GWF 2105 Highlights
From WPU 8.3
MAYHEM TOPS COLOSSUS FOR GWF TITLE The renegade Aethran Mayhem claimed the GWF Heavyweight Championship for the sixth time in his career by defeating Colossus at the Alpha Centauri Colonnade on March 28.
Mayhem dominated the title contest from the opening bell. He was never in serious jeopardy, as Colossus simply seemed overmatched until the new champion pinned him with a “Mayhem Manslaughter” at the six minute mark.
Mayhem has now ended both of Colossus’ GWF title reigns, having also taken the title from the Sagittan superstar in 2104. After the contest, Krakan, Mayhem’s manager, had the following comments:
“We’ve got a real champion now. The GWF needs this. Mayhem can stand up to anything the CPC throws at him. My Militia, for one, is not gonna lay down and let Colby take over. If Colby’s boys want to try us, we’ll be ready.”
COSMIC MAYHEM SUPERCARD NOTES: RETURN OF A LEGEND One of the best matches on the card was again Malice against Nefarus for the Interplanetary title. As they did at Galactic War, the two warriors fought a tremendous battle. This time, however, Nefarus won the match cleanly to retain his belt.
An unexpected moment occurred during the Alpha Force/ Holocaust match, which was won by Alpha Force. When Alpha took an early advantage, Holocaust’s manager Doomsayer turned and walked away from the ring, leaving his man alone for the rest of the match. Holocaust was seen leaving the arena alone after the card and has not appeared at a GWF event in the weeks since.
Both Janus and the Matador were injured in brawls after their matches with Pegasus and Colossus. Bounty Hunter was the guest referee for the contest in which Pegasus defeated Janus. The Matador suffered severe ligament damage that is expected to keep him out of action for over two months. Commissioner Grogan suspended Pegasus, but after the card a furious Magnus Colby appeared with Mesmer in the press room of the Polaris Interstellar Stadium and sounded off against the GWF.
“Look at what happened to my men today,” Colby stormed. “What was the so-called special referee Bounty Hunter doing while Pegasus was pounding on Janus? This is an obvious attempt to bring down the CPC, but it won’t work. This is war now, and Mesmer has orders to do whatever is necessary to win it. Omega is gone, so he can’t stop us. Star Warrior and Thantos are still trying to figure out how to be managers. Destructon is a machine. Rocket is a fool. Krakan is a madman. Who is there to stand against us?”
An unexpected but familiar voice broke in from the back of the press room. “I will,” the voice said firmly. “You’ll never beat the GWF while I’m still breathing.”
“You!” Mesmer screamed. “I thought we were rid of you.”
The press corps turned around to see perhaps the last man they expected: Commander Sam, who had been missing since late 2104 when he was fired as a the manager of the Citadel of the Elite.
“You hoped you were rid of me,” Sam snapped. “No such luck. I was confused for a while. I made a lot of wrong choices, and I’ll take the responsibility for them. But you had a hand in it, too, Mesmer. I’ll never forgive that. I’m back, and I’m ready to do whatever I can to stop you and Colby.”
The press conference ended with this angry standoff. No one could say with certainty what the next move would be for either side, but Commander Sam was clearly back where he belonged.
WAR GAMES ROSTERS FOR 2105 ANNOUNCED Excerpts from War Games Press Conference: Lord Nexus: Terak is here with us today because we will once again be combining our teams as the “Titan Kingdom.” Wildcat and Vyper will join TitanAttack and Titan Fury. Terak and I will manage the team together.
Darkos: The Masked Assassins are proud to have acquired to services of one of the most accomplished teams in the history of the GWF: The Mercenaries. Krakan will also be along with us to manage them, as they will join the Ninja Assassins, Enigma, and Manslaughter.
Johnny Rocket: I want to announce that X-Termination has reached an agreement with the Gladiators of Aethra for this year’s War Games. We will join Malice and Vengeance and call ourselves Gladiator Alliance. But that’s not all. We’ve also brought in a real champion from Dimension X. His name is Vector One, and with his help we will rule the games. We all know I’m the greatest announcer ever, and now everyone will see that I’m the greatest manager, too.
Heracles: Chaos sent me in to announce a surprise. Chaos, Skinhead, and I will be joined by a great tag team that is now reunited in the GWF. They are former USWF tag team champs. Rock Ravishing will be joining us to again team up with Marikel the Magnificent as “Pure Power.”
Star Warrior: The Defenders of the Galaxy will again feature Pegasus, Colossus, and Alpha Force, but we have two new members for the War Games. I’ll let my co-manager make the announcement. Go ahead, Thantos.
Thantos: That’s right, Star Warrior and I are together as a team again, this time as managers. And what I’m bringing to the Defenders is the GWF tag team champions: Thunder and Overkill. When we’re done with your pretty boys, Heracles, they’ll be running back to the USWF where it’s safe. And Rocket, since you’ve allied yourself with Vengeance, your men had better make sure they don’t get in our way.
Mandrill: As the defending War Games champions, we have of course added Vendetta this year. Rocket and his men jumped ship, but it’s their loss. Our fifth man was on his own, and he’s agreed to help us stay on top. Dark Justice will be joining us this year for the War Games.
Vertigo: We always have a response for the Colonizers. They found an independent to join them, and so did we. Ours happens to have held more singles titles than anyone in this federation’s history. Wolf will be a member of Genesis for the War Games.
Mesmer: I’ll speak for the entire CPC. We will have two teams in the Games. I will manage Penthouse Suite, which will include Janus, the Matador, Prodigy, and Theater of Pain. Doomsayer will manage our second team, Executive Order. You already know that Terminus, U. S. Patriot, Monad, and Dreadnaught are part of the team. But, as you may have noticed at Cosmic Mayhem, Holocaust has been given his release. In his place, we have brought Kati back from the USWF for the War Games.
Commander Sam: The Federation Defense Fighters are back. The first to come on board was Jason the Canadian Bomber. The Centaurians have also agreed to join us. And Exo-King has agreed to allow Jack of Diamonds to return to the FDF. Exo-King will also help me out with the managing duties.
USWF REPORT
MACCAVITY WINS USWF BELT FOR THIRD TIME Maccavity, the young star who spent most of the past two years in the GWF, took less than five months to climb back on top of the USWF when he took the federation’s heavyweight championship from Pathfinder at the Deneb Sports Arena on April 23.
Pathfinder appeared for the match without his manager, Shadowmaster, who had been injured a few days earlier in an attack by Splatter. However, CPC leader Kati accompanied the champion to the ring and got involved in the match around the ten minute mark. Special referee Billy Jo Boxer knocked Kati out when the Samoan tried to interfere, but the distraction allowed Pathfinder to blast the challenger with a foreign object. Moments later, however, Maccavity’s manager Parsec again diverted Boxer, and Maccavity took advantage to hit Pathfinder with a “Grand Theft” and score the pin.
Maccavity thus captured the USWF’s top prize for the third time, the first two having come when he was known as “the Phantom” and a member of Shadowmaster’s Assassin’s Guild. Pathfinder held the belt for slightly over two months and eight defenses in his first title reign.
TOLTECAS IS FIRST USWF CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMP The rookie Toltecas won the tournament to become the first USWF Cruiserweight champion, defeating Altret in the finals at the Astral Gardens of Formalhaut on May 3. The twelve man tournament had run on regular USWF cards throughout the month of April.
Toltecas defeated Scavenger in the semi-finals, while the surprising Altret upset Lycanthrope to reach the championship match. Toltecas then took just three minutes to score the pin on Altret with a “Mexican Hat Dance” and take the win.
“We’re very proud of Toltecas,” said Lance At-las, manager of the Star Defenders. “I think he’s as good as any cruiserweight in wrestling right now, and he’s just going to get better. With him, Black Hawk, Crazy Horse, and the Star Patrol, we’re now a stronger team than we’ve ever been. Marlicus and the CPC can both bring on whatever they’ve got. We’re ready for them this year.”
Maccavity was originally entered in the tournament, but he withdrew after winning the USWF heavyweight title, giving Altret an early bye. Also surprising in the tournament were Reganald Witherspoon and Conrad Chase, who defeated Crow and Jackal in first round matches.
SPLATTER ON A RAMPAGE AGAIN The lunatic Splatter, currently banned from the GWF, made his first major dent in the USWF in late April.
First, on a card at the Cor Coroli Diamond Dome, Splatter knocked out three managers in the same night. Lance At-las, the Incredible Badger, and Shadowmaster all fell before the lunatic’s club. Shadowmaster’s injury may have had a direct bearing on Maccavity claiming the USWF title during the manager’s absence.
A few days later at the Algol Double Star Arena, Splatter struck again, this time taking out the big earthman Sagebrush. Sagebrush suffered an elbow injury that will keep him out of action until mid-June. Splatter was suspended by Commissioner Powell but will return for the May 11 supercard on Andromeda.

Very impressive format DM. You've got such a vast history represented that you may want to consider editing in a Table of Contents on the first page (maybe by game year). Regardless this makes for a really great read!

Regardless this makes for a really great read! Thanks. I appreciate the positive comments. I'd be happy to do a table of contents, but I don't know how I could do so. Is there a way to go back and insert a post at the beginning? As far as I know, and new post would have to come after this one, which would defeat the purpose a bit. If there is a way to put a table of contents post up front, please let me know.

GWF 2105 Highlights
From WPU 8.4
THAKUR DEMANDS RETURN OF AETHRAN SUPERCARD Shortly after the beginning of the GWF’s 2105 War Games, Gladiator leader Thakur demanded that the War Dome Warfare supercard be reinstituted by the federation. The GWF discontinued War Dome Warfare in 2104 due to the Aethran ban on Predator and Mayhem from returning to their home planet. “War Dome Warfare was the greatest of GWF events,” Thakur announced. “Aethran fans are more devoted to wrestling than anyone in the galaxy. On behalf of the Aethran High Command, I insist that the GWF reinstate War Dome Warfare. We will not negotiate over the status of Predator and Mayhem, and now over Thunder and Overkill. All four of them are deserters. The High Command will not tolerate interference in Aethran internal matters or politics. If War Dome Warfare is not reinstated immediately, everyone in wrestling will be sorry.” In response to Thakur’s demand, Commissioner Grogan issued the following statement: “We have no wish to interfere in Aethran politics. However, to hold a supercard at which some of our wrestlers are prohibited from participating for political reasons is unfair to both the wrestlers and their War Games teams. We will happily reinstate War Dome Warfare as soon as Aethra lifts its ban and assures safe conduct for Predator, Mayhem, Thunder, and Overkill. Until we receive such assurances, the Centaurus Collision at the Alpha Centauri Colonnade will continue to replace War Dome Warfare as it did in 2104.”
COLOSSUS REGAINS GALAXIAN TITLE FROM MAYHEM On the first regular War Games card, Colossus recaptured the GWF heavyweight championship by defeating Mayhem at the Rhea Forum of Saturn. The early portion of the match appeared to be an even affair, with the advantage swinging back and forth between the two combatants. Then, at the seven minute mark, Mayhem tried and missed a deathjump, and Colossus took control. The Sagittan star blasted Mayhem with his own “Leap of Doom” finisher, but the champion somehow managed to kick out. However, Colossus followed up with Mayhem’s “Danger Zone,” and Mayhem was unable to escape as Colossus scored the victory.
The win marks the second time in 2105 and the third overall that Colossus has won the Galaxian title. More important was the fact that the victory came over Mayhem, who had ended both of Colossus’ two previous title reigns. “Yeah, this feels good,” Colossus stated later. “Me and Mayhem have been going around for a while now. He always seemed to take me in the big matches. Well, I got him this time, and I got the belt again. I’m not gonna give it up easy.” The contest was Mayhem’s first defense without Krakan at ringside, as the Aethran has joined Brymstone Burning for the War Games. Mayhem made no comment on the significance of Krakan’s absence in his loss.
DEEP SPACE SHOWCASE SUPERCARD In the main event, Colossus retained the heavyweight title when Chaos was disqualified outside the ring.
CPC Manager Mesmer gloated after Chaos was disqualified against Colossus. “I think Chaos has a problem,” the mystic smiled. “His bodyguard, Scourge, just stood there and let him get DQ’d. Scourge isn’t that slow. I think he let Chaos lose. Chaos had better watch his back.”
After hearing the comments, Chaos replied with a scowl. “I know what Mesmer is up to,” the giant said. “He thinks he can turn me against Scourge with these accusations. He wants me to be suspicious of my own partners. Well, it won’t work. I trust Scourge, and I trust the other members of the Citadel. And I’ll be back for Colossus soon.” Despite Chaos’ denials, many observers felt that Mesmer’s accusations had some merit, as Scourge did fail to come to his leader’s defense with a distraction. In the following days, however, Chaos continued to dismiss the rumors.
USWF REPORT
SHOCKING TURN AT ANDROMEDA EXPLOSION In the main event of the Andromeda Explosion Supercard, CPC star Pathfinder regained the USWF Heavyweight Title by defeating Maccavity. The title contest was mired in controversy, most of it surrounding Maccavity’s manager Parsec. At the five minute mark of the match, Pathfinder blasted the champion and tossed him out of the ring. Instead of buying time for his man or allowing a very possible countout, Parsec picked Maccavity up and threw him back in at Pathfinder’s feet. Pathfinder then delivered two “Ceres Crunches” while Parsec simply watched and did nothing, but Maccavity still refused to be pinned. Finally the champion tried to make a comeback, but Pathfinder caught him with a clothesline coming out of the turnbuckle and made the pin while Parsec again made no effort to intervene. Parsec was unavailable for comment after the card. Another unexpected incident involved the three-man elimination tag match when Shawn Styles failed to appear at the arena. The Uptown Express, fighting at a disadvantage, was devastated by the Ivy League and Vulcan. Afterward, Sandy Styles expressed concern, saying that he had no knowledge of his brother’s whereabouts. A few days later, Shawn Styles declared that he was joining the CPC.
Due to Splatter’s attack on Cannibal a few days earlier, Homicide had to face Interstellar Champion the Unknown Soldier alone, while Shadowmaster accompanied the Soldier to ringside. Nevertheless, Homicide battled through to pin the champion and claim the IS belt for the second time. In a special challenge match, visiting GWF star Pegasus took less than two minutes to catch High Lord Marlicus with a clothesline out of the corner and pin his rival in their shortest match to date. Marlicus called the match a fluke later, but Pegasus nevertheless claimed the win.

GWF 2105 Highlights
From WPU 8.5
PULSAR REJOINS THE TITANS The first roster changes of the 2105 War Games saw a reunion of old friends and a new addition to W. A. R. at a press conference held before a War Games card at the Mira Galaxy Dome. Appearing at the press conference were Lord Nexus, Terak, and Destructon 3000.
“I guess I’ve been elected to start this,” Lord Nexus began. “Terak and I are here to announce changes in the roster of the Titan Kingdom. We’ve done better than anyone expected so far this year, but we felt that we needed more strength in singles action. We also realized that TitanAttack is just not ready for the War Games. Therefore, Ursa Major is going to move into singles action. I will still manage Scion Nexus, of course, but he will no longer be a part of our War Games roster. In his place, we’ve recruited an old ally. With the agreement of Destructon 3000, Pulsar is coming home to the Titans after three years away.
“I want to make it clear that I still don’t condone the use of the ‘Acid Rain,’” Nexus continued. “That move was the reason for Pulsar’s split from the Titans, and he still uses it. I disapprove, and Pulsar knows it, but we’re going to agree to disagree. He has his own way of doing things, and I’m just glad he’s back where he belongs. Pulsar will be competing later tonight at the Brymstone Battledome, and it will be as a part of the Titan Kingdom.”
Destructon 3000 spoke next. “I want to wish Pulsar the best of luck,” he stated. “Pulsar is a great wrestler, but he wanted to return to his roots, and we couldn’t hold him back. However, I want to announce his replacement on the W. A. R. roster. He has been competing in the USWF, and he was recommended to us by the Incredible Badger. He’s from Andromeda, so he’s a proper member of W. A. R. His name is Crow, and he’s coming in to compete for the cruiserweight title. With his help, we still expect to rebound and work our way back to the top of the standings.”
MANDRILL DEFEATS COLOSSUS FOR GALAXIAN BELT Mandrill the Prime Colonizer became the GWF Heavyweight champion for the second time in his career by defeating former champion Colossus twice in one week, the second time with the belt on the line. In the first match between the two opponents, a non-title matchup, Colossus controlled the contest and appeared to have the challenger defeated when a stunblast from Colonizer bodyguard Sentry knocked the champion cold. Mandrill simply rolled over and covered Colossus to claim the win. Mandrill expected a title shot, but Malice had also defeated Colossus in a recent non-title match. Both contenders petitioned for the first shot. Commissioner Grogan determined that because Malice had received a title match and lost recently, Mandrill would get the match. Furthermore, to keep Sentry away from the ring, the commissioner ordered that the contest be fought under Titan Death rules. Unfortunately for Colossus, with no chance of a disqualification Mandrill was free to dominate the match, which was held at the tiny Canopus Civic Coliseum. The Prime Colonizer blasted the champion all over the ring for five minutes, breaking rules all the way, before pinning the battered Colossus with a “Mutant Mauler” and taking the belt. “Now I’m back in control,” Mandrill gloated later. “This is just the beginning. The Colonizers are still the defending War Games champions, and we will defend. With this title to get us going, we’ll dominate the rest of the year.”
MERCENARIES ON TOP AGAIN Against all odds and predictions, the aging Mercenaries pulled off a stunning upset by defeating the New Order to win the GWF tag team belts at the Pollux Starfire Arena on July 18. Mace gained an early advantage in the match, and he and Dreggs took turns hammering Vigilante for five minutes. However, Vigilante took over when he was thrown to the floor and immediately caught Mace with an “Operation: Ambush.” Soldier of Fortune, who had not tagged into the match until the final move, made the cover to give the Mercenaries the belts for the eleventh time, tying them with the New Order and second only to the Ultimate Gladiators for most tag title reigns in GWF history. “I knew we could do this,” Vigilante gloated. “People say we’re over the hill. Well, we’re back on top of the hill now. We’ve been the best team in this federation for ten years, and we’re not through yet. Don’t ever count us out.” Mace, for his part, was critical of his manager after the loss. “Destructon should have been there for us,” he grumbled. “He didn’t make a move. Krakan doesn’t hesitate to get involved for his men. I don’t know what’s gonna happen, but if we don’t get back in the race to win the War Games soon, something is gonna have to give.”
(Intrusive Out-of-character Note: Notice the year. This win took place after the Mercenaries' cards were downgraded.)
SHORT TITLE REIGN FOR MANDRILL The second Galaxian title reign of Mandrill the Prime Colonizer ended after just over two weeks when Max Shield defeated him for the belt at the Polaris Interstellar Stadium.
Shield had dominated Mandrill in an earlier non-title contest, but the match on Polaris was a classic between two arch-rivals. Shield took an advantage after five minutes, but as he went for his finisher Sentry shot a Stunblast that hit the referee. A wild ten minute brawl followed in which the two combatants battled all over the arena until Shield finally connected with a “Maximum Impact” to score the win. Shield’s victory gave him his third Galaxian title reign but the first since 2101, when he held the belt twice in one year. Mandrill managed just two defenses before losing the belt.
VECTOR ONE A NO SHOW AT LAST PRE-STARCLASH CARD GWF newcomer and War Games singles champion Vector One failed to appear at the final card before Starclash, a War Games event at the Callisto Centroplex. Vector One was scheduled to participate with Gladiator Alliance teammates Vengeance and Sleeze in a three-man match against Titan Fury and Pulsar. An incredible performance by Vengeance and a solid effort by Sleeze helped the Gladiators win what turned out to be a very exciting handicap match. “I haven’t heard anything from him,” Vengeance muttered after the match when asked about Vector One’s absence. “I assumed he’d be here. Ask Rocket. He brought the guy in for us.” Vector One’s manager Johnny Rocket also expressed confusion at his wrestler’s failure to appear. However, Commissioner Grogan had the following reaction: “I do not know why Vector One was not here tonight. That’s a problem for Rocket and Vengeance. However, Vector One is schedule to defend the War Games title against Pegasus at Starclash. If he is not there, Pegasus will be awarded the belt by default.”
ROCKET PULLS A RECRUITING COUP Johnny Rocket called a press conference on the morning of Starclash, promising a major announcement. When the press was assembled, the former commentator appeared on stage alone and spoke. “First, in answer to the obvious question, no, I still have not heard from Vector One,” Rocket began. “I assume that he will be at the arena tonight. That’s all I can say about that situation. “However, I have another announcement to make. You all know that I recruited Vector One from Dimension X. Well, I’ve surpassed myself this time. WGX superstar Paragon has agreed to join the Rocket Men for next year. His contract with the WGX expires on January first, which will allow him to be here to win the Galaxy Cup tournament in 2106.” For once, Rocket had lived up to his promise. This was indeed a major signing. The media could only look forward to hearing the reaction of Chaos, the one-time rival of Paragon in the WGX.
STARCLASH SUPERCARD NOTES In the main event, Max Shield came back from near defeat to pin the Matador of M83 with a “Maximum Impact” to retain the Galaxian title.
The supercard provided several great matches as well as some other memorable moments . . . Enigma and Prodigy put on a great aerial display . . . Chaos was dominant against W. A. R. in a three-man tag match . . . Mandrill took just two minutes to beat Buck Steele before he could transform into Genocide . . . The Torture Chamber match between Pulsar and Blazing Skull was amazingly bloody. Both men were helped from the ring after the match . . . For once, Massif did not play a major role in the GWWF title match as Voodoo Queen handled Thrash on her own. The most dramatic moment during the card came when Vector One, who had been a no show at the previous card, appeared in the ring between matches and announced to the galaxy that he was leaving the Gladiator Alliance and joining the CPC’s Executive Order. “Mr. Colby made me an offer I couldn’t refuse,” the War Games singles champion said. “The Gladiators mean nothing to me. Rocket means nothing to me. I go my own way, and now my way is to help the CPC rule this federation.” Vector One was attacked by Vengeance during his match with Pegasus later in the card, but he still managed to win the contest and keep his belt. The final significant announcement of the day came after the card from Mandrill. “I’ve had it with Dark Justice,” the Prime Colonizer said of his temporary War Games teammate. “We brought him in for his experience, but what has he done for us? As of tonight, Dark Justice is no longer a part of our team. I am looking for replacements and will have an announcement soon.” Dark Justice was thus fired from his second team in two years, having been driven out of the Citadel at the 2104 Titan Challenge. The long-time FDF member was unavailable for comment after the card.
USWF REPORT
SCAVENGER, JACKAL DISAPPEAR; AN OLD FRIEND RETURNS A strange series of events began recently in the USWF when Scavenger, a member of the Incredible Badger’s “Untamed Warriors,” failed to make an appearance for a card at the Phobos Sundome. When Scavenger’s unexplained absence continued for several days, the Badger expressed his concern. “I don’t know what’s happening with him,” the manager stated. “I know he’s been upset that we used Crow in the War Games more. But Crow’s in the GWF now, and we really need Scavenger badly. I hope he’s alright and that wherever he is, he comes back soon. “With Silverfang injured, we’re very short handed,” the Badger continued. “We really only have five men at the moment, and we need seven to compete. But I have some ideas. If Scavenger and Silverfang are not with us and ready to go for our next War Games match, I have some other possibilities I’m working on.” Scavenger’s disappearance became even more suspicious when his former tag team partner and current feud enemy Jackal also dropped out of sight. Jackal has spent 2105 as a member of Krakan’s Agents of Fortune. Unlike the Badger, however, Agents team captain Dagger Mack was unconcerned. “I know exactly where Jackal is,” Dagger Mack affirmed. “He’ll be back soon. He has a special assignment right now. If we need him, we’ll call him back.” The two absences seemed unrelated, but the coincidence of two rivals and former partners disappearing at the same time caused great speculation. Many accused Krakan’s team of foul play involving Scavenger, remembering the imprisonment of Fury by Krakan several ago. As the weeks passed, none of the questions were answered and the two wrestlers remained out of sight. True to his word, the Badger brought out two new team members at the Warrior Legion’s next War Games match, which was held at the Rhea Forum against the Imperial Powers. The first newcomer was no major surprise, as the Creeper returned to the USWF again with a loss to High Lord Marlicus. However, when the Badger’s second new addition was announced, the crowd was stunned. Into the ring to face Captain Dalcost walked the Badger’s long-time partner, Ram, who had been missing for seven months since being fired by Mandrill and the Colonizers in the GWF. Ram eventually lost to Dalcost in a great match, but his presence inspired the Warrior Legion to its first War Games win of the year. On the following card, a War Games match between the Legion and the Star Union, the Badger made another switch. This time he sent the Creeper back to the GWF and put himself on the roster. This in itself was no surprise, as the Badger has activated himself when needed in the War Games in previous years. However, the Badger did not enter himself in a singles match as usual; instead, he and Ram reformed the Animal Pack and faced off against the Uptown Express. Ram fought most of the match, which ended in a stunning DQ win for the Animen and helped the Warrior Legion to its second straight War Games win. “It’s good to have Ram back,” Badger stated after the card. “As for myself, I’m only wrestling until Silverfang rejoins us or Scavenger shows up. For a night or so, though, teaming with Ram again is like the old days. This was a lot of fun.”

GWF 2105 Highlights
From WPU 8.6
KRAKAN ISSUES A CHALLENGE The Invincible Krakan, still furious at having been attacked by the Draconian Sheik and the Terrorists twice in 2105, issued the following challenge shortly after the Starclash supercard: “I want everyone to pay attention to this. I asked for some kind of match with my men against the Sheik at Starclash, but because the Mercenaries are the tag champs the commissioner scheduled a title defense instead. I’ll tolerate that for Starclash, but no more. The next supercard is the Centaurus Collision. My men are going to get the Sheik there. If Grogan is smart, he’ll put’em all in the ring together. But it don’t matter. If we have to get him in the locker room or the parking lot, that’s fine. I’m giving the commissioner until the next supercard to set it up his way. After that, we do it my way.” Although the Terrorists do not speak directly to the media, they soon issued a response saying that they and the Sheik would be happy to consider the challenge. Commissioner Grogan stated that he would open negotiations immediately, but that he would not allow Krakan to dictate GWF policy or matchmaking.
MANDRILL RECLAIMS GALAXIAN BELT, WILL BATTLE ALPHA FORCE Mandrill the Prime Colonizer became the GWF Heavyweight Champion for the second time this year and the third in his career by defeating Max Shield in a tough match at Fire Island of Mercury on August 4. The title contest, a rematch on the battle in which Shield took the belt from Mandrill less than three weeks earlier, was a closely fought affair that lasted for thirteen minutes. Mandrill maintained control for most of the match, but Shield continued to strike back until the Prime Colonizer finally caught him with a “Colonizer Claw Slam” to score the pin and reclaim the title. Two weeks later, Mandrill engaged in a series of outstanding matches with Alpha Force. Alpha won the first match, a non-title contest, and gained a DQ win in the second when Sentry interfered. In third match, for which Massif was named the special referee, the pair battled for twenty hard-fought minutes, with both coming seconds from victory numerous times, before Mandrill finally retained the belt with a Colonizer Claw Slam. “I’m not gonna complain about this, “Alpha Force stated later. “That was one of the best matches I’ve ever had. In fact, I’ll even compliment Massif for calling it right down the middle. But it was so close it could have gone either way. I think I deserve a rematch, and I want one at the Centaurus Collision.”
SURPRISE RETURN ROCKS GWF The GWF received a warning of dangers to come on an August 15 card at the Iapetus Scope when Mayhem was attacked and battered after his match by a familiar figure wearing a mask and wielding a club. The incident stunned everyone in attendance, as Splatter had been suspended from all GWF events for two years. Iapetus Scope security apprehended Mayhem’s attacker in the dressing room area shortly after the incident. Commissioner Grogan, fuming at the masked lunatic’s return, berated him in front of a crowd of wrestlers, media, and security. “You were warned, you maniac!” Grogan stormed. “You were exiled. Now you’re going to jail. Maybe that will keep you out of our lives.” “You never exiled me,” the masked man replied. “Take my mask off. Go on, do it! I’m not who you think I am.” Uncertainly, Grogan reached out and pulled the mask off the captive. Underneath was another familiar face who had not been seen in the GWF since Starclash, three weeks earlier: Dark Justice, who had disappeared after being fired by Mandrill following his loss at the last supercard. “You?” Grogan stammered. “What’s this all about?” “I’m sick of the way I’ve been treated,” Dark Justice replied. “By the Aethrans, by Commander Sam, by everyone, and especially by Chaos and Mandrill. I’m taking Splatter’s place. There’s a new lottery, and I’m gonna get revenge on everybody who betrayed me in the past.” The obviously disturbed Dark Justice was released after a further exchange with the commissioner. However, true to his word, he continued his attacks on the following cards, eventually managing to injure GWF champion Mandrill just two weeks before the Centaurus Collision. Mandrill announced his intention of competing at the event despite a deep shoulder bruise. Dark Justice was suspended for his actions.
CENTAURUS COLLISION SUPERCARD NOTES In the main event, Alpha Force pounded Mandrill to win the Galaxian Heavyweight Title in just four minutes. Alpha's upset win gave him his seventh Galaxian title reign but his first since losing the belt to Chaos in May of 2098, over seven years ago. Alpha roared out of the corner to begin the match, knocking Mandrill down immediately and then nailing him with a “Tomahawk Thrust.” Sentry, Hurricane, and Skyfire tried to interfere to save Mandrill, but they were prevented by Star Warrior, Pegasus, and Colossus. Alpha then snapped on an Indian Death Lock and claimed the victory. The biggest news of the day, however, was not Alpha Force’s great victory but two ugly incidents that caused matches to be thrown out. First, as the Draconian Sheik prepared to place Jack of Diamonds in a “Draconian Backbreaker,” Krakan and the Mercenaries stormed the ring, knocked out the Sheik, and then attacked the Terrorists, eventually pulling off their victims’ masks and revealing them to be Ghengis Khan and Marcel de Sade. Krakan’s men then hammered the Terrorists until Mayhem and Brymstone Burning arrived to drive them away. Nevertheless, the Terrorists had the last word when they attacked the Mercenaries during their GWF tag team title defense against the Gladiators. The champions had just blasted Thunder with an “Operation: Ambush” when the Sheik and the Terrorists struck, knocking out Krakan and leaving both the tag champs and their manager bloody and unconscious in the ring. The Mercenaries were expected to miss at least two weeks of action due to their injuries.

GWF 2105 Highlights
WPU 8.7
VENGEANCE TAKES BELT IN THREE-WAY WAR The Galaxian title has ended up in the hands of Vengeance as the result of a wild three-way battle among a trio of the GWF’s top stars. For two years, the Gladiators of Aethra and the Colonizers of Scorpi have engaged in an ugly war of words. The enmity between the two groups began when they combined forces for the 2103 War Games, after which Vengeance blamed the Colonizers for the team’s lack of success. Mandrill and Vengeance have carried on a subtle but occasionally violent feud since that time. Recently, as the two rivals became the top challengers for Alpha Force’s GWF belt, their mutual dislike rose to the surface. The current hostilities ignited when Alpha Force claimed the Galaxian belt from Mandrill at the Centaurus Collision. Mandrill, who had defended his belt despite an injury, demanded the first opportunity to face the new champion. When Vengeance was granted a title shot at the Andromeda Nebula Pavilion, Mandrill swore that he would not allow the belt to change hands until he had his rematch with Alpha Force. By the end of the evening, he had proven to be true to his word. Alpha Force, who lost the Interplanetary belt to Vengeance in a series of wild matches earlier this year, started the title match quickly and had control in the early going, but Vengeance managed to latch on to the “Eye Cleaver” at around the six minute mark. As the champion began to go down, Hurricane and Skyfire rushed toward the ring. The referee stepped out to intercept the duo to prevent their interference, and as he did so Mandrill entered the ring from behind and blindsided Vengeance with a “Colonizer Claw Slam.” Alpha Force, apparently unaware of the interference, rolled over moments later and pinned the unconscious Vengeance to retain his title. Vengeance protested the decision, and Commissioner Grogan’s solution was to have Vengeance and Mandrill fight each other, with the winner receiving the next title match. In a bloody ten-minute contest, Vengeance emerged as the winner. Mandrill reluctantly agreed to allow a rematch between Alpha Force and Vengeance to take place without interference, with the promise that he would receive a shot at the winner within the month. The championship match between Alpha Force and Vengeance took place this time at the Charon Ice Castle on October 22. Alpha fought gamely in a fifteen minute war, but while the champion controlled much of the action he was seldom able to place his opponent in a pinning situation. Vengeance did most of his damage outside the ring, taking his time and punishing Alpha at every opportunity. When the Aethran finally managed to connect with his “Helter Skelter” finisher, a bloody Alpha Force was unable to escape and Vengeance claimed the belt. Vengeance thus became the Galaxian champion for the second time in his career, the first having come ten years ago in his rookie year of 2096 against Raven. The biggest story, however, may yet be the still burning hostilities among Vengeance, Mandrill, and Alpha Force. The three superstars are the leading candidates for the GWF’s wrestler of the year award for 2105, having dominated both the Galaxian and Interplanetary title pictures and kept their teams near the top of the War Games standings. Their battles are likely to continue throughout the remainder of the year. THUNDER AND OVERKILL END MERCENARIES’ LONG REIGN The impressive GWF tag team title reign of the Mercenaries came to an end at the Luna Auditorium on October 24 at the hands of Thunder and Overkill. The Mercenaries, believed to be past their prime by many observers, established themselves as the front-runners for the tag team of the year award with a surprising three month, fourteen defense title reign while under the pressure of War Games conditions. Their stint as champions was the longest since the New Order managed fourteen defenses in 2101. Even in defeat, the Mercenaries were impressive. The Gladiators took control early, but when Vigilante was hurt Soldier of Fortune came in and nearly pinned Overkill. The Mercenaries continued their assault and bloodied the Aethran strongman before Thunder finally reentered the match. Still the Mercenaries fought back, coming seconds from victory two more times before Overkill finally leveled Vigilante with a “Turnbuckle Trap” and pinned him for the win. The Gladiators thus claimed the tag team belts for the second time in 2105 and the sixth in their careers. Krakan accompanied the Mercenaries to ringside, but his mobility has been hindered because of the neck brace he has worn since being attacked by the Terrorists and the Draconian Sheik at the Centaurus Collision. Krakan expects to have the brace removed by the end of the year.
TITAN CHALLENGE 2105 ANNOUNCEMENTS, SURPRISE GUEST NEARLY OVERSHADOW CARD[/size] AETHRAN COMMAND GIVES IN TO GWF DEMANDS After over a year of debate, the High Command of Aethra has agreed to the demands of the GWF regarding the status of Predator, Mayhem, Thunder, and Overkill. Thakur made the announcement at a press conference on the morning of the Titan Challenge. “The High Command still considers all renegade Aethrans to be traitors,” Thakur declared. “This includes not only the GWF wrestlers in question, but Blitz and Scar in the USWF. However, the Command has decided that we can find better ways to deal with these men in the ring. The important issue for us now is the reinstatement of the War Dome Warfare supercard. In return for assurances that War Dome Warfare will resume next year, we are prepared to issue legal written documents guaranteeing that no GWF or USWF wrestler will be apprehended or harassed by Aethran authorities when performing on Aethra. We will waive all legal proceedings and guarantee the safe passage of the all wrestlers involved. We expect to finalize the terms of this agreement with the GWF by the end of 2105.”
DARK JUSTICE TO RECEIVE PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION In mid-afternoon, a very serious Commissioner Grogan appeared with Commissioner Jim Powell of the USWF. “You all know what Dark Justice has been doing,” Grogan said. “He’s injured Rising Sun. He’s knocked out Mayhem twice now. He may have cost Mandrill the Galaxian title. He put Titanius out of USWF action indefinitely. Now we are told that the Turk of Taldra IV’s career may be over after Justice attacked him last week. Commissioner Powell and I have both had enough. “As of right now, Dark Justice is indefinitely suspended from both the GWF and USWF. He will not be reinstated until he agrees to undergo a psychiatric examination and is cleared by the examining physician. At the least, he is out for the remainder of 2105. We will give you an update when he completes the examination.”
ROCKET UNVEILS HIS PRIZE Johnny Rocket called his press conference just one hour before the Titan Challenge was to begin. Appearing with him on stage was a tall, handsome, powerfully built man in a dark suit. “What a great surprise I have,” Rocket grinned. “Ladies and gentlemen of the press, I want to introduce the next great star of the GWF: Paragon. At Starclash I told you he’d be arriving to join the Rocket Men next year, but he decided to attend the card tonight. He’s not giving any interviews. He’s still under contract in the WGX for the rest of this year, so he can’t wrestle. But as you can see, he’s here and he’s with me. Tonight he’ll observe and evaluate the competition. Next year our domination begins.”
TITAN CHALLENGE 2105 HIGHLIGHTS Mace emerged as the winner of the fifth annual GWF/USWF Inter-Federation battle royal. Order of elimination was as follows: Cougar Claw by Big Daddy Steel, Big Daddy Steel by Mammoth, Painmaster by Buck Steele, Manslaughter by Jason the Canadian Bomber, Gorthanor by Terminus and Pathfinder, Jason the Canadian Bomber by Pathfinder, Mammoth by the Barbaric Destroyer, Sir Garis of Condrell by Death’s Head, Vyper by Dagger Mack, Silverfang by Death’s Head, Buck Steele by Vendetta, Wraith by Mace, Vendetta by Mace, Ram by Death’s Head, Death’s Head by Pathfinder, Barbaric Destroyer by Terminus, Terminus by Mace, Dagger Mack by Pathfinder, Pathfinder by Mace. In the main event, USWF Champion High Lord Marlicus pinned GWF Champion Vengeance after a “Divine Conquest” to win the Commissioner’s Cup for the USWF. Rocket’s “guest,” Paragon, watched the card without incident or comment.
COLONIZERS FIGHT BACK TO THE TOP The Colonizers of Scorpi, winners of the 2104 GWF War Games, hold a slim lead over the Citadel of the Elite as the 2105 Games approach their conclusion. The Colonizers are seeking to become the first team ever to win the War Games in consecutive years. The 2105 Games will be the first since 2102 to extend beyond the Titan Challenge supercard. Commissioner Grogan has announced special cards at Fire Island, the Rhea Forum, and the Io Coliseum in November to allow the Games to reach their goal of a 200 point winning total.
This year’s War Games continue to be one of the closest overall battles ever. The surprising Masked Assassins remain in contention, tied with the Star Defenders for third place and just six points behind the leaders, but the recent loss of Enigma and the Ninja Assassins to a suspension may have finally ended their chances.
USWF REPORT
MARLICUS ATTACKS POWELL’S DECISIONS USWF Champion High Lord Marlicus has openly accused Commissioner Jim Powell of favoritism after Powell maneuvered a match between Marlicus and Wrath for the USWF title. The situation arose when Wrath appeared to have Marlicus defeated in a non-title match and was attacked by Captain Dalcost and Gorthanor. Commissioner Powell suspended Marlicus and his followers, but shortened the champion’s suspension and ordered a title match against Wrath at the Altair Crystal Palace immediately after the High Lord’s suspension ended and before Dalcost and Gorthanor were allowed to rejoin the federation. Marlicus managed a close victory over Wrath in the match at the Crystal Palace. After the card, however, Tirrion Astri made the following statement on behalf of the champion: “Commissioner Powell clearly manipulated circumstances to put the High Lord at a disadvantage on tonight’s card. Wrath never pinned Marlicus in the non-title match. He therefore did not deserve a title shot at any time, much less when the High Lord was denied the support of his teammates. This was blatant favoritism, and the High Lord is asking the USWF advisory board to investigate and to consider the removal of this biased commissioner from office.” Commissioner Powell’s reaction was one of disgust. “Astri knows very well that Wrath had that non-title match won,” he stated. “The outside interference of the Imperial Powers tried to deny Wrath the opportunity he had earned. I just did what I thought was fair. Last year it was the CPC accusing me. Now it’s Marlicus. They should all just focus more on winning their matches cleanly.”
DARK JUSTICE KNOCKS OUT THE TURK The Turk of Taldra IV became the latest victim of Dark Justice as the GWF star committed another USWF locker room attack while under suspension from the GWF. Earlier this year Dark Justice committed a similar act against Rising Sun. The Turk suffered a concussion and a broken kneecap. He is expected to miss the remainder of 2105. Commissioner Powell immediately suspended Dark Justice from the USWF for the rest of the year.
GWWF Report SUPERNOVA WINS BELT AT TITAN CHALLENGE COMMISSIONER GUILE BLASTS MASSIF Supernova became the GWWF champion for the second time with a controversial victory over her arch-rival Voodoo Queen at the GWF’s Titan Challenge Supercard.
Supernova, who was accompanied to ringside by her brother, Star Warrior, dominated the champion throughout the match. After just three minutes Voodoo Queen was knocked down and covered, but she was saved by Massif’s slow count. At this point Star Warrior began yelling insistently at the referee, urging him to call the match fairly for the sake of their old friendship.
Supernova soon had the champion in a pinning situation again. Massif’s count seemed more normal, but he did nothing to prevent Cassandra from interfering in the match and saving Voodoo Queen again. Thanks to the interference, the champion was able to take a brief advantage, but Supernova roared back with a “Speed of Light.” Massif again seemed to pause in his count, but he finally reached three and handed the belt to Supernova.
GWWF Commissioner Reynard B. Guile immediately stormed into the ring to protest, claiming that he was overturning the decision and disqualifying Voodoo Queen due to Cassandra’s interference, thus allowing her to keep the belt. Massif simply sneered at the commissioner and walked away. Guile continued his protest, but Star Warrior and Supernova had already left with the belt.
Afterward, Guile and Massif exchanged insults through the media. However, CPC CEO Magnus Colby put an end to the feuding the next day. “Massif has been an outstanding referee for years,” Colby stated. “He clearly made a mistake yesterday. However, on behalf of Voodoo Queen, the CPC accepts the decision. We will, of course, demand a rematch, but we will not issue a complaint against Massif.”
However, Guile’s attempts to overturn the decision may have backfired. The GWWF board of directors is said to be reviewing the commissioner’s performance and considering replacing him in light of his year-long favoritism of the CPC. However, as Colby controls most of the votes on the GWWF board, no decision on Guile’s removal is guaranteed.

GWF 2105 Highlights
From WPU 8.8
DEFENDERS WIN 2105 WAR GAMES The Defenders of the Galaxy completed a stunning comeback to claim first place in the GWF’s 2105 War Games competition.
The Defenders never led in the Games until the final two cards. The conclusion of the competition took place at the Ceres Amphitheater, with the Defenders entering the final evening with 198 points, two short of the total needed for victory but just one ahead of the defending champions, the Colonizers of Scorpi. Pegasus was out of action with a serious injury, and Alpha Force was under suspension, leaving the Defenders at a disadvantage. For the Colonizers, Skyfire was also suspended. Commissioner Grogan placed all eligible wrestlers for both leading teams in matches at the end of the card. Hurricane started the night for the Colonizers, but he was defeated in a cage match by Ravage. Painmaster then overcame Stargazer, but because he won by disqualification the Colonizers still did not receive a War Games point. Colossus, who insisted on competing despite a badly sprained knee, was beaten by Malice, leaving the Defenders still at 198 points. Mandrill then pinned Max Shield, giving the Colonizers a one point lead going into the final match, a non-title contest between GWF tag team champions Thunder and Overkill of the Defenders and War Games tag champs Rebel Empire of the Colonizers. The tag team main event was refereed by Bounty Hunter, and it was a classic. Both teams connected with their finishers in the first five minutes but were unable to score the pin. Vendetta took a brutal beating at the hands of the Gladiators, but he was repeatedly saved by his teammates until Bounty Hunter finally knocked Sentry unconscious. Finally, after over twenty minutes, Overkill splashed Vendetta and covered him for the pin, giving the Defenders the War Games victory with a total of 201 points. Alpha Force and Pegasus both earned their third War Games Rings, Alpha having been a member of the Defenders’ winning squads in 2093 and 2102, and Pegasus having won with the Defenders in 2102 and with the Citadel of the Elite in 2098. Colossus received his second ring, the first having come in 2102, while Thunder, Overkill , and Stargazer won for the first time. Star Warrior and Thantos claimed their fourth and second rings respectively and their first as managers. “This was a huge win for us,” Star Warrior stated later. “It legitimizes both me and Thantos as managers. We had a heck of a fight. The Colonizers were great, and I thought that last match would never end. But I’m happy for all of our men. It wasn’t easy, but we did it.” Thunder had his own view of the victory. “I hope this sends a message to Vengeance and Thakur,” he stated. “They didn’t like it when Overkill and me joined up with Thantos. This shows what a great manager he is, and it proves we’re winners, too.”
Commissioner Grogan created a substantial stir when he reinstated Prodigy and Theater of Pain after just one week of a five week suspension. All three wrestlers rejoined Penthouse Suite and continued to compete in the War Games. “I made a mistake,” the commissioner explained. “After further reviewing the tapes of the incident for which they were suspended, I decided that I had been too harsh. I was only correcting my own error. I don’t understand why everyone is so upset about it.”
SURPRISE SPLIT IN CPC Shortly after the end of the War Games, Doomsayer announced that he and the members of his “Executive Order” group would be saying a formal farewell to a team member. Most observers assumed that he was referring to Vector One, who indeed returned to Dimension X immediately after the end of the Games. However, the reality turned out to be quite different.
Midway through a card at the Umbriel Skydome on November 26, Doomsayer led Dreadnaught, Monad, Kati, and U. S. Patriot to the ring. Earlier on the card, the Patriot had returned from missing two weeks with an injury by defeating Brainstorm, and Kati was schedule to fight later in the evening. Doomsayer stood in the center of the ring and addressed the crowd.
“We are here to say goodbye to one of our team members,” Doomsayer began. “During the War Games, he did almost nothing for us. In fact, since he joined the team, he has been ineffective. With Mr. Colby’s approval, I am ready to officially dismiss him.”
Doomsayer then turned to U. S. Patriot, who was already looking confused by his manager’s words. “For two years you’ve been useless,” Doomsayer continued. “You cost us War Games points over and over. We’re tired of it. You’re fired. This is goodbye.”
Suddenly Dreadnaught clotheslined the Patriot from behind. Monad and Kati then joined Dreadnaught in stomping their former teammate into the mat. Ms. Liberty ran from the locker room area to the ring, but she was restrained by Doomsayer while her husband was being pummeled. Finally the CPC members left the Patriot bleeding in the ring, with Ms. Liberty sobbing for help over him.
Although no one came to the Patriot’s defense during the attack, Commander Sam expressed some harsh opinions later. “I guess you get what you earn,” he stated. “This should show Adam what kind of people he’s been hanging around with. I know, I made my share of mistakes, too. But we all have to wake up sooner or later. If the FDF had been in the arena during this attack, we’d have stopped it, but Jack of Diamonds and I hadn’t arrived yet. But that just would have been for old time’s sake. Maybe this is what Adam needed to wake him up. I hope so.”
THAKUR SHOWS HIS HAND; KRAKAN, MERCENARIES OUT OF ACTION An unexpected reunion took place on December 7 at the Triton Pavilion. When it was over, Thakur the Oppressor had placed himself and his team back into GWF prominence and Krakan’s Deadly Militia was indefinitely sidelined.
The incident began after a title match between GWF tag team champions Thunder and Overkill and the Mercenaries. Surprisingly, the champions rather than the challengers had requested the match. The Gladiators won the contest handily, knocking out Vigilante and then pinning Soldier of Fortune.
After the bell, Vengeance and Malice, the former teammates of the tag team champions before a breakup at the beginning of this year, ran to the ring along with their leader Thakur and attacked the Mercenaries. Thakur produced two pairs of handcuffs with which the Mercenaries were locked to the ring ropes. The Aethrans then surrounded Krakan as Vengeance picked up a microphone.
“It’s time to pay, Krakan,” Vengeance grinned evilly. “You didn’t really think we’d be satisfied with just beating you in Sudden Death and getting the Jester exiled, did you? When you signed Mayhem away from us, you asked for a war. You’re about to find out that you can’t win a war against Aethra.”
The carnage that followed was sickening. Krakan had only recently removed the neckbrace that he had worn since being brutalized by the Draconian Sheik and the Terrorists in mid-September, and now he was subjected to repeated Gladiator Piledrivers from Malice and Overkill. As the Mercenaries struggled against their handcuffs, they too were beaten by all five Aethrans. No one made any attempt to come to Krakan’s aid for several minutes, until finally Archon, Jack of Diamonds, Max Shield, and Buck Steele arrived to drive Thakur and his men out of the ring.
The Mercenaries both suffered injures that were expected to keep them out of action until 2106. Vigilante was the victim of especially severe knee damage. However, it was Krakan himself who took the brunt of the attack with injuries to his neck, head, and spine.
Surprisingly, Commissioner Grogan did not suspend the Aethrans for their actions. “I don’t want to suggest that Krakan deserved this,” Grogan explained. “But this is no worse than what he did when he and his men crippled Reynard B. Guile two years ago. It’s no worse than what was done to Fury, to Commander Sam, to Dragonmaster, and to all of the others Krakan has attacked over the years. I am sorry to see this, but it’s a case of the chickens coming home to roost. Krakan can settle his own battles when he’s well enough.”
The Aethrans were jubilant in the aftermath of their triumph. “We’re all back together now,” Vengeance gloated. “Thunder and Overkill have their War Games rings, and now they’re back where they belong. No one can stand against a united Aethran team. Now we’re united again, and Thakur has negotiated the return of the War Dome Warfare supercard to Aethra. Things are back as they should be, and we can go about our business of taking care of Predator, Mayhem, and the other Aethrans who have defied us.”
Overlooked in the wake of the incident is the fact that when the attack began, Thantos, who managed Thunder and Overkill to the tag team titles, simply walked away from the ring. He did not join in the assault, but he also did not oppose it. Thantos has not been seen at a GWF event since that evening.
PARAGON CHALLENGES CHAOS AT GALACTICADE Johnny Rocket called a press conference on December 10 to issue a startling challenge on behalf of Paragon.
“You all know that Paragon is planning to join the Rocket Men in 2106,” Rocket stated. “I am pleased to announce that he has freed himself from his WGX contract earlier than anticipated. He therefore wishes to begin his GWF career at Galacticade X against the man whom he intends to humble, Chaos. Let’s just see if Chaos has the guts to accept.”
Chaos immediately issued a statement that he would accept any match Paragon named. However, the GWF office also received an almost immediate message from Dimension X stating that Paragon’s contract is in effect until the end of 2105 and that he could not legally wrestle at Galacticade.
“Leave the details to me,” Commissioner Grogan stated to the press. “I’ve seen Paragon’s contract and heard his position. All I’ll tell you is that I’m satisfied. I’m going ahead in scheduling this match. The fans want it, the wrestlers want it, so let’s get it done, no matter what the WGX says.”
GALACTICADE X Galacticade 2105 marked the tenth anniversary of the creation of the event, which is held annually on earth and has concluded every GWF year since 2096. The card itself takes place on the evening after the annual awards banquet at the Los Angeles Sports Arena on Earth. As always, the 2105 event was a sellout with over 80,000 spectators in attendance, including many former GWF stars.
The main event for Galacticade X was set to be a Galaxian title match between GWF champion Vengeance and his arch-rival, Raven. The GWF tag team champs Thunder and Overkill also agreed to put their belts up against Rebel Empire. However, perhaps the most anticipated contest of the evening was the meeting of Chaos and Paragon for the first time since Chaos left Dimension X in 2092.
GALACTICADE X HIGHLIGHTS Terminus hammered Vyper in a cage match Voodoo Queen caught Supernova with a “Queen’s Curse” to regain the GWWF title The Matador of M83 beat Mayhem by DQ Buck Steele pounded Painmaster in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match Prodigy claimed the cruiserweight title with a win over Rising Sun Blazing Skull topped Archon with a “Skull Head Crack” with Massif as the referee The Stormtroopers stunned the New Order to win the Interplanetary Tag Belts Colossus pinned Predator with a “Cyborg Deathblow” to win the Interplanetary Title Malice blasted Max Shield with a “Fields of Malice” in a Turnbuckle Shock Match Chaos failed to appear for his match against Paragon Alpha Force nailed Mandrill with an “Alpha Strike” in a Castor Chain Match Thunder and Overkill retained their GWF tag team titles with a win over Rebel Empire GWF champion Vengeance and Raven fought to a double DQ due to outside interference
GALACTICADE X WRAP-UP: CHAOS OUT-MANEUVERED Many exciting moments took place during the GWF’s tenth Galacticade, including four title changes, but none was more significant than the fallout of the Paragon versus Chaos match. Paragon came to the ring first, accompanied by Johnny Rocket. When Chaos was introduced, however, he did not appear for over a minute. When the giant from Dimension X finally emerged from the locker room, he was in a rage.
“Where is it?” Chaos shouted at Paragon. “Give it back now!”
“What are you talking about?” Paragon asked calmly. “Where is what?”
“The Alpha Stone!” Chaos demanded. “You have to be the one behind this. Where is it?”
Unexpectedly, Mesmer strolled out to ringside. “Now stay calm, Chaos,’ he smiled condescendingly. “Where did you leave your stone last?”
“You stay out of this,” Chaos warned, still shouting. “Scourge was supposed to be guarding it like he always does. Now I can’t find it or him.”
“Scourge?” Mesmer replied, still smiling. “I told you a few months ago not to trust him. But I knew you wouldn’t listen. My warnings just drew attention away from what he was really doing. The truth is that Scourge has been on Mr. Colby’s payroll all year. His job was to make sure that you didn’t win the War Games or the Galaxian title while we put all of our plans in place. By now he’s probably halfway back to Dimension X--with your stone!”
With another shout of anger, Chaos sprinted out of the ring and toward the back of the arena, obviously intent on following Scourge. Mesmer then stepped into the ring with the smiling Paragon and Rocket.
“I never thought I’d be on your side,” Rocket grinned. “But this was a great scam. Why didn’t you tell me sooner? Was Paragon in on it from the beginning?”
“Paragon was in on everything,” Mesmer answered. “And now we have one more surprise. Paragon, do the honors.”
Without saying a word, Paragon turned to his new manager, Rocket. He stared at Rocket for a moment, then grabbed him by the throat and choke-slammed him.
“That should answer any further questions,” Mesmer continued into the ring microphone. “As you can all see, Paragon will be joining the GWF next year, but not as a member of the Rocket Men. He never signed a contract with Rocket. You are looking at the newest member of Penthouse Suite.”
Mesmer and Paragon then left the ring together, with Rocket still lying unconscious behind them. They left the arena without answering questions.
Another major incident occurred in the locker room area after Mace and Dreggs lost the Interplanetary Tag Team titles to the Stormtroopers. Mace and Destructon 3000 engaged in a heated exchange as Mace blamed the manager for the loss. After the card, Destructon issued the following statement:
“I have tried for years to help W.A.R. in every way possible. However, Mace seems to believe that we need a new direction, and even Dreggs is siding with him. Raven and Predator have simply told me to do what I think is best. Therefore, I am resigning as the manager of W. A. R., effective immediately. I am leaving the GWF. If Mace thinks he can lead the team better than I did, now is his chance.”
“Let him go,” Mace responded later. “We don’t need him anymore. We’ll be back on top next year or it’ll mean more changes. I’m sick of losing, and we’re gonna fix things one way or another.”
In other Galacticade X notes, the contest between Raven and Vengeance for the Galaxian belt ended in a double DQ when members of both W. A. R. and the Gladiators got involved. A rematch will be scheduled for early 2106 . . . Colossus dominated Predator in the Interplanetary title match . . . Malice was devastating in his win over Max Shield . . . Thantos did not appear at either the GWF awards banquet or at the supercard. His whereabouts remain unknown.
USWF Report
CENTER STAGE SPECTACULAR III The third annual USWF Center Stage Spectacular event was held on December 10, 2105 at Jupiter’s Callisto Centroplex. A sellout crowd of more than 53,000 was on hand for the event, which is the last card of the USWF year. Various guests from the GWF attended the card as spectators, including Omega, Pegasus, Wolf, Magnus Colby, Commander Sam, Jason the Canadian Bomber, Ursa Major, Lord Nexus, Vertigo, and Predator. GWWF Commissioner Reynard B. Guile was also in the audience.
The main event for the evening was a USWF classic, High Lord Marlicus against Black Hawk for the USWF Heavyweight title. Black Hawk earned the match with a recent non-title win over the champion. CENTER STAGE SPECTACULAR III HIGHLIGHTS Jackal downed the Mad Jester by DQ The Ivy League overcame Alien Assault when Salitir Palgin was counted out Bloodbath slammed Gorthanor with a “Lamb to Slaughter” Stormfront dominated the Uptown Express Ram pounded Ravage in a cage match The Barbaric Destroyer blasted Mammoth with a “Barbarian Bomb” Bishop Hell destroyed Stargazer in a Torture Chamber match Pormak Landiron beat Big Daddy Steel with a “Cosmic Clamp” Toltecas defeated Maccavity by DQ to retain the USWF Cruiserweight title Singer of Tales upset Splatter in a Hitman Match Unknown Soldier took less than two minutes to pin Violator Pathfinder blasted Crazy Horse with a “Ceres Crunch” in a Turnbuckle Shock Match Homicide pinned Guthlac with a “DOA” to regain the Interstellar title Armageddon hammered Eternal Damnation in a match with Billy Jo Boxer as the referee Lycanthrope survived over Dagger Mack in a Barbed Wire Cage match Rebellion ended the incredible tag team title reign of the Star Patrol High Lord Marlicus pinned Black Hawk to hold on to the USWF Heavyweight title
Center Stage Spectacular Wrap-Up The biggest news of the night was obviously Rebellion ending the amazing nineteen month, 63 defense tag team title reign of the Star Patrol. The champions controlled most of the match, but as Blitz was knocked down by the Galactic Trooper and covered at the nine minute mark, Scar came in to make the save and a brawl erupted between the two teams. In the confusion, Blitz recovered, knocked out the Trooper, and pinned him for the victory. Rebellion thus claimed the tag belts for the third time in their young careers, but due to the circumstances of their loss the Star Patrol immediately began calling for a rematch.
For the first time in its three years, the supercard did not end in an all-out brawl, but it did have many interesting moments. One of the most significant may have occurred after the tag team match between Stormfront and the Uptown Express. Skyfire and Hurricane spent most of the year as GWF Interplanetary tag team champions, but they fought in the USWF for the last few weeks of 2105 due to a GWF suspension of Skyfire. After their victory, Magnus Colby appeared at ringside with a contract in hand and offered it to Stormfront. Before the wrestlers could react, Cannibal, Hurricane’s former mentor and the current bodyguard for Krakan’s Agents of Fortune, marched to the ring and offered Stormfront a spot on Krakan’s USWF team. Hurricane and Skyfire hesitated for a few seconds, then turned and left the ring without accepting either offer. Neither of them would comment on the situation after the card.
Another unexpected moment took place after the Barbaric Destroyer defeated Mammoth. The Destroyer continued his assault after the bell, apparently intending to injure his long-time rival. When King Colerain, the Destroyer’s manager, entered the ring to try to calm him down, the Destroyer attacked Colerain. Only the intervention of Singer of Tales and Guthlac saved the King from injury. The Destroyer, who has been one of the hottest wrestlers in the federation recently, left the ring alone. His status with the Warband for 2106 is uncertain at this time.
With his father watching from the audience, Lycanthrope may have finally established himself as a main-event draw with his brutal win over Dagger Mack. Lycanthrope simply refused to quit against one of the most dangerous men in the USWF.
Guthlac’s first Interstellar title reign was short-lived as he lost the belt back to Homicide. However, the youngest member of the Warband is clearly on the road to great things in his career after his fine performances in 2104 and 05. Homicide now begins his third Interstellar title reign.
With Crazy Horse losing to Pathfinder and Black Hawk failing to win the USWF Heavyweight title from High Lord Marlicus, as well as the Star Patrol’s loss, it was a bad day for the Star Defenders. However, their manager, Lance At-las, took the losses in stride.
“You have days like this sometimes,” Lance stated. “I mostly feel badly for the Star Patrol losing their belts, but their run had to end sometime. We’ll all be back next year. We’ll have our chances again. Toltecas still has his belt, and in 2106 the rest of our team will show everyone that we’re still the measuring stick in the USWF.”

SURPRISE DEVELOPMENT AT GWWF BANQUET The third annual GWWF annual awards banquet was held on December 15, 2105 at the Galactic Convention Hall on Ceres. All members of the women’s federation attended the event. Also present for the evening were GWF Commissioner Grogan, USWF Commissioner Jim Powell, Omega, Thakur, Wolf, Pegasus, Alpha Force, Lord Nexus, Star Warrior, Magnus Colby, Sonora Pelf, and various other GWF and USWF figures. GWWF Commissioner Reynard B. Guile began the festivities by welcoming everyone to the banquet. “This is going to be an exciting evening,” Guile stated. “We have a wonderful event planned. I especially want to thank Mr. Magnus Colby and Ms. Sonora Pelf for being here. Their support has meant more to the GWWF than any of us can say.” Commissioner Guile then presented the following awards:
Wrestler of the Year: Voodoo Queen Although she received a great deal of help from both Guile and special referee Massif, the CPC member did have a 17-8 record and held the GWWF championship for five months.
Tag Team of the Year: Black Widow and Kianyra The surprise winners of this award are the current GWWF tag team champions and had an impressive 12-7 record.
As he read the tag team of the year award results, Commissioner Guile’s face went red with anger. “This is a mistake,” he fumed. “The Enchantresses were supposed to win this award. I’m overruling . . .”
“You’ll overrule nothing,” said a voice from offstage. Out walked Torin Caelum, the commissioner of the GWWF in 2103 and 2104.
“You? What do you want here?” Guile snapped.
“Well, I don’t want your job, but I’m taking over this evening anyway,” Caelum replied. “I’m here with the authority of the GWWF board of directors. After reviewing your performance this year, they have decided to remove you from your office, effective immediately. I will take over as interim commissioner for the rest of the year.”
“But you can’t do that,” Guile sputtered. “Mr. Colby, please do something!”
“Relax, Reynard,” Magnus Colby stated with surprising tranquillity. “The board has spoken. I’ll have to find something else for you to do. Now let Mr. Caelum take over.”
Guile marched angrily off stage. Caelum then addressed the audience.
“I’m sorry for the interruption, folks,” he said. “As a first order of business, I want to address Voodoo Queen’s challenge of Supernova for the GWWF title at Galacticade. I am going to uphold the match. However, I am removing Massif as the referee. This time, we’ll have a fair fight for the belt.”

GWF 2106 Highlights
WPU 9.1
GALAXY CUP 2106 The GWF began its 2106 campaign with the Galaxy Cup tournaments at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena. The annual press conferences at which teams announce their rosters for the upcoming year were held in the two days immediately prior to the tournaments.
GALAXY CUP PRESS CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS
GLADIATORS START WITH A SURPRISE The Gladiators of Aethra opened the 2106 team press conferences with a stunning announcement. Thakur the Oppressor spoke for the group. He was joined on stage by his reunited team of Vengeance, Malice, Thunder, Overkill, and Thrash. “Last year, our team was divided,” Thakur began. “In December, Thunder and Overkill came back where they belong. We have the War Dome Warfare supercard back. Everything has been improving for the Gladiators of Aethra for several months. Now I want to continue that progress by introducing the two newest members of our GWF team. “Our first new member is a familiar face,” Thakur continued. “He has been in the GWF for many years. Last year he led Thunder and Overkill to their first War Games rings. Now he has agreed to serve as manager for our entire team. I present to you the only non-Aethran we respect enough to welcome as a leader: Thantos!” This announcement stunned everyone in attendance. Thantos walked out onto the stage and shook hands with everyone present, though Vengeance, the leader of the GWF Gladiators, seemed less than enthusiastic about the arrangement. However, the biggest news was yet to come. “Our final team member is also someone you will recognize,” Thakur smiled. “He deserted us, but he had his worst year ever in 2105. Now he has come back and asked to rejoin our team. We have accepted him on a probationary basis. Welcome back to the Gladiators of Aethra--Mayhem!” Mayhem marched onto the stage, looking as angry as disgruntled as ever. Then Thantos took the microphone. “We have one more order of business today,” the new Gladiator manager stated. “Krakan, these men almost killed you last year. Now we hear you’re back. Don’t show up for your press conference. If you do, you’ll never walk again.”
PATRIOT RETURNS TO THE FOLD The Federation Defense Fighters followed the Gladiator press conference by welcoming back a former team member of their own. Commander Sam took the stage first, with Jack of Diamonds and Jason the Canadian Bomber standing behind him. “This is really a great day for us,” Sam began. “The FDF has had a lot of problems in the last few years. We even disbanded for a while. Today we complete the reformation of our group by welcoming back one of our most familiar members. Come on out, Adam.” U. S. Patriot, once known as Adam Blast, stepped out onto the stage, followed by Ms. Liberty. Sam handed him the microphone. “I want to thank Sam, Jason, and Jack for giving me another chance,” the Patriot said. “We’ve talked a lot in the past month. I doubt if they completely trust me right now. I made some bad decisions, and I know I still have to pay for them. But I’m back, and I’ll do all I can to put the FDF back on top.” Commander Sam took back the microphone. “We’re going to start by putting the Rocket Men in their place,” he stated. “To do so, Jason and Adam are reforming their tag-team, the 31st Airborne, But we also have business with the CPC’s Executive Order, and not just for what they did to Adam. Doomsayer and I have been fighting each other for a long time, and it’s not over for us by a long shot.”
ROCKET MAKES AN OFFER The Rocket Men press conference began calmly, with Johnny Rocket accompanied to the stage by Grunge, Sleeze, Brainstorm, Maxine, and Darla. By the time it ended, however, Rocket had found a new way to shake up the federation.
“As you can all see, Brainstorm has decided to rejoin the Rocket Men after two years away,” Rocket announced. “He made major improvements in 2105, and he is ready to be a star in this federation. And as for the FDF, bring it on. Grunge and Sleeze will handle your wanna-be tag team. But what I want to talk about is Paragon . . .”
“So do I!” declared the deep voice of Chaos, who walked out onto the stage followed by Heracles and Skinhead. “You brought him in here. You’re the one who caused all of my trouble.” “Now wait a minute, big man,” Rocket stammered. “Let’s talk about this. I’m as mad as you are.” “I doubt that,” Chaos snapped. “I lost the Alpha Stone. I lost my bodyguard. And I was made to look like a fool. And you laughed at it all.” “I had nothing to do with you losing the stone. And I apologize for the way I acted. Believe me, I’m sorry now for trying to bring Paragon in. He and Mesmer used me. I’ll help you against them any way I can.” Chaos almost laughed, something most of the press had never seen before. “What can you possibly do to help me?” he asked. “Well, it’s a little early for this, but let’s think about the War Games,” Rocket replied. “You need a tag team. Grunge and Sleeze are the best. And I could help out at ringside for your men, too.” “Hey, that’s not a bad idea, Chaos,” Skinhead broke in. “These guys are tough. I know, ‘cause I’ve fought them enough. This could work.” Chaos glowered for a moment. “I don’t know if I like this, but we’ll discuss it,” he said finally. “But you watch your step, Rocket. You may still have to answer for bringing my enemy here.” Chaos and his men left the stage together. The Rocket Men ended their press conference, but the rest of it did not matter. If Rocket convinces Chaos to join forces with him, their combined team could be a favorite in the 2106 War Games.
DEFENDERS OF THE GALAXY IN TURMOIL Star Warrior led the Defenders of the Galaxy onstage for their press conference. Following him were Colossus, Alpha Force, Pegasus, and Supernova. Surprisingly, all of the team members appeared slightly agitated. “We had a great year last year,” Star Warrior began. “We won the War Games, and both Colossus and Alpha were Galaxian champions. But we also lost a friend when Thantos joined the Gladiators, and Pegasus suffered a number of injuries. This year we need to focus on the positive and keep working to put Chaos and the CPC in their places.” Throughout Star Warrior’s speech, Alpha Force repeatedly threw frowning looks at Pegasus and Supernova. Finally a reporter asked him to explain his expressions. “This is a family matter,” Alpha replied. “We’re a team, and we’ll work as a team. If we do have any problems, I’m not discussing them here.” “Well, I will,” Colossus interrupted. “I got pushed to the backburner too much last year. I was runner up for wrestler of the year, I was Galaxian champion twice, but all anyone talked about was Alpha’s feud with Vengeance and Mandrill. I better start getting a little more attention and respect.” Colossus turned and stalked offstage. His teammates followed, all shaking their heads sadly and with Alpha and Pegasus exchanging uneasy glances. No one had ever seen this dissension in the Defenders before, and one could only wonder where it might lead in 2106.
SURPRISE RETURN FOR W. A. R. While the turmoil in the camps of the Defenders of the Galaxy and the Savage Kingdom was a surprise, everyone knew that W. A. R. had serious problems. The press crops was ready for anything as Raven, Predator, Mace, and Dreggs took the stage. “I guess I’ve been chosen to be the spokesman today,” Raven said as he took the microphone. “As you can see, Destructon 3000 has not changed his mind about leaving the GWF. The four of us have decided to move on without a manager for now.” “We don’t need no manager,” Mace put in. “We need to get serious about bashing Aethrans again.” Raven shook his head. “I guess we’ll find out if we need a manager or not. Personally, I’m sorry to see Destructon go. As for the Gladiators, Mace is right on that one. We may be outnumbered now . . .” “And then again, maybe not,” interrupted a familiar voice. Unexpectedly, Wolf and Amazonia walked out on the stage. “What do you want here?” Mace snapped. Everyone in attendance remembered that Mace’s comments had driven Wolf out of W. A. R. three years ago. “From you, I want nothing,” Wolf barked back. “But if Raven is the leader here, I got a proposition. I never thought I’d come back to this group, but if Mayhem is back with the Gladiators, this is where I belong. And Amazonia comes with me if you want us.” “We don’t need no manager!” Mace stormed. “I don’t want her or you.” “Don’t worry, loudmouth,” Wolf replied angrily. “She’ll back up me, Raven, and Predator. You and Dreggs are on your own.” “Okay, let’s all stay calm,” Raven broke in. “Wolf, we can use your help, and we’ll take it on your terms. Predator and I will be happy to have Amazonia’s help. Unless Dreggs or Predator has an objection, you’re back in.” The remaining members of the team nodded their approval, and Raven and Wolf shook hands. Mace continued to glower at the situation. Clearly the return of Wolf has made W. A. R. even more volatile and more dangerous than anyone expected, and one can only wait for the fireworks to begin.
UNWANTED GUESTS GET SHOCK AT DEADLY MILITIA CONFERENCE The press corps held its breath as Krakan was wheeled onto the stage for the Deadly Militia’s press conference, remembering Thantos’ threats if Krakan returned. As always, the Militia leader chose to appear alone for his press conference. “You can all see what my condition is,” Krakan stated, referring to his neck brace and wheelchair. “I’ll spare you the details. I’ll be out of the chair any day now. The neckbrace will stay on longer.” Before Krakan could continue, the entire Gladiator team walked out onto the stage, led by Thantos, and surrounded the injured man. “Don’t count on that ‘any day’ idea,” Thantos said. “You know, I almost hoped you wouldn’t show. You don’t leave us much choice. Announce your retirement now, or you’re finished.” “My men are in the back . . .” Krakan started, but the Gladiators began to laugh before he could end his sentence. “That’s true,” Vengeance smiled, “But they won’t be much help to you. They had an accident. They’re a little bit unconscious.” Krakan hesitated, looking beaten and desperate as never before. He appeared to be headed toward total humiliation or permanent injury when another unexpected guest appeared. Mutant ran onto the stage, leapt onto Overkill’s back, and started flailing at the Aethran powerhouse. Overkill simply shrugged him off, but Mutant jumped at him again, trying against all odds to defend the man who was once his manager. Finally Overkill picked up Mutant and power bombed him, leaving the wounded creature lying on the floor. “Where were we?” Thantos asked smugly. “Oh yes. You were retiring.” “Don’t count on it,” Krakan snapped, a new gleam of anger in his eye. “I can’t believe it took Mutant to remind me of what I am. He wouldn’t give up, and neither will I. No one intimidates Krakan. Do your worst.” “If you insist,” Vengeance smirked, but as the Gladiators closed in for what promised to be a horrible massacre, yet another figure stormed out onto the stage. This time it was Dark Justice, wielding a metal pole with which he slammed Vengeance and Thunder aside. Moments later Vigilante and Soldier of Fortune, both bloody and battered, ran in. Now confronted with real opposition, the Gladiators backed off the stage. Krakan looked up at Dark Justice. “I never thought I’d see you coming to help me,” he said. “What do you want?” Dark Justice shrugged. “I don’t know anymore. I’m confused about a lot of things. But I came into this federation hating Aethrans, and I still hate them. You had the guts to stand up to them. I never liked you, but I admire that.” “And now what?” Krakan asked. “Do you have your medical clearance to wrestle again?” Dark Justice nodded. “I took Grogan’s tests. The shrinks okayed me. I’m no crazier than anyone else here.” “Well, you don’t have anywhere else to go,” Krakan answered, “and I can use you. Do you want in?” When Dark Justice nodded, Krakan continued. “Welcome to the team. Pick Mutant up; we’ll take him too. Looks like I’m not finished yet, Thantos. Like I said, no one intimidates Krakan. Now it’s payback time.”
CPC INTRODUCES PARAGON The Colby/Pelf Corporation held the final press conference. Appearing on stage were Magnus Colby, Sonora Pelf, Mesmer, Doomsayer, Paragon, and the other members of the CPC. “This is a great day, because the next GWF champion stands here with us,” Colby announced. “But I will let the managers do the talking. First, let me introduce the manager of Penthouse Suite, Mesmer.” Mesmer stepped forward to take the microphone. “Thank you, Mr. Colby,” he said. “We have a few changes to note. The most obvious is the arrival of Paragon, the greatest star ever to enter this federation. He will humble Chaos, Pegasus, and anyone else who challenges us. We also have the GWF cruiserweight champion, Prodigy, and Terminus will earn a belt soon. Finally, I want to introduce our new tag team. They are two of the best wrestlers in GWF history, and they should win the tag team belts in no time. They are, of course, Janus the Overman and the Matador of M83, now known as CPC Rising.” “Thank you, Mesmer,” Colby said as he took back the microphone. “And now I give you the manager of our other team, Executive Order: Doomsayer.” “We have a much improved lineup this year,” Doomsayer stated as he stepped forward. “Of course, we are better just for dumping U. S. Patriot. But, in addition to Kati, Dreadnaught, and Monad, we have added Theater of Pain to our lineup. They will be our primary tag team, while Dreadnaught and Monad will fight in both tag team and singles action. Kati, of course, is our top singles star, and we’re always on the lookout for new talent.” Kati was asked by a reporter if his presence here meant that he had completely abandoned his position as leader of the USWF CPC entry. “For now, Shadowmaster is in charge there,” he answered. “I’ll go back eventually. I can be back in the USWF in a day or so anytime I’m needed. For now, I’m needed more here, where with the help of Paragon the CPC will rule the GWF.” Finally, Paragon himself took the microphone. “It’s time for me to get serious,” he said. “I don’t make a lot of statements to the media, but I want all of you to take a message to Chaos for me. Chaos, years ago you ran to the GWF because you couldn’t handle me in the WGX. I’ve waited a long time for this. I know I’m the better wrestler, and so do you. I always have been. That’s why you ran and hid here. I don’t want to hear any excuses about the alpha stone. I’m coming for you. Prepare for your final humiliation.”
GALAXY CUP TOURNAMENTS 2106 2106 marked the twentieth consecutive year that the GWF has opened action with the Galaxy Cup singles and tag team tournaments. The events took place over four days at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena from January 17-21, with two days for the singles tournament and one for the tag tournament with a day off between. The format of the competition is all Titan Death matches after the first two rounds of each tournament. Winners of the events are granted opportunities to fight for the Galaxian Heavyweight and GWF tag team belts at Galactic War, the GWF’s first regular supercard of the year. Seventy-four wrestlers competed in the singles tournament, the same number as in 2105. Twenty-four teams were entered in the tag team tournament, with the top eight seeds receiving byes in round one.
Galaxy Cup Singles Tournament Highlights
Round Two: Jack of Diamonds downed Blazing Skull by DQ; Terminus upset Mandrill; Malice won by DQ over Paragon; Mayhem pinned Colossus; Archon stunned Raven; Pegasus buried Prodigy. Round Three: Vengeance eliminated Jack of Diamonds; Max Shield pinned Terminus; Malice blasted Wolf; Mayhem crushed Kati; Wraith shocked Chaos; Pegasus pinned Archon; Matador of M83 beat Manslaughter. Quarterfinals: Vengeance dropped Max Shield with a “Helter Skelter”; Dark Justice upset Malice with a “Rod of Justice”; Mayhem downed Wraith with a “Cranium Cracker”; Pegasus blasted the Matador of M83 with a “Project Pegasus.” Semi-Finals: Vengeance reached the finals for the second time in three years by beating Dark justice with a “Vengeance Spasm”; Mayhem made it to the finals for the second time in his career by surprising Pegasus with a “Leap of Doom.” Galaxy Cup Singles Tournament Final: For the second straight year, the finals matched teammate against teammate. In 2105 it was Colossus defeating Pegasus; this time Vengeance met Mayhem. The more powerful Mayhem, having only recently returned to the Gladiators, controlled most of the match and had Vengeance on the ropes when the GWF champion took over on the floor and came back with a “Helter Skelter” to claim his first ever Galaxy Cup win.
Galaxy Cup Tag Team Tournament Highlights Round Two: GWF Tag Team Champions Thunder and Overkill pounded CPC Rising; X-Termination downed the Mercenaries; Theater of Pain defeated the Centaurians by countout; Titan Fury surprised the Ninja Assassins; Heracles and Skinhead stunned Rebel Empire; Transrevolver eliminated the Stormtroopers; Assassin Air Raid upset Hunter’s Moon; Pure Power beat the New Order by DQ. Quarterfinals: X-Termination upset Thunder and Overkill; Titan Fury stunned Theater of Pain; Heracles and Skinhead downed Transrevolver; Pure Power pounded Assassin Air Raid. Semi-finals: X-Termination reached the finals for the second time by defeating Titan Fury when Rising Sun went down to the “Headbanger’s Ball”; Pure Power eliminated defending Galaxy Cup Tag Tournament winners Heracles and Skinhead when Heracles was pinned after a “Posedown.” Galaxy Cup Tag Team Tournament Final: X-Termination, the winners of the 2104 Galaxy Cup Tag Team Tournament, were no match for Pure Power. The larger team just overpowered their opponents. Sleeze never even officially entered the match as Grunge was pinned with a “Posedown” after five minutes to give Pure Power their first Galaxy Cup win.
Galaxy Cup 2106 Tournament Notes Vengeance’s victory in the singles tournament made him the first reigning champion and number one seed since Chaos in 2095 to win the cup. The 2105 GWF wrestler of the year picked up right where he finished in December. With the automatic title shot at Galactic War unclaimed, Commissioner Grogan will now have to name a challenger for the supercard. One strong candidate is Raven, who fought Vengeance to a double DQ at Galacticade. After suffering through his worst year ever in 2105, Mayhem was sensational at Galaxy Cup. He gave Vengeance his toughest competition of the tournament and survived a terrific match with Interplanetary champion Colossus. Dark Justice has already begun to pay dividends for Krakan. The newest member of the Deadly Militia met both Malice and Vengeance in the singles tournament. After his win over Malice, Dark Justice attacked and injured his larger opponent. He also gave Vengeance a tough match before going down. Commissioner Grogan immediately suspended Dark Justice for injuring Malice. Skinhead and Heracles made a surprising run at repeating their improbable 2105 Galaxy Cup tag tournament win. If they had not run into Pure Power, they may have been able to repeat. No one else challenged them. One of the most impressive debuts was that of Halcón Oro. His win over Daemon was not surprising, but he was terrific in his upset of Skinhead. Another impressive performance came from Blizzard, who appeared to have Alpha Force beaten even before Alpha was DQ’d. Among the best matches of the Galaxy Cup were Mayhem’s quarterfinal win over Wraith, which was a twenty minute war, Sleeze’s upset of Nefarus, and Blade’s victory over Erebus in the qualifying round. Erebus was injured in a brawl between Brymstone Burning and the Centaurians after the card. On the tag side, the Mercenaries gave X-Termination a great battle, and the semi-final between Titan Fury and X-Termination was also excellent. Paragon fell somewhat short of expectations in his debut. He had trouble beating Hammer in his first match, and although he fought well against Malice, he was clearly beaten when the CPC interfered. Nevertheless, Mesmer was quick to point out that “the Big Man” is still unpinned in the GWF. If he does not perform better than he did at Galaxy Cup, however, that distinction will not last long.
USWF REPORT
STUNNING OPENING TO USWF YEAR POWELL REMOVED AT ANNUAL PRESS CONFERENCE The United Stars Wrestling Federation kicked off its 2106 campaign at the federation’s annual year-opening press conference on January 19, the day off between the GWF’s Galaxy Cup tournaments. The event was held in the press room of the Europa Garden with Commissioner Jim Powell opening the proceedings as representatives from each team appeared with him on stage.
“I want to welcome everyone back for another great year,” Powell began. “We have a lot of business to attend to today, so I want to get right to it. Before the team representatives make their presentations, I have a few announcements." Powell then proceeded with several announcements regarding the USWFs announce teams and arena contracts.
“Now, it’s time to let the teams do the talking . . .” Powell continued, but as he spoke a distinguished gentleman in a gray suit stepped out onto the stage. “I’m sorry to interrupt, Mr. Powell, but I have an important announcement,” the stranger said as he took the microphone. “For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Ivan Robleza, and I am a member of the USWF board of governors. I am here today as a spokesman of the board. We have received protests involving the job performance of Commissioner Powell several times in the last two years, both from the CPC and the Imperial Powers. At our meeting yesterday, by a 4-3 vote, we passed a resolution to remove Mr. Powell from his office as USWF commissioner. I’m sorry, Mr. Powell, but a majority of the board feels that this is the right decision at this time.” Powell simply shook his head sadly. “I saw this coming,” he said. “I know how much influence Magnus Colby has on the board. You all know the allegations against me were false. I have the satisfaction of knowing that I did my job as well as I could.” Robleza shrugged. “Whatever you say, Mr. Powell. In any case, you are relieved of your duties, effective immediately.” Then, as Powell left the stage, the board member continued. “Now, it was our task to name a new commissioner. We considered several candidates, but one man stood out due to his experience in a position such as this. Again by a 4-3 vote, we now install as the new commissioner of the USW . . . Reynard B, Guile!” Lance At-las, Massacre, and the Incredible Badger shrieked in anger as Guile marched out on the stage. “Yes, it’s me,” Guile smiled. “I was unfairly removed as GWWF Commissioner, but this is a better job anyway. I promise to be a good commissioner and to be fair to everyone. And as my first act, I want to announce that the main event at the first card of the year, held at the Rhea Forum, will be USWF Champion High Lord Marlicus against Pathfinder of Ceres for the USWF title. To keep things honest, I am naming Massif as the referee for the match.” “Now, let’s continue with the program,” Guile went on over the angry shouts of several of the men on stage. “We will hear from a spokesman for each team, starting with Lance At-las of the Star Defenders” The various team representatives then made their following statements. Among the highlights were the following:
The Star Defenders Lance At-las, Manager: “First, I want to voice my objections to the removal of Mr. Powell as commissioner. Obviously Colby has bought the votes of a majority of the board. But we’ll keep on fighting as usual. Our roster is unchanged: Black Hawk, Crazy Horse, Toltecas, Space Ranger, and Galactic Trooper. We’re still the best team around, no matter what stunts Guile and Colby pull.”
The Imperial Powers Tirrion Astri, manager: “High Lord Marlicus, Captain Dalcost, and Gorthanor are still the most dominant three men in wrestling. But last year, we were held back by an inferior tag team, the Egyptian Spirits. This year, we have brought in a new team, sent to use by the High Lord’s Father, the Emperor Malkar himself. These men have worked for the emperor as bounty hunters, and now they bring their skills to the USWF. Their names are Tarloc and Vascor, also known as ‘Imperial Bounty.’ With their help, we will return to the top of the federation.”
Cathedral of Calamity Bishop Hell, team leader: “I am healed from all of my injuries last year, and Eternal Damnation is ready to rule tag team competition. The Priest of Pain will still be at ringside with us. And I’m so proud of our last member that I brought him along. Take a look at Father Steel!” (At this point Big Daddy Steel walked out onto the stage. He still wore his trademark dark sunglasses and long mustache, but he had traded his usual costume for a red priest’s robe and headgear like that worn by the Priest of Pain. However, in typical Steel style, he had also ripped the arms off of the robe.) Can anyone stand against this man? We destroyed the Star Union last year. You can see that they’re not even here. We put them away, and now we’re moving on . . .” (As Bishop Hell gloated, Stargazer and Sir Garis of Condrell walked out on stage with a gaudily dressed older man in a long gray fur robe.)
Aethran Rebels Massacre, manager: “I don’t know what universe you’re living in, Thakur. As I see it, Wrath could beat that sorry bunch of wanna-bes you have by himself. And in addition to him, we have Blitz and Scar, the new USWF tag team champions. Scar spent most of his holiday break receiving a personal cleansing from me and Brute, and he’s more dangerous than ever. To top it all off, we have a new member. You know him, I’m sure. His name is Venom.” “What?” Thakur and Nightmare roared together. “That’s impossible,” Thakur shouted. “The high command wouldn’t allow . . .” “He didn’t ask the high command’s permission,” Massacre responded calmly. “They said he was too young and that he needed discipline. Well, he does need discipline, and he’s only seventeen years old, but he also has all the talent he could ask for. What else would you expect from Spike’s nephew? He got tired of waiting for the high command to give him his chance, so he came to us. Now you have to deal with him.” “Tired of waiting?” Thakur barked. “He’s still a skinny kid!” Massacre smiled. “That may be true, but he’s a very special kid. If he wasn’t, you wouldn’t be so upset now. Just think of what he’ll be like in three or four years. You lost this one, and you’ll never rule this federation now.”
The Colby/Pelf Corporation Magnus Colby, CEO: “I am proud to say that the CPC is ready to form its second official team in the USWF. Our two teams will be called ‘Primary Colors’ and ‘The Second Wave.’ I will let the managers introduce the teams.
Primary Colors Shadowmaster, manager: “We are the original CPC team in the USWF. Pathfinder will win the USWF title on the first card, and the Unknown Soldier, Carnage, and Slaughterhouse will all be ready to climb back to the top. We also have Vulcan and Dynamo, the New Pillars of Power. With so much power, we’ll just crush anyone who gets in our way.”
The Second Wave Parsec, manager: “I’m happy to announce the second CPC team. First, Shawn Styles has agreed to join us. He will team with his old partner Conrad Chase as ‘Class Act.’ Reganald Witherspoon will have a chance to follow up his great singles year last year by leaving his tag team with Chase. The Hollywood Stud has also agreed to join us as a singles wrestler. And our last man gives me the most pleasure to introduce. It’s an old friend of mine: Mantric! We offered Altret a contract, but he has decided to leave the USWF. Mantric will fight in singles competition and will be the man to take Wrath’s Heavy Metal belt at last. (As Parsec finished speaking, Commissioner Guile stepped forward again.) Guile: “That wraps it up. Our first card will be . . .” (Guile was interrupted by a loud crash from the back of the press room. The door had been kicked in, just as it was in 2105. In the doorway stood Splatter and the Mad Jester.)
The Outcasts Splatter: “Don’t forget us, Guile. You remember us, don’t you? The commissioner’s worst nightmare. We’re still here, and we’ll still wreak havoc on anyone--just because we can.” (Suddenly the Jester gave a cry and fell face first to the floor. As Splatter turned, he was smashed in the head by a wooden bat and knocked on top of the Jester, where both lay unconscious. Over them stood Brave, the former Genesis bodyguard, his familiar club in his hand.) “Less than two years ago, I was the champion of this federation,” Brave began. “Splatter took that away by destroying my knee. The Jester is guilty by association. Genesis doesn’t need me, and this is where I want to be: back where I can get my revenge on Splatter.” The befuddled Commissioner Guile managed to end the press conference without further incident. However, Brave’s appearance, the new allegiances of Pyramid, Sphynx, Maccavity, and Mantric, the threats of domination by the Gladiators, Bishop Hell, and the CPC, and the unexpected removal of Commissioner Powell had set a tone for what could be the wildest and most unpredictable year in USWF history.
PATHFINDER WINS THE BELT AT FIRST USWF CARD Pathfinder of Ceres regained the USWF Heavyweight championship in a controversial win over High Lord Marlicus on the first USWF card of the year, which was held at the Rhea Forum on January 23. Wrath had been scheduled to challenge Marlicus on the opening card, but new USWF Commissioner Guile instead gave the match to Pathfinder and forced Wrath to fight new CPC member Mantric in a non-title cage match. Worse yet, Guile named Massif as the referee for the USWF championship contest. Pathfinder fought well enough to win on his own against the champion, but the event was marred when the challenger had Marlicus in trouble and the Imperial Powers charged the ring. Massif met Captain Dalcost, Tarloc, and Vascor before they could interfere and drove all three off with help from CPC members Vulcan and Dynamo. While the brawl took place on the floor, the Unknown Soldier joined Pathfinder in the ring and helped pummel Marlicus. When Massif finally returned, the challenger executed a final “Ceres Crunch” and pinned the High Lord to claim the title. “What’s the complaint this time?” Massif asked when he was questioned later. “Someone tried to interfere, and I stopped them. I thought that was what I was supposed to do. I didn’t give Pathfinder the match. I just called it, and I called it as fairly as I could.” In other title matches, CPC members Armageddon won a non-title match against USWF tag team champions Blitz and Scar, CPC member the Unknown Soldier defeated Interstellar Champion Homicide by DQ, Cruiserweight Champion Toltecas downed Reganald Witherspoon by DQ, and Wrath was upset by Mantric in an incredible cage match after which both men were hospitalized.
GWWF REPORT
GWWF GAMBLES ON NEW COMMISSIONER The third annual year-opening press conference for the Galaxian Women’s Wrestling Federation was held on January 19, 2106 in the press room of the Europa Garden. Most of the active wrestlers in the women’s federation were present, as were Omega, Krakan, Sonora Pelf, and Thakur. GWWF Interim Commissioner Torin Caelum opened the proceedings. “First, I want welcome everyone back from the holidays,” Caelum began. “As you all know, I agreed to finish 2105 as the GWWF commissioner after Reynard B. Guile was removed from the office. However, I had and have no desire to keep the position. The GWWF board of governors has therefore had to choose a new commissioner. The decision they reached is going to be controversial. Their selection has an extensive background in wrestling, but he has also served time in prison for illegally gambling on wrestling events. He was barred from the GWF for his actions. Nevertheless, for the two years since his release from prison he has served well as a broadcaster for the USWF, and he has the experience to fill this job. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the new GWWF commissioner: Zachary Carter!” The press corps and the wrestlers present were stunned as the former GWF commissioner stepped out of the stage wings. After shaking hands with Torin Caelum, Carter began to speak. “I want to thank the GWWF for the opportunity to redeem myself,” he stated. “I made some huge mistakes. I paid for them. Now I want to make it up to everyone, and I plan to do that by being the best commissioner I can be. “Now let’s move on to other business. Most of the GWWF teams will remain the same this year, at least at this time. However, both the CPC and the Defense Corps have asked to make statements. We’ll start with the CPC.” Sonora Pelf stepped on stage and took the microphone. With her were Anaxis, Cassandra, and GWWF champion Voodoo Queen. “We have a new addition to our ranks,” Ms. Pelf announced. “Like Terminus, she is from Ara. Like Terminus, she was a champion there. We expect her to be a champion here as well. The CPC proudly presents its newest member: Velar the Great!” A strange looking but obviously powerful female wrestler walked out onto the stage and joined the CPC. Her green skin appeared as rough and uneven as tree bark, and she had bright orange hair. She also carried a championship belt from the Aran Wrestling Federation. When the CPC had finished, Supernova took the stage to speak for the Defense Corps. “We have two new additions,” she announced. “Of course, we also still have myself, Angel, Tamara, and Celestia on the roster. Now we have added a newcomer to the GWWF. Velar had better be ready, because we have a champion of our own. Please welcome Kailani.” A stunningly beautiful young woman walked out of the stage wings and joined Supernova. Then Omega’s daughter turned back to the press corps. “Our other new member is a GWWF veteran. She has made some mistakes, and she spent the last two years with the CPC. Now she’s back where she belongs. Please welcome Ms. Liberty to the Defense Corps.” As Ms. Liberty entered, Defense Corps member Angel rose to her feet in the audience. “Wait a minute!” she shouted. “Who decided this? Who says we’re bringing her back?” “What’s the problem, Angel?” asked a puzzled Supernova. “The problem is that she turned on you once, and she’ll do it again. We can’t trust her. I spent the last two years fighting her. Now you want us to be friends?” Supernova shrugged. “That’s how this business works sometimes. People make mistakes. Trust me, this will work out.” “If you say so,” Angel replied sarcastically. Then she turned and stalked out of the press room. Commissioner Carter concluded the press conference without further fanfare. However, observers could only speculate on where the anger of Angel might lead the Defense Corps and whether Celestia and Tamara shared her feelings.
CONTROVERSY ARRIVES EARLY IN GWWF YEAR The GWWF did not take long to start its first drama of 2106. The unexpected turn of events took place on a GWF card at Ganymede Stadium on January 25. Ms. Liberty, having recently rejoined Supernova’s Defense Corps, took on Anaxis in a singles match. Anaxis won the match, but after the bell Cassandra came to the ring to help the winner doubleteam their former CPC teammate. Angel was the first member of the Defense Corps to emerge from the dressing room, but instead of defending Ms. Liberty, Angel shocked the crowd by helping the Enchantresses attack their fallen opponent. After half a minute of the three-on-one pounding, U. S. Patriot and Supernova arrived to drive the CPC away. “Angel made a big mistake,” Supernova fumed later. “If she had a problem, we should have discussed it. In answer to the questions everyone is asking, Celestia, Tamara, and Kailani are all fine with the idea of Ms. Liberty joining us. Angel was the only one with the problem. If she’s turned on us and joined the CPC, so much the worse for her. She’ll just have to go down with the rest of Colby’s trash.” Angel’s response left no question of her motives. “Supernova is an idiot,” she snapped. “She makes Maxine look like a brain surgeon. Anyone who would trust Ms. Liberty again is too stupid for me to hang with. Ms. Pelf offered me a deal, and I took it. I’m with a winner now. As far as me going down, Supernova better watch her back. Her boyfriend Pegasus can’t be there for her all the time, and sooner or later I’ll get a chance to show her just who made the mistake.”
