GWF 2106 Highlights
WPU 9.2
CONTROVERSY AT GALACTIC WAR Galactic War, the first regular GWF supercard of 2106, was held on February 15 at the Io Coliseum of Jupiter. The event has been held annually since 2090, but never has it been more controversial than this year. Traditionally, the winners of the Galaxy Cup singles and tag team tournaments receive automatic title shots at Galactic War. At Galaxy Cup 2106, however, Galaxian Champion Vengeance emerged as the winner of the tournament, thus leaving Galactic War without an automatic main event. Most observers expected Commissioner Grogan to name one of three men to receive the title match: Raven, who fought Vengeance to a double DQ at Galacticade in December 2105, Archon, who recently handed Vengeance his first loss of the year in a non-title match, or Pegasus, who has been one of the hottest stars in the federation and who has openly challenged Vengeance. When Commissioner Grogan finally announced the challenger for Galactic War, the entire federation was shocked. “I have reviewed all petitions for this match,” Grogan declared at a press conference three days before the supercard. “Raven will get his shot eventually, but he has already lost twice this year. The same goes for Pegasus, who has also missed much of the past few months with injuries. Archon simply is not ready for such a high-profile match at this point. I am therefore awarding this title match to the man I find most deserving at this time: the Matador of M83.” Raven was angered and Archon offended by the commissioner’s remarks, but Pegasus was the man who spoke out most emphatically. “This is ridiculous,” the four time former GWF champion stated. “The Matador was ranked, what, eighth for the title? He’s been wrestling in tag matches for most of the year. I don’t know what Grogan is thinking, but something is wrong here.”
GALACTIC WAR 2106 HIGHLIGHTS Manslaughter upset Archon with a “Blockbuster Slam”; Voodoo Queen retained the GWWF championship by defeating Amazonia with help from Velar and Angel; The Mercenaries topped Titan Fury as Vigilante pinned Dragonmaster; Kati outlasted Wraith in a terrific cage match; Theater of Pain captured the Interplanetary tag team titles by defeating the Stormtroopers as Comedy pinned Powerhouse; The Draconian Sheik defeated Jack of Diamonds in a Falls Count Anywhere Match by pinning Jack in the locker room; Raven nailed Mandrill with a “Bladerunner” in a Castor Chain Match; Wolf, fighting despite an injury, retained the Heavy Metal title against Blazing Skull; Malice crushed Dark Justice in a Hitman Match; Mayhem claimed the Interplanetary title with a win over Colossus; Janus upset Pegasus in a Turnbuckle Shock Match; Chaos, Heracles, and Skinhead downed Paragon, Prodigy, and Terminus in a best of three falls tag match. Falls went as follows: Terminus over Chaos, Skinhead over Prodigy by DQ, Skinhead over Prodigy with a “Bad Attitude”; GWF Tag Team Champions Thunder and Overkill blasted Pure Power (Marikel Magnifique and Rock Ravishing) as Overkill pinned Marikel; The Matador of M83 defeated Galaxian Champion Vengeance by DQ when Thantos interfered.
GALACTIC WAR NOTES AND WRAP-UP The supercard featured many excellent matches, but perhaps the best was, surprisingly, the cage battle between Wraith and Kati. Although no known animosity existed between the two prior to the card, they went at each other with incredible ferocity for twenty brutal minutes. Although Wraith finally lost the match, he has proven that he can be a force in singles competition. Mayhem’s victory over Colossus gave him the Interplanetary title for the third time and gave the Gladiators of Aethra all of the federation’s major belts. Malice also dominated Dark Justice, further emphasizing the resurgence of the Aethran squad. Amazonia came close to taking the GWWF title from Voodoo Queen, but the CPC came to the champion’s rescue. Voodoo Queen seemed beaten after Amazonia landed an “Amazon Attack,” but Velar rushed to ringside and distracted Amazonia long enough to prevent the pin. Supernova soon appeared and began to battle with Velar, but Angel came in from behind and knocked Amazonia out during the melee, allowing Voodoo Queen to score the victory and retain her title.
RUMBLINGS BEGIN OVER COMMISSIONER’S DECISION Although the Matador of M83 did not take the GWF title from Vengeance at Galactic War, many of the federation’s top stars expressed dissatisfaction with Commissioner Grogan’s decision to give the CPC star the title shot. “It doesn’t make much sense,” stated Star Warrior. “The shot should really have gone to Raven or Pegasus. I’ve known Grogan for a long time, and he’s always been honest. He’s a great commissioner. But this decision needs some explanation.” Surprisingly, some of the most vehement criticism came from Johnny Rocket. “I have no great love for Raven, but he was robbed here,” Rocket declared. “Everyone else is walking on eggshells about this. Everyone can see that something is wrong, but no one wants to accuse Grogan. Well, I’ll do it, then. Grogan gave in to the CPC on this for some reason. Colby found a way to pressure the commissioner into giving the Matador the title shot. If we don’t all stand up on this now, it will happen again.” Commissioner Grogan issued the following irritated response: “I made the best decision I could. Raven and Pegasus are great wrestlers, but in this case I felt that the Matador was the hottest wrestler at this time. I resent Rocket’s implications that the CPC influenced me. I have always dealt honestly with GWF wrestlers. If Rocket doesn’t like all of my decisions, he has a right to say so, but let’s not start making unfounded accusations.”
RAVEN WINS GALAXIAN TITLE On February 23, Commissioner Grogan bowed to the criticism regarding the main event at Galactic War and granted Raven a shot at Galaxian Champion Vengeance at the Ariel Armory. Raven made the most of his opportunity, manhandling the champion to claim the GWF title for the eighth time in his career.
Raven started the match with a flurry and almost immediately knocked Vengeance off his feet. Moments later the challenger landed a “Bladerunner” that might have ended the match, but Malice came running toward the ring, and as the referee stepped out to hold him off Overkill attacked Raven from behind and power bombed him. Vengeance followed up with a “Helter Skelter,” but Raven managed to kick out and fought back to regain the advantage. Again the challenger landed a “Bladerunner,” but this time Thantos distracted the referee to prevent the pin. Raven responded by punching the new Gladiator manager, then delivering a “Broadsword” and rolling up Vengeance for the win. Immediately after the bell, Malice and Overkill reappeared and attacked Raven. Mace and Dreggs soon came to their partner’s rescue, but Raven suffered a deep shoulder bruise that was expected to keep him out of action for two weeks. The victory gave Raven the Galaxian title for the first time since December of 2103, when he lost the belt to Pegasus at Galacticade. “It’s about time,” the new champion said later. “I waited a long time for this. I knew I could get it back. The injury doesn’t matter. I won the belt, and Vengeance isn’t gonna get it back any time soon, because I’m not giving it up easy.”
MORPHEUS PAROLED FROM PRISON GWF legend Morpheus received his parole from prison on February 24, 2106 after serving three years and three months of a five year sentence for blackmail and tampering with the results of professional sporting events. Morpheus was convicted in late 2102 after a lengthy and controversial trial in which he was found to have blackmailed former GWF Commissioner Zachary Carter into making decisions favorable to the Citadel of the Elite, the team that Morpheus was managing at the time. Morpheus was not convicted of a more serious charge of time travel violations. Carter received a reduced prison sentence for a previous illegal gambling conviction due to his cooperation and testimony in the Morpheus case. The newly-freed Morpheus was unavailable for comment. However, his long time associate and sometime enemy Omega made the following comments from his home on Cetus: “Actually, I’m glad to hear that Morpheus is free. I hope we can all put this terrible incident behind us now. Commissioner Grogan has already banned Morpheus from the GWF for life, and I support that decision. But I choose to remember Morpheus not for his illegal activities, but for his considerable wrestling talent and his incredible desire to win. He was once my partner and my friend. He was also the greatest opponent I ever faced. I wish we had been able to work through our differences together instead of opposing each other. As a team, we had something special. He made mistakes, but he has paid the penalty, and now I hope everyone remembers him and salutes him for the many great contributions he made to GWF history.”
X-TERMINATION TOPS GLADS FOR TAG BELTS Less than two weeks after they seemed to be controlling the GWF by holding all major belts, the Gladiators of Aethra found themselves with Mayhem’s Interplanetary strap as their only remaining title. First Vengeance lost the Galaxian title to Raven. Then, on February 26, Thunder and Overkill were upset for the tag team belts by X-Termination at the Cube. For most of the contest, the champions seemed to have the match under control. Sleeze and Grunge made many quick tags but never had the gladiators in any real trouble. Sleeze ended up battered and semi-conscious, having survived a “Decapitator” only because of Grunge’s interference. However, Sleeze later managed to stun Overkill during a fight on the arena floor, and he and Grunge executed a “Headbanger’s Ball” to score the win. The victory gave X-Termination its sixth tag team title reign. Grunge and Sleeze last held the belts in 2104 until they were beaten by Thunder and Overkill.
WILD NIGHT AT THE STELLAR HALL What appeared to be a minor GWF card at the Beta Pictorus Stellar Hall on March 15 ended up as one of the wildest, most exciting, and most dangerous nights so far in 2106. The card began with several stunning upsets, including pinfall wins by Comedy over Colossus and Hydrax over Vengeance. Vendetta also appeared to have Paragon defeated when the CPC interfered to cause a disqualification. In tag team action, the Lower World pulled off a mild surprise by downing Titan Fury and the Centaurians stunned the red-hot team of Transrevolver. In the wake of the series of upsets, anything seemed possible at the end of the card, but the brawl that took place was beyond anyone’s expectations. After Thunder and Overkill defeated the Mercenaries, the Gladiators decided to seize the opportunity to make another strike at Krakan’s team. Vengeance came to the ring to help with the assault, but within seconds the Gladiators were surrounded by Krakan’s forces, as Dark Justice and Mutant were joined by the Barbaric Destroyer, Bloodbath, and Homicide, all members of Krakan’s USWF contingent who were at the time serving USWF suspensions. With Mayhem already out of action with an injury and Malice not in the arena, the Aethrans were outnumbered. Gladiator manager Thantos was beaten badly and Overkill suffered a sprained elbow before the gladiators managed to escape. “They thought I was finished,” Krakan crowed later. “They forgot that I have another whole group of men to call on in the USWF. We dominated them tonight! Sure, we lost the match, but that wasn’t the point. Thantos and Vengeance had better re-think their plans. Nobody has ever pushed the Deadly Militia around, and nobody ever will.” Vengeance, as expected, had a very different reaction to the incident. “They caught us shorthanded and by surprise,” the Aethran spokesman spat. “What does Krakan have? A washed up tag team in the Mercenaries, a psycho as bad as Splatter in Dark Justice, and the Mutant. Now he brings in a mindless dinosaur like the Destroyer and two more psychos like Homicide and Bloodbath, and we’re supposed to be impressed? Not hardly. Next time we’ll be ready for them, and we’ll finish the job we started on Krakan.”
USWF REPORT
ANOTHER TITLE FOR CPC The Colby/Pelf Corporation picked up its second major USWF title of the year when the Unknown Soldier defeated Homicide to win the Interstellar belt at the Olympus Moons Acropolis on February 12. Commissioner Guile ordered the title match after the Unknown Soldier defeated Homicide by disqualification on February 5 due to the interference of Krakan’s Agents of Fortune. Guile suspended Bloodbath, the Barbaric Destroyer, and Cannibal immediately, but he forced Homicide to accept a rematch before beginning his suspension. The contest was fought under Titan Death rules. Homicide took an early advantage, but the Unknown Soldier quickly recovered and began an assault from which the champion never recovered. When the Soldier struck with his “Total Genocide” finisher at the six minute mark, Homicide was unable to escape and the Soldier walked away with the belt. The Unknown Soldier’s win gave him the Interstellar title for the third time. His first title reign began almost exactly one year earlier and his second in mid 2105. The CPC now holds the two biggest singles titles in the USWF, and with the protection of Commissioner Guile they will be difficult to defeat for the belts.
CRAZY HORSE BEATS THE ODDS AT STAR CHALLENGE The USWF held its seventh annual Star Challenge Invitational Tournaments on March 3 at Fire Island before a sellout crowd of 35, 337. The event includes two tournaments, one for single wrestlers and another for tag teams, with all participants selected by the USWF Commissioner’s office. All matches in the tournaments are fought under Titan Death rules. Tournament winners are awarded automatic title shots at the USWF heavyweight and tag team championships. In addition, for the second straight year the Star Challenge also included a battle royal, with the winner being granted a shot at the Interstellar title. The Star Challenge Tournaments were engulfed in controversy from the beginning. Commissioner Guile awarded the top two seeds in the singles tournament to CPC members Pathfinder and the Unknown Soldier. Guile initially refused to grant Black Hawk a spot in the tournament before eventually giving Pathfinder’s top rival the fourteenth seed and putting him in a bracket with High Lord Marlicus, Wrath, and Father (Big Daddy) Steel. The move was clearly aimed at allowing Pathfinder’s top competition to wear each other down. In addition, Guile maneuvered the tag team tournament in the same manner, giving CPC teams Armageddon and Class Act the easier roads to the finals and placing USWF tag champs Rebellion and former champs the Star Patrol in the same bracket. In the end, however, Guile’s manipulations failed. Despite their hand-picked opponents and help from special referee Massif, the CPC entrants in both tournaments were eliminated. Pathfinder was stunned in round one by Mammoth, paving the way for Crazy Horse to grind out a spectacular victory in the singles tournament. On the tag side, the new team of Imperial Bounty overpowered everyone on its way to the championship.
Crazy Horse spoke out after the card. “I’m very proud tonight, and I hope this serves as a warning to Guile and the CPC,” he said. “Guile did everything in his power to set the CPC up to win this, but none of their men even made the finals. I don’t like Steel, and I don’t like Imperial Bounty, but I think we all proved tonight that the CPC is not taking over. I’ll go through Pathfinder, Guile, and Massif too if I have to, but I’m coming after the USWF championship.”
BRAVE’S REVENGE QUEST HITS STUMBLING BLOCKS Former USWF champion Brave, who saw his title reign and the better part of his promising career ended by Splatter’s club in 2104, has so far been unsuccessful in his attempts to gain revenge. Brave returned to the USWF this year after spending 2105 as a bodyguard for the GWF’s Genesis team. The severe knee injury inflicted upon him by Splatter has drastically limited his once impressive mobility, but he has managed a decent 4-6 record so far in 2106. However, he has lost all four of his matches against Splatter and Splatter’s partner, the Mad Jester. On March 22 at the Prantares United Center, matters took a turn for the worse for Brave when he was pounded by Cannibal and Takanu after defeating Takanu. Brave escaped with only minor injuries, “No, it ain’t got nothing to do with Splatter,” Cannibal stated later. “We just don’t like that punk. He had no business in the ring with Takanu or anybody else on Krakan’s team, and we showed him that tonight.” Brave had his own theories about the attack. “I know it was Mandrill’s idea to take me out when I was champion, but Krakan ordered Splatter to do it,” the young wrestler explained. “Mandrill, Krakan, and Splatter--all three are responsible. Krakan knows I’ll come after him eventually, so he’s sending his men after me to head me off. As for losing to Splatter and the Jester, this isn’t about winning and losing. No matter who comes for me or how many times I get knocked down, I’ll keep coming back until I take those lunatics out.”
USWF Notes: The feud between Anamania and the Sidewinders has already resulted in injuries to Silverfang and Sagebrush and a suspension for Cougar Claw, and it seems to be intensifying. The Sidewinders lost their long-time arch-rivals, Estoria Reborn, when Altret left the federation, but they seem to have found a new non-human team to hate . . . Massif again angered Commissioner Guile by counting out Shawn Styles in a title match between Rebellion and Class Act (Styles and Conrad Chase). The CPC’s efforts to claim the tag titles remain fruitless . . . In an incident that may begin a dangerous feud, Dagger Mack and Bishop Hell squared off when the Bishop burned Dagger Mack’s teammate Takanu. The two combatants are among the wildest and most feared men in wrestling and are the leaders of Krakan’s Agents of Fortune and the Cathedral of Calamity. If they go after each other, it might lead to one of the most violent feuds in USWF history.
GWWF REPORT
LEATHER AND LACE REGAIN TAG BELTS Leather and Lace, the twin sisters who held the GWWF tag team titles in late 2104, regained the belts by defeating Kianyra and Black Widow at the USWF’s Star Challenge on March 3. The sister team has been undefeated and red hot in 2106, and they virtually rolled over Kianyra and Black Widow. The defending champions were overmatched from the beginning, with Black Widow going down to the “Both Sides” tag finisher after just seven minutes. “This is how it should be,” Lace stated happily after the match. “We came here as the first women’s tag team specialists, and we proved it again. This time we’re not giving the belts up to anyone.”

GWF 2106 Highlights
From WPU 9.3
MATADOR TAKES GWF TITLE FROM RAVEN CONTROVERSY SURROUNDS TITLE CHANGE The Matador of M83 claimed the Galaxian Heavyweight Championship for the sixth time in his career by defeating Raven at the Vega Palladium on March 28. However, the CPC star’s controversial victory drew immediate protests. Even before the match took place, many GWF wrestlers protested the idea that Commissioner Grogan would grant the Matador a title shot. Pegasus had been red hot in recent weeks, and Mandrill had defeated Raven in a non-title match. The commissioner justified his decision by pointing out that Mandrill was temporarily hobbled by an injury and that Pegasus, who is a friend of Raven, had not yet issued a challenge to the champion. Raven dominated most of the title contest, roaring out to an advantage in the early moments and seldom lowering his intensity. Mesmer saved the Matador from being pinned by distracting the referee once, and when Raven later landed a “Bladerunner” that appeared to knock the challenger out, Mesmer again got the referee’s attention while Janus entered the ring from behind and blasted Raven with a chair. From that point, the Matador recovered and had no trouble slamming the dazed champion with a “Bullwhip” to win the title. After the match, protests began to arise almost immediately. Johnny Rocket, who was not in attendance but saw the match on video, called in to the GWF broadcast team to speak out. “So Grogan got what he wanted, eh?” Rocket spat. “Hey, I can’t stand Raven, but I hate the CPC more. Raven was robbed in the match, and the Matador never should have had the shot anyway. But will the commissioner do anything about it? Of course not. Can’t anyone else see that the CPC has bought him off?” Shortly later, Lord Nexus made the following statement: “I hate to say this, but Rocket may be right. I know the GWF has seldom reversed a decision because of outside interference, but Grogan almost seemed to set this up. I’m very concerned.” GWF color commentator Iron Mane and Archon both made similar comments. Before the night ended, Commissioner Grogan had issued a response. “I have been doing my job as best as I can,” Grogan stated. “It’s not an easy time for the GWF as we face the challenge of the CPC. But CPC wrestlers are still under contract to the GWF, and they deserve fair treatment, too. I resent these accusations by Rocket, Nexus, and all of the others. I am not the villain here. I have done nothing wrong.” Finally, Pegasus made perhaps the most important statement on the situation. “Grogan says I didn’t challenge Raven,” the four-time former GWF champion said. “That’s true, but I’m making a challenge now. I want the Matador, and I want him at the Cosmic Mayhem supercard. Everybody knows I deserve the shot. If Grogan is still on the GWF’s side, let him prove it by giving me the title match on Polaris.”
STUNNING CHALLENGE FOR THE MATADOR Galaxian Champion the Matador of M83 received an unexpected challenge for his belt on a card at the Mizar Solarsphere on April 11. More surprising yet is the fact that Commissioner Grogan immediately agreed to the match. The Matador was beaten by Chaos in a non-title main event. The giant from Dimension X had to overcome interference by Paragon and clear bias by referee Massif, but he refused to surrender, and eventually Massif had no choice but to count the Matador out. Seconds after the bell rang, however, Paragon reentered the ring and attacked first Massif, then Chaos from behind, knocking both men unconscious with a wooden club. Then Paragon turned to the Matador. “You’ve got something I want,” the CPC newcomer stated. “That should be my belt. I don’t care if we’re teammates. I want a title shot at Cosmic Mayhem.” The Matador simply glared back at Paragon without answering. CPC manager Mesmer stepped between the two men as if to prevent a fight, although neither man made any move to attack. After a tense moment, Commissioner Grogan stepped into the ring and took the microphone. “We’re not going to have any brawls here,” Grogan said, like Mesmer ignoring the fact that the combatants were not moving. “Paragon, you’re not exactly the top contender, but you have earned a shot. What do you say, Matador? Do you agree to the match at the supercard?” The Matador continued to glare angrily at Paragon. Then he snapped, “Yeah, I’ll do it,” and walked out of the ring alone, leaving Mesmer and Paragon behind. Reaction to the commissioner’s decision was immediate, as shouts of protest came from Chaos, who had just defeated the Matador, from Mandrill, who was the top ranked contender with seven straight wins, from Pegasus, who leads the federation in wins this year but has yet to receive a title shot, and from Raven, who recently lost the title to the Matador and demanded a rematch. However, Grogan issued an angry response. “I’m getting sick of defending my actions,” the commissioner snapped to reporters. “I do not have to explain every decision I make. Everyone who deserves a shot at the belt will get it. Anyone who wants to protest can take it up with someone who cares.”
COSMIC MAYHEM 2106 BIG DAY FOR THE CPC Third oldest of the GWF supercards, Cosmic Mayhem has been held annually since 2092. The event first took place at the Aldebaran Exposition Center, but in 2099 it was moved to Saturn’s Rhea Forum. Since 2100 has been held at the huge Polaris Interstellar Stadium. The main event for Cosmic Mayhem 2106 was set to be the controversial Galaxian title match between CPC members the Matador of M83 and Paragon. Massif was named as the referee for the contest. The CPC was also granted two other title shots, including Kati challenging Wolf for the Heavy Metal belt and injured Interplanetary Champion Mayhem being forced to defend his title against Terminus with Massif as the referee. COSMIC MAYHEM 2106 HIGHLIGHTS The Stormtroopers downed Hunter’s Moon as Hammer beat Vyper with a “Hammer’s Lock” Predator put Manslaughter out with a sleeper hold Jack of Diamonds pinned the Draconian Sheik in the ring in a Falls Count Anywhere Match Thunder and Overkill blasted the Mercenaries as Vigilante went down to a “Decapitator” Colossus knocked out Janus with the Stun Rod in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Alpha Force downed Prodigy with a “Tomahawk Thrust” with Bounty Hunter as the referee Kati was surprisingly dominant in defeating Wolf to capture the Heavy Metal title Theater of Pain retained the Interplanetary tag team titles by defeating the Lower World Raven and the New Order dominated Heracles, Skinhead, and Brainstorm Rebel Empire hammered Frozen Fury in a cage match as Nefarus pinned Buck Steele Dark Justice upset Vengeance in a Barbed Wire Cage Match Terminus, with Massif as the referee, overcame an injured Mayhem to capture the Interplanetary title Mandrill blasted Max Shield with a “Colonizer Claw Slam” Chaos used the “Bow of Defeat” to defeat Pegasus in a Castor Chain Match
X-Termination retained the GWF tag titles over Pure Power in what turned out to be a handicap match against Rock Ravishing when Marikel Magnifique failed to appear. After the match ended, Marikel came to the ring and insulted Rock before knocking out his partner with what appeared to be a pair of brass knuckles.
Paragon became the GWF Galaxian Champion by pinning the Matador of M83. Just a minute into the match, the Matador came off the ropes and appeared to be tripped by Janus, who had come to ringside with the champion. The Matador stumbled forward into a DDT by Paragon, who then had no problem pinning his opponent to become the GWF champion for the first time.
COSMIC MAYHEM WRAP-UP The final two matches of the card made the day end with even more controversy than it had begun. Paragon became the Galaxian champion in less than two minutes when the Matador was apparently tripped by his own tag team partner. Even special referee Massif appeared disgusted as he counted the Matador out. However, after the card the Matador did not protest. “Janus didn’t do anything,” the Matador claimed angrily, although tapes of the match seemed to show otherwise. “I just slipped. That’s it. Paragon’s the champ. I got no more to say about it.” Equally controversial was Marikel Magnifique leaving Rock Ravishing to fight for the tag team titles alone and then attacking his own partner after the match. Marikel’s explanation shed little light on the situation. “Yeah, I gave up a shot at the GWF tag titles,” the arrogant big man stated. “I got other things to do. I’m sick of tag team wrestling. I’m sick of Rock. I got other plans. You’ll all understand soon enough.” The Interplanetary title match between Mayhem and Terminus was incredible. Although Mayhem remains one of the most hated men in the GWF, no one could help but admire the fight he put up. Wrestling with three cracked ribs and far from full strength, as well as having to contend with Massif as the referee against a CPC opponent, Mayhem simply refused to quit and kept the match going for fifteen minutes, through two “Hammerlock Slams” on his injured ribs. At one point Malice tried to interfere in the match but was held off by Massif, and eventually Mayhem appeared to simply pass out from the pain and was pinned by a backward head slam. After the card, Star Warrior called an impromptu press conference in the locker room area. Standing with him were Lord Nexus, Commander Sam, Vertigo, Terak, and, surprisingly, Nefarus, Thantos, and Johnny Rocket. “This is a sad day,’ Star Warrior began. “Commissioner Grogan has been a friend of mine for a long time. But after what happened today, in both the Interplanetary and Galaxian title matches, we can’t put off acting any longer. All of us here are members of the Management Council, and there are enough of us here to form a majority. We are hereby asking the GWF Board of Directors to conduct an official inquiry into the actions of Commissioner Grogan for the purpose of determining whether he is fit to remain in office. “Personally, I just want to say that I’m sorry it has come to this,” Star Warrior concluded. “I didn’t want to believe it, but now there is no choice. It appears to all of us that Rocket was right: The commissioner has sold out to the CPC.”
USWF REPORT
FIRST SPLIT WITHIN CPC The USWF branch of the Colby/Pelf Corporation suffered the first defection in the team’s history after a match between Eric Cage and the Hollywood Stud at the Brymstone Battledome on April 6. Cage appeared to have the match won when CPC members Shaun Styles, Conrad Chase, and Reganald Witherspoon stormed to the ring to save the Stud from being pinned. The dazed Stud watched the attack for several seconds as the referee called for the bell to disqualify him. Then, inexplicably, the Stud began hammering Styles and Chase. Witherspoon quickly turned on the Stud, and the CPC trio regained the advantage momentarily. Within moments Charon and Scorpio arrived on the scene, and together with Cage and the Stud they drove the CPC out of the ring. “I never wanted to join them in the first place,” the Hollywood Stud explained later. “Styles and I were friends, and he wanted to go with the CPC. Then he teamed up with Chase. I ain’t nobody’s hero, but I ain’t into jumping people from behind, either. I’m sick of them interfering in my matches. I’m gonna do things my own way now.” Cage immediately extended a friendly hand to the Stud. “I don’t know why he did it, but I’m glad he did,” Cage commented. “Everyone knows my partner, Sandy Styles, left the USWF this year. I don’t know when or if he’ll be back. But I want to tell the Stud that any time he needs a partner, or just a friend, all he has to do is ask. I don’t know him well, but anybody who quits the CPC is okay with me.”
LANCE BLOWS HIS COOL WITH MASSIF After over two years of watching biased refereeing, Star Defenders manager Lance At-Las lost his temper and publicly berated his one-time friend Massif on a card at the Bellatrix Constellation Dome on April 9. Massif had just officiated an Interstellar title match between the Unknown Soldier and Guthlac in which the challenger dominated the action but was repeatedly denied the victory by interference and slow counts. Eventually the Soldier took advantage of Guthlac’s frustration and fatigue and scored the pinfall to retain his title. As King Colerain led the defeated Guthlac away from the ring, however, At-las appeared at ringside with a microphone. “I’m sick of this, Massif,” Lance stated, pointing directly at the huge referee. “What are you doing? You just cheated that kid out of a title. You’ve cheated all of us. You were a great person once. What happened? Why did you sell out? “Do you have any memory of what you were?” At-Las continued. “You were a member of the FDF, like I was. Everyone respected you, both as a wrestler and as a man. You were a part of something special. Why have you thrown all of that away? You and I were friends once. If that friendship meant anything to you, think about what you’re doing. Think about what this means to your whole career. Do you want to be remembered as the giant of the FDF or as the dishonest referee for the CPC?” Massif simply stared angrily at At-las for several seconds. Then he marched out of the ring without speaking. The huge referee also refused to comment after the card.
HOSTILITIES INCREASING BETWEEN CATHEDRAL AND AGENTS The violent new feud between Bishop Hell’s Cathedral of Calamity and Krakan’s Agents of Fortune seems to grow more intense by the day. Numerous incidents in recent weeks have taken the hostilities to dangerous levels. In response to Bishop Hell’s burning of Agents team member Takanu last month, Dagger Mack and Homicide challenged the Bishop and Father Steel to a tag match at the Brymstone Battledome on April 6. The match was a wild affair, with both teams seeming more intent on inflicting injury than on winning and with bodyguards Cannibal and the Priest of Pain frequently becoming involved. The contest ended when Bishop Hell was disqualified for throwing a “Hellfire” in the face of Homicide. Just six days later at the Sirius Silver Spire, Bishop Hell appeared to have earned a victory over Crazy Horse with a “Hellfire” when Dagger Mack appeared and attacked the Bishop. Crazy Horse was disqualified due to the interference, and another wild brawl broke out between the Agents and the Cathedral. Various other incidents have occurred in recent weeks. To this point, none of the combatants has suffered serious injuries, but with the two most violent and sadistic groups in wrestling battling each other, this may become the bloodiest feud in wrestling history.
CPC TAKES CONTROL ON WILD CARD AT ALBERIO TEMPLE The USWF card at the Alberio Temple of Cygnus on April 23, 2106 presented a classic example of the sort of mayhem and chaos for which the federation has become known. By the end of the evening, however, the Colby/Pelf Corporation had emerged with two more championships. The Gladiators of Aethra were major players in the out-of-control events. Early on the card, Ruin of Aethra was disqualified against the rookie Venom but attempted to attack his opponent after the bell. Blitz and Scar came to the ring, and together with Venom they dealt Ruin a serious neck injury that is expected to keep him out of action for nearly two months. Later in the evening, Ravage was beaten by Guthlac, and the frustrated Gladiators took out their anger on the victor. Guthlac suffered minor injuries, but Ravage, Violator, and Nightmare were all suspended by Commissioner Guile. In a separate incident, the Sidewinders continued their long-running feud with Alien Assault by injuring Salitir Palgin after Palgin had pinned Gunslinger in a tag match. Bloodbath also participated in the attack on Palgin, and Bloodbath and the Sidewinders were all suspended. Neither Bloodbath nor Agents of Fortune leader Dagger Mack would comment on the reasons for Bloodbath’s involvement in the incident, as no connection is known to exist between Krakan’s team and the Sidewinders. Even GWF stars got into the act. Max Shield and Painmaster, both under suspension from the GWF, squared off, with Painmaster winning the match but being attacked by Shield, Blizzard, and Brave afterward. Painmaster suffered serious injuries that may keep him out of the beginning of the GWF War Games. Commissioner Guile took no action, stating that GWF wrestlers were taking their chances by coming to the USWF and could work out their own problems. However, the evening belonged to the CPC. First, Reganald Witherspoon shocked the federation by ending the eleven month cruiserweight championship reign of Toltecas. Witherspoon used his superior speed to control the match, but he also benefited from several missed high risk moves by Toltecas. The former champion saw his string of successful defenses end at a very impressive 24. Next, Class Act, the team of Conrad Chase and Shaun Styles, defeated Rebellion for the tag team belts. Blitz and Scar dominated most of the match and had Styles badly beaten before Chase was even able to tag in. After several minutes of a strong effort by Chase, Styles reentered and was immediately knocked down by Scar. Moments later, however, Styles recovered and stunned the young Aethran by rolling him up for a quick pin. Rebellion, the clear winners of the physical battle, thus saw their belts taken away on a quick pinfall and their title reign end after eight defenses. In the main event, USWF champion Pathfinder survived a tough challenge by Maccavity and seemed to have the match won when Wrath stormed the ring and attacked Pathfinder. Maccavity was disqualified, but Wrath, who defended his Heavy Metal title earlier on the card and is now the only remaining USWF belt holder not employed by the CPC, sent a clear message that he is ready to challenge for the USWF title and that in spite of their success, the CPC does not have control of everyone in the federation.
SPECIAL BULLETIN: MASSIF A NO SHOW AT SUNDOME The controversy surrounding GWF head referee Massif continued to grow on May 5 when he failed to appear for a GWF card at the Phobos Sundome. Massif had been scheduled to officiate a title match between Tag Team Champs X-Termination and CPC challengers Transrevolver. Transrevolver won the contest by disqualification when Skinhead interfered. Commissioner Grogan appeared very angry with the giant referee’s absence. “This is a serious situation,” Grogan announced later the same night. “I have had no communication with Massif. I certainly hope that nothing has happened to him. But failing to show up for work is a punishable offense. He had an important assignment tonight, and Transrevolver lost because Massif was not there to prevent Skinhead’s interference. This incident needs a full investigation.”

GWF 2106 Highlights
From WPU 9.4
MASSIF COMES CLEAN GROGAN FIRED, PARAGON STRIPPED OF GALAXIAN TITLE The GWF Board of Directors called an unexpected press conference at the Nereid Starplex on May 8, the day of the War Games singles tournament. Appearing on stage were Solaris, Massif, and a well-dressed gentleman who took the microphone first. “My name is Richard Brinkton,” the stranger began. “I am the current chairman of the GWF’s Board of Directors. We asked you all here today for several reasons, but since Massif has been the catalyst for what has happened, I will let him speak first.” The huge referee and former GWF champion took the microphone. “First of all, I’ll make official what everyone already knows,” he said. “For the last two years, while serving as a GWF referee, I have also been on the payroll of the Colby/Pelf Corporation. I have favored CPC wrestlers in their matches and taken orders from both Magnus Colby and Mesmer. I will not try to explain my actions here. All I can say is that I deeply regret what I have done. “However, my main purpose today is not my own confession, but to say that I am not the only GWF official who has sold out to the CPC. Commissioner Grogan is also on Mr. Colby’s payroll. I do not know exactly when Grogan’s corruption began, but I became aware of it shortly after the end of last year’s War Games. At least since that time, and perhaps longer, Grogan has been involved in all CPC manipulations, including the Galaxian title match at Cosmic Mayhem at which the Matador essentially threw the match to Paragon at Colby’s orders. “I do not expect this confession to erase everything I have done,” Massif continued. “But I also believe that I have done some good things for the GWF in the past. Therefore, rather than resign at this time, I am asking for a leave of absence for the remainder of 2106. This will allow me to think about my future and give the GWF time to consider whatever disciplinary action they wish to take against me. If the GWF accepts this proposal, I will return in December to hear the final decision.” Mr. Brinkton stepped forward and reclaimed the microphone. “Thank you, Massif,” he said. “Because of your willingness to reveal information about Commissioner Grogan, the Board of Directors has accepted your proposal. Your leave of absence is granted, and we will take no other action regarding your position at this time. However, Mr. Grogan is not so lucky. With Massif’s help, we have compiled enough documentation to leave no doubt as to his corruption. Therefore, by unanimous vote, the GWF Board of Directors hereby removes Mr. Grogan from his position as commissioner, effective immediately. We expect to name a new commissioner next year. For now, Grogan will be replaced on an interim basis by Solaris, who has a few announcements of his own.” Solaris took the microphone and addressed the reporters. “I have three announcements to make today,” he stated. “First, because of my duties as GWF interim commissioner, I will have to suspend operations of the GWFF on Kronos, including our mid-year ‘Time Bridges’ card. We have not yet made a decision on the ‘Worlds Collide’ card in December. “Next, Massif has given us more than enough information to convince us that Mesmer and Colby have been deeply involved in the corruption of GWF officials. Unfortunately, Colby has been very careful to leave no concrete proof of his activities, so we cannot take any action against him. Mesmer is another story. We have plenty of evidence of what he has done. As of this moment, Mesmer is banned from the GWF. I am not even going to put a time limit on this. When the federation names a new commissioner, he can decide whether the banishment is for life. As far as I’m concerned, Mesmer is through in the GWF. “Finally, we also have no doubt that the Matador of M83 intentionally lost the Galaxian title to Paragon at Cosmic Mayhem. We are not going to have a champion who did not earn the belt. Therefore, I am stripping the Matador of the title, retroactive to April 16, the day before Cosmic Mayhem. The title match never happened. Not only is Paragon not the Galaxian champion, but as far as the GWF is concerned, he never was. “We will hold a tournament tomorrow at the Morningstar Arena of Venus to determine a new Galaxian Champion. We know that this gives the participants little time to prepare, but they are all equally inconvenienced, and we want a new champion when the War Games begin. Paragon will be included in that tournament. If he can actually win the belt by beating someone, then we will recognize him as a champion, but not until then.” To end the press conference, Massif again took the microphone. “I have two more things to say,” he began sadly. “First, I want to apologize to everyone--fans, wrestlers, friends, even those in the GWF that I considered my enemies. I can’t excuse myself for what I did, but I hope you can all forgive me. And I also want to say thank you to the man most responsible for me finally doing the right thing: Lance At-Las. Lance, when you shouted at me last month on that USWF card, I was furious, but you also got through to me. My disgust over seeing Paragon handed the title may have caused me to confess, but you set it up. You were right, Lance. Everything you said was right, and I’m glad you were enough of a friend to say it.”
MAGNUS COLBY RESPONDS TO PRESS CONFERENCE Just a few hours after the stunning press conference at which Commissioner Grogan was fired and Paragon stripped of the Galaxian belt, Magnus Colby spoke with the press while attending the War Games singles tournament on Nereid. “Of course I’m stunned,” Colby stated. “My people are conducting our own investigation. I want to say for the record that I knew nothing of Massif’s corruption. If Mesmer and Grogan indeed did the things Solaris and Massif accused them of, then I support the GWF’s action 100 percent. But they had better have proof. You already heard Solaris say that there is no evidence that I did anything wrong. There is no evidence because I did not do the things they are accusing me of. If Mesmer acted on his own, he has to suffer the consequences. For now, my only concern is finding a new manager for Penthouse Suite.”
MANDRILL WINS TOURNAMENT TO CLAIM GALAXIAN BELT Mandrill became the GWF heavyweight champion for the fourth time by defeating Raven in the finals of an exciting tournament at the Morningstar Arena of Venus on May 9. The event featured the top eight eligible contenders for the vacated Galaxian belt, and it was a tremendous battle from start to finish. Pegasus missed the tournament due to an injury, while Terminus and Mayhem were held out by their own teams due to the entry of Paragon and Malice in the playoff. In round one, Mandrill disposed of Marikel Magnifique in less than two minutes, Chaos defeated Dark Justice, Colossus topped Paragon, and Raven triumphed over Malice for the second time in two days, having also defeated the huge Aethran in the War Games singles tournament. The following semi-final contests were incredible. Mandrill overcame a determined Chaos in a grueling fifteen minute battle, while Raven came back from a terrible beating to pin Colossus. The finalists for the title match appeared exhausted from the beginning, as both had reached the semi-finals of the War Games singles tournament the day before and then endured their tough previous contests. Nevertheless, Raven came out strong and hammered Mandrill for five minutes, appearing to take control of the match. Mandrill fought back to deal out an equal amount of punishment to his opponent, and the battle went back and forth until the Colonizer finally pulled out his Voltaic Stunner and zapped the exhausted Raven to win the match. On the same card, Thunder and Overkill claimed the War Games tag team titles by defeating the New Order in the tournament final. Max Shield won the War Games singles belt at the Nereid Starplex the day before.
TRANSREVOLVER TOPS X-TERMINATION FOR TAG BELTS In contrast to the turmoil in the Penthouse Suite due to Mesmer’s banishment, Doomsayer’s CPC Executive Order team had a terrific outing on the first full night of the 2106 War Games on May 14. Not only did Kati and Theater of Pain successfully defend their Heavy Metal and Interplanetary tag titles and Marikel pull an upset win over Colossus, but the crowning moment came when Transrevolver defeated X-Termination to win the GWF tag team titles at the Titan Sportatorium. Transrevolver had tried unsuccessfully to wrest the belts from Rocket’s team over the first four months of the year, winning numerous non-title contests but never quite managing the pinfall with the titles on the line. Because Dreadnaught and Monad had won a recent non-title contest over the champions, interim Commissioner Solaris granted them the rematch for the belts. Dreadnaught roared out to begin the match at the Sportatorium, knocking Grunge from his feet immediately, and from that point the match was no contest. Despite several pin saves and distractions by Sleeze and Rocket and even outside interference by Heracles, Grunge was never able to tag in his partner and finally succumbed to Monad’s “Surfboard Submission” at the six minute mark. “This has been a tremendous day,” Doomsayer stated later. “We have proven that Penthouse Suite is not the only CPC team to worry about. We now have all of the tag-team gold, as well as the Heavy Metal championship. With Marikel Magnifique now on board, we will dominate these Games and bring the CPC its first War Games rings.”
MORE BELTS CHANGE HANDS AS WAR GAMES HEAT UP Two more GWF title changes followed Transrevolver’s GWF tag team title win in the early weeks of the War Games. On May 18 at the Juno Civic Auditorium, Hunter’s Moon topped Theater of Pain to claim the Interplanetary tag team belts. Three days later Mayhem got revenge for his controversial loss at Cosmic Mayhem by regaining the Interplanetary championship from Terminus.
Theater of Pain had struggled through a shaky three month title reign, and their luck ran out against Hunter’s Moon. The match was over almost before it began, as Vyper stormed in to nail Tragedy with a Snake Spinemasher and followed up with a “Vyper’s Sideshow” to pin his stunned opponent in just over a minute. Hunter’s Moon’s only previous title reign was when they captured the GWF tag belts for a brief period in late 2104. Mayhem’s title bout with Terminus was far more competitive. Because Terminus had been disqualified in Mayhem’s first attempt at regaining the belt a few days earlier, interim Commissioner Solaris ordered a cage match to determine a clear winner. Terminus held the advantage for several minutes, using his superior speed to avoid Mayhem’s power moves, but eventually the Aethran wildman caught the champion and blasted him with a full force “Leap of Doom.” Terminus appeared to be knocked unconscious as Mayhem scored the victory and reclaimed the title he had lost when he was forced to fight despite an injury a month earlier.
U. S. PATRIOT HEADS TO USWF U. S. Patriot, only recently having recovered from his brutal beating at the hands of Splatter on a USWF card, made his GWF return at the Pollux Starfire Arena on May 25 in a losing effort against Dark Justice. After the match, the Patriot made a surprise announcement to reporters. “Everyone knows by now that Black Hawk, Crazy Horse, and Jason the Canadian Bomber have been suspended from the USWF for injuring Dalcost,” the Patriot stated. “That leaves Lance At-Las and the United Defenders in serious trouble for their War Games for the next few weeks. I’ve discussed this with Commander Sam, and I’ve made a decision. I’ve said before that I have some things to make up to Lance. I was a part-time member of the Defenders four years ago when they won the USWF Games. If Lance will have me, I’ll go back and fill in now. Jason can take my place in the FDF. Commissioner Solaris has okayed this, so it’s up to Lance. If he wants me, I’ll be at the Aethra War Dome in two days for the next card, and I’ll fight for the Defenders until the suspensions end.”
DEEP SPACE SHOWCASE 2106 The GWF’s annual Deep Space Showcase began in 2096 as a means of bringing supercards to some of the smaller GWF venues that do not normally play host to major cards. For this reason, the Showcase takes place at a different location each year. For 2106, the card was held at Brymstone’s Lava Ruins on June 5.
DEEP SPACE SHOWCASE HIGHLIGHTS Manslaughter crushed Halcón Oro with a “Snap, Crack, Pop” The Stormtroopers downed the Titan Flyers when Hammer pinned Talon with an “Ariel Attack” Blizzard was disqualified against Brainstorm for using the “Ice Attack” The Ninja Assassins topped Titan Fury with Bounty Hunter as the referee Alpha Force nailed Death’s Head with a “Tomahawk Thrust” in a Castor Chain Match The Centaurians surprised Theater of Pain to win the War Games tag team titles Raven pounded Dark Justice with a “Bladerunner” for a quick win in a Turnbuckle Shock Match Wolf ripped Blazing Skull with the “Savage Face Claw” to win a Barbed Wire Cage Match Kati dominated the Draconian Sheik in a cage match to retain the Heavy Metal title Vengeance, Thunder, and Malice overcame Chaos, Heracles, and Grunge in a three-man elimination tag match. Pegasus slammed Marikel Magnifique with a “Project Pegasus” in a Titan Death Match Hunter’s Moon defeated the Mercenaries by disqualification to hold on to the Interplanetary tag team titles Terminus regained the Interplanetary title when he pinned Mayhem with an “Aran Power Drop” The Star Patrol downed the New Order when Space Ranger pinned Mace Paragon and CPC Rising defeated Jack of Diamonds, Archon, and Jason the Canadian Bomber in a three-man elimination tag match. Transrevolver managed to hang on to the GWF tag team titles in a great match against Rebel Empire Mandrill pounded Colossus to retain the Galaxian title with a “Mutant Mauler.”
Deep Space Showcase Wrap-up The best match of the day was easily the tag team title match. Transrevolver, despite being champions, entered the match as the underdog, but Doomsayer’s men refused to quit and took the best shots that Rebel Empire could dish out. All four wrestlers were badly beaten and bloodied by the end. Transrevolver might have quieted a few of the team’s many doubters with the win.
Terminus regained the Interplanetary title, marking the third time this year that the strap has changed hands between Terminus and Mayhem. Both wrestlers fought well, but Terminus had to be saved by Prodigy’s interference to avoid being pinned by a “Leap of Doom” early in the match before coming back for the win. To the surprise of absolutely no one, Mace expressed dissatisfaction with his team’s performance after a loss to the Star Patrol. “Me and Dreggs better get it together,” he muttered. “In fact, that goes for our whole team. Wolf is looking a little better lately, but he and Raven still need to win the big matches. Predator too. With our talent, we ought to be on top of the War Games. If we don’t get there soon, something’s gonna blow.”
GWF INTERVIEW: MASSIF Massif entered the GWF in 2087 as a charter member of the newly formed Federation Defense Fighters. He fought for the FDF until 2095, when he was banished after the first Sudden Death event. He made a brief return three years later to join the Defenders of the Galaxy during the 2098 War Games before retiring to become the GWF’s head referee. In 2094, however, observers began questioning his officiating, and he recently admitted that he had accepted payments to favor Magnus Colby’s CPC. He has now been granted a leave of absence from the GWF before a final decision is made on his status. Before leaving the federation, Massif granted the following interview to Qualitar. Q: Well, Massif, I first want to thank you for being here. You asked for this interview time to give more of an explanation of your actions. Massif: Exactly. I don’t want to take my leave of absence with anything left unsaid. Q; Okay, let’s start at the beginning. How did all of this happen? Massif: You remember that at Galaxy Cup 2104 we had some trouble in the tag team tournament finals. The Warrior Kings were fighting X-Termination. King Colerain pushed me, and I knocked him out. It cost the Warrior Kings the match. Looking back, I may have overreacted, but I thought I was doing my job. Afterwards everyone criticized me, including Commissioner Grogan. I was angry and felt that I was being treated unfairly. That’s when Colby came and took advantage of the situation. He made me an offer, and I was so frustrated with the GWF that I took it. Q: So who are you blaming this on: Colerain, Grogan, or Colby? Massif: I’m not blaming any of them. I’ll take responsibility for my own actions. I made my own decision. I’m just explaining what happened. Q; There have been rumors, as there were with Commander Sam, that Mesmer somehow drugged you and influenced you to join the CPC. Massif: Well, not that Mesmer wouldn’t do it, slime that he is, but that’s not true. I wish I had such a good excuse. But like I said, I made my own decisions. I can’t even put the blame on Mesmer. Q: Were you in on all of the CPC plots over the last two years? Massif: No. I was in on the ones that involved me. That’s all they let anyone in on. Q: Who is they? Massif: My orders came from Mesmer, but you know Colby is behind it all. And Doomsayer is in on their planning. So is Shadowmaster in the USWF. Kati has also been a big part of what they are doing. And of course, Guile and Grogan have been very directly involved. Q: And yet you can’t provide any evidence regarding Colby’s involvement? Massif: Colby is no fool, whatever else he is. He made sure that he couldn’t be blamed. In fact, Mesmer was almost set up to take the fall. Q: Do you really think the GWF will ever let you return as a referee? Massif: To be honest, right now I’m not even sure I want to come back. I’m very ashamed of my own actions. I know I betrayed a lot of people. But I’ve been here for a long time, and I’ve done some good, too. And I did help them nail Grogan and Mesmer. So let’s wait and see what the GWF decides and how I feel after my leave of absence. For now, I’m just glad I finally woke up, thanks to Lance At-Las, Star Warrior, and a lot of other real friends who never stopped reminding me of what I once was.
USWF Report
ANDROMEDA EXPLOSION 2106 The USWF held its third annual Andromeda Explosion supercard on May 10, 2106 at the Andromeda Nebula Pavilion. The Explosion was created in 2104 to replace the USWF’s original supercard, the Europa Eruption. This year the event was attended by a sellout crowd of 47, 915.
ANDROMEDA EXPLOSION 2106 HIGHLIGHTS The Mad Jester was disqualified for using the “Dead Man’s Verse” on Sir Garis Blitz and Scar devastated the Clean Up Crew with Jackal going down to the “Aethran Triumph” Splatter leveled Brave with Arsenal to win a Hitman Match Maccavity dominated Reganald Witherspoon to win the USWF cruiserweight title Venom nailed Gorthanor with a “Snakebite” in a Lepus Stun Rod Match; Black Hawk made Enigma submit to the “Hawkwing” Imperial Bounty downed Armageddon in a Titan Death match when Vascor pinned Carnage; Wrath blasted Mantric with a “Reprisal” to retain the Heavy Metal belt Toltecas outlasted GWF cruiserweight champ Prodigy Lycanthrope won the Interstellar title by defeating the Unknown Soldier in a Titan Death Match High Lord Marlicus won by DQ over USWF Heavyweight Champion Pathfinder due to outside interference by the CPC.
Andromeda Explosion Wrap-Up The Colby/Pelf Corporation did not have a good day, losing two of its four titles, but matters could have been worse, as Pathfinder came seconds from losing the federation’s biggest prize. High Lord Marlicus appeared to have the champion beaten with a “Divine Conquest” when nearly the entire CPC, including the Unknown Soldier, Mantric, Armageddon, Vulcan, Dynamo, and Sandy Styles all stormed the ring and interfered, giving the referee no choice but to call for a disqualification.
Perhaps the biggest news of the day was Lycanthrope winning the first title of his career by defeating the Unknown Soldier for the Interstellar strap. Wolf’s son had defeated the champion several times by disqualification or in non-title matches, and when Commissioner Guile reluctantly granted him the opportunity of a Titan Death Match, he took full advantage. Lycanthrope dominated the contest, not even slowing down when Mantric and Reganald Witherspoon tried to interfere, and he finally blasted the Soldier with “The Howling” to win the belt.
Maccavity’s win was also important, as the cruiserweight title changed hands for the second time in less than three weeks. Once again a CPC champion was dominated, as Maccavity seemed to have no trouble defeating Reganald Witherspoon for the belt.
After the card, Marlicus spoke out angrily against Pathfinder. “He couldn’t do it alone, could he?” Marlicus stormed. “I should have known he didn’t have the guts to face me one-on-one. And now Guile will come up with excuses to keep me from another shot. Now that Pathfinder doesn’t have Massif to protect him anymore, he knows he can’t beat me. But I will get the shot, one way or another, and I’ll prove who the real champion is once and for all.” ETERNAL DAMNATION STUNS CLASS ACT FOR TAG BELTS An unlikely challenger in an unlikely location put a sudden end to Shaun Styles and Conrad Chase’s reign as USWF tag team champions on May 23.
Eternal Damnation has suffered through a terrible year so far in 2106 and under normal circumstances would not even have received a title shot. However, Shadow Assassin and Night Wraith were lucky enough to draw the tag team champions in a War Games matchup at the Lagoon of M8 on May 20 and managed au upset win in a non-title match. Chase and Styles, who had dominated most other competition, demanded a rematch on the next card to “correct the mistake” of their loss, and in order to ensure that the match take place they offered to put the tag team titles at stake.
Thus not only did Eternal Damnation, ranked as the number 12 contender before their non-title win, gain a chance at the championships, but the tiny Colomba Parthenon, the smallest active arena in the Galaxy, was the scheduled site of the next card and was therefore granted the unexpected chance to host a title match. The rematch took place before a sellout crowd at the Parthenon, which holds only 7,457 spectators. Chase and Styles took out their frustrations on Shadow Assassin early, hammering him down for nearly seven minutes before Night Wraith entered the match. The contest swung back and forth for another nine minutes, with Reganald Witherspoon and Mantric interfering at one point but the referee choosing to allow the match to continue. Finally, after nineteen brutal minutes which saw all four wrestlers bloodied, Shadow Assassin blasted Styles with the “Dark Circle” and pinned him to claim the belts, giving Eternal Damnation their first titles since they lost the tag belts to Vulcan and Titanius more than two years earlier.
SURPRISES AND DRAMA AT FIRST USWF AETHRA CARD The USWF held its first ever card on Aethra on May 27, 2106 before a sellout crowd at the Aethra War Dome. Before the night of unexpected events was over, the federation had crowned a new champion. The stage was set for controversy in the days preceding the event. First came the suspension of Black Hawk, Crazy Horse, and the Canadian Bomber for injuring Captain Dalcost. As Lance At-Las searched for replacements, U. S. Patriot made his unexpected offer of assistance on May 25 and immediately set out for Aethra. Meanwhile, High Lord Marlicus demanded a shot at USWF Heavyweight Champion Pathfinder but was refused by Commissioner Guile until Pathfinder himself accepted the challenge. The USWF champ answered Marlicus by saying, “I beat him to win the belt, and I’m sick of people saying that I’m ducking him. Let’s settle this on Aethra once and for all.” Finally, Wrath made the surprising announcement that he would not participate on the card despite the scheduled War Games matchup involving his Warrior Legion teammates. “They’ll do just fine without me,” Wrath stated. “I’m not going to Aethra. Aethrans destroyed my home. They raped my mother. The last thing I want is to be on a planet full of them.” One of the most shocking and violent moments of the evening occurred after Bloodbath had defeated Brave in a Titan Death match. Krakan’s Agents of Fortune had been attempting to put Brave out of action for several weeks, and Bloodbath finally succeeded by reinjuring the same knee which robbed Brave of his USWF title two years ago. The severe injury was expected to keep Brave out of action for at least two months. Commissioner Guile suspended Bloodbath for one month. The War Games matchup between the United Defenders and the Warrior Legion was expected to be a walkover for the Legion despite Wrath’s absence due to the suspensions of the three Defender stars. However, Singer of Tales teamed up with King Colerain and pulled off an upset win over Silverfang and Cougar Claw. U. S. Patriot also made his debut as a member of the Defenders and defeated Crow. When the second tag team match occurred, Blitz and Scar were stunned to be matched up against Titanius and the unannounced final addition to the Defenders: Pulsar. After taking a terrible beating, Pulsar threw an “Acid Rain” into Scar’s face and pinned him for the victory, thus giving the Defenders a shocking upset win. “I want to apologize to Blitz and especially to Scar,” Pulsar said later. “I don’t normally use the ‘Acid Rain’ in a fair match. I was dazed, and I just reacted. I did not have any intention of injuring Scar, and I’m glad he’s okay.” Finally, Pathfinder and Marlicus engaged in a classic fifteen minute brawl in which both men were bloodied and both CPC and Imperial Powers members tried to interfere. At the end of the grueling contest, however, the challenger blasted Pathfinder with a “Divine Conquest” while Gorthanor held off the CPC troops, giving Marlicus a record fifth USWF heavyweight title.
GUILE DRAWS CPC CRITICISM FOR INACTION USWF Commissioner Reynard B. Guile, who has frequently been accused of being a puppet for the Colby/Pelf Corporation, has recently come under verbal attack from the very organization he is thought to be favoring. The CPC’s primary complaints stemmed from an incident on a War Games card on Maxus when Corporation member Reganald Witherspoon was injured by Cougar Claw, Silverfang, and Crow. Witherspoon suffered a serious knee sprain that put him out of action for several weeks. Guile’s failure to suspend the Animan trio prompted the first statement of dissatisfaction from CPC “Second Wave” manager Parsec. “This was a travesty,” Parsec fumed. “One of our men was attacked by three people, and Guile says nothing? But yet he suspends Bloodbath for injuring Brave? Who cares about Brave? Why is he more important? I’m telling you, this is a big mistake. If Guile can’t make fair decisions, I hope Mr. Colby is ready to take action.” For his part, the commissioner appeared to be worried about mounting pressure regarding accusations of CPC favoritism. “Everyone claims I take orders from Mr. Colby,” Guile complained. “At-Las, Massacre, and Badger are trying to take my job because of it. But when I try to do something for them, do they defend me? I’m taking heat from all sides, and I don’t like it. No matter what I do, someone complains. I don’t know how much more I can take.”

2106 Highlights
From WPU 9.5
CPC LEADS WAR GAMES SHAKEUP As the GWF took its mid-year break, several War Games teams announced roster changes. Many of the moves were significant, but as usual the CPC managed to overshadow all other action. The annual Kronos summer supercard “Time Bridges” was cancelled this year due to GWFF Commissioner Solaris serving as GWF interim commissioner. The GWF was thus given a five day holiday over the period in which the Kronos card was scheduled, from June 17 to 22. On June 21, however, Magnus Colby called an unexpected press conference at the Capella Star Gardens. Appearing with him at the event were Doomsayer, GWF tag team champions Transrevolver, and a disgruntled looking Kati. “Recently I told you all to expect changes in the CPC,” Colby began. “As always, I have kept my promise. I am still searching for a new manager for Penthouse Suite to replace Mesmer. Our changes today involve Doomsayer’s Executive Order. Although the team is currently leading in the War Games, Doomsayer and I decided that several moves were in order. “First, I want to announce that we have sent Marikel Magnifique to the USWF to take over operations there. Marikel will serve as captain of our CPC forces, which are in a state of disarray. I will have other announcements regarding the USWF later. “You may also notice that Theater of Pain is not here. We have given Tragedy and Comedy an indefinite leave of absence. They are leaving the GWF, effective immediately. “As replacements, we have signed two men,” Colby continued. “The first is an exciting newcomer whom we believe will be a terrific addition to the CPC. Say hello to our newest and most flamboyant member, Halcón Oro.” The young masked man skipped out onto the stage, shaking hands with both Colby and Doomsayer. Then the CPC leader again took the microphone. “Our final addition—for now—is a six-time former GWF Galaxian champion. He finally got tired of being mistreated by his teammates and came our way. We are delighted to welcome one of the greatest GWF stars of all time to our team—Mayhem!” The Aethran wildman stepped onto the stage and took the microphone. “I thought things would have changed with Vengeance, but they didn’t,” he snarled. “I tried to go back, but I was always put behind Vengeance and Malice. I’m sick of it, and I’m sick of them. From here on in, I work for Mr. Colby, and the CPC is gonna tear these War Games up.” While Monad and Dreadnaught watched the arrival of their new teammates with smug looks of satisfaction, Kati continued to glower throughout the announcements. Doomsayer and Colby took no notice of his expression and offered no explanation.
The stunning addition of Mayhem to the CPC sent shock waves through the press corps. The Gladiator response would undoubtedly be swift, and with Thantos in charge of the Aethran team any sort of retaliation was possible.
REACTIONS, MORE CHANGES FOLLOW CPC ANNOUNCEMENT In the two days following the stunning CPC press conference, several other War Games teams made their own announcements. The first statement came, predictably, from the Gladiators of Aethra. “Mayhem has gone off the deep end,” Vengeance steamed. “This time there’s no coming back. We tried to make him an Aethran again. Now we’re going to destroy him. If Colby’s men get in the way, they can go down too. As for the War Games, we do not plan to replace Mayhem on our roster. With me, Malice, Thunder, and Overkill, we don’t need any help.” Surprisingly, Gladiator manager Thantos seemed undisturbed by the situation. “Mayhem was unstable anyway,” he shrugged when questioned by reporters. “We’re better off without him. Let Colby have him.” The next announcement came from Star Warrior, who stated that Charon had decided to return to the USWF. “This was Charon’s decision,” the Defenders’ manager declared. “We were happy with his performance, but he feels more comfortable in the USWF right now. We wish him the best.” Nefarus made the next statement on behalf of the Colonizers of Scorpi. “Things just haven’t worked out like we hoped with the Lower World,” he said. “As of now, Death’s Head and Erebus are no longer members of our team. Instead, we have reached an agreement with someone who can really help us. Effective immediately, the Draconian Sheik, who will still be managed by the Terrorists, is joining the Colonizers for the rest of the War Games.” Finally, Krakan announced major changes in the Deadly Militia roster. “I am sending the Barbaric Destroyer back to the USWF,” he stated. “I am also removing the Mutant from our War Games roster. In their place we are adding the Lower World. We now have the full combined force of the Deadly Militia and Brymstone Burning, and Maleph and I will lead them to victory.”
TWO TITLES CHANGE HANDS AT TRINITY TOWERS The CPC’s Penthouse Suite, still struggling in the War Games standings, lost both the cruiserweight and Interplanetary titles on June 22 at the Maxus Trinity Towers. Skinhead was the first new champion of the night, becoming the first two-time GWF cruiserweight titleholder by defeating his former partner Prodigy. Skinhead had been prevented from challenging for the belt for over two months by a string of injuries, and he began this title contest cautiously. After several slow minutes, however, the challenger took control and went on to dominate the match, finally pinning Prodigy with a power bomb. Later the same evening, Alpha Force claimed the Interplanetary belt by defeating Terminus. The champion controlled the action early in the match, blasting Alpha with a “Hammerlock Slam” and almost pinning him. Moments later, however, Alpha roared up with a “Tomahawk Thrust” that appeared to catch Terminus completely by surprise. The CPC star was knocked unconscious, and Alpha Force covered him to win the Interplanetary belt for the third time. Despite the losses, Magnus Colby expressed no concern after the card. “We’re going to fix things in the very near future,” he said. “Trust me: the CPC will have surprises for a lot of people coming soon.”
MORE TROUBLE FOR W. A. R. Perennial War Games contender W. A. R. appears to be experiencing internal problems once again this year, and as usual Mace is at the heart of the situation.
In recent years, Mace has been critical of many of his teammates, driving Fury, Holocaust, Wolf, and Stalker away from the group with his insulting comments. This year the New Order has been the weak link for W. A. R. as Mace and Dreggs may be on their way to their first losing record ever. After recent losses to X-Termination and CPC Rising, Mace spoke out again.
“Me and Dreggs gotta get it going,” he muttered, “but ain’t no one on this team pulling his weight. Predator’s been inconsistent. Raven’s been hurt. Wolf’s looking old and tired too much. Maybe we need some changes.”
Raven and Predator kept their reactions to themselves. However, Wolf, who returned to W. A. R. this year under tension-filled circumstances, broke a dressing room chair when he heard of Mace’s comments and may be on the verge of leaving the group.
STARCLASH XX The twentieth annual Starclash supercard took place at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena on July 28, 2106. Numerous banquets and parties were held to commemorate the event’s anniversary, with former GWF superstars such as Omega, Actagon, Brute, Massacre, Spike, Stalker, Exo-King, Killer Queen, Torin Caelum, Count Necros, Tendron, Parsec, Billy Jo Boxer, and others in attendance.
Chaos earned a spot in the main event of the supercard by defeating Pegasus in a cage match at the Titan Sportatorium. Mandrill, still nursing injuries from a brawl with Max Shield, was forced into the title defense, as interim Commissioner Solaris refused to allow the GWF champion to sit out the big event. One unexpected development was the presence in the audience of former GWF champion Morpheus, who was recently paroled from prison after serving over three years of a sentence for blackmail and tampering with wrestling events. As Commissioner Solaris pointed put, although Morpheus has been banned from participation in the GWF, no one could deny his right to buy a ticket.

Wolf dominated Mayhem in a Torture Chamber Match
Paragon upset Pegasus in a Hydra Lumberjack Match after lumberjack U. S. Patriot hit Pegasus from behind with a chair.
espite the unexplained absence of Colossus, Alpha Force and the Star Patrol defeated Heracles, Skinhead, and X-Termination in what turned out to be a handicap elimination match.
Transrevolver retained the GWF tag team titles with a DQ loss to Thunder and Overkill when Gladiator manager Thantos attacked Thunder.
Chaos won the Galaxian Heavyweight title for the fifteenth time in his career by forcing a previously injured Mandrill to submit to the “Bow of Defeat.”
Starclash XX Wrap-up and Notes This year’s Starclash supercard featured as much drama and excitement as any of its predecessors. Matches such as the Barbed Wire Cage Match between Archon and Blazing Skull thrilled the fans for pure excitement, but the most significant aspects of the evening involved the actions of individuals who did not even compete on the card.
One of the most active wrestlers of the night was U. S. Patriot, who did not have a match scheduled and was not expected to be in the building. However, after Jack of Diamonds had narrowly defeated the Draconian Sheik in what was unquestionably one of the most brutal contests of the Jack’s career, U. S. Patriot ran to the ring and attacked his exhausted FDF teammate. The Patriot continued the assault for half a minute before another unexpected guest arrived: Kati, the CPC member and GWF Heavy Metal champion who was unable to compete on the card due to an injury he received at the hands of Jack of Diamonds, inexplicably saved one of his most intense rivals from further harm by driving the Patriot away. Later on the card, U. S. Patriot came to the ring as a lumberjack for Paragon against Pegasus, further confirming his return to the CPC and making Kati’s actions even more confusing. Pegasus dominated most of the match, but when Paragon was thrown to the floor and the referee was distracted, the Patriot entered the ring from behind and knocked Pegasus out with a chair, giving Paragon his biggest GWF win to date. Finally, the Patriot was a member of the CPC force that charged the ring during the GWF Tag Team title match between Transrevolver and the Gladiators. While the Patriot, Halcón Oro, and Terminus were held off by Malice and Vengeance, and as Overkill fought Dreadnaught on the floor, Gladiator Manager Thantos took advantage of the situation to attack Thunder from behind, thus preventing an almost certain pin of Monad. Mandrill put up a battle in the Galaxian title match, but previous injuries to his legs and upper body made him easy prey for Chaos’ “Bow of Defeat.” The most confusing aspect of the evening may not have been the actions of Kati, but rather the absence of Colossus. The Defenders of the Galaxy star was scheduled to take part in the elimination tag team match between the Defenders and the Citadel, but he never arrived at the arena. Star Warrior expressed concern, but said that he had no news regarding Colossus or his failure to appear for Starclash. After the card, the long-expected break in the W. A. R. camp took place when Mace criticized Predator for losing to Vengeance. “We almost had a perfect night for once,” Mace muttered. “Me and Dreggs won. Raven won. Wolf even got the job done. If Predator would have pulled his weight, we would have had a sweep, but I guess that was too much to ask of him.” Upon hearing of Mace’s comments, Predator shook his head sadly and announced his decision. “I’ve done my best to make this work,” he said. “I’m through. Mace drove Destructon 3000 away. He’s been pulling our whole team apart. I can’t take any more. I apologize to Raven, Dreggs, and Wolf, but I’m out of here. I have a friend who needs me elsewhere, and I’m going to do the right thing and help him. If Mace thinks W. A. R. is better off without me, then he’s got what he wanted now.”
CPC PRESS CONFERENCE STUNS THE GWF On July 29, the day after Starclash, Magnus Colby called a press conference in the media center of the Deimos Intergalactic Arena. His unexpected announcements sent shock waves through the GWF. “I warned you all that we were going to make some changes,” Colby stated. “The time has come to announce them. First, let’s deal with Doomsayer’s Executive Order. We had already added Mayhem and Halcón Oro. As you may have all noticed, U. S. Patriot has also rejoined us. Along with Transrevolver, the last member of the team was to be Kati, but I have no idea what he was doing in attacking the Patriot, and I have not heard from him. As far as I’m concerned, he is suspended from the CPC. In his place, we are bringing Dynamo back from the USWF. Dynamo has some obligations to fulfill in the other federation, but he will join Executive Order within two weeks. “Now let’s talk about Penthouse Suite,” Colby continued. “Last night at Starclash, a lot of people wanted to know where Colossus was. Well, I’ll tell you where he was. Colossus was training for his CPC debut, which will take place next week. That’s right: Colossus will be joining Paragon, Terminus, Prodigy, and CPC Rising on the most powerful team in wrestling.” Colby smiled as he spoke on. “Since Mesmer was banished, we also need a manager. We now have the best. As you saw last night, Thantos is no longer aligned with the Aethrans. Instead, GWF legend Thantos will be joining us immediately as the new manager of Penthouse Suite.” Thantos stepped out onto the stage and shook hands with Colby. For the GWF, this press conference marked a new low. With the defections of Thantos, Colossus, and U. S. Patriot, Colby has cut into the heart of the federation and is closer than ever to the takeover he has promised to accomplish.
USWF Report
MARIKEL ARRIVES TO JOIN CPC Marikel Magnifique, a two time former USWF tag team champion as a member of Pure Power, returned to the federation on June 24 at the Capella Star Gardens for a press conference at which he officially took control of Magnus Colby’s USWF troops. “Things started off well enough this year for the CPC in this league, but they have gone downhill fast,” Marikel stated to the press. “Pathfinder lost his title. Class Act had the tag belts, Unknown Soldier the Interstellar title, and Witherspoon the cruiserweight belt. Now all of that is gone. Well, I’m here to put things right. Shadowmaster and Parsec will still manage their respective teams, but I’ll be overseeing the entire operation. Mr. Colby has placed his confidence in me, and I do not plan to let him down.” The new CPC captain smiled as he continued. “My first action is a roster change or two for the War Games,” he said. “First, I will be replacing Reganald Witherspoon on our active roster. Witherspoon will still be here in the USWF but will not be competing in the War Games. Second, Armageddon is leaving the USWF for now. They need a break, so we’re giving them one. They will be replaced by our newest members, who will be managed by Shadowmaster. You know them as the Twin Wonders, Pyramid and Sphynx. But as a team, they are now joining us and returning to the name that they used at the beginning of their careers together: Ancient Terror.” The announcement of Pyramid and Sphynx defecting from the United Front shocked the press corps, as no one had predicted the move. Later the same day, their former manager, Silver Ace, issued the following statement: “I am stunned by this action. We had no warning and no knowledge that the CPC had been in contact with any of our men. I’m sure that every member of our team feels as betrayed as I do. Fortunately, Eric Cage is ready to return from his injury, and Charon had already decided to return from the GWF to join us. He and Scorpio will now become one of our regular tag teams. We will survive, but this decision by Pyramid and Sphynx is a sad thing to see.” Neither Shadowmaster nor Parsec had much to say about their new leader. “Mr. Colby gives the orders,” Shadowmaster stated. “If he says Marikel is in charge, then that’s how it will be. It doesn’t matter if Parsec and I like it or not. We get paid to follow orders. End of subject.”
CENTAURUS COLLISION 2106 The Centaurus Collision was created by the GWF in 2104 as a temporary replacement for the War Dome Warfare Supercard. When the event was discontinued by the GWF after two years due to the reinstatement of War Dome Warfare, the USWF claimed the rights to the supercard. The Collision is held at the Alpha Centauri Colonnade.
The main event for the first USWF version of the Centaurus Collision, which was held on July 13, 2106, was originally scheduled to be a USWF title match between High Lord Marlicus and Pathfinder. However, when Pathfinder suffered a serious injury and was unable to compete, Commissioner Guile refused to grant the title shot to anyone else. Instead, Guile changed the main event to a four-man elimination tag contest matching Black Hawk, Crazy Horse, Toltecas, and Jason the Canadian Bomber against Marlicus, Captain Dalcost, Holocaust, and Gorthanor. Guile made numerous controversial decisions in arranging the card. First he ordered USWF Tag Team Champions Eternal Damnation to defend their titles against Sir Garis of Condrell and Stargazer even though Shadow Assassin was not fully recovered from an injury. He likewise forced Lycanthrope to put up his Interstellar title against CPC member Mantric, ignoring Lycanthrope’s serious shoulder injury. Finally, Guile signed a title match between Cruiserweight Champion Maccavity and CPC member Conrad Chase, who had wrestled only four matches in singles competition all year.
Finally, the CPC accepted the challenge of U. S. Patriot for a match that would end in exile for either the Patriot or CPC manager Shadowmaster. The Unknown Soldier agreed to meet the Patriot in a cage match, with Shadowmaster handcuffed to Lance At-las at ringside. The Patriot returned from the GWF for one night to compete on the supercard.
CENTAURUS COLLISION HIGHLIGHTS Dynamo and Vulcan topped Scorpio and Charon when Scorpio was disqualified Crow pinned the Mad Jester with a frankensteiner Anamania (Silverfang and Cougar Claw) beat the Clean Up Crew in a Titan Death match The Hollywood Stud upset Marikel Magnifique in a Lepus Stun Rod Match; Father Steel and Bishop Hell outlasted Dagger Mack and Homicide in a Four Weapons of Destruction match when Homicide was unable to continue. Eric Cage stunned Splatter with a “Caged Fury” in a wild Falls Count Anywhere Match The Gladiators of Aethra (Ravage, Ruin, Violator, and Nightmare) downed the Aethran Rebels (Wrath, Venom, Blitz, and Scar) in an Aethran Ultimate Escape match. Lycanthrope, fighting despite an injury, retained his Interstellar title by pinning Mantric. The cage match between U. S. Patriot and the Unknown Soldier was declared no contest when both men, along with Shadowmaster, attacked Lance At-las before the bell. The Imperial Powers defeated the Star Defenders in the four-man elimination main event.
Centaurus Collision Wrap-up The first USWF Centaurus Collision was one of the federation’s best supercards ever, with numerous excellent matches and some great drama. However, the evening was marred by the brutal beating of Lance At-las by the CPC. U. S. Patriot returned from the GWF claiming that he wanted to redeem himself in the eyes of Star Defenders manager At-las by defeating a CPC wrestler and having Shadowmaster exiled. He requested that Lance be handcuffed to Shadowmaster to prevent interference, and the CPC further stipulated that the match against the Unknown Soldier take place in a cage. However, the entire challenge, as well as the Patriot’s return to the GWF’s Federation Defense Fighters this year, turned out to be a set-up. Lance entered the cage with the Patriot to be handcuffed to Shadowmaster. However, as soon as the cuffs were on Lance, the Patriot swiftly attached the other end to the ring ropes while the Unknown Soldier swung the cage door closed. What followed was one of the most brutal beatings in USWF history, with the Soldier, Shadowmaster, and the Patriot pounding the helpless At-las for over five minutes, concentrating especially on the knee injury that had ended Lance’s wrestling career. When Crazy Horse, Black Hawk, Toltecas, and the Canadian Bomber tried to rescue their manager, they were cut off by the rest of the CPC. Finally the attack was interrupted when Wrath, Blitz, Venom, Silverfang, and Cougar Claw broke in and helped to overwhelm the CPC. The unconscious and bloody At-las was immediately transferred to a hospital. AT-LAS DECLARED OUT OF ACTION INDEFINITELY On the day following the Centaurus Collision, the USWF issued a press release stating that Star Defender manager Lance At-las would be unable to return to ringside for at least the remainder of 2106 and possibly longer. Lance suffered a reinjury of the knee that caused his retirement from GWF action as well as numerous head and back injuries in his betrayal by U. S. Patriot at the supercard.
Reactions to the announcement were immediate. The Star Defenders chose Jason the Canadian Bomber to be their spokesman and new leader. “I’m no manager,” Jason stated. “The guys asked me to take over for now, so I’ll do it, but we need Lance. I can’t believe the Patriot has sunk this low. We really believed he had come back to our side, but I guess he never really left the CPC at all. He was my closest friend once, and I’m very disappointed in this. I don’t think I’ll ever trust him again.” CPC leader Marikel Magnifique also had statements to make. “At-las stuck his nose into our business once to often,” Marikel declared. “He helped get Massif to turn on us, and we lost Mesmer as a manager as a result. This should be a lesson to everyone: don’t mess with the CPC. We take care of business.” Even USWF Commissioner Reynard B. Guile seemed upset by the incident despite his obvious CPC sympathies. “It was horrible to watch,” Guile stated. “Of course, since the match had not even started, and At-las was not a wrestler, I don’t know if I have authority to do anything. I am disturbed by what happened, but at this time I am not taking any action. I need to consult with . . . with some advisors to decide if anything can be done.”
GWWF Report
LADY PAIN WINS THIRD ANNUAL QUEEN’S CHALLENGE The third annual GWWF “Queen’s Challenge” supercard took place on July 4, 2106 at the Mira Galaxy Dome. The Challenge, which is the only independent card currently held by the GWWF, includes tag team and singles tournaments involving all active wrestlers in the federation. All matches in both tournaments are fought under Titan Death rules. The winners receive automatic shots at the GWWF singles and tag team championships. One major point of controversy this year took place when Supernova was attacked and injured by Voodoo Queen and Angel on June 26. Because of the injuries she suffered, Supernova was declared medically ineligible of the supercard, thus removing one of the top contenders for the singles title. If the CPC thought that it was increasing its odds of winning by eliminating Supernova, however, Colby’s troops were mistaken. Lady Pain, a two-time former GWWF champion, emerged as the winner of the singles tournament by defeating her teammate Dream Lover in the finals. Lady Pain’s win was all the more impressive because of the tough road she survived in the event, overcoming challenges from the defending Queen’s Challenge winner Hysteria, current GWWF champion Voodoo Queen, and the popular newcomer Kailani to reach the finals. In the tag team tournament, GWWF Tag Team Champions Leather and Lace seemed to be cruising through the event with ease until they were stunned by Maxine and Darla in the finals. The surprise tournament champions had been winless in 2106 and were the lowest seeded regular team in the Challenge, but Darla pinned Leather after Maxine twice landed the “Dude’s Choice” to claim the win and a shot at the title belts.

GWF 2106 Highlights
From WPU 9.6
KATI QUITS THE CPC As the competing teams in the War Games made their final adjustments before the deadline for roster changes passed, the most dramatic switch came when long-time CPC member Kati announced his break with the Corporation. “I’ve had enough of Colby and all the rest of them,” stated the Samoan star, who had been the captain of Colby’s USWF team but who defended Jack of Diamonds against CPC member U. S. Patriot at the recent Starclash supercard. “For a long time, I was a leading figure in the CPC. I ran the operation in the USWF. I got paid well, no doubt. But now what I built in the USWF has fallen apart, and they sent Marikel to fix it. Marikel! What does he know about running a team? I’ve been pushed to the back for a year now. And I’m sick of it. “This is not a matter of jealousy,” Kati continued. “I’m not just upset because I’m not in charge anymore. The problem is that I now realize loyalty means nothing to Colby. I don’t want to be on a team where that’s the case. And I don’t want to be a part of a group that is capable of what was done to Lance At-Las. That’s why I helped Jack of Diamonds: the Patriot makes me sick. I know I’ve done a lot of rotten things myself, like helping Bishop Hell blind Pulsar a few years ago, but I don’t want to be associated with this garbage any more.” Finally Kati smiled. “I’ve decided to return to the man who brought me to the GWF. I doubt that anyone remembers that I was first a member of the FDF. It didn’t last long. But Commander Sam needs help with the Patriot gone. I’ve battled with Jack of Diamonds and Archon a lot in the last year, and I respect them. Sam has agreed to give me another chance with the FDF. I’ll show him that I mean what I’m saying here.” The CPC offered no official comment on Kati’s decision, having already replaced him with U. S. Patriot and Dynamo.
PARAGON TOPS CHAOS IN FIRST MEETING The much anticipated first GWF contest between Chaos and Paragon took place on August 4 at the Hyades Pyramid. For more than half of the year, Paragon had avoided matches with his old WGX rival. As soon as Chaos won the Galaxian title at Starclash, however, the CPC star demanded an immediate meeting. Interim Commissioner Solaris wished to postpone the contest until it could be held at a larger arena, but Paragon was insistent and therefore was granted the non-title contest. Chaos controlled the match in the early going, even catching his opponent in the “Bow of Defeat,” but Paragon managed the break the hold. After a mistake by Chaos, Paragon caught the champion with a backbreaker and rolled him up for a quick pin. Chaos, who was more surprised than hurt when pinned, lost control and attacked Paragon after the bell, injuring his victim’s ribs before storming out of the ring. Paragon was expected to miss approximately two weeks of action, but the victory put him in line for his first legitimate Galaxian title shot. He is expected to receive his opportunity at the Mira Ceti War Memorial of Cetus on August 22.
GLADIATORS FINALLY CLAIM TAG BELTS FROM TRANSREVOLVER After several frustrating attempts, Thunder and Overkill became seven time GWF tag team champions by defeating Transrevolver at the Brymstone Battledome on August 8.
The Gladiators had defeated the champions numerous times by disqualification and in non-title contests. For the match on Brymstone, Interim Commissioner Solaris named Bounty Hunter as the referee over the protests of the CPC. The commissioner’s decision turned out to be crucial in determining the outcome. Thunder and Overkill dominated the match until Monad went down to the “Decapitator,” at which point U. S. Patriot and Halcón Oro stormed the ring. Instead of disqualifying the champions, however, Bounty Hunter clotheslined both interlopers out of the ring while Overkill hammered Dreadnaught and Thunder landed a “Tempest.” Hunter then counted the unconscious Monad out and handed the belts to the Gladiators.
After the card, Doomsayer spoke out angrily. “We were robbed,” he stated. “Bounty Hunter has no business attacking our men. He’s supposed to be a referee. If anything, it should have been a disqualification. If this had happened to someone else when Grogan was commissioner, they would have accused him of favoritism. But I guess with Solaris in charge, stealing belts from the CPC is okay.”
Solaris had a different view. “The Patriot and Halcón Oro should not have been anywhere near the ring,” the interim commissioner said. “Bounty Hunter did exactly what he was hired to do, which was to keep the match between the competitors and prevent interference. Transrevolver kept the belts for a long time by getting disqualified whenever they were in trouble, but this time their luck ran out.”
Whatever the way they held on to the belts, Transrevolver ended with an impressive title reign of 13 defenses over a period of nearly three months. At present they are the top contenders for the tag team of the year award.
SKINHEAD WINS ONE TITLE, LOSES ANOTHER The impressive Interplanetary title reign of Alpha Force came to end at the Sirius Silver Spire on August 15 when he lost the belt to GWF Cruiserweight Champion Skinhead in one of the best matches in the GWF this year.
The twenty-three minute contest went back and forth several times, with both wrestlers repeatedly applying their finishing maneuvers without success. At the fourteen minute mark, Skinhead knocked down the referee on a deathjump. For several minutes the combatants brawled with no restraint, with Alpha Force absorbing the majority of the punishment, until at last GWF head referee Bounty Hunter arrived in the ring. As always, Bounty Hunter allowed the wrestlers almost complete freedom, especially on the arena floor. Both men were cut and bleeding badly in several places, but Alpha Force soon began to wear down under Skinhead’s relentless assault. Finally Skinhead gave up on his finisher and applied a sleeper hold that put the champion away.
“I’ve got to hand it to Skinhead for this one,” Alpha Force said later. “I don’t like him, but that was one of the best matches I’ve had in years. Bounty Hunter let us do things our own way. It wasn’t all legal, but it was fair. I’ll be back at him soon, but for now I congratulate him.”
Four days later at the Sagitta Forum, Skinhead’s luck went sour as he lost the cruiserweight title to Rising Sun. Perhaps still feeling the effects of his tremendous match with Alpha Force, the champion never really managed to get his offense going against the Titan high-flyer. When Rising Sun hit his “Sunset Spectacular,” Sleeze and Johnny Rocket tried to interfere, but the challenger coolly dropkicked Sleeze into his manager and then landed a deathjump on Skinhead to score the pin. The victory marked the second time Rising Sun has taken the cruiserweight strap from Skinhead, the first having occurred at the Tethys Sports Center in May of 2105. However, Skinhead seemed undisturbed by the loss.
“I still got the belt I want,” the Interplanetary champ stated. “Rising Sun can have the little guys’ title. I proved I’m part of the big time now, and I plan to stay on top for a long time.”
WOLF SNAPS, INJURES TERMINUS IN DQ LOSS Wolf, suffering through a frustrating year in terms of both wins and losses and communication with his W. A. R. teammates, lost control on a card at the Cube on August 17 and took out his frustrations on Terminus. The Animan and the Aran superstar have exchanged blows and insults on several previous occasions this year.
Terminus won the match when Wolf was disqualified on the arena floor. After the bell, Wolf began howling savagely, grabbed Terminus in the “Savage Face Claw,” and refused to let go until GWF officials pulled them apart.
“I’ve taken about all I can stand this year,” Wolf stormed to reporters after returning to the locker room. “I’m especially sick of old Brickface. He’s been running his mouth all year, and he got what he deserved tonight. There ain’t gonna be no apologies. But he ain’t the only one. I’m fed up with a bunch of people, and from now on I’m gonna do things my own way. Anybody who don’t like it can try to stop me.”
BATTLES CONTINUE BETWEEN CHAOS AND PARAGON Having finally begun, the long-awaited feud between Chaos and Paragon has quickly developed into a war that will provide the main event at the upcoming War Dome Warfare supercard.
Paragon won the first match, a non-title contest at the Hyades Pyramid on August 4. On August 22 the two met again at the Mira Ceti War Memorial with the title on the line. Chaos won the match despite outside interference by Thantos and the CPC. One week later the pair fought for a third time at the Pollux Starfire Arena, this time with Paragon winning by disqualification. Finally, in a non-title Titan Death match at the Preasepe Tower of Cancer on September 2, Chaos kicked out after a “Final Overture” but was then knocked unconscious when he took Paragon’s big boot in his face.
After his loss at the Preasepe Tower, Chaos issued a challenge. “I’m sick of that big idiot already,” he fumed. “I’m sick of his CPC cronies getting involved in my matches, and I’m sick of him getting lucky. I’m ready to settle this. War Dome Warfare is coming up in two weeks. If Paragon has the guts to fight me where no one can help him, let him step into a cage. I’ll bring the Galaxian belt, and if he can beat me by himself, it’s his. But I’m warning him, I’m not like the Matador of M83. I won’t lay down. If he wants the belt, he’ll have to knock me out to take it.”
WOLF LOSES CONTROL AGAIN, SHEIK INJURED For the second time in a month, Wolf has gone on an unexpected rampage and done serious damage to an opponent. The latest incident occurred on September 10 at the Maxus Trinity Towers, where Wolf’s victim was the Draconian Sheik. The Sheik had been enjoying his best match in weeks, having completely dominated Raven, and was about to apply the “Draconian Backbreaker” to his helpless opponent when Wolf and Amazonia arrived on the scene. While Amazonia attacked the Terrorists from behind and knocked them out with her spear, Wolf climbed into the ring and assaulted the Sheik. After pounding his target for a few seconds, the Animan superstar applied his “Savage Face Claw” for over a minute, refusing to break the hold until the Sheik was unconscious. “I warned everybody,” Wolf declared. “I’m through taking crap from anyone, and so is Amazonia. I ain’t never liked the Sheik, so I took him out. From now on, that’s the way it’s gonna be. You thought Splatter was bad? Well, Splatter’s just crazy. I can do more damage than he ever thought of, and I got the mean streak to do it.” Despite the brutal nature of the attack, Interim Commissioner Solaris did not take immediate action. “I need to review this situation,” Solaris stated. “After his vicious attacks on Terminus and the Draconian Sheik, Wolf has definitely shown that he has a problem. I don’t want to let him off without penalty, but we’ve all known Wolf for years, and this is a strange situation. In addition, we have War Dome Warfare in four days. The Aethran fans have been promised an Ultimate Escape Match between the Gladiators and W. A. R. Rather than disappoint those fans, I will allow Wolf to participate at War Dome Warfare. After the supercard, I will make a decision on his status.”
WAR DOME WARFARE THE BIG MEN COLLIDE The War Dome Warfare supercard was created in 2099 at the urging of Thakur. It was held annually at the Aethra War Dome until 2104, when Commissioner Grogan canceled the card due to a political dispute with the Aethran High Command. After a two year absence, the card was reinstituted for 2106 at Aethra’s huge new facility, The Warrior Village Coliseum, and took place on September 14 before a sellout crowd of over 144, 000 fans.
WAR DOME WARFARE HIGHLIGHTS Titan Flyers topped the Mercenaries when Talon pinned Vigilante with a “Talon’s Prey” Death’s Head knocked out Dreadnaught with a “Funeral March” Manslaughter beat Dragonmaster with a “Snap, Crack, Pop” Cruiserweight Champion Rising Sun won by DQ over Enigma when Manslaughter interfered Archon made Blazing Skull submit in the ring in a Shandor Street Fight Match Terminus outlasted Alpha Force in a tough Castor Chain Match Mayhem won the Heavy Metal title by hammering Kati with a spinemasher CPC Rising beat X-Termination when Janus made Grunge submit to the “Gordian Knot” Jack of Diamonds blasted U. S. Patriot with a “Diamond Cut” in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Colossus took the Interplanetary title from Skinhead with a sleeper hold Heracles surprised Pegasus in a Castor Chain Match The Gladiators of Aethra outlasted W. A. R. in an Ultimate Escape Match Chaos squeezed out Paragon in a cage match to retain the Galaxian title
War Dome Warfare Wrap-up: Another Breakup For W. A. R. The return of War Dome Warfare after a two-year absence turned out to be one of the most exciting and violent cards in recent memory. Dragonmaster, Hammer, Grunge, Jack of Diamonds, Painmaster, Thunder, and Mace all suffered injuries of varying degrees, either in the course of their matches or in attacks after the bell.
The worst incident of the night involved the Fighting Titans and the Masked Assassins after Manslaughter defeated Dragonmaster. The Ninja Assassins came to the ring after the bell and helped Manslaughter continue his assault on his opponent. Rising Sun and Ursa Major soon joined the fray, but Dragonmaster suffered ligament damage in his knee that may put him out of action for as much as two months.
In spite of all of the injuries, Commissioner Solaris issued an immediate suspension only for the Ninja Assassins and Manslaughter. However, the commissioner promised to review all other incidents, especially the one involving Jack of Diamonds, U. S. Patriot, and Dynamo. Jack suffered a shoulder injury that could keep him out of action for over a month.
The Castor Chain Match between Terminus and Alpha Force was a great battle. The main event was also an excellent contest, with Paragon controlling the action most of the way and nearly landing his “Final Overture” before Chaos broke the hold and came away with the win.
The card’s most dramatic moment, however, came at the end of the Ultimate Escape Match between the Gladiators and W. A. R. When Thunder escaped to end the contest, the two members of W. A. R. who remained in the cage, Mace and Wolf, exchanged angry words and then attacked each other. Raven and Dreggs returned to the ring to pull their teammates apart, but yet another break in the W. A. R. camp had obviously occurred.
“I said I was sick of a lot of people,” the furious Wolf stated later. “I’m sicker of Mace than of anyone. I’m through with W. A. R. They can count my matches for War Games points if they want to, but there’s no way I’m teaming with them again. And for Raven’s sake, I’ll let this drop for now, but when the War Games are over Mace and me are gonna have some things to settle.”
USWF Report
PREDATOR’S RETURN STUNS USWF An unexpected series of events that may have long-term effects on the USWF took place on a pair of cards in early August. The unannounced return of three-time former USWF champion Predator would have been news in itself, but the manner in which he made his return was even more dramatic. The first surprise came at the Aethra War Dome on August 3. Wrath was scheduled to make his first ever appearance on Aethra in the War Games matchup between the Warrior Legion and the Conquerors. The incredible Heavy Metal champion was slated to face Bishop Hell in the final match, but the Conquerors surprised the War Games leading Legion and clinched the victory before the main event could take place.
Without a War Games decision on the line, Wrath refused to come to the ring for his match. “I’ll fight Bishop Hell any time he wants,” Wrath stated. “I’m not afraid of him. But I didn’t want to come here tonight, and I only agreed because I felt I owed it to my team. If the team has nothing at stake, I am not performing for the Aethran scum on this planet.”
The angry Aethran fans were on the verge of a riot when Predator made his unexpected and stunning entrance. The Aethran superstar marched to the ring and announced that he would substitute for his half-brother Wrath for the evening, thus relieving Wrath of his obligation to fight on Aethra. Predator eventually lost a tough match when Bishop Hell hit him with a “Hellfire.”
Six days later at the Gemma Golden Crown Arena, Predator took part in an interview that answered all questions about his return. “First, I want to say that I am not here to help my brother,” he stated. “Wrath and I have called a truce, but we still don’t talk much. This was a one-time thing. I know how he feels about fighting on Aethra, and I understand his reasons. Since I was there, I helped out. But I am not rejoining Massacre or the Aethran Rebels. I have no problem with them, and I appreciate everything Massacre has done for me, but I have another purpose.
“I am here because the Interstellar Rumble is coming up in a few days, and I want a match with Black Hawk.”
The crowd was shocked by the announcement, knowing that Black Hawk and Predator had been close friends for several years. Black Hawk himself emerged from the locker room moments later, a confused and angry expression on his face.
“What’s going on?” Black Hawk demanded. “I thought we were friends. I have enough problems right now. What do you mean coming out here to challenge me?”
Predator stared at Black Hawk for several seconds before answering. “Do you know that you’re having a lousy year, my friend? You’ve been an embarrassment lately. You lost to Landiron a week ago. You’re supposed to be a champion, and you can’t beat mid-card wrestlers.”
Black Hawk’s face darkened. “I know what I’ve been doing,” he snapped. “I know a lot more about it than you do. What I don’t know is why you want to make things worse.”
The young Aethran shook his head. “Hawk, believe it or not, I’m still your friend,” he said calmly. “I came back to help you get it together. And the only way I can help figure out what you’re doing wrong is to get in the ring with you. We’re going to fight at the Rumble, and I want the best you have. I’m going to push you until you snap out of this state you’re in and start looking like yourself again.”
Black Hawk paused for a moment to consider the situation. Then, without smiling, he nodded in agreement. The two young stars left the stage together, Predator’s sudden departure from the GWF and arrival in the USWF now explained and his friendship with the slumping Black Hawk apparently in tact.
INTERSTELLAR RUMBLE 2106 The Interstellar Rumble was created as a GWF supercard from 2095 to 2097. In 2101 the USWF revived the event as an annual year-ending spectacular at the Mimas Spectrum. The Rumble was moved to the Rhea Forum of Saturn as a mid-year card in 2103, and in 2106 it was relocated to Earth’s Victory Garden, the USWF’s largest venue.
The 2106 Interstellar Rumble took place on August 14 in front of over 103,000 fans, the largest crowd in USWF history. The main event was scheduled to be the USWF Heavyweight title match between champion High Lord Marlicus and Pathfinder of Ceres, the man Marlicus defeated for the belt earlier this year.
INTERSTELLAR RUMBLE HIGHLIGHTS Hollywood Stud pinned Marikel Magnifique with a running knee in less than one minute Toltecas beat Reganald Witherspoon in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Ravage outlasted Venom in a very bloody Torture Chamber Match Splatter had no trouble defeating Brave in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match Conrad Chase held on to the cruiserweight title by topping Crow in an excellent match Predator put Black Hawk away with an “Aethran Lock” Guthlac won by disqualification over Interstellar Champion Lycanthrope Wrath blasted Bishop Hell with a “Reprisal” to keep his Heavy Metal belt Homicide got the win over the Unknown Soldier in a Castor Chain Match Silverfang and Cougar Claw won by disqualification over USWF Tag Team Champions Eternal Damnation when Bishop Hell and the Priest of Pain interfered USWF Champion High Lord Marlicus retained his title with a disqualification loss to Pathfinder of Ceres when Gorthanor interfered.
Interstellar Rumble Wrap-up The Interstellar title match between Lycanthrope and Guthlac was disappointing. Both men sent their managers away from ringside to make sure there was no interference, and they had a fine battle going until Lycanthrope was disqualified for accidentally hitting the referee.
The disqualification in the tag team title match was far from accidental, as Bishop Hell and the Priest of Pain stormed the ring as soon as the previously injured Shadow Assassin had any difficulty. Likewise, Gorthanor blatantly attacked Pathfinder to save High Lord Marlicus’ title. For the second straight supercard, the Hollywood Stud defeated CPC leader Marikel Magnifique with ease. The Stud has become one of the primary targets for his former CPC teammates, but he continues to roll up the wins.
ANAMANIA CAPTURES TAG TEAM BELTS Months of near-misses and frustration came to an end for Anamania on August 30 at the Callisto Centroplex as they defeated Eternal Damnation for the USWF tag team championship. Throughout 2106, Cougar Claw and Silverfang had been denied the belts through disqualifications, interference, and a simple refusal of Commissioner Reynard B. Guile to grant them title shots. For the major card at the Centroplex, however, Guile finally relented and ordered a Titan Death Match for the championship. Anamania took full advantage, dominating their opponents for most of the ten minute contest and hammering both of the champions before Cougar Claw finally pinned Shadow Assassin with a “Death Pounce” to win the belts. The defeat marked the end of a title reign of over three months for Eternal Damnation, an impressive record despite their many disqualification losses. The victorious Silverfang won his second major belt, having previously held the Interstellar championship, while Cougar Claw, an original member of the USWF, became a champion for the first time since his brief Heavy Metal title reign in the federation’s inaugural year of 2099.
PATHFINDER TAKES USWF TITLE IN CONTROVERSIAL WIN Pathfinder of Ceres became the USWF heavyweight champion for the fourth time with a disputed victory over High Lord Marlicus at the Regulus Civic Stadium on September 12.
Because of several disqualifications in previous matches between the two combatants, Commissioner Guile ordered a Titan Death Match on Regulus. Marlicus controlled the early moments of the contest, and at the five minute mark he leveled Pathfinder with a “High Lord’s Glory” and appeared to be poised to win the match. Unexpectedly, Marikel Magnifique slid into the ring and knocked the champion down from behind, preventing the pin and changing the momentum. Pathfinder took quick advantage, blasting Marlicus with two consecutive “Ceres Crunches.” Captain Dalcost attempted to intervene on Marlicus’ behalf, but he was held off by Marikel as the referee counted the champion out. When he regained his senses, Marlicus was furious over the match’s outcome. “This was ridiculous,” stated Tirrion Astri, manager and spokesman for Marlicus. “No one is supposed to interfere in a Titan Death Match. How could Guile let the match go on? And when Dalcost tries to even the score, he gets held back. Pathfinder was beaten. Everybody saw it. He couldn’t get it done without Marikel’s help. We want the belt back, and we demand an immediate rematch.” Marikel, the new leader of the CPC forces in the USWF, had a different view. “Mr. Colby sent me here to straighten things out,” he gloated. “I guess we’ve fixed one problem. Marlicus stole Pathfinder’s belt earlier this year. Now we have it back. Everything is going according to plan. We will have the rest of the gold back soon, just as this team had it all earlier this year before things went bad and I had to come in. Then we’ll go on to win the War Games. It looks to me like we’re on track.”
GWWF REPORT
QUEEN’S CHALLENGE TAG CHAMPS SUFFER BREAKUP Just one month after their stunning victory in the Queen’s Challenge tag team tournament, the Ornaments appear to have dissolved their partnership. The breakup took place on a card at the Whirlpool Armory on August 11. Maxine and Darla lost a tag match to Kianyra and Black Widow when Kianyra pinned Maxine. Darla never managed to tag into the match. After the bell, Maxine began to berate her partner. Brainstorm entered the ring and joined in the verbal abuse, then grabbed Darla’s arms while Maxine began to slap the younger woman.
The slaps soon turned to punches and kicks, and Brainstorm was helping Maxine set Darla up for a spike piledriver when, unexpectedly, Supernova dove into the ring. Right behind her was Pegasus, who blasted Brainstorm while Supernova dropkicked Maxine out of the ring. Darla’s attackers made a hasty retreat, while Pegasus scooped up the injured young woman and carried her out of the ring.
“It was just getting ridiculous,” Supernova explained later. “Darla is just a kid. She didn’t lose that match, and in any case she didn’t deserve that abuse. Pegasus and I never have liked Brainstorm and his airhead Maxine. From now on, if they want to abuse Darla, they have to go through us.”
Brainstorm, on the other hand, was furious. “They had no right to interfere in my business,” he fumed. “Darla is mine. She’s always been mine. If she knows what’s good for her, she’ll come back to me, or she’s going to be very sorry.”

GWF 2106 Highlights
From WPU 9.7
DEFENDERS ARE BACK-TO-BACK WAR GAMES CHAMPS The Defenders of the Galaxy became the first team to win the GWF War Games in consecutive years when they passed the two hundred point goal at the Vega Palladium on October 22, 2106.
The combined team of the Citadel of the Elite and the Rocket Men had made a desperate run in the final weeks of the Games, and the Defenders entered the final card leading the Citadel/Rocket Men by a single point, 199-198. Alpha Force then took the Defenders over the 200 point mark early in the Palladium card with a win over his feud rival Vengeance in less than two minutes.
Because War Games rules stipulate that teams may continue to score points until the final card concludes, the Defenders’ victory remained in doubt even after Alpha Force’s win. However, the Citadel/Rocket Men team could not mount another charge. Brainstorm was pounded by Thunder, Skinhead went down to his feud rival Rising Sun, and X-Termination was beaten by War Games Tag Team Champions Hunter’s Moon. The Defenders then clinched their victory as the Star Patrol downed CPC Rising and War Games Singles Champion Pegasus dominated Paragon. Chaos’ GWF title match win over Mandrill was not enough to save his team as Star Warrior’s Defenders triumphed by a 206-201 final margin.
Although the Defenders became the first official back-to-back champions, only Pegasus, Alpha Force, and manager Star Warrior were with the team in both years. Space Ranger and the Galactic Trooper came from the USWF this year to replace 2105 team members Thunder and Overkill. However, the win does make the tag team combo of the Star Patrol the first wrestlers to be members of winning War Games teams in both the GWF and the USWF. Massacre and Lance At-Las have War Games rings from both federations, but both earned their USWF rings as managers.
The victory also gave both Pegasus and Alpha Force their fourth War Games rings, matching the record shared by Wolf, Chaos, and the Matador of M83. Pegasus won one ring with the Citadel of the Elite in 2098 and three with the Defenders in 2102, 05, and 06. Alpha Force was a member of winning Defenders teams in 2093, 2102, 05, and 06. Star Warrior now owns five rings, but the last two have come as a manager.
ENIGMA REGAINS CRUISERWEIGHT BELT Enigma joined a growing list of two-time cruiserweight champions by defeating Rising Sun for the title at the Morningstar Temple on September 27. Rising Sun appeared to have control early in the match, but he made the mistake of taking the fight to the arena floor. Enigma gained the advantage and blasted the champion with his “Feet of Fury,” scoring the pin in just under six minutes. Enigma follows Rising Sun and Skinhead as two-time holders of the cruiserweight title. The only other wrestler to have claimed the strap is Prodigy, who also held it longest with 13 defenses over a period of six months.
SOLARIS STRIPS COLOSSUS OF IP TITLE Interim Commissioner Solaris, stating that he is “fed up” with the tactics of the Colby/Pelf Corporation, suspended Prodigy, Terminus, and Colossus and stripped Colossus of the Interplanetary title on October 5. The action came immediately after a card at the Mimas Spectrum on which Heracles, after defeating Colossus in a non-title match, was attacked and injured by Prodigy, Terminus, and Colossus. The assault hobbled Heracles for the remainder of the War Games as his team fought to catch up to the Defenders of the Galaxy. Just one week earlier, Solaris had suspended U. S. Patriot and Halcón Oro for a vicious attack on Dark Justice. At the time of the incident, the Patriot’s status was already under review after he and Dynamo had injured Jack of Diamonds at the War Dome Warfare Supercard. Dynamo had already been suspended for assaulting Powerhouse a few days after War Dome Warfare. The suspensions to Oro, Colossus, Prodigy, and Terminus put them out of action until the end of the War Games. Dynamo was suspended until December, while the Patriot was exiled from the GWF for the remainder of 2106. Not surprisingly, CPC managers Thantos and Doomsayer were outraged. “How can he do this?” Doomsayer demanded. “He just throws the Patriot out for the rest of the year? He sends Dynamo off for two months? A week ago he suspended Halcón Oro, and last month Monad, too. All of these injuries happened in the heat of battle. This is unfair, and I want something done about it.” Thantos seemed most upset about the loss of Colossus’ title. “Solaris is going too far,” he growled. “Colossus won that belt in the ring. How can they take it away when he didn’t lose it? Heracles got what he had coming, and suspending my men just shows the bias against us. Obviously Solaris knows that he can’t beat us in the ring, so he’s trying to get rid of us by suspending everyone. I hope the board of governors is watching what their interim commissioner is doing. We need a real commissioner, someone who will be fair to everyone, and we need him soon.” Solaris responded to the protests in his usual calm manner, but his voice carried a note of anger. “I have had enough of the CPC,” he stated. “I’m fed up. All year, and for much of the last few years, they’ve gotten away with things they had no business doing. They injured Lance At-Las. They disgraced the GWF title when the Matador handed it to Paragon. They bought off Massif, a GWF official. Someone has to take a stand, and I’m doing it. I may be an interim commissioner, but as long as I am in charge I’ll solve this problem by putting the CPC on the sideline every time they get out of line.” PAINMASTER WINS FIRST SINGLES TITLE Painmaster, a former holder of both the GWF and USWF tag team championships along with Tocsin, claimed the first singles title of his wrestling career when he defeated Mayhem for the Heavy Metal belt at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena of Mars on October 18. Painmaster gained his opportunity for the championship with a win over Mayhem in a non-title cage match four days earlier. Mayhem demanded a chance for revenge, and in the opening moments of the title contest the champion seemed to be in control. However, Painmaster survived Mayhem’s best shots, and when the Aethran renegade missed a deathjump Painmaster quickly slapped on his “Torture Rack” finisher and held on to win the belt.
PROBLEMS SURFACE BETWEEN ALPHA FORCE AND PEGASUS The celebration of the Defenders of the Galaxy after their War Games victory was short-lived as an intense argument between Alpha Force and Pegasus threatened to tear the group apart. Rumors had circulated for some time that Alpha Force objected to the relationship between Pegasus and Supernova. Speculation regarding problems in the group increased after the recent comments by new CPC member Colossus regarding “stupid bickering” between the two superstars. However, whatever problems the Defenders may have had remained behind closed doors until an incident at Ganymede Stadium on October 26. Because the Star Patrol was defending its Interplanetary tag team titles at the Umbriel Skydome on the 26th, Star Warrior was not in attendance at Ganymede Stadium, where both Pegasus and Alpha Force were scheduled to compete. As she has often done when Star Warrior is not present, Supernova accompanied Pegasus to the ring for his match against the Matador of M83. Midway through the match, Pegasus clotheslined the Matador out of the ring, and the CPC star fell directly on top of Omega’s daughter, knocking her to the floor. Pegasus leaped to Supernova’s side, scooped her into his arms, and carried the unconscious young woman to the locker room area for medical attention. The Matador managed to roll back into the ring before the ten count and received a countout victory. Supernova was not seriously injured in the incident, but her brother Alpha Force, who had fought earlier on the card, was incensed with Pegasus and upbraided his teammate in the locker room area. “I knew something like this would happen!” Alpha stormed at Pegasus in front of several witnesses. “She has no business at ringside with you.” “Hey, she’s okay, Alpha,” Pegasus replied. “It was an accident.” Alpha grew more angry with the response. “As if it matters to you. A playboy like you can always find another girl. But that’s my sister who’s hurt!” Now Pegasus began to grow angry. “She’s an adult, and so am I,” he snapped. “If you have a problem with our relationship, I really don’t care. We’ve been friends for a long time, Alpha, but don’t push your luck here.” The argument continued for several minutes. The two stars did not come to blows, but the obvious tension between them left a dark cloud of uncertainty over the future of the War Games champions.
MAX SHIELD WINS VACANT INTERPLANETARY TITLE Max Shield came away with the Interplanetary title which Interim Commissioner Solaris had stripped from Colossus by winning a sixteen man tournament at the Io Coliseum on November 1. Shield had to fight his way through Dark Justice, Archon, and Painmaster to reach the finals, where he fought the surprising Kati. As he had been throughout the tournament in defeating Malice, Wraith, and Blazing Skull, Kati was impressive in the final match, but eventually the superior speed of Max Shield took over. After controlling the action for several minutes, Shield hit Kati with the “Maximum Impact” at the eleven minute mark and pinned him for the victory. The win gave Shield the Interplanetary belt for the third time in his career but the first in over two years. In his first Interplanetary title reign, Shield ran up 23 successful title defenses, falling one short of the record held by Janus.
TITAN CHALLENGE 2106 The Titan Challenge has been held annually at the Titan Sportatorium since 2105. In 2101 the Challenge became the first GWF supercard to include USWF wrestlers, and in 2102 the two federations initiated the Commissioner’s Cup Challenge Series, a best of seven contest matching the champions and top wrestlers of each league. The GWF won the contest in its first two years, but the USWF was victorious in 2104 and 2105. Also a regular feature of the Titan Challenge is the annual twenty-man battle royal featuring ten wrestlers from each federation. Previous winners of the battle royal have been Cougar Claw (2101), Pegasus (2102), the Barbaric Destroyer (2103), Buck Steele/Genocide (2104), and Mace (2105).
The 2106 Titan Challenge was held on November 6. However, problems immediately surfaced with the Commissioner’s Cup Series: USWF Champion Pathfinder was injured, USWF Interstellar Champion Bishop Hell was banned from the GWF, and GWF Galaxy Cup Tag Team Champions Pure Power had broken up. As a result, the Commissioner’s Cup Challenge was canceled for 2106. In spite of these problems, many USWF stars agreed to compete on the card.
TITAN CHALLENGE 2106 HIGHLIGHTS The Ninja Assassins topped the Titan Flyers when Talon went down to the “Double Edged Sword” Ursa Major surprised USWF Star Maccavity with a Titan Drop Blazing Skull overcame Lycanthrope in a Barbed Wire Cage Match The USWF's Aethran Rebels used a great comeback by Predator to defeat the Gladiators of Aethra in an Aethran Ultimate Escape Match. USWF star Homicide pinned Archon with a “DOA” in a Shandor Street Fight Rising Sun defeated Toltecas (USWF) with a “Sunset Spectacular” Dark Justice knocked out Black Hawk (USWF) with a “Rod of Justice” in a Hitman Match Wraith won the annual twenty man battle royal. Wolf destroyed Mace in the Torture Chamber Conrad Chase (USWF)stunned Enigma with a Cradle Suplex in a battle of cruiserweight champions Thunder and Overkill pounded Ancient Terror (USWF) in a battle of tag team champions Wrath (USWF) annihilated Vengeance in a cage match Max Shield hammered Mandrill in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match In the GWF’s first ever Tirion Triple Threat Match, Pegasus overcame Chaos and High Lord Marlicus (USWF) by pinning Chaos with a “Project Pegasus.”
Titan Challenge Wrap-Up As always, the inter-federation supercard was a huge success. Wraith emerged as the surprise winner of the battle royal when Vyper managed to eliminate Genocide. Rising Sun defeated USWF star Toltecas in a battle of top cruiserweights, Pegasus came out on top in the first Triple Threat Match, and many other great contests made the event an excellent card. One of the most interesting matches was the cage battle between Wrath and Vengeance. The Gladiator leader took the ring microphone before the battle began and declared that he was going to show Wrath that a half-breed could not compare with a true Aethran. Vengeance was then beaten around the ring mercilessly for seven minutes before Wrath finally put him away with the “Gladiator Killer,” from which Vengeance sustained a neck injury.
The greatest individual performance of the day belonged not to Wraith, but to Predator, who suffered a horrible beating in the Ultimate Escape Match but simply refused to quit. When Predator, bleeding from several wounds, finally knocked down both Nightmare and Violator and climbed out of the cage for the victory, he had to be helped to the locker room area by Black Hawk and Massacre. He is expected to miss several USWF cards, but his determination made his reunion with the Aethran Rebels a success. Mace went into his contest with Wolf never having experienced a Torture Chamber Match before, and his inexperience showed against the GWF’s resident expert in the Chamber. Wolf nearly destroyed his former teammate. Finally, USWF Commissioner Guile was roundly criticized when he granted a cruiserweight title shot to Conrad Chase a few months ago, but Chase again silenced the critics by defeating GWF Cruiserweight Champ Enigma in a clean victory.
USWF REPORT
BISHOP CLAIMS FIRST USWF BELT Former GWF Galaxian and Interplanetary Champion Bishop Hell became a title holder for the first time since coming to the USWF when he defeated Lycanthrope for the Interstellar title on September 21 at the Sirius Silver Spire. The title contest was a mismatch almost from the beginning. The Bishop started quickly and controlled the action throughout, hammering Lycanthrope with a variety of moves but avoiding his “Hellfire” to prevent a disqualification. After thirteen minutes Lycanthrope recovered and fought back briefly, but the champion made a mistake on a deathjump and Bishop Hell quickly followed up with a piledriver to score the victory. Lycanthrope thus ended a long but shaky title reign, having held the belt for over four months and twelve defenses despite a losing overall record.
ANCIENT TERROR BLOWS PAST ANAMANIA FOR TAG TITLES The manipulations of Commissioner Reynard B. Guile led to another championship for the CPC as Ancient Terror defeated Anamania for the tag team belts at the Rigel Nova Palladium on September 29. Silverfang and Cougar Claw were stunned when Guile scheduled the title match, as everyone associated with the federation had considered the red-hot tag team of Imperial Bounty to be the top contenders. However, Guile bypassed the rookie duo in favor of the CPC team of Pyramid and Sphynx. Pyramid did most of the damage in the title match, landing his “Cairo Crusher” on Silverfang after just four minutes. Silverfang managed to kick out and tag Cougar Claw, but he was unable to respond when Pyramid again landed his finisher on Cougar moments later. The Animan was crushed by the move, and Pyramid covered him to claim the belts. The win marks the first time that Ancient Terror, formerly known as the Egyptian Spirits and the Twin Wonders, has held the tag belts. It also gave the CPC its third USWF championship, along with Pathfinder’s USWF heavyweight belt and Conrad Chase’s cruiserweight strap.
TRAGEDY AT THE VICTORY GARDEN Perhaps the most horrifying event in USWF history took place at the Victory Garden on November 3 and has apparently ended the career of one of the federation’s young stars. The first incident of the evening occurred after a match between Venom and Dagger Mack. Venom lost the match by disqualification, but after the bell the wrestlers continued to brawl and were joined by several of their teammates. Dagger Mack suffered a broken arm that is likely to keep him out of action for the remainder of 2106. Later that evening, Dagger Mack’s Agents of Fortune teammates Bloodbath and the Barbaric Destroyer faced off against the Aethran team of Nightmare and Ruin. The Aethrans won the match when Ruin pinned Bloodbath. After the bell the losers, perhaps bent on revenge for Dagger Mack against any Aethrans despite the fact that Venom is on a team that feuds against Nightmare and Ruin, attacked their opponents from behind. The Destroyer took Nightmare to the floor while Bloodbath hammered Ruin in the ring. After knocking Ruin to the mat, the massive Bloodbath dropped a knee in the middle of the young Aethran’s back. The scream that escaped from Ruin let everyone in the arena know that something was terribly wrong, but Bloodbath continued to stomp on his victim’s back with his full 360 pound weight. Nightmare attempted to come to his partner’s aid but was held back by the Destroyer. Ravage and Thakur also came from the locker room and attempted to intervene but were intercepted by Skyfire and Hurricane. As if the damage was not enough, Takanu ran to the ring and climbed to the top turnbuckle. Bloodbath picked up the still screaming Ruin and held him over one knee while Takanu came off the turnbuckle with a leg drop across the victim’s neck. Ruin went silent, having apparently passed out from the pain. Takanu landed two more leg drops across the unconscious Aethran’s neck before Blitz and Scar, who have feuded violently with Ruin for years, finally came to their enemy’s rescue. The senseless Ruin was carried from the ring on a stretcher. The USWF issued no official comment on the situation until November 7, the day after the Titan Challenge supercard, when Commissioner Reynard B. Guile called a press conference at the Titan Sportatorium. Appearing on stage with him were the Incredible Badger, Massacre, King Colerain, Parsec, Thakur, and Tirrion Astri. “Obviously, it takes something incredible to get all of these men to appear together,” Guile began. “We do not all manage to agree very often. But we have a difficult job today, and we decided to be here together to show that in this case, we are all in agreement. First, I want to update you on the condition of Ruin. “In the brutal attack by the Agents of Fortune, Ruin of Aethra suffered severe injuries to his neck and spine. His life is not in danger, but the damage to his body is irreversible. He is currently paralyzed from the neck down. The doctors tell us that he is unlikely to walk again. Barring a miracle, his wrestling career is over. “I would like to suspend the entire Agents team for this incident,” Guile continued. “However, I cannot be sure that Hurricane, Skyfire, or even the Barbaric Destroyer was fully aware of the damage being done. None of them directly touched Ruin or were in the ring with him. I have no grounds to suspend them, and so there is nothing I can do. “Takanu is another matter. His leg drops did much of the damage to Ruin’s neck, and he had to have some idea of what was happening. It was an act of absolute brutality. He may not have understood the extent of the injuries he inflicted, but what he did was without reason or justification. Takanu is therefore suspended from the USWF for one year. “In regard to Bloodbath, he obviously knew what he was doing. This was a deliberate and unfortunately successful attempt to end another wrestler’s career. Worse, he not only took away Ruin’s ability to wrestle, but even his ability to walk. I have never seen a more brutal act in wrestling, and he is capable of doing it again. I am therefore banning Bloodbath from the USWF for life. Furthermore, I have spoken to GWF Interim Commissioner Solaris, and he has agreed to extend the ban to the GWF. Bloodbath is fired. None of us ever wants to see him again.” “The USWF extends its sympathies to Ruin and his family. We all wish we could do more, but all that we can do now is to make certain that Bloodbath never does the same thing to someone else.”
QUEEN’S COMMENTARY “Queen’s Commentary” features the observations of former GWF star and now USWF color commentator Killer Queen.
"I was not in the Brymstone Battledome when Blazing Skull burned Crossfire, so I do not know what things felt like that night. All I know is that Bloodbath’s attack on Ruin was the worst moment I have ever seen in wrestling. I am no fan of the Gladiators, but this assault was beyond reason. The young man, a gladiator, was literally screaming in pain, and yet Bloodbath and Takanu kept beating him. It was obvious that he was seriously injured. I am ashamed that I did not get up myself and try to stop it. I suppose we were all too stunned. The irony is that the person who finally got through and saved Ruin was Scar, the young Aethran who got his name from a permanent facial disfigurement inflicted on him by none other than Ruin. That’s how bad the attack was—even Scar and Blitz, who have hated Ruin for years, could not let it go on and came to his rescue.
"I have not agreed with Commissioner Guile often this year. Most of his decisions have favored the CPC and cheated other wrestlers. But in his banning of Bloodbath, I have to applaud him. We have all been injured, and we all have to live with the dangers when we get in the ring, but when one wrestler intentionally cripples another, he has no place in wrestling."

ANOTHER UNEXPECTED RESCUE FOR DARLA For the second time in 2106, Darla received help from a surprising source when she was attacked by Maxine and Brainstorm at the Morningstar Temple of Venus on September 27. The incident took place immediately after a match between Maxine and Darla which was easily won by Maxine. Knowing that Supernova and Pegasus, who had saved Darla from injury by her former partners six weeks earlier and protected her since, were not in the building, Maxine and Brainstorm continued their assault after the bell and appeared to be attempting to injure the smaller woman seriously. As the assault continued, a tall, hulking figure made his way out of the crowd and into the ring. The stranger wore dark glasses, baggy pants, and a baseball cap, and he stood nearly seven feet tall. Stepping deliberately over the top rope, he picked Brainstorm up by the neck and literally threw him out of the ring and to the floor. Seeing her accomplice manhandled so easily, Maxine beat a hasty retreat, leaving the injured Darla in the ring with the interloper. As the young woman looked up at him, the stranger removed his glasses and cap. Slowly the crowd at the Morningstar Temple realized who they were seeing. His clothing was different from the formerly proper attire he had always worn, and he was thinner than before, but his perfectly cut body was still unmistakable: Rock Ravishing, who had not been seen in the GWF since he was betrayed by his tag team partner Marikel Magnifique at the Cosmic Mayhem supercard in April, was back in the ring again. Without a word, Rock reached down and swept Darla up into his arms. He then stepped back over the top rope and carried the young woman out of the ring. In the days that followed, Supernova received a message from Darla saying that she was fine, but neither she nor Rock has been seen in a wrestling arena since.
TAG TEAM, HEAVY METAL BELTS CHANGE HANDS Two of the GWWF’s three titles changed hands in late October as the Enchantresses and Rhea took the tag team and heavy metal belts, respectively.
First, on October 22 at the Wolf’s Den of Wolf-359, the Enchantresses ended the record-setting tag team title reign of Leather and Lace. The champions controlled the match early, but Cassandra took over from Leather when the two brawled on the floor and then landed her “Whips and Chains” finisher to score the pin. Leather and Lace ended their stint as champions with 16 successful defenses, a GWWF record. They held the belts for over seven months. Ironically, their first title reign also ended at the hands of the Enchantresses, who defeated them for the belts on February 19, 2105. Thrash had held the heavy metal title for well over a year, though she defended it infrequently, but she finally ran out of luck against Rhea. Krakan’s huge female grappler pounded Thrash all over the cage at Ganymede Stadium on October 26 before finally scoring the win. Thrash had logged nine successful defenses in her second reign as heavy metal champion. Rhea became a singles champion for the first time after having held the tag titles with Dream Lover.

GWF 2106 Highlights
From WPU 9.8
GALACTICADE XI
Since 2096, every GWF year has ended with Galacticade, an extravaganza first organized by Commander Sam and held in Los Angeles, California on the planet Earth. The event includes the year-end awards banquet and hall of fame inductions as well as the final supercard of the year. GWF action slows its pace between the end of the War Games and Galacticade, but several notable incidents nevertheless took place leading up to this year’s final card.
MALICE CAPTURES FIRST GWF BELT The most recent interplanetary title reign of Max Shield was short-lived as he lost the belt to Malice in his first official title defense on November 27 at the Denebola Spiral Arm Stadium. Malice had defeated the new champion in a non-title match at the Luna Auditorium of Earth on November 10. Shield would have been within his rights to put off a rematch at least until the Galacticade supercard, but instead he agreed to settle the issue almost immediately. Although the two combatants have engaged in numerous terrific battles in the past, this time it was no contest as Malice dominated the title match. The Aethran powerhouse took just five minutes to land an “Atomic Spike” and pin Shield to claim the championship. Shield’s third interplanetary title reign lasted for just three weeks, a very short stint considering the GWF’s reduced schedule after the conclusion of the War Games. With the win, Malice became a champion for the first time in his promising career.
TROUBLE INCREASES FOR W. A. R. The infighting in the W. A. R. camp appears to grow more bitter every day as the team looked forward to Galacticade. Earlier this year both Predator and Wolf quit the team, citing problems with Mace as reasons for their decisions. Now Raven and Mace, two original members of the supergroup, seem to be at odds as well. “We need to change our attitude,” Mace stated when asked about the difficulties. “Raven wants to be a good guy all the time, but sometimes you gotta take out the trash. We need to get mean. If that means hurting some people, so be it. If Raven’s got a problem with that, big deal.” Raven had less to say on the matter. “We’ve been moving in different directions for a while now,” he stated. “We’ve been a great group, but we’re not even a team anymore. I don’t understand what Mace is thinking, and I have no idea where Dreggs stands. But Mace is right about one thing: something has to change. I’m not sure it will be the way he wants it, but we’re all going to have to make some tough decisions soon.”
WOLF CHALLENGES MACE TO EXILE MATCH Wolf, who left W. A. R. at the end of the War Games due to difficulties with Mace, challenged his former teammate to a cage match at Galacticade with the stipulation that the loser would leave the GWF for six months. “I’ve wanted to do this for years,” Wolf stated. “That big goon got in my face, and he made a big mistake. Let’s see if he has the guts to back up his mouth.” Mace accepted the challenge over the protests of Raven and Dreggs. “In spite of my problems with Mace, I don’t want to see this,” Raven said. “Both of them have been my friends. We’re all being torn apart, and I don’t know how much more of this I can take.”
GALACTICADE WEEKEND 2106
STUNNING DECISIONS BY ALPHA FORCE, RAVEN December 23, 2106, the day of Galacticade XI, began with a press conference called by Star Warrior. Appearing on stage with the manager of the Defenders of the Galaxy were his brother Alpha Force, his sister Supernova, his father Omega, and Defenders’ star Pegasus. “We’ve called this press conference today because we have reached a very important crossroads,” Star Warrior began. “Everyone is aware that we have had tension on our team recently. Actually, it has been going on for over a year. It all has to do with Pegasus’ relationship with Supernova and Alpha’s objections to that relationship. “I want to begin by saying that I’m disappointed by all of this. Alpha, Pegasus, and ‘Nova, all three of you have acted like children at times. I’m sorry that things have reached this point. We’re supposed to be a team, and we’re also a family. This whole situation is ridiculous. It has to end now.” Star Warrior paused before continuing. “I want to say that although Pegasus and Supernova have not always handled this situation well, Omega and I agree that they are adults and that what they do is their business. We have no objection whatsoever to their relationship. The problem is Alpha’s, and it is up to him to solve it. Therefore, I will let him make his own announcement.” Alpha Force stepped forward and took the microphone. “First, I want to apologize to Pegasus and to my sister,” he began. “Star Warrior is right: they are adults. Moreover, Pegasus is my friend. However, when it comes to your younger sister, things can get complicated. Although I know in my head that they have a right to do as they please, something inside of me still has a problem with it. And Star Warrior is right: it has to end. Therefore, I am taking a leave of absence from the GWF. I will fight tonight, but then I’m leaving. This is not a retirement, but I can’t say for sure when I’ll be back. As long as I have this conflict going on inside of me, I’m better off staying out of the way.” Alpha Force’s announcement was shocking enough, but it was followed by another bombshell from Raven an hour later. The W. A. R. superstar addressed the media alone. “I came to the GWF in 2095,” Raven began. “I’ve held the Galaxian title eight times. I’ve been interplanetary champion four times. Maybe more importantly, I have been a member of one of the elite teams in the GWF. W. A. R. won the War Games three times. We beat the Gladiators in Sudden Death. Individually and as part of a team, I have accomplished just about all that I can. “Now things are falling apart,” Raven continued. “Destructon 3000 left us. Wolf and Predator left the team this year. Mace and Wolf are fighting each other tonight in an exile match. Dreggs and Mace argue all the time. We came here to fight the Aethrans, but all we do now is fight ourselves. I’m sick of it. “As of right now, I am leaving the GWF. I don’t know when or if I’ll be back. But as far as I am concerned, W. A. R. is finished. We were great once; now we’re a joke. Let Mace and Wolf tear each other apart. Let Mace and Dreggs do what they want. They can’t keep the team going alone. I want to thank everyone who supported us through the years, and I hope we will be remembered for what we used to be. Now it’s over. W. A. R. is history.”
COMMISSIONER ANNOUNCEMENT ROCKS GWF The announcements by Alpha Force and Raven were shocking, but they were overshadowed by what was yet to come. Shortly before the beginning of the Galacticade supercard, Solaris appeared on stage in the Los Angeles Sports Arena Press Room. His image was broadcast to the entire Sports Arena Crowd on a large video screen. Appearing on stage with him was Omega. “As I told you yesterday, the Board of Directors has made its decision regarding a new commissioner,” Solaris began. “The choice was unanimous: the board wanted Omega. However, Omega hesitated to accept the position, fearing that he would be accused of showing favoritism to his sons. After some intense negotiation, we have solved this problem. “Omega has agreed to become the new GWF commissioner only if he has a partner. He wishes to have a balancing voice to dispel any ideas of favoritism. The board has agreed to this and named that balancing voice. Please welcome the new co-commissioners of the GWF: Omega and Morpheus.” The press corps rumbled with surprised whispers as Morpheus walked out onto the stage and took the microphone. “I know, I know, they said I was gone for good,” he stated. “Well, I’m back. Whatever else I did, at rock bottom I still helped to make this league. I’m not going to stand around and watch someone like Magnus Colby ruin it. If that means that I work with Omega, then we’ve worked together before.” Omega took the microphone from Morpheus. “I want to point out that Morpheus and I have signed one-year contracts for this position,” he said. “If the arrangement does not work, something else will be done next year. For now, this was the best possible solution. I support the return of Morpheus, and I urge everyone to give him full cooperation.”
GALACTICADE XI HIGHLIGHTS Manslaughter made Dragonmaster submit to the “Snap, Crack, Pop” The Centaurians overcame Brymstone Burning in a Three-Man Elimination Tag Match. After the final bell, the Centaurians were attacked by Blazing Skull and a large, unidentified Brymstonian Max Shield drilled Dark Justice with a “Maximum Impact” in a Hitman Match Dreggs made Skinhead submit to a “Twist and Shout” in a Titan Death Match Rising Sun defeated Cruiserweight Champion Enigma by disqualification Prodigy got by Alpha Force with a “Perfect Singles Finisher” Wolf won his Federation Exile Cage Match against Mace by using the “Savage Face Claw” Painmaster took advantage of a missed deathjump by Vengeance to hang on to the heavy metal title X-Termination won by disqualification due to outside interference against CPC Rising when Massif came out of the crowd to intervene and call for the bell Terminus blasted Jack of Diamonds in a Castor Chain Match Interplanetary Champion Malice pinned Heracles with a choke slam Colossus got the win despite an amazing effort by Pegasus in a Leather Strap Match Thunder and Overkill squeaked by the Star Patrol to retain the GWF tag team belts Galaxian Heavyweight Champion Chaos beat Mandrill with a “Bow of Defeat.”
Galacticade XI Wrap-Up As always, the Galacticade supercard provided many exciting moments and surprises. Among the best matches were the opening contest between Dragonmaster and Manslaughter, the Chain Match between Jack of Diamonds and Terminus, and the Leather Strap Match between Colossus and Pegasus. Both combatants in the strap match were bleeding badly by the end, but while Colossus controlled most of the action, Pegasus simply refused to quit. When the battle finally ended, Pegasus was carried from the ring on a stretcher, but he kept fighting right up to the conclusion. The tag team title match lived up to its anticipation. Both teams fought well, with Overkill being battered by Space Ranger and the Galactic Trooper but coming back to score the win. One unexpected moment came at the end of the Three-Man Elimination Tag Match between the Centaurians and Brymstone Burning. Immediately after Blade pinned Blazing Skull to score the win, a huge stranger, unidentified but clearly a Brymstonian, climbed into the ring and attacked the winners. He and Blazing Skull pounded the Centaurians while the Lower World kept Archon from returning to the ring. Suddenly another surprise took place as Pulsar leapt from the crowd and blew an “Acid Rain” into the face of Blazing Skull, then attacked the huge stranger. The Brymstonians retreated, and thanks to Pulsar the Centaurians were not seriously injured. “As promised, the Centaurians just met Anarchy,” Maleph gloated after the event, referring to his announcement almost a year earlier. “He’ll be joining us in 2107. What you saw tonight was a small sample of what’s in store.” Finally, one of the evening’s highlights came during the CPC Rising match against X-Termination. After Grunge and Sleeze landed the “Headbanger’s Ball” on the Matador, Janus knocked out the referee while Terminus, Prodigy, and Dynamo stormed the ring. To their surprise, Massif came out of the crowd to defend X-Termination and then called for the bell, awarding the victory to the Rocket Men. “I want the decision reversed,” Thantos stormed after the card. “Massif is not an active referee. He was suspended months ago. He had no business in the ring. He had no right to disqualify my men. I want him fired for this.” The new GWF commissioners reacted calmly. “Massif was never suspended,” Morpheus declared. “He took a leave of absence. His powers as a referee were never taken away. Moreover, he did exactly what we would want him to do. Fire him? Dream on, Thantos. For this, Omega and I have decided to reinstate Massif as a regular GWF referee. We were hired to take care of the CPC problem, and if Massif is ready to help us, we’ll welcome him back.”
USWF REPORT
WRATH COMES TO PREDATOR’S AID AT FIRE ISLAND In a surprising turn of events, Wrath saved his half-brother and former rival Predator from serious injury at the hands of Nightmare on a card at Fire Island on November 19. Since Predator had returned to the USWF from the GWF in mid-year, he and his half-brother Wrath had hardly spoken. Their relationship has remained strained even since Massacre revealed their blood relationship two years ago. At Fire Island, however, after Predator had lost to Nightmare, the Aethran torture master continued to pound his victim after the bell. Predator’s former teammates Blitz and Scar were under suspension at the time and therefore were not in the arena, nor was Predator’s close friend Black Hawk. However, Wrath quickly appeared in the ring and drove Nightmare away. Predator suffered minor injuries in the incident. “I have no idea what he’s thinking,” Predator told reporters later. “I haven’t talked to him or to Massacre. No matter why he helped me, I’m sure glad he was there tonight. But I wouldn’t make too much out of it. Wrath always does things for his own reasons, and he usually doesn’t explain, especially to me. I still don’t think we’ll be exchanging birthday gifts, but maybe this is some sort of a step.”
GUILE, CPC PULL SHOCKER AT AWARDS BANQUET The eighth annual USWF awards banquet took place at the Callisto Civic Auditorium on December 12, 2106. The event was attended by nearly all of the USWF’s active wrestlers and managers. USWF Commissioner Reynard B. Guile opened the proceedings by welcoming everyone to the ceremony. “The USWF has had a great year,” Guile began. “Under my leadership, we have added the Centaurus Collision Supercard to our special events, and we have enjoyed excellent attendance throughout the galaxy. Unfortunately, we also lost a fine young talent with the crippling of Ruin of Aethra. Ruin has now been released from the hospital and has returned to his home on Aethra. However, he remains paralyzed from the neck down. Our best wishes go out to him. By a vote of the wrestlers of the USWF, tomorrow’s Center Stage Spectacular Supercard will be dedicated to Ruin."
As Guile continued to speak, his voice took on a note of defensiveness. “I have reached a major decision. I have done all that I can as USWF commissioner. I think I’ve done a lot of good. It’s not an easy job, you know. But at the request of the USWF Board of Governors, I am resigning my position as of the end of this year.” The announcement of Guile’s resignation sent a buzz of surprise through the crowd. However, the big shock was yet to come. “The board has granted me the honor of presenting the new commissioner for next year. Actually, he’s not a new commissioner at all. He has held this position previously. He was unfairly removed from his job, but now justice has prevailed.” The audience went silent. Guile’s reference obviously seemed to be to former USWF Commissioner “Trainer” Jim Powell, who had been unceremoniously fired in January of 2106. No one could believe that Powell was back or that Guile would speak in this way about the man he had replaced. However, Guile’s next words made sense of it all. “I present to you the man who was the original commissioner of the USWF: Commissioner Grogan!” Moans of dismay shot through the audience, just as they had when Guile replaced Powell in January. Grogan, fired from his post as the GWF commissioner at mid-year, was back in power. As he walked out on stage and shook hands with Guile, the banquet erupted into shouts of anger and disappointment. “I want to thank everyone on the Board of Governors for their confidence in me,” Grogan stated as he took the microphone. “As Mr. Guile said, I was unfairly accused and fired from my post in the GWF. I am thankful for the chance to prove that I am what I have always been: a fair, honest commissioner with the best interests of my federation at heart.” Grogan’s comments did little to calm the angry audience members. Despite the confusion and surprise experienced by almost everyone in attendance, the program ended with one fact very clear: Magnus Colby’s hold on the CPC Board of Governors was obviously as strong as ever, and 2107 promised to be as chaotic and unfair as 2106 had been.
CENTER STAGE SPECTACULAR IV The USWF held its fourth annual Center Stage Spectacular on December 13, 2106 at Jupiter’s Callisto Centroplex before a sellout crowd. The card was attended by various guests from the GWF and the GWWF, including Magnus Colby, Sonora Pelf, GWF Interim Commissioner Solaris, Omega, Wolf, Commander Sam, Amazonia, Kati, Malice, Pegasus, Supernova, Galactic Trooper, and Space Ranger. Also in attendance was the new USWF commissioner for 2107, the Mighty Grogan.
Center Stage Spectacular Highlights Silverfang nailed the Mad Jester with a “Silverfang Kill” Toltecas blasted Halcón Oro with a “Tequila Shot” Predator topped Violator with an “Aethran Lock” Nightmare hammered Venom in a Cosmic Cage Match Singer of Tales overcame Splatter with a “Tale of Woe” in a Turnbuckle Shock Match Jason the Canadian Bomber devastated U. S. Patriot in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match Ravage pinned the Barbaric Destroyer with an “Annihilation” in a Castor Chain Match; Rebellion blasted Stormfront when Scar pinned Skyfire with a DDT Bishop Hell burned Lycanthrope with a “Hellfire” to retain the interstellar title; High Lord Marlicus outlasted Crazy Horse in a terrific Leather Strap Match Class Act won the USWF tag team titles from Ancient Terror when Shadowmaster sabotaged his own team Wrath dominated Mayhem in a Torture Chamber Match to hold on to the heavy metal belt Pathfinder of Ceres pinned Black Hawk in less than two minutes to remain the USWF heavyweight champion.
Center Stage Spectacular Wrap-Up The final card of the year proved to be as exciting and dramatic as always. In the double main event, Black Hawk’s injured knee gave out almost immediately and he was easy prey for Pathfinder, while Wrath simply devastated Mayhem in the Torture Chamber Match. With the win, Wrath broke his own amazing record with his forty-fourth successful title defense without losing his heavy metal belt. Revenge finally came for a pair of the ugliest incidents of the year. U. S. Patriot was pounded by Jason the Canadian Bomber for what the Patriot and the Unknown Soldier did to Lance At-Las in mid-year. Likewise, Ravage took some payback from the Barbaric Destroyer for the Destroyer’s role in injuring Ruin. The unexpected meeting between two CPC teams for the USWF Tag Team Titles proved to be a set-up, as Shadowmaster waited for only two minutes before interfering. While Parsec, the manager of Conrad Chase and Shawn Styles, had the referee distracted, Shadowmaster blasted his own man, Pyramid, from behind with a pair of brass knuckles. Styles immediately covered the unconscious victim to claim the belts.
“We needed the tag titles in the hands of someone more capable of defending them,” Parsec explained. “Ancient Terror was losing too much. They were barely hanging on to the belts. Now they’re out. My men have the titles, and if Pyramid and Sphynx know what’s good for them, they’ll get out of this federation for good.”

GWF 2107 Highlights
From WPU 10.1
GALAXY CUP 2107 The new year began for the GWF as it has every year since 2087, with the Galaxy Cup tournaments at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena. In the two days preceding the tournaments, the annual press conferences at which teams announce their rosters for the upcoming year took place in the Deimos Media Center. The opening event, held on January 16, was the first press conference of the GWF’s new co-commissioners, Omega and Morpheus, who were named to their post at Galacticade in December of 2106. “Welcome, everyone,” Omega began. “It’s good to be back in the GWF officially. I’ve missed it. Morpheus and I have a few announcements to make before the team press conferences get started. Our first issue to deal with is our own appointments. I’ll turn things over to Morpheus, who has a few remarks to make.” Morpheus stepped forward and took the microphone. “A lot of people are asking how the GWF could give me this job,” he stated. “After all, I just spent over three years in prison for crimes connected with wrestling. Well, that’s all over. I’m not going to go into or explain my past actions. Right now only one thing matters: the GWF has a problem. Magnus Colby is trying to take over, and he’s gained a lot of power. The Board of Governors wanted someone strong enough to stop him. That means me and Omega. Forget what I’ve done in the past. Omega and I created this federation. Neither one of us is going to let someone destroy it, and the Board knows that. With these high stakes, Omega and I can work together. That’s why they put us in charge, and that’s why they decided to trust me.”
“We have just a few other announcements,” Omega continued “First, regarding the status of Massif: As Morpheus stated last December at Galacticade, we appreciated Massif’s actions at the supercard, and we are convinced that he is no longer working for Colby. Massif is therefore reinstated as a GWF special referee.” “Second, I want to announce that Commander Sam has left the GWF. I think that you will hear more about his plans in the next few days." After Omega addressed a few other minor items, Morpheus again took the microphone. “We have no more announcements,” he said, “but we do have a message for Colby. You’re finished. Omega and I were chosen to keep you in line, and we will. Get ready for a battle, because you’ve got a real war now.”
TEAM PRESS CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS
COLBY/PELF CORPORATION ADDS NEW MEMBERS The first team press conference of 2107 was held by the Colby/Pelf Corporation. Appearing on stage with Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf were their managers Thantos and Doomsayer, as well as Paragon, Terminus, Prodigy, Colossus, Janus, the Matador, Halcón Oro, U. S. Patriot, Monad, Dynamo, and, unexpectedly, former USWF Commissioner Reynard B. Guile. “We have several exciting announcements to make,” Colby began. “I will let our managers speak for their teams. First, representing Penthouse Suite, we will hear from Thantos.” Even before he spoke, Thantos made an impression on the media: he was dressed not in his usual suit coat, but in his old wrestling gear, cape and all. “No, I’m not coming out of retirement,” the Penthouse Suite manager began. “I’m wearing my wrestling gear to make a statement. Last year I joined the CPC in mid-year. So did Colossus. This year we are all together from the beginning. We have the rightful Galaxian Champion, Paragon, whom Solaris unfairly refused to recognize last year. We have Prodigy, who will soon be the cruiserweight champion again. We have Terminus, a two time interplanetary champion last year. We have Colossus for the whole year. And we have a tag team that will put an end to Thunder and Overkill, CPC Rising. Nothing can stop us. We’ll take all of the gold, we’ll dominate the War Games, and we will control this federation.” Doomsayer, manager of the CPC’s “Executive Order” team, spoke next. “I wish Thantos and his men luck, but we have some surprises for everyone,” he said. “First, we will again have U. S. Patriot, who has returned from his unfair suspension. We have Halcón Oro, who we think will be the cruiserweight champ. We have Monad, who will now be wrestling in singles action. You may have noticed that Dreadnaught is not here. Dreadnaught is a pitiful mess. I got sick of keeping him healthy. Mr. Colby fired him, and if he’s smart he’ll get out of wrestling completely. No one else wants him any more than we do.” Then Doomsayer began to smile. “Of course, with Dreadnaught gone, we need a tag team,” he continued. “I brought in the best, and I transrevolved them to make them even better. CPC Rising won’t need to worry about the Gladiators, because my men will crush them. Say hello to the future GWF tag team champions: Desolation Factor!” The massive tag team of Rack and Ruin, well known for their success in Dimension X, walked out onto the stage. Both looked bigger and more imposing than ever as they took their place among the CPC troops.
“I have one more announcement,” Doomsayer stated. “We could use one additional man. Gila, everyone knows you’re a loser, but you have potential—with my help. Without me, you’ll never be anything but a loser. Step into the transrevolver, and I’ll make you a star. You have until the Galaxy Cup tournaments to accept this invitation.”
Magnus Colby reclaimed the microphone. “Finally, I want to introduce the latest additions to our forces. Reynard B. Guile resigned as USWF commissioner last year so that he could come to work for us. I will let him introduce his own team.” A smiling Guile stepped forward and spoke. “I have the honor of managing one of the all-time great GWF tag teams this year,” he grinned. “They’ve had their problems, but with my help they’ve buried their differences. Welcome back to the GWF the Awesome Studs.” A ripple of surprise ran through the media as Vanity stepped out onto the stage and joined Dynamo. Although the Studs were hardly one of the great GWF tag teams, the return of Vanity is always news. “This is our team—for now,” Colby smirked. “Of course, we’re always ready to add more members. I also want to say that Kati will regret having turned on us last year. And finally, I have a response for our new commissioners, Omega and Morpheus. You say this is a war? You don’t even know what you’re getting into. If you want to fight, we’re ready. I have my lawyers lined up to keep you in line. You won’t be able to cheat my men, and when this war you’ve declared is over I’ll still be here, while you two will be a memory.”
CHAOS AND HERACLES STAND FIRM Chaos and Heracles, the two remaining members of the Citadel of the Elite, appeared alone for their press conference. Chaos spoke for the duo. “You might think that we have problems,” the GWF champion remarked. “But from where I stand, we’re doing fine. I’m still the champion. Heracles and I are still together. He is the only member of our group who has stayed loyal to me, and I know that he is the only person in wrestling I can trust. Colby and his money can’t touch us. Star Warrior’s team is falling apart more than we are. Alpha Force is gone. When all of the smoke clears, Chaos and Heracles will still be standing together at the top of the GWF.”
MASKED ASSASSINS STANDING PAT Darkos and his Masked Assassins appeared on stage together for their press conference. As always, Darkos spoke for the team. “We remain the most talented, unified group in the GWF,” the Master Assassin said. “With the Ninja Assassins, the Cruiserweight Champion Enigma, and the rising star Lycosa, we will again be a force to reckon with. If we can only get Manslaughter to pull his weight . . .” Before Darkos could finish, the huge Manslaughter interrupted him. “Hey, what is this?” he asked. “Where do you get off criticizing me in public?” “Quiet!” Darkos snapped. “Don’t forget who’s in charge here. You have not lived up to expectations, and it’s time for you to start performing.” Even under his mask, Lycosa’s expression showed that he was enjoying the situation. The other three Assassins shifted uncomfortably at the exchange. “That’s right,” Lycosa chuckled. “Get the big goon going. Don’t make the little guys do all of the work. The way he fought last year, he looked more like a victim than an assassin.” Manslaughter began a threatening step toward Lycosa, but Enigma caught his arm and whispered something that held the big man back. Darkos barked a command, and the group quietly left the stage together. Despite Darkos’ claims of unity, however, no one could doubt that trouble was brewing in the Masked Assassin camp.
SHOCKING DEVELOPMENTS AT GLADIATOR PRESS CONFERENCE No member of the media misses the Gladiators of Aethra press conference, which is traditionally the wildest and most unpredictable of any of the presentations. For 2107, however, the event exceeded all expectations. Thakur the Oppressor stepped out onto the stage first, followed by Vengeance, Malice, Thunder, Overkill, and Thrash. The Aethran leader took the microphone as his men assembled behind him. “At last we have our redemption,” Thakur began. “Finally we have avenged our loss in the first Sudden Death. Raven is gone. Mace is gone. Dreggs is gone. Destructon 3000 is gone. We have destroyed W. A. R.
“This year we will celebrate our victory by uniting the past and present of the Gladiators,” Thakur continued. “Now that we have avenged their loss, we can invite Brute, Massacre, and Spike to come back to our side. I have sent invitations to all three of them to be our guests at Galaxy Cup and to discuss ways in which they can again be a part of the Aethran effort in the GWF as advisors.”
As Thakur spoke, Massacre stepped out onto the stage. “Ah, I see that one of our guests has arrived already,” Thakur smiled. “Welcome, Massacre. Join the heroes behind me who have cleansed the Aethran name of your defeat.”
Massacre shook his head. “I have news for you, old man,” he said calmly. “I’m not here to join you. And I got a message for you from Brute, but I can’t say it in public. Let’s just say he ain’t coming to your party either.”
“Not here to join?” Thakur repeated. “And Brute too? How can you be so foolish?” “Listen to yourself. Avenged our defeat? These clowns? No one avenges us but us, and we settled our differences with W. A. R. a long time ago. And I wouldn’t take too much credit for breaking up W. A. R. if I was you. I think Mace did more damage to his own team than your men ever did.”
“Silence!” Thakur roared. “If you’re not here to join us, then get out of my sight!”
Again Massacre shook his head. “Not so fast,” he smiled. “I want to introduce you to the new team I’ll be managing. We’re calling ourselves the ‘Aethran Resistance Movement.’ We’re here on behalf of everyone whose lives people like you have destroyed, and now we’re coming after you.”
Vengeance broke into the conversation. “You’re planning on challenging us? With who? Who in the GWF would side with a has-been like you?”
“Well, first of all, you weren’t quite right about W. A. R.,” Massacre replied. “Raven is gone. Mace is gone. But Dreggs is still here, and he wants a piece of you, Vengeance.”
As Dreggs stepped out onto the stage, Vengeance sneered in contempt. “I’ll destroy him. He’s not a singles wrestler. Is that the best you could do?”
“Dreggs is gonna give you a battle you won’t forget,” grinned Massacre. “But I do have more. Thunder and Overkill will have a lot more to worry about than Desolation Factor. Those big mutants look tough, but I have your worst nightmare. I have the team you never thought you’d see, the team no one ever expected to see. They don’t want to have a tag team name. They’ll just be called by their own names, which I’m sure you’ll recognize: Predator and Wrath!”
The press corps gasped and the Aethrans howled in anger as the two half-brothers, sons of the Aethran war hero Bludgeon, stepped out onto the stage together. For years they had been enemies and at best had ignored each other, but both were trained by Massacre and no one could deny their ability.
“This is an outrage,” Thakur growled. “Get them out of here. I don’t want to hear any more.”
“But I saved the best for last,” Massacre said, still smiling. “I still need someone for Malice. This seems like a good time to tell you that I also have a message from Spike. He’s not joining you either, but he is coming for Galaxy Cup. But he’s not coming as an ‘advisor’: he’ll be in the ring. Take a look at the fourth member of our team.”
Another wave of shock rolled through the media as Spike stepped out onto the stage, dressed in full wrestling gear. Massacre’s team was now complete: Dreggs, Predator, Wrath, and Spike. Could any four men have challenged the Gladiators better?
“This is no joke, Vengeance,” Massacre finished. “We’re here for good. I’m sick of you, and so are all of these men. This year, you and your boys are going down. Forget the Star Patrol. Forget the CPC. Forget Krakan. The Aethran Resistance Movement is going to give you a fight like you’ve never had.”
ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES FOR SAVAGE KINGDOM The Savage Kingdom press conference began with Terak walking out onto the stage with a troubled look on his face. The Kingdom manager was followed by Wildcat, Karah, and the Creeper. “I’m a little bit concerned today,” Terak began. “I do not know where Vyper is. He was supposed to be here with us. I’m not sure . . .” Terak’s remarks were interrupted by an unexpected guest. Gila, who had become a friend of Karah during a USWF stint for each man in 2106, stepped out of the stage wings. “I’m sorry to interrupt,” Gila said. “But I need to settle something. You heard Doomsayer’s proposal that I step into the transrevolver?” Terak nodded. “I hope you won’t do it, but what does that have to do with us?” he asked. “I don’t want to do it,” Gila replied. “I don’t trust Doomsayer. I see what’s happened to Dreadnaught. But Doomsayer was right about one thing: I’m not going anywhere now. I need help. I want to join your team. Will you take me?” Before Terak could respond, laughter rang out from offstage. Vyper stepped out of the wings with a sneer on his face. “This is what you’ve sunk to?” he laughed. “Gila? What a joke. I’m glad I got out when I did.” “Out?” Terak repeated. “What do you mean out?” Vyper continued to grin. “I’m here to tell you I quit. I’m sick of your weakness. I’m sick of hanging around with these losers. I’m sick of carrying a weak tag-team partner like Wildcat. I’m through with you.” “Weak?” Wildcat snapped. “I’ll show you weak, you cowardly . . .” “Don’t move too fast,” Vyper responded. “I have some new friends. You don’t want to cross us.” As Vyper spoke, Splatter and the Mad Jester walked out onto the stage. “Meet my new tag team partner, Splatter!” Vyper said. “We’re forming a real tag-team called ‘Lottery.’ The Jester will be around to help when we need him. Together you can call us ‘The Outcasts.’ Now, boy, since you have no partner, and no one would have you, are you sure you want to mess with us?” “You’re wrong, Vyper,” Karah spoke up. “I’d be happy to be Wildcat’s partner. And if he agrees, we’ll come after you any time you want.” As the Outcasts laughed and Wildcat nodded angrily, Terak stepped forward again. “That settles it, then,” he stated. “If you want to leave, go. You’re a coward, like Wildcat said, and so you can hang around with cowards like Splatter and the Jester. We’ll call Karah and Wildcat the ‘Hunters of Prey.’ And Gila, if you want in, we’ll take you. Welcome to the Savage Kingdom.” Gila smiled happily. “There’s your answer, Doomsayer,” he said. “I’ll stay as I am. Now we’ll see who’s a loser.” “We sure will,” Vyper laughed again. “You’ve joined a whole team of losers. I don’t like Doomsayer much, but you just passed up the only chance you’ll ever have to be a real wrestler. But hey, you all deserve each other. The Outcasts will show you what a joke you are, and Krakan had better be ready too. Splatter and the Jester have some issues to settle with him. We’ll be seeing everyone soon.”
NEW ADDITIONS, NAME CHANGE FOR THE DEFENDERS With the departure of Alpha Force, which was announced at Galacticade in December of 2106, the status of the two-time defending War Games champions the Defenders of the Galaxy was the subject of much speculation. The questions ended when Star Warrior led the team onstage, followed by Pegasus, Space Ranger, the Galactic Trooper, Supernova, and, surprisingly, Jack of Diamonds and Kati the Samoan Warrior. “We have several important announcements,” the Defenders’ manager began. “First of all, as Omega said earlier, Commander Sam has left the GWF. The Federation Defense Fighters are no more, at least for now. As a result, Jack of Diamonds and Kati have agreed to join us for this year. Along with Pegasus and the Star Patrol, we feel that they will help to form a group capable of defending our War Games rings again. “Second, we have decided to change our name,” Star Warrior continued. “The Defenders of the Galaxy team was founded in 2091 for the original War Games. None of our current wrestlers were members of that team. With Alpha gone, we have really lost all of our in-ring connection to the group that started all of this. After some debate, we have decided to call ourselves from now on simply ‘The Champions.’ That’s what we are, and that’s what we plan to be again, so that’s what we will be called.
“Finally, I want to say that although we are going through changes, we still believe ourselves to be the top supergroup in the GWF, and there is no way that we will let the CPC destroy that. The things that Colby’s men have done in the past few years are inexcusable. We’ll still be keeping an eye on Chaos and Heracles, but for now our main focus is on Penthouse Suite. I want to repeat what Morpheus said earlier: This is a war now, and we do not plan to lose.”
KRAKAN FORESHADOWS FUTURE OF MILITIA As is his habit, Krakan appeared alone for the Deadly Militia press conference. “Other than the insignificant loss of the Mutant, our team is unchanged,” he stated. “The Stormtroopers can have Mutant for all I care. I am currently looking carefully at some new talent. Dark Justice was a good addition last year, and the Mercenaries have been a great tag team for a long time, but we need some new blood. This year we’ll roll with the punches. By next year I’ll be out of this neck brace, and then it will be time to settle some scores and restore the Deadly Militia to the greatness that I have always known.”
CENTAURIANS RESPOND TO COMING OF ANARCHY With Brymstone Burning adding another member in Anarchy, the media anxiously awaited the response from the Centaurians. Archon spoke for the group, accompanied on stage by Blade and Talisman. “Maleph’s threats don’t worry us,” Archon declared. “We already know how sick the Brymstonians are, so nothing they can do will surprise us. However, I do have a surprise for them. Just to even the odds, an old friend of mine has come back to join us. Welcome the newest member of the Centaurians, Pulsar.” Pulsar stepped out of the stage wings and took the microphone. “As Archon knows, this is a one-year arrangement,” he said. “I am really feeling like the time is coming to retire once and for all. But I can’t stand by when a good friend like Archon needs help, and I’ve had some fights with Blazing Skull and Maleph before. For one year, I’ll do all I can to keep Anarchy from making a mark in the GWF.”
WILD BRAWL ENDS FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE The last press conference before the Galaxy Cup Tournaments was held by Wolf, who appeared wearing Aethran facepaint for the first time in several years. He was joined on stage by Amazonia. “People thought I was going crazy last year for attacking a few people,” Wolf declared. “Well, you ain’t seen nothing yet. I got rid of Mace. Now I got some other things to settle. I don’t need a team. I don’t need friends. I can handle . . .” Wolf’s comments were interrupted as the Draconian Sheik, followed by the Terrorists, rushed onto the stage and attacked him. The Sheik took a quick advantage, but Amazonia evened the odds slightly by smashing one of the Terrorists from behind with her shield. The momentary distraction was all Wolf needed to turn the tables. He grabbed Amazonia’s spear, broke it over the head of the second Terrorist, and then slapped the “Savage Face Claw” on the Sheik. Wolf held on to the hold for over a minute while the Terrorists lay dazed on the floor. Then Wolf dropped the Sheik and again took up the microphone. “This is one of the pukes who’s in for some trouble,” Wolf howled, gesturing at the injured Sheik. “So is Terminus, who I still don’t like. So is Vengeance, and anybody who works for Krakan. And if I think of anyone else I don’t like, I’ll get them too. I’m doing things my way now. I’ll attack who I want to, when I want to. I’ll wear facepaint if I want to, ‘cause no one can stop me. Everybody better just stay the hell out of my way or be ready to feel the Claw, and that means everybody.”
GALAXY CUP TOURNAMENTS 2107 The twenty-first annual Galaxy Cup Tournaments took place from January 18-21, 2107 at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena of Mars, with two days for the singles tournament and one for the tag tournament with a day off between. All matches after the first two rounds of each tournament are fought under Titan Death Match Rules. Tournament winners are guaranteed opportunities to fight for the Galaxian Heavyweight and GWF tag team belts at Galactic War, the GWF’s first regular supercard of the year. The singles tournament included seventy-six wrestlers, two more than in 2105 and 06. Twenty-eight teams entered the tag team tournament, four more than in 2106. The top four seeds in the tag team tournament received byes in round one.

Semi-finals: Chaos reached the final for the first time in three years by nailing Wolf with a “Galaxy Crusher”; Paragon made it to the finals by pinning Dark Justice with a choke slam.
Singles Tournament Final: Chaos, making a record ninth appearance in the Galaxy Cup finals, nearly went down to Paragon’s “Final Overture” twice in the early going, but managed to break the hold before Paragon could finish it each time. The Galaxian Champion then grabbed the “Bow of Defeat,” which Paragon managed to escape from once, but minutes later Chaos again grabbed his finisher and held on to claim his sixth Galaxy Cup victory.
Galaxy Cup Tag Team Tournament Results Round One Highlights: Assassin Air Raid downed Lottery; Terminus and Colossus upset Titan Fury; Frozen Fury won by DQ over Anarchy and Blazing Skull; Predator and Wrath destroyed the Awesome Studs; Skinhead and Brainstorm and the Mercenaries fought to a double DQ.
Round Two: Thunder and Overkill blasted Assassin Air Raid; Terminus and Colossus downed the Stormtroopers; No Fear upset CPC Rising; Frozen Fury won by DQ over Rebel Empire; X-Termination got past Desolation Factor; the Centaurians defeated Mandrill and Painmaster; Predator and Wrath beat the Star Patrol; the Ninja Assassins received a bye.
Quarterfinals: Thunder and Overkill topped Terminus and Colossus when Overkill pinned Terminus with a “Turnbuckle Trap”; Frozen Fury got past No Fear when Blizzard hit Archon with an “Ice Attack”; X-Termination blasted the Centaurians when Blade went down to the “Headbanger’s Ball”; Predator and Wrath beat the Ninja Assassins when Predator caught Hydrax in the “Aethran Lock.”
Semi-finals: Frozen Fury reached the finals with a stunning win over Galaxian Tag Team Champions Thunder and Overkill when Buck Steele transformed into Genocide and pinned Overkill; X-Termination reached the finals for the third time in four years by defeating Predator and Wrath when Sleeze pinned Wrath with a “Metalhead Mauler.”
Tag Team Tournament Final: X-Termination was in early trouble as Grunge was hammered by both Blizzard and Buck Steele, but Sleeze managed to tag in and take control until Buck Steele finally went down to a “Headbanger’s Ball,” giving X-Termination its second Galaxy Cup championship.
Galaxy Cup Notes Both tournaments provided numerous excellent matches. In the singles action, the best contest of all was probably the finals, in which Chaos needed all of his resources to gain the victory over a determined Paragon. Some of the most surprising performances came from Krakan’s men. Dark Justice made it all the way to the semi-finals, and in the process he eliminated Interplanetary Champion Malice for the second straight year. Vigilante, who won just six times in all of 2106, upset the third-seeded Mandrill and then Pulsar before bowing out in a great effort against Paragon. Max Shield and Heracles met in the tournament for the fourth time since 2101, when Heracles defeated Max in the finals. This year’s victory by Shield evened the score at two wins each. On the tag team side, X-Termination turned in another great Galaxy Cup performance with some terrific wins. Their last two victories, over Predator and Wrath and then over Frozen Fury, were excellent matches, and their quarterfinal win over the Centaurians was one of the best fights of the tournament.
USWF Report
GROGAN TAKES CHARGE AGAIN IN USWF The United Stars Wrestling Federation held its year-opening press conference for 2107 on January 20, the day off between the GWF’s Galaxy Cup Tournaments. New USWF Commissioner Grogan conducted the proceedings, which took place in the press room of the Europa Garden. Grogan was joined on stage by representatives from each of the federation’s teams. “Welcome, everyone,” Grogan began. “I hope everyone had a good holiday break. I’m glad to be back in the USWF, and we expect to have an exciting year. Before we get to the team presentations, I have a few announcements. “First, as you all know by now, Wrath has left the USWF to fight in the GWF. The heavy metal title that Wrath held for so long is therefore vacant. We will hold a tournament soon to name a new champion. “Also, I am removing Billy Jo Boxer as the head referee of the USWF. Billy Jo has a contract, so he will still be available to referee matches. However, our new chief official is someone in whom I have great faith. Meet the new head referee of the USWF: Scourge!” Several of the managers on stage groaned as the one-eyed former wrestler Scourge walked out onto the stage. After shaking hands with him, Grogan continued. “Now the time has come for our team presentations,” he said. “We will hear from each of our official groups, beginning with King Colerain of the Sanglian Warband.” Following Grogan’s introduction, the various team spokesmen made statements. Highlights of these statements follow:
The Warband King Colerain, Manager: “First I want to say that despite the obviously growing influence of Magnus Colby on this federation, some of us are not giving up. In addition to Guthlac and Singer of Tales, who will now fight primarily in singles matches, we have added three more wrestlers. Before Massacre left for the GWF with Wrath and Predator, he offered me the services of the rest of his team, and I gladly accepted. The great tag team of Blitz and Scar will be joining us, as will Venom in singles competition. We will be focusing on the Aethran team as well as the CPC’s ‘Second Wave’ group.”
Krakan’s Agents of Fortune Dagger Mack, Team Captain: “Our team was crippled with the loss of Bloodbath and Takanu to suspensions for this year. But we still have me, Homicide, and Hurricane and Skyfire. Furthermore, to join the Barbaric Destroyer in a tag team called ‘Full Load,’ we have recruited a new member: Mammoth the Bonecrusher. Of course, Cannibal is also still with us as a bodyguard. We’ll take out anyone who gets in our way, but our main problems are with the Badger’s Untamed Warriors and with Bishop Hell and his sellout group.”
Gladiator Superforce Thakur the Oppressor, Manager: “At least Dagger Mack and his men got smart enough to stop trying to beat us. We’re not done with them yet, but we’ll take care of that soon enough. We have changed our name because we have added two non-Aethran team members for this year. For singles matches, we still have Violator, Ravage, and Nightmare. But with Ruin’s career having ended so suddenly, we needed a tag team. We found one of the best, a team that got sick of being jerked around by Colby. We welcome back to the USWF our newest members, Slaughterhouse and Carnage, the tag team of Armageddon.”
CPC Cathedral of Calamity Bishop Hell, Team Leader: “You’re all pitiful. Sellouts, Dagger Mack? We joined the CPC because it’s the place to be. Of course, our team will feature myself and Father Steel, as well as our bodyguard the Priest of Pain. But we also have two new members. I brought them along to introduce them. You’ve all met them before, but they look a little different now. I present ‘The Monastic Rule,’ Brother Garis and Brother Tamor.”
(Two large, well-built individuals stepped out onto the stage. Both were dressed in tight fitting shirts with Bishop Hell’s skull insignia showing on the front, and both had their hair cropped like monks, but the pair was nevertheless recognizable: Sir Garis of Condrell and Gunslinger, who still carried his bullrope from his days as a member of the Sidewinders and wore his characteristic sneer on his face.)
The Star Defenders Jason the Canadian Bomber, Team Member: “I’ve been chosen to act as our spokesman today. First, I want to announce that Titanius has left the USWF. He says that he is returning to Titan and that he does not at this time plan to wrestle again. The rest of our team—myself, Toltecas, Black Hawk, and Crazy Horse—is in tact. We were even contacted by the Unknown Soldier, who wanted to join us, but I know him too well to trust him. After all, it was the Soldier and U. S. Patriot who injured our manager, Lance At-Las, so severely last year. Well, Lance is still out, and he has no plans to return any time soon. Therefore, we needed a manager, and we found one. Our new leader has agreed to join us for one year to help clean up some of the problems in the USWF. He’s an old friend of ours; in fact, he brought me into wrestling. Welcome the new manager of the Star Defenders: Commander Sam!
(As the crowd and the managers on stage erupted into shouts of surprise, Commander Sam walked out onto the stage and shook hands with Jason. Thakur, Shadowmaster, and Dagger Mack shouted the loudest objections.)
“I did not know about this,” stated a furious Commissioner Grogan. “You can’t make this sort of decision without authorization.” “Check with your buddy Guile,” Commander Sam replied. “We decided to do this late last year, and we got all of the paperwork done and signed while Guile was still commissioner. It’s all legal. You’re stuck with me, ‘old friend,’ and I’m going to be looking over your shoulder all year. Live with it.”
(With his face still an angry red, Grogan introduced the next speaker.)
The Untamed Warriors Incredible Badger, Manager: “Well, I, for one, want to welcome Commander Sam. Things are starting to look up a bit. And for my team, they were already getting better. Lycanthrope, Cougar Claw, and Silverfang all return from last year. Crow has decided to leave us, and I have no idea what his plans are. But we have added three men who were left adrift when Garis, Stargazer, and Silver Ace sold out to the CPC. The first two are very familiar names: Maccavity and Eric Cage. The third was formerly known as the Hollywood Stud, but he has decided to drop that image and use his real name: Daniel Streamline. With these six men, we will go after both Krakan’s Agents and the Bishop’s sick following.”
The Imperial Powers Tirrion Astri, Manager: “Our team is unchanged from last year. High Lord Marlicus, Captain Dalcost, Gorthanor, Vascor, and Tarloc are all back. As defending War Games champions, we needed no changes. We will continue to oppose the Star Defenders and the CPC’s Primary Colors with all of our ability, and we will continue to dominate this federation.”
CPC Primary Colors Shadowmaster, Manager: “Last year we were held back by the incompetence of the Unknown Soldier and Ancient Terror. This year will be different. Joining the USWF Heavyweight Champion Pathfinder and our leader, Marikel, in singles action will be Mayhem, who will claim the heavy metal title immediately. We are also replacing Ancient Terror by bringing back Theater of Pain. The Imperial Powers and the Star Defenders will be ground to dust under the power of the CPC.”
CPC Second Wave Parsec, Manager: “Primary Colors may be carrying the CPC standard, but we have more gold than any other CPC team. We have the tag team champions, Shaun Styles and Conrad Chase, and Chase also still has the cruiserweight belt. Although I don’t want to contradict Shadowmaster, Mantric will be the one to claim the vacant heavy metal title. And we also have Witherspoon and Vulcan. If Colerain and Thakur think they can handle us, bring it on.”
CPC Enforcement Division Silver Ace, Manager: “Why did I join the CPC? Because Mr. Colby pays better, and now I am in charge of a great new team, much better than the losers I had to manage last year. We will be the police force of the CPC, punishing anyone who gets in the way of CPC business. First, I am happy to announce that Stargazer is still with me as my singles star. We also have a great new tag team, Shiryu and Shouji Kanemura, who will be known as Kobe Power. One of our goals is to beat up on the ugly alien team from Thralix, and we’ll also deal with anyone else who bothers Marikel or Mr. Colby.” (After Silver Ace’s statement, Commissioner Grogan stepped forward again.)
“Now we have two individual wrestlers who wish to make statements,” Grogan said. “Both have left the CPC’s Primary Colors team. They are the Unknown Soldier and Pyramid.”
Unknown Soldier: “I’ve made a lot of mistakes in the past, and I have more enemies than anyone. I’ve walked out on the Agents of Fortune, the Imperial Powers, and now the CPC, and I expect that I’ll have all of them after me now. In addition, I know that the Star Defenders hate me for what we did to Lance At-Las. But if I have to stand alone, I will. I’m done with the CPC and all of Colby’s garbage, and I’ll prove it to everyone this year.”
Grogan again took the microphone. “I have been informed that Crow does intend to wrestle as an independent this year, but he has declined to make a statement. In addition, I understand that Raven may be wrestling here occasionally as an independent, but I have no idea when he will arrive. And I think that takes care of all of the introductions . . .” (Before Grogan could finish, the back door of the press room was blasted off its hinges. For the past two years Splatter had made his entrance in this manner during the press conference, but this year everyone knew that Splatter was in the GWF. As all attention turned to the source of the interruption, two towering individuals rode through the door and into the press room on motorcycles. Riding behind one of the two men was a small blonde woman in a leather jacket. After a moment’s pause, everyone recognized two of the intruders: one of the riders, dressed in a baseball cap and baggy clothing, was Rock Ravishing, former partner of Marikel in the tag team Pure Power, while the young woman riding behind him was none other than Brainstorm’s former valet Darla.)
The Flatliners Rock, Team Member: “That’s not quite everybody, Grogan. I’m back, and I have friends. No more Rock Ravishing—you can just call me Rock. As you can see, I’ve had a little attitude change. My partner is Slash, and we’re the Flatliners. You can also see that we have a third member, but don’t call her Darla anymore. She’s now Biker Chick, and she’s my chick. We’re here to get some payback on a bunch of people, most of all the CPC scum like their so-called leader Marikel. But we’ll start with this big new tag team of theirs. If Kobe Power is supposed to be so tough, let them try us. We’ll go through them and any other stooges Colby can come up with until we’re standing in front of Marikel, and then we’ll see which member of Pure Power comes out on top.” (The CPC members on stage broke out into angry shouts as security arrived to head off the bike-riding intruders. Grogan ended the press conference quickly, but the arrival of the Flatliners and Commander Sam and the comments of Jason, Colerain, and others showed that while the CPC might own the commissioner, the USWF would not be taken over without a fight.)

GWF 2107 Highlights
From WPU 10.2
GWF BEGINS LEGAL ACTION AGAINST CPC The GWF’s executive offices called a press conference on February 13, 2107 on Jupiter. Speaking for the federation were Commissioners Morpheus and Omega. “We have a very important announcement today,” Omega began. “For some time, the Colby/Pelf Corporation has been pretty much having its way in wrestling. Magnus Colby’s money has bought wrestlers, referees, and even Former Commissioner Grogan. Colby’s goal is clear: he wants to control wrestling. However, many of his actions have been in violation of GWF bylaws as well as on occasion in violation of galactic law. “We know that Colby has covered his tracks too well for us to seek criminal prosecution. However, we have plenty of evidence of his activities that have broken GWF bylaws and galactic anti-trust guidelines. Therefore, as of today we have initiated a civil lawsuit against Magnus Colby, Sonora Pelf, and the Colby/Pelf Corporation.” Omega paused before continuing. “Legal proceedings can take a long time,” he stated finally. “We do not expect immediate results. However, if we win this suit we hope to force Magnus Colby to surrender all of his GWF stock holdings and influence and to void all contracts he has signed with individual wrestlers, effectively disbanding the CPC as a GWF organization. We also hope to receive authority to suspend Mr. Colby from any connection with GWF action for a long period of time because of his violation of GWF bylaws.” When Omega finished, Morpheus took the microphone. “That’s the legal stuff, and it’s nice to be on the prosecution’s side this time,” he sneered, receiving a laugh from the press corps. “But as Omega said, this will take time. In fact, we expect Colby’s lawyers to draw this out for a year or two. Meanwhile, wrestling still goes on. For now, Colby’s men are on notice: we will tolerate nothing from them. Any violation of our rules can result in suspension. Omega and I are working on a new Galaxian Code, and we have some other ideas for enforcing it besides lawsuits. We told Colby he had a war coming. It just began.”
GALACTIC WAR 2107: RETURN OF THE DEFENDER Galactic War has been the first regular supercard of every GWF year since the event began in 2090. The 2107 card was held on February 17 at the Io Coliseum of Jupiter.
The winners of the Galaxy Cup Singles and Tag Team Tournaments normally receive automatic title shots at Galactic War. For the second straight year, however, the galaxian champion won the singles tournament, thus eliminating the automatic title shot. The commissioners’ office therefore ordered a top contenders match between Paragon and Pegasus on February 12. Pegasus won the contest and was granted the match against GWF Champion Chaos.
Galactic War 2107 Highights Ursa Major rolled up Lycosa with a “Shotgun Cradle” Jack of Diamonds defeated Dark Justice by disqualification Vyper drilled U. S. Patriot with a “Vyper’s Sideshow” in a Lepus Stun Rod Match CPC Rising topped the Ninja Assassins Death’s Head, Blazing Skull, and Anarchy beat No Fear and Blade in an Elimination Tag Match Kati pounded Splatter in a Castor Chain Match Enigma hit Rising Sun with a “Feet of Fury” to retain the cruiserweight championship Wraith took the heavy metal title from Painmaster in a Cosmic Cage Match Defender of the Realm appeared in place of the Mad Jester and dominated the Draconian Sheik in a Street Fight Desolation Factor got a win over Predator and Wrath when Wrath was disqualified Heracles blasted Paragon with an “Olympia” to win a Hydra Lumberjack match Max Shield pinned Malice with a “Maximum Impact” to regain the interplanetary title Spike ripped up Vengeance in a Barbed Wire Cage Match Terminus gained a victory in a bloody and violent Leather Strap Match against Wolf X-Termination won by disqualification over GWF Tag Team Champions Thunder and Overkill Chaos held on to his Galaxian Heavyweight title by pinning Pegasus after a “Galaxy Crusher.”
Galactic War 2107 Wrap-Up As usual, the supercard produced some exciting and surprising moments. The best matches were Jack of Diamonds’ win over Dark Justice, the three-man tag match between Brymstone Burning and the Centaurians, and the Leather Strap Match between Wolf and Terminus, which reached new levels of brutality even by Wolf’s standards. Both combatants in the Leather Strap Match are expected to be out of action for at least two weeks. Terminus, who won the match, was actually injured more severely and may miss even more time.
A frightening moment took place in the Three-Man Tag Match when Blazing Skull’s head erupted in an explosion like that which killed Crossfire several years ago and burned Archon. Such explosions have happened in previous matches this year, but in this case the blast seemed more potent. Archon was injured, and the commissioners’ office suspended Blazing Skull immediately after the card. However, the most shocking incident took place when the Defender of the Realm emerged from the dressing room to battle the Draconian Sheik in place of the Mad Jester. The Defender absolutely dominated the contest. Afterward he attempted to explain his sudden reappearance to the media. “I confess, I’m a bit confused myself,” Defender stated. “All I know is that I woke up today and felt like a different person. It’s been happening to me every once in a while. I wish I could explain. It’s like there are two different people inside me, and sometimes one is stronger, sometimes the other. Today, for the first time in a long time, I won. Next time who knows? Everyone thought that the Jester’s personality had won out in me, but the Defender is not giving up. I’m going to keep fighting until the Defender of the Realm is back in complete control and the Jester is gone for good.” Asked about the Defender’s comments later, Jack of Diamonds was skeptical. “I’ve trusted that guy too many times,” he said. “I don’t know what he’s up to now, but I want no part of it. He may be lying. Even if he’s telling the truth, he’s about as stable as nitroglycerin. Who knows where he’ll go off? I don’t want to be involved.”
GWF INTERVIEW: COMMISSIONERS OMEGA AND MORPHEUS No one familiar with the history of the GWF needs an introduction to Omega or Morpheus. The two founders of the federation have been tag team partners, business partners, and bitter enemies. Now they are co-commissioners as the GWF faces its toughest challenge ever from the Colby/Pelf Corporation. The commissioners recently granted the following interview to Qualitar. Q: Gentlemen, thank you for being here. I have a lot of questions that everyone has been asking. The first is the most obvious: how does it happen that Morpheus, who was banned from the GWF for life for his illegal activities, is now the federation’s commissioner? Omega: I’ll answer that one. Morpheus made mistakes in the past. He has acknowledged that. But we are being threatened like never before, and we need all the strength we can get. No matter what differences we have had, I know that no one is stronger than Morpheus. Morpheus: I did my time. I spent over three years in prison. That should satisfy anyone. Now we have business to take care of. Leave the past in the past. I’m here to help the GWF. No one takes over the federation I helped create. Q: But Omega, how do you know that you can trust your partner here? Omega: I guess this can be told now. The truth is that Colby tried to buy Morpheus last year. He claimed that he could get Morpheus reinstated and hired as the new commissioner if Morpheus would be on his payroll like Grogan was. Instead of accepting, Morpheus came to me. Colby had offered him this job alone, instead of sharing it with me, and more money than we could ever give, yet he turned it down. That’s what convinced us that he was really on the right side. Q: Morpheus, it sounds like you turned down all the power and money you ever wanted. Why? Morpheus: I learned a few things from that time in prison. I’m still the same person, but I’m no fool. I was not going to get myself into an illegal situation again. Besides, no matter what I ever did, I never wanted to destroy the GWF. This federation is as much my legacy as Omega’s. Like I said, no one is going to take it over while I can stop it. Q: Okay. Let’s try something else. Other than Mr. Colby, what do you see as the major issues for the GWF now? Morpheus: My focus is on Colby. That’s what I was hired for. The GWF always needs to expand and grow, and we always want to find ways to create excitement. But it’s hard to look beyond the CPC now, at least for me. Omega: That’s how we have things organized. Morpheus is totally focused on Colby. I’m taking care of the other issues. We are a little concerned about the violence of certain people, especially the Brymstone team. Splatter now has a partner in Vyper, and that’s a problem. And I’m very worried about our relationship with the USWF. Q: Now that you bring that up, what is your current relationship with the USWF? Omega: Very strained. With Grogan in charge there, we can’t trust anyone. We helped create that federation, but Colby has had more success in his takeover efforts there. I’m afraid that the USWF may be lost for good soon.

CPC CLAIMS ALL THE GOLD A major card at the Rhea Forum of Saturn on February 20, 2107 ended as perhaps the Colby/Pelf Corporation’s greatest triumph as Colby’s teams walked out of the arena with every title recognized by the USWF.
The main attraction for the evening was the tournament to fill the heavy metal title, which had remained vacant since being abandoned by Wrath after his incredible thirty-one month reign. The CPC entered six of the sixteen men in the tournament, with three—Mayhem, Mantric, and Father Steel—reaching the semi-finals.
When it was all over, Father Steel emerged as the new champion, finishing off the Aethran powerhouse Nightmare in just under six minutes. Steel had a difficult road to the finals, having to overcome Dagger Mack, Blitz, and Mantric before facing Nightmare.
Steel thus became the heavy metal champion for the second time. In 2104, wrestling then as Big Daddy Steel, he became the only person since December of 2100 to defeat Wrath for the title. The amazing former champion regained the belt in Steel’s first title defense, but the three week reign of Big Daddy Steel proved to be the only interruption in what was otherwise a six year title reign for Wrath.
Two other title matches took place on the Rhea Forum card. In the first, Charon received his much anticipated shot at the cruiserweight belt held by Conrad Chase. As he had in a previous non-title match, Charon dominated the action, but CPC interference and the favoritism of special referee Scourge kept the challenger from scoring the pin. In the end Charon was disqualified by Scourge and Chase retained the title.
Finally, Black Hawk was ordered by Commissioner Grogan to defend the interstellar belt against Marikel Magnifique. One again Scourge served as the referee. Black Hawk dominated the match in the early going, but eventually Marikel recovered and, with some help from Scourge, pinned Black Hawk with a “Trés Magnifique” to win the belt and give the CPC all of the USWF gold.
“This is a sad day,” Commander Sam, Black Hawk’s manager, said afterward. “Black Hawk and Charon got robbed. The tournament was set up for a CPC win. If Wrath was still here, Steel never would have touched that belt. But we’ll continue to fight. There will be other days for Black Hawk, Charon, and everyone else. This is discouraging, but it can’t last forever. Our men will come back and take some of those belts from the CPC.”
Commissioner Grogan dismissed Sam’s comments. “I’m getting tired of all of this complaining,” he said. “All I did was make a champion defend his title. Sam has become a very poor loser. We never wanted him here, and we don’t want him now. If he’s unhappy, he can go back to the GWF whenever he wants. As for Scourge, I don’t want to hear any more complaining about him as a referee. He’s doing a fine job. And I want to congratulate Father Steel. He did a great job too. What does Sam mean that the tournament was a set-up? Steel won it fairly. Wrath is just lucky he wasn’t here to be embarrassed.”
MIXED RESULTS FOR CPC AT STAR CHALLENGE 2107 The eighth annual USWF Star Challenge Invitational Tournaments took place on March 2 at Fire Island before a sellout crowd of 35, 337. The Star Challenge features two tournaments, one for single wrestlers and another for tag teams. All participants are selected by the USWF Commissioner’s office, and all matches in the tournaments are fought under Titan Death rules. Tournament winners are awarded automatic title shots at the USWF heavyweight and tag team championships. Star Challenge 2107 also included the third annual USWF battle royal, with the winner being granted a shot at the interstellar title.
In the Star Challenge singles tournament, CPC star and current USWF Heavyweight Champion Pathfinder of Ceres became the first man to reach the finals for a third time, having won the Challenge in 2101 and finished as runner-up in 2104. This year Pathfinder joined Wrath and Pormak Landiron as a two-time champion in the event, but his victory did not come without controversy.
The final match featured two CPC wrestlers as Pathfinder met Bishop Hell. Pathfinder dominated most of the contest, and USWF Head Referee Scourge appeared to be calling the contest evenly. However, at the eleven minute mark Bishop Hell caught Pathfinder squarely in the face with a “Hellfire” and seemed to have the match won. Suddenly, in spite of the Titan Death Match rules that prohibit interference, Pathfinder’s “Primary Colors” teammate Mayhem appeared in the ring and nailed the Bishop with a chair. Scourge simply watched the interference without reaction, and Pathfinder soon recovered and pinned the Bishop with a “Ceres Crunch.”
Not surprisingly, Bishop Hell was furious after the card. “I had the match won,” he fumed. “This was supposed to be a Titan Death match—no interference. I guess Scourge had orders to make sure Pathfinder stayed on top. Obviously not everyone in the CPC is on the same level. But Mr. Colby pays me too well to worry about that. The person I want is Mayhem. He’s the one who hit me. We never liked each other, and if he thinks I’m gonna let this pass, CPC or no, he’s even crazier than everyone thinks he is.”
In the tag team tournament, former CPC members Armageddon became two-time winners by defeating current CPC members Theater of Pain in spite of obvious favoritism by referee Scourge. The title match was a lopsided battle, as the winners kept Comedy in the ring for nearly the entire match before Slaughterhouse finally pinned him with a power bomb. Armageddon also won the Star Challenge Tag Team Tournament in 2102.
CROW WINS CRUISERWEIGHT BELT AT UNITED CENTER The long cruiserweight title reign of Conrad Chase ended at the Prantares United Center on March 26 when he was defeated for the belt by Crow.
Crow entered the title match undefeated for 2107 with a 6-0 record. The contest started slowly, but the challenger soon took control of the action. After twice missing with his “Carrion Call” finisher, Crow finally blasted Chase with a slingshot legdrop. Even a slow count by USWF head referee Scourge could not save the champion, who was momentarily knocked unconscious by the move.
Crow’s win gives him his first championship in the USWF. Chase’s title reign ended after a surprising run of over eight months and fourteen successful defenses.
“I don’t know what Crow is thinking these days,” commented the Incredible Badger, Crow’s former manager who was rejected when the new cruiserweight champ struck out on his own this year. “Sometimes I don’t like his new attitude. But tonight, he proved that the CPC can be beaten. For that, I’m proud of him, and everyone in the USWF should celebrate his win.”
GWWF REPORT
SUPERNOVA, AETHRANS PUSH CHAMPIONS TO LIMIT Although the CPC remains on the top of the GWWF by holding both the singles and tag team titles, Sonora Pelf’s team has been severely tested in recent weeks and may be on the verge of losing the gold.
On the singles side, Voodoo Queen has done everything possible to avoid defending her belt, but she was ordered to face Supernova on a recent GWF card and was soundly beaten. Supernova, a two-time former champion herself, was promised a title shot within the month.
Tag team champions the Enchantresses have been manhandled by the Hysteria and Devil Woman, the Aethran Amazons, on several occasions. And even if the champions are able to hold off the Aethrans, former champions Leather and Lace are red-hot and pushing for a title shot. All in all, the CPC will face some major tests in its quest for GWWF dominance as the next few weeks pass.
