GWF 2108 Highlights
From WPU 11.5
END OF THE MASKED ASSASSINS NINJAS DUMP DARKOS IN WAR GAMES ROSTER SHAKE-UP Just over one year after referring to themselves as a team “on the move” in a WPU interview, the Masked Assassin group dissolved completely when the Ninja Assassins broke their ties with Darkos.
The decision was announced at a press conference on July 7, just before the end of the GWF’s mid-year break. Appearing together at the event was the strange combination of Vertigo, Reynard B. Guile, and Commissioner Morpheus.
“I’m here to keep this thing civil,” Morpheus announced. “The other two men on stage don’t like each other much, but they both have announcements to make. I’m going to start with Vertigo. Guile, please be patient, and you’ll get your chance.”
“Thank you, commissioner,” the Genesis manager said as he stepped forward. “After several discussions with Lord Nexus, we have decided that it is in the best interests of both the Genesis team and TitanAttack that Ursa Major and Scion Nexus are removed from our War Games roster. We thank them both, and Lord Nexus too, for the effort they have put in, but things just have not worked out well. Lord Nexus asked me to state that TitanAttack will continue for the rest of this year as a non-War Games tag team in the GWF.
“Obviously, we had to have a replacement for the Titans on our roster,” Vertigo continued. “This one is going to come as a surprise. After a recent card, Daemon and Hydrax approached me and said that they were sick of Darkos. They asked if they would be welcome on the Genesis team. While we have never seen eye-to-eye with the two of them, we can’t ignore their talent. Therefore, the Ninja Assassins will be joining Genesis for the rest of the War Games, and maybe beyond.”
When Vertigo finished, Guile took the microphone. “So Vertigo stole one of my tag teams,” he sneered. “Big deal. I have some real announcements. First of all, Brainstorm is being removed from our roster and will now wrestle as an independent. With him and the Ninjas gone, that leaves just Lycosa and Disorder X on our team. But we already have replacements. First, I am happy to say that Death’s Head has agreed to join us as a singles wrestler. And our other new addition is someone no one has seen for a while, but he fought here in 2105. Now he’s back to help us out. All the way from Dimension X, our newest member is Vector One.”
After the press conference, Darkos announced that he would return to the ring occasionally as an independent wrestler. “After all I did for them, they’ve all deserted me,” the Head Assassin grumbled. “Well, I’ll show them: Lycosa, Enigma, the Ninjas, everyone. I’ll prove I’m still a major force in this federation, even if it has to be as a wrestler. I’m not ready to fade away just yet.”
CODE ENFORCER WINS BELT, REVEALS IDENTITY In an unexpected turn of events at the Antares Firedome on July 11, the Code Enforcer I not only defeated Mandrill for the Galaxian heavyweight title, but then removed his mask and revealed himself to be a familiar face—in a manner of speaking. After Mandrill’s countout loss to the Enforcer at the Deep Space Showcase, Commissioners Omega and Morpheus ordered the rematch to take place in a cage at the Firedome. Mandrill protested, but the commissioners stood firm, and the match took place as scheduled. The action went back and forth for several minutes, with the advantage shifting numerous times, before the challenger decked Mandrill with a running spear. Mandrill kicked out of a pin attempt, but the Enforcer followed up with an “Enforcer DDT.” This time the champion could not escape, and the big masked man had his first GWF title. As the cage was raised, the new champion stood in the center of the ring with the title belt. Instead of leaving, however, he called for the ring microphone. “I finally made it,” the Enforcer said. “I am the GWF champion. This should shut up anyone who ever doubted me, like all of those people who talked about me ‘not living up to my potential.’ Well, I lived up to it tonight, and I want everyone to know exactly who it is that holds this title now.” With that, the new champ reached up and pulled off his own mask—revealing another mask underneath. It was Manslaughter, the former Masked Assassin who had left the team shortly before the end of 2107. Then, after a short pause, the Enforcer pulled off the Manslaughter mask to reveal his own unshaven, surly countenance and threw the mask into the crowd. “I don’t need that anymore,” he stated. “I’m through with the whole Masked Assassin image . . . but then, I guess everyone is now. Hey Darkos, what do you think? You insulted me one too many times, and so you lost me. Now that I’ve revealed who I am, you’d better stay out of my way. And Lycosa, that really goes double for you. I’d like nothing more than to squash you, you little gnat. As for the others, Enigma and the Ninjas, I got no problem with them. But I’m with the FDF now. Commander Sam has made me a champion, and I’m gonna stick with him. Thanks Sam. We did it.” Reaction to the Code Enforcer’s revelation involved less surprise than expected. “I never caught on,” stated his War Games teammate Archon, “but I always knew Manslaughter could make it. The kid was always tough, and he would never give up no matter what you did to him. He’s certainly improved, but that’s just Sam’s influence. I’m happy for him.” Max Shield expressed similar sentiments. “I always thought he’d be a good one some day,” Shield said. “The talent was always there. I’m glad he got away from Darkos, and I’m really glad he’s on our side.” Mandrill, however, was less impressed. “I don’t care who he is,” the Prime Colonizer stated. “With or without the mask, he’s a wannabe with no right to my belt. He got lucky. Next time it’ll be different. That title belongs to me. No one can compare with Mandrill, and I’m gonna prove it the next time that big moron is in my sights.”
STARCLASH XXII The GWF’s twenty-second annual Starclash supercard took place at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena on August 15, 2108. The longest running of the GWF supercards, Starclash has been the occasion of many featured tributes to retiring superstars, celebrations, startling announcements, and other in-ring surprises. For this reason, press conferences called during the Starclash celebration are as anticipated and important as the wrestling card itself. The 2108 event was no exception.
OMEGA AND MORPHEUS DECLARE VICTORY The morning of the 2108 Starclash supercard began with a surprise press conference called by GWF Commissioners Omega and Morpheus. Appearing on stage with the commissioners were GWFF Commissioner Solaris and GWWF Commissioner Carter. “We want to welcome everyone to this year’s Starclash,” Omega began. “We have several announcements to make, but our first order of business is to declare our war with Magnus Colby officially over. I’ll let Morpheus fill you in on the details.” Morpheus stepped forward and took the microphone. “It’s pretty simple,” he stated. “At the beginning of the year, we told you that we had won our court case against the Colby/Pelf Corporation and that the decision was under appeal. Now we are happy to say that Colby has officially exhausted all of his appeal possibilities. He has nowhere else to go, and the court has ordered him to comply with its decision by the end of this year. “For that reason, we are hereby issuing the following statement,” Morpheus continued. “As of January 1, 2109, all current contracts of GWF wrestlers are hereby void. We are starting fresh. Everyone in this federation is going to have to make a choice: us or Colby. We will offer contracts to all wrestlers currently active in the GWF. However, after January 1, any person under contract to the GWF who is also found to be accepting payment of any kind from Magnus Colby will be banned from the GWF for life.
“Furthermore, by order of the court, all GWF stock owned by Magnus Colby has been seized and will be sold in blocks, with no one person being allowed to buy more than five percent of the shares. Colby therefore loses his voice in any meeting of the GWF’s executive council. In other words, Magnus Colby is gone as an influence on the policies and decisions of the GWF, and at the end of the year his in-ring influence will also end.” Omega stepped up to the microphone again. “As we mentioned in our press conference in January, a victory over the CPC does not solve all of our problems,” he said. “The threats against and pressure on the GWF and all of professional wrestling by the UFSP have continued to grow. I am convinced that President Cordanus will settle for nothing short of shutting us down. I understand that he has already secretly been lobbying many local governments across the galaxy to pass anti-wrestling ordinances while he prepares a more global assault through the UFSP. This is a very real threat, and we all need to be prepared for anything.
“However, the fight against Cordanus will be fought by other men,” Omega continued. “With our battle against the CPC over, I have no reason to continue in this position. Therefore, as of the end of 2108, I am resigning as co-commissioner. The GWF board of governors will decide on a replacement. However, due to the service he has provided to our federation during our current troubles, and because I believe he has proven his loyalty to the GWF and has put his past errors behind him, I am recommending to the board that Morpheus be retained as sole commissioner of the GWF.”
Solaris came forward next. “I am here to update you all on the situation with the GWFF on Kronos,” he said. “Unfortunately, the news is not good. We still have not determined who has been using our time-travel equipment without authorization. We have not determined whether we have any unauthorized visitors from the past or the future. We have been receiving constant criticism on this issue from UFSP President Cordanus. Therefore, we have no choice at this time. I am officially disbanding the GWFF. If at some point in the future we are able to improve our security, we may restart action on Kronos, but for now the GWFF is officially closed down.” Finally, Morpheus spoke once again. “That concludes our announcements for this year,” he said. “Some of it is good news, and some is not so good. But the GWF will keep fighting no matter what happens. We’ll see you all at the card tonight.”
STARCLASH XXII PREVIEW The main event for Starclash traditionally involves the Galaxian heavyweight champion. This year Code Enforcer Manslaughter had fought through all of his competition since winning the belt, holding off tough challenges from Vengeance and Mandrill. Finally an unexpected opponent stepped forward: Pegasus, the four-time former champion and 2108 Galaxy Cup tournament winner who has the best overall record in the federation in 2108. Although the Champions and the FDF, the teams of which Pegasus and the Code Enforcer are members, are close allies and normally do not fight each other, Pegasus put out his challenge two weeks before Starclash. “I respect Manslaughter,” Pegasus stated. “This is not personal. But I should be the champion, and I want to be the champion. I deserve the shot at Starclash.” Manslaughter’s reaction made the match official. “I got nothing against Pegasus,” the champion stated. “But this is my belt. If he thinks he can just walk in and take it, he’s in for a surprise. Bring it on, Pegasus. If you think you can still handle me, then let’s find out who really deserves this belt.” Twin Blood’s dominance of the tag team division also left the tag champions without a clear challenger. When Thunder and Overkill won a top contenders match against Millennium, the gladiators were granted the title match. Other championship contests on the card included Wrath defending the interplanetary belt against Vengeance, Special Matches Champion Wolf taking on Splatter in a Titan Hardcore Match, and Interplanetary Tag Team Champs Rebel Empire putting up their belts against Disorder X. Cruiserweight Champion Code Enforcer II missed the card with an injury.
STARCLASH XXII: THE CARD Dynamo put down Ursa Major with a “Muscle Ripper” Monad beat Scion Nexus with a “Quadruple Clamp” Skinhead tripped Brainstorm with a “Bad Attitude” in a Turnbuckle Shock Match Painmaster defeated the Mad Jester in a Total Anarchy Match Enigma topped Mandrill in a Zero Gravity Platform Match The Ninja Assassins blasted Cygnus Strikeforce with Massif as the referee Heracles knocked out Lance At-Las with a stun rod in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Predator dominated Spike in a Torture Chamber Match Wraith made a stunning comeback to top Rising Sun in a federation exile match Desolation Factor held on to the War Games tag team titles by defeating Alpha Power The Matador of M83 and Mayhem fought to no decision in a Hydra Lumberjack Match Rebel Empire retained the interplanetary tag team belts by defeating Disorder X Wolf outlasted Splatter in a wild Titan Hardcore Match to retain the special matches title Wrath pinned Vengeance with a “Gladiator Killer” to hold on to the interplanetary title Malice blasted Black Hawk with a “Fields of Malice” Twin Blood retained the GWF tag team titles with a win over the Gladiators GWF Champion Code Enforcer Manslaughter won by disqualification over Pegasus.
Starclash Wrap-Up Although no major titles changed hands, this year’s Starclash provided some exciting moments. Perhaps the best battle was Wraith’s win over Rising Sun in their Federation Exile Match. Rising Sun dominated the contest, beating Wraith down for ten minutes and leaving the newest Colonizer bruised and bleeding. However, the high-flyer finally made a mistake outside the ring, and the small opening was all that Wraith needed to score the win. Rising Sun will be exiled from the GWF for sixty days, during which time he is expected to perform in the USWF. The championship main events were not among the better contests of the night. Code Enforcer Manslaughter’s disqualification win in the Galaxian title match left no one satisfied, including the champion. In contrast, Twin Blood’s victory in the tag team title match was too decisive, as the champions once again completely dominated their competition.
Not surprisingly, one of the wildest matches of the card was the Titan Hardcore Match between Wolf and Splatter. The two old rivals battled all over the arena as Splatter gave the special matches champion perhaps his toughest challenge yet for his belt.
FDF TAKES THE LEAD IN WAR GAMES The Federation Defense Fighters, the group that has now competed in the most War Games of any team without ever having won, has forged ahead in the 2108 Games. The FDF’s success is due in large part to Galaxian Champion Manslaughter, but all members of the team have contributed. The Rocket Men remain in second place, with the Champions and Massacre’s Warrior Alliance also within striking distance. However, Penthouse Suite and the Colonizers have fallen off the pace and may be too far behind to catch the leaders.
War Games Notes: The CPC’s Hired Guns made a roster change after the Starclash card, dropping Death’s Head and bringing back Halcón Oro from the USWF. The Commissioner’s office then froze all rosters for the remainder of the Games . . . The Terrorists may be in danger of setting the record for the worst performance ever in the War Games. That distinction currently belongs to the Brotherhood of the Occult with only 61 points in 2099. Doomsayer’s Entropy team narrowly missed setting the mark in 2100 with 62 points . . . The Terrorists were further hindered by injuries to both Splatter and Vyper just four days after Starclash. The lunatic and his partner attempted to ambush Skinhead after the cruiserweight star had beaten Prodigy. However, Skinhead managed to take Arsenal away from Splatter and knock out both of his assailants, putting them out of action for as much as two weeks.
GWF INTERVIEW: MAGNUS COLBY The multi-millionaire Magnus Colby entered the GWF in 2092 as the manager and financial backer of the Masked Assassins. In 2094 he took over as manager of Destruction Inc., the team formed by Chaos and Thantos. He left the GWF in 2096 after the Sudden Death loss of Destruction Inc. but resurfaced in 2101 to form the Colby/Pelf Corporation. Through the CPC Colby attempted to take over the GWF and later the USWF, but at the recent Starclash supercard GWF Commissioners Omega and Morpheus announced that they had won their court battle to banish Colby from the federation. After the GWF’s declaration of victory, Colby granted the following interview to Qualitar.
Q: Mr. Colby, I’d like to get your reaction to Omega and Morpheus’ announcement at Starclash. Colby: Reaction? Well, what they said was true. The courts have decided, and all of my GWF holdings have been seized. In essence, I have been blackballed. Q; So does this mean you are giving up your fight to remain in the GWF? Colby: I don’t have a lot of choice. I’ve exhausted all legal avenues. I have no appeals left. Q; Some people say that you were trying to destroy wrestling. How do you respond to those critics? Colby: I wasn’t trying to destroy anything. I love wrestling. If I tried to gain some control, it’s because I was worried about where the GWF was headed. I still think the federation, and all of wrestling for that matter, is in for some tough times ahead. But everything I did was for the good of the sport, whether anyone believes me or not. Q: So is this the end for you? Are you leaving wrestling for good? Colby: Of course not. This court decision only applied to the GWF. I am still a major stock holder in the USWF—in fact, I have 49 percent of the stock in that federation. I’ll just concentrate my energy—and my resources—in the USWF. Q: In the past, the GWF and the USWF worked cooperatively. Can you ever see yourself working with the GWF again after the way you have been treated? Colby: In this business, you never say never. Omega and Morpheus are not my favorite people, but I don’t even think they like each other much. Right now, they don’t want anything to do with me, and to be honest I don’t want to have anything to do with them either. But in a few years, who knows? Anything can happen if you give it enough time. Q: What about some of the wrestlers and managers who have been especially vehement or violent in their opposition of the Colby/Pelf Corporation, such as Commander Sam, Lance At-Las, Johnny Rocket, the Code Enforcers, Holocaust, or Daniel Streamline and the Unknown Soldier in the USWF? Colby: In most cases, I consider those fights to be with the CPC wrestlers, not with me. As far as I’m concerned, only two of them have really made this personal with me: Rocket and Holocaust. And to both of them, I would just say that they should get on with their lives. How long can Holocaust hold a grudge? And as for Rocket . . . well, consider the source. Q: I agree with you on that, sir. And personally, I want to say that I think the GWF is losing a great benefactor by banishing you. Colby: Keep talking, Qualitar. I may find a job for you yet.
USWF REPORT
INTERSTELLAR RUMBLE 2108 The Interstellar Rumble was founded as supercard in the GWF from 2095 to 2097. In 2101 the USWF brought back the Rumble as an annual year-ending event held at the Mimas Spectrum. In 2103 the card moved to mid-year and was transferred to the Rhea Forum of Saturn. Finally, in 2106 the event found a home at Earth’s Victory Garden, the USWF’s largest arena. The 2108 supercard took place on July 14 before a huge crowd of 103, 206 fans.
The main event for this year’s Rumble was originally planned to be a title match between USWF Heavyweight Champion Mantric and four-time former champion Pathfinder of Ceres. However, when Father Steel defeated Pathfinder in a match a few days before the supercard, Commissioner Grogan added Steel to the main event, making it a Tirion Triple Threat Match for the belt. In other title matches, Kobe Power received a rematch for the USWF tag team belts they recently lost to Rebellion, Skyfire was granted a shot at Charon’s cruiserweight strap, Crow put up the interstellar belt against fellow CPC member Maccavity, and Hurricane was set to defend the Hardcore title against Dagger Mack in a Titan Hardcore Match.
Interstellar Rumble 2108: The Card Scorpio defeated Mammoth by disqualification Daniel Streamline topped Witherspoon with Scourge as the special referee Casshan nailed Unknown Soldier with a “Cataclysm” in a Turnbuckle Shock Match Class Act overcame the Stormtroopers when Shawn Styles pinned Powerhouse Guthlac won a Total Anarchy Match against Gorthanor Skyfire won by disqualification against Cruiserweight Champion Charon Barbaric Destroyer defeated Jason the Canadian Bomber in a Scorpi King of the Ring Match Bishop Hell burned Holocaust with a “Hellfire” in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Alien Assault got by the Monastic Rule when Salitar Palgin pinned Brother Tamor Venom nailed Reckless Abandon with a “poison dart elbow” in a Shandor Street Fight Hurricane choked out Dagger Mack with a “throat slit” to retain the hardcore title Silverfang battered Lycanthrope in a Torture Chamber Match The Flatliners downed Armageddon when Slaughterhouse went down to a “Biker Rumble” Maccavity defeated Interstellar Champion Crow by disqualification when Kobe Power interfered Homicide whipped Captain Dalcost in a Castor Chain Match Marikel Magnifique and CPC Bounty outlasted High Lord Marlicus and the Star Patrol Rebellion retained the USWF tag team titles by defeating Kobe Power Pathfinder of Ceres nailed Mantric with a “Ceres Crush” to win the USWF heavyweight championship in a Tirion Triple Threat Match that also involved Father Steel.
Interstellar Rumble 2108 Wrap-Up Pathfinder’s victory in the main event was a shock to the federation, as the new champion had barely managed a .500 record in 2108. The CPC’s top star became champion for the fifth time, winning back the belt he had lost a year earlier to Raven at Interstellar Rumble 2107. Blitz and Scar fully legitimized their title reign with another win over Kobe Power despite another obviously biased officiating job by Scourge. The champions hit their “Aethran Triumph” finisher in Shouji Kanemura, but Scourge stalled long enough to allow Shiryu to make the save. Undaunted, Rebellion followed up with another “Aethran Triumph” on Shiryu. Scourge again made what may have been the longest count in federation history, but Shiryu was so incapacitated that the referee was left with no choice but to award the pin to the champions. The most surprising moment of the card came during the cruiserweight title match. The CPC has been frustrated throughout 2108 in its attempts to take the cruiserweight belt from Charon. On this night the champion was forced to fight despite an injury. Scourge not only failed to make a fair count when Charon had Skyfire covered, but he twice refused to disqualify Charon when the champion tried to take the most practical exit from an impossible situation. As Skyfire finally gained the advantage, a huge, familiar figure jumped out of the crowd and stormed the ring: Exo-King. The gigantic former GWF star attacked both Scourge and Skyfire, this time leaving the referee no choice but to call for the disqualification. “I’ve been watching the way things have been going here for a while,” Exo-King said after the card. “I like these kids Charon and Scorpio. They’re a tough team. Colby, Scourge, and Grogan have done everything possible to take that cruiserweight belt away from Charon, and he’s fought through it all. But tonight was just too blatant, so I got involved. Now that I’m here, I think I’ll stick around for a while. I’m not gonna manage anyone, but I may serve as an advisor and help out some of these young guys when they need it. I may even get in the ring once in a while. Everyone in wrestling has to stand up to Colby, and I’m gonna do my part.”
CPC TROUBLES BOIL OVER AS CATHEDRAL BREAKS AWAY In the wake of his failure to regain the USWF heavyweight championship in the main event at the Interstellar Rumble, Father Steel announced that the Cathedral of Calamity was breaking its ties with the Colby/Pelf Corporation. “I got screwed out of my belt,” Steel fumed. “They wanted to give it back to Pathfinder all the time. That’s okay—I can handle Pathfinder. But we don’t need the CPC if we’re not gonna get the same treatment as their high-profile teams. Colby hasn’t done anything for us. We’ll keep going in Sudden Death against the Agents of Fortune, but that’s just because we hate Dagger Mack and Homicide. We ain’t doing it for the CPC anymore.” Asked for confirmation of the split, Cathedral leader Bishop Hell just smiled. “You go tell Father Steel he’s wrong if you want to,” he said. “I’m not gonna argue with him. Besides, he’s right: Colby hasn’t done much to help us. We can do things on our own, and from now on we will.”
CHARON FINALLY SURRENDERS CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE After six months of frustrated efforts, the Colby/Pelf Corporation finally managed to pry the cruiserweight championship away from Charon when Skyfire defeated the champion for the belt on July 21 at the Cybele Palace. Having recovered from the injury that slowed him at the Interstellar Rumble, Charon was in control for most of the match. The champion dominated for over eight minutes, barely allowing Skyfire to land an offensive move. On two occasions Charon connected with his “Abandon All Hope” finisher, but both times a slow count by special referee Scourge allowed the challenger to escape. Finally Skyfire took an advantage on the floor. He immediately followed up with his “Heat Lightening” finisher, and this time Scourge’s count was extremely fast. Charon was clearly cheated out of his title, but he had no one to whom he could appeal, and the belt therefore changed hands. “That kid [Charon] was one heck of a champion,” Billy Jo Boxer commented after the card. “The way he held off all of Colby’s troops for so long was amazing. It had to end sooner or later, but I think he earned a lot of respect from everyone in the locker room.”
INTERSTELLAR TITLE SWITCH CAUSES MORE CPC PROBLEMS The growing tensions within the CPC once again became evident as Maccavity defeated Crow for the interstellar title at the Rhea Forum on July 25. As he had been in several previous non-title contests, Maccavity was in complete control throughout the match. The challenger hammered Crow repeatedly, losing his advantage only when Crow managed to throw him out of the ring. When the champion stunned himself by missing a senton splash on the floor, Maccavity rolled him back into the ring and quickly struck with a “Grand Theft” to score the win. “I thought the CPC was supposed to stick together,” complained the angry former champion after the card. “Why was Maccavity challenging me? This match never should have happened. Maybe Father Steel has it right. If things don’t get better soon, maybe Kobe Extreme should think of going our own way too.” Crow’s title reign lasted for seven shaky months of close calls. Maccavity, a three-time former USWF champion, became interstellar champion for the first time.
GWWF Report
BIG DAY FOR CPC AT QUEEN’S CHALLENGE V The GWWF’s fifth annual “Queen’s Challenge” supercard was held at the Mira Galaxy Dome on July 22, 2108. The event features tournaments for both tag teams and singles competitors and includes all active wrestlers in the federation. All matches in both tournaments are fought under Titan Death rules, with the winners receiving automatic shots at the GWWF singles and tag team championships.
When the card was over, the CPC’s representatives in the GWWF had captured both tournaments. The Enchantresses, who had not won a tag team match all year prior to the event, were the surprise winners of the tag tournament, while Velar finally lived up to her hype with a victory on the singles side.

Singles Tournament Finals Velar shocked the GWWF by nailing Devil Woman with a “Hammerlock Slam” to win the 2108 Queen’s Challenge Singles Title.
ENCHANTRESSES REGAIN TAG TEAM BELTS The Enchantresses, who held the GWWF tag team titles from October of 2106 until March of 2108, regained the belts with a win over the Aethran Amazons at the Iapetus Scope on August 3.
Anaxis and Cassandra had begun 2108 terribly, losing their belts and not actually winning a single match until the Queen’s Challenge Tournament in July. At the Challenge, however, the duo was unstoppable, rolling through three opponents to claim the victory that earned them a shot at the tag team belts.
The Enchantresses made the most of their opportunity when the title match took place. Cassandra began the contest and beat Hysteria down for several minutes. Anaxis then tagged and caught Hysteria in a “Grecian Sleeper Grip,” then held on to win the championship for her team. The new champions claimed the belts for the third time, having first won them in 2105. The Aethran Amazons’ shaky title reign lasted for just under five months.

GWF 2108 Highlights
From WPU 11.6
A RING FOR COMMANDER SAM FDF PUTS FINAL TOUCHES ON INCREDIBLE WAR GAMES WIN The Federation Defense Fighters wrapped up the fastest War Games victory in GWF history on October 1 at the Maxus Trinity Towers, finally giving Commander Sam the championship ring that had eluded him for so long.
The winning points of the Games were scored by Archon and Blade, who defeated Interplanetary Tag Team Champions the Ninja Assassins in a non-title match as Blade pinned Hydrax with a “Switchblade Kick.” Earlier on the card, Code Enforcer II and Defender of the Realm had also notched wins, leaving the FDF with an even 200 points.
The second-place Rocket Men continued fighting until the end. Skinhead tried to hold off the FDF charge with a win over Jack of Diamonds, Enigma wrestled despite an injury and pinned Lycosa, and the Matador of M83 broke a seven match winning streak for Galaxian Champion Manslaughter in the main event, but by then the issue of the Games was already decided.
To make matters worse for the Rocket Men, Twin Blood lost the tag team titles to Rebel Empire on the same night and on their home planet. Vendetta and Nefarus crushed Sleeze with an “Empire Triumphant” to win the tag belts for the first time. The tremendous title reign of Twin Blood thus ended after nineteen successful defenses.
“This just tops off a lousy night,” Rocket said after the match. “I really thought we were going to win it this year. All of our guys did a great job. And to lose the tag belts here, on Maxus . . . well, Dreggs and Sleeze are going to get them back. I’m just sorry we came up short tonight and in the War Games overall.”
The attitude of the FDF was understandably different. “After all of these years, this feels great,” Commander Sam said. “We’ve put so many teams in the War Games, and we always failed to get it done. Well, this year, we did it. All of our men put in a great effort. We won the War Games. We’ve beaten the CPC. I couldn’t be happier.
Jack of Diamonds echoed Sam’s feelings. “I’ve been here for almost fifteen years now, and I’ve been through a lot,” Jack stated. “Other than the IP tag belts a couple of times, I’ve never been a champion. Now I am, and it feels great. I wish I could have contributed a little more, because I know I haven’t had a great year personally. But we all won when we had to. That’s what matters.” The biggest factor in the FDF’s victory was the long title reign of Code Enforcer Manslaughter as Galaxian champion. In the final weeks of the Games, the huge masked man defeated Wrath, Predator, Vengeance, Enigma, Pegasus, the Matador of M83, and Mandrill twice to score important points for his team. He ended the War Games with a running total of twelve defenses of his title.
Manslaughter, Jack of Diamonds, Defender of the Realm, Archon, and Blade all earned their first War Games rings, as did managers Commander Sam and Loreli. Code Enforcer II is also assumed to be a first time War Games winner, although his true identity is not known.
SKINHEAD REGAINS CRUISERWEIGHT BELT Skinhead won the cruiserweight belt for the fourth time by defeating Code Enforcer II at the Mira Ceti War Memorial of Cetus on August 27. The Enforcer’s performance seemed lackluster from the beginning of the match. Skinhead was in control all the way, finally nailing the masked man with a “Bad Attitude” to score the win. “It’s about time,” Skinhead stated after the match. “I’ve been on top of my game all year, and things kept holding me back from winning a belt. Besides, we needed to slow down the FDF in the War Games. Now I’ve got this title, and I proved to that masked weirdo that you can’t just show up here in the GWF and call yourself a champion.” The Code Enforcer II, who still refuses to speak publicly, did not respond to Skinhead’s comments. However, the new champion’s choice of words may have struck a nerve with one of his War Games teammates. “Masked weirdo?” Enigma snapped after a reporter repeated Skinhead’s statement. “He got something against masks? Hey, I’m no friend of the Code Enforcer, and Skinhead may be my teammate for now, but he’d better watch what he says. I only joined the Rocket Men for the War Games. When these Games are over, we’re not teammates anymore, and that means he’s fair game. If Skinhead has anything to say about guys in masks, let him say it to me.” Skinhead’s reaction was not conciliatory. “I didn’t say anything about Enigma,” he said, “but I’ve beaten him before, and I’ll do it again. If he doesn’t like what I said, as soon as the Games are over I won’t be hard for him to find.”
WRAITH TOPS WRATH FOR INTERPLANETARY TITLE Wraith, the newest member of the Colonizers of Scorpi, won the first title of his GWF career when he defeated the half-Aethran powerhouse Wrath for the interplanetary belt at the Altair Crystal Palace on September 1. The title match was a terrific battle that lasted for over twelve minutes. The challenger took the early advantage and hammered Wrath for several minutes, but Wrath refused to stay down and finally fought his way into control. The champion then hit his devastating “Reprisal” finisher twice, but in both cases Wraith kicked out, once with the help of interference by Vendetta. Finally, with both wrestlers battered and bloody, Wraith regained the advantage on the arena floor and quickly connected with the “Sudden Death” score the victory and claim the title. Ironically, Wrath lost the title in the very same arena in which he had won it over five months earlier. His title reign lasted for twenty-one impressive defenses, the longest stint for any interplanetary champion since Nefarus ran up twenty-one defenses in 2104-5.
WOLF RETURNS, PROMISES MORE CARNAGE Wolf, the six-time former Galaxian champion and all-time victory leader in the GWF, came back to the federation in mid-September after a suspension for attacking and injuring Terminus during a match. However, the current special matches champion guaranteed no change in his behavior. “So they suspend me,” Wolf shrugged. “I guess they’ll never learn. I do things my way. I don’t like Terminus, so I jumped him. And if I do the same to Spike, or Vengeance, or Mayhem, or Splatter, or Dark Justice, or any of the other creeps in this federation that I hate, don’t be surprised. The commissioners want me to turn it down because the UFSP is putting on pressure? Give me five minutes alone with this Cordanus jerk, and the problem will go away. But short of that, they’d better all just stay out of my way if they don’t want more trouble, and even that may not be enough. I may decide to go hunting. I am Wolf. Nobody better try to reign me in, or blood will flow.”
WAR DOME WARFARE 2108 War Dome Warfare was created by Thakur the Oppressor and first took place in 2099 at the Aethra War Dome. The event continued until 2104, when the GWF cancelled the card for two years due to political disputes. In 2106 the federation reinstituted War Dome Warfare at Aethra’s huge new Warrior Village Coliseum. The 2108 supercard was held on October 6 before the typical sellout crowd of over 144, 000 fans. As is usual with GWF supercards, the main event involved a Galaxian title match, this time between Code Enforcer Manslaughter and the Matador of M83, who had ended the champion’s seven match winning streak in a non-title contest five days earlier. However, War Dome Warfare traditionally gives equal billing to at least one Aethran Ultimate Escape Match. This year the second main event was set to feature Vengeance, Malice, Thunder, and Overkill against Wolf, Wrath, Predator, and Black Hawk. Another match was set during the Maxus Trinity Towers card on October 1 when Nefarus issued a challenge to Vertigo. “In keeping with War Dome Warfare tradition, we wanted an Ultimate Escape match with your bunch of mutants,” he said. “But it seems like you have a problem. With Buck Steele out, all you have is Max Shield and Blizzard, and your Ninjas have a defense of their interplanetary tag belts scheduled. That means we have you outnumbered five to two. If you can find three men stupid enough to team with you, the Colonizers will be waiting.” The situation looked bleak for Genesis, with Buck Steele having been seriously injured earlier in the evening by the Mad Jester and Desolation Factor. However, before Vertigo could even respond to Nefarus, Lance At-Las walked out to the Genesis manager’s side. “These guys are real tough when they know Buck Steele’s out, aren’t they?” Lance asked. “You notice that they didn’t make this challenge until they were sure they wouldn’t have to fight Genocide. They’re nothing but a bunch of thugs, and I’d be happy to join up with you against them.” With Lance’s offer of assistance, Vertigo accepted Nefarus’ challenge, but his team was still two men short. Then, after Rebel Empire defeated Twin Blood for the tag team belts later on the card, Dreggs and Sleeze volunteered to fill the remaining slots. “I’ve been in a lot of Ultimate Escape Matches here,” Dreggs said. “In fact, I’m not sure anyone but Wolf and Vengeance has been in as many. It will be a little weird not fighting Aethrans, but these jerks from Scorpi need to be taught a lesson. After War Dome Warfare, me and Sleeze will take the tag belts back. But first, we’re ready to stand up with Genesis and show these goons who the real champions are.”
War Dome Warfare 2108 Highlights Monad downed Gila with a “Quadruple Clamp” The Hunters of Prey beat the Awesome Studs Disorder X overcame TitanAttack when Mace pinned Ursa Major Jack of Diamonds nailed Janus with a “Diamond Cut” in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Terminus dominated Defender of the Realm in a Scorpi King of the Ring Match Greg Valentine and Mike Fortune beat Cygnus Strikeforce Skinhead caught Prodigy with a “Bad Attitude” to retain the cruiserweight title The Draconian Sheik pounded Dark Justice in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match The Ninja Assassins held on to the interplanetary tag team titles against Crossfire Blazing Skull ripped through Kati in a Barbed Wire Cage Match Pegasus blasted Paragon with a “Project Pegasus” in a Cosmic Cage Match
Max Shield, Blizzard, Twin Blood, and Lance At-Las outlasted the Colonizers of Scorpi in an Aethran Ultimate Escape Match. Order of exit was as follows: Blizzard over Wraith, At-Las over Nefarus, Max Shield over Nefarus, Dreggs over Wraith, Painmaster over Sleeze, Nefarus over Sleeze, Mandrill over Sleeze, Sleeze over Vendetta
Chaos destroyed Heracles in a Torture Chamber Match Splatter pinned Mayhem on the arena floor in a Flamsteed Street Fight
Wolf, Black Hawk, Predator, and Wrath defeated the Gladiators of Aethra in an Aethran Ultimate Escape Match. Order of exit was as follows: Vengeance over Wolf, Black Hawk over Malice, Predator over Malice, Wolf over Overkill, Wrath over Thunder.
Code Enforcer Manslaughter retained the Galaxian heavyweight championship by defeating the Matador of M83 with a “Heads Will Roll.”
War Dome Warfare Wrap-up For the second consecutive year, the Gladiators of Aethra were defeated and humiliated in their Ultimate Escape Match. Vengeance was lividly angry after the card. “First the War Games, and now this,” he snapped. “I’m going to be talking to Thakur soon. We need to make some changes. This is simply unacceptable.” The most interesting aspect of the Gladiators’ match was that the half-Aethran Wrath, the most hated man on Aethra whenever he visits, refused to tag into the match until all of his teammates had escaped. He seemed to relish the idea of an uneven fight, and when he was finally left alone with Thunder, Overkill, and Malice, he battled his way through all three before escaping. The Galaxian championship match was an uneven affair. Code Enforcer Manslaughter dominated almost from the opening bell. The contest lasted for eleven minutes, but only because the Matador refused to surrender despite taking a tremendous beating. Some other matches that were expected to be competitive were also one-sided. Chaos was positively devastating against Heracles, winning their torture chamber match in less than five minutes. The Draconian Sheik also had a surprisingly easy time with Dark Justice
GWF INTERVIEW: UFSP PRESIDENT CORDANUS Prior to 2108, many GWF fans had never heard of Cordanus, President of the United Federation of Star and Planets. However, during the course of this year President Cordanus has made his presence felt, criticizing the violence in wrestling and threatening to take action to regulate the sport. Due to the potential influence that Cordanus could exert on the GWF and all of wrestling, WPU sent Qualitar to the UFSP offices to conduct the following interview. Q: President Cordanus, thank you for agreeing to see me. I have some questions concerning your criticism of wrestling that I’d like to clear up. Cordanus: Well, I can’t believe I’m lowering myself to doing an interview with a wrestling publication. But if this will help to solve the problems I have with your sport, so be it. Ask your questions, and I’ll try to answer in short sentences and small words so that you and your readers will understand. Q: Ahem. Okay, well, let’s start at the beginning. What, exactly, are these problems that you have with wrestling? Cordanus: You really haven’t been paying attention, have you? I’ve stated this a hundred times. Your “sport,” if that’s what you want to call it, is far too violent. It encourages aggression in our societies throughout the galaxy. We can’t tolerate its bad influence any longer. Q: But people have always been violent. Surely you can’t blame aggression in the society at large on wrestling. Cordanus: Wrestling does not cause the aggression, true. But it does encourage people to act on their aggressive tendencies. It sanctions violence, saying that to bash another human being with a chair or a chain is acceptable behavior. And look at the individuals you have in your wrestling federations: dictators like Mandrill, criminals like Vengeance, dishonest businessmen like Colby . . . Q: I doubt that Mr. Colby will like the way you’ve described him. But all of the people you named have been seen as negative elements within wrestling. How can you say that we present their behavior as acceptable? Cordanus: Right. And Wolf? Did you see his comments recently, how he could solve this whole situation if he had a few minutes alone with me? That type of threatening violent comment came from one of your heroes, right? Q: Well, Wolf has always been . . . Cordanus: Not just Wolf. He’s one of the worst. But what about Genocide? What about Blizzard and his Ice Attack? What about Pulsar and his Acid Rain? Or Wolf’s own pup, Lycanthrope, in the USWF? What about an angry, aggressive wrestler like Wrath? These are your “good guys,” right? Give me a break. Q: Well, okay, we have some things we could clean up . . . Cordanus: I’m not finished. Your wrestling organizations are all full of backstabbers. Your people all turn on each other year after year, attacking and selling out their own partners. You make a joke out of the idea of decency and loyalty. And your matches, like barbed wire cages and torture chambers, or using chains and stun rods. We got the leather strap banned, but that’s just a start. Q: Okay, okay. I get the idea. So what are you planning to do about all of this? Cordanus: I don’t think I like your tone. Qualitar. But what I plan to do is simple. On behalf of the UFSP, I am urging the GWF and the USWF to clean up their own acts, to ban the undesirable elements in their federations and to get rid of the overly-violent matches. We want the commissioners to take stronger disciplinary steps against anyone who breaks the rules or attacks another individual. Q: And if you’re still not satisfied? Cordanus: I don’t expect to be. I don’t think wrestling is capable of cleaning up its own house. Therefore, as many people know, the UFSP has presented anti-violence bills in numerous districts throughout the galaxy. If these pieces of legislation pass, next year local authorities will have the power to ban certain wrestlers or to cancel wrestling cards completely. When that happens, we’ll see if the GWF and the USWF will take enough responsibility to start following our directives.

CENTAURUS COLLISION 2108 TITLE CHANGES HANDS DUE TO COMMISSIONER’S RULING The Centaurus Collision, which takes place annually at the Alpha Centauri Colonnade, began in 2104 in the GWF as a temporary replacement for War Dome Warfare. Two years later, when the GWF reinstated the Aethran supercard, the Collision was picked up by the USWF. The 2108 edition of the Centaurus Collision took place on September 3. Centaurus Collision 2108 Highlights Barbaric Destroyer blasted Priest of Pain in a cage match The Monastic Rule downed the Stormtroopers Mammoth won by disqualification over Holocaust Gorthanor pounded Guthlac in a Barbed Wire Cage Match Crow nailed Rising Sun with a “Kobe Devastation” Alien Assault topped Armageddon Reckless Abandon took the hardcore title from Hurricane in a bloody Total Anarchy Match Charon overcame Toltecas with the “Ferryman’s Toll” Silverfang drilled Lycanthrope with a “Silverfang Kill” in a Titan Hardcore Match Witherspoon retained the cruiserweight belt by defeating Skyfire Class Act overcame the Flatliners with Scourge as the referee when Shawn Styles pinned Rock Mantric held on to the heavy metal title with a win over Father Steel in a cage match Bishop Hell hammered Dagger Mack in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match Marikel Magnifique slipped by Captain Dalcost in a Zero Gravity Platform Match Maccavity retained the interstellar title with a win over Daniel Streamline The Star Patrol tripped up Kobe Power Wolf dominated Homicide in a Shandor Street Fight CPC Bounty won the USWF tag team titles by defeating Rebellion
Main Event: The main event of this year’s Centaurus Collision featured one of the most controversial title changes in federation history. Pathfinder came to the ring as scheduled to defend the USWF heavyweight belt, as did the challenger High Lord Marlicus. However, USWF Head Referee Scourge failed to appear when he was announced. Moments later, the openly biased official was found unconscious on the floor of the backstage area. Pathfinder had no choice but to defend the belt without his usual advantage of Scourge’s erratic count. Marlicus took control of the situation, and just six minutes into the match the High Lord landed a “Divine Conquest” which should have given him the title. However, Pathfinder’s teammates Vascor and Tarloc immediately stormed the ring and attacked the challenger, forcing the referee to call for a disqualification. As Pathfinder and his allies began to walk away from the ring with the belt, Commissioner Grogan appeared at the entrance to the dressing room area with a microphone in hand. “I’m not going to let this happen tonight,” he stated. “These fans paid for a title match with a decisive ending, and they’re going to get one. I’m not going to overturn the referee’s decision. Marlicus wins the last match by disqualification, and Pathfinder is credited with a title defense by DQ loss. But I am granting Marlicus a rematch—right now! Furthermore, I want both managers away from the ring. This is a no DQ match, and anyone who interferes is suspended indefinitely. Now, Pathfinder, get back to the ring and defend your belt.” The champion began to protest, but by this time Marlicus had recovered and came up the entry ramp to grab Pathfinder and drag him back to the ring. The two battled for five more minutes before the High Lord again hit the “Divine Conquest,” this time scoring the pin and winning the USWF heavyweight title for the seventh time.
Centaurus Collision: The Wrap-Up Not surprisingly, the CPC forces were enraged after the card. “What does Grogan think he’s doing?” complained Shadowmaster, manager of the CPC’s Primary Colors. “He can’t order an immediate rematch. This was a sham. Pathfinder was robbed tonight, and we will be speaking to Mr. Colby about it. I think the commissioner needs to be reminded of who controls this federation.” Tirrion Astri, Marlicus’ manager, give the expected dissenting view. “I haven’t agreed with Grogan very often in these last two years,” he said, “but tonight he did the fair thing. I don’t know what made him do it, but we’ll take it. And we want to thank whoever took out Scourge, too. I guess everything went against the CPC tonight. What a shame. Now we have the belt. Let them try to take it.” One of the most exciting matches on the card was the Hardcore Title Match between Hurricane and Reckless Abandon. The two competitors beat each other all over the arena for fifteen minutes, with both bleeding profusely, before Reckless Abandon finally scored the win. Both wrestlers were expected to miss several cards due to their injuries.
Maccavity barely escaped with the interstellar belt. Only the interference of the CPC allowed him to stop Daniel Streamline from taking the title.
ANOTHER BREAK IN CPC The Colby/Pelf Corporation suffered its second major personnel loss of 2108 when the Kobe Extreme team announced that it was ending its association with the CPC. The break took place after a title match between Cruiserweight Champion Witherspoon and Kobe Extreme member Crow. Crow controlled the match, but the champion got the win after the referee overlooked interference by Conrad Chase and Shaun Styles. Following the title match, Crow sounded off to reporters. “I was robbed again,” the high-flyer fumed fumed. “First by Maccavity for the interstellar title, and now this. Obviously, even though we’re all supposed to be CPC members, some people get a little different treatment. Kobe Power has had the same problem trying to get the tag belts back. Well, we’re sick of it. If we’re supposed to take a back seat to Colby’s favorites, forget it. I’ve talked this over with Master Kobashi and with Kobe Power, and as of tonight we’re through with Marikel and the CPC. We’ll get things done our own way from now on.” Neither Marikel Magnifique nor Magnus Colby would comment on the situation. The loss of Kobe Extreme follows close on the heels of a similar decision by Bishop Hell’s Cathedral of Calamity. The dwindling CPC forces in the USWF now officially consist only of Marikel’s Primary Colors, Parsec’s Second Wave, and Silver Ace’s Enforcement Division. The CPC also maintains a loose association with Pormak Landiron and his Alien Assault team.
REBELLION REGAINS TAG TEAM BELTS Rebellion became the first five-time USWF tag team champions when they regained the belts from CPC Bounty at Pelf Palace on October 8. The CPC duo, which had won the belts from Blitz and Scar at the Centaurus Collision just one month earlier, made every effort to avoid a rematch. However, after several other contenders had been granted title shots, Commissioner Grogan scheduled the opportunity for Rebellion at Pelf Palace with USWF Head Referee Scourge as the official. The Aethran challengers dominated the match from the beginning. Blitz opened up on Vascor, who took a beating from both members of Rebellion before finally tagging in Tarloc. The CPC muscle man had no better luck, and although the champions tagged in and out several times, at no point did they mount a solid offense. When Tarloc went down to the “Aethran Triumph” at the nine minute mark, even the slow count of Scourge could not save the belts for the CPC. After the contest, Primary Colors manager Shadowmaster was irate. “This match never should have happened,” he protested. “First Grogan cheats Pathfinder out of the heavyweight belt, and now this. Our team should have all of the major gold, and instead we have nothing. I want to know when something is going to be done about this. Obviously the commissioner has forgotten who he’s dealing with.” Commissioner Grogan responded to the criticism calmly. “We have guidelines and rules to follow regarding title shots,” he said. “Rebellion was entitled to a rematch. I don’t know what Shadowmaster is expecting, but I’ll be happy to discuss this situation with Mr. Colby at any time.”
SUDDEN DEATH LEADERS REMAIN UNCHANGED The teams that lead in the USWF’s Sudden Death contests have not changed since our last update, but the margins by which they lead have expanded or shrunk in several cases. The Imperial Powers’ lead over the CPC’s Primary Colors remains consistent, as does the advantage held by the CPC’s Enforcement Division over the Incredible Badger’s Untamed Warriors. However, the Star Fighters, after having fallen behind by as much as twenty points, have rallied to cut the lead of the CPC’s Second Wave to just eight, and Alien Assault has narrowed the advantage of Charon and Scorpio to just one point. In contrast, the Agents of Fortune have expanded their lead over the Cathedral of Calamity to a commanding eighteen points. In the final Sudden Death contest, Kobe Extreme has all but finished off Holocaust and Armageddon.
GWWF REPORT
FEMININE FURY KNOCKS OFF ENCHANTRESSES FOR BELTS After several years of working together as a tag team, Feminine Fury finally captured championship gold by defeating the Enchantresses on September 8 at the Regulus Civic Stadium.
The Enchantresses, whose only real success in 2108 came in their Queen’s Challenge win and in the subsequent title shot, put in another uninspired performance in the title match. The champions never managed to mount a real offensive threat, and when Supernova landed the “Speed of Light” on Cassandra at the six minute mark, Anaxis appeared to make no attempt to save her partner, allowing Feminine Fury to score the win and claim the belts. “This feels really great,” Ms. Liberty said after the victory. “Supernova has been a champion before, but this is a first time for me. After all of these years, and all of my problems with my marriage and everything, I feel like this is a real triumph for me. It proves that I don’t need Adam to be a winner.” Anaxis took the loss very calmly. “So we lost the tag belts,” she shrugged. “Who cares? I’m sick of tag team wrestling anyway. It’s Amazonia’s belt I want. I’ve been a singles champion before, and I will be again.” Cassandra was similarly unconcerned. “This has been a lousy year anyway,” she commented. “I’m not even sure of how much longer I’ll be sticking around. I’m thinking about making some career changes, and whatever they are, they don’t involve Anaxis as my tag team partner.”

GWF 2108 HighlightsFrom WPU 11.7DEATH IN THE RING GWF GRIEVES AFTER DREADNAUGHT’S COLLAPSE The career and the life of former Heavyweight Champion Dreadnaught came to an end on November 14 at the Umbriel Skydome when the long-time GWF superstar collapsed and died during a match against Vyper. The contest was a Zero Gravity Platform Match, as Dreadnaught had recently found some success in chasing the special matches title. Vyper controlled most of the battle, but Dreadnaught fought well until the six minute mark, when Vyper connected with a flying clothesline. The alien star from Cygnus lost consciousness in the ring, and the emergency efforts of on-hand medical personnel could not revive him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The remainder of the card at the Skydome was cancelled, as was another GWF event the same night at the Hyperion Craterdome. In addition, numerous GWF wrestlers and managers announced their intention of taking some time off to deal with Dreadnaught’s death. “We didn’t see eye-to-eye very often,” stated Commander Sam, one of Dreadnaught’s first and most bitter enemies in the federation, “but I hate to see it end this way. He was a warrior, and he didn’t deserve to have people remember him like this. But I suppose it’s the only way he could go out. He wanted to die fighting, and he did.” Dreadnaught had suffered a collapse in the ring in late 2107 during a match against the Creeper, a contest that also proved to be the last for the Creeper as both competitors were carried from the ring after losing consciousness. However, despite the advice of GWF medical staff, Dreadnaught refused to stop wrestling. “We tried to get him to quit,” stated Commissioner Omega. “He wouldn’t listen to anyone. I guess wrestling was just too much in his blood. This is a tragedy, but I hope that everyone will remember him as the great fighting machine he once was and not as the shell of himself that he became.” Doomsayer, Dreadnaught’s long-time manager, had little comment, despite the common conclusion that Doomsayer’s transrevolver was primarily responsible for Dreadnaught’s poor physical condition. “He made his own choices,” Doomsayer stated. “Of course, no one is happy to see it end like this. But I never forced him into the transrevolver. The decision was his, and I take no responsibility.” Interestingly, one of the GWF stars who seemed hardest hit by Dreadnaught’s death was Vyper, his opponent at the time of the collapse. The former Masked Assassin disappeared from the arena after the match and has not been seen in the GWF since. GWF STARS PONDER FUTURE AFTER END OF CPC THREATWith the 2108 War Games over and Commissioners Omega and Morpheus having declared victory over Magnus Colby, many GWF wrestlers are openly considering their options in the wake of the GWF/CPC wars. The GWF commissioners’ office has announced that all GWF contracts will be voided at the end of 2108. From that point forward, any wrestler found to be receiving payment of any kind from Magnus Colby will be banned from the federation for life. Because Colby still maintains a heavy influence in the USWF, one consequence of this proclamation by the commissioners’ office is that wrestlers will be forced to choose between the two federations. For his part, Colby has conceded his loss to the GWF. Immediately after the War Games, the CPC CEO announced that the Colby/Pelf Corporation in the GWF was immediately disbanding. Colby stated that he would honor his contracts with wrestlers and managers until the end of 2108, but that he was personally leaving the federation and would have no ties to the GWF. Two members of the CPC’s Hired Guns team, which was managed by Reynard B. Guile, left the GWF immediately after the end of the War Games. Halcón Oro fought just one post-War Games match before departing for the USWF. Vector One, the CPC’s mercenary from Dimension X, simply disappeared from the GWF after the end of the Games. Other wrestlers decided to take more time to consider their options. The Matador of M83 and Enigma both left the Rocket Men to compete as independent wrestlers in the GWF. Meanwhile, Lycosa was fired by the Hired Guns, leaving Reynard B. Guile with only Disorder X under his influence. Lycosa chose to remain in the GWF as an independent. MANDRILL’S YEAR ENDS WITH BROKEN LEGOne of the top stars in the GWF will be out of action for the remainder of 2108 as Mandrill the Prime Colonizer suffered a broken leg in a brawl after a match with Max Shield at the Lava Ruins on October 21. Shield won the match, his first victory over his arch-enemy this year. Mandrill attacked Shield after the bell, and their battle was soon joined by Nefarus, Vendetta, Wraith, Vertigo, Sentry, and the Ninja Assassins. However, while the Colonizers had the advantage in terms of numbers, Mandrill was knocked down and caught his leg under the body of Vendetta while falling, snapping the bone below his left knee. Physicians immediately began working on the fallen Colonizer, and they soon announced that he would be expected to heal completely. “It’s a very clean break,” said one of the doctors. “I see no reason for any complications or problems. He should be able to come back as strong as ever. But don’t expect to see him in the ring again until next year, probably around February or March.” Commissioners Omega and Morpheus suspended the Genesis team members involved in the brawl for two weeks. “With an injury this serious, we have to take some action,” Morpheus said. “But Mandrill is really the one who started the problem. We’re not going to go overboard in punishing Shield and his allies for defending themselves.” Nefarus saw the situation differently. “Look how long the Mad Jester and Desolation Factor were suspended for injuring Buck Steele,” he protested. “The commissioners are playing favorites. But it’s alright. We’ll make sure Shield pays for this. You can count on that.” BRUTAL FEUDS ESCALATE AS YEAR WINDS DOWNAs 2108 draws to a close, some of the most violent feuds in the GWF appear to be growing in intensity and promise to carry over into 2109. The battles between Mayhem and Splatter began years ago but have become more frequent since Splatter attacked Mayhem’s manager Doomsayer this summer. The two engaged in a bloody Shandor Street Fight at War Dome Warfare. Most recently Splatter took the feud to a new level when he attacked Mayhem during a Street Fight match between the Aethran wildman and Anarchy, blasting Mayhem with Arsenal and allowing Anarchy to get the win. Mayhem has sworn to continue the bloodletting and make Splatter pay for the attack. In another familiar feud, Krakan has renewed his war with his old enemies the Aethrans. Vengeance appeared to have Wraith beaten for the interplanetary title on October 17 at the Antares Firedome when Mike Fortune and Greg Valentine, obviously acting on Krakan’s orders, attacked the Gladiator leader and caused a disqualification. “I thought Krakan would have had enough last time,” Vengeance spat after the incident. “He can’t possibly think those clowns can stand up to us. All he really has is Dark justice, and I can tear him apart myself. The last time we did this, Krakan ended up in a neck brace for a year or so. If he wants to do it again, we’ll make it a wheelchair this time.” SPLATTER FINALLY CLAIMS MAJOR BELTFor the first time in his twenty-year GWF career, Splatter won a major singles title when he defeated Wraith for the interplanetary championship at the Alpha Centauri Colonnade on October 25. Although the lunatic had been hot in recent weeks since returning from an injury, Wraith controlled most of the match, pounding Splatter down and bloodying the masked man. However, just when the champion appeared to have the contest in hand, Splatter landed with a “Blood Bash” and quickly rolled him up for the pin. Wraith’s first reign as interplanetary champion lasted for eight defenses and slightly less than two months. Splatter’s only previous experience as a champion came with the now defunct heavy metal belt. DARK JUSTICE BLASTS WOLF FOR SPECIAL MATCHES TITLEOn October 25, the same night that Splatter claimed the interplanetary belt, Dark Justice pulled another upset by defeating Wolf for the special matches title at the Rigel Nova Palladium. The championship contest was a Four Weapons of Destruction Match, and it was as wild as one could expect from the two hardcore stars. Both men were badly beaten and bloody, and both had opportunities to win the match. However, it was Dark Justice who prevailed, racking up the win at the nine minute mark with a “Shock Probation.” Wolf’s impressive reign as special matches champion lasted for eight defenses over nearly eight months. The former champion was hospitalized after the match and was expected to miss at least three weeks of action. Dark Justice also missed over a week of action after the match. SONORA PELF LINGERING IN GWF ARENASAfter Magnus Colby’s announcement that he was breaking all ties with the GWF, many observers were surprised to see his wife, Sonora Pelf, making frequent appearances at GWF cards throughout October and November. Ms. Pelf refused to speak to reporters, leaving everyone guessing as to her motives for attending the events. “I have no idea what Sonora Pelf is doing,” Commissioner Morpheus stated. “She has a right to come to the cards, of course. But as long as she is married to Colby, she has no official function here. I hope she doesn’t plan on causing more trouble, because we do have the law on our side now.” POLLUX RETURNS, THEN LEAVESGWF undercard wrestler Pollux, who had been competing in the USWF since mid-year, made a surprise return by attending several GWF cards in late October. Then, without wrestling a single match, the obviously unhappy fighter walked out of the federation again. “I never get any respect, here or in the USWF,” Pollux complained to reporters before disappearing. “No one wants to have me on a team. No one wants to give me a decent match. I could be a star, but I never get a break. Well, I’m tired of it. I’m going to take some time off. I don’t even know if I’ll come back, but if I do I’ll be ready to fight. This federation is not going to have Pollux to kick around anymore.” DISORDER X SHOCKS REBEL EMPIREDisorder X became the third newly formed tag team in 2108 to win the GWF tag team titles by defeating Rebel Empire at the Andromeda Nebula Pavilion on November 2. Grunge started the match and was beaten mercilessly by the Colonizer team. Nevertheless, the former member of the Rocket Men avoided the pin and managed to tag in his partner at the five minute mark. Mace quickly leveled Nefarus and set him up for the “Decimation.” The bloody Grunge made the cover, and Disorder X scored the win to claim the titles. The victory was a major triumph for Disorder X after a frustrating year of watching their former partners, Dreggs and Sleeze, rule the tag-team division. “We knew we were the best,” Grunge bragged after the card. “Twin Blood gets all the attention, but we always did carry them. Now me and Mace are on top, and anyone who thinks they can knock us off our mountain can just come and try.” Rebel Empire’s first GWF tag team title reign lasted for just over one month and included two successful defenses. DOOMSAYER REVEALS THE TRUTHOne of the GWF’s strangest mysteries was solved on November 6 when Doomsayer revealed the identity of the Mad Jester. The revelation occurred at the instigation of Commissioner Morpheus. After an injury that once again put the Defender of the Realm out of action, the commissioner announced his intention of suspending both the Defender and the Jester indefinitely. “On rare occasion, the GWF has allowed wrestlers to compete when even the commissioner’s office was not completely certain of their identities,” Morpheus explained. “However, this situation has gone beyond what we consider reasonable. This is not just a case of a masked or anonymous wrestler; it is a case of stolen personality. Either the Mad Jester or the Defender is a fraud, and the imposter is infringing upon the most fundamental individual rights of the man he is imitating. We have been trying to solve this mystery all year, but even DNA tests have proven inconclusive. Therefore, until we have an answer to this riddle, both the Defender and the Jester are suspended from ring action.” With the threat that his Jester would be forced out of action, Doomsayer asked for an interview on the November 6 card at the Titania Tower of Uranus. The Mad Jester appeared at the interview set with his manager, as did a reluctant and injured Defender of the Realm. “You know, nothing would make me happier than to see Morpheus kick you out of this federation forever,” Doomsayer said to the Defender. “You’re a nut case, and I can’t stand your attitude as the Defender. Unfortunately, if you’re gone, so is my Jester, and then he does me no good. So I guess it’s time for the truth to come out. “Think, back, Defender,” the scientist continued. “Remember about a year ago, when you were doing an interview, you said that one morning you had woken up and found that you had a bandage on your arm over a very strange looking injury that you could not remember suffering? You said it looked like your skin had been cut away, but you never knew what had happened. Well, let me explain it to you. During one of your blackouts when you turned into the Mad Jester, you allowed me to take a skin graft from you. I used that skin graft in an experiment, to see if I could reproduce a grown person—and I did!” Doomsayer began to smile evilly. “In other words, you are the real Defender, but the Jester is real, too. No one has stolen anyone’s identity. I created a perfect clone of you, but I did it with a skin sample that I took with your permission while you were in your Mad Jester phase. Therefore, my Jester doesn’t have the conflicts that you have. He’s pure Jester, and he’s all mine.” The Defender stood speechless on stage as Doomsayer and the Jester laughed. Then the evil scientist and his cloned fighter left the stage. Questions have been raised as to the legality of the experiment, as humanoid cloning is illegal in many parts of the galaxy. Doomsayer’s actions are under investigation, but, with the mystery solved, Commissioner Morpheus reinstated both the Defender and the Jester for future action. CODE ENFORCER BOUNCES LYCOSAAfter a year in which he has silenced his critics and won his first GWF Heavyweight Championship and first War Games ring, Code Enforcer Manslaughter cleaned up some unfinished business by driving Lycosa out of the federation. The small, high-flying masked man, who had been cruelly abusive of Manslaughter when both were members of the Masked Assassins, had remained in the shadows of the GWF since the identity of Manslaughter was revealed. However, with the War Games over, the Galaxian champion challenged his smaller enemy to a series of non-title matches. Although Lycosa managed to steal one victory in three tries, he was battered and bloody after each match. “I’m out of here,” Lycosa announced after a loss on November 10. “If I stay, that big idiot will kill me. He obviously has no sense of humor. I’m going to the USWF right now. I need a fresh start, and that muscle-head isn’t going to be satisfied until he breaks something. Good riddance to all of this.” TITAN CHALLENGE 2108The Titan Challenge was created in 2095 and is held annually at the Titan Sportatorium of Saturn. Although from 2101 to 2106 the Challenge served as the only GWF supercard to feature USWF wrestlers, its original format was as a showcase for special challenges after the end of the War Games, and the card returned to this purpose in 2107. The 2108 event was held on November 23. Titan Challenge 2108 HighlightsMike Fortune and Greg Valentine topped TitanAttack with Massif as the referee Archon beat Painmaster in a Cygnus Adamantium Fists Match The Awesome Studs downed Cygnus Strikeforce with Bounty Hunter as the referee Jack of Diamonds nailed the Mad Jester with a “Black Diamond” in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Blazing Skull burned Blade with a horrific “Death by Fire” in a Street Fight Predator pounded the Draconian Sheik in a Cosmic Cage Match Interplanetary Tag Team Champions the Ninja Assassins defeated Millennium Skinhead pinned Prodigy with a “Bad Attitude” to retain the cruiserweight title Enigma stopped Rising Sun with a “Feet of Fury” in a no disqualification match Anarchy downed Dark Justice in a Turnbuckle Shock Match to win the special matches title Pegasus dominated Janus in a Scorpi King of the Ring Match Alpha Power got a DQ win over Desolation Factor when Rack attacked Special Referee Massif Max Shield outlasted Wraith in a tough Four Weapons of Destruction Match Twin Blood got by Rebel Empire when Nefarus went down to the “Twice Bitten” Vengeance won by disqualification over Interplanetary Champion Splatter Wrath outfought Mayhem in a brutal Torture Chamber Match Wolf made a dramatic comeback to defeat Terminus in a Barbed Wire Cage Match Thunder and Overkill beat GWF Tag Team Champions Disorder X by disqualification Spike and Malice triumphed over the Code Enforcers in a Titan Hardcore Match when Malice pinned Code Enforcer II. After the final bell, Malice and Spike unmasked the smaller Code Enforcer. Titan Challenge Wrap-upThis year’s Titan Challenge provided only one title change but included plenty of excitement. Anarchy was the lone new champion with his win over Dark Justice for the special matches belt. The most frightening moment of the card came in the Shandor Street Fight when Blazing Skull used a devastatingly powerful “Death by Fire” on Blade. The explosion was the most violent blast Blazing Skull has released since the death of Blade’s brother Crossfire. Blade’s mother, Lorelei, was frantic as she suffered the obvious flashbacks to her older son’s death, and Archon attacked and began a brawl with Blazing Skull as Blade still lay unconscious on the floor. The young Centaurian did eventually regain his senses, but he was helped from the arena and is expected to miss the remainder of 2108 with his injuries. Commissioners Omega and Morpheus suspended Blazing Skull for the incident. One of the most dramatic moments of the night came at the end of the card in the main event. Malice landed his “Fields of Malice” finisher to win the match, and after the bell both Malice and Spike attacked Galaxian Champion Manslaughter. Once they had incapacitated the champion , the Aethran duo turned their attention back to the smaller Code Enforcer and, despite his struggles, managed to remove his mask. Jack of Diamonds, Kati, and Archon soon arrived to drive the Gladiators away. However, the incident did nothing more to identify the second Code Enforcer than to prove that he is not an established GWF star. No one in the federation could identify the young man whose face was revealed. Commander Sam, the manager of the Code Enforcers, has promised a statement soon. The tag team championship match between Disorder X and the Gladiators was a terrific battle. Due to the disqualification loss by the champions, the commissioner’s office has promised a rematch within two weeks. USWF REPORTCOLBY TAKES CONTROLJust as he conceded his defeat in the GWF, Magnus Colby declared victory in the USWF, announcing on October 10 that he had purchased the final two percent of stock he had needed to become the majority shareholder in the younger federation. “I am happy to state that I have achieved my goal here in the USWF,” Colby began at his press conference. “As most of you know, for over two years I have owned just under fifty percent of the USWF. I recently managed to purchase two percent more, giving me a total of fifty-one percent of the stock in this federation. As such, I am assuming control of the USWF executive board. Although the other stockholders will continue to sit in on or to send representatives to executive board meetings, my decisions in this federation cannot now be overruled by anyone.” Asked what his plans were for the federation, Colby smiled. “I’m going to take a long look at a lot of things,” he said. “We may bring in some new talent, and we may let some people go. I’ve also had some complaints on the performance of Commissioner Grogan that I will need to investigate. But overall, all I can say right now is that our plan is to keep expanding and to prove that we have a better all-around product than the GWF.” DOUBLE TITLE CHANGE AT ANDROMEDA NEBTwo USWF championships changed hands on a major card at the Andromeda Nebula Pavilion on October 12. The first title match involved cruiserweight champion Witherspoon and visiting GWF star Rising Sun. The high-flyer from Titan dominated the match, blasting Witherspoon over and over again with aerial attacks. The slow counts of special referee Scourge saved the champion several times, but when Rising Sun hit a “Titan Drop” at the seven minute mark, Scourge reluctantly counted the pin and gave made the Titan star the new champion. Rising Sun’s two-month exile from the GWF, which was a result of his loss to Wraith at Starclash in August, ended three days after his victory. However, in order to gain the title match, Rising Sun signed an agreement stating that if he became champion, he would remain in the USWF until he lost the belt or until the end of 2108. Later the same night, Lycanthrope dominated Silverfang in a Torture Chamber Match to claim the hardcore title. Silverfang was never really in the contest as the son of Wolf took just over eight minutes to beat him into submission. Silverfang became the second consecutive hardcore champion to hold the belt for less than a month. He defended the title successfully just once before losing it. “This is not going well,” CPC leader Marikel stated after the card. “We just lost two more belts tonight. In fact, all we have left now are the interstellar and heavy metal titles. I hope that now that Mr. Colby has taken over, he can make the commissioner give us the title shots we need to get the belts back.” EXO-KING BECOMES CPC TARGETExo-King, the former GWF star who returned to action in the USWF earlier this year, has become a major stumbling block in the plans of the Colby/Pelf Corporation, and CPC leaders are looking for ways to end his interference. The most recent incident involving Exo-King took place in a singles match between Scorpio and CPC member Salitar Palgin. Scorpio appeared to have won the match and increased his team’s lead over Alien Assault in Sudden Death when Palgin’s manager Pormak Landiron interfered. Palgin took over, but suddenly the King appeared at ringside, knocking out Landiron and helping Scorpio regain the advantage and claim the win. When CPC leader Marikel complained about Exo-King’s interference, the big man shot back with a surprising revelation. “Tonight was nothing,” the King said. “So I helped Scorpio out. He’s a good kid, and I didn’t want to see him get robbed. But the CPC has better reasons to hate me. They never did figure who took out Scourge at the last supercard so that he couldn’t referee when Marlicus beat Pathfinder for the heavyweight title, did they? Well, who do you think knocked out Scourge? I did it, and I’m proud. Someone has to stand up to these thugs. I may not be able to wrestle like I used to, but I can still do some damage. Ask Scourge.” After hearing the King’s statements, new USWF majority owner Magnus Colby reacted calmly but with some anger. “Exo-King seems to like getting involved in things that don’t concern him.” Colby said. “I think we’ll have to take care of that. He can’t keep sticking his nose in our business. Before the end of this year, we’ll make sure he realizes that and put an end to his meddling once and for all.” TOLTECAS WALKS OUTFormer USWF Cruiserweight Champion Toltecas left the federation after a loss to Casshan at the Venus Space Station on October 23. “This year has been a waste,” the acrobatic young wrestler stated as he left the Space Station. “I haven’t been able to get a really good streak going yet, and every time I start to pull out of it Colby’s biased referees stop me. I’m throwing in the towel. Maybe I’ll be back, and maybe I won’t. I’ve got a lot to think about.” Asked about his Star Fighters teammates’ status in Sudden Death, Toltecas just shrugged. “We’re losing right now,” he said. “If they decide to exile me because I left early, that’s fine. At the moment, I don’t care. I’m going to go back to Earth and try to forget that this year ever happened. I wish my teammates luck, but they’re on their own now.” STEEL REGAINS HEAVY METAL BELTFather Steel became the USWF’s first four-time heavy metal champion when he defeated Mantric for the title at the Charon Ice Castle on November 12. Mantric controlled the action for most of the match, repeatedly applying his finishing moves to his huge challenger and beating the big man down for over eight minutes. However, the champion was unable to put his opponent away, and finally Steel came back and caught Mantric in the “Last Rites.” The Estorian star struggled, but he was unable to break the crushing hold and was forced to surrender just before the nine minute mark. Mantric’s impressive title reign lasted for over five months and eight strong defenses. He had defeated Steel for the title on June 3 of this year. SNEAK ATTACK GIVES TAG BELTS TO CPC BOUNTYCPC Bounty claimed the USWF tag team titles for the second time in 2108 by defeating Rebellion in controversial fashion at the Cube on November 16. Blitz and Vascor began the match, but the contest had barely started when Tarloc managed to draw Blitz’s attention from the ring apron. Vascor immediately leveled his opponent with a shot to the back of the head, apparently using some type of foreign object. The Aethran powerhouse went down face first, and Vascor quickly rolled him over and covered him. USWF head referee Scourge made the count without questioning Vascor’s use of the illegal object, and Blitz’s partner Scar had no chance to react before the match was suddenly over and Vascor and Tarloc were the new champions. After the bell, CPC Bounty continued its attack on the Aethran team. Blitz suffered a concussion that was expected to keep him out of action for at least two weeks. ARMAGEDDON FIRST TO SURRENDER IN SUDDEN DEATHThe first USWF Sudden Death 2108 contest has ended early, as Armageddon has conceded defeat to Kobe Extreme and left the federation. “We’re better than we showed this year, but at this point it’s hopeless,” Carnage stated as his team prepared for its departure. “We’re too far out of it to catch up. We thank Holocaust for coming in and trying to help us, but we’ve had enough. From the beginning, the deal was that if we lost, we would accept the exile. Holocaust is off the hook, and we’re out of here.” In other Sudden Death matchups, the CPC’s Primary Colors have made little progress in trying to catch the Imperial Powers, who still lead by eight points. The CPC’s Second Wave has all but declared victory over the Star Fighters, having built a lead of over twenty points, while the Cathedral of Calamity has cut into the big lead once enjoyed by the Agents of Fortune. The biggest comeback of Sudden Death belongs to the Untamed Warriors, who have come from twenty points back to lead the CPC Enforcement Division by nine points. Finally, Charon and Scorpio remain virtually deadlocked with the big alien team of Salitar Palgin and Caldiron Torsir. Exo-King has begun to appear at ringside with Charon and Scorpio to assist them in their battle. Sudden Death will continue throughout 2108, with at least one member of each losing team to be banished from the federation for two years. GWWF REPORTCPC FORCES PART WAYS IN GWWFThe remaining CPC representatives in the GWWF suffered a decisive breakup in a backstage scuffle at the GWF’s Titan Challenge on November 23. After a year in which none of them had enjoyed much success, Cassandra, Anaxis, and Velar were at a breaking point. The final explosion occurred after Velar apparently attempted to convince her teammates to join her in an attack on Supernova and Ms. Liberty during the Challenge. When Cassandra and Anaxis refused, a shouting match ensued, during which the Enchantresses also turned on each other. The angry words soon turned to blows, and the threesome had to be separated by security. “Well, I guess this does it,” Cassandra stated after the clash with her partners. “We knew it was coming. We haven’t really been together all year anyway. Now it’s all over, and I’m glad. I don’t need either of them. I’ll be just fine on my own.” Anaxis expressed sentiments similar to those of her former tag-team partner, while Velar openly speculated that she might be better off joining the USWF women’s division.

Great fun reading through this, the sheer amount of work put into it is stunning. Thanks, Mawson. I appreciate the comment. It is a lot of work, but this is also my fed history that took place over at least ten real-life years, so it is a lot of work but over a long period of time.

GWF 2108 Highlights
From WPU 11.8
GALACTICADE XIII The Galacticade celebration has concluded each GWF year since 2096, when it was first organized by Commander Sam. The event is held in Los Angeles, California on the planet Earth and features the year-end awards banquet as well as the final supercard of the year.
GWF action normally slows after the conclusion of the War Games. However, with this year’s Games ending earlier than in any previous campaign, along with the death of Dreadnaught and the end of the threat to the GWF by the Colby/Pelf Corporation, the final months of 2018 took on an uncertain and unusually intense tone. These circumstances helped contribute to numerous significant events leading up to Galacticade.
COMMANDER SAM REVEALS NAME OF CODE ENFORCER Shortly after the unmasking of the smaller Code Enforcer by Malice and Spike at the Titan Challenge in November, Commander Sam issued a statement regarding the identity of his talented young newcomer. “Just to stop everyone’s questions, the Code Enforcer’s name is Euritar,” Sam announced. “For the moment, it’s not important where he’s from or where I found him. He and Manslaughter came here to help us fight the CPC, and they’ve done a great job. We’ve beaten Colby, so keeping Euritar’s name a secret no longer serves a purpose anyway. But we still have a score to settle with the Aethrans for unmasking him. We were going to reveal his identity soon in any case, but we don’t like having them force our hand. The Aethrans will be major targets for the FDF in 2109.” The smaller Code Enforcer also had a few comments of his own. “I’m glad I can finally speak out a little,” he stated. “I’ve had a lot of things to say all year, but Sam wanted me to keep quiet. Well, now the mystery is over. I’m not gonna talk about where I’m from or say anything about my past right now. What matters is that I have some scores to settle. Spike and Malice are gonna pay for taking off my mask, and I also still have business left with Blazing Skull. In the meantime, I plan to take back the cruiserweight title. I think I’ve already proven what I can do. Now it’s time to turn things up and go for the gold.”
DOOMSAYER, MONAD LEAVE THE FEDERATION As he had hinted in an interview in the last issue of Warrior Promotions Update, Doomsayer announced that he was taking a leave of absence for the remainder of 2108 immediately after the Titan Challenge. “I have some business to take care of,” the evil genius announced. “Monad will be going with me. The Mad Jester, Desolation Factor, and Mayhem can stay here and fight for the rest of the year. Monad and I will be back in 2109, and we’ll bring some major surprises with us. Get ready, because the next time you see me my team will be the strongest force in the GWF.”
NEFARUS SECOND COLONIZER TO END YEAR EARLY The Colonizers of Scorpi lost another wrestler for the remainder of 2108 when Nefarus joined Mandrill on the injured list on November 27 at Fire Island. The injury took place after a singles match between Nefarus and Daemon. Nefarus won the contest, but after the bell a brawl broke out as the combatants were joined by Vendetta, Sentry, Vertigo, and Hydrax. Nefarus suffered ligament damage in his knee that may keep him out of action until February of 2109. Commissioners Morpheus and Omega suspended Vertigo and the Ninja Assassins for two weeks.
GLADIATORS RECLAIM TAG TEAM BELTS Thunder and Overkill are once again GWF tag team champions after defeating Disorder X for the titles at the Charon Ice Castle on December 7. The Gladiators had previously won by disqualification over Disorder X and therefore expected the contest to be fought under Titan Death Rules. However, they were surprised to learn that instead the bout would be refereed by Bounty Hunter, the GWF’s head official who was for years managed by Disorder X’s manager Reynard B. Guile. Thunder and Overkill protested the decision, but in the end they agreed to the contest with the special referee. The actual match was less competitive than the pre-match debate. Grunge started for the champions and was hammered for over five minutes before he managed to tag in his partner. Mace did no better, never mounting a serious offense and going down to the “Decapitator” at the eight minute mark to give the Gladiators the belts. Although Thunder and Overkill have endured a sub-par year in 2108, they claimed the tag titles for the ninth time in their careers. The Aethran duo has ended each of the last four years in possession of the belts.
SHIELD ENDS SPLATTER’S TITLE RUN The unlikely reign of Splatter as interplanetary champion ended on December 7 at the Luna Auditorium as Max Shield claimed the belt for the sixth time in his career. Because Shield had previously beaten Splatter by disqualification twice, the title match was fought under Titan Hardcore Rules. This stipulation seemed to favor the champion, but Shield was dominant throughout the contest. The superstar from Omicron fought through interference by the Draconian Sheik and, unexpectedly, by Mayhem and Krakan before finally pinning the champion with a power bomb. Shield, also a three-time former Galaxian champion, became the interplanetary titleholder for the first time since July of 2107, ending Splatter’s run with the belt after four defenses. However, the match was intriguing less for its outcome than for the interference of Mayhem and Krakan. “No one ever knows what Krakan is doing,” stated GWF broadcaster Iron Mane, “and Mayhem is supposed to be working for Doomsayer, so they aren’t even associated as far as anyone knows. And both of them have hated Splatter for years. But it sure looked like they were trying to help him tonight. I don’t understand what was going on, but if somehow Krakan, Mayhem and Splatter end up teaming up, it could be ugly for everyone.”
GALACTICADE WEEKEND 2108 The GWF held its annual year-end awards banquet at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, Earth on December 22, 2108. In attendance were nearly all of the active wrestlers, managers and officials who work in the federation. In addition, numerous stars from the past years of the GWF were present, including the Incredible Badger, GWWF Commissioner Zachary Carter, Billy Jo Boxer, Iron Mane, Torin Caelum, “Trainer” Jim Powell, Brute, and others. Commissioner Morpheus spoke to begin the program. “I have the honor of giving the welcome here tonight,” he said. “Then I am going to step aside. Since Omega is resigning as co-commissioner for next year, we decided that he would conduct this event as his last official action. Therefore, I present to you tonight’s master of ceremonies, Commissioner Omega.” Omega stepped forward and shook hands with Morpheus. “Thank you, everyone,” he said. “This has been a year of incredible ups and downs, from our victory over the CPC to the burning of Blade and the death of Dreadnaught, as well as the disappearance of Vyper after Dreadnaught’s death. We also have the threats of UFSP President Cordanus hanging over our heads. No one knows what will happen next year, but I am confident that with Morpheus in control the GWF will continue to prosper.” “Now, without further delay, let’s get on to the awards,” Omega declared. He then presented the following achievement awards for 2108.
Wrestler of the Year: Code Enforcer Manslaughter At the beginning of the year, no one would have predicted that the big masked man who had won the top newcomer award in 2103 would make such an impact. But Manslaughter claimed the GWF heavyweight title in July and has now defended it successfully twenty-three times against the best competition in the galaxy. His overall record of 43-22 was the most wins in the federation, and he led the Federation Defense Fighters to their first ever War Games victory. Runners-up: 1. Mandrill (held the GWF title for the first half of the year and had a 34-21 record when an injury put him out of action); 2. Code Enforcer Euritar (a tremendous first year with a 35-13 record and held the cruiserweight title while helping the FDF to the War Games rings); 3. Wrath (the big half-Aethran held the interplanetary title for twenty-one dominating defenses).
Tag Team of the Year: Twin Blood This one was even easier to call than wrestler of the year. Dreggs and Sleeze won the Galaxy Cup tag team tournament and went on to set the GWF record for consecutive victories at sixteen and to win the GWF tag team belts before they had even suffered their first loss. They then lost and regained the tag titles later in the year, putting together a 47-14 overall record, the second highest victory total for a tag team in GWF history. Both members of Twin Blood had twice won the tag team of the year award previously with other teams. Runners-up: 1. Rebel Empire (in any other year they might have taken top honors, holding the GWF tag belts and twice winning the interplanetary tag titles with a 32-23 overall record); 2. The Ninja Assassins (began the year as interplanetary tag team champions and later regained the belts while compiling a 33-27 record); 3. Alpha Power (held the tag belts briefly and had a 33-21 record).
Top Newcomer: Code Enforcer Euritar Once again an easy call. Euritar had an incredible 35-13 record despite numerous injuries, held the cruiserweight belt, won a War Games ring, and carried on some of the wildest feuds in the GWF, especially with Blazing Skull. Runners-up: 1. Maelstrom (12-8 in singles competition and some good moments as a part of Cygnus Strikeforce); 2. Greg Valentine (a 13-16 record and solid all year in both singles and tag competition); 3. Mike Fortune (A shaky start, but ended with a 10-16 record in singles and, along with Valentine, earned a shot at the interplanetary tag titles at Galacticade).
“Before we finish, I have a few announcements to make regarding the state of the GWF,” Commissioner Omega said. “As you know, UFSP President Cordanus is attempting to ban wrestling throughout the galaxy. Although he has had little success in most of our major venues, some local governments have followed his lead. No one can know what to expect from him for next year, but we cannot ignore this threat. Cordanus really wants to shut us down, and we have to work together to stop him.” “On a more positive note,” Omega concluded, “we have been in contact with USWF Commissioner Grogan in the past few weeks. I do not know what has led to his change of heart, and I don’t know if we can trust it. However, he appears to want to develop a working relationship with the GWF again. Obviously this could be a problem because of Magnus Colby’s control of the USWF, but we will continue talking. Perhaps we can truly all work together yet.”
GALACTICADE XIII Earth’s Los Angeles Sports Arena was the host to the year-ending Galacticade supercard before a sellout crowd of over 80,000 spectators on December 23. On hand were numerous former GWF stars, including Brute, Incredible Badger, Billy Jo Boxer, Torin Caelum, GWWF Commissioner Zachary Carter, Raven, Exo-King, and Killer Queen. The main event for this year’s card was a Galaxian title match between Code Enforcer Manslaughter and the Matador of M83. Thunder and Overkill also agreed to defend the tag team titles against Disorder X. In addition, Vanity announced that Galacticade would be his final GWF match and, surprisingly, asked to fight his own partner, Dynamo, in his farewell, while Archon challenged Blazing Skull to a Total Anarchy Match in an attempt to get revenge for the recent burning of Blade by Blazing Skull.
GALACTICADE XIII: THE CARD Dynamo made Vanity submit to the “Muscle Ripper” Cygnus Strikeforce downed TitanAttack with Bounty Hunter as the referee Blizzard overcame Death’s Head with a “Frostbite” in a Turnbuckle Shock Match Jack of Diamonds outlasted Painmaster in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match Code Enforcer Euritar nailed Splatter with a “Heads Will Roll” in a Titan Hardcore Match The Mad Jester dropped Defender of the Realm with a “Dead Man’s Verse” in a Flamsteed Street Fight Wraith topped Buck Steele in a Cosmic Cage Match The Ninja Assassins retained the interplanetary tag team titles against Greg Valentine and Mike Fortune Skinhead put down Enigma with a “Skinhead Sleeper” to retain the cruiserweight title Predator blasted Spike to win a Tirion Triple Threat Match that also involved Mayhem Wolf dominated Terminus in a Torture Chamber Match Dark Justice slammed the Draconian Sheik in a Titan Hardcore Match Prodigy tripped up Rising Sun with a “Perfect Singles Finisher” in a Lepus Stun Rod Match A Total Anarchy Match between Archon and Blazing Skull was declared no contest when Vyper interfered to prevent a massive “Death by Fire” being delivered on Archon Desolation Factor upset Twin Blood when Dreggs went down to the “Racked and Ruined” Vengeance won by disqualification over Interplanetary Champion Max Shield when Vyper interfered Malice blasted Wrath with a “Fields of Malice” in a Castor Chain Match Millennium and Janus defeated Alpha Power and Lance At-Las in a three-man elimination match Pegasus came back to triumph over Paragon in a tough Scorpi King of the Ring Match Thunder and Overkill retained the GWF tag team titles over Disorder X The Matador of M83 won the Galaxian Heavyweight Championship by defeating Code Enforcer Manslaughter with a combination of a “Bullwhip” and a dropkick.
Galacticade XIII Wrap-Up The impressive reign of Galaxian Champion Manslaughter finally came to an end as the Matador of M83 claimed the title for the seventh time in his great career. The contest was evenly fought for several minutes, but Manslaughter never managed to get the challenger in trouble. The Matador took control on the floor and landed a “Bullwhip,” but Manslaughter kicked out. The Matador then followed up with a dropkick that again knocked the champion down, and this time Manslaughter could not escape the pin. One of the strangest aspects of this card was the reappearance of Vyper, the former Masked Assassin and Savage Kingdom star who had not been seen in the GWF since Dreadnaught collapsed and died in the ring while fighting Vyper over a month earlier. Moreover, for two years Vyper has been a partner of Splatter, participating fully in random attacks seemingly designed for no other purpose than to commit mayhem and injure unsuspecting wrestlers. On this occasion, however, when Blazing Skull had just exploded with a huge “Death by Fire” on Archon and seemed to be preparing for an even more violent burning of his dazed opponent, Vyper came out of the crowd and prevented further injury to Archon by attacking Blazing Skull. Vyper and Skull battled all the way out of the arena, forcing the referee to declare the match between Archon and Skull no contest. Thanks to Vyper, Archon was not seriously injured. But Vyper was not finished. Fifteen minutes later, Vengeance appeared to have Interplanetary Champ Max Shield beaten and half-blinded with the “Eye Cleaver” when Vyper again intervened, causing a disqualification but perhaps saving Shield’s eyesight. This time Vyper was chased away by the rest of the Gladiators, and he disappeared from the arena before he could be questioned regarding his strange actions. “That was a mistake,” hissed Blazing Skull after the card. “Archon was mine. Vyper had no need to get involved. I don’t know where he ran to, but he’d better keep running. Next time I see him, I have a fire ball waiting to show him what happens when you stick your nose in my business.” Terak, Vyper’s former manager, was as confused as anyone. “No, I haven’t talked to him,” the Savage Kingdom leader stated. “Last I knew, he and Splatter were blindsiding people. I never expected to see him come out to help anyone, especially guys like Archon and Max. I guess he’ll explain when he’s ready.” Then Terak continued. “I do have some information for everyone, though,” he said. “I want to announce that Wildcat, Karah, Gila, and myself will all be going to the USWF next year. We feel like we’re not developing as we should here, and we need a new start. We believe the USWF is a new frontier that will give our young wrestlers a chance to find themselves. We thank all of the fans and everyone who has supported us over the years.”
USWF REPORT
WILD BRAWLS PUT MAJOR PLAYERS ON SHELF Several of the USWF’s top performers, including both Interstellar Champion Maccavity and the Tag Team Champions CPC Bounty, were knocked out of action for the remainder of 2108 and beyond in a pair of wild brawls on recent cards. On November 29 at the Andromeda Nebula Pavilion, Maccavity was defeated in a non-title match by Daniel Streamline. Enraged at the defeat, the interstellar champion attacked his opponent. Teammates of both wrestlers soon joined the melee, including the Unknown Soldier, Jason the Canadian Bomber, Casshan, Conrad Chase, and Shawn Styles. Maccavity suffered two cracked ribs and a broken elbow when he was thrown from the ring, putting him out of action until at least January of 2109. Commissioner Grogan suspended Streamline, Unknown Soldier, and the Canadian Bomber for the incident. All three members of the Star Fighters announced that they would finish the year in the GWF, effectively conceding their Sudden Death contest to the CPC’s Second Wave. The Star Fighters were trailing by over twenty points in Sudden Death when the incident occurred. Just over one week later, on December 7 at the Triton Pavilion, a second incident also ended the year for Tag Team Champions CPC Bounty. Tarloc and Vascor lost a non-title match to the Star Patrol, after which the duo knocked out Space Ranger and attacked the Galactic Trooper. The champions’ manager Shadowmaster continued to pound the Ranger in order to keep him out of the fray while Tarloc and Vascor hammered the Trooper. Finally Captain Dalcost arrived in the ring and drove the assailants away, but the Trooper, who had just returned from an injury layoff of over four weeks, suffered a horrible multiple break to his right leg that may keep him out of action for as long as five months. After the card, USWF Commissioner Grogan issued the following statement: “The attack on the Galactic Trooper tonight by CPC Bounty and Shadowmaster was inexcusable. Brawls and injuries happen in wrestling, but to intentionally break a man’s leg so severely that he could miss half of a year is just going too far. I am therefore suspending CPC Bounty and their manager for the remainder of 2108. None of them will be allowed to appear at any USWF function, including the year-ending Center Stage Spectacular. In addition, with the champions suspended, I will review the status of the tag team championship titles and make an announcement regarding the belts at a later date.” Predictably, CPC leader Marikel was outraged, especially because his Primary Colors team was trailing the Imperial Powers in Sudden Death when the incident occurred. “How can Grogan do this to us?” Marikel snapped. “This suspension is far too severe. Without the tag champions, we’ll have fewer chances to pick up points in Sudden Death. And suspending Shadowmaster will affect me and Pathfinder, too. This time Grogan has gone too far. All year he’s been making bad decisions, but this time Mr. Colby really needs to step in before the commissioner takes away our last chance at winning Sudden Death.”
BIG SURPRISE FOR HOLOCAUST As if former GWF champion Holocaust had not struggled enough this year in the USWF, an old enemy arrived to make his life more difficult at the Triton Pavilion on December 7. Holocaust was involved in a match against the Barbaric Destroyer when he was unexpectedly attacked from behind by Vector One, the mercenary from Dimension X who had disappeared from the GWF at the end of the War Games two months earlier. The Destroyer left the ring as Holocaust and Vector One continued to brawl. The referee declared the match no contest. “Well, I guess this settles things,” Holocaust announced. “I had been debating whether to stay here or go back to Dimension X, but if this psycho is here, then I’ll stay and fight him. Everybody had better be ready. Me and Vector One have met before, and this time it will be a battle to the finish.”
A CHALLENGE FROM EXO-KING Since he arrived in the USWF in mid-2108, Exo-King has dedicated himself to thwarting the plans of Magnus Colby’s CPC forces. As a result, Colby and his main henchman Marikel Magnifique have sent a parade of hitmen against the former GWF star, declaring him a major CPC target in October. Finally, on December 11 at Fire Island, the King issued a response. Exo-King, who had been out of action due to an injury inflicted on him by the CPC, made his appearance at the interview area in mid-card. “I have a few things to say,” the huge wrestler stated. “So Colby and Marikel say I’m a target and they want to take me out? Well, it ain’t worked so far. But I’m a little sick of being the one on the defensive, so I’m gonna give them their chance. I have an offer for any CPC tag team with enough guts to take it. So how about it? Any takers, or is everyone in the CPC a coward?” After a moment’s pause, Shawn Styles and Conrad Chase emerged from the dressing room area. As they approached, the King called for them to stop. “That’s far enough,” Exo-King ordered. “I’m not here to fight you today. We’ll do it at the Center Stage Spectacular supercard next week in a tag match. I’ll have a partner by then. If you two can beat us, I’ll leave the USWF—for good. If we win, then you two join the Sudden Death exiles for the next two years. Got it? Is it on?” Before Chase and Styles could answer, CPC leader Marikel Magnifique emerged from the dressing room. “And what’s your plan, you big goon?” he asked. “Who’s your partner? Are you planning on bringing in your son from the GWF? No way! We can take you out in our own time. We don’t need to accept your stupid challenge.” “The way you’re going in Sudden Death, you may not have much time, you loser,” the King responded. “But I’m not talking about Jack of Diamonds. My partner will be someone who is already under contract to the USWF. Or are your men too gutless to accept a challenge from an old man like me?” Shawn Styles grabbed the microphone away from Marikel. “We accept,” he snapped. “And we don’t care who your partner is. Just show up at the supercard, and we’ll bury you and your buddy, whoever it is.”
SHOCKING EVENTS AT AWARDS BANQUET GROGAN, ASTRI DROP BOMBSHELLS The USWF held its tenth annual awards banquet on December 18, 2108 at the Callisto Civic Auditorium of Jupiter. All of the USWF’s active wrestlers and managers attended, including some who were injured or under suspension such as Maccavity, Shadowmaster, and CPC Bounty. Also present was USWF majority owner Magnus Colby, but Colby’s wife, Sonora Pelf, was inexplicably absent. USWF Commissioner Grogan served as master of ceremonies and opened the event with the following remarks. “Welcome to all of the USWF wrestlers, managers, staff, and officials. Welcome also to our guests tonight, including those in the press corps, and especially to our new chairman of the governing board and majority owner, Mr. Magnus Colby. I think we’re going to have a very exciting night tonight, and we should have a great supercard tomorrow. It’s been a terrific year, and I know we have some big announcements to make, so let’s start right in with our achievement awards.” Grogan then presented the following awards:
Wrestler of the Year: High Lord Marlicus. The High Lord is the current USWF Heavyweight Champion, having won the title for the seventh time in September. He also had the best record in the federation at 43-17. Marlicus also won this award in 2105 and 2106. Runners-up: 1. Maccavity (A tremendous year that has included a five month reign as interstellar champion, a belt he still holds, and an impressive 40-21 record before being injured in November); 2. Father Steel (Held the USWF heavyweight title for the first six months of the year and is the current heavy metal champion. A 39-25 overall record); 3. Mantric (Held both the USWF heavyweight belt and the heavy metal title, keeping the latter for five months).
Tag Team of the Year: Rebellion Blitz and Scar win this award for the second time, the first having come in 2102. They held the tag team titles twice in 2108 after ending Kobe Power’s year-long reign in May. The Aethran team had a 36-21 overall record. Runners-up: 1.) CPC Bounty (Missed winning the tag team of the year award by a very narrow margin. Held the titles twice and had a 36-21 record); 2.) Kobe Power (Last year’s top tag-team finished a distant third this year after a terrible second-half performance left them with a 35-28 record); 3.) The Star Patrol (The USWF’s winningest team ever won the Star Challenge and had a 29-17 record despite numerous injuries).
Top Newcomer: Reckless Abandon Held the new hardcore title and pulled off a number of major wins in compiling a 24-34 record.
After finishing with the awards, Commissioner Grogan continued to speak. “Our next item of business is to announce the winners of Sudden Death,” he said. “We have only tomorrow’s supercard left this year, and none of the contests are close enough to change now. Therefore, the following are our Sudden Death 2108 final results:
"Imperial Powers defeated CPC Primary Colors 89-79 CPC Second Wave defeated the Star Fighters 145-124 Agents of Fortune defeated Cathedral of Calamity 119-108 Untamed Warriors defeated CPC Enforcement Division 126-103 CPC Alien Assault defeated Charon and Scorpio 34-29 Kobe Extreme defeated Holocaust and Armageddon 51-14
"At least one member of each losing team will be banished from the USWF for two years. Most of the banishments will be announced in January, but one is already determined. We agreed at the beginning of the year that if the Primary Colors lost, Marikel Magnifique would be banished. Tomorrow will therefore be Marikel’s last appearance in the USWF until at least 2111.” “This can’t happen!” shouted Marikel from his seat in the audience. “Mr. Colby, please do something!”
“What do you want me to do?” Colby replied calmly. “You lost. That’s it. Oh, and by the way, you’re fired.” Grogan smiled as Marikel continued to squirm and grumble in his chair. “My next announcement involves the tag team champions, CPC Bounty,” the commissioner continued. “As you know, Tarloc and Vascor are currently under suspension for the horrible injury they inflicted on the Galactic Trooper. At this point, the doctors are uncertain that the Trooper will ever walk normally again. Therefore, in addition to suspending CPC Bounty for the first five cards of 2109, I am stripping them of the tag team titles. Their conduct has simply not been that of champions, and I will not tolerate it.” Now Magnus Colby rose from his chair and approached the stage. “Hold on a minute, Grogan,” he said. “That’s going too far. As majority owner, I’m going to have to overrule that decision and reinstate CPC Bounty.” To the amazement of the audience, Grogan did not back down. “I’m sorry sir,” he said calmly, “but you don’t have the power to overrule me.” “What are you talking about?” Colby snapped. “I own this federation, or at least fifty-one percent of it. I’m the chairman of the governing board. I can do anything I want.” Grogan shook his head. “Do you remember when I was hired, Mr. Colby?” he asked, his voice still level. “You wanted to be sure that the governing board could not vote me out of office before your takeover was complete, so to protect me you talked the board into giving me a ten year contract with absolute control over all decisions involving USWF contracts, planning, and events. You made me untouchable. And for eight more years, I am still untouchable. Legally, neither you nor anyone else can overrule me.” Colby’s face had turned bright red. “But that was when we were together! You were supposed to help me.” “I will help you, sir,” Grogan stated. “We’re going to turn this into the best wrestling federation in the galaxy. My first step in that direction is to suspend CPC Bounty. And my next announcement today involves USWF Head Referee Scourge. Scourge, you’re fired. You are immediately relieved of all duties in this federation.” Colby, now speechless, drifted back to his seat as if he were in a daze as Grogan continued. “I also want to announce that I have arranged for Massif to join us tomorrow and to replace Scourge as the referee for the USWF Heavyweight Championship Match between Marlicus and Pathfinder. And now, I believe that Tirrion Astri has an announcement.” Astri rose and walked to the podium. “I want to congratulate High Lord Marlicus for winning his third wrestler of the year award,” the manager began. “We have enjoyed great success in this federation, and this year we achieved our objective of defeating the CPC and getting Marikel banished. Now it’s over. Win or lose, tomorrow will be High Lord Marlicus’ final match in the USWF. If he wins, he retires as champion. The High Lord, myself, and Captain Dalcost will be returning to Kaldri. Because we have worked so well together this year, and to express our thanks, we have invited Space Ranger and the Galactic Trooper to join us as soon as the Trooper recovers from his injury.” The announcement stunned the entire room. If the Star Patrol accepted Astri’s offer, four of the top stars in the USWF would be gone at the beginning of 2109. Clearly, an era in wrestling was about to come to a close at the Center Stage Spectacular supercard.
CENTER STAGE SPECTACULAR VI The sixth annual Center Stage Spectacular, the USWF’s traditional year-ending event, took place on December 19, 2108. A sellout crowd of over 56,000 fans attended the supercard at Jupiter’s Callisto Centroplex. In addition, numerous guests from the GWF and the GWWF were present, including GWF Commissioners Omega and Morpheus, GWWF Commissioner Carter, Black Hawk, Lance At-Las, Jack of Diamonds, Wolf, Predator, Wrath, Rising Sun, Amazonia, Lord Nexus, Talon, Pegasus, Star Warrior, and Commander Sam. In the main event for this year’s card, High Lord Marlicus was set to meet Pathfinder for the USWF heavyweight title with Massif as the special referee. With Interstellar Champ Maccavity injured and CPC Bounty stripped of the tag belts, the only other titles on the line had Lycanthrope defending the hardcore belt against Stargazer in a Barbed Wire Cage Match and Skyfire putting up the cruiserweight belt against Halcón Oro. In addition, the special exile challenge pitting Shawn Styles and Conrad Chase against Exo-King and his mystery partner was declared a no DQ match, while Commissioner Grogan made Marikel’s final USWF contest a Torture Chamber Match against Captain Dalcost.
Center Stage Spectacular VI: The Card Lycosa stopped Casshan with a “Black Widow’s Bite” Witherspoon nailed Rock with the “Upper Crust” Blackout (Charon and Scorpio) defeated the Stormtroopers with Massif as the referee Guthlac dominated Hurricane in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match Silverfang used the “Silverfang Kill” on the floor to pin Reckless Abandon in a Street Fight The Monastic Rule upset Alien Assault in a no DQ match Skyfire retained the cruiserweight title by downing Halcón Oro with a “Heat Lightening” Vector One destroyed Holocaust in a Scorpi King of the Ring Match in their first USWF meeting Exo-King revealed his mystery partner to be Raven, and together they topped Shawn Styles and Conrad Chase when Raven pinned Styles with a “Broadsword” Gorthanor overcame Venom in a Total Anarchy Match when Venom stepped on a land mine Space Ranger drilled Crow with a “Liftoff” in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Captain Dalcost fought back to triumph over Marikel Magnifique in a terrific Torture Chamber Match Stargazer outlasted Lycanthrope in a Barbed Wire Cage Match to win the hardcore title Rebellion got an easy win over Kobe Power when Shouji Kanemura went down to the “Aethran Triumph” Homicide battered Bishop Hell in a Cygnus Adamantium Fists Match Father Steel outdueled Mantric in a tough Castor Chain Match With Massif as the special referee, Pathfinder of Ceres defeated High Lord Marlicus with a “Ceres Crunch” to win the USWF heavyweight title.
Center Stage Spectacular Wrap-Up This year’s Center Stage Spectacular featured many great and exciting moments, but three incidents in particular stood out: the return of Raven, the Torture Chamber match between Dalcost and Marikel, and the aftermath of the main event.
Raven has never looked better than he did in his first match since leaving the federation a year earlier. Exo-King had promised that his partner would be “already under contract to the USWF,” but the CPC forgot that Raven had simply taken a leave of absence. Chase and Styles were caught completely off guard, and as a result they will be forced to leave the USWF for at least two years.
After Marikel Magnifique had avoided highly physical matches and taken advantage of the biases of Scourge to frustrate Captain Dalcost all year, their Torture Chamber contest was one of the best battles in USWF history. The entire locker room emptied as all of the wrestlers emerged to watch the event, most of them cheering for Dalcost over the hated former CPC leader. But Marikel, despite his reputation for ducking opponents, put up a tremendous fight, and Dalcost had to battle back from near defeat to squeak out a narrow win in a brutal twelve minute contest.
However, as so often has happened at the end of the USWF year in the past, the most dramatic moment of the card came after the final bell. As Pathfinder’s hand was raised in victory over High Lord Marlicus, Black Hawk, the former USWF champion who had spent all of 2108 in the GWF, rose from his seat in the audience and climbed into the ring. Pathfinder braced for another fight, knowing that his team had scattered and that no help was likely to arrive, but Black Hawk called for a microphone.
“Relax, Pathfinder,” Black Hawk began. “I’m not after you, though that may come later. I have to just shake my head when I think of all of the times the three of us—you, me, and Marlicus—have tried to kill each other. But if it is all over now, and Marlicus is leaving, I just wanted to come in here and say thanks for the memories. Marlicus, I never have liked you, but you’re one of the best wrestlers I’ve ever seen, and I have to admit that at least you never sold out to Colby. So if this is it, and you’re really leaving, I just wanted to come in and congratulate you on a great career, and to wish you luck.”
Black Hawk then dropped the microphone and reached down to help Marlicus to his feet. To the amazement of the fans, and then to their applause, the two embraced. As they did so, Predator and Wrath, two more current GWF stars who were long-time rivals of Marlicus in the USWF, left the audience to enter the ring and shake the former champion’s hand. Suddenly a file of wrestlers began to emerge from the dressing room: Lycanthrope, Blitz, Scar, Rock, Raven, Exo-King, Charon, and others, even Homicide and Dagger Mack, all came to pay their respects to Marlicus. Even GWF stars such as Wolf, Rising Sun, and former USWF manager Lance At-Las entered the ring to congratulate the seven-time former USWF heavyweight champion. Finally, in the most unexpected gesture of all, Pathfinder offered his hand to his greatest enemy. The event ended with Marlicus surrounded by friends and foes in his final and perhaps greatest USWF moment.
A few more cynical observers noticed that one particular GWF star very pointedly did not leave his seat to join the tribute: Pegasus, who has carried on a verbal and occasionally physical war with the High Lord for years. In fact, Pegasus rose and left the arena while the celebration in the ring was taking place.
After the card, Marlicus commented on his career as he sat in his locker room. “I have to say that I’ve enjoyed my time here,” he stated. “I learned a lot that I will use when I return to my father’s empire in Kaldri. And I appreciated what Black Hawk did tonight, as well as Predator, Wrath, Raven, and the others. I had some real wars with those guys, and it was nice to see that I have their respect. They certainly have mine. As for losing the title to Pathfinder, it doesn’t matter much. I was leaving one way or the other. Besides, someone will take my place and go after him, whether it’s Black Hawk, Streamline, or someone else. I’m just going to go home and relax for a while, but I will miss the USWF.”
GWWF REPORT
LEATHER AND LACE REGAIN TAG TEAM BELTS Leather and Lace became three-time GWWF tag team champions by defeating Feminine Fury for the titles at the Luna Auditorium on December 7. Feminine Fury had struggled since winning the belts in September, registering only three successful defenses. However, on this night Supernova and Ms. Liberty appeared to have their stride back as they matched their challengers blow-for-blow for eight minutes. In the end, however, the sister duo of tag-team specialists won the day when Ms. Liberty went down to their “Both Sides” finisher. “It’s been a long road back” stated Lace after the card. “We lost these belts over two years ago, and the Enchantresses cheated us out of them over and over. But we always knew that in an even fight, we were the best tag team in this federation, and tonight we proved it.”
SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT AT AWARDS BANQUET The sixth annual GWWF achievement awards banquet took place at the Charon Civic Ballroom on Pluto on December 15, 2108. The federation’s entire roster of active wrestlers was present, as were numerous special guests including GWF Commissioners Omega and Morpheus, Wolf, Pegasus, Lord Nexus, Commander Sam, Archon, Max Shield, former GWWF Commissioner Torin Caelum, and various other GWF personalities. In addition, although she was not an invited guest, Sonora Pelf, the wife of USWF majority owner Magnus Colby, bought a ticket for the event and attended. GWWF Commissioner Zachary Carter opened the event, welcoming everyone present with some general remarks on the state of the GWWF. The commissioner then presented the GWWF’s achievement award winners for 2108.
Wrestler of the Year: Amazonia This decision was no contest, as Amazonia has held the title since late 2108 and ran up a 12-6 record. Amazonia thus won the GWWF’s top award for the second straight year. Runners-up: 1. Supernova (a 13-6 record and held the tag-team belts with Ms. Liberty); 2. Velar (won the Queen’s Challenge tournament but managed only an 11-11 overall record); 3. Thrash (a 13-9 record in a strong overall year).
Tag Team of the Year: Leather and Lace In a very close vote, the current tag champions claimed the tag team honors for the second time on the strength of a federation best 13-8 record. Runners-up: 1. Feminine Fury (held the tag team titles and notched an 11-6 overall record); 2. Aethran Amazons (held the tag belts for five months but defended only three times); 3. The Enchantresses (won the Queen’s Challenge tag team tournament and regained the tag belts in August after holding them for the first three months of the year, but had only a 4-12 record as they did not win a single match outside of the tournament and the title shot it earned them). When the wrestler of the year results were announced, Velar stood up from her seat and shouted, “This is it! How could I finish third? This is all a disgrace, and I’m out of here. I’m going to the USWF where they’ll appreciate me.” It was Velar’s former teammate, Anaxis, who answered. “Yeah, they’ll appreciate you,” she said. “Kailani, Voodoo Queen, and Shadow will beat you into the ground. You never were any good, and they’ll prove it just like we have.” Velar simply glared at Anaxis for a moment before storming out of the room. When she was gone, Commissioner Carter continued. “That’s the end of our awards, but I do have another big announcement,” Carter said. “Velar mentioned the USWF. Although I have nothing concrete to report, I want to announce that I did receive a call from USWF Commissioner Grogan this week. I am not certain of what is going on with him [note: see USWF report], and I don’t especially trust him , but he suggested the possibility of bringing our women’s divisions back together again to some degree. The USWF will want to keep its own division separate, but we may be able to arrange some inter-federation events. I will let you know more if we are able to work out the details. “Finally, I am happy to say that we will be expanding next year,” Carter concluded. “I have been contacted by no less than four women who plan to join our ranks in 2109. We will keep growing, and we will keep getting stronger every year.” Unexpectedly, Sonora Pelf stood up in the audience. “Make it five, Mr. Carter,” she said. “I have been in training, and I am ready to step into the ring myself.” Carter shook his head. “I’m sorry, Ms. Pelf, but you know the court’s decision. You are not allowed to be associated with the GWF, and that includes wrestling on GWF cards.” “Wrong,” Sonora Pelf exclaimed. “There is a loophole, commissioner, and I will explain it to you. Trust me, this will all be legal, and when you understand I think you’ll be happy to have me.” Ms. Pelf’s comments left the audience shocked. No one could imagine what she was planning, and both wrestlers and reporters looked forward to finding out how one of the co-owners of the Colby/Pelf Corporation planned to get around the court’s decision.

GWF 2109 Highlights
From WPU 12.1
GALAXY CUP 2109 MORPHEUS TAKES COMMAND The year 2109 began for the GWF with the traditional Galaxy Cup tournaments at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena. The Galaxy Cup tournaments were created in 2087 and have been held every year since. As always, this year’s tournaments were preceded by the annual press conferences at which teams announce their rosters and plans for the coming year. Commissioner Morpheus kicked off the year with his own press conference in the Deimos Media Center on January 16. “Welcome, everyone,” the commissioner began. “I feel a little alone here without Omega for the first time. I know that there has been some concern about me serving as sole commissioner, and based on my past record I guess I can understand the reservations. But I want to assure everyone that I am devoted to the GWF, and I plan to run an organized, efficient, and honest commissioner’s office. “I have several announcements to begin with,” Morpheus continued. “Regarding our referees, our head official Bounty Hunter has chosen to leave the federation at this time. I am therefore reinstating Massif as the GWF’s head referee. And as a second special referee, we are happy to welcome Billy Jo Boxer from the USWF.” Morpheus paused before continuing. “As commissioner, I have access to a lot of classified information,” he said. “Per tradition, I have to let teams announce their own rosters. Just let me tell you that you will hear and see some disturbing things in the next two days. The team press conferences should be fascinating. “Finally, regarding the UFSP,” Morpheus continued, “President Cordanus has asked us to discontinue the special matches title. He claims that competition for this belt causes too much violence. I am hereby officially stating that our answer is no. The special matches title stays. But Cordanus is out to get us, and I hope everyone is prepared to work together to fight him.” “That’s about it for now,” the commissioner concluded. “Team press conferences will begin this afternoon. I expect this to be a wild year. Fasten your seatbelts, because here we go.”
SURPRISES BOTH FROM AND FOR BRYMSTONE BURNING In a random choice that set a tone of wildness for the entire year, Brymstone Burning was granted the first team press conference of 2109. Maleph led the way into the Deimos Media Center, followed by Blazing Skull and Anarchy. “Last year we had some bad luck,” Maleph began. “We had a lot of injuries and a lot of suspensions. So do we tone it down? Of course not—we turn it up. Skull and Anarchy are back to create more mayhem. And I’ve brought in a new partner for us. Say hello to the newest member of Brymstone Burning: Tortured Soul!” A gray, emaciated figure shuffled out onto the stage. The look on his face was totally blank, and he was dressed in rags. Indeed, his entire appearance suggested decay, as if he were some sort of walking dead. “Hey Archon!” cackled Blazing Skull. “Take a good look. What do you think of our new friend? I think maybe you’ll recognize him.” As the Brymstonians laughed, Archon, Blade, and Lorelei burst out onto the stage. “This is disgusting!” Archon stated. “I had to get a closer look. I didn’t believe it was possible, even for scum like you!” As the Brymstone Burning team laughed, Lorelei and Blade just looked at their partner in confusion. “Don’t you see what they’ve done?” Archon cried. “This is a dead man. His name was Vulcepa, and he was a friend of mine. Now they’ve turned him into a zombie!” “That’s right,” Maleph smiled. “He fought with you against us. But he’s on our side now.” “That’s not Vulcepa!” Archon shouted. “It’s just a body. He’d never join you. And I’m not going to let you get away with this.” Archon leapt at Blazing Skull, with Blade following close behind, but they were outnumbered by Skull, Anarchy, and Tortured Soul. Then, unexpectedly, another figure entered the fray: Vyper flew out of the stage wings with a club and blasted Blazing Skull, With the odds evened, the Brymstonians withdrew, shouting curses at Vyper as they went. “That’s twice you’ve helped me against them,” Archon said to Vyper when he had regained his breath. “What’s going on with you?” Vyper shook his head. “Look, I’m not big into explanations at the moment,” he said. “All that matters is that you’re outnumbered, and I can help. I need a new team, someone I can count on for once. What do you say?” The Centaurians smiled. “You’re in the right place,” Lorelei said. “We can use your talent. Welcome aboard. With your help, we’ll put an end to those psychos from Brymstone once and for all.”
BIG ADDITIONS FOR KRAKAN Since the beginning of the Galaxy Cup press conferences, the Invincible Krakan has made a tradition of appearing alone to speak for his team. The media was therefore shocked to see the Deadly Militia leader walk out onto the Media Center stage accompanied by Dark Justice. “Pay attention, you pea-brained reporters!” Krakan snapped. “I have some major announcements to make. Dark Justice is here with me because I am going to enjoy my new additions so much, I invited them all here with me. First of all, I want to state that Mike Fortune and Greg Valentine are on their own this year. I’ve sent them off to work on their tag team skills, and they may re-join the Militia at a later date. But right now, I have four new men to join Dark Justice. Well, the first is not a new man. We’ve worked together before. You all know him. You all know what he can do. Splatter is back with the Deadly Militia!” The masked lunatic walked out on stage in front of the stunned reporters. Krakan, Dark Justice, and Splatter together? What could be next? “Our next addition has also worked with me before, several years ago,” Krakan continued. “Doomsayer left him at the end of last year and said no one wanted him. Well, I wanted him, and I got him. Come on out, Mayhem!” The Aethran wildman stepped out of the stage wings. Now the strange actions of Krakan and Mayhem in coming to Splatter’s aid in late 2108 made sense. But Krakan was not finished. “Of course, we need a tag team, and I have a great one,” the Militia leader stated. “Doomsayer, I don’t know where you went at the end of last year, but I thank you for it. Allow me to bring out our final members: Rack and Ruin, Desolation Factor!” As the two gigantic wrestlers from Dimension X joined their teammates, Krakan smiled evilly. “I’ve been waiting for years for this,” he said. “Vengeance, you and your boys put me in a neck brace. You tried to end my career. Well, now I have the men to get my revenge. The Aethrans had better watch out, because we’re going to have a real war this year.”
COLONIZERS WAIT FOR RETURN OF MANDRILL Nefarus came out on stage alone for the Colonizers of Scorpi press conference. “I am here to speak for our team,” he said. “Our leader, Mandrill, will be joining us in a day or two, although he will not be able to compete in Galaxy Cup. But our team will remain as it was last year: Mandrill, Wraith, Painmaster, Vendetta, and myself. We have no reason to change. We’re the strongest team in the galaxy, and when Mandrill returns we will rule this federation again.”
GENESIS READY FOR BATTLE Vertigo led the Genesis team out for its press conference. He was followed by Max Shield, Blizzard, Buck Steele, Hydrax, and Daemon. “We have no startling announcements this year,” Vertigo said. “As you can all see, the Ninja Assassins are still with us. Buck is healthy again, and he is still fighting to keep his Genocide personality under control. Max is still the interplanetary champion. We’re here to fight, and we’ll take whatever the Colonizers have to dish out.”
DOOMSAYER PRESENTS HIS STUNNING NEW TEAM Doomsayer marched out on stage alone for the introduction of his new team, Transrevolver. “Krakan!” he snapped. “You’d better not worry about the Aethrans just yet, because we’ve got some scores to settle. How dare you steal three of my men? You will pay, Krakan. And I have the men to make you do it. “First of all, my Mad Jester is back,” Doomsayer continued. “At least he stayed loyal while I was gone. And I will reward him by making him a part of the greatest team in this federation, in spite of the defections of Mayhem and Desolation Factor. Let me introduce you to my new team: the Mad Jester, Monad, Nth degree, Mastodon, and Chupacabras!” Five men, or perhaps creatures, walked out on stage behind Doomsayer. Two, obviously, were the Mad Jester and Monad, but the other three were all hideous. One was a humanoid with two heads. Another was a hulking beast nearly seven feet tall, covered with hair and sporting two tusks that grew from his face. The third was smaller, but had with long nails, a mottled pelt for skin, and sharp spines protruding from his back. As the media looked more closely, two of the creatures became recognizable. The two-headed beast was much larger than he had been, but he was obviously the undercard wrestler Pollux. The gigantic, hair-covered monster was much transformed, but he was identifiable as former USWF star Mammoth. But who could the smaller newcomer be?
As Doomsayer grinned at the media’s disgust, Commander Sam walked out onto the stage. “This is sick,” he spat. “I assume this is all work of the Transrevolver. Pollux, what have you done to yourself?” “It’s Nth Degree now,” the two-headed wrestler replied. “And what I did was take a giant step in my career.” “You’re a fool,” Sam replied. “But at least you made your own stupid choice. Doomsayer, how could you do this to Mammoth? He’s not even capable of making such a decision for himself. To transform him is criminal!” “He signed over permission,” Doomsayer answered. “Now he’s Mastodon, the most powerful force in wrestling. How can anyone complain? It was all legal.” Sam shook his head. “I’m not convinced of that,” he said. “And who is this third misguided soul you’ve transformed?” “I’m disappointed, Sam,” responded a familiar voice. “How could my old manager not recognize me?” “Toltecas!” Sam gasped. “What is this? How could you? Do you know what you’ve done?” “I’ve become a superstar,” the smaller mutant answered. “Doomsayer is leading us all to greatness.” “Like he did Dreadnaught? Or Reptillo? But it’s your funeral. I’ll prove to you what a joke this is. My men will be after you this year to show you that Doomsayer lied to you.”
“Give it your best shot, Sam” Doomsayer said. “You won’t have a chance. With the power of the transrevolver and my new additions, my team will destroy you and your pitiful followers this year.”
GLADIATORS FIRE BACK AT KRAKAN The Gladiators of Aethra entered the media center as a group, with Vengeance leading Spike, Malice, Thunder, and Overkill. “Krakan, it’s hard to believe that you’re stupid enough to challenge us again,” Vengeance smiled. “But you didn’t need to challenge us. When you signed the traitor Mayhem to your team, you sealed your own fate. We are still the most dominating force in the galaxy and in this federation. And this year we have a surprise. Our roster of wrestlers will be the same, but welcome our new manager: Brute!” The huge GWF hall of fame wrestler walked out on to the stage. “It’s on now,” he said. “I’m back with the gladiator team, and now we’re gonna bust some heads. Krakan, you’re first. Everyone else can just line up, ‘cause we’ll get to all of you before we’re done.”
GUILE STEALS A CHAMPION Reynard B. Guile, manager of Disorder X, marched into the media center flanked by Mace and Grunge. “We’re gonna make people take notice this year,” Guile said. “My team, ‘The Hired Guns,’ is on its way up in this federation. We’ll destroy everyone, especially those worthless punks who work for Johnny Rocket. My men were always better than them, and we’ll prove it this year. And to show just how pitiful Rocket is as a manager, let me introduce the newest member of the Hired Guns: the GWF cruiserweight champion, Skinhead!” Skinhead walked out on stage and shook hands with Guile, Mace, and Grunge. “I got sick of Rocket and all of the attention he gave to Twin Blood,” the cruiserweight champ explained. “I want to be where I’m appreciated. Reynard has promised me that this is the place to be. Sorry, Rocket, but you lose again.”
FDF ADDS TWO NEW MEN Commander Sam stepped out on stage at the media center for the Federation Defense Fighters press conference leading Manslaughter, Euritar, and the Defender of the Realm. “I want to say again how disturbed I am by Doomsayer’s actions,” Sam began. “Toltecas was a friend of mine once, and Mammoth just does not have the capability to authorize such a transformation. It’s sick, and as I said, my men will go after Transrevolver to put a stop to Doomsayer. “Obviously, as defending War Games champions, we have a lot of firepower. Last year’s GWF wrestler of the year, Manslaughter, is ready to go again, and he’ll be going after Mastodon. Euritar, last year’s top newcomer, is also back, and he’ll take on Chupacabras, among others. Of course, Defender of the Realm wants to continue his feud with the Mad Jester. “Obviously, Jack of Diamonds is not here,” Sam stated. “He has informed me that he will not be rejoining us this year. But I still have a tag team to go after Monad and Nth degree, as well as anyone else. Please welcome ‘Sam’s Commandos,’ also known as Captain Dalcost and Jason the Canadian Bomber.” To the media’s amazement, Jason and Dalcost stepped out onto the stage together. The two talented men who had carried on such a violent feud in the USWF were now a team, and Sam had indeed put together a squad that could challenge Doomsayer’s Transrevolver or any other group in the federation.
ROCKET FINDS QUICK REPLACEMENT FOR SKINHEAD Johnny Rocket stepped out onto the media center stage with a purposeful look on his face. Dreggs and Sleeze entered right behind their manager. “Well, so Skinhead has jumped ship,” Rocket began. “I saw this coming. Skinhead is a good athlete, but he’s all ego. He belongs with Mace and Grunge. As for me, I’ve managed to improve our team again. Last year we lost Grunge and gained Dreggs. This year we lose Skinhead, but look who is joining us. Come on in—Enigma!” The high-flying masked man walked out and stood beside Twin Blood. “Now what do you think, Guile?” Rocket asked. “Still think you’ll crush us? Look out, because we’re sick of you, so you’re gonna get your chance. Your men had better be ready, because we’re playing for keeps.”
CYGNUS STRIKEFORCE FINDS A MANAGER U. S. Traitor and Maelstrom entered the media center together. U. S. Traitor spoke for the team. “I’m sick of hearing about all of these other groups,” the Traitor said. “Especially the FDF. Commander Sam has always been overrated, and now he has a loser like Jason the Canadian Bomber back again? Well, Maelstrom and I are a better team, and now we have a better manager. I’ll bet Sam will recognize him, too. Say hello to an old friend, Sam—Mangus!” The one-time GWF star from Cygnus, who had not been seen or heard from in years, joined Cygnus Strikeforce on stage. “That’s right, Sam, I’m back,” he hissed. “I’ve been waiting years for this. My men are going to put you and your boys away, and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
MORPHEUS SPEAKS FOR INDEPENDENTS Commissioner Morpheus called a special press conference on January 17, the day before the Galaxy Cup tournaments would begin. “I’m here to give an update on several GWF stars we have not yet heard from,” he said. “The only teams remaining who have scheduled press conferences are the Titans, the Champions, and Team Thantos. Several wrestlers are fighting as independents and chose not to hold press conferences. These individuals include Wolf, the Draconian Sheik, Brainstorm, Soldier of Fortune, Meteor, Mutant, and the GWF champion the Matador of M83. In addition, two new singles wrestlers will be joining us this year. Their names are Soulwatcher and Sir Ender. And finally, we will also add two young tag teams. The first is Blackout, which consists of Charon and Scorpio and who you may have seen in the USWF. The second is a new team from Andromeda, Antak and Son of Ram, called Animan Invasion. We welcome all of these new wrestlers and wish them good luck.”
THANTOS KEEPS HIS PROMISE Late in 2108, Thantos stated during an interview with Warrior Promotions Update that in 2109 he was “going to make news like no one but Thantos can.” At the joint press conference of the Champions and the Fighting Titans, the former Penthouse Suite manager proved his words to be true.
The press conference began with Star Warrior, Lord Nexus, Pegasus, Lance At-Las, Rising Sun, Scion Nexus, Ursa Major, Supernova, Alpha Force, and Chaos all on stage. Lord Nexus spoke first. “I’m honored to be here with Star Warrior and the Champions,” Nexus said. “We decided to hold our press conferences together because we have reached a mutual decision regarding Rising Sun’s status. As you all know, Rising Sun is officially a member of the Titans. Last year he joined the Champions on a temporary basis so that I would have more time to work with TitanAttack. This arrangement worked well for everyone, and I think that you will see some big improvement in Ursa and Scion this year. However, I have decided that I would like one more year to focus on them. Therefore, Rising Sun will remain a member of the Champions for 2109. He will return to the Titans in 2110.” Star Warrior took the microphone next. “That being said, our roster is obvious,” he stated. “Kati has decided to leave us, and we wish him well. But we still have Pegasus to battle Paragon, Rising Sun for Prodigy, Alpha Power for Millennium, and Lance At-Las for whatever mystery man Thantos is bringing in. We’ll be ready for anything they can throw at us.” “Are you sure about that?” asked a voice from offstage. Thantos emerged from the stage wings, followed by Paragon, Prodigy, Heracles, and Colossus. “Pardon me for interrupting, but we might as well make this press conference a three-way dance,” Thantos smiled. “After all, what I have to say will interest you.” “I doubt that,” Alpha Force snapped. “You’re all hot air, and I’m ready to get an early start on Galaxy Cup if you don’t hit the road now.” Thantos continued to smile. “Calm down, Alpha. Are you sure you don’t want to know who our newest addition is?” Alpha Force shook his head. “I couldn’t care less what flunkie you’ve hired this time.” “Not even if it’s your own brother?” Alpha Force and his teammates stared uncomprehendingly as Thantos and his men broke into laughter at their reaction. Then Thantos, with a large flourish, announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, I present—Bloodline!”
A young man who looked vaguely like Alpha Force walked out onto the stage. As Thantos’ smile grew even wider, he shook hands with all of the members of Team Thantos. “Nebula, what are you doing?” Star Warrior gasped. “I’m joining my new team, brother,” the young man answered. “And in case you didn’t hear my manager, the name is now Bloodline. Thantos had time for me, like my own family never did. So now I’m here to join him. If you ever would have paid attention, you’d have known I was ready to come to the GWF, but you were always too busy. Now I’m here at last, and I’m going to make sure you notice me from now on.” Alpha Force and Star Warrior began to protest angrily, but Lance At-Las stepped forward. “I don’t know what’s happening here, but I can see that we need some time to sort it out,” Lance said. “This press conference is over. Thantos, this is pretty low, even for you, but we’ll deal with you later. And Bloodline, you’d better think about what you’re doing. I don’t know what Thantos promised you, but I’ll promise you this: you have no idea what you’re getting yourself into.”
GALAXY CUP TOURNAMENTS 2109 The GWF’s twenty-third annual Galaxy Cup Tournaments were held from January 18-21, 2109 at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena of Mars. The event involves two days for the singles tournament and one for the tag team tournament with a day off between. After the first two rounds of each tournament, all matches are fought under Titan Death Match Rules. Tournament winners earn the opportunity to challenge for the Galaxian heavyweight and GWF tag team belts at Galactic War, the GWF’s first regular supercard of the year.
Seventy wrestlers took part in the singles tournament, seven fewer than in 2108. Twenty-four teams competed in the tag team tournament, with the top eight seeds receiving byes in round one.
Results of the Galaxy Cup tournaments were as follows:
Galaxy Cup Singles Tournament
Round One Highlights: Thunder defeated Alpha Force by disqualification; Vendetta upset Mayhem; Wolf scratched Soldier of Fortune; Hydrax stunned Anarchy; The Canadian Bomber beat Spike; Rack upset Nefarus; Ursa Major surprised Blazing Skull; Malice eliminated Bloodline; U. S. Traitor stunned Dark Justice.
Round Two Highlights: The Matador of M83 outlasted Thunder; Vendetta beat Rising Sun with the help of outside interference; the Canadian Bomber upset Pegasus; Mace shocked Max Shield; Rack stunned Prodigy; Monad downed Malice with the help of outside interference.
Round Three: The Matador of M83 knocked out Vendetta; Wolf clawed Maelstrom; Paragon slammed the Canadian Bomber; Rack overcame Mace; Code Enforcer Manslaughter defeated Chaos; Wraith beat Monad; U. S. Traitor upset Vengeance; Code Enforcer Euritar got by Skinhead.
Quarterfinals: Wolf eliminated GWF Champion The Matador of M83 with an “Atomic Knee Drop”; Rack shocked Paragon with a “Racked and Ruined”; Code Enforcer Manslaughter knocked out Wraith with a “Heads Will Roll”; Code Enforcer Euritar blasted U. S. Traitor with a moonsault.
Semi-Finals: Wolf reached the finals for the first time in ten years and only the second time in his career by defeating Rack with the “Savage Face Claw” in a tremendous match; in the first ever meeting between the Code Enforcers, Euritar pinned his tag team partner Manslaughter with an underhook suplex.
Singles Tournament Finals: Wolf put up a terrific fight in an excellent championship match, but in the end Code Enforcer Euritar nailed the Animan star with an “Enforcer DDT” to score the win and capture his first Galaxy Cup.
Galaxy Cup Tag Team Tournament Round One Highlights: Animan Invasion stunned Cygnus Strikeforce; Crossfire overcame Transformer; Spike and Malice took out Frozen Fury; TitanAttack beat Soulwatcher and Soldier of Fortune when Soldier of Fortune walked out on the match; Sam’s Commandos nailed Dark Justice and Splatter.
Round Two: Thunder and Overkill drilled Painmaster and Wraith; The Code Enforcers hammered Animan Invasion; the Ninja Assassins overcame Crossfire; Rebel Empire knocked out Third Planet; Malice and Spike upset Desolation Factor; TitanAttack surprised Alpha Power; Disorder X beat Sam’s Commandos; Millennium eliminated Twin Blood in a great match.
Quarterfinals: Thunder and Overkill pounded the Code Enforcers; the Ninja Assassins survived against Rebel Empire; TitanAttack put away Spike and Malice; Millennium defeated Disorder X.
Semi-finals: The Ninja Assassins reached the finals of the Galaxy Cup Tournament for the first time ever by downing GWF Tag Team Champions Thunder and Overkill when Overkill went down to a “Double Edged Sword”; Millennium ended the great run of TitanAttack when Heracles pinned Scion Nexus with an “Olympia.”
Tag Team Tournament Finals: Millennium took home the tournament championship and the automatic title shot by defeating the Ninja Assassins when Colossus pinned Daemon with a “Robotic Deathblow.” The win was Colossus’ first Galaxy Cup Tag Team Championship, while Heracles won the title in 2105 with Skinhead and also finished as runner-up with Kati in 2101.
Galaxy Cup Notes Euritar’s performance in the singles tournament was dominant. The young masked man had to fend off a tough challenge from Wolf in the finals, and he was also tested by Chupacabras, Skinhead, and his own partner Manslaughter, but he scored convincing wins in all of his matches. Meanwhile, although Wolf’s loss in the finals was a disappointment for the Animan star, his strong performance still has to be encouraging after two mediocre years in 2107 and 2108. Some of the best matches of the tournament were Splatter’s win over Blade, the Draconian Sheik over Dreggs, and Wraith over Ruin in round one, the Matador over Thunder and Wraith over Enigma in round two, and Euritar over Skinhead in round three. The three best matches, however, were Skinhead’s hard-fought victory over Sleeze in the first round, Wolf’s tremendous comeback win over the enormous Rack in the semi-finals, and the finals match between Wolf and Euritar.
While some wrestlers gave disappointing showings in the tournament, others pulled major surprises. Son of Ram put up a great fight before losing to Mastodon in the qualifying round, while U. S. Traitor managed to upset both Dark Justice and Vengeance to reach the quarterfinals and Rack rolled over Nefarus, Prodigy, Mace, and Paragon in an amazing run to the semis.
On the tag team side, Twin Blood, after winning their first sixteen matches in 2108, lost in the first round this year in a classic match against Millennium, the eventual tournament winners. Millennium also had a great battle against Disorder X in another of the tournament’s best matches.
The GWF tag team champions Thunder and Overkill looked stronger than ever in dominating the Code Enforcers in the quarterfinals, but then were upset by the Ninja Assassins. But the most surprising team in the tournament was TitanAttack, who looked terrific in defeating Alpha Power and Spike and Malice as they reached the semi-finals.
BRYMSTONE BURNING DRAWS FIRST BLOOD The dangerous feud between Brymstone Burning and the Centaurians is as hot as ever as Vyper became the first casualty of the year on January 25 at the Morningstar Temple of Venus. Vyper was involved in a Flamsteed Street Fight against Blazing Skull on the first regular card of the GWF year when Skull released a powerful “Death by Fire” to score the win. After the bell, Tortured Soul and Maleph joined Skull in attacking Vyper. The newest addition to the Centaurian team suffered second degree burns and multiple broken ribs as well as numerous torn ligaments in his left knee before Archon arrived to chase the aggressors away. Vyper is expected to be out of action for as much as four months. Commissioner Grogan suspended Tortured Soul and Maleph for three weeks and Blazing Skull for five. “I told you all what would happen,” Blazing Skull bragged after the card. “When Vyper interfered in my match with Archon at Galacticade last December, he got involved in something he can’t handle. Just be glad Anarchy was wrestling at Fire Island tonight. If he’d been here, we’d still be torturing that little creep.”
CORDANUS ACHIEVES FIRST GWF CARD CANCELLATIONS UFSP President Cordanus, following through on his threats to close down GWF cards this year, had little success through the first few events of 2109. By the end of January, he had managed no better than to have the Colonizers banned from a card at the Janus Star Center on which none of the Colonizers were scheduled to compete. On February 4, however, Cordanus’ luck and perhaps the entire landscape of the GWF changed. The card on February 4 was scheduled to take place at the Umbriel Sky Dome of Uranus, with Max Shield set to defend the interplanetary belt against Vengeance in the main event. When the GWF staff and wrestlers arrived at the Sky Dome, however, they were informed that the card had been cancelled. Four days later at the Nereid Starplex of Neptune, with Mandrill scheduled to see his first action of the year and the Matador of M83 set to meet Paragon for the galaxian belt, the situation repeated itself. Fans on Neptune staged a huge protest outside the Starplex, but arena officials cited pressure from the local government and the UFSP for refusing to allow the card to take place. “This is very disappointing,” GWF Commissioner Morpheus stated. “We are investigating every avenue by which we can fight back. In the meantime, I hope that the local officials on Neptune and Uranus will reconsider their decisions when we come back here in two months. If not, we may have to do some rescheduling once the War Games start.”
VENGEANCE TOPS SHIELD FOR INTERPLANETARY BELT After several months of frustrated efforts, Vengeance finally defeated Max Shield to claim the interplanetary title at Ganymede Stadium on February 8. Vengeance had beaten Shield numerous times in non-title matches and by disqualification, but he had been unable to pin the champion with the belt on the line. Perhaps the most frustrating moment for the Aethran leader came at Galacticade in December of 2109, when he appeared to have Shield beaten but won by disqualification when Vyper interfered. At Ganymede Stadium Vengeance left little room for interference or doubt about his victory. The new champion took just three minutes to knock Shield from his feet and then catch him in the “Helter Skelter” to score the win and claim the interplanetary title for the seventh time in his career.
USWF REPORT
INVASION BEGINS AT USWF PRESS CONFERENCE The USWF held its year-opening press conference for 2109 on January 20, the day off between the GWF’s Galaxy Cup Tournaments. Once again this year the event took place in the press room of Pelf Palace. Commissioner Grogan served as master of ceremonies and was joined on stage by Magnus Colby and by representatives from each of the USWF’s teams. “Welcome, everyone, to what we believe we will the greatest year ever for the USWF,” Grogan began. “We have a full slate of activities today, so we’ll get started right away. I have some announcements to make, but our majority owner Mr. Colby has asked to speak first. Mr. Colby, it’s all yours.” “That’s right,” Colby snarled. “I have something to say, and it’s due to my dear wife’s latest treachery [note: see Women’s Leagues Report]. Sonora, you’ve sunk to new lows, but you’ll regret what you’ve done to me. No one embarrasses me this way. And my announcement is this: I am officially renaming Planet Pelf as Planet Colby ands Pelf Palace as Colby Palace. Your name does not deserve to be attached to my property. But that’s just the beginning. I will have my revenge.” Commissioner Grogan took back the microphone. “Now I have a few other matters to deal with before we get to the teams,” he said. “You also all know that I fired Scourge as our head official at the end of last year,” Grogan continued. “Well, I have a great replacement. He is returning to the job he held from 2101 to 2104. Welcome Bounty Hunter back to the USWF as supervisor of referees.” As Bounty Hunter walked out onto the stage to the applause of the media, Grogan spoke again.
“The next order of business is the Sudden Death banishments. We already know that Marikel Magnifique was pre-determined as the man to be exiled from the Primary Colors team, and Armageddon accepted their banishment for losing to Kobe Extreme before the year was even over. In addition, the Star Defenders have informed me that Toltecas and Slash, who both walked out on their team before the end of last year, will be banished. The Cathedral of Calamity has chosen to exile Brother Garis, while the CPC Enforcement Division chose to banish Gorthanor. In fact, I understand that Gorthanor has reconciled with High Lord Marlicus and returned to Kaldri. And lastly, Charon and Scorpio flipped a coin and decided that Scorpio would accept the official banishment for their loss to Alien Assault, but the two of them plan to stay together and have both left this federation to wrestle in the GWF. With the voluntary exits of Pormak Landiron, Caldiron Torsir, Salitar Palgin, High Lord Marlicus, Tirrion Astri, the Canadian Bomber, and Captain Dalcost, we have lost quite a few men since last year.
“I also want to announce that we will be creating a new supercard this year. It will be called Universal Battleground and will be held at the Maxus Trinity Towers. This year’s card will take place on April 2. “Regarding the tag team championships which were vacated at the end of last year, we have decided that the winners of the Star Challenge tag team tournament on March 3 will also be named the new tag team champions.
“Finally, I want to announce that with the end of Sudden Death, we will re-institute the USWF War Games this year. I will give full details on the format of the Games at a later date. “Now, on to the team presentations. One representative will speak for each team. The order of presentation was determined randomly. Badger, you drew the first spot.”
Team representatives then made their statements in the following order:
Incredible Badger (manager, Untamed Warriors): “The Untamed Warriors are still here and looking for a good fight. Guthlac considered returning to his home on Sanglia, but he decided to come back for another year. He joins Lycanthrope, Blitz, and Scar on our roster. I understand that Venom is joining another team, which makes me very sad, but I guess it is his choice.”
Terak (manager, Savage Kingdom): “It’s great to be back here in the USWF. Wildcat, Karah, Gila, and I are looking forward to a fresh start and a great year.”
Bishop Hell (team leader, Cathedral of Calamity): “I don’t know when this federation started letting in riff-raff like the Savage Kingdom. But my team just keeps getting stronger. We still have Father Steel as our star, of course, and we still have the Priest of Pain as a bodyguard. But we exiled Brother Garis and fired Brother Tamor. I’ve recruited a better tag team. The Lower World will be coming from the GWF and joining us here.”
Master Kobashi (manager, Kobe Extreme): “My team needed little more firepower, with Crow, Shiryu, and Shouji Kanemura being the top trio in this federation. But we added more help just because we wanted to. The Barbaric Destroyer will be joining us this year, and with his help, we will crush the Badger’s useless Warriors.”
Silver Ace (manager, Death Row): “I am here to announce the formation of a new team. The CPC Enforcement Division is dead. Instead, we will be called ‘Death Row.’ Our team will consist of Silverfang and Stargazer, as well as our newest singles wrestler, Venom. And for tag team action, we have added Vascor and Tarloc, who will now be known as ‘Hired for Bounty.’
“Venom, why?” the Incredible Badger shouted. “How could you join this bunch of thugs?” “Because this is where the actions is,” Venom replied as he stood up from his seat in the gallery. “I’m sick of playing it safe. We’re going pure hardcore, and we’re gonna take out Dagger Mack and his boys any way we have to.”
Dagger Mack (team leader, Agents of Fortune): “Dream on, boy. You can’t match up with me, Homicide, and Reckless Abandon. And we have a new tag team, too: Theater of Pain is back, and they know more about wrestling than your bounty hunters ever will. We’ll see who takes who out. This is hardcore all the way.” “Alright,” Commissioner Grogan broke in. “That’s enough. I guess that this is a good time to talk about our independents. The Stormtroopers do not have a representative here, but they will be competing as a tag team. The same goes for Stormfront, made up of Skyfire and Hurricane, and for a new team called the Masked Marvels, made up of Lycosa and Halcón Oro. In addition, Dynamo will be competing as a singles wrestler. Now where were we? Exo-King, you’re up.”
Exo-King (manager, The King’s Court): “Right. The King’s Court is back. My son Jack of Diamonds has come from the GWF to join us, and Talon is also here to form a tag-team with Raven called the ‘Soaring Eagles.’ In addition, I have brought back Zouave the Conqueror to add a little muscle. Look out, Bishop Hell. We’re coming for you.”
Shadowmaster (manager, Penthouse Suite): “This is pitiful. Is this the best you can all do? Well, Mr. Colby has given me a real team. Welcome from the GWF Terminus and Janus, some newcomers that will really make an impact. We also have Vector One full-time this year. And for a tag team, welcome back Romulus and Taurine, now known as the Penthouse Punks.”
Holocaust (team spokesman, Outsider Dominion): "You didn’t think it would be that easy, did you, you masked clown? I’ve put together a team of my own to challenge you. I’ll take Vector One myself. Kati has come back to the USWF to take on Janus. As for Terminus, I have his worst nightmare: an even better wrestler from Ara, the Dominator. And we also have a new tag team, Muss and the Bomb, also known as the Troubleshooters. So get ready, because we’re here for you.”
Parsec (manager, Primary Colors): “Well, with all these newcomers arriving, it would be easy to overlook our established stars, and as the new manager of the Primary Colors I can’t let that happen. We have the USWF champion, Pathfinder. We have Casshan and Witherspoon. And we have the interstellar champion, Maccavity, who will also be forming a tag team this year with Mantric called ‘Top Shelf.’ Bring in all of the new men you want; we still have the gold.”
The Unknown Soldier (team spokesman, the Star Defenders): “Not for long, Parsec. We have some surprises for you. First, Daniel Streamline and I are back and ready to go. We’ve also put together a tag team to help us. Rock lost his partner, but he didn’t want to leave, so we found him a new one: Space Ranger. The Ranger and Rock have been rivals for years, since they both wrestled on Jupiter ten years ago, but Space Ranger wants revenge on Vascor and Tarloc so bad that he’ll team with anyone. They plan to call themselves the Avengers. And we also have one more surprise for Pathfinder: guess who’s back? Black Hawk has returned from the GWF, and he’s gonna take that belt away form you.”
Before Parsec could reply, Grogan stepped in again. “Okay, I think that’s all we’ll need of that. I want to announce that in addition to the nine women who began our women’s division last year, three more new stars have joined us. The first two are both familiar from the GWWF: Cassandra and Velar. The third is a newcomer, Phantasy, who will be a valet for Holocaust’s team. Velar and Cassandra wanted me to stress that although they were teammates in the GWWF, they are not here together. In addition, neither of them have allied themselves with their former CPC teammates Voodoo Queen, Celestia, and Angel. I guess we’ll all just have to see how all of this develops. And that’s it for now. The first card of the year will be held in three days here at Pelf Pal—I mean Colby Palace. We’ll see everyone there.”
CORDANUS DRAWS FIRST USWF BLOOD Although he has not yet managed to cancel an entire USWF card, UFSP President Cordanus did throw off the federation’s matchmaking when he had the entire Cathedral of Calamity banned from participating on a card at the Charon Ice Castle on January 28. “We are very angry and very frustrated, of course,” USWF Commissioner Grogan stated. “We were set for what would have been a great match between Black Hawk and Father Steel, as well as the first meeting of the year between Bishop Hell and Jack of Diamonds. We hated to lose those matches. But we will not give in to Cordanus. We’ll keep doing things our way, and with Mr. Colby’s help we will put an end to Cordanus’ interference.” Cordanus, of course, had another view. “This is just a warning,” he crowed. “I am telling the USWF right now to be on its best behavior. This so-called hardcore garbage is going to stop, even if I have to be the one to stop it. I don’t care who I have to ban to end this mockery of a sport. Wrestling should not be about tables and clubs, and with me around it won’t be for much longer. The days of the hardcore title are numbered.”

SONORA PELF STEALS THE SHOW MS. COLBY IS BIG NEWS AT GWWF PRESS CONFERENCE The GWWF’s sixth annual year-opening press conference was held on the morning of January 20, 2109 in the Deimos Intergalactic Arena Media Center. The GWWF’s entire roster of wrestlers was present for the event, as was GWF Commissioner Morpheus. GWWF Commissioner Zachary Carter opened the press conference with his welcoming remarks. “Women’s wrestling has had something of an upheaval in the last couple of years,” Carter stated. “The division of our talent roster as several wrestlers moved to the USWF set us back a bit. But I am happy to say that we are back on track now, and we have several new additions this year. “First, I want to announce that almost all of our wrestlers from last year will be returning,” Carter continued. “The exceptions are Cassandra and Velar, who have both decided to join the USWF. In addition, while Black Widow and Kianyra will still be here in the GWWF, they have dissolved their tag team. I understand that Kianyra is considering reforming her old partnership with Maxine. “We also have five new additions. The first two are from Brymstone, and their names are Hunger and Serpentine. They will form a tag team called the Hellions. Our other new duo is made up of two independent wrestlers, Sniper and Taechon, who will sometimes form a team named Arcana. We welcome all four of these newcomers to the GWWF.” Carter then smiled slightly and glanced at Morpheus. “Our final addition is a familiar face,” he said, “but I will let her explain her situation herself. Please welcome Sonora Pelf.” The media was in shock as the wife of CPC owner Magnus Colby walked out on stage. Everyone knew that a court decision in 2108 had barred anyone associated with Colby from participating in the GWF, and all GWWF matches are held on GWF cards. “I’m sure you’re all wondering what I’m doing here, and how I can be here,” Ms. Pelf began. “It’s really quite simple. The court decision applied to Magnus Colby and people legally and contractually tied to him. I am able to participate in the GWWF because I am dissolving my legal ties to Mr. Colby. That’s right— Magnus, I’m divorcing you!” The smiles on the faces of Carter and Morpheus grew wider as another setback for Magnus Colby began to be obvious. “From this day on, I will be known as Nora Pelf,” Ms. Colby continued. “Obviously, the divorce is not yet final, but Mr. Carter has agreed to let me enter the GWWF as long as he has written, legal assurance that the process is pending. But I want to assure everyone that my takeover days are over. I am just here to wrestle, and all I want is a chance to do so. I’ve given Mr. Carter all of the legal assurance he has asked for, and now I’m ready to step into the ring.”
