
- Semi-Final - Dorado Sundown vs. Paladin Power Solar Flare defeated Bullwhip with a fallaway slam at 15:54 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: This is a tag team contest for one fall with a 30 minute time limit!
Paladin Power is looking good after their match earlier as are their opponents, Dorado Sundown!
Blacklash and Moonstrike start this one off. It's back and forth for a while before Moonstrike takes over with a pair of superkicks! Blacklash, though is able to make a defensive tag and Bullwhip comes in a dominates Moonstrike!
He scores a couple of near falls, but a botched double-team maneuver cost them and Moonstrike his some high-impact offense before tagging in Flare for the double-team!
Flare goes back and forth with both members of Dorado Sundown, managing to stay a step ahead for the most part. He scores a couple near falls on each, but they won't stay down!
Flare goes for his finisher, but misses! Bullwhip comes back, but he's taken a lot of punishment!
They jockey for position and both men's partners are wanting a tag!
Neither man gets it, though and Flare and Bullwhip fight it out back and forth, until Flare gets and edge and hits high impact offense to put Bullwhip away after a fallaway slam!
Dorado Sundown is eliminated! Bullwhip is hurting and his partner helps him from the ring. The finals are set! Paladin Power vs The Guardians!
Santon the Loner vs. Screw Santon the Loner defeated Screw with a DQ at 11:05 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: This next bout is a one fall contest scheduled for a 30 minute time limit!
Introducing first from Parts Unknown, at 6'2”, 245 pounds, Santon, the Loner!
And his opponent, also from Parts Unknown, standing 6'5” tall and weighing in at 345 pounds, Screw!
This match is a special attraction before the main event. Both men requested this one, actually, knowing they wouldn't be on the card other wise!
They go back and forth before Santon is able to stagger the big man and after an atomic knee drop, Screw rolls outside to collect himself. Santon elects not to follow at first, but he comes off the apron with a double axe handle, but Screw catches him and rams him straight into the ring post!
A piledriver back inside leads to a near fall and some are wondering if that was a subtle insult to Santon as that move is his finisher.
Santon hangs tough, though and even kicks out of a FREAKISH FACE SLAM!
He battles back and the contest continues in a see-saw style. It spills out again after a near fall on Santon's part and this time all hell breaks loose! Santon seems to provoke Screw into unleashing on him and eventually the ref comes out, but Screw pushes him away and draws a DQ!
- Finals for the GWF Tag Team Championship - The Guardians vs. Paladin Power for the Galaxian Tag Team Championship Moonstrike defeated Morpheus with a PALADIN DROP at 20:23 Morpheus defeated Moonstrike with a TRIP TO HADES at 31:10 Omega defeated Solar Flare with a DQ at 39:22 Omega defeated Solar Flare with a Cetus Suplex at 51:07 Match Rating: 5.00 Match Notes: Ladies and gentlemen it is time for the main event of the evening! And their opponents at a combined weight of 532 pounds, Omega of Cetus, Morpheus of Aldebaran, they are the Guardians!
Both teams get great reactions and streamers meet them in the ring.
Omega and Solar Flare start this one off. They go back and forth, jockeying for position early on, but Omega ends up dominating and scoring a nearfall.
The Guardians use some excellent tag work and Morpheus controls for a while, but Flare comes back.
Some more tag work by the Guardians.
Solar Flare finally makes a tag to Moonstrike, but it has little effect. The Guardians are firmly in control here.
Moonstrike, though, makes a big comeback and score a nearfall after a Titan Drop! He his PALADIN POWER, but Morpheus is there to break up the count.
Another near fall after a moonsault, but Omega struggle back! He makes a tag, but for the first time the double-team tactics don't pay off and Moonstrike gets a nearfall on Morpheus!
Moonstrike dazzles with some moves off the top rope and tags in Solar Flare.
Morpheus is able to battle back and score the damnedest near fall ever after TRIP TO HADES!
Morpheus stays on him, but Flare comes back and a tag to Moonstrike is much needed. He hits a Titan Drop and gets a 2-count, only.
PALADIN DROP! 1,2,3!!! Paladin Power scores the first fall!
The beginning of the second fall saw a heated exchange between Moonstrike and Morpheus. They went back and forth and Morpheus was doing everything he could to make up for the previous fall!
Morpheus took the fight to him and it looked one-sided for a while. They brawled on the outside and it was clear they'd go to any lengths to secure a win!
Moonstrike came back, but it wasn't enough!
Morpheus stormed back and hit him with Natural Disaster followed by a flying lariat from the top! Satanic Skull Smasher! TRIP TO HADES! 1,2... NO! Moonstrike shocks! Another! 1,2... NO!!!! Morpheus is beside himself! A third TRIP TO HADES and Moonstrike is OUT! 1,2,3!
The fans are on their feet as we are tied 1 fall apiece!
After the rest period both men tag out and Omega and Solar Flare are starting the final fall off!
They go back and forth for a while until Omega gets the big move and punishes Flare with everything he's got. He scores a near fall with a leg lariat! TOMAHAWK THRUST! Moonstrike is in! Superkick!!! Flare's down! Omega's down! Morpheus is complaining to the ref! The ref calls for the bell! The winners of the fall as a result of a disqualification, the Guardians!
However, it is clear in the GWF's laws that a belt cannot be awarded via a disqualification or countout unless previously stipulated. Omega calls for the match to continue and everyone agrees! The fans are on their feet as we enter, what you could consider sudden death!
Flare and Omega are in the ring again and Omega is hot!
They trade holds and eventually Omega makes a hot tag to Morpheus. Flare is later able to do the same to Moonstrike and they go back and forth. Moonstrike scores a couple of near falls and then tags in Solar Flare. The double-team back-fires and Morpheus takes over.
Omega is tagged in and takes the fight to him big time! Flare comes back! They exchange holds! The crowd is hot! Omega with a reversal! Cetus Suplex! Cover! 1,2,3!!!! The Guardians win the titles! The Guardians win the titles!!!

GWF News
Fittingly, Morpheus and Omega are our very first Tag Team Champions. The Guardians were pushed to the limit by Paladin Power and they've already agreed to a rematch!
At the same time, Torin Caelum is eager to defend his Galaxian title and it's been announced that K.O. Keller will get a shot.
Both of these huge matches will take place at the December Deimos card, titled: First Defense.
In other news, a GWF rankings committee has been formed and it is comprised of some the most respected journalists, referees, and promoters in the galaxy! Morpheus and Omega have decided to step back from dictating matches, though they're still available to the the talent for match requests.
The GWF Rankings Committee's first act was to sign two #1 contenders matches also for the First Defense card! Dorado Sundown and the Mensans would battle in the tag team division while Omega would take on Blood in singles action.
Because of Omega's title match, Paladin Power honorably agreed to have a team member compete in singles action to "even" the odds. While certainly gracious, is it the type of move that could backfire?
Also, Ricken Prince and Santon will do battle in a 2/3 falls match! These two have already got a heated rivalry going on. Will this match see it come to an end or just stoke the flames?
GWF Classics #4: First Defense 12.23.2074 from Deimos, Mars
- #1 Contender's Bout - The Mensans vs. Dorado Sundown
Jammer vs. Moonstrike
- #1 Contender's Bout - Blood vs. Omega

Some interesting trends. I like the early 'sportsmanship first' culture that seems nearly uniform across the roster. Will it hold up as time goes by? Caelum vs Keller for the Galaxian Title is as vintage Classics Era as it gets. The independent ranking committee sounds like a fair minded idea on paper...but even among a panel of experts, opinions are never immune from real or perceived prejudice. Omega pulling double duty in singles and tag competition may come with a price. All that glitters is not gold, and eventually something will have to give for the Guardians.
You're building a great foundation and a consistently pleasurable read!

Great series of cards! Torin Caelum should make a helluva champion and it will be hard to get the strap off of him until a lil' further down the road...Although I predicted against them last time-the Guardians are nearly unbeatable nigh unstoppable and the fact that they have the Galaxian tag titles means that they can only break the reign up themselves...here are my predicts for First Defense.
GWF Classics #4: First Defense 12.23.2074 from Deimos, Mars
- #1 Contender's Bout - The Mensans vs. Dorado Sundown
Jammer vs. Moonstrike
- #1 Contender's Bout - Blood vs. Omega
Commander Sam vs. Torpor
- 2/3 Falls - Ricken Prince vs. Santon the Loner
- 2/3 Falls - The Guardians vs. Paladin Power for the Galaxian Tag Team Championship
- 2/3 Falls - Torin Caelum vs. K.O. Keller for the Galaxian Championship

This one's for the Macho Man, Randy Savage. He exemplified everything I love about wrestling and especially North American wrestling. As a kid of the 80's he was second only to Hogan, but even after the shine wore off and I matured, Savage remained where Hogan could not. He still does. Been watching videos all night and all day. From Memphis in '83 to WCW in '96. He was phenomenal. And he is and always will be one of the biggest reasons I LOVE wrestling. Which basically makes him one of the biggest reasons I play this game. RIP Randy Poffo
GWF Classics #4: First Defense 12.23.2074 from Deimos, Mars
- #1 Contender's Bout - The Mensans vs. Dorado Sundown Trotarus defeated Bullwhip with a DQ at 7:14 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: The Mensans make their way out first and Cordsar is all attitude.
It's nothing compared to the rowdy entrance of Dorado Sundown! Bullwhip and Blacklash's entrance echoes that of Brody and Hansen. Wild, determined, tough!
Blacklash and Trotarus start the action off. They jockeyed for position early. Trotarus shot Blacklash off into the ropes, but Blacklash hit him with a jaw-jacking lariat and got a near-fall!
Dorado Sundown used the double-team to press their advantage and had no problem brawling outside the ring.
That led to the finish. Bullwhip tumbled out of the ring after missing a turnbuckle charge, but caught Trotarus with an elbow and then sent him into the ring-post!
The ref warned him, but it didn't matter. Bullwhip smashed him head-first into the post and the ref called for the DQ!
Dorado Sundown was hot!
They screamed about a conspiracy and threatened the ref! Omega and Morpheus came out to a huge reaction, but DS didn't back down! All four men were in the ring, but officials poured out of the back and kept them apart.
DS raising hell, The Guardians protecting the order of the GWF. Is this going to be something we see a lot more of? I think so.
Jammer vs. Moonstrike Jammer defeated Moonstrike with a BAD NIGHT at 6:15 Match Rating: 2.25 Match Notes: These two men are no strangers to one another, having both wrestled in POW to acclaim.
The ref gave instructions and we got underway. Keep in mind Moonstrike has a GWF Tag title shot with Solar Flare against the Guardians later. Will he try to finish this one early?
They went back and forth, but Jammer's slight power advantage gave him the edge he needed and he worked the Titan over.
He applied BAD NIGHT, but it was too early and Moonstrike fought out of it.
Jammer was relentless, though. He kept on Moonstrike and chose to keep it in the ring and go for the submission with BAD NIGHT.
Moonstrike tried to hang tough, but after being worn down he tapped, perhaps to save himself for later, but he still took a lot of punishment.
- #1 Contender's Bout - Blood vs. Omega Omega defeated Blood with a TOMAHAWK THRUST at 4:39 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: As a result of the GWF Galaxian Title Tournament, Omega and Blood were determined to be the top contenders for the belt. This bout was signed to determine the next contender. Omega is the favorite, but Blood out performed most others that night and definitely deserves to be in this match.
Omega made a statement with a Cetus Suplex right out of the gates! It set the tone for the rest of the match. The man from Cetus tore Blood apart and left little doubt who the number one contender should be.
A TOMAHAWK THRUST was followed by a flying chop that had Blood on dream-street! Another TOMAHAWK THRUST put him down for the count and Omega is officially the number-one contender.
He's also a lot less worn than Moonstrike going into the Tag Team Title defense later tonite!
Commander Sam vs. Torpor Commander Sam defeated Torpor with a STAR SPANGLED BANNER at :25 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Sam gets a great reaction from the crowd. The youngster is focused tonite as he prepares to bring the fight to Torpor.
And bring it he did! He squashed the Cygnusian in a match that had the fans wild over Sam's dominance! Hip toss, Sam's Atomic Drop, and the STAR SPANGLED BANNER got the win!
Sam celebrated post-match as Torpor slunk to the back.
- 2/3 Falls - Ricken Prince vs. Santon the Loner Santon the Loner defeated Ricken Prince with a DQ at 12:15 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: This next match is a 2 out of 3 falls contest stemming from split victories between the two. There is a wild-card element in this as well. Screw and Santon battled to a DQ finish and Ricken Prince and Screw have a bit of a history already form the POW. Screw wants another match with Santon. Santon doesn't seem the type to back down from any fight, but first he wants Prince!
These two are ready to square off.
This was a hot back and forth contest from the opening bell. These two are fine brawlers and this match was a testament to that. Santon eventually took control and pressed his advantage. He looked great with hi-impact moves and even some high-flying!
Prince would battle back, though and when the action spilled out of the ring for the fourth time no one could imagine what would happen next!
Prince smashed Santon with a chair and the ref called for a DQ! Then Screw ran out! FREAKISH FACE SLAM on the concrete! Prince is laughing, but Screw pushes him away and stands over Santon. He's out! This one's over!
The ref declares Santon the winner of the fall, but the match is ruled a no-contest.
Santon will be injured for 1. Omega and Morpheus aren't quite sure what to do about this one.
- 2/3 Falls - The Guardians vs. Paladin Power for the Galaxian Tag Team Championship Omega defeated Moonstrike with a TOMAHAWK THRUST at 20:23 Solar Flare defeated Morpheus with a PALADIN MISSILE at 10:15 Omega defeated Solar Flare with a TOMAHAWK THRUST at 47:21 Match Rating: 5.00 Match Notes: The challengers entered and Moonstrike is looking just a bit rundown after his match earlier, but both men are ready for this rematch from last month's tournament final.
The champions enter to a huge ovation from the fans and Morpheus and Solar Flare will start this one out.
Morpheus took the punishment to him and looked like he could put him away, but Flare rallied back and made a tag to Moonstrike. Paladin Power used tag work to to their advantage and Morpheus was taking a beating.
Flare missed a PALADIN MISSILE, but was able to come back and hit it the second time! Omega tried to make the save, but Flare got the pin!
The challengers are up a fall!
Morpheus battled back at the beginning of the second fall and made a tag to Omega.
Omega brought the fight, but the tag work by the Titans kept them alive.
Still, Omega kept bouncing back and strung together some hi-impact offense that led to a TOMAHAWK THRUST to score a fall!
They're all tied up.
All four men would see action as the back and forth contest continued! The audience was wild as the match just kept going from one team's control to the others.
At one point Flare hit his finisher on Morpheus again. Omega was in to break up the pin, but Moonstrike soon followed and a huge brawl erupted. Morpheus wrestled the upper hand away and eventually made a needed tag to the fresher Omega.
This was just an amazing match! There were so many pin-fall attempts and Paladin Power continued to use the double-team to their advantage.
Omega was taking a hell of a beating, but made the desperation tag to Morpheus.
The action was too hot to call at times and all four men were just amazing in the ring and out. In fact as the match wore on it became clear that tensions were mounting. Morpheus was a bloody mess after being smashed head-first into the time-keeper's table, Omega, Flare, and Moonstrike soon followed suit and what began as a hot athletic contest became a bloodbath!
As the match stretched past the 40 minute mark it looked like we were going to have new tag team champions, but Omega rallied back in classic style and finally after 47 minutes of the finest wrestling action anywhere, Omega put Solar Flare down with the TOMAHAWK THRUST to retain the GWF Tag Team titles!
Another classic, exhausting battle between four of the toughest competitors in the GWF. On any other night, it may just have been Paladin Power walking out with the straps, but The Guardians are victorious in their first defense.
The stand bloody and blown-up in the middle of the ring as the fans cheer them on.
- 2/3 Falls - Torin Caelum vs. K.O. Keller for the Galaxian Championship Torin Caelum defeated K.O. Keller with a CAELUM'S GRIP at 6:48 Torin Caelum defeated K.O. Keller with a CAELUM'S GRIP at 11:42 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: The next match was for Torin Caelum's GWF Galaxian title. K.O. Keller and Caelum have met two other times. The first ended in a DQ victory for Keller, while the second ended in Caelum becoming the first GWF Champion!
Keller is as tough as they come and his arsenal of punches have delivered punishing defeats to many opponents throughout the years.
Caelum is the consummate professional and grappler extraordinaire. His title win is still being discussed throughout the universe two months later. It's time for his first defense as Keller gets another shot at the title.
After the streamers are cleared from the ring, both men shake hands and the ref calls for the bell!
Caelum burst out of the gate with some of his finest moves and holds. He looked great, taking the upper-hand and pressing his advantage in the early goings.
His gameplan was clear and it echoed the title match. Caelum targeted Keller's arms and shoulders and worked to take away his most powerful weapons by weakening the arms.
The wear-down was effective, to say the least, and the Sagitta Strangler applied CAELUM'S GRIP for the submission! He takes the first fall handily.
The GWF champions was relentless and used a variety of holds to stretch and ground Keller. We were seeing a completely different match and it's clear that Caelum has scouted Keller to a tee!
He continued his attack and applied CAELUM'S GRIP for the third time to win two straight falls and retain the GWF Galaxian Heavyweight Championship!
The crowd gave the champ a standing ovation as Keller returned to the back clutching his left shoulder.
Overall Card Rating: 2.21

This one's for the Macho Man, Randy Savage. He exemplified everything I love about wrestling and especially North American wrestling. As a kid of the 80's he was second only to Hogan, but even after the shine wore off and I matured, Savage remained where Hogan could not. He still does. Been watching videos all night and all day. From Memphis in '83 to WCW in '96. He was phenomenal. And he is and always will be one of the biggest reasons I LOVE wrestling. Which basically makes him one of the biggest reasons I play this game. RIP Randy Poffo Well said. An amazing performer who was truly one of a kind. RIP Macho Man! It's nothing compared to the rowdy entrance of Dorado Sundown! Bullwhip and Blacklash's entrance echoes that of Brody and Hansen. Wild, determined, tough! Very interesting comparison, there is a lot of commonality between these two teams. During their run in All Japan, the Miracle Power Combination were godlike in their aura and intensity. Like Blacklash & Bullwhip, they were gaijin/outsiders who forcefully introduced a different style and rebellious approach into an established order. Like DS, the influence of MPC (especially Hansen's) endured well beyond their tenure. A high compliment for the wild nomads from Dorado. It's fun reading about the early career of Commander Sam. In terms of finishers, I preferred the Star Spangled Banner to Sam's Atomic Drop. SAD always reminded me of Bob Backlund's Atomic Spinecrusher, which I never really liked as a lights out maneuver. The Prince/Santon debacle creates a conundrum for the front office. Santon plays fall guy while both PR & Screw may be in line for some form of disciplinary action. When assessing a fallout response, will O & M see things the same way? Omega once again proves to be the living definition of a stud. First he took it to Blood in singles competition, and then steps up big time, rallying The Guardians back from a deficit, securing the two winning falls in a four way juicer. Even at this early stage, the legend from Cetus is all man, and then some! Dominate victory for Torin Caelum. Taking two straight falls against a challenger as tough as KO Keller sends a clear message to every wrestler in the back. It's one thing to aspire to be the GWF Galaxian Heavyweight Champion, but to realize that dream, you will have to go through the Sagitta Strangler. Prepare to be sonned, and do the walk of shame! From top to bottom, your write up was a great tribute to Randy from Florida!

After nearly a year long hiatus, I've decided to jump back into my classics fed. The first post in this thread describes all the parameters I intend on using for this fed and the previous four cards, of course, follow if you'd like to get caught up.
Hope you enjoy the results and I'm going to do my best to get a card or two out per week.
GWF Classics #5: New Year's Evolution '75 01.27.2075 from Deimos, Mars
The Crosscurrents vs. Defiance Vortex defeated Blood with a Spinning Vortex at 6:45 Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: Defiance got a mild reaction from the crowd and looked all business as they took to the ring.
The Crosscurrents on the other hand got a great reaction, especially from the younger contingent. They were slapping hands on their way down and leapt into the ring ready for action.
Neither of these two teams has been fairing well lately, and this is certainly and opportunity for one of them to get a leg up in the standings. They're both hungry for it. Defiance has the experience, but most would argue the Crosscurrents have a teamwork that's had to match.
Jammer and Vortex start things off. Jammer brought it, but a quick tag out on defense turned the tide and Thetis was able to put Jammer on the ropes.
Eventually Blood was tagged in, though and he dominated Thetis until a tag out to Vortex was made. Still, it looked like Blood would easily handle the young Thalassian. A brainbuster and a spear were making a strong case for a Defiance win, but then Vortex was whipped into the turnbuckle and Blood was met with a boot to the face followed by a Spinning Vortex for a shocking 1,2,3!
The Crosscurrents celebrated the win in the ring as Blood and Jammer looked on from the outside; disappointed and fired up.
Screw vs. Torpor Screw defeated Torpor with a piledriver at 6:05 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: This is an interesting match-up between two men that have yet to really start much in the GWF. Though and imposing figure, Screw hasn't lived up to his hype just yet and Torpor has struggled to be anything more than a punching bag.
This match did little to break Torpor's trend as Screw punished him for 6 brutal minutes. He seemed to be living up to all that potential, though it was against a weaker opponent.
He threw just about all of his offense against him and built to a strong finish after a pair of press slams, a middle rope clothesline, and then a piledriver for a convincing victory.
Torpor had to be helped to his feet after Screw kicked him out of the ring.
- #1 Contenders Match - Dorado Sundown vs. The Mensans Bullwhip defeated Cordsar with a RUSTLER'S STAMPEDE at 9:45 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: This return bout from the previous card would determine the next challengers for the Tag Team titles! The Mensans made their way out to a tepid reaction, but from Cordsar's behavior, you'd think he was Omega, himself.
Dorado Sundown were showered with boos as they made a rough and rowdy entrance. Insulting fans and even spitting tobacco juice on the ring steps!
Blacklash would start things off with Cordsar and the young Mensan did his damnedest to hand with him. They went back and forth with some hot exchanges, neither man gaining the upper hand, until Cordsar nearly shocked himself with a cross body off the ropes that gave him the advantage.
It was short-lived, though and Blacklash would take control after a Tombstone from no where! He worked the young Mensan over and DS used some tag work to press their advantage, but Cordsar kept coming back for a flurry here and there.
However, he never seized the chance to tag out and it hurt him in the end. Bullwhip got a couple near falls, but Trotarus was able to break it up. Bullwhip tagged in Blacklash and eventually they hit RUSTLER'S STAMPEDE for a big 1, 2, 3!
After the match, Blacklash grabbed a mic.
BLACKLASH: Guardians!!! Omega! Morpheus! I hope you were watching closely, boys! Because Bullwhip and I are coming for those tag titles! And not only are we taking the straps, but we're putting you on the shelf! And once that happens, Dorado Sundown will rule the roost! The GWF is OURS!!!
Morpheus vs. Ricken Prince Morpheus defeated Ricken Prince with a DQ at 3:02 Match Rating: 0.00 Match Notes: Ricken Prince was showered with quite a few boos upon his entrance, but he seemed to enjoy them. He taunted a few fans at ringside, even going so far as to make a fan bow to him at the promise of a ruby bracelet. The fan bowed, but then Prince laughed in his face and kept the bracelet!
Morpheus' entrance got a good pop and he made his way to the ring with one of the tag team belts over his shoulder.
Upon the bell ringing, Morpheus took it to Prince and began to methodically deconstruct the big man. He looked to have things well in hand, but Prince came back and hit a Samoan drop out of the blue.
Prince tossed Morpheus outside and slammed him on the concrete! He rolled him in and hit BOW TO THE PRINCE for a near fall! He went to that well again, but the ref wasn't having any of it and called for the DQ!
Prince argued with him after the bell and threatened him with a closed fist, but Morpheus was up and chased him out of the ring!
The ref raised Morpheus' hand as he held his tag team title to the cheers of the fans.
Commander Sam & K.O. Keller vs. Paladin Power Commander Sam defeated Solar Flare with a DQ at 4:08 Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: Sam and Keller made their way out to a great reaction from the crowd and Sam was hi-fiving fans at ringside as Keller took the ring.
Paladin Power also got a decent pop as they took to the ring. They took the Guardians to the limit in two epic matches that have helped put the GWF on the map and they'd love nothing more than to continue wowing the crowds as they strive for another coveted title shot for the tag team belts.
Moonstrike and Sam started things off and the youngster was just no match for the tag team excellence that are Paladin Power.
Moonstrike dismantled him and got a near fall after a missile dropkick. He tagged in Solar Flare and Moonstrike catapulted Sam into a flying clothesline from Flare! Sam was in big trouble and Flare got a near-fall of his own. Keller broke it up, tho.
While the ref escorted Keller out. Moonstrike and Flare blasted Sam with a double-team snap suplex!
Sam rolled out of the ring after kicking out of another pin attempt. Flare pursued him and a wild brawl erupted! Sam was busted wide open and when the ref went to check on him, Flare shoved him to the floor to continue his assault! A very fired up ref called for the bell and awarded the match to Keller and Sam as a result of a DQ!
Flare and Moonstrike didn't seem too upset about the result, but Keller was fired up and he and a bloody Sam seemed like they were ready for more! Could we see a rematch?
- 2/3 Falls - Torin Caelum vs. Omega for the Galaxian Championship Omega defeated Torin Caelum with a TOMAHAWK THRUST at 11:38 Torin Caelum defeated Omega with a CAELUM'S GRIP at 20:52 Omega defeated Torin Caelum with a COSMIC WAR DANCE at 27:09 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: This next match is a Two out of Three Falls bout for the GWF Championship! Making his way to the ring now, the challenger, from Cetus at 6'1" and weighing 237 pounds, Omega!!!
Omega, one half of the tag team champions, came out to a monster pop! His entrance would give even the most jaded fan goose bumps.
And now, your GWF Champion, hailing from Sagitta, 5'11", 245 pounds, the Sagitta Strangler, Torin Caelum!!!
The champ got quite the reaction, too. Torin Caelum made his way out with nothing but determination in his eyes.
This one started off and the champ tried to dictate his usual slow and methodical pace by working over Omega's arm. He had full control and took it to the founding father of the GWF targeting his right arm and shoulder as well as his mid-section.
Omega was in trouble in a hurry and Torin went for both the submission and pin fall early on wearing out the challenger and coming so close to scoring that pivotal first fall.
Omega came back in a BIG way, though and began using a combination of hi-impact offense and wear down holds to keep Caelum off his game. It proved to be enough and scored a huge first fall with the TOMAHAWK THRUST!
The second fall was even wilder than the first as both men threw their arsenals at one another. Caelum on the disadvantage took some risks and at one point missed an uncharacteristic splash in the corner! He hit the steel ring post and fell to the outside!
Omega pursued him, not wanting to win by a count out. Caelum was lacerated and bleeding quite profusely from the hit, but, showing the heart of champion, he battled back on the outside and evened the odds after planting the challenger face first onto the concrete with a bulldog!! Omega was wearing the crimson mask as the referee warned both men to bring it back into the ring.
Caelum pressed his advantage and went back to the bloody Omega's arm and midsection. The champ punished the challenger and eventually made him submit to his signature CAELUM'S GRIP!
Evened up at one fall apiece, the crowd knew they were in for something special as both men shook off the fatigue and punishment and gave it everything they had in the final fall. The battled back and forth with neither man gaining a clear cut advantage. There were multiple near falls, but the finish saw Omega drop a charging Caelum with a stun gun and follow it up with not one, not two, but three COSMIC WAR DANCES to seal the victory and become the second ever GWF Champion!!!!
The crowd went wild as the bloody Omega's hand was raised! Caelum could barely get to his feet, but when he did he took the belt from the ref and presented it to the new champ in a great display of sportsmanship.
Morpheus made his way out to congratulate his tag team partner. While he was sincere in his congratulations, there did seem to be a good-natured envy about him as well. He certainly wants his own chance at the title, but perhaps not at the expense of his partner... Right?
The celebrating was cut short as Dorado Sundown made their way out! They mocked Omega and motioned to the tag team titles and then their own waists as the show came to a close!
Omega won the Galaxian Championship
Overall Card Rating: 2.02
