QUESTIONS ABOUT MASSIF RESURFACE CONTROVERSY BEGINS AT COSMIC MAYHEM SUPERCARD Like a familiar nightmare that no one wanted to relive, a controversial situation involving GWF special referee Massif erupted at the Cosmic Mayhem supercard and raised doubts regarding the big man’s supposed renunciation of his allegiance to the Colby/Pelf Corporation. Cosmic Mayhem, held annually at the Polaris Interstellar Stadium, is the third oldest of the GWF supercards, having originated at the Aldebaran Exposition Center in 2092. The main event for this year’s card, which took place on April 23, was set to be a Galaxian title match between GWF Champion Chaos and the number one contender, Pegasus. The challenger’s status was in doubt for some time, as he had not yet fully recovered from a rib injury inflicted upon him by Chaos and Heracles. However, Pegasus refused to give up the opportunity he had earned and eventually received doctor’s clearance.
The controversy involving Massif began during the GWF tag team title match. CPC Rising and X-Termination had engaged in numerous brutal battles in the previous weeks, and this night was no exception. Midway through the contest, Janus caught Grunge with a superdrop and attempted a cover. When Sleeze tried to break up the pin, Massif prevented him, and the two engaged in a shoving match until the huge referee blasted Sleeze with a “Volcanic Drop.” Sleeze was knocked unconscious on the floor of the arena, leaving Grunge to fend for himself. The challenger fought impressively for several minutes before finally going down to the Matador of M83’s “Bullwhip,” allowing CPC Rising to retain the belts. After the card, a furious Johnny Rocket called for an investigation. “Massif has betrayed us all before,” he said. “You saw what happened out there. CPC Rising did not beat my men; Massif did. He knocked Sleeze out. I think he’s back on Colby’s payroll, and I want him out of the ring again.”
Cosmic Mayhem 2107 Highlights The Stormtroopers downed the Titan Flyers The Mercenaries and the Centaurians fought to a double DQ Archon beat Monad by DQ when U. S. Patriot interfered Skinhead pinned Dreggs in three minutes with a “Bad Attitude” to win the cruiserweight title Prodigy dropped Enigma with a “Perfect Singles Finisher” in a Titan Death Match Frozen Fury defeated Rebel Empire with Bounty Hunter as the referee Vyper crushed Wraith to win the heavy metal title Predator knocked out Splatter with the stun rod in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Malice blasted Wrath with a “Fields of Malice” in a Castor Chain Match Colossus dominated Mandrill in the first ever Scorpi King of the Ring Match Vengeance pounded Spike in a Torture Chamber Match Max Shield pinned Anarchy with a “Maximum Impact” to retain the interplanetary title Desolation Factor won a tough cage match against Thunder and Overkill Paragon destroyed Heracles in a Leather Strap Match Wolf topped Terminus in a Shandor Street Fight with a “Savage Face Claw” CPC Rising retained the GWF tag team titles by defeating X-Termination Pegasus defeated Galaxian Champion Chaos by disqualification when Skinhead interfered.
Cosmic Mayhem Notes Paragon’s win over Heracles in the Leather Strap Match went beyond brutality. Heracles was carried from the ring after the contest and may miss the beginning of the War Games. After the event, Massif denied any wrongdoing in the GWF tag team title match. “I admit, I made a mistake,” he stated. “I was just trying to keep Sleeze from interfering, and things got out of hand. I am not back on Colby’s payroll. I resent Rocket’s statements, but considering what I did in the past, I understand them. What happened tonight was an accident, and I apologize to X-Termination for it. But let’s not blow this out of proportion.” Pegasus also had comments after the card. “I had Chaos this time,” he declared. “He knows it, and I know it. I hit him with a “Project Pegasus” that knocked him out. I thought that with Heracles hurt, this would be an even match, but Chaos obviously still has an arrangement with Skinhead. I’m not gonna cry about this, but I want Chaos back in the ring soon.” Commissioners Omega and Morpheus immediately announced that Pegasus would receive his rematch for the title before the beginning of the War Games. The commissioners made no statement regarding the situation with Massif.
WRATH EARNS RESPECT FROM WOLF The tiny Lagoon at M8 was host to one of the most exciting matches in recent memory on May 1 when the long awaited cage matchup between Wolf and Wrath took place. For many years Wolf has been regarded as perhaps the most dangerous cage wrestler in the GWF, while Wrath held the USWF Heavy Metal title for all but three weeks between 2100 and the end of 2106. The battle between the two superstars was incredible. Both men were bleeding and battered shortly into the match, but neither would quit. Wrath even managed to escape from Wolf’s “Savage Face Claw” at one point, while Wolf likewise survived Wrath’s devastating “Reprisal” finisher. However, after thirteen amazing minutes, a second “Reprisal” finally put the Animan superstar away. After his victory, Wrath called for the ring microphone. “You know I’m not one to make speeches,” he stated, “but I have to say something here. In six years as the USWF cage champion, I had some great matches, but never anything like this. I won tonight, but Wolf, I just gotta say that you’re everything they say you are.” As Wrath finished, Wolf took the microphone. “Nobody hates losing more than I do,” he said. “But, big man, I have to say you’re right: this match was something else. I don’t know if I like you much, but I don’t like anyone much. That doesn’t mean I don’t respect you. You sort of remind me of me a few years ago. We’ll have to do this again some time, but for now, I’ll leave tonight knowing that I got beat in a fair fight by a great wrestler.” Amazingly, the two warriors then shook hands, a gesture almost unheard of for Wolf. They left the ring separately. No alliance was formed, as Wolf normally refuses connections to anyone other than Amazonia. However, the half-Aethran newcomer to the GWF had obviously earned his opponent’s respect, and with Wolf that alone is a victory.
FROZEN FURY UPSETS CPC RISING FOR TAG BELTS On the final card before the beginning of the War Games, in an arena that seldom sees title matches, Frozen Fury stunned CPC Rising by winning the Galaxian tag titles on May 9.
The contest took place at the Phobus Sundome, the smallest arena on Mars. Frozen Fury had won a non-title match against the tag champs a few days earlier, and Commissioners Omega and Morpheus ordered the defense. To make matters worse for the CPC, Bounty Hunter came to the ring as an unexpected guest referee. The match was a classic battle. Buck Steele transformed into Genocide just moments into the match, but the champions did not back away. Genocide landed his “Corpus Genocide” finisher on the Matador, but Colossus came to the ring and kept Bounty Hunter busy long enough to prevent the pin. By the sixteen minute mark, both of the challengers were battered and bloody, with Blizzard having suffered an especially brutal beating. However, the man of ice took the advantage from Janus on the floor and tagged in his partner. One minute later Genocide hit Janus with another “Corpus Genocide.” The Matador tried to prevent the pin, but Bounty Hunter slapped him aside and made the count to give Frozen Fury the titles. CPC Rising’s title reign lasted for six shaky defenses. Both Buck Steele and Blizzard became champions for the first time.
ROSTERS ANNOUNCED AT WAR GAMES PRESS CONFERENCE The annual GWF War Games Press Conference was held on May 3, 2107 in the Deimos Intergalactic Arena Media Center. As he has for the past five years, Qualitar served as the Master of Ceremonies. Team representatives seated on the Media Center stage were Star Warrior, Thantos, Massacre, Vertigo, Lord Nexus, Johnny Rocket, Darkos, Nefarus, Vengeance, and Doomsayer. Commissioners Omega and Morpheus were seated in the center of the dais. Qualitar: We’d like to welcome everyone here for the annual War Games Press Conference, at which we will learn the starting rosters for all of the teams. This year the Games will involve two less teams than in the recent past, with only ten groups entered for 2107. The scoring system will be the same as it has always been. The order of presentation by our speakers was drawn at random. Darkos, you were chosen to go first. Darkos: The roster of the Masked Assassins needs no changes. With the Ninja Assassins, Enigma, and Lycosa, we have four of the greatest wrestlers in the federation. If we can just get Manslaughter going, we will walk over everyone. Lord Nexus: You know, you’d better stop badmouthing that kid. Manslaughter is going to throw you through a wall someday if you keep criticizing him. Darkos: That’s none of your business. Manslaughter belongs to me. Lord Nexus: If you say so. It’s a shame, because he has some talent. Rocket: And already things are breaking down into chaos. What do you expect with that wanna-be Qualitar in charge? Lord Nexus: Excuse me, Rocket, but I was saying something here. Rocket: Really? But nothing important, I’m sure. Lord Nexus: You’re never sure of anything. Anyway, I think I’m supposed to speak next. The Titans will not be making any roster changes at this time. Titan Fury, the Titan Flyers, and Ursa Major will be our team for the beginning of the Games. However, I wouldn’t rule out some changes later. Qualitar: Last year Rocket was quiet because he was pouting about the CPC. What a shame it couldn’t last. Vengeance, you’re next. Vengeance: First, I want to say how nice it is not to have that old fossil Krakan here this year. I guess no one even wanted his men. Lord Nexus: Vengeance, I think this is the first time I’ve ever agreed with you. Vengeance: Do I care? Your opinion means nothing. But to move on, the Gladiators of Aethra, including Malice, myself, Thunder, and Overkill, will welcome two new members for the Games. As a tag team and as singles wrestlers, they have the aggressive attitude we want. The Gladiators will be joined for the War Games by Splatter and Vyper. Qualitar: Nefarus, you’re up. Nefarus: I’m here to represent the Colonizer team. For the War Games, we will be adding two men who will help us to capture the War Games Rings again. I speak of Anarchy and Blazing Skull. Both will still be managed by Maleph. Vertigo: That’s sinking pretty low, teaming up with that scum. But then, scum for scum. Qualitar: We’d better move on. Rocket, you’re next. Try to be brief. Rocket: Thanks, Fish-face. I still say these things were better organized when I ran them. But right now, I have more important things on my mind. While Omega and Morpheus play around in the courts to stop the CPC, we’re still fighting them in the ring. The Rocket Men will again team up this year with Chaos and Heracles. As it did last year, the team will consist of those two superstars, Skinhead, Brainstorm, and X-Termination. We have enough strength with our six men to dominate these Games this year. Thantos: Dream on, Rocket. You failed last year, and you’ll fail again. You can’t match Penthouse Suite. Qualitar: Speaking of Penthouse Suite, Thantos, it’s your turn. Rocket: Yeah, you big has-been. Give us your best shot. Thantos: You can’t handle our best shot, Rocket. That’s always been your problem. But our roster will again consist of Paragon, who is still the rightful GWF Champion, Terminus, Colossus, Prodigy, and CPC Rising. Rocket: Rightful champion? Are you serious? He’s never won a belt here in his life. Thantos: You’re still crying about the fact that he used you to get to the GWF and dumped you. Get over it. Paragon won the Galaxian title last year, and it was unfairly taken away from him. Star Warrior: The CPC tried to hand him the title, and it was a farce that the GWF didn’t accept. Come back to reality, Thantos. Rocket: Finally, someone else speaks up. I felt so alone . . . Qualitar: I’m sure it’s a familiar feeling . . . Star Warrior: Don’t worry, Rocket. I’ve been fighting Thantos longer than you’ve been around, and the Champions will keep fighting Penthouse Suite, too. We still have Pegasus, as well as the Star Patrol, Kati, and Jack of Diamonds. We’re the two-time defending champions. We plan to make it three. Nefarus: Pegasus is a two-time defending champion. The rest of your team has changed. Even your coward brother ran away because he knew that the Champions were through. Star Warrior: Alpha did not run away. He’ll be back. Count on it. Vertigo: I respect Alpha Force, but I have to admit that Nefarus is an expert on cowards. His whole team is full of cowards and traitors. And now that he has those two creeps from Brymstone, he’s added psychotics to the list. But Genesis was ready for that announcement. In addition to Max Shield, Wraith, and Frozen Fury, we have reached an agreement with Archon and Pulsar to join us to take on Blazing Skull and Anarchy. Nefarus: What? How did you know who was joining us? Vertigo: Maybe you have a security leak, Nefarus. Or maybe you’re just very predictable. Qualitar: Okay, it’s time to move along . . . Rocket: It’s time for you to retire. Qualitar: Ahem. Doomsayer, it’s your turn. Doomsayer: I’ve been listening to this arguing, and it makes me laugh. With U. S. Patriot, Monad, Halcón Oro, and Desolation Factor, my Executive Order team will make the rest of this drivel meaningless. And to be sure, we have brought in an addition from the USWF, a man who already has a GWF War Games ring as a member of the Defenders of the Galaxy two years ago: Stargazer. Star Warrior: When he won that War Games ring with us, Stargazer was a different person. Now he’s as much of a turncoat as the rest of your men. We look forward to dealing with him. Qualitar: Massacre, you’re the only one left. What do you have? Massacre: We have a loaded roster. The Aethran Resistance Movement, including Spike, Dreggs, Predator, and Wrath, has added two members for the War Games. The first was sent to us from the USWF, but all of you know him well: the Singer of Tales. And our final member joined us to get another shot at the Gladiator team: Wolf is going to be on our side. Get ready, Vengeance. He’s coming for you. Qualitar: That’s everyone, and I want to end this before Rocket speaks again. The Games will begin with the tournaments to name the War Games singles and tag team champions on May 12 and 13. We’ll see everyone there.
USWF REPORT
FAMILIAR FACE ROCKS CPC ON MAXUS A USWF card at the Maxus Trinity Towers on April 4, 2107 ended with the surprising return of a figure well-known to wrestling fans and left the Colby/Pelf Corporation in a state of anger and confusion. The card was a major event, with Armageddon receiving the tag team title shot that they earned by winning the Star Challenge Tournament in March. However, just four days before the card, the team of Alien Assault, Salitar Palgin and Caldiron Torsir, stunned Conrad Chase and Shaun Styles to take the tag belts away from the CPC at the Castor Twin Towers. The title contest was an excellent battle, with Torsir finally making Styles submit to the “Thralix Twister” to claim the win. USWF Commissioner Grogan ordered the alien team to make their first title defense on the Maxus card, honoring the previous contractual obligation to Armageddon. Alien Assault controlled the early part of the match, holding Carnage in the ring for the first five minutes, but then Slaughterhouse tagged in and almost immediately blasted Torsir with a power bomb to claim the win and make Armageddon the USWF tag team champions for the first time since 2104. The card on Maxus also featured several other excellent contests, including Dagger Mack beating Lycanthrope in a Shandor Street Fight, Mayhem destroying Venom in a Leather Strap Match, and Bishop Hell overcoming Blazing Skull, who was under suspension from the GWF, in a wild Titan Death match. The main event for the card pitted USWF Heavyweight Champion Pathfinder against three-time former champ Maccavity, who had upset Pathfinder by disqualification in a non-title match a week earlier. The champion won the match with a “Ceres Crunch,” but after the bell his “Primary Colors” teammates Theater of Pain and Mayhem came to the ring to help Pathfinder in an attempt to inflict more damage on his victim. Cougar Claw, Silverfang, and Daniel Streamline tried to come to Maccavity’s defense but were held off at the back of the arena by other members of the CPC. Suddenly, as the audience erupted with cheers, an unexpected interloper leapt out of the crowd and into the ring. The newcomer grabbed a metal chair and blasted Tragedy and Comedy. Then he dropkicked Mayhem over the top rope, and flattened Pathfinder with a clothesline. The CPC forces stood outside the ring, looking up at the unexpected foe who had single handedly stopped their attack: former W. A. R. star and six-time former GWF Heavyweight Champion Raven. Pathfinder and his troops began another rush of the ring, but by that time Toltecas, Canadian Bomber, Black Hawk, Crazy Horse, and Commander Sam had broken through the CPC troops and stood beside Raven. Seeing their advantage disappear, the Primary Colors team backed angrily away. As they left, Raven called for a microphone. “Stay where you are, Pathfinder,” the unexpected newcomer demanded. “I’ve got something to say. I’ve been watching what you’ve been doing. I saw you take out Marlicus because you knew you couldn’t beat him, and tonight you were going to put Maccavity out. You’ve done it over and over, and so have all of your friends on Colby’s payroll. I’m sick of it. Up until tonight, I thought I was ready to retire, but not while people like you are around. I’m coming back, and I’m coming for you.” Commander Sam reached out and took the microphone. “Raven, I’m happy to see you,” he said. “We’ve known each other for a long time, but we never really worked together. How about now? My team could use you. You’ll need backup. Do you want to join the Star Defenders?” Raven considered for a few seconds. “I respect you, Sam,” he replied. “And I know Black Hawk and the Bomber. Alright, let’s give it a try.” Raven and the Star Defenders helped Maccavity to his feet and left the ring together. Commissioner Grogan initially attempted to deny Raven a contract, but the former W. A. R. member pointed out that he still had an existing GWF/USWF contract that had not expired. The commissioner was left with no option but to accept the arrival of a powerful new enemy for the CPC forces.
ANOTHER NEW PURCHASE FOR CPC The Colby/Pelf Corporation added a surprising new member after an unexpected turn of events at the Regulus Civic Stadium on April 28. The incident took place during a tag team match pitting Stormfront against the new CPC duo of Kobe Power. Hurricane and Skyfire, who hold the GWF record for longest reign as interplanetary tag team champions, have struggled since joining the USWF as members of Krakan’s Agents of Fortune. Despite their difficulties, however, no one expected what took place on Regulus. The tag contest was a heated battle for its first five minutes, with Hurricane spending most of the time in the ring for Stormfront. Then, after a short verbal exchange with Kobe Power manager Silver Ace, Skyfire dropped down off the ring apron and walked away, leaving his partner alone with the CPC newcomers. Hurricane fought gamely, but he was eventually pinned in what had turned into a handicap match. Later that night, Skyfire spoke to the media. “It was nothing personal against Hurricane,” he said. “I got an offer, and I took it. It was a business deal. The CPC needs someone to challenge for the cruiserweight belt, and I’m it. Me and Hurricane were going nowhere lately. We need a break. This is my chance, and I’m taking advantage of it.” Dagger Mack, the leader of the Agents of Fortune, did not see the issue so simply. “Skyfire sold out,” he stated. “I thought he had more guts than this. Ain’t nobody on this team a saint. We may be as rotten as they come. But nobody sells out on Krakan. Skyfire’s gonna have to answer for this somewhere down the road.” On the same card, another ugly incident took place in a match between Bishop Hell and Blazing Skull, who was fighting in the USWF during a GWF suspension. The two men had battled several times, as the Bishop was apparently still bitter at the way their partnership in the GWF had ended with Hell’s permanent exile. The card on Regulus was to be Skull’s last appearance before returning to the GWF.
Midway through the match, as it had against so many other wrestlers, including Bishop Hell’s bodyguard the Priest of Pain, Skull’s head erupted in flames and badly burned his one-time tag-team partner. The Bishop was expected to be on the sideline for several weeks.
GWWF REPORT
NEW WOMEN’S FEDERATION RUMORED Although the Colby/Pelf Corporation maintains its hold on both GWWF belts, growing discontent over the decisions of Commissioner Zachary Carter has caused speculation that Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf will create a second women’s league, perhaps affiliated with the USWF.
“It’s not out of the question,” Colby answered when asked about the rumors. “Our wrestlers do not get fair treatment here. Everything Carter does is designed to take the belts away from us. We’re getting tired of it. I’ll admit that I have had some conversations with Commissioner Grogan of the USWF about a women’s division there. If things keep on the way they have been going, we may be left with no other choice.”
Commissioner Carter responded calmly to the situation. “I’d hate to see it happen,” he stated, “because obviously such an arrangement would break the ties we’ve always had with USWF cards. But I can’t control Colby or Grogan. No one else here is complaining about my decisions. Colby doesn’t want fair treatment; he wants preferential treatment. If he can’t get it here, then I wouldn’t be surprised to see him try to start his own league.”

GWF 2107 Highlights
From WPU 10.4
DEEP SPACE SHOWCASE 2107 The GWF began the Deep Space Showcase in 2096 as traveling supercard that takes place in a different location each year. The 2107 card was held at the Charon Ice Castle of Pluto on June 10. The main event for this year’s Showcase was a title match between Galaxian Heavyweight Champion Chaos and Malice. Other championship matches included GWF Tag Team Champs Frozen Fury defending against the Star Patrol, Terminus putting up the interplanetary belt against Kati, Interplanetary Tag Champs X-Termination facing Rebel Empire, and Skinhead defending the cruiserweight belt against Halcón Oro.
Deep Space Showcase Highlights The Hunters of Prey defeated the Mercenaries The Centaurians beat the Awesome Studs when Talisman pinned Vanity Prodigy topped Ursa Major in a Lepus Stun Rod Match The Draconian Sheik knocked out Predator with a foreign object in a Titan Death Match Titan Fury overcame the Lower World Halcón Oro defeated Cruiserweight Champion Skinhead by disqualification Dark Justice blasted Colossus with a “Rod of Justice” in the ring in a Shandor Street Fight Thunder and Overkill defeated CPC Rising when Thunder pinned the Matador Heracles pounded Jack of Diamonds in a Leather Strap Match Terminus retained the interplanetary title by pinning Kati with a backward head slam U. S. Patriot lost to Pegasus by disqualification when the CPC interfered Rebel Empire topped X-Termination to claim the interplanetary tag team titles Wrath came back from a tremendous beating to defeat Vengeance in a Torture Chamber Paragon downed Wolf with the “Final Overture” in a match with Massif as the referee The Star Patrol defeated Galaxian Tag Team Champions Frozen Fury by DQ Chaos squeezed out Malice with a “Bow of Defeat” to retain the Galaxian heavyweight title
Deep Space Showcase Wrap-Up This year’s Showcase featured a lot of blood and some great matches. The most brutal of all was Heracles’ Leather Strap Match win over Jack of Diamonds. The contest was completely one-sided, with Jack suffering a horrible beating before he was finally carried from the ring. He is expected to miss three weeks of action.
One of the most dramatic wins of the day was Wrath’s victory in the torture chamber against Vengeance. The Aethran maniac controlled much of the match and repeatedly applied his “eye cleaver,” but the bloodied Wrath struggled back and finally won the contest with a devastating “Reprisal” into the bars of the torture chamber to knock Vengeance out.
Some controversy once again surrounded Massif in Paragon’s win over Wolf. The Animan star had Paragon in his “Savage Face Claw” and seemed to have the match won, but Massif was distracted by Thantos. Paragon managed to break the hold and then land his “Final Overture” for the win.
“I understand everyone’s feelings,” Massif said later. “I know what I did before. But I’m not the first referee who has ever been distracted during a match. I made a mistake. Maybe I’ve made a lot of them lately. But I am not on Colby’s payroll again, and I never will be.”
Johnny Rocket, still angry over Massif’s actions at Cosmic Mayhem earlier in the year, was unconvinced. “I don’t know how Wolf feels,” Rocket stated. “Maybe he’s willing to accept these lame excuses. But I’m not. If Morpheus and Omega want to let Massif continue this way, fine, but I do not want him involved in any of my men’s matches.”
DESOLATION FACTOR CAPTURES GWF TAG TEAM GOLD Doomsayer’s devastating new tag team of Desolation Factor lived up to all expectations by claiming the GWF tag team titles with a victory over Frozen Fury at the Andromeda Nebula Pavilion on June 19.
The Star Patrol had been next in line for a shot at Frozen Fury after their DQ win over the tag champs at the Deep Space Showcase. However, on June 15 at the Gemma Golden Crown Arena, Desolation Factor destroyed the Star Patrol in such a convincing victory that Commissioners Omega and Morpheus awarded the title shot to the big men from Dimension X.
The title match was a tremendous battle. Buck Steele did not transform into Genocide, but he and Blizzard nevertheless pounded the challengers for nine tough minutes, with Ruin taking a tremendous beating. However, Rack finally managed to tag in, and in the end Steele was crushed by a “Racked and Ruined” to give Desolation Factor the belts.
“Of course we’re disappointed,” said Genesis manager Vertigo after the card. “But I think we proved something, too. Last year Buck missed several months with a broken leg, and Frozen Fury won just six matches all year. In 2107 they’ve been the champs already. We fought well tonight. We may have lost the titles, but no one can doubt that Frozen Fury is for real anymore.”
GWF INTERVIEW: THE MASKED ASSASSINS The Masked Assassin team was begun by Darkos in 2089. The group has featured members such as Whiplash, Splatter, Death Masque, Pit Viper, and Vyper, as well as Darkos himself. The current roster includes Manslaughter, the Ninja Assassins, Lycosa, and Enigma. These men, along with their manager Darkos, recently granted the following interview to Qualitar. Qualitar: Finally, after all of these years, we have the Masked Assassins in for an interview. Some might say this is overdue. Darkos: Considering that WPU has been around for ten years and has never wanted us before, I’d say so. But that’s typical of the lack of respect we get. Qualitar: Lack of respect? What do you mean? Darkos: Just what I said. Everyone makes a big deal out of the Gladiators and the Champions and the CPC. But we stand toe-to-toe with all of them. We’re just not pretty enough to be on the front page. Qualitar: Well, with men like Enigma and Lycosa, you’re certainly flashy enough. Enigma: That’s right. We’re flashy, and we’re good. We’re the best high-flyers around. No one can deny that. Lycosa: Yeah. All of these slow-moving musclemen—no offense, Manslaughter (laugh)—can’t keep up with us. Qualitar: Lycosa, you and Manslaughter seem to have some tension between you. I noticed that at the press conference that began this year. Lycosa: Tension? Not us. We’re buddies. I just want to see everybody pull his own weight—and Manslaughter has a little too much weight. Darkos: Okay, Lycosa, that’s enough for now. Qualitar: Manslaughter, do you have a response for Lycosa? Manslaughter: Yeah, but you wouldn’t be able to print it. Qualitar: Okay, let’s move on to the Ninjas. You guys set the record for most career tag team losses last year. How does that feel? Daemon: Maybe Johnny Rocket has been right all the time—someone should have slapped you years ago, fish-face. Hydrax: All that record proves is that we’ve been around for a long time. You notice that Wolf has the records for both career wins and losses. And we’re about fourth from the top in wins, too. Qualitar: Okay, good point. But this year has been tough for you with the injury to Hydrax. Daemon: Of course it has. But we’re back now. We’re in the War Games, and the other guys did a great job of keeping us in it until we could get back. Now we’re ready to make our move. Lycosa: If everyone pulls his own weight . . . Darkos: Daemon is right. We’ve always been competitive in the War Games, but we’ve never won them. This is our year. We have the best tag team in the GWF finally ready to return to action. We have the greatest cruiserweight stars in Lycosa and Enigma. And we have Manslaughter. We’re on the move. Qualitar: I notice that you did not describe Manslaughter with the same superlatives as the others Darkos: Are you trying to cause trouble? Manslaughter knows his role on this team. If he carries his load, we can win these Games. He just needs to start living up to his potential. Lycosa: Instead of living down to it. Qualitar: Manslaughter, you seem to be taking a lot of abuse from Lycosa. Are you sure you don’t have a response? Manslaughter: I don’t do a lot of talking. I’ll do my talking in the ring. Like Darkos said, I know where I stand in this group. I hope none of these guys thinks that I don’t . I know what they think of me, especially Lycosa. My day will come, and then he’d better just remember everything he’s said. I’m sure not gonna forget it.
USWF REPORT
CPC BRINGS IN CHALLENGE FOR RAVEN The Colby/Pelf Corporation, furious over the arrival of Raven in the USWF, made a special challenge to the former GWF champion at the Vega Palladium on May 15, just four days before the Andromeda Explosion Supercard.
Immediately before the first match on the card, USWF Heavyweight Champion Pathfinder of Ceres made his way to the ring with his manager, Shadowmaster, and demanded that Raven come out from the dressing room. When the newcomer to the USWF appeared, Pathfinder made the following statement:
“Raven, you came in here claiming that you were gonna put a stop to the CPC and take my belt. Well, even though you’re nothing but a washed up wanna-be, we decided to give you a chance. You and me are gonna fight in the main event tonight. If you can pin me, I’ll give you a title shot at the supercard in four days. We’re gonna show you that you’re not wanted here and that you’re not good enough to win my belt—if you got the guts.”
Raven immediately met the challenge, and the Palladium crowd looked forward to the match all evening. When the time for the non-title battle finally came, Pathfinder walked to the ring with not just Shadowmaster, but with a huge figure in a heavy cloak and whose face was covered by a mask. Raven took early control of the match, but after just four minutes, when Raven had landed a “Bladerunner,” the huge stranger jumped up onto the ring apron and blatantly smashed Raven with a wooden club that he had produced from under his cloak, causing the disqualification.
Other members of the CPC surrounded the ring and held off anyone who tried to assist Raven as Pathfinder and the big masked man stomped the fallen challenger into the mat. Then, with Raven bloodied and bleary-eyed, the big man stood over him and removed his mask, drawing a gasp from the fans.
Stunned, Raven looked up into the face of a man who had been his friend and teammate for years but who had obviously sold his services to the CPC: Mace, the eleven-time GWF tag team champion and founding member of the superteam W. A. R.
The CPC exited the ring in celebration, leaving Raven injured and amazed. However, the evening had not ended before the following challenge was made from the Star Defenders’ locker room by Commander Sam:
“What Mace did tonight was more cowardly and disgusting than I ever would have thought him capable of. But we’re not going to take this lying down. Raven did not pin Pathfinder, which was obviously the CPC plan from the beginning, so Raven does not get his title shot now. But if Pathfinder and the new CPC thug Mace have the guts, Raven and Black Hawk will fight them in a Titan Death Match in the main event at the Andromeda Explosion. There won’t be any titles on the line. They’ll just beat on each other, and we’ll see if Pathfinder and Mace are as tough when they don’t have Raven outnumbered.” Pathfinder and Mace immediately accepted the challenge.
ANDROMEDA EXPLOSION 2107 The fourth Andromeda Explosion supercard took place on May 19, 2107 at the Andromeda Nebula Pavilion. The USWF created the Explosion in 2104 to replace the USWF’s original supercard, the Europa Eruption. Once again this year the event was attended by a sellout crowd of 47, 915.
Andromeda Explosion 2107 Highlights Vulcan defeated the Unknown Soldier by disqualification Charon pinned Witherspoon with a “Mythic Dive”; Maccavity nailed Conrad Chase with a “Grand Theft” Toltecas hit Crow with a “Tequila Shot” to win the cruiserweight belt Nightmare of Aethra pounded Father Steel to win the heavy metal title Daniel Streamline beat Shaun Styles in a Cygnus Adamantium Fists Match Bishop Hell burned Dagger Mack with a Hellfire in the ring in a Shandor Street Fight Interstellar Champion Marikel Magnifique and Lycanthrope fought to a double DQ Theater of Pain downed Imperial Bounty in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Homicide outlasted Mayhem to survive an incredible Four Weapons of Destruction Match Armageddon held on to the USWF tag team titles against Kobe Power In the tag team main event pitting Pathfinder and Mace against Raven and Black Hawk, Pathfinder scored the pin after nailing Raven with a “Ceres Crunch.”
Andromeda Explosion Notes The supercard produced plenty of excitement. The main event was a tough fight, but Pathfinder and Mace managed to keep Raven in the ring most of the time and eventually wore him down to score the win. Armageddon overcame all odds, including the bias of USWF Head Referee Scourge, by knocking out Shouji Kanemura and leaving Scourge no choice but to make his count and declare them the winners.
LYCANTHROPE TAKES INTERSTELLAR TITLE FROM MARIKEL The CPC’s stranglehold on the USWF’s top singles titles ended at the Alpha Centauri Colonnade on June 7 when Lycanthrope defeated Marikel Magnifique to claim the interstellar championship.
Lycanthrope had dominated Marikel in a series of recent matches, and as a result he was repeatedly denied title shots. When the son of Wolf went into a recent slump, the CPC decided that the time was right to answer his challenge. However, Lycanthrope rebounded for the title contest, controlling the action from the opening bell and finally pinning Marikel with “The Howling” despite interference by the CPC and an obviously slow count by USWF Head Referee Scourge.
Marikel’s title reign ended after eleven successful defenses and more than three months. Lycanthrope becomes the interstellar champion for the second time, having also held the belt for over four months in 2106.
KOBE POWER BRINGS TAG BELTS BACK TO CPC After several unsuccessful attempts, the rookie tag team of Kobe Power finally managed to defeat Armageddon to claim the USWF tag team titles with the help of USWF Head Referee Scourge. Armageddon appeared to have again defended the belts successfully at the seven minute mark when the massive Shiryu went down to an “Armageddon” finisher. However, an obviously slow count by Scourge allowed Shiryu to kick out and make the tag. Shouji Kanemura almost immediately blasted Carnage with an illegal object and then made the cover to score the win.
Armageddon’s second reign as tag champs lasted for eleven strong defenses. After the card, the former champions and their manager Thakur were furious over Scourge’s actions, but Commissioner Grogan refused to hear their complaints.
RAVEN MAKES HIS CHALLENGE Clearly frustrated with Pathfinder’s unwillingness to grant him a title shot, Raven made a bold challenge after his match on a card at the Triton Pavilion on June 29.
Raven had just defeated Mace by disqualification due to Mantric’s interference. The former GWF champion then called for the ring microphone and demanded that Pathfinder enter the arena. When the USWF heavyweight champion appeared at the top of the runway, accompanied by Shadowmaster and Marikel, Raven made the following statement:
“I’m sick of your games, you big coward. I’ve beaten everyone you’ve thrown at me. I beat Mayhem. I beat Mantric. I beat Stargazer. I beat Mace. I even beat Blazing Skull, who I know you paid off to try to take me out. And I’ve beaten you three times. But you still don’t want to give me a shot at the title, so I guess I have to raise the stakes.
“Do you want to be rid of me?” Raven continued. “Well, in a couple of weeks we have a supercard coming up at the Victory Garden. I say you give me my title shot there. We make it a Titan Death match. No one comes down and interferes. You can even have Scourge as your referee. The winner gets the belt. The loser leaves the USWF for the rest of this year. Do you have the guts, Pathfinder? Or are you the coward I think you are? Do you accept?” Pathfinder whispered briefly with Shadowmaster, but before he could speak Marikel, the leader of the CPC forces in the USWF, responded.
“We accept,” Marikel declared. “You just signed your own death warrant. After the Victory Garden, we’ll be rid of your for good.”
Pathfinder looked stunned and angry at the announcement, but walked back into the dressing room area with Marikel without comment. Raven will therefore finally receive his title shot at the Interstellar Rumble on July 9.
GWWF REPORT
WRESTLERS VOICE REACTION TO RUMORED NEW LEAGUE The rumors regarding the creation of a new women’s league in association with the USWF have grown stronger in recent weeks. Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf have held two closed-door meetings with the USWF Board of Directors, with the apparent topic of being a USWF women’s division. The talk of a new league has generated comments from several current GWWF stars. Some of the reactions have been as follows:
Supernova: “I think it would be a shame. We all worked so hard to get this league together. We’ve been growing in size and in popularity. I’d hate to see it torn in half now.”
Velar: “I’m for it all the way. The CPC never gets a fair shake here. Maybe Commissioner Grogan would treat us better.”
Celestia: “I’d rather keep the whole league together, but I’ll go where my husband goes. If the league splits, and Stargazer is in the USWF, that’s where I’ll be.”
Ms. Liberty: “I have other things to worry about that are more important than this—like my marriage falling apart.”
Lady Pain: “I do most of my wrestling on USWF cards anyway. I think breaking up the league would be a mistake, but if it happens, I’ll take a look at the situation and decide where the best place for me is.”
Thrash: “What a bunch of cowards. The CPC women can’t handle the competition here, so they’re gonna turn tail and run. Good riddance. I’ll still have Amazonia to beat on.”
Angel: “If it gets me away from Supernova and her bunch of trampy friends, I’m all for it.”
Anaxis: “I know nothing about this. I’ve heard the rumors, but that’s all. I’m against it. Cassandra and I are the tag team champions, and we have dominated this federation. All I can tell you is that I do not plan on going anywhere.”
Amazonia: “We’ve been fighting for respect for years in the GWF, and now the USWF. We should be doing it together, as a group. But on the other hand, the CPC’s way of doing things doesn’t gain us a lot of respect anyway. Whatever happens, I’ll be staying here where we belong.”

GWF 2107 Highlights
From WPU 10.5
KRAKAN DUMPS THE MERCENARIES One of the GWF’s longest standing associations came to an end on July 6, 2107 when Krakan called a press conference to break his ties with the Mercenaries. On the previous night at the Maxus Trinity Towers, the Mercenaries had challenged Rebel Empire for the interplanetary tag team titles but were defeated when Nefarus pinned Soldier of Fortune. Krakan did not attend the match, instead choosing to accompany Dark Justice to a card at the Astral Gardens of Formalhaut. At the press conference the next morning, Krakan appeared without his neck brace for the first time in nearly two years. He immediately made his intentions clear. “I called you all here to tell you that the Mercenaries have outlived their usefulness,” the manager stated. “Once they were the most dominant tag team ever. Now they are washed up, as you all saw when they lost last night. After that match, I decided that I’m better off focusing my efforts on managing Dark Justice now. “You can also see that I’ve thrown away my neck brace,” Krakan continued. “The doctors have finally given me complete health clearance. The damage that the Terrorists and the Aethrans did to me in 2105 is healed. That has also affected my decision regarding the Mercenaries. It’s a new day for the Deadly Militia. I intend to start rebuilding the team soon. “For this year, Dark Justice and I will be going it alone. However, for now we will have some teammates. I heard what Lord Nexus and Vengeance said about me at the War Games press conference. Well, surprise, you fools: I’m back. Dark Justice and I will be joining my old friend Darkos and the Masked Assassin team for the remainder of the War Games. It’s not time to rebuild the Militia yet, but it is time to get back into the center of the action, and the War Games are where it’s at.” The Mercenaries expressed anger and disappointment at Krakan’s decision. “We’re legends in this damned federation,” Soldier of Fortune complained. “We’ve been doing fine all year. We almost won the IP tag belts the other night. I don’t know what Krakan is thinking. He has too many enemies to think that Dark Justice alone can watch his back. I’ll bet he’s back in the neck brace soon.” “This is an insult,” Vigilante declared. “It’s a pretty cheap way to end things between us and Krakan. He may be right, in a way. Me and Soldier ain’t what we used to be. I can see the end coming for both of us. But I think Krakan could have shown a little more class in how he did this. We deserved better treatment after all we did for him.”
SHIELD REGAINS INTERPLANETARY TITLE Max Shield reclaimed the interplanetary championship that he had lost to Terminus two months earlier by defeating the CPC star at the Astral Gardens of Formalhaut on July 5. Terminus dominated most of the match, pounding the challenger all over the ring and on the arena floor. Three times the big alien from Ara landed his “Hammerlock Slam” finisher, and three times Shield kicked out. Finally Terminus became frustrated and made a mistake on the floor, and Shield took advantage to connect with a “Genesis Rocket Launcher” and get a quick roll-up for the pin. The third interplanetary title reign of Terminus lasted for exactly two months and included seven successful defenses. Shield begins his fifth stint as IP champion and third in the past year.
LYCOSA SURPRISES SKINHEAD TO WIN CRUISERWEIGHT BELT In a major upset, Lycosa pinned Skinhead to win the GWF cruiserweight title in a match at the Dragon’s Lair on July 12. Lycosa had been one of the hottest stars in the GWF recently, but he was nevertheless a huge underdog to three-time cruiserweight champion Skinhead. However, after absorbing punishment for the first three minutes of the match, Lycosa recovered and stunned the champion with a quick pin to score the upset. “I told everyone,” Lycosa bragged after the match. “I said I’d do it. I said I was the best high-flyer around. Now the Assassins are going somewhere. This win should give me and the team the respect we deserve.”
SHEIK CLAIMS INTERPLANETARY TITLE IN UPSET WIN Max Shield’s most recent interplanetary championship reign ended after just over three weeks when he was upset for the belt by the Draconian Sheik at the Northern Cross Auditorium of Cygnus on July 27. Shield, who had been dominant in recent weeks, was a heavy favorite over the Sheik. However, just moments into the match the Draconian wildman nailed the champion with a foreign object and knocked him from his feet. The Sheik then applied the “Draconian Backbreaker” for over a minute. Shield struggled valiantly against the submission hold, but finally the referee stopped the match and awarded the Sheik the title. The win gives the Draconian Sheik his second reign as interplanetary champion. His first stint with the belt happened in 2099 and lasted for six successful defenses. The Sheik also held the USWF’s interstellar belt in 2101.
STARCLASH XXI The GWF held its twenty-first Starclash supercard at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena on August 13, 2107. Starclash is the federation’s oldest supercard and takes place annually in mid-summer on Deimos. The event has often featured tributes to retiring superstars as well as major announcements and surprises.
Starclash XXI Highlights Talon won by disqualification over Splatter when Splatter used Arsenal Blade defeated Death’s Head by disqualification Ursa Major pinned Hammer with a dropkick off the turnbuckle Titan Fury beat the Mercenaries when Rising Sun pinned Soldier of Fortune Prodigy used the “Perfect Singles Finisher” on Lycosa to win the GWF cruiserweight championship Colossus downed Vyper in a cage match with the “Vyper’s Sideshow” U. S. Patriot drilled Dreggs with “Adam’s Atomic Blast” with Massif as the referee. Wrath and Predator won the War Games tag team titles by defeating CPC Rising Vengeance hammered Spike to retain the War Games singles title Frozen Fury and Pulsar got by Heracles, Skinhead, and Brainstorm in a three-man elimination match. Blazing Skull burned Archon with a “Death By Fire” in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Pegasus pounded Pathfinder with a “Project Pegasus” in a Dog Collar Chain Match Rebel Empire outdueled X-Termination with Bounty Hunter as the referee Terminus blasted the Draconian Sheik with a “Hammerlock Slam” to win the interplanetary title Malice downed Dark Justice in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match Anarchy defeated Wolf in the first ever Total Anarchy Match when Wolf stepped on a mine Thunder and Overkill dominated Desolation Factor to win the GWF tag team belts Chaos squeezed out an already injured Mandrill to retain the Galaxian heavyweight championship.
Starclash XXI Wrap-up The supercard was a terrific event, with many great matches and three major title changes. Terminus did not seem at all slowed by his injury in defeating the Draconian Sheik for the interplanetary belt, while Thunder and Overkill did not miss a step in their most dominating performance to date against their new rivals Desolation Factor. While many of the matches were great contests, two deserve special mention. In the War Games tag team title contest, the Matador began the match with a dropkick, but Wrath sidestepped him and then knocked the Matador unconscious with one “Predator Punch.” The move was perhaps the most devastating single blow seen in the GWF in years. The best all-around match on the card was the tag contest between Rebel Empire and X-Termination, which may have been the best match of the entire year to date. The battle lasted for twenty-five minutes, with all four combatants ending up bloodied and both Vendetta and Sleeze suffering injuries, but neither team would quit. When Nefarus finally pinned Grunge with a “Genesis Rocket Launcher,” all four wrestlers were completely spent and near collapse.
Overall the card was exciting but violent. By the end of the night, the list of wrestlers who had suffered injuries was staggering: Painmaster, Lycosa, Hydrax, Vengeance, Archon, Vendetta, Sleeze, Malice, Dark Justice, and Wolf.
USWF REPORT
IMPERIAL POWERS BRING BACK ANCIENT TERROR CPC, AGENTS ALSO MAKE ROSTER CHANGES The Imperial Powers, crippled by the serious injury inflicted on Tarloc by the Colby/Pelf Corporation, announced a major roster change at the Europa Garden on July 6. Tirrion Astri, manager of the Imperial Powers, entered the interview area alone. “We have been put in a difficult situation,” he stated. “We had the best tag team in this federation with Imperial Bounty, but now Tarloc will be out until at least September, so we need to replace him. For now, Tarloc’s partner, Vascor, will wrestle in singles matches. To replace Tarloc, we have brought in a new tag team. They have worked with us in the past, and they are former USWF tag team champions: Pyramid and Sphynx, the team of Ancient Terror!” Astri’s announcement was surprising because Sphynx had not been seen in the USWF since the end of 2106, when Ancient Terror was tricked out of their tag team titles by their CPC teammates and then thrown out of the organization. Pyramid had spent most of 2107 in singles action before disappearing in mid-June. However, the Colby/Pelf Corporation was not to be outdone. On the same night, CPC leader Marikel announced a major reorganization of his forces. “As of right now, the new USWF tag team champions Kobe Power are leaving the Cathedral of Calamity and joining our team, Primary Colors,” he began. “They will team with me, Pathfinder, Mayhem, and Skyfire. Obviously, this means that Theater of Pain is out. They are fired. They are losers, and we want no more to do with them.
“Vulcan will move from the Second Wave to the Cathedral, and the Monastic Rule will go back to being the Cathedral’s main tag team. Vulcan’s spot on the Second Wave’s roster will be filled by our newest recruit: Silverfang.”
This news was perhaps more stunning than that of the Imperial Powers, as Silverfang had betrayed the Untamed Warriors to join Krakan’s Agents of Fortune just six weeks earlier. However, Krakan’s spokesman Dagger Mack quickly responded.
“Silverfang just made a huge mistake,” the captain of the Agents of Fortune declared. “He’s gonna join Skyfire on our hit list. Like I said before, nobody sells out Krakan. But we have a replacement already. I don’t know where Krakan found this guy, but he’ll fit in with us. His name is Greg Valentine, and he will make his debut at the Interstellar Rumble Supercard. Mammoth and the Barbaric Destroyer will become our full-time tag team. But right now, we don’t care much about the War Games. We’re just gonna crush the CPC.”
INTERSTELLAR RUMBLE 2107 The Interstellar Rumble originated as a GWF supercard from 2095 to 2097. The USWF revived the event in 2101 as an annual year-ending card held at the Mimas Spectrum. The Rumble moved to mid-year in 2103, when it was also transferred to the Rhea Forum of Saturn. In 2106 the event changed its home to Earth’s Victory Garden, the USWF’s largest venue. The 2107 Interstellar Rumble was held on July 9 before a USWF record crowd of 105, 206 fans. The main event was perhaps the most anticipated USWF contest ever: Raven’s special challenge to USWF Heavyweight Champion Pathfinder, with the winner taking the title and the loser being banished from the federation for the remainder of 2107.
Interstellar Rumble Highlights Scavenger downed Scorpio with a “Pick the Bones” Vascor pinned Brother Tamor Cougar Claw won by disqualification over Mammoth Ancient Terror overcame Rebellion when Sphynx pinned Scar Daniel Streamline nailed the Barbaric Destroyer in a Castor Chain Match Violator defeated Venom in a Zero Gravity Platform Match Marikel blasted the Unknown Soldier with an “Awestriker” to win the War Games singles title Silverfang, Shawn Styles, and Mace beat Dagger Mack, Hurricane, and Greg Valentine Toltecas retained the cruiserweight belt by pounding Jackal with a “Tequila Shot” The Flatliners held on to the War Games tag team titles by downing the Ivy League Guthlac pinned Bishop Hell in the ring in a Shandor Street Fight Alien Assault upset Crazy Horse and Black Hawk with Billy Jo Boxer as the referee Father Steel used a fast count by special referee Scourge to pin Lycanthrope for the interstellar belt Captain Dalcost nailed Jason the Canadian Bomber with an “Imperial Hammer” Mantric defeated Nightmare in a terrific cage battle to claim the heavy metal belt Kobe Power held on to the USWF tag team titles against Armageddon High Lord Marlicus pinned Homicide in a Tirion Triple Threat Match that also included Mayhem.
The Main Event: USWF Champion Pathfinder of Ceres vs. Raven Pathfinder came out strong in the beginning of his exile/title match with Raven, but the challenger simply would not be denied. After just two minutes Raven took complete control, hammering the champion around the ring while landing three consecutive “Bladerunners.” Each time Pathfinder benefited from the slow count of special referee Scourge and was able to kick out. However, Raven finally landed a “Broadsword” that knocked Pathfinder completely unconscious, leaving Scourge no choice but to count the pin and award Raven the USWF heavyweight title, thus banishing Pathfinder from the federation for the remainder of 2107.
Interstellar Rumble Wrap-up The Interstellar Rumble featured several great matches. Lycanthrope put up a valiant fight despite his injury, but in the end he could not overcome both Father Steel and the referee Scourge. The Heavy Metal title match between Nightmare of Aethra and Mantric was also terrific, as Mantric finally won the belt he has coveted for so long but was unable to claim while Wrath held it. After the card, Pathfinder was furious at his loss. “I was robbed,” the former champion stormed. “This match never should have happened. Raven never deserved this title shot. Now I’m gone for the rest of the year. I hope Mr. Colby plans to do something about this.” Marikel Magnifique, the CPC leader who accepted Raven’s challenge for Pathfinder, was surprisingly calm about the situation. “Pathfinder and Skyfire will go to the GWF,” he stated. “We will add Stargazer and Halcón Oro to our team. Obviously we are sorry to lose a champion of Pathfinder’s ability. We will miss him on our team. He was our in-ring leader, the man who held on to the big prize for us. But we have to go on. I guess now it will be up to me to bring home the title, and I promise I will win it back for the CPC.”
WILD ENDING FOR RAVEN AND MARLICUS AT RHEA FORUM A terrific USWF title match between Raven and High Lord Marlicus came to an unexpected ending at the Rhea Forum on July 22. Marlicus, who had defeated Raven in their first meeting, a non-title match, a few days earlier, dominated most of the contest. Raven fought back gamely, but the High Lord repeatedly took control and seemed to have the match won after he landed his “Divine Conquest” finisher. Suddenly CPC members Marikel, Stargazer, and Mantric stormed the ring and attacked Marlicus, causing the match to be declared no contest. As the CPC trio pounded its victim, Raven recovered and jumped into the fray. He managed to pull the attackers off of Marlicus long enough for the High Lord to recover and flip Mantric out of the ring, while Raven threw Stargazer to the floor. The two combatants then combined to give Marikel a double clothesline that sent him over the top rope. The brawl ended with the CPC forces on the arena floor and Raven and High Lord Marlicus standing side by side in the ring. “I don’t like Marlicus any more than I ever did,” Raven explained later. “He’s a great wrestler, but I have about the same opinion of him that Pegasus does. But when it comes to fighting the CPC, I’ll even watch his back.” Marlicus expressed similar sentiments. “I appreciate Raven helping me tonight,” he stated, “but it doesn’t change anything. He still has a belt that I consider to be mine. Tonight we worked together, but we’ll be back in the ring as opponents soon.” CPC leader Marikel explained the attack on Marlicus by saying, “Raven is wearing a belt that he doesn’t deserve. No one but a member of the CPC is going to take it from him. We want the satisfaction ourselves.” Four days later, the entire issue of the heavyweight title was put on hold. Marlicus was injured and put out of action by Homicide, while Raven injured Marikel and was suspended, thus putting the champion and the two top contenders on the shelf for up to one month.
GWWF REPORT
SURPRISE WINNERS AT QUEEN’S CHALLENGE IV The GWWF held its fourth annual “Queen’s Challenge” supercard at the Mira Galaxy Dome on July 28, 2107. The event is the only independent card currently held by the women’s federation and features tournaments for both tag teams and singles competitors. All matches in both tournaments are fought under Titan Death rules, with the winners receiving automatic shots at the GWWF singles and tag team championships. This year’s event involved major upsets in both tournaments. On the tag team side, the makeshift pairing of Velar and Celestia, despite having combined their forces only twice previously, rolled over three more established teams on their way to victory. The duo upset Leather and Lace in round one, downed the Aethran Amazons in the semi-finals, and stunned Feminine Fury in the finals. Celestia matched Anaxis’ great performance in 2105 by reaching the finals in both tournaments. However, on the singles side she was defeated in the finals by another surprising winner, Black Widow. Black Widow took out Supernova in round one, then upset GWWF Champion Voodoo Queen, and eliminated her own tag team partner Kianyra in the semi-finals to reach the championship.
QUEEN’S CHALLENGE RESULTS Tag Team Tournament Round One The Enchantresses downed Dream Lover and Rhea; Feminine Fury beat Black Widow and Kianyra; Celestia and Velar stunned Leather and Lace; The Aethran Amazons overcame Divinity (White Star and Diva).
Tag Team Tournament Semi-Finals Feminine Fury defeated GWWF Tag Team Champions the Enchantresses when Ms. Liberty pinned Cassandra; Celestia and Velar downed the Aethran Amazons when Celestia pinned the previously injured Devil Woman.
Tag Team Tournament Finals Celestia and Velar won the tournament by besting Feminine Fury when Celestia pinned Ms. Liberty after a wild in-ring brawl.
Special Challenge Match Biker Chick blasted Angel with a “Biker Beating.”
Singles Tournament Round One Voodoo Queen outlasted Ms. Liberty; Black Widow pinned Hysteria, who was replacing the injured Devil Woman; Kianyra stunned Supernova; Lady Pain pounded Anaxis; Thrash hammered Maxine; Celestia overcame Shadow; Kailani beat Velar; Amazonia defeated Tamara.
Singles Tournament Round Two Black Widow upset Voodoo Queen; Kianyra shocked Lady Pain; Celestia outfought Thrash; Kailani slipped past Amazonia.
Singles Tournament Semi-Finals Black Widow downed Kianyra with a “Spider’s Web”; Celestia pinned Kailani with a “Celestial Storm.”
Singles Tournament Finals Black Widow defeated Celestia with an “Arachnoclamp” to win the tournament.
Queen’s Challenge Notes Among the best matches on the supercard were Celestia and Velar’s first round win over Leather and Lace, Voodoo Queen’s tough victory over Ms. Liberty, and Kailani’s battle with Amazonia . . . Both championship matches were good fights . . . Devil Woman was injured by Rhea and Dream Lover a week before the supercard but insisted on participating despite her injuries. She was clearly less than one hundred percent healthy.

GWF 2107 Highlights
From WPU 10.6
GRUNGE OUT AFTER CPC ATTACK Grunge suffered severe injuries and Penthouse Suite saw its War Games hopes damaged on a wild card at the Mizar Solarsphere on September 14. Interplanetary Tag Team Champions X-Termination lost to CPC Rising in a non-title contest, but the real drama took place after the bell. Janus continued to apply the “Gordian Knot” on Grunge while the Matador held off Sleeze. Terminus soon appeared in the ring and began stomping Grunge in the ribs while the victim was still caught in Janus’ hold. When Skinhead finally arrived with a club to drive off the CPC, Grunge was left with four badly cracked ribs and strained knee ligaments. Due to the severity of Grunge’s injuries, Commissioner Morpheus, who was on hand for the card, had little choice but to vacate the interplanetary tag belts and announce that a tournament to fill the titles would begin immediately. Morpheus also slapped the Matador and Janus with one month suspensions. The commissioner hesitated regarding the punishment of Interplanetary Champion Terminus, not wanting to vacate yet another title on the same night. However, the situation solved itself one match later. With Thantos called away to be chastised by Morpheus for his men’s actions, Terminus was forced to defend his belt against the Draconian Sheik without his manager’s assistance. The Sheik took advantage, and with the help of the Terrorists he pinned Terminus to reclaim the interplanetary championship that he had lost to the CPC star one month earlier. As soon as Terminus lost the title, Morpheus handed him a suspension equal to that of CPC Rising.
Thantos protested the suspensions, claiming that they were too severe and that the commissioner was intentionally ruining his team’s War Games chances. “This is just another part of the conspiracy against the CPC,” Thantos fumed. “In a month, the War Games will be as good as over. And for Morpheus to keep me in the back lecturing me while one of my men was defending a title is totally unfair. I am going to appeal to Omega. He’s got as much authority as Morpheus. Let’s see him live up to all of his ideas about fair play and do something to set this right.”
However, Morpheus’ decisions were fully supported by his co-commissioner. “Thantos can complain all he wants,” Omega stated. “His men tried to take out one of their top competitors by injuring Grunge. We’re not going to stand for it. I completely agree with Morpheus’ ruling. Penthouse Suite created this situation. Now they have to suffer the consequences.”
BLAZING SKULL UPSETS IP TAG TOURNAMENT FINAL The Centaurians, riding perhaps their hottest streak ever, reached the finals of the tournament to crown new interplanetary tag team champions by defeating their arch-rivals Anarchy and Blazing Skull in the semi-finals. Frozen Fury became the other finalists with a win over the Star Patrol. The final match of the sixteen team tournament was set for the War Dome Warfare supercard. However, just five days before War Dome Warfare, Blazing Skull upset the championship matchup by severely burning Talisman in a singles match. Blazing Skull was disqualified and suspended, but Talisman was badly injured and was expected to miss over a month of action, eliminating him from participating on the supercard. Commissioners Omega and Morpheus took one day to reach a decision. “This is a very difficult situation,” Omega announced. “However, the most important factor to us is that Blade, who is still healthy, earned a place in this title match. Therefore, we will allow Blade to choose a new partner with whom he will face Frozen Fury for the interplanetary tag team titles at War Dome Warfare.” Blade announced his decision a few hours later. “There’s only one man other than Talisman that I would want as my partner,” he stated. “Archon held the interplanetary tag team belts twice with my brother Crossfire. I know that Archon and I have never been a tag team before, but he has agreed to give this a shot, so he’s the man I’ll choose as my partner.” WAR DOME WARFARE 2107 A SHOCKING BETRAYAL War Dome Warfare was first held in 2099 at the Aethra War Dome. The event took place annually until 2104, when political disputes caused the cancellation of the card for two years. In 2106 the supercard was reinstituted, this time at Aethra’s huge Warrior Village Coliseum. War Dome Warfare 2107 was held on October 4 before a sellout crowd of over 144, 000 fans. The double main event for this year’s card included a title match between Galaxian Champion Chaos and Mandrill in a rematch of the main event from this year’s Starclash supercard. The other big attraction, as always at War Dome Warfare, was an Aethran Ultimate Escape Match with Vengeance, Malice, Thunder, and Overkill facing Wolf, Spike, Predator, and Wrath.
War Dome Warfare 2107 Highlights The Stormtroopers overcame the Mercenaries when Powerhouse pinned Soldier of Fortune Amazonia captured the GWWF championship by defeating Voodoo Queen in a controversial match [see GWWF Report later in this issue] Rebel Empire won by disqualification over the Lower World U. S. Patriot defeated Splatter in a Lepus Stun Rod Match The Masked Assassins defeated the Fighting Titans (Rising Sun, Pulsar, and TitanAttack) in a four man elimination tag match Vyper blasted Dark Justice with a “Vyper’s Sideshow” in the ring in a Shandor Street Fight Archon and Blade downed Frozen Fury to claim the interplanetary tag team titles Painmaster defeated Wraith in a barbed wire cage match Prodigy held on to the cruiserweight title by using the “Perfect Singles Finisher” on Dreggs Anarchy overcame Colossus in a cage match The Draconian Sheik retained the interplanetary title with a countout win over Jack of Diamonds Max Shield pounded Heracles in a Castor Chain Match Pegasus blasted Paragon with a “Project Pegasus” with Massif as the referee. The Main Event Part I: Wolf and Vengeance began the Ultimate Escape Match, with Vengeance giving Wolf a terrible beating in the early going. Vengeance eventually tagged in Malice and then Thunder, but Wolf finally made it to his corner and brought in Spike. From that point on, the Aethran Resistance Movement dominated the Gladiators. Wrath was the first to escape against Thunder, followed by Spike over Vengeance. Malice then made it out of the cage against Predator, who took a beating for several minutes but also wore down Vengeance, allowing Wolf to escape against the Aethran leader. Predator then made it out of the cage himself against Thunder, leaving the Gladiators beaten and humiliated on their home planet. The Main Event Part II: Galaxian Champion Chaos came to the ring with Heracles, who was still visibly suffering from his terrible beating by Max Shield a few matches earlier. Mandrill, as always, was accompanied by Sentry. The challenger took early control of the match, zapping Chaos repeatedly with the Voltaic Stunner. The giant from Dimension X came back, catching Mandrill in the “Bow of Defeat,” but the Prime Colonizer managed to escape. Chaos then nailed Mandrill with a “Galaxy Crusher,” but as he went for the pin Sentry shot a stun blast that knocked Chaos from his feet. As a groggy Mandrill prepared for the “Colonizer Claw Slam,” Sleeze and Skinhead ran from the locker room area to help Heracles defend the champion. To the surprise of everyone in attendance, the interlopers were met by a vicious double clothesline from Heracles, who then watched as Mandrill completed his finishing move and covered Chaos to win the Galaxian title for the fourth time in his career.
War Dome Warfare Wrap-Up The incredible Galaxian title reign of Chaos, which lasted for more than one year and an amazing fifty-two successful defenses, had to end eventually, but no one expected that it would conclude as it did. Although Heracles did not directly interfere in the match, his assault on Skinhead and Sleeze kept them from saving the belt for Chaos and allowed Sentry’s interference to go unanswered.
Heracles disappeared immediately after the card, making no comment as to why he helped Mandrill. The new champion denied any plot with Heracles or any knowledge of Heracles’ motivation, claiming that he had beaten Chaos on his own and had needed no help from anyone. A furious Chaos also left the arena without commenting on the situation.
Vengeance was irate after the Gladiators’ loss in the Ultimate Escape Match. “This was a disgrace,” he snapped to the press. “We lost to two half-breeds, a traitor, and an Animan. We probably blew our last chance to win the War Games. Someone is going to have to suffer for this. Aethrans do not accept embarrassment. When we fail to dominate in one way, we find another.”
Massif played a major role in Pegasus’ win over Paragon. The big referee, who has repeatedly been accused this year of once again favoring the CPC, let almost any infraction go during the match. When Penthouse Suite members Colossus and Prodigy stormed the ring after a “Project Pegasus,” Massif appeared to try to hold them off but did not disqualify Paragon when Prodigy got through and helped the CPC big man regain the advantage. In the end, however, Massif’s patience paid off as Pegasus recovered to score a clean win.
One of the most surprising matches of the day was Max Shield’s win over Heracles in the Castor Chain Match. Shield was absolutely dominant against his larger, stronger opponent and scored his most impressive win in weeks.
WAR GAMES NOW A THREE TEAM RACE The 2107 War Games are drawing to a close, with just three teams holding on to a realistic hope of capturing the rings. Doomsayer’s Executive Order may be in the driver’s seat: while the team currently holds no titles, it remains in first place with 179 points and has all six members healthy. The Citadel of the Elite/Rocket Men team is in second with 171 points, but the injury to Grunge, the unexplained actions of Heracles, and Chaos’ loss of the Galaxian title make their situation very precarious. Penthouse Suite is also not far behind in third place with 169 points, but the suspensions to Terminus and CPC Rising may have taken the CPC’s centerpiece team out of the running.
USWF REPORT
CENTAURUS COLLISION 2107 The Centaurus Collision, held at the Alpha Centauri Colonnade, was originally a GWF supercard, created in 2104 as a temporary replacement for War Dome Warfare. After two years, the Collision was discontinued by the GWF and claimed by the USWF. This year’s card took place on August 31.
Centaurus Collision 2107 Highlights Greg Valentine defeated Vascor by disqualification Guthlac hammered Hurricane with a “Bloodfeud Bash” in a Titan Death match Crow retained the cruiserweight title with a win over Maccavity Rebellion won the War Games tag team titles by defeating the Ivy League Venom battered Gorthanor in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match Halcón Oro upset Toltecas in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Mayhem overcame Ravage in a tough cage match to win the Heavy Metal title Crazy Horse blasted Homicide with a “Renegade’s Revenge” in a cage match Father Steel squeezed Violator with the “Last Rites” to retain the interstellar title The Unknown Soldier dominated Stargazer in a Leather Strap Match Dagger Mack pinned Lycanthrope in the ring in a Shandor Street Fight Kobe Power survived a tough challenge from Ancient Terror to hold on to the USWF tag team titles High Lord Marlicus claimed the USWF heavyweight title for the sixth time by pinning Raven with a “Divine Conquest” in a Tirion Triple Threat Match that also involved Marikel Magnifique.
Centaurus Collision Wrap-Up The heavyweight title match main event was an exciting affair. Both Marikel and Marlicus targeted Raven, who was beaten severely throughout the match but put up a valiant effort. After the bell, CPC forces attacked both Raven and Marlicus as a wild brawl broke out. The heavy metal championship match was also a great battle. Ravage fought gamely, but in the end he could not withstand the power and experience of the renegade Aethran Mayhem.
Ancient Terror gave Kobe Power a terrific fight for the tag team belts. The champions were on their heels for most of the match, and they were saved largely by the biased refereeing of Scourge.
Before the night was even over, however, troubles began to surface in the CPC camp. Marikel, furious over his loss, called for another title shot, but before he could finish speaking to reporters Mantric stepped forward and demanded his turn. Likewise, Mace quickly declared himself the top contender to new Heavy Metal Champion Mayhem. Although Marikel and Mantric are on separate CPC teams, as are Mace and Mayhem, their disputes over title shots may indicate some cracks in the unity of Colby’s forces.
QUEEN’S COMMENTARY “Queen’s Commentary” features the observations of former GWF star and now USWF color commentator Killer Queen. “On the surface, Magnus Colby’s takeover of the USWF seems to be progressing well, but I have seen signs of trouble lately. The problem is simple: Colby has signed so many wrestlers that he cannot keep them all happy, and now they are beginning to fight among themselves for titles. The Ivy League wants to challenge Kobe Power for the tag belts. Mace and Silverfang want shots at Heavy Metal Champion and fellow CPC member Mayhem. Mantric, Mace, Shawn Styles, and Marikel Magnifique all have their eyes on the interstellar belt held by Father Steel. And, perhaps most significantly, Steel, Mayhem, Marikel, and Mantric are all fighting over who should challenge High Lord Marlicus for the USWF heavyweight belt.
“This infighting has created some interesting situations. Marikel Magnifique, the overall leader of the CPC troops in the USWF, has had various disagreements with USWF Commissioner Grogan, prompting an angry Grogan to make some decisions that bordered on fairness, such as suspending Kobe Power for injuring Scar recently. In addition, I noticed that Father Steel did not have the benefit of the biased referee Scourge recently when Steel fought High Lord Marlicus in a non-title match. Steel won the contest by himself, but one wonders if Marikel, who clearly wants to defeat Marlicus himself, had something to do with the choice of officiating.
“All-in-all, these problems add up to some serious concerns for Magnus Colby, and they have led to some interesting rumors. If things continue in this way, the CPC may try a major power play in the USWF next year, bigger than anything the Corporation has done yet. The future of the federation, as well as many of its individual stars, may hang in the balance.”
GWWF REPORT
AMAZONIA CLAIMS THE BIG PRIZE An unlikely team effort by non-CPC wrestlers resulted in Amazonia ending the year-long reign of Voodoo Queen as GWWF champion. The series of events that led to the title change began at the Stargazer Grotto on September 14 when Amazonia was scheduled to meet Thrash in a cage match. Before the contest began, Amazonia took the ring microphone. “Look, we don’t like each other and never have,” the GWWF’s all-time victory leader began. “But Voodoo Queen is still the champ because the CPC sticks together and we don’t. So let’s do it like this: whoever wins tonight gets the next title shot, and whoever loses tonight is there as backup to make sure things are fair.” Thrash agreed to the stipulation, and when Amazonia won the match, a non-title contest between Amazonia and Voodoo Queen was scheduled for September 22 at the Beta Pictoris Stellar Hall. As promised, Thrash came to the ring with Amazonia, and when Angel and the Enchantresses tried to interfere to save Voodoo Queen, the Aethran bodyguard held them off long enough for Amazonia to score the pin. After the bell, the CPC attacked again, but Supernova came out of the locker room to help Amazonia and Thrash fend off the assault. “I’ll bet you never thought you’d see me, Supernova, and Amazonia fighting together,” Thrash said later. “Hey, I still can’t stand either one of them, and when this is all over we’ll all be trying to kill each other again. But if we have to work together to stop the CPC, that’s what we’ll do.” The title match was scheduled for the GWF’s War Dome Warfare supercard at Aethra’s Warrior Village Coliseum. With Thrash again at ringside, Amazonia started fast and nailed the champion with an “Amazon Attack” in just three minutes. CPC members Velar and the Enchantresses again stormed the ring to interfere, but Thrash was joined by Supernova and Ms. Liberty in holding them off. Despite the fact that the CPC forces never reached the ring, the general mayhem that ensued caused the referee to call for a double disqualification. However, in a shocking decision, GWWF Commissioner Zachary Carter ordered the match restarted, saying that the Aethran fans deserved to see a decision. Just two minutes later Amazonia again connected with the “Amazon Attack” and scored the pin. After the bell, Thrash, Supernova, and Ms. Liberty returned to the ring to celebrate with the new champion. Amazonia thus became the GWWF champion for the fourth time but the first time since 2103. Voodoo Queen’s impressive third reign as champion lasted for sixteen successful defenses over nearly sixteen months.

GWF 2107 Highlights
From WPU 10.7
TREACHERY REVEALED HERACLES SELLS OUT, HELPS CPC TO WAR GAMES RINGS The 2107 GWF War Games ended on November 1 at the Vega Palladium as Doomsayer’s CPC Executive Order team put the finishing touches on its victory. However, the biggest news at the end of the Games was the betrayal of Chaos by Heracles which allowed the CPC team to win the rings. U. S. Patriot scored the final points for Executive Order with a pinfall win over Jack of Diamonds. However, the real superstar was former USWF champion Pathfinder of Ceres, who won his last nine matches of the Games. All six members of Doomsayer’s team, including the Patriot, Pathfinder, Monad, Skyfire, Rack, and Ruin, became GWF War Games champions for the first time in their careers. Pathfinder also owns three War Games rings from the USWF, while U. S. Patriot has earned two rings in the younger federation. “I think this win is very significant,” CPC CEO Magnus Colby stated. “The Colby/Pelf Corporation has waited a long time for this. We knew we had the superior athletes, but somehow we have always been cheated in the past. This year, our talent won out.” Despite Colby’s assertions of superior talent, the CPC also benefited as always from Colby’s fortune. The Citadel of the Elite/Rocket Men team was even with or ahead of the CPC forces until the shocking betrayal of Chaos by Heracles at War Dome Warfare, allowing Mandrill to win the Galaxian title. A few days later, at a press conference called on Pollux, the powerhouse from Earth’s past explained his actions.
“Everyone has been asking me why I helped Mandrill and what my connection is to the Colonizers,” Heracles began. “The answer is that I did not do anything to help Mandrill, and I have nothing to do with the Colonizers. In fact, I don’t even like Mandrill much. He just happened to be the lucky one who took advantage of the situation. “So why would I throw away a chance at the War Games championship, you want to know? Because I was well paid to do so. Chaos had to go down because Mr. Colby said so, and what Mr. Colby wants, Mr. Colby gets. That’s right: Heracles is joining the CPC.
“Thantos and Mr. Colby made me an offer, and I was sick of riding behind Chaos. I’ve never gotten my fair shot. How many titles have I held? How many title shots do I get? First Omega and Star Warrior held me back, and then Chaos did the same because of his huge ego. Now I’m with a team that will help me get where I deserve to be.
“Obviously, I can’t join the CPC’s War Games team this late in the year. However, I will take this chance to officially withdraw from the Citadel of the Elite. My matches will no longer earn points for Chaos and Rocket’s team. And if either one of them doesn’t like what I’ve done, all they have to do is come and get me. They can find me with my new teammates in Penthouse Suite.”
An enraged Chaos made no public comment on the betrayal. However, one week after War Dome Warfare at the Supernova Solarium, the giant from Dimension X attacked and brutally beat Heracles in the ring. Heracles was knocked out of action for at least a month, and Commissioners Morpheus and Omega had no choice but to suspend Chaos. With the big man out of action, and with Grunge sidelined with an injury, the Citadel/Rocket Men team saw its hopes of winning the Games fall away as the CPC teams took control and cruised to a first and second place finish.
MANSLAUGHTER LOSES HIS COOL The growing tensions in the Masked Assassin camp came to a full boil on October 28 after the conclusion of the War Games. The problems began in the locker room when Lycosa began once again to insult Manslaughter. “Well, big man, looks like we’re gonna finish in third place,” the high-flying Assassin said. “Not bad, all things considered. But think about how high we could have finished if everyone had done his part. Maybe if you decide to show up next year, we can win this thing.” Without saying a word, Manslaughter picked Lycosa up by the throat and, after holding him in the air for several seconds, choke-slammed him through a wooden table. The big man then simply packed his gear and walked away from his unconscious teammate. Later Manslaughter made a statement to the media. “I’ve just had enough of Lycosa, and Darkos, and all of that bunch. I’m through. For now, I’m gonna fight as an independent. Then maybe I’ll go to the USWF. Maybe I’ll just leave. I’m pretty sick of this whole situation right now, and I don’t even feel like sticking around wrestling. I don’t know what I’ll do, but I won’t do it as a Masked Assassin anymore.” An angry Darkos confirmed the split a day later. “Manslaughter made a big mistake,” he stated. “He never did live up to his potential. He was always dragging our team down. Well, not anymore. He’s history. We’re better off without him, and if he’s smart he really will leave wrestling. If he sticks around, Lycosa is likely to show him that a little man with talent is better than a big, slow goon like Manslaughter any day.”
SPIKE IS A CHAMPION AGAIN Aethran legend and Hall of Fame member Spike beat all of the odds by once again becoming a champion when he downed the Draconian Sheik to win the interplanetary title on October 28 at the Aldabaran Exposition Center. Spike was the first ever interplanetary champion fifteen years earlier, winning the tournament to establish the belt in 2092. He won the title for a second time in 2097 by defeating Wolf. Ironically, this second title win also came on Aldabaran. The victory over the Sheik marks the Aethran powerhouse’s third reign as IP champion. He is also a three-time former GWF champion. Spike manhandled the Sheik throughout the title contest. The Sheik took a brief advantage on the floor, and the Terrorists also attempted to interfere when their man was in trouble, but nothing could hold back the big Gladiator, who finally pinned his opponent with an Atomic Spike to claim the belt.
TITAN CHALLENGE 2107 Originated in 2095, the Titan Challenge takes place annually at the Titan Sportatorium. From 2101 to 2106 the Challenge became the first GWF supercard to include USWF wrestlers. However, in 2107 USWF Commissioner Grogan announced that the younger federation would not take part in the event, which was held on November 20. TITAN CHALLENGE 2107 HIGHLIGHTS Enigma downed Manslaughter with a “Feet of Fury” in a Titan Death Match The Mercenaries overcame TitanAttack when Soldier of Fortune pinned Scion Nexus Dreggs nailed Janus with a W. A. R. Gun in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Prodigy caught Skinhead with the “Perfect Singles Finisher” to retain the cruiserweight title Blazing Skull hammered Defender of the Realm in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match The Centaurians defeated the Lower World by disqualification Thunder blasted Vyper with an Aethran Power Bomb in a Turnbuckle Shock Match Wrath devastated Overkill with a “Gladiator Killer” in a Shandor Street Fight Colossus outlasted Max Shield in a Cygnus Adamantium Fists Match The Titan Express upset interplanetary tag team champions the Ninja Assassins in a non-title match Dark Justice beat Spike with a “Shock Probation” to capture the interplanetary belt Chaos won by disqualification over Heracles when numerous members of the CPC attacked Chaos Malice dominated Paragon in a Cosmic Cage Match Mandrill held on to the Galaxian title by pinning Pegasus with a “Mutant Mauler.”
Titan Challenge Wrap-Up Manslaughter, frustrated by his loss to Enigma, announced after the card that he would be leaving the GWF. “I don’t know when or if I’ll be back,” the big masked man said. “I need to make some decisions.” Dark Justice and Spike both entered their interplanetary title match injured, but Dark Justice controlled the action most of the way to win the belt. The victory gives the former FDF member the first singles title of his long career. The most exciting match for the fans on Titan was the return of the Titan Express, who looked terrific in defeating the Ninja Assassins. The card’s most brutal moment was perhaps the conclusion of the contest between Chaos and Heracles. The giant from Dimension X dominated the match, but as he went for his “Bow of Defeat” he was attached by Paragon, Janus, the Matador of M83, Colossus, and Prodigy. The CPC group pounded on their victim until he was unconscious, as no one came forward to help Chaos. The fifteen time former Galaxian champion was left bloodied and lying in the ring by his enemies. Miraculously, Chaos was not seriously injured.
GWF INTERVIEW: CHAOS Chaos, the incredible giant from Dimension X, entered the GWF in 2092 and has been the most dominant figure in the federation. He is a fifteen time former Galaxian champion, he owns four War Games championship rings, and he is a six time wrestler of the year. His most recent reign as GWF champion, the longest since the breaking of the Galaxian Code, ended due to his betrayal by Heracles, his one remaining teammate in the Citadel of the Elite. Chaos recently took a few minutes out for what developed into a very surprising interview with Qualitar. Q: Chaos, can you tell us a little bit about how you are feeling after what happened with Heracles? Chaos: That’s a pretty stupid question. I lost my title. I lost the only person here I thought I could trust. How do you think I feel? Q: You are obviously angry, but where is that anger most directed? At Heracles? At Colby? Chaos: I have enough anger for all of them. Colby has been screwing with me for years, ever since I fired him for being a lousy manager. Thantos has always been jealous of me. The Matador, Janus, Prodigy—all of them left the Citadel because they couldn’t measure up. Paragon—you know how I feel about him. And now Heracles. I’ll get to all of them eventually. Q: Can you do that? You’re alone now, except for a loose alliance with the Rocket Men. Can you take on the whole CPC by yourself? Chaos: I am Chaos the indestructible! I do not need friends or allies. (Suddenly a voice from the doorway interrupted our conversation.) Voice: You’re wrong, big man. As good as you may be, nobody can make it alone here. (Chaos looked toward the speaker. Standing in the doorway, leaning calmly against the wall, was Star Warrior.) Chaos: What do you want? Are you here to gloat because I lost my belt? If you think I’m gonna sit here and take it, you’re crazy. Star Warrior (now standing straight): And if you think I can’t defend myself anymore just because I’m retired, you’ve got another thing coming, too. But I’m not here to gloat, and I’m not here to fight with you. Chaos: Then what are you here for? Star Warrior: You have a problem. You’ve got a lot of enemies, and you’re all alone against them. But I can help. I’m here to offer you a spot with the Champions. Chaos (amazed): Join your team? You really are crazy. Star Warrior: Why? You need us. We need you. Commander Sam will be coming back to the GWF next year, which means that Jack of Diamonds will probably join him. The Star Patrol may not even stay in the GWF for the rest of this year. Who knows what Kati will do? We need to re-stock our roster. Chaos: And Pegasus? Star Warrior: I admit that Pegasus has some reservations about this, but he has agreed to give it a shot if you’re willing. Chaos: Well, I’m not. I’d rather break all of you in half. Star Warrior: Think about it, big man. Just think. Who can you trust? We’ve hated and fought each other for years—me, my father, and my brother against you—but you know we’ve always been up front. You know where we stand. Do you think you’ll get a better offer? Chaos: I don’t need a better offer. I don’t need any offer. Now get out of my sight before I decide to bring you out of retirement myself. (Star Warrior shrugged and left the room. Chaos remained for a few more questions, but he was obviously distracted. Eventually he, too, walked out, looking as angry and determined as ever, but nevertheless a bit confused.)
USWF REPORT
OLD ENEMIES CLASH WITHIN CPC In a battle of former blood enemies who are now both members of the Colby/Pelf Corporation, Mace defeated Mayhem to capture the USWF heavy metal championship at Earth’s Victory Garden on October 17. The title contest was a brutal match, with both men taking a pounding. However, Mace managed to hold the advantage most of the way, and in the end he pinned Mayhem in the cage to claim his first singles championship.
“I always knew I could do this,” Mace bragged after the card. “I was a tag-team wrestler for so long that no one appreciates how good I am on my own. I just wish the so-called heavy metal legend Wrath was still here. If I’d been around, he’d never have held this belt for so long.”
Although the heavy metal title stayed within the CPC, Magnus Colby expressed concern over the growing tension within the group. “I see too much infighting in the USWF,” he stated. “Our men should not be trying to pound on each other. We should be working as a unit. I may have to take steps to resolve this situation.”
Surprisingly, USWF Commissioner Grogan disagreed with Colby. “All year CPC wrestlers have been wanting to challenge each other, and all year Marikel and Mr. Colby have held them back,” Grogan explained. “Well, I can’t stop it anymore. These guys want to fight, so let them go. This was a great match. If the CPC wrestlers on different teams deserve title shots, I’ll let them have the shots, no matter who the champion is at the time.”
DOUBLE TITLE CHANGE ROCKS USWF Two USWF championships changed hands on October 21, with Toltecas regaining the cruiserweight belt from Crow and Mantric stunning High Lord Marlicus for the USWF heavyweight title. The contest between Marlicus and Mantric took place at the Miranda Center. Father Steel, Marikel, and Mayhem had all been clamoring for title shots at the high lord, but Commissioner Grogan ignored the wishes of CPC leader Marikel and gave the opportunity to Mantric. The contest went back and forth for nine minutes, with Marlicus using his superior strength and agility, but Mantric came back and caught the champion with a spinning neckbreaker and made the cover. The count by special referee Scourge was questionable, but Mantric was awarded the victory and the championship.
High Lord Marlicus’ sixth reign as USWF champion lasted for seven defenses over two months. Mantric, who is also a two-time former tag team champion and briefly held the heavy metal belt earlier this year, won the USWF’s biggest prize for the first time. Earlier the same night, Toltecas became a three-time cruiserweight champion by defeating Crow at the Venus Space Station Complex. Although the two high-flyers have engaged in many great battles in the past, this time Toltecas dominated the action. Crow appeared tired and out of sorts, and Toltecas needed only six minutes to regain the belt he had lost to Crow three months earlier.
FATHER STEEL REGAINS HEAVY METAL TITLE Father Steel became the first three-time USWF heavy metal champion by defeating Mace at the Ceres Amphitheater on November 14. The incredible Steel, who already holds the interstellar title, rolled over Mace in the title match. The champion never managed to get himself going and was pounded all over the cage before finally surrendering to the “Last Rites,” Steel’s crushing full nelson hold. The match also marked the second time in a row that the heavy metal title has gone from one CPC member to another. Once again Magnus Colby voiced his displeasure, but Father Steel had his own opinions on the situation. “So Mace is a part of the Second Wave? So what?” Steel asked. “We may both be CPC, but we’re on different teams. I got no connection to him. That goes for Mantric, too. I want his belt next. Grogan said that anyone who deserves a shot will get one. Well, who deserves a shot a the champion more than I do? Who’s been better this year? I’ve dominated everyone, and it’s about time that I got my chance at the big belt. If I have to go through Mantric, Mace, Mayhem, or even Marikel to get it, that’s fine with me.”
SECOND WAVE ROLLS TO WAR GAMES VICTORY The CPC team the Second Wave, led by USWF Heavyweight Champion Mantric, won the 2107 War Games handily, outdistancing their CPC comrades Primary Colors by eleven points. The Games were a three-way battle until the Star Defenders injured Captain Dalcost, effectively taking the Imperial Powers out of contention. Then Primary Colors leader Marikel Magnifique began to slump at the worst possible time, losing his last three matches. Even the success of Primary Colors members and USWF Tag Team Champions Kobe Power could not head off the charge of the Second Wave. Mantric was named the War Games MVP for his contribution to his team’s win. The Estorian superstar seems to have finally come into his own, and his reign as USWF heavyweight champion was perhaps the biggest factor in the Second Wave’s success. The members of the winning team were not strangers to War Games victory. Conrad Chase and Witherspoon won their third USWF War Games rings, having been members of the Imperial Powers in 2103 and the CPC in 2104. Mantric and Second Wave manager Parsec won their second rings, both having been a part of the first USWF War Games champion the United Defenders in 2102. Silverfang also won for the second time, as he was a part of the Untamed Warriors in 2105. Mace won his first USWF War Games, but he holds three GWF rings as a member of W. A. R. Only Shawn Styles was a first time War Games winner for the Second Wave.
GWWF REPORT
USWF ANNOUNCES NEW WOMEN’S DIVISION The long expected announcement that the USWF would form its own women’s division came at a press conference called by USWF Commissioner Grogan on November 10. “We are very excited about this development,” Grogan stated. “Many of the wrestlers in the GWWF feel that they have received unfair treatment from Commissioner Zachary Carter. For this reason, at the end of 2107 the USWF will break all ties with the GWWF and form our own women’s division. Any member of the GWWF who wishes to join us will be welcome. We will hold a tournament at the beginning of 2108 to establish our new champion.” Reaction to the announcement within the GWWF was mixed. “We knew this was coming,” Commissioner Carter said. “Everyone knows why it happened. The CPC can’t get favoritism in the GWWF, so they are creating their own title. Grogan will favor the CPC wrestlers just like he does the CPC men in the USWF. Any non-CPC woman who goes to the USWF to wrestle will have to be crazy.” However, several members of the GWWF immediately expressed interest in the new women’s title. “I fight in the USWF most of the time, so why change?” Lady Pain asked. “I think some of us will go. I’ve been talking to Dream Lover and Shadow, and both of them may join up. We know the CPC troops will be there. I think it may all work out just fine.”

GWF 2107 Highlights From WPU 10.8GALACTICADE XII Galacticade, the celebration that has ended every GWF year since 2096, was first organized by Commander Sam and is held in Los Angeles, California on the planet Earth. The annual extravaganza features the year-end awards banquet and the final supercard of each year. After the end of the War Games and the Titan Challenge supercard, GWF action traditionally slows in the weeks leading up to Galacticade. Nevertheless, numerous important incidents and challenges always seem to take place, and 2107 was no exception. GLADIATORS END THE YEAR FOR DESOLATION FACTORThe CPC’s awesome tag team Desolation Factor, the powerhouse duo that has already held the GWF tag belts in its first year, has fought its last match of 2107 after the Gladiators of Aethra inflicted a serious leg injury on Rack. The incident took place at Fire Island on November 24 in a tag team match between Rack and Overkill. Rack won the match, but after the bell Malice and Vengeance came to the ring and attacked the winner. The Aethran trio beat their victim for several minutes without interruption as Ruin, Rack’s tag team partner, had sat out the card due to a minor injury. By the time CPC forces arrived to break up the assault, Rack had suffered ligament damage to his knee and ankle. Commissioners Omega and Morpheus suspended the Aethrans for approximately one month. They will not return until the Galacticade supercard, where Thunder and Overkill will defend their GWF tag team championship. Overkill and Malice chose to wrestle in the USWF during the interim period. STRANGE DOUBLE COLLAPSE STUNS GWFIn one of the strangest incidents in recent GWF history, the Creeper and Dreadnaught were carried from the ring when both collapsed during their match at the Mimas Spectrum on November 27. The two long-time veterans were engaged in an undercard matchup when both attempted a clothesline at the same time. Both wrestlers connected, and both were knocked unconscious in the ring. The referee counted the two men out, and neither competitor regained consciousness until after medical assistance arrived. A day later, GWF Commissioner Omega issued a statement. “We have an update from our medical advisors,” Omega said. “The situation of the Creeper is apparently quite serious. We do not have a complete diagnosis yet, but he will be out for the remainder of 2107. Terak will give an update on his future soon. “Regarding Dreadnaught,” the commissioner continued, “the situation is clearer. Dreadnaught is still hospitalized. Doctors say that if he returns to the ring, it will cost him his life. His body has just been abused too much by the transrevolver. Unfortunately, we have to assume at this point that the great career of Dreadnaught is over.” SPECIAL CHALLENGE ISSUED BY WRATH AND PREDATORThe tag team of Predator and Wrath has focused its attention on the Gladiators throughout 2107, but on December 1 at the Phobus Sundome the duo issued a new challenge after a match between Wrath and Heracles. Wrath dominated most of the contest, but after he had landed his “Reprisal” finisher Colossus attacked him from behind, allowing Heracles to get the win. When Wrath recovered, Predator came to the ring to join his half-brother and called for the microphone. “You know, Colossus, you’ve been annoying people all year,” he said. “You haven’t won anything since you became a CPC stooge, so you just blindside people. You’ve done it to Mandrill, you’ve done it to Pegasus, and you’ve done it to others. Well, this time you made a mistake. I seem to remember that you and the new CPC flunkie Heracles were a tag team once. If you think you have the guts, how about the two of you fight us at Galacticade, and we’ll see if you’re as tough when you can’t sneak up from behind.” Colossus and Heracles did not accept the challenge immediately because Colossus was still involved in the special matches tournament. However, as soon as the Sagittan star was eliminated from consideration for the newly established belt, the duo signed to meet the two half-Aethrans at Galacticade. GALACTICADE WEEKEND 2107The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, Earth was once again the site of the annual GWF year-end awards banquet, which was held on December 21, 2107. Nearly all of the GWF’s active wrestlers and managers attended the event, as did such familiar faces as GWF referees Massif and Bounty Hunter, the Incredible Badger, GWWF Commissioner Zachary Carter, Billy Jo Boxer, Amazonia, Supernova, Iron Mane, Torin Caelum, Magnus Colby, and Sonora Pelf. GWF Commissioner Morpheus began the program by welcoming the audience. “Omega and I decided to split the duties tonight,” he stated. “I’m going to be the master of ceremonies, and he will present the awards. I also want to announce that Terak has scheduled a press conference tomorrow to give an update on the condition of the Creeper. We expect to have a great card tomorrow and a great event tonight. I will also have an update on our legal proceedings at the end of the program, but right now let’s get on with the awards.” Omega then stepped forward and presented the following awards: Wrestler of the Year: Chaos. The giant from Dimension X held the Galaxian title from January until October and ran his streak of defenses to an incredible total of 52. He also won the Galaxy Cup tournament for a record sixth time and had an overall record of 45-17. Chaos was also voted wrestler of the year in 2092, 2094, 2098, 2101, 2104, and 2106. Tag Team of the Year: Thunder and Overkill.Began the year as champions and regained the belts in August. A terrific 30-17 overall record. Top Newcomer: AnarchyNo real contest here. Anarchy was a top contender for all titles and had a 35-18 overall record. After the achievement awards, Omega turned the microphone over to Billy Jo Boxer, who was selected to make the Hall of Fame inductions. “I have the honor of presenting two men whom I respect greatly,” Billy Jo began. “The first is not here with us tonight. He earned three War Games rings as a manager for W. A. R. He has been a champion in the GWFF. He led W. A. R. for many years in their battles against the Aethrans, and he had the admiration of everyone in the GWF. Our first Hall of Fame inductee for this year is Destructon 3000.” When the applause for Destructon died down, Boxer continued. “The second inductee gives me special pleasure, because he was my partner. He was a GWF tag team champion five times. He was also interplanetary singles champion twice. He was a member of the Galaxy Cup winning tag team in 2088 and 2091 and a member of the tag team of the year in 2088. For several years now, he has been the manager of the Fighting Titans. But let me make this more personal: last year I was inducted into the Hall of Fame, but I would have been nothing without him. Our second inductee for 2107 is Lord Nexus.” A roar of cheers broke out for the Titan superstar. When it finally subsided, Morpheus returned to the microphone. “We have one more order of business, “ the commissioner stated, “and that is our legal proceedings against Mr. Colby. I am happy to say that nearly every decision of the court to this point has gone in our favor. The process may take a few more months to complete, as I’m sure Mr. Colby will appeal, but by mid-2108 we hope to be able to announce that the Colby/Pelf Corporation will be forced to surrender all of its stock in the GWF and to void all of its contracts with GWF wrestlers.” Magnus Colby and the other members of the CPC who were seated in the audience offered no reaction to Morpheus’ announcement. The evening concluded without incident and left everyone anxiously awaiting the following day’s supercard. END OF THE ROAD FOR THE CREEPERTerak appeared alone for the press conference he had called on December 22, the day of the Galacticade supercard. “I have some very sad news to deliver,” the Savage Kingdom leader began. “I finally have a full medical report on the Creeper. It appears that he is suffering from a degenerative nerve disease that has infected numerous individuals on Neptune. To make matters worse, Sectarian seems to have symptoms of the same disease. The Creeper is still hospitalized at this time. The long-term effects of this disease are not yet known, but it is very serious and may be fatal. In any case, I am forced to announce that the wrestling career of the Creeper is officially over.” GALACTICADE XII SUPERCARDUNEXPECTED GUESTS RETURNA sellout crowd of over 80,000 spectators filled Earth’s Los Angeles Sports Arena on December 22 for the GWF’s annual year-ending supercard, Galacticade. Numerous former GWF personalities were on hand, including Brute, Incredible Badger, Billy Jo Boxer, Torin Caelum, GWWF Commissioner Zachary Carter, Quasar, and Killer Queen. GALACTICADE XII HIGHLIGHTSMonad downed Ursa Major with a “Surfboard Submission” The Stormtroopers defeated the Hunters of Prey when Hammer pinned Wildcat Skinhead pinned Kati with a deathjump in a Titan Death Match Splatter knocked out Defender of the Realm with Arsenal in a Hitman Match. After the bell, the Defender was attacked by someone dressed as the Mad Jester Rebel Empire and Painmaster overcame Frozen Fury and Wraith in a Three-man Elimination Tag Match. Jack of Diamonds outlasted Vyper in a brutal Four Weapons of Destruction Match Enigma caught Rising Sun with the “Feet of Fury” in a Lepus Stun Rod Match The Titan Express defeated the Mercenaries when Dragonmaster pinned Soldier of Fortune after Vigilante walked out on the match Prodigy got by Blade to retain the cruiserweight belt Vengeance put Dreggs away with the “Eye Cleaver” with Bounty Hunter as the referee CPC Rising beat X-Termination in a Titan Death Match when Janus made Sleeze submit Blazing Skull became the GWF’s first special matches champion by downing U. S. Patriot in a Castor Chain Match. After the bell, the Patriot was attacked and beaten by a masked man who came out of the crowd Malice blasted Spike with the “Fields of Malice” in a Cosmic Cage Match Predator and Wrath defeated Colossus and Heracles with Massif as the referee. The Draconian Sheik made a dramatic comeback to overcome Interplanetary Champion Dark Justice in a non-title Cygnus Adamantium Fists Match Anarchy triumphed over Archon in a Total Anarchy Match Pegasus dominated Pathfinder of Ceres in a Scorpi King of the Ring Match; The Ninja Assassins won by disqualification over GWF Tag Team Champions Thunder and Overkill when Malice and Vengeance interfered to prevent an apparent win by the Assassins Paragon pinned Chaos with Bounty Hunter as the referee. After the bell, Chaos was attacked by the CPC but was finally saved by Alpha Force. Wolf used the “Savage Face Claw” on the floor to defeat Terminus in a Flamsteed Street Fight Mandrill pinned Max Shield with a piledriver after interference by Sentry to retain the Galaxian title. Galacticade XII Wrap-upUnexpected arrivals and departures dominated this year’s Galacticade. The card featured some excellent matches, including the Draconian Sheik’s victory over Dark Justice and Jack of Diamonds win over Vyper, among many others. The main event was ultimately infuriating for Max Shield once again. Shield appeared to have Mandrill beaten with a “Maximum Impact” when Sentry shot him with the stun gun. Mandrill then recovered and pinned Shield with a piledriver to retain the title. The Titan Express was victorious in its final match, but only under strange circumstances. Vigilante started the match for the Mercenaries but walked out of the ring after the first tag, leaving Soldier of Fortune alone. Vigilante left the arena before the match had even ended. Three unexpected visitors provided the most surprising moments of the night. The first arrived after Splatter defeated the Defender of the Realm. An individual dressed as the Defender’s alter-ego the Mad Jester ran into the ring and attacked the loser. The Defender was not seriously injured, but he was as confused as the spectators by the interloper’s assault. The audience was left wondering who might be the real imposter: the Defender or the Jester. “I have no idea who that was,” the Defender stated later. “He looked just like me, but we all know it couldn’t be the real Jester. I am the real Jester. Something very strange is going on here.” The second unexpected guest was almost equally confusing. After U. S. Patriot was defeated by Blazing Skull, a masked man leapt out of the crowd and nailed the Patriot with a leaping piledriver. When the Patriot’s CPC teammates came to the ring to help him, the attacker jumped back to the arena floor and removed his mask, revealing himself to be Lance At-Las, who had retired from wrestling due to a serious knee injury inflicted on him by the Cosmic Forces in 2098 and had not been seen in a wrestling arena for over a year since he was brutally set-up and betrayed by U. S. Patriot at a USWF supercard. But now Lance was walking without the cane he had used for so many years and appeared to be as mobile as ever. The supposedly untreatable knee injury, which should have only been made worse by the Patriot’s cowardly attack in 2106, had obviously healed completely. At-Las declined to comment after the card, saying only that everyone would understand in 2108. Finally, after Chaos was defeated by Paragon, Heracles and Colossus came to the ring to attack the giant from Dimension X while Prodigy and Terminus detained special referee Bounty Hunter. Suddenly the last person anyone would have expected to defend Chaos arrived in the ring with a chair: Alpha Force, who had been on hiatus from the GWF for all of 2107. Alpha drove the CPC troops away from his long-time enemy and then helped Chaos from the ring. “Yes, I’m back,” Alpha Force said later. “It’s time to stand up and finish this thing with the CPC. And Chaos and I are going to have a long talk, whether he likes it or not. He may think he can fight alone, but we need him, and I’m not going to let him be until he agrees to help us.” GWF INTERVIEW: VIGILANTEThe following comments were made to Qualitar by two-time former Galaxian champion and eleven time former GWF tag-team champion Vigilante just before the long-time member of Krakan’s Militia left the arena after walking out on Soldier of Fortune during their match against The Titan Express at Galacticade. Q: Vigilante, can you explain to us what just happened out there? Vigilante: I left. That should be obvious. Q: But why? Vigilante: Because we stink as a team. We were the greatest once, but we’re a joke now. I can’t stand it. Krakan was right in dumping us. Now I’m getting out. Q: But you left your partner in the ring. Vigilante: Soldier can take care of himself. He’s a big boy. Or maybe his pathetic friend Dreadnaught will come back to help him. Who cares? All I know is I’m out of here. Q: Does that mean out of the Mercenaries, or out of wrestling? Vigilante: It means I’m gone, period. I was one of the best wrestlers this federation has ever seen, singles or tag-team. Now I’m an easy mark for anyone, even someone as washed up as Dragonmaster. I don’t want to do this anymore. If Soldier of Fortune wants to embarrass himself, fine. That’s his choice. But this is the last you’ll see of me. USWF REPORTFATHER STEEL MAKES HIS CHALLENGEAs the USWF ended its War Games and prepared for its year-ending Center Stage Spectacular, one question continued to be discussed throughout the federation: who would face USWF Heavyweight Champion Mantric at the year’s final supercard? In a stunning challenge, Father Steel offered an unexpected answer. The massive interstellar champion, who has dominated the USWF throughout the year, called a press conference to make his challenge. “It’s time for me to get my shot,” Steel declared. “I don’t care if Mantric and me are both CPC or not. No one deserves this more. I’ve blasted through everyone all year. No one has been able to match me, but I haven’t gotten my chance for the big belt. Now I’m demanding it. I want Mantric at the supercard.” CROW STUNS STEEL FOR INTERSTELLAR BELTIn a shocking turn of events, Crow pinned the seemingly indestructible Father Steel to claim the USWF interstellar title at Fire Island on December 12. Steel, who was set to challenge Mantric for the USWF heavyweight championship just seven days later, did not appear to be focused on the match. Crow took full advantage, perplexing the big man with his high flying moves and finally landing his “black feather flyer” to score the win. With the victory, Crow becomes interstellar champion for the first time. He is also a two-time former USWF cruiserweight champion. Steel expressed little concern over his loss. “I proved what I needed to with that belt,” he said. “After I beat Mantric and take the USWF championship, no one will remember this match anyway.” GROGAN ANNOUNCES SUDDEN DEATH AT BANQUETThe USWF’s ninth annual awards banquet, held at the Callisto Civic Auditorium on December 17, 2107, turned out to be one of the most important nights in the history of the federation. Nearly all of the USWF’s active wrestlers and managers were in attendance, as were guests such as Magnus Colby, Sonora Pelf, Bounty Hunter, Dragonmaster, Wolf, Amazonia, Pegasus, Supernova, Galactic Trooper, Space Ranger, Terak, and Lord Nexus. USWF Commissioner Grogan opened the presentation with a few introductory remarks. “We’re glad to see everyone here tonight,” Grogan began. “In addition to the awards, we have some big news to announce. You all know, of course, about the beginning of our women’s division next year. We’re very excited about that. But I have two other announcements that may be even more significant, or at least one of them will be. However, we want to start with the year-end awards, so let’s begin.” Wrestler of the Year: Father Steel. The incredible strongman has yet to hold the USWF heavyweight title, for which he will challenge at the Center Stage Spectacular, but he held the interstellar championship for an impressive twenty-two defenses over five months and also held the heavy metal belt twice in 2107 while compiling an amazing 44-21 overall record. Tag Team of the Year: Kobe Power. The rookie tag team of Shiryu and Shouji Kanemura started slowly but won the USWF tag belts in June and have now defended them successfully seventeen times with a 33-19 record for the year. Top Newcomer: Kobe Power. Shiryu and Shouji dominated the tag team ranks for the second half of 2107 and are the current tag team champions. After the award ceremony was complete, Grogan again addressed the audience. “Now for our big announcements,” he began. “First of all, I want to announce a new title that we will create in 2108. We like the GWF’s special matches title, but it’s a little too tame for this federation. We’ve always had a reputation for being hardcore, with people like Dagger Mack, Homicide, and the Barbaric Destroyer, among others. Therefore, we are going to create a hardcore title. It will differ from the GWF’s special matches title in that only certain matches will qualify in our hardcore division; specifically, the belt will be contested in Flamsteed Street Fight, Four Weapons of Destruction, Total Anarchy, Falls Count Anywhere, Barbed Wire Cage, and Torture Chamber Matches only. We will hold a tournament in early 2108, and whoever survives will be our champion. I also want to make clear that, unlike the GWF, we will not be retiring the heavy metal title. We will continue to recognize a cage champion as well. “Now for the big announcement. As you know, Mr. Magnus Colby holds exactly one-half of the stock in the USWF. Many of our wrestlers are directly under contract to him. Mr. Colby is not happy with the way things have gone for his men recently, especially with them fighting among themselves. Therefore, the Colby/Pelf Corporation is issuing a Sudden Death challenge to the rest of the USWF for 2108. You all know the format from past GWF sudden death periods: teams will be matched against each other and will score points in direct competition with their feud rivals. One member of each losing team will be banished from the USWF for a minimum of two years. “As commissioner, I have accepted this challenge on behalf of the rest of the USWF. We will announce the teams and feud pairings at our press conference in January.” The mood in the room after Grogan’s announcement was one of amazement. “He had no business accepting for us,” the Incredible Badger stated. “But if they want a fight, they’ll get it. This is the time for the USWF to come together. I think there’s more to this than just banishing a few losing wrestlers. Somehow or other, I know that if we lose, this is going to be Colby’s federation.” CENTER STAGE SPECTACULAR VThe USWF’s fifth annual Center Stage Spectacular was held on December 18, 2107 before a sellout crowd at Jupiter’s Callisto Centroplex. Numerous guests from the GWF and the GWWF attended the event, including Magnus Colby, Sonora Pelf, GWF Commissioner Omega, Wolf, Amazonia, Predator, Lord Nexus, Dragonmaster, Pulsar, Galactic Trooper, and Space Ranger. CENTER STAGE SPECTACULAR V HIGHLIGHTSGreg Valentine used the “Figure Four Leglock” to defeat Cougar Claw Guthlac defeated Shawn Styles Crazy Horse used a neckbreaker to overcome Mammoth Alien Assault triumphed over the Ivy League when Torsir made Witherspoon submit Daniel Streamline downed Silverfang in a Zero Gravity Platform Match Barbaric Destroyer beat Venom in an outstanding cage match Unknown Soldier upset Mayhem with a “Total Genocide” with Scourge as the referee Charon stunned Toltecas with an “Abandon All Hope” to win the cruiserweight title Armageddon defeated Imperial Bounty in a Titan Death Match when Carnage pinned Vascor Singer of Tales beat Stargazer in a tough Four Weapons of Destruction Match; Jason the Canadian Bomber won by count out over Bishop Hell Maccavity won by disqualification over Interstellar Champion Crow when Kobe Power interfered Overkill and Malice slammed Rebellion in a Flamsteed Street Fight when Overkill pinned Blitz in the ring Homicide destroyed Black Hawk in a Leather Strap Match Lycanthrope clawed his way through Dagger Mack in the torture chamber USWF Tag Team Champions Kobe Power and the Flatliners fought to a double disqualification Mace upset Raven in a Castor Chain Match. The Main EventMantric opened the action by taking a swing at Father Steel, but the big challenger blocked the punch and nearly knocked Mantric out with a counter-blow. Steel then picked Mantric up and blasted him again. With the champion almost senseless and the match less than three minutes old, Mantric’s teammates Conrad Chase, Witherspoon, Shawn Styles, and Silverfang all stormed the ring, but Steel fended off all of them with no problem. Mantric recovered slightly and the match continued for three more minutes until Steel once again stunned the champion and then picked him up for what may well be the most devastating choke slam in wrestling. This time there was no rescue for Mantric, and Steel covered him to score the pin and claim the USWF heavyweight championship for the first time. Center Stage Spectacular Wrap-UpThe year’s final card featured many great contests and exciting moments. The cage match between Venom and the Barbaric Destroyer was terrific, and the Unknown Soldier’s win over Mayhem was perhaps the best match of the night. Other especially good matches were Singer of Tales’ triumph over Stargazer in the Singer’s final match and Lycanthrope’s hammering of Dagger Mack in the torture chamber. A less pleasant spectacle was the tremendous beating inflicted upon Black Hawk by Homicide in the Leather Strap Match. Hawk was carried from the ring, as he refused to submit and Homicide literally had to beat him into unconsciousness for the win. One of the stranger moments of the night was the interference of Kobe Power on behalf of Crow. The tag team champions saved Crow’s interstellar title, but no one had previously known of any connection between Crow and the big tag team. None of the three would comment on the issue after the card. As soon as the card ended, some wrestlers began saying their farewells. Singer of Tales had previously announced his retirement, but King Colerain now declared that he too would be returning to his home planet of Sanglia permanently. Cougar Claw also hinted that he may have fought his last match in the USWF, and Raven announced that he was again ready to take some time off and relax. Finally, the CPC announced that Vulcan would not be returning to the group in 2108 and was expected to leave wrestling altogether. GWWF REPORTSPLIT MADE OFFICIAL AT GWWF AWARDS BANQUETThe GWWF held its fifth annual year-ending awards banquet at the Galactic Convention Hall on Ceres on December 14, 2107. All of the federation’s active wrestlers attended, as did special guests that included GWF Commissioners Omega and Morpheus, Wolf, Pegasus, Lord Nexus, Magnus Colby, Sonora Pelf, Archon, former GWWF Commissioner Torin Caelum, and various other GWF and USWF figures. GWWF Commissioner Zachary Carter began the ceremony with a few general remarks. He then presented the GWWF’s award winners for 2107. Wrestler of the Year: Amazonia. The four-time GWWF champion regained the title in October, finally ending the long reign of Voodoo Queen, and compiled a 13-7 overall record. Amazonia also won the award in 2103. Tag-Team of the Year: The Enchantresses. Cassandra and Anaxis have held the tag belts since October of 2106 and remain the champions. Their overall record for 2107 was 12-6. After finishing with the awards, Commissioner Carter continued. “I also have what I consider to be a sad announcement to make,” he said. “I am going to make official what everyone knows: the GWWF will no longer have a working agreement with the USWF in 2108. Our wrestlers will appear only at GWF events, as the USWF has created its own women’s division. I am sorry that things have come to this point, but the situation is beyond our control. I expect that some of our current wrestlers will be joining the USWF. . .” “You bet we will,” interrupted Voodoo Queen, who had been the GWWF’s wrestler of the year in 2105 and 2106. “Maybe we can get a fair shot there.” “You’ve always had a fair shot here,” Carter replied calmly. “Yeah? Then why wasn’t I wrestler of the year again?” Voodoo Queen shot back. “I was champion for ten months. Amazonia has been the champ for less than two. How can she win this award?” “You were the champion for so long because you never defended the belt, and because every time you did your CPC buddies interfered to keep you from losing,” Supernova answered angrily. “You were no champion. Amazonia gave some dignity back to that belt.” “Well, she can have it,” Voodoo Queen stormed. “I’m going to the USWF. But don’t think that just because of that, you won’t see me again. Not you, or Amazonia, or Thrash, or any of the others. We still have scores to settle.” With that, Voodoo Queen stalked out of the room, followed by Angel, Celestia, and Velar. Surprisingly, CPC members Cassandra and Anaxis remained seated. The program continued without further incident, but the mood of the evening was clearly ruined. Later that night, Lady Pain, Dream Lover, and Shadow all announced their intention of joining the USWF. The Enchantresses again remained silent on the issue, causing speculation that even in the women’s ranks, the CPC may be suffering divisions.

GWF 2108 Highlights
From WPU 11.1
GALAXY CUP 2108 The GWF began its 2108 campaign as it has every year since 2087, with the Galaxy Cup tournaments at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena. The annual press conferences at which teams announce their rosters and plans for the coming year took place in the Deimos Media Center in the two days preceding the tournaments. Commissioners Omega and Morpheus opened the proceedings with their own press conference on the morning of January 18. “We want to welcome everyone back from the holiday break,” Omega began. “We’re looking forward to a week of great press conferences and wrestling action, and we know that it’s the wrestlers you really want to hear from. However, we have a few announcements to make first. “I’ll start with the legal update,” Omega continued. “We are pleased to say that we have officially won our court battle with Magnus Colby, at least at the first level. The court granted us the right to void all of Colby’s contracts with GWF wrestlers and to force him to relinquish his stock holdings in the GWF. He is appealing the decision, of course, so we may have to wait most of the year before really taking action, but we are very pleased right now.” Morpheus stepped forward next. “However, we may have another problem on the horizon,” he said. “Certain members of the UFSP governing council have been complaining about the violence in wrestling, and they are threatening sanctions against us. A few are even calling for renewing the old ban on wrestling. We are going to have to keep a close eye on everyone this year, because we may have political problems coming. “I also want to comment on the Gladiators and their attack on the Ninja Assassins at Galacticade last December. The attack was a cowardly act that was an obvious escape when they were about to lose their titles, and they did injure Daemon. We considered suspending the whole team for Galaxy Cup, but instead we decided that they will all be suspended for two weeks after the tournaments end. "In addition, we have an update on Dreadnaught,” Morpheus continued. “You will all remember that he collapsed in the ring near the end of last year. He has been advised by doctors that if he continues wrestling, he will almost certainly suffer another attack and die. The many times he went through the transrevolver have just been too much for his body to take. We are urging him to retire, but so far he is not listening, and he is here to wrestle in the tournaments.” Omega stepped forward again. “Finally, we are saying goodbye to some of our all-time greats this year,” he stated. “After Galacticade, Dragonmaster, Pulsar, and Vigilante all called it quits. They were all terrific competitors, and we will miss seeing them in the ring. “That’s it for us,” Omega finished. “The team press conferences will start in about an hour. I hope everyone enjoys Galaxy Cup 2108.”
Highlights of the team press conferences were as follows:
SPIKE REJOINS THE GLADIATORS The Gladiators of Aethra opened the team press conferences. Appearing on stage were Vengeance, Malice, Thunder, and Overkill. “We are actually happy today,” Vengeance began. “We have good news. You see all of us here on stage as we were last year, but we now welcome a fifth member. He was confused last year, but now he’s come home. Spike has rejoined the Gladiators of Aethra.” The imposing figure of Spike walked out onto the stage. “That’s right, I’m back where I belong,” he said. “At the end of last year, I took a good look at myself. My record was 29-30 for the year, and that just ain’t Spike. The new attitude and working with the half-breeds Predator and Wrath didn’t cut it for me. Now I’m once again a part of the most powerful force in the galaxy.” “Take a good look, Massacre,” Vengeance crowed. “What will you do now? As for the commissioners’ announcement, so we’re suspended? Who cares? Thunder and Overkill are still the champs, Spike’s back with us, and we’re gonna crush Massacre’s half-breeds and wannabes, ‘cause we have them outnumbered now. If Massacre’s smart, he’ll come back home too.”
ROCKET MEN GAIN A MEMBER, LOSE ANOTHER Johnny Rocket appeared on stage for the Rocket Men press conference with Sleeze, Grunge, Skinhead, Brainstorm, and Maxine. As usual, Rocket planned to do the talking for the group. “As you can see, our roster is unchanged,” Rocket began. “Skinhead had a good year, as did Brainstorm, and X-Termination is still an elite tag-team . . .” “Yeah, right,” Grunge said. “Some team.” “Ah . . . excuse me?” Rocket stuttered. “What does that mean?” “It means I want to know where all of you guys were when I got hurt last year? They put me out for months, and no one cared. Yeah, I got great partners here.” Rocket shook his head. “We were in the middle of the War Games,” he said. “We were a little busy. But why are you bringing this up now?” “Because I wanted to quit publicly,” was Grunge’s shocking response. “I got a better offer. Right now I just want to tell you where you can stick X-Termination. I’m sick of carrying Sleeze. He’s been holding me back for years. Now I’m out of here.” As Grunge finished speaking, the other members of the Rocket Men were attacked from behind by Lycosa and Halcón Oro. The masked duo knocked down Brainstorm and jumped on Skinhead and Sleeze while Grunge picked up a chair and hammered all of his former teammates. Suddenly, as it appeared that the Rocket Men were headed for serious injury, Dreggs burst into the room with another chair and clobbered Grunge. Halcón Oro and Lycosa quickly backed off and dragged Grunge out the door. As the Rocket Men recovered, Skinhead was the first to speak. “What the hell was that all about?” he asked. “What’s Grunge doing with those two? Is he joining the Masked Assassins?” “I got a better question,” Sleeze responded, looking at his brother. “What are you doing here?” Dreggs shrugged. “I was watching on the monitor in the back, and I saw what went down,” he answered. “Besides, I’ve been thinking a lot lately. I’m sick of fighting you. We’re brothers. And now it looks like you need a partner. Rocket isn’t my favorite person, and neither is Skinhead or Brainstorm, but I think we should be working together. If this team wants me, here I am.” Rocket looked up and smiled. “Want you?” he replied. “You and Sleeze? What a team! You’ll see, you’ll like us better than you think. Who wouldn’t lose Grunge to gain Dreggs? Good riddance, and look out world. The Rocket Men just got better.”
COMMANDER SAM RETURNS TO A NEW FDF The Federation Defense Fighters press conference was one of the most anticipated of the new year, as Commander Sam was returning after spending 2107 in the USWF. “I’m very happy to be back,” Sam announced as he appeared alone on stage. “I had a great time last year driving Grogan crazy, but the GWF is my home. And I’m so excited about our team that I’m not going to wait another second to start introducing them. “First, I want to present two men who have been in the FDF as regular members before. The first is Jack of Diamonds, who had his best year ever last year and is really coming into his own. The other came back with me from the USWF, and he’s a two-time former interplanetary champion: Jason the Canadian Bomber.” As Jack and Jason walked out onto the stage, Sam continued. “Our third member has had his problems, but he assures me that everything is under control now. After talking to Jack and Jason, I decided to give him a try. The FDF welcomes the Defender of the Realm.” The Defender walked out of the stage wings and joined the group. “Our last two members will really be fun to introduce,” Sam stated. “Some of you might be able to think back to around 2084 and remember the Code Enforcer. No one ever knew who he was, but he stood for keeping the GWF under control, and he did it by whatever means he had to. Well, we need a little control and order now, so please welcome my new tag team: The Code Enforcers!” Two masked men, dressed exactly alike, walked out onto the stage. One was a huge, hulking figure, while the other was much smaller. “Don’t ask who they are,” Sam said. “What matters is that they are here and that they are going to help make sure that things don’t get out of hand in this federation like they have in the USWF. People used to say that the FDF acted like the policemen of the GWF. Well, wait until you see us now.”
MASSACRE GIVES RESPONSE TO SPIKE’S DEFECTION After the defections of Spike to the Gladiators and Dreggs to the Rocket Men, many members of the media wondered how Massacre would respond. All questions were answered when the Aethran legend appeared for his team’s press conference with Predator and Wrath on stage behind him. “First of all, yes, I was a little surprised by Spike’s decision and comments,” Massacre began. “I knew he was unhappy, but I did not expect this. In Dreggs’ case, he had spoken to me earlier, and I knew he was considering joining his brother. And since you can never tell what Vengeance will do, I had already restocked our roster in any case. “Obviously we begin with our tag team, Predator and Wrath. This will be their second year together, and they held their own against the Gladiators as it was. In addition, I am happy to say that Wolf, who joined us for the War Games last year, has agreed to become an official member of our team, and he’ll be after Malice full-time now.” With his customary howl, Wolf walked out onto the stage, followed by Amazonia. Then Massacre continued. “Our other two additions come to us from the USWF,” he said, “Both of them are great fighters who have been friends of Predator, and they are here to help us by taking on Vengeance and Spike. Please welcome Black Hawk and Crazy Horse to our team.” The two Indian superstars walked out onto the stage together. Black Hawk embraced Predator, while Crazy Horse shook hands with Wrath. “Speaking of ‘our team,’ I have one more announcement,” Massacre concluded. “Last year we called ourselves the Aethran Resistance Movement. We’re still after the Gladiators, but without Dreggs and Spike things have changed. What we have in common with Black Hawk and Crazy Horse is that all of us are warriors. Therefore, we have decided that this year we will be known as the Warrior Alliance. We have the talent to go right to the top of the GWF, and we’ll step on anyone who tries to stop us.”
PATRIOT TAKES A NEW PARTNER U. S. Patriot, the star of the CPC’s War Games winning Executive Order in 2107, called this press conference on his own and appeared on stage alone.
“I’ve had all I can stand,” the Patriot began. “First off, I’m sick of all of this crap about how I betrayed America and Commander Sam. I care nothing about America, and I’m proud of what I did. Sam sold me out first, if I recall correctly. Therefore, to show how I feel about him and his stinking country, I will be known from now on as U. S. Traitor.
“But that’s not the best part,” the newly renamed superstar went on. “I’m also done with the CPC. I’m sick of Doomsayer, and I’m sick of always being on their second team. I went out and got myself a partner, and we’re going independent. Get a load of this, Sam, you old sap: he’s from Cygnus. Welcome Malestrom to the GWF!”
An alien who clearly resembled the other Cygnus wrestlers in GWF history made his way out onto the stage. With this move, U. S. Traitor had completely betrayed Commander Sam. The media spectators could only wait for the reactions from Sam and from the CPC.
CPC ADDS ITS THIRD TEAM The Colby/Pelf Corporation forces appeared as a group, with Thantos and Doomsayer leading all of their wrestlers out onto the stage together. Magnus Colby, CEO of the Corporation, took the microphone first. “Have you ever seen such a collection of talent?” Colby asked. “At last we begin the year as defending War Games champions. This year will be even better. I’m excited about our new additions, but I’ll let the managers introduce their own teams.” Thantos stepped forward and spoke for his group. “As always, Penthouse Suite is the elite team in wrestling. We return Paragon, Prodigy, and Terminus as singles wrestlers. They will be joined this year by Janus. And our tag team should be obvious after last year: Heracles and Colossus are reforming Millennium. This is the strongest Penthouse Suite yet, and this year we guarantee a War Games win.” When someone from the audience shouted a question about the whereabouts of the Matador of M83, Thantos simply smiled. However, it was Janus who responded. “My old partner couldn’t cut it anymore,” the “Overman” stated. “He doesn’t have what it takes to be a part of a group like this. We turned him loose, and if he’s smart he’ll disappear.” Doomsayer took the microphone next. “Thantos can guarantee all the War Games wins he wants, but my ‘Executive Order’ has the rings now,” he gloated. “What is U. S. Patriot thinking? He had a place here. Now we’ll have to teach him and his ugly new friend their place. But our roster is still loaded, even though Pathfinder has returned to the USWF. We still have Monad, and we still have the most powerful tag team in wrestling: Desolation Factor. And we have two new members. First, Mayhem has returned from the USWF to join us. And welcome our latest addition: the Mad Jester.” The media was in shock. Not only was bringing Mayhem back sure to anger the Aethrans, but everyone had seen Defender of the Realm at the FDF press conference. How could the Mad Jester be here? “The Defender is an imposter,” the Jester asserted. “He has to be, ‘cause I’m an original. Ha ha. Who is he? Who knows? I’m betting on Talisman, ‘cause he’s as crazy as me. But who cares? I’m the new Jester of King Colby’s court.” Magnus Colby stepped forward again. “Thank you Jester. But we have another big announcement as well. You all see Dynamo and Vanity here, but they will be fighting alone as a tag team. Reynard B. Guile will have his own group to manage. Reynard, come out and do the honors.” Guile strutted out onto the stage. “This is so exciting,” he exclaimed. “I’m back, folks, and I finally have a team good enough to do Mr. Colby and Ms. Pelf proud and to help me get revenge on Krakan at last. You can call us the Hired Guns. Our first two members introduced themselves to the Rocket Men: Lycosa and Halcón Oro.” As the two masked men stepped out onto the stage, Guile continued. “Now for the big surprise, and this will be fun. Rocket, you twerp, you think you have a great team with Dreggs and Sleeze? Well, I have the partners that carried them both for years. Let me introduce my new star tag team, Disorder X: Mace and Grunge!” Guile’s shocking new duo stepped out onto the stage as Colby spoke for a final time. “See this, my dear commissioners? You’re trying to stop me, but instead the CPC is expanding. You only think you’re winning. Magnus Colby does not lose. We will keep growing until we swallow up the entire GWF.”
CHAMPIONS MAKE SHOCKING ADDITIONS Star Warrior began the press conference for the Champions alone on stage. “I asked to speak last this year because I wanted to see what the CPC would do,” he began. “You all know I’m not big on dramatics, but I’m making an exception this year, because I’m pretty excited about our team. Let me introduce them to you. “First of all, because he’s always first, is Pegasus. He is, as always, our number one singles wrestler. I’m also happy to announce that Kati will be returning for another year with us. Come on out, guys.” Pegasus and Kati walked out of the stage wings and stood behind Star Warrior. Then the manager continued. “Now, we needed someone to deal with Prodigy. I thought about who might be available, and I had a talk with Lord Nexus. We made an agreement, and here is the result. We welcome Rising Sun to the Champions.” As the Titan star stepped out onto the stage and joined his new teammates, Star Warrior spoke again. “Our fourth man has not been a member of this team for a long time, but we welcome him back. He’s here to take a piece out of Janus, and he still wants some of U. S. Patriot, or Traitor, or whatever, too. You all saw him at Galacticade: welcome Lance At-Las.” The media was in shock. At-Las had retired ten years earlier due to a knee injury inflicted upon him by the Cosmic Forces and had been injured even more severely by U. S. Patriot in 2086. He had not walked without a cane for years. However, Lance quickly explained the situation. “You all know about my long life span,” he said. “I retired because of my knee injury, not because of age. But technology is an amazing thing, and in the end U. S. Patriot did me a favor. When I went in for surgery after his attack, the doctors told me that the supposedly irreparable damage to my knee was now reparable due to new medical advances. So here I am. But that doesn’t make me like the Patriot any more than I did, and I still have a score to settle with him.” Star Warrior took back the microphone. “Our final two men, obviously, will take on Millennium,” he said. “One was on hiatus last year. The other is the last man you’d ever expect to see on our team. But between them, they have held the Galaxian heavyweight championship 22 times, and now they are a tag team. I give you Alpha Power: Alpha Force and Chaos.” This was the biggest stunner of all: Chaos joining the Champions. The giant promised to explain his decision at a later date, for now saying only that he had discussed matters with Star Warrior and Alpha Force and decided that this was the right decision. All that was certain was that Star Warrior had indeed put together a team that could compete with Penthouse Suite.
MORPHEUS GIVES UPDATE ON REMAINING GWF STARS Commissioner Morpheus called one final press conference after all of the teams had spoken. “Several teams and individuals chose not to make presentations, so I want to update you on them,” he said. “Terak has informed me that the Savage Kingdom will again consist of the Hunters of Prey and Gila. Maleph will again manage Blazing Skull and Anarchy, who will call themselves ‘Unspeakable Horror’ this year. The Lower World, Death’s Head and Erebus, will fight independent of the other Brymstonians. “As I stated during our opening press conference, Dreadnaught has refused to retire. In fact, he and Soldier of Fortune have announced that they will reunite as ‘Battle Corps.’ I wish them luck, and we all hope Dreadnaught comes to his senses before it’s too late. “The Terrorists declined to speak for themselves, but they have a major announcement. In addition to the Sheik, the Terrorists will manage two more wrestlers this year. Frighteningly, they are as crazy as the Sheik. Splatter and Vyper will be joining the Terrorists.” “Finally, I have an update on the Matador of M83. I can’t repeat exactly what he said about Janus and the CPC, other than that he quit and that they did not fire him. But in any case, he will be fighting as an independent this year, at least until the War Games, which I would guess will make him the most sought-after free-agent around in a couple of months.
GALAXY CUP TOURNAMENTS 2108 The GWF held its twenty-second annual Galaxy Cup Tournaments from January 20-23, 2108 at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena of Mars, with two days for the singles tournament and one for the tag tournament and a day off between. After the first two rounds of each tournament, all matches are fought under Titan Death Match Rules. Winners of the tournaments are guaranteed opportunities to fight for the Galaxian heavyweight and GWF tag team belts at Galactic War, the GWF’s first regular supercard of the year.
Highlights of the Galaxy Cup tournaments were as follows:
Galaxy Cup Singles Tournament

Singles Tournament Final: Pegasus and Mandrill fought evenly for several minutes until Pegasus caught the champion coming off the ropes and blasted him with a press slam to score the pin and notch his first ever Galaxy Cup Championship.
Galaxy Cup Tag TeamTournament
Round One Highlights: The Code Enforcers hammered Disorder X; Alpha Power downed Jack of Diamonds and Defender of the Realm; Brainstorm and Skinhead stunned Millennium; Twin Blood outlasted Cygnus Strikeforce.

Tag Team Tournament Finals: In the first ever tag team tournament final involving two newly formed tag teams, Twin Blood captured the Galaxy Cup championship by defeating the Code Enforcers when Code Enforcer I went down to the “Twice Bitten.”
Galaxy Cup Notes and Comments: This year’s Galaxy Cup tournaments were among the best ever, with the usual number of upsets and surprises and an astonishing level of even competition. Every day of the event was marked by great matches and outstanding individual performances.
In the singles tournament final, Pegasus finally took the big prize after finishing second to Colossus in 2105. The charismatic superstar had to travel one of the toughest roads imaginable to the championship, defeating his own close friend Black Hawk as well as Heracles, Terminus, and Max Shield before taking out the Galaxian Champion Mandrill. It was a terrific performance and one that definitely earned Pegasus his title shot at the next supercard. On the tag team side, Sleeze made his fourth appearance in the finals in five years, having reached the championship as a member of X-Termination in 2104, ‘06, and ‘07 and winning the tournament in ‘04 and ‘07. Incredibly, Dreggs had never reached the Galaxy Cup finals as a member of the New Order. This time the twin brothers were unstoppable, hammering their way through the competition and finally overcoming the new masked team of the Code Enforcers to claim the prize. The first day of the singles tournament featured some terrific matches. Among them were Dreggs defeating his friend and former teammate Predator, Daemon putting up a stunning fight before losing to Malice, Vengeance and Splatter nearly tearing each other apart, Ruin outlasting Dark Justice in a stunning effort, and Greg Valentine’s duel with the Draconian Sheik in round one. In round two, the best matches were Jack of Diamonds outlasting Mace in a tremendous battle and Heracles squeaking by Enigma.
USWF REPORT
GROGAN ANNOUNCES SUDDEN DEATH MATCHUPS The 2108 year-opening press conference for the United Stars Wrestling Federation was held on January 22, the day off between the GWF’s Galaxy Cup Tournaments. This year the event was moved from its previous location at the Europa Garden to the press room of Pelf Palace. Commissioner Grogan spoke first and was joined on stage by representatives from each of the USWF’s teams. “First of all, welcome everyone,” Grogan began. “We’re happy to be in this great new location on Planet Pelf. We have a lot of business to take care of today, so I’m going to get started right away with my announcements. “First of all, as I promised at the end of last year, we will soon begin our tournament to establish our new hard core champion. Unlike the GWF’s special matches belt, this title will involve not just any special match, but only the most dangerous. I will give an update on the tournament soon. “Secondly, a number of our wrestlers have chosen to leave the USWF since the end of last year. Specifically, the following individuals will not be returning: Singer of Tales, King Colerain, Cougar Claw, Pyramid, Sphynx, Vulcan, Jackal, and Scavenger. You also know that Black Hawk, Crazy Horse, the Canadian Bomber, Mace, Mayhem , and Greg Valentine have left for the GWF, and we lost Violator, Ravage, and Nightmare before the end of last year. In addition, Raven has asked for an indefinite leave of absence. He has left the door open for a possible return later. “As a result of all of these changes, our talent roster is a bit shorter than it was last year. We will therefore be holding two cards on one night less frequently, and this will reduce our number of cards overall. We hope that by next year we will be able to return to our normal schedule. “Finally, I want to acknowledge that GWF Commissioner Morpheus was right about one thing at his press conference. We too have heard that certain members of the UFSP are complaining about the violence in wrestling. We do not anticipate any serious problems, but we will be keeping a close eye on this situation. “Despite all of that, this is a very exciting day for us,” Grogan continued. “First of all, I am happy to announce the first members of our women’s division. They are Celestia, Voodoo Queen, Angel, Shadow, Dream Lover, Lady Pain, Kailani, Biker Chick, and Tamara. We welcome all of them, and we will soon be holding a tournament to determine their champion. “Finally, I am pleased to announce the official beginning of the USWF’s Sudden Death. I will reveal the matchups in a moment, all of which will involve CPC against non-CPC teams. The scoring for Sudden Death will be simple: points will be earned only for victories over members of the rival team established for each group. Two points will be awarded for a win by pinfall or submission, and one point for a win by disqualification or countout. At least one member of each losing team will be banished from the USWF for two years. Because we will be focusing on Sudden Death, the War Games will be cancelled for this year.” Grogan paused before continuing. “Now, let’s see who will be opposing whom,” he said. “I will announce each feud pairing, after which the team representatives will be allowed to present their rosters.” Grogan then introduced the following Sudden Death pairings:
Untamed Warriors vs. CPC Enforcement Division Incredible Badger, manager, Untamed Warriors: “First of all, I want to say goodbye to King Colerain and the Singer of Tales and to wish them well, and a special farewell to Cougar Claw. We’ve also lost two other wrestlers since last year: Maccavity and Daniel Streamline have joined other groups. In fact, Lycanthrope is our only returning member. However, our good news is that the remaining members of the Warband will be joining Lycanthrope on our roster. We welcome Guthlac, Venom, Scar, and Blitz to the Untamed Warriors.”
Silver Ace, manager, CPC Enforcement Division: “Last year I managed Kobe Power to the tag team titles. This year I am in charge of the most physical team in this federation. Our group will include Silverfang and Stargazer, the designated CPC enforcers. We have also added another new singles wrestler that should upset Marlicus and Astri: Gorthanor has agreed to join us. And, as a tag-team, we are pleased to say that Hurricane and Skyfire have patched up their differences, and Hurricane will be coming aboard to reform ‘Stormfront’ with his old partner. Sorry, Dagger Mack, but Hurricane belongs to us now.”
Krakan’s Agents of Fortune vs. CPC Cathedral of Calamity Bishop Hell, team leader, CPC Cathedral of Calamity: “We are the most frightening team in this federation, and now Father Steel is the champion. We are installing the Priest of Pain as a regular wrestler for Sudden Death, although he will also still accompany us to ringside as well. He will join me, Steel, and the Monastic Rule in stomping Krakan’s psychos.”
Dagger Mack, team leader, Agents of Fortune: “On behalf of the Invincible Krakan, I want to tell Bishop Hell that he’s an idiot and we are going to destroy him. Along with Homicide, the Barbaric Destroyer, Mammoth, and myself, we have recruited a new man. His name is Reckless Abandon, and he’s going to show the Cathedral what pain is all about. As for Hurricane—well, just one more CPC flunkie we have to get rid of. Remember, Hurricane: Krakan never forgets.”
Blackout vs. CPC Alien Assault Charon, team member, Blackout: “I guess I’ll make our statement. Scorpio and I are happy to be included in Sudden Death, and we are going to take care of Landiron’s Alien crew to show that we have arrived as a tag team.”
Pormak Landiron, manager, Alien Assault: “We joined the CPC because that’s where the power is. Torsir and Palgin will slap this weak human team down to show our appreciation to Colby.”
Maccavity and Armageddon vs. CPC Kobe Extreme Maccavity: “I’ll speak for our team. We don’t have a name, we have little in common, and we don’t even like each other much. But we all hate the CPC more, and so I’m joining up with Armageddon to stomp a hole in Kobe Extreme.”
Master Kobashi, manager, Kobe Extreme: “Most of you do not know me. I am the owner of the Kobe Gym, and I am the one who put Kobe Power together. Now we have added a third member to our group: the interstellar champion, Crow. Every one of our members is a champion, and we will show our superiority by winning Sudden Death.”
The Star Fighters vs. CPC Second Wave Billy Jo Boxer, manager, Star Fighters: “Yes, I’ve quit refereeing to become the manager of this team. I am pleased to introduce this new group: the Unknown Soldier, Toltecas, Daniel Streamline, Rock, and Slash. The five of them are as strong as a team can get, and we will wipe out the CPC.”
Parsec, manager, CPC Second Wave: “Dream on, Boxer. We’re the defending champions. We still have Mantric, Styles, Witherspoon, and Conrad Chase. And we’ve added a new man to take on Toltecas. His name is Casshan. You can’t touch us. We’re winners, and we’ll destroy your band of misfits.”
Imperial Powers vs. CPC Primary Colors Shadowmaster, manager, Primary Colors: “This is going to be fun. In addition to our leader, Marikel Magnifique, Pathfinder has returned to us from the GWF. And we’ve also added a new tag team. Once again, this is something that Astri and Marlicus won’t like, but Tarloc and Vascor, formerly Imperial Bounty, have become CPC Bounty. They’ve been one of the best teams in the USWF for two years, but they’ve been mismanaged by Astri. Now they’ve joined us, and we’ll help them get their revenge.”
Tirrion Astri, manager, Imperial Powers: “Well, we have some news, too. It was kind of you to think about how much you would upset us, but don’t worry about it. Frankly, Gorthanor was a huge disappointment anyway. And as for Tarloc and Vascor, I never trusted them. After all, they’re bounty hunters. We knew they were in it for the money, and they never have won the tag belts anyway, despite their talent. But we still have High Lord Marlicus, and we still have Captain Dalcost. Now we’ve added the last tag team the CPC wants to see on our side, and the last one anybody would expect to team up with us. I have to admit, for years we fought with Black Hawk, Crazy Horse, Jason, and Toltecas, and our men fought them well, but we’ve never had a tag team as good as the Star Patrol. Well, now we have a tag team that good. May I present our newest members, the winningest tag team in USWF history: Space Ranger and the Galactic Trooper, the Star Patrol!”
When Astri had finished, Marikel Magnifique stepped forward. “So you think you can compete with us? Let’s make it interesting. We’ll determine who gets exiled today. If we lose, Pathfinder is gone. If you lose, say goodbye to Marlicus.” Pathfinder, who had just returned from a six month exile to the GWF, stood up in the audience and began to protest. However, Astri’s response cut him off. “Why are you always betting Pathfinder’s career, Marikel?” the manager said. “Let’s change that wager a bit. If we lose, Marlicus and I will both go. If we win, you are the one who gets exiled.” Marikel shook his head. “I’m the CPC leader,” he said. “I can’t risk my own position . . .” Before Marikel could finish, Magnus Colby stunned everyone in attendance by walking out onto the stage. “As CEO of the Colby/Pelf Corporation, I will speak for my team,” he said. “We accept your proposition, Astri. Marikel, this will give you a little incentive. Your job is on the line. You’d better win now.” A speechless Marikel was unable to stutter out a response. The press conference ended without further incident, but the stage was set for a dramatic USWF Sudden Death in 2108.
GWWF REPORT
GWWF CONTINUES AFTER SPLIT The fifth annual year-opening press conference of the Galaxian Women’s Wrestling Federation took place on January 22, 2108 in the press room of the Europa Garden. Many of the GWWF’s wrestlers attended the event, as did GWF Commissioners Omega and Morpheus. GWWF Commissioner Zachary Carter spoke for his federation. “I am happy to welcome everyone here today,” Carter said. “You all know that we’ve had some problems recently that have led to many of our wrestlers leaving the federation. You also know that the GWWF has broken all ties to the USWF. However, we still expect a great year in 2108. “If you watched the USWF press conference earlier today, you know which of our wrestlers have left to join that federation’s women’s division,” the commissioner continued. “In addition, I have to announce that Rhea has decided to leave wrestling completely. We wish her the best of luck. “But in spite of all of that, we have a terrific talent roster. Amazonia, Thrash, Maxine, and Velar will all be competing as singles wrestlers. In addition, the following duos will also be competing as tag teams as well as in singles action: Supernova and Ms. Liberty, Hysteria and Devil Woman, Leather and Lace, Diva and White Star, Kianyra and Black Widow, and of course the champions, Anaxis and Cassandra.” Someone from the press corps shouted a question regarding why CPC members Velar, Cassandra, and Anaxis had chosen to remain in the GWWF. “I can’t speak for them,” Carter replied. “I wondered about that myself.” Suddenly Velar stood up in the audience. “Well, I can speak for us,” she said. “We’re here to help Mr. Colby and Ms. Pelf keep a foothold in this federation. We will continue to prove the CPC’s dominance, with me as the leader of our team.” “You’d better not speak for anybody but yourself,” Cassandra broke in. “You’re not leading anyone. Anaxis and I are still here because we’re the best tag team in this federation, and we’re here to defend our belts. We’ve worked too hard to get here to run off to a federation that won’t even have tag champions yet.” Carter smiled. “I can’t tell you how happy I am to see the CPC getting along so well,” he said. “But enough of that. I want to conclude by saying that I have been in conversation with no less than four women who may join us by the beginning of 2109. We are going to grow back to the size that we were last year. Thank you all for coming, and we’ll see you at the arenas.”

GWF 2108 Highlights
From WPU 11.2
ROCKET HAS A WINNER TWIN BLOOD WINS TAG BELTS AT GALACTIC WAR The first regular supercard of every GWF year is Galactic War. The event began in 2090 and is held at the huge Io Coliseum of Jupiter. Galactic War 2108 took place on February 19 before a crowd of 124, 677.
The main event at Galactic War is determined by the winners of the Galaxy Cup Singles and Tag Team Tournaments, who receive automatic title shots at the first supercard. Pegasus, as the winner of the singles tournament, was therefore granted a match with Galaxian Champion Mandrill and an opportunity to regain the belt he has held four times but not since early 2104. As winners of the tag team tournament, the still undefeated team of Twin Blood, Dreggs and Sleeze, earned a shot at Thunder and Overkill for the GWF tag belts. In addition, a win at the supercard would make the twin brothers just the fourteenth team in federation history to notch ten straight victories and put them just two short of the GWF record of twelve consecutive tag wins, a mark already shared with the two great Gladiator teams by both Dreggs and Sleeze with different partners.
Galactic War 2108: The Card Wraith pinned Maelstrom with a “Sudden Death” Monad defeated Buck Steele by disqualification after Buck transformed into Genocide Greg Valentine and Mike Fortune overcame Lottery when Valentine pinned Vyper Enigma won a seventeen man cruiserweight Battle Royal to earn a shot at the cruiserweight title. The Draconian Sheik downed Kati in a Barbed Wire Cage Match Mayhem pinned Malice in a Tirion Triple Threat Match also involving Code Enforcer I Mad Jester destroyed Defender of the Realm in a Titan Death Match Rebel Empire took the interplanetary tag team titles from the Ninja Assassins w Spike won by disqualification over Black Hawk with Bounty Hunter as the referee Wolf claimed the special matches title when he overcame Blazing Skull in a Flamsteed Street Fight Lance At-Las pinned Janus with a nomad knee drop in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Predator and Wrath outbattled Millennium in a cage match when Wrath pinned Heracles Anarchy blasted Archon with a “Crucifix Drop” in a Castor Chain Match Interplanetary Champion Dark Justice was disqualified against Prodigy for using the “Rod of Justice” Alpha Power slammed Desolation Factor with Massif as the referee Matador of M83 obliterated Paragon in a Scorpi King of the Ring Match Max Shield pounded Terminus in a Cygnus Adamantium Fist Match Twin Blood won the GWF tag team belts by defeating the Gladiators Mandrill nailed Pegasus with a “Mutant Mauler” to retain the Galaxian Heavyweight Belt.
Galactic War Wrap-Up Three championships changed hands at Galactic War, including both the galaxian and interplanetary tag team titles. Twin Blood continued its tremendous start by handling Thunder and Overkill with little difficulty. The contest between Rebel Empire and the Ninja Assassins was perhaps the best on the card, but in the end the Colonizers won the IP tag belts for the second time. Nothing was determined regarding whether the Mad Jester or the Defender of the Realm is the imposter, but on this day, at least, the Jester was by far the better wrestler. The madman had no problem at all in dominating his alter-ego. Pegasus put up a good fight against Mandrill, and it took a little interference from Sentry to help Mandrill gain the advantage. Overall, however, the champion scored a surprisingly clean win, handing Pegasus only his second loss of the year. As might be expected, the defeated superstar immediately began calling for a rematch.
LOWER WORLD STUNS REBEL EMPIRE FOR IP TAG BELTS The Lower World, deserted and belittled by even their own fellow Brymstonians, pulled the most surprising upset in the GWF so far this year when they defeated Rebel Empire to capture the interplanetary tag team titles. The title match took place at the Gemma Golden Crown Arena on March 7 and was expected to be a routine first defense for the newly crowned champions, who had won the belts at Galactic War. However, Death’s Head roared out and began a vicious assault on Nefarus that lasted for over five minutes. When Nefarus finally managed to tag out, Vendetta turned the tables and beat Erebus down for nearly another five minutes. Finally Death’s Head reentered and took the fight to the big man, finally pinning Vendetta with a “Halloween Hack” to score the pin. The championship is the first ever won by the Lower World and the first held by Erebus since his entry into the GWF. Death’s Head, along with being a three-time former heavy metal champion, also enjoyed a brief stint as galaxian champion in 2102.
TWIN BLOOD BREAKS TAG TEAM WIN STREAK RECORD GWF Tag Team Champions Twin Blood broke one of the longest standing records in GWF history by notching their thirteenth consecutive victory when they defeated Alpha Power at the Andromeda Nebula Pavilion on March 7. Johnny Rocket’s new tag team scored the record-breaking victory when Dreggs pinned Alpha Force. The champions then went on to score three more victories on following cards, running their streak to sixteen. They remain unbeaten at press time for Warrior Promotions Update. “I have to admit, this has been incredible,” Dreggs commented after the fourteenth win, a rematch with the former champions Thunder and Overkill. “Mace and I had a lot of success as a team, but nothing that felt like this. I mean, Sleeze and I are undefeated for two months. No one has ever done this. I suppose we have to lose one sooner or later, but I’m sure happy I joined the Rocket Men right now.”
Johnny Rocket was even more enthusiastic. “Can you clinch the tag team of the year award in just two months?” he asked happily. “If you can, we’ve done it. Look at this team! We’ve beaten everyone: Alpha Power, Disorder X, Predator and Wrath, the Gladiators—everyone! No one can touch us. This is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me as a manager. The Rocket Men are going straight to the top this year.”
Even the opponents of Twin Blood have been amazed by their success. “I have to admit, they are really looking good,” Alpha Force admitted after Alpha Power’s loss. “They got a sort of a quick roll-up on me tonight, but it was a clean win. Everyone cools off sooner or later, but right now they deserve to be the champions. They are better than anyone else at this point.” Both members of Twin Blood shared the previous GWF record for consecutive tag team victories as members of different teams. Dreggs and Mace won twelve straight in 2100, while Grunge and Sleeze accomplished the feat in 2103 and ‘04. The first team to win twelve straight was Brute and Massacre in 2092 and 93, while Thunder and Overkill tied the mark in 2106.
ENIGMA DUMPS PRODIGY TO REGAIN CRUISERWEIGHT BELT Enigma, the Masked Assassin high flyer who has struggled throughout the early part of 2108, took advantage of the title shot he earned by winning the cruiserweight battle royal at Galactic War and defeated Prodigy to win the GWF cruiserweight championship on March 22 at the Mira Ceti War Memorial. Prodigy started the match fast and took an early advantage, but although he controlled the action for several minutes he never had the challenger in real trouble. Enigma finally took over and battered the champion, maintaining the upper hand for several minutes before pinning Prodigy with the “Feet of Fury.” With the victory, Enigma becomes the cruiserweight champion for the third time. Prodigy ended his impressive reign of over seven months with seventeen successful defenses, a record for the cruiserweight belt.
WRATH WINS FIRST GWF BELT The half –Aethran powerhouse Wrath, who is a former USWF heavyweight and tag team champion and who held that federation’s heavy metal title for all but three weeks in a six year period, captured his first title in the GWF when he defeated Dark Justice for the interplanetary strap at the Altair Crystal Palace on March 22. Wrath came to the GWF primarily to work as part of a tag team with his half-brother, former GWF interplanetary champion Predator. In late 2107, however, Wrath defeated Dark Justice in a non-title match, thus earning consideration for a title shot. This year Wrath started slowly, losing his first three matches, but when he put together a streak of wins to even his record, Commissioners Morpheus and Omega granted him his opportunity.
In the title match, Wrath was as dominant as he has ever been. The angry young powerhouse pounded the champion all over the ring and fended off interference by Krakan before blasting Dark Justice with his “Reprisal” finisher three consecutive times to gain the win. The victory was made all the sweeter for Wrath by the fact that his victim is managed by Krakan, with whom Wrath has feuded since Krakan drove Wrath’s tag team partner Fury insane and put him out of wrestling in late 2102.
TROUBLE BREWING FOR GENESIS The Genesis team appears to be having internal problems that are growing more and more public. The more Vertigo and Max Shield push Wraith toward tag team action, the more Wraith resists. Meanwhile, Buck Steele continues to see his control over his alter-ego Genocide weaken with each passing week. “Buck is really having problems,” Vertigo stated in a recent interview. “We all are actually. Our special powers after the Omicron event have always been unstable, and as time has passed we are all feeling a bit shaky. But since Buck had the biggest change, he is also suffering the most. He is in no shape to be a part of a tag team. We need for Wraith to think of the group and to join Blizzard in a tag team for us.” However, Wraith remained unmoving in his refusal to follow Vertigo’s wishes. “I’ve done my tag team thing,” he said. “I was a part of Genesis Prime for years, and what did we do? We never won anything. Now Vertigo wants me to go back to that? No way. I like singles, and I’m staying where I am.”
USWF REPORT
GROGAN AGAIN CENTER OF CONTROVERSY USWF Commissioner Grogan, who was relieved of his duties as GWF Commissioner in 2106 amid a cloud of scandal, has once again become a center of complaint and speculation. This time, however, the dissatisfaction is coming from a very different source: the leaders of the Colby/Pelf Corporation. Since becoming USWF Commissioner for the second time at the beginning of 2107, Grogan has blatantly favored CPC wrestlers in most of his decisions. In recent weeks, however, the commissioner has appeared to deal more even-handedly with many situations. The incident which has drawn the most attention took place at the Cube, when Captain Dalcost injured Marikel, putting the CPC leader of the shelf for the Star Challenge Tournaments. Grogan passed up an opportunity to suspend Dalcost and thus remove him from the tournaments as well. Later on the same card, CPC member Skyfire was injured by Charon and Scorpio, but once again Grogan did not take action. The CPC complaints about Grogan actually began in late 2107 when he ordered an all-CPC title match between Mantric and Father Steel at the year-ending Center Stage Spectacular against the wishes of Marikel and Magnus Colby. However, the protests now seem to be growing in intensity and frequency. “The commissioner seems to have fallen asleep,” Marikel complained. “He’s not doing his job. I was injured in a cowardly attack after the bell, and he didn’t do anything. He’s been ignoring things too much lately. Something may have to be done about him.” Untamed Warriors manager the Incredible Badger, one of Grogan’s most outspoken critics throughout 2107, confessed his confusion. “I have to admit, he has made some decisions lately that I actually agreed with,” Badger said. “I don’t know what is happening. We all know he’s on Colby’s payroll. Colby hand-picked him for this job. But I guess we’ll just have to wait to see what happens.” The commissioner defended his decisions with little comment. “I’m just doing my job as I see fit,” Grogan stated. “I’ve always said that my decisions were fair. If Marikel doesn’t like what I’m doing, that’s really not my concern. Let him take it up with the board of governors and see if they listen to him.”
BAD DAY FOR CPC AT STAR CHALLENGE The USWF held its ninth annual Star Challenge Invitational on March 4, 2108 at Fire Island. The main attractions at the Challenge are two tournaments, one for single wrestlers and another for tag teams. Participants in the tournaments are invited by the USWF Commissioner’s office. All matches in the tournaments are fought under Titan Death rules, with the winners awarded automatic title shots at the USWF heavyweight and tag team championships. In addition, Star Challenge 2108 also featured the semi-finals and finals of the tournament to crown a USWF women’s champion. USWF Heavyweight Champion Father Steel made it to the finals of the singles tournament, but he was upset in the championship by Daniel Streamline. Streamline, a former CPC member who is now one of the prime targets for Colby’s forces, had to go through Mantric, Venom, and Pathfinder to reach the finals. A tougher road is hard to imagine, but the rising new star survived all of his challenges to earn the victory in his first trip to the finals. Steel made his second appearance in the main event, having finished second to Crazy Horse in 2106. On the tag team side, the Star Patrol returned from a two-year stint in the GWF to become the first three-time Star Challenge winners, overcoming USWF Tag Team Champs Kobe Power in the semi-finals and Stormfront in the finals after a lackluster performance against the Ivy League in round one. The Star Patrol had previously won the tag team tournament in 2101 and 2104.
STAR CHALLENGE 2108: THE CARD Singles Tournament Qualifying Matches Guthlac downed Gorthanor; Venom hammered Stargazer; Shawn Styles pinned Maccavity; Unknown Soldier defeated Silverfang but was attacked and injured by the CPC after the match.
Tag Team Tournament Round One (Top four seeds received byes.) Blackout (Charon and Scorpio) tripped up Alien Assault; the Star Patrol survived against the Ivy League; Stormfront (Hurricane and Skyfire) pounded the Monastic Rule; CPC Bounty got by Full Load (Mammoth and Barbaric Destroyer).
Singles Tournament Round One Father Steel slammed Unknown Soldier; Lycanthrope outlasted Captain Dalcost; High Lord Marlicus crushed Guthlac; Bishop Hell burned Homicide; Dagger Mack battered Shawn Styles; Pathfinder downed Toltecas; Venom upset Crow; Daniel Streamline overcame Mantric.
Tag Team Tournament Round Two Kobe Power crushed Blackout; the Star Patrol defeated Armageddon; Stormfront stunned Rebellion; the Flatliners topped CPC Bounty.
Singles Tournament Round Two Father Steel blasted Lycanthrope; Bishop Hell upset High Lord Marlicus; Pathfinder hammered Dagger Mack; Daniel Streamline beat Venom.
Tag Team Tournament Semifinals The Star Patrol upset USWF Tag Team Champions Kobe Power when Galactic Trooper pinned Shouji Kanemura; Stormfront shocked the Flatliners when Skyfire pinned Slash.
Singles Tournament Semifinals Bishop Hell withdrew from the tournament, giving his teammate Father Steel a bye into the finals; Daniel Streamline stunned Pathfinder of Ceres with an “All Pro Piledriver.”
Women’s Title Tournament Final Voodoo Queen won the USWF women’s title by defeating Shadow with the help of a fast count by special referee Scourge.
Tag Team Tournament Final The Star Patrol became the first three-time winners of the Star Challenge Tag Tournament with a win over Stormfront when Galactic Trooper pinned Hurricane with a “Trooper Tackle.”
Singles Tournament Final Daniel Streamline took less than three minutes to catch USWF Heavyweight Champion Father Steel with an “All Pro Piledriver” and gain the win despite a slow count by special referee Scourge.
Star Challenge Wrap-Up Few things could make the Colby/Pelf Corporation more upset than seeing Daniel Streamline defeat Father Steel and win a title shot. Streamline, who came to the USWF as the Hollywood Stud and as a tag team partner for Shawn Styles, has been second perhaps only to the Unknown Soldier in gaining the animosity of the CPC. This year, however, Streamline has eight straight wins and has defeated both Father Steel and Interstellar Champion Crow, also a CPC member. He was outstanding at the Star Challenge, and although he appeared to catch Steel off guard to score the pin, he earned the victory by knocking the big man unconscious, giving referee Scourge no choice but to count the pin. The Star Patrol was also terrific, taking out Armageddon and Kobe Power on their way to the championship. The best tag team in USWF history may finally be back in form, and they were promised by Commissioner Grogan that they would receive their title shot immediately.
Best match of the day was probably the Unknown Soldier’s win over Silverfang in a brutal match. Unfortunately, Silverfang and Stargazer attacked the Soldier after the bell and injured him, thus making the Soldier an easy target for Father Steel in round two.
MARLICUS MAKES HIS CHALLENGE Frustrated by Commissioner Grogan’s refusal to grant him a title match against USWF Champion Father Steel, High Lord Marlicus took matters into his own hands on March 25 at the Prantares United Center. Although the High Lord was finally granted his opportunity, his actions may turn out to have disastrous consequences for the Imperial Powers in Sudden Death. Marlicus was scheduled to fight Bishop Hell at the United Center, and the former USWF champion dominated the match. After inflicting far more punishment than necessary, Marlicus finally pinned the Bishop, but he then continued the beating after the bell until the Bishop’s teammate Father Steel emerged from the dressing room. “Stop where you are!” Marlicus demanded as Steel approached. “Come any closer and I’ll break his leg. You and me are going to negotiate, Steel. I want a title shot. Do you want to save your sick buddy here? You go tell Grogan to give me my match, or the Bishop will be gone for the rest of the year after what I’ll do to him.” Commissioner Grogan stepped out of the backstage areas and spoke briefly with Steel. “Alright, Marlicus,” Grogan answered. “Here’s the deal. Steel is going to fight Streamline for the title at the Maxus Trinity Towers on April 4. Since Pathfinder has been begging for a shot too, you can fight him the same night, and we’ll put it in a cage. Whoever wins, you or Pathfinder, will fight the winner of Steel and Streamline at the Aethra War Dome on April 17. That’s the best offer you’re going to get. Take it or leave it.” The High Lord considered the proposal for a moment. “Okay, Grogan,” he said at last. “But you’d better keep your word, or someone will be sorry. I will get my shot, and no one is going to stop me.” Marlicus then accepted the offer by throwing the unconscious Bishop out of the ring. However, the night had not yet ended when the Bishop’s troops took their revenge. Immediately after Marikel Magnifique upset Captain Dalcost later on the card, Brother Tamor and Brother Garis stormed the ring and joined Marikel in a brutal beating of Marlicus’ top lieutenant. Dalcost suffered a re-injury of the broken ankle that had kept him out for the last two months of 2107 and the beginning of 2108. He is now expected to miss as much as three more months of ring action. Commissioner Grogan finally took action on the situation, suspending Marikel and the Monastic Rule for one month. However, without the services of the talented Dalcost, the Imperial Powers are outnumbered and at a serious disadvantage against the CPC’s elite Primary Colors team.
GWWF REPORT
VOODOO QUEEN IS NEW USWF CHAMP Voodoo Queen, a three-time former GWWF champion, became the first USWF women’s champ with a victory over Shadow at the Star Challenge. Voodoo Queen reached the finals by defeating Lady Pain earlier in the night, while Shadow had to go through Celestia. The title match lasted for seven minutes, with the advantage going back and forth. However, when the Queen was finally able to catch her opponent with her “Queen’s Curse” finisher, the fast count of special referee Scourge left Shadow no time to respond and gave the victory to the CPC star. “I’m back where I should be,” Voodoo Queen said after the card. “My title was stolen from me in the GWWF, but now I’m on top again. No one can compete with me. I am going to rule this federation just as I did in the GWWF.” Shadow expressed a slightly different view of the matter. “I was robbed by a fast count,” she stated. “But okay. That’s fine. Next time I’ll just knock her out, and then all the favoritism in the world won’t help her. That belt should be mine, and it will be . . . soon.” AETHRAN AMAZONS END ENCHANTRESSES’ REIGN The long reign as tag team champions enjoyed by the Enchantresses finally came to an end when they were beaten by the Aethran Amazons on March 7 at the Gemma Golden Crown Arena. The Enchantresses had struggled throughout the beginning of 2108, and against the Aethrans their failings finally caught up with them. The contest was a good match, but in the end the speed of Hysteria and the power of Devil Woman were too much to overcome as Anaxis was finally pinned by Hysteria for the win. With the loss, the question quickly arose as to whether Cassandra and Anaxis would remain in the GWWF, as they had stated clearly at the beginning of the year that they chose not to go to the USWF’s new women’s division because they wanted to defend their titles. “I’m staying where I am,” Anaxis answered when posed the question. “I have no wish to go to the USWF. I think Cassandra feels the same way. We’re still the best team in women’s wrestling, and we plan to get the belts back. Those two Aethran barbarians better be ready, ‘cause they just got lucky, and their luck is going to run out.”

GWF 2108 Highlights
From WPU 11.3
UFSP HINTS AT SANCTIONS AGAINST GWF Two recent violent incidents have led to an increase in the criticism of professional wrestling that has arisen from some representatives of the United Federation of Star and Planets.
The first of the situations that led to the current rumblings happened at the Deneb Sports Arena on April 6. Talon was defeated by Mutant in a very competitive cruiserweight match, but after the bell the young Fighting Titan was attacked and injured by Mutant, Greg Valentine, and Mike Fortune. Krakan orchestrated the assault, obviously still bent on destroying anyone associated with Lord Nexus. Talon suffered several badly cracked ribs and a concussion. He is expected to miss nearly two months of action. Commissioners Omega and Morpheus suspended the Deadly Militia trio, but only for one week.
Four days later at the Procyon Sports Stadium, an even more violent incident took place. This time the injuries were inflicted during the match as Terminus met Defender of the Realm in a Scorpi King of the Ring contest. Terminus was positively dominant, but instead of claiming the victory by throwing the Defender out of the ring, he continued to inflict damage long past the point of necessity. With the Defender bleeding badly and practically unconscious, Commander Sam finally came to the ring and threw in the towel to stop the massacre. The Defender was expected to miss approximately one month of action.
UFSP President Cordanus was quick to criticize the violence. “These recent incidents are exactly the problem that we in the UFSP see with wrestling,” he stated. “Such violence and aggression do nothing more than encourage similar actions in our societies. The GWF has had these incidents happening for years. We have seen wrestlers blinded, scarred, permanently crippled, burned, and in one case even killed in the ring. Now they are instituting championships to reward the wrestlers who are the most successful in these brutal matches. It has to stop. If the GWF and other organizations can’t control their employees, the UFSP may have to step in and take some action.”
The GWF commissioners’ office responded to the president’s comments with some concern. “We warned everyone at the beginning of the year that this was a possibility,” Omega said. “Cordanus and his friends in the UFSP are out to get us, and unfortunately they have some pretty powerful backers. Of course, his claims are ridiculous. We still claim that wrestling is a healthy outlet for our violent tendencies. But being wrong will not necessarily stop him.”
“We are going to have to do a better job of policing ourselves,” Omega continued. “That could mean more suspensions and fines for attacks like the one Krakan’s men pulled on Talon. But we’re not going to be pushed around. We may have to be careful, but we won’t stop doing what we do best.”
ALPHA POWER SNAPS TWIN BLOOD’S STREAK The record-setting winning streak of Twin Blood came to an end on April 1 as the tag team champions were defeated by Alpha Power at the Hyades Pyramid in a non-title match. Although the champions had defeated Alpha Power earlier in the year, the match at the Pyramid belonged almost completely to their challengers. Chaos started the match and dominated Dreggs for several minutes. Both members of Twin Blood made a valiant attempt to fight back, but they were never able to generate any real offense before Dreggs finally went down to a “Tomahawk Thrust” by Alpha Force at the seven minute mark.
Twin Blood’s streak ended at sixteen wins, four more than the previous GWF record for consecutive tag team victories. After the match, Dreggs shrugged off the loss. “We’re still the champions,” said the former member of W. A. R. “Hey, we were undefeated for over three months. No one has ever done that before. It had to end sometime, and Alpha Force and Chaos are a great team. I’m sure they’ll get the title shot at the Cosmic Mayhem supercard, and they deserve it. But they’d better come ready for a fight, because with the belts on the line things will be a lot different than they were tonight.”
PRODIGY REGAINS CRUISERWEIGHT BELT Prodigy became GWF cruiserweight champion for the third time when he defeated Enigma at the Mizar Solarsphere on April 16 to regain the belt he had lost to the Assassin high-flyer less than a month earlier.
Enigma started the match well, but after four minutes of action Prodigy took control and never looked back. The CPC star dominated the champion, finally scoring the pin with the “Perfect Singles Finisher” at the nine minute mark.
Enigma’s third cruiserweight title reign was far from successful, as he lost several non-title matches and did not manage a single successful defense. Prodigy owns the two longest stints as cruiserweight champion since the creation of the belt.
WRAITH FINALLY AGREES TO TAG MATCH After several months of pressure from Vertigo and Max Shield, Wraith finally agreed to join forces with Blizzard in a new tag team for the Genesis group. “I’m still not crazy about this,” Wraith stated. “I don’t know for sure how long it will last, but we’ll give it a try. But if we’re going to do this, let’s do it right. I’ll work with Blizzard to get our timing down, and then we’ll make our debut at Cosmic Mayhem against Rebel Empire. I know Nefarus and Vendetta don’t want to fight me, but let’s see if they answer this challenge. If Blizzard and me can beat the Colonizers, then we’ll give this tag team thing a try for the rest of the year.”
Rebel Empire immediately accepted the challenge. Genesis manager Vertigo expressed relief at Wraith’s change in attitude. “This is going to be the best thing for everyone,” Vertigo said. “Wraith and Blizzard can be a great team. The Colonizers had better be ready for a war.”
COSMIC MAYHEM 2108 Cosmic Mayhem is the third oldest of the GWF supercards and is held annually at the Polaris Interstellar Stadium. This year’s event took place on April 25 before the usual sellout crowd.
The main event for Cosmic Mayhem 2108 was set to be a galaxian heavyweight title match between GWF Champion Mandrill and Paragon, who earned the shot by defeating Mayhem in a playoff ordered by the commissioners’ office. In addition, Twin Blood agreed to put up the tag team belts against Alpha Power after Alpha Power broke the champions’ record-breaking winning streak, the half-Aethran powerhouse Wrath signed to defend the interplanetary title against Heracles, and the Lower World was challenged by the Ninja Assassins for the interplanetary tag belts. Max Shield and Terminus were also set to meet in a Scorpi King of the Ring Match, and Archon signed to meet Blazing Skull in a Castor Chain Match. Cruiserweight Champion Prodigy and Special Matches Champion Wolf both missed the card due to injuries.
Cosmic Mayhem 2108 Highlights: The Card Feminine Fury downed the Enchantresses when Supernova pinned Cassandra Blade finally dropped Lycosa with a “Switchblade Kick” in a terrific match Skinhead nailed Enigma with a “Bad Attitude” to win a Tirion Triple Threat Match that also included Rising Sun Monad overcame Lance At-Las with a “Surfboard Submission” in a no disqualification match Cygnus Strikeforce surprised Disorder X when Maelstrom drilled Mace with an “Annihilator Edge” Jack of Diamonds beat Janus with a “Black Diamond” in a Turnbuckle Shock Match Painmaster got an easy win over Buck Steele in a cage match The Ninja Assassins defeated Interplanetary Tag Team Champions The Lower World by disqualification The tag team contest pitting Rebel Empire against Wraith and Blizzard was declared no contest when Wraith attacked his own partner Heracles won by disqualification against Interplanetary Champion Wrath Blazing Skull hammered Archon in a Castor Chain Match Predator pounded Malice with a “Guerilla Death Drop” in a Titan Death Hardcore Match Max Shield dominated Terminus in a Scorpi King of the Ring Match Alpha Power won the galaxian tag team belts by defeating Twin Blood when Alpha Force pinned Sleeze with a “Tomahawk Thrust” after an “Alpha Power Combo” Mandrill retained the galaxian heavyweight championship by defeating Paragon
Cosmic Mayhem Wrap-Up This year’s Cosmic Mayhem was a great card with numerous exciting matches but only one title change. Twin Blood’s incredible early-year run came to an end as they lost the tag team belts to Alpha Power. The match was a tough contest, with both teams giving all they had for fourteen grueling minutes before Alpha Force finally got the pin on Sleeze. Chaos thus became a tag team champion for the first time in his incredible career. Alpha Force has held the tag titles twice previously with Star Warrior. Predator continued his hot streak with what seemed to be an easy win over Malice, running his string of victories to eight. His half-brother, Interplanetary Champion Wrath, was disqualified during a brawl out side the ring with Heracles. Best match of the night came early on the card as Lycosa and Blade put on a terrific high-flying show for nearly twenty minutes before Blade finally scored the win.
BOTH TAG TITLES CHANGE HANDS ON SAME NIGHT A major shift in the power atop the GWF tag team ranks took place on May 9 as the federation crowned both new galaxian and interplanetary tag team champions on separate cards. The first title change took place at the Mimas Spectrum, where Rebel Empire challenged Interplanetary Tag Team Champs The Lower World. The Brymstone duo got off to a strong start, hammering Nefarus down for over five minutes. Finally Vendetta managed to tag in, and he proceeded to devastate both members of the Lower World. The champions mounted a comeback at the nine minute mark, and the momentum swung back and forth several times before Vendetta finally pinned Death’s Head with “The Big Fall.” Rebel Empire became interplanetary tag team champions for the third time, but both of their two previous reigns were short-lived. The Colonizer duo has yet to win the galaxian belts. Later the same evening on a card at the Ceres Amphitheater, Twin Blood was granted their rematch with new Tag Team Champions Alpha Power. The contest was a classic, with both teams performing well, but Sleeze took an especially brutal beating from the champions. In the end, however, Dreggs caught Chaos off guard with a “nuclear charge” and pinned him to reclaim the belts for Twin Blood. “I knew we could get the belts back,” Johnny Rocket bragged after the match. “Now we’re going into the War Games as the champions. Alpha Force and Chaos are a great team, but this is the year for Twin Blood and the Rocket Men. Nothing is going to stop us—not the gladiators, not the CPC, not anyone. Get used to seeing my men on top, ‘cause we’re staying here.”
TEAMS ANNOUNCE ROSTERS AT WAR GAMES PRESS CONFERENCE The GWF held its annual War Games Press Conference on May 6, 2108 in the Deimos Intergalactic Arena Media Center. For the sixth consecutive year, Qualitar served as the Master of Ceremonies.
Qualitar: Welcome, everyone. It’s a pleasure to be here again. As you can all see, we have a larger crowd this year. I understand from the commissioners that twelve teams have entered the War Games, back up from the ten last year. The scoring system will be the same as it has always been, with one minor change: Four Weapons of Destruction and Leather Strap Matches will be worth one extra point to the winner, as Torture Chamber and Barbed Wire Cage Matches have always been. Now let’s get on with the proceedings here. The order of our speakers was determined at random. Nefarus, you drew the first spot.
Nefarus: And that is only fitting. The Colonizers will start first, and we will be in first when it is all over. Mandrill is the most dominant GWF champion ever. Vendetta and I are ready to claim the GWF tag titles. With Wraith joining us and Painmaster on board, no one can touch us.
Vertigo: Right. Has it occurred to you that your team now has more wrestlers from Omicron than it does Mandrill’s invaders? You’re a bunch of traitors to your own people.
Nefarus: And you’re a bunch of losers. I prefer to be where I am.
Johnny Rocket: Gee, Qualitar, we made it for all of one minute before you lost control of this press conference this year. Is that a new record?
Qualitar: I’m sure it’s a record for you to have remained quiet for so long, at least. Mr. Guile, you’re next.
Commander Sam and Johnny Rocket (together, surprised) : Mr. Guile?
Reynard B. Guile: What? Are you so surprised that someone is actually showing me respect? Well, you’ll all show me respect before this is over. My “Hired Guns” will be the surprise team of the War Games. As you know, we have Mace, Grunge, and Lycosa. I am happy to inform Rocket that we have also signed a new member: Brainstorm! And to announce our last two members, I will present my new business partner: Darkos.
Darkos: That’s right. Enigma has walked out on me, like that ingrate Manslaughter did last year. But me and the Ninja Assassins will be joining the Hired Guns and the CPC for the War Games.
Rocket: Let me review this. Brainstorm is a traitor. The Masked Assassins are sellouts. And Enigma finally decided that Darkos is a lousy manager who will take him nowhere. No big surprises there. By the way, Darkos, do you know where Enigma is, exactly?
Darkos: No. He said he got a better offer . . . Rocket: Well, I know, and since I think it’s my turn, I’ll tell you. In addition to Skinhead, Sleeze and Dreggs, I would like to announce that two major stars will be joining the Rocket Men for the War Games. One of them is, of course, Enigma. Surprise, you masked creep. I’ll bet you’re glad we can’t see your face now. And the other new addition will be going after the CPC, especially Paragon: The Matador of M83.
Qualitar: Fine. Now that Rocket has introduced his team, maybe he’ll shut up.
Rocket: Don’t count on it, fish-face. I’m the only thing that keeps these things entertaining.
Vertigo: I’m not sure I’d say that, Rocket, but I do have to congratulate you on your new signings. Anything that slows down the CPC and the Masked Assassins has to be good. I want to announce that with the cowardly departure of Wraith, we have reached an agreement with Lord Nexus to have Titan Attack join Max Shield, Buck Steel, and Blizzard as members of Genesis for the War Games.
Vengeance: I don’t know why all of the rest of you even bother. Now with Spike coming home to join me, Malice, Thunder, and Overkill, the Gladiators of Aethra will walk over everyone to win these Games.
Massacre: Don’t count on it. My men have already proven that we can stop you. Wolf can tear any of you apart. Predator and Wrath are the hottest wrestlers in the federation. And with Black Hawk and Crazy Horse, we can guarantee you’re not walking over anyone.
Vengeance: Your team of half-breeds and Aethran wannabes can’t touch us. And as for you, your day is coming soon enough. I promise.
Krakan: Well, how about my team, you Aethran scum? I’ve been waiting for this since you and your bunch of thugs put me in that neck brace. With Dark Justice, Mike Fortune, and Greg Valentine, I have the men to help me get my revenge. And just to make sure, we’re added Cygnus Strikeforce to our roster for the War Games.
Lord Nexus: Krakan is calling someone else’s team a bunch of thugs?
Commander Sam: Right. And the inevitable finally happened: U. S. Traitor joins forces with the only manager as mercenary as he is.
Krakan: Keep talking, you pukes. We’ll have time for your men, too.
Terrorist: No, Krakan. You have enough problems. Don’t worry about the Gladiators. Worry about us. With Splatter, Vyper, and the Sheik, we were too much for you. But now the Terrorists have added Blazing Skull and Anarchy for the War Games. And all we really want is revenge on you.
Krakan: Dream on. And take off the stupid mask so we can see who you are. Your voice doesn’t sound like either Khan or Marcel, but it doesn’t matter. We’ll crush you.
Qualitar: Commander Sam, you’re up.
Commander Sam: With the Canadian Bomber returning to the USWF, we were left with only Jack of Diamonds, Defender of the Realm, and the Code Enforcers. So we went out and got two more men. We welcome Archon and Blade to the FDF for the War Games.
Doomsayer: Isn’t that exciting? But you’ll go nowhere, because my men will stop you. With Mayhem, the Mad Jester, Monad, and Desolation Factor, I have more than enough power to settle old scores with you.
Qualitar: Sounds like you may have trouble coming, Sam. Star Warrior, you’re up.
Rocket: Hey, is anyone else noticing how Qualitar is sucking up to the CPC managers?
Star Warrior: I think you may have a point for once, Rocket.
Rocket: Oh, thanks. With that and Vertigo’s comment, I’m feeling really loved here. Is everyone forgetting what side I’m on?
Thantos: Don’t worry. Rocket. The CPC will never forget.
Star Warrior: Anyway, our roster will remain the same, with Pegasus, Kati, Lance At-Las, Rising Sun, and Alpha Power.
Thantos: That’s not enough, Star Warrior. With Paragon, Janus, Terminus, Prodigy, and Millennium, we have you outclassed. You’d better re-think things.
Star Warrior: Don’t worry, Thantos. We’ll keep up with Penthouse Suite just fine. And your men may all be gone by the end of the year, anyway. And from the look of things, Qualitar may go with you.
Rocket: Which would be such a blessing for all of wrestling . . .
Qualitar: I resent the implications of your statements, Star Warrior. And as for you, Rocket . . .
Commissioner Omega: Enough! Qualitar, if you can’t keep things under control, then I’ll end this. That’s all of the team representatives, anyway. Let’s break this up before it gets any worse. We’ll see everyone at the arenas.
USWF Report
NIGHT OF SURPRISES AND DRAMA ON MAXUS The USWF card at the Maxus Trinity Towers on April 4 took on a supercard atmosphere as Father Steel prepared to finally defend his title against Star Challenge winner Daniel Streamline. By the end of the night, Steel was still the champion but the federation had been stunned in numerous ways. The surprises began after the second match when an unexpected guest appeared at the interview area: Jason the Canadian Bomber, a former USWF interstellar champion who had been performing in the GWF since the beginning of 2108. Jason took the microphone and called Tirrion Astri and High Lord Marlicus to the stage. “I heard what happened to Dalcost,” the Bomber began, “and I know it was partially my fault. The CPC reinjured the same ankle I broke last year. I feel responsible, so I’m here to do what’s right. If you want me, I’ll take Dalcost’s place on your roster until he comes back.” As Marlicus and Astri conferred, the other members of the Imperial Powers, Space Ranger and the Galactic Trooper, came out and convinced the High Lord to accept the Bomber’s offer. The group left the stage to the cheers of the fans, but the evening’s drama was just beginning. Maccavity was scheduled to take on Witherspoon in a cruiserweight match, but the high-flying superstar did not appear when introduced. Maccavity’s Sudden Death teammates Armageddon would later speculate that the CPC had somehow detained him. However, just as Commissioner Grogan was about to declare a forfeit, another surprise guest appeared: former USWF tag team champion Hammer. “I don’t know what’s going on with Maccavity,” Hammer announced. “But I’m not doing anything tonight. If Witherfork needs an opponent, here I am.” Witherspoon angrily accepted the challenge and was defeated by Hammer in less than five minutes. The card also featured the finals of the federation’s hardcore title tournament. To the surprise of nearly everyone, Hurricane defeated Crow in a Titan Death Hardcore Match to claim the belt. Finally, in the main event, USWF Champion Father Steel took less than one minute to choke slam Streamline and retain his title,
MACCAVITY CHANGES SIDES After Maccavity’s failure to appear at the Maxus Trinity Towers, many USWF observers feared that he had met with some sort of accident. However, the speculation ended on April 12 at the Astral Gardens when the three-time USWF champion made his dramatic return. Maccavity’s Sudden Death teammates Armageddon challenged Kobe Power for the USWF tag team belts on the card. Around four minutes into the match, Shouji Kanemura knocked down Carnage and went for a cover. As Slaughterhouse moved to make the save, Maccavity leaped out of the crowd and into the ring. Instead of helping his partners, however, Maccavity caught Slaughterhouse with a jumping kick that knocked him to the floor, allowing Kobe Power to pin Carnage and win the match. As Maccavity walked away from the ring with the winners, Slaughterhouse grabbed a microphone. “I knew we couldn’t trust you, you little punk,” he said. “So you’ve sold out to Colby. Well, we knew something wasn’t right, so we already talked someone into replacing you. He’ll be on Aethra for the next card at the War Dome, and he’s a former GWF champion. Be ready, because we’re a long way from finished.” Later that evening, Maccavity explained his actions. “So I’m a sellout, eh?” he asked. “Whatever. That’s better than hanging around with Armageddon and losing Sudden Death. At least I’ll still be here next year. No, I’m not joining Kobe Extreme. Mr. Colby hasn’t yet told me what team I’ll be on. And as for Armageddon’s new partner—do I care? So they got Raven to come back, obviously. What other former GWF champion is available? But he was here last year, and he looked pretty human. Let him come.”
SUDDEN DEATH ROSTERS CHANGE AFTER WARDOME CARD A huge card at the Aethra Wardome on April 17 ended with Father Steel retaining his USWF title after a brutal fight with High Lord Marlicus and with several roster changes and incidents that may affect the outcome of Sudden Death. The first major announcement of the night came when Halcón Oro returned from the GWF and was introduced as the newest member of the CPC Enforcement Division. However, Oro lost in his first match to Hammer, who has yet to join a team. Armageddon then introduced their new partner, who made his debut against Mammoth. However, contrary to speculation, the newcomer was not Raven, but another former member of W. A. R.: Holocaust. The big man looked better than ever as he ran through Mammoth and then made these comments: “Where have I been? I’ve been in Dimension X, feuding with Vector One. But that’s not important. What matters is that I’ve got things to settle with Colby. If you remember, his group started out as my group. Remember the Dominators: me, Ram, Powerhouse, Terak, and Dreadnaught? We started a team, and I was the leader, but Colby bought us out and then cast me aside. Well, now he’s going to regret that. I’m gonna start by crushing Crow, and then I’m gonna run right through all of his stars to be champion of this federation.” Maccavity also finally made his affiliation known as he joined Parsec’s Second Wave team. Not too mysteriously, the newest CPC member was also granted an immediate shot at Cruiserweight Champion Charon. What was more surprising was the ease with which Charon dominated the match and pinned Maccavity, even after interference by Mantric. Finally, in a stunning upset, Pathfinder was clearly losing to the rookie Reckless Abandon when Tarloc and Vascor ran to the ring to interfere. The referee called for a disqualification of Pathfinder, but the CPC trio continued their assault for several minutes. Reckless Abandon was not seriously injured, but USWF Commissioner Grogan suspended Pathfinder and CPC Bounty for nearly a month, calling the attack “totally unprovoked and unnecessary.”
QUEEN’S COMMENTARY “Queen’s Commentary” features the observations of former GWF star and now USWF color commentator Killer Queen. “You have to hand it to Father Steel. The big man is holding two titles, the USWF heavyweight belt and the heavy metal strap, and no one has come close to taking either. He has manhandled nearly everyone he has fought, including High Lord Marlicus in their battle at the Aethra War Dome. At times Steel looks unstoppable. However, he also lost a recent match to Marlicus, giving the High Lord another title shot at the upcoming Andromeda Explosion supercard. I feel a little strange cheering for Marlicus after all of these years of booing him, especially since he hasn’t really changed. But as bad as he may be, he’s better than the CPC, and at least he hasn’t sold out to them.
“Signs of problems within the CPC still show up often. Bishop Hell’s Cathedral of Calamity barely seems to be a part of the group. The Cathedral goes its own way and fights everyone, CPC or not. Father Steel has refused to have special referee Scourge work his title matches, which you have to respect a little. At least he is willing to defend his title on his own, although the Bishop has been known to get involved in Steel’s matches. In addition, Class Act and Stormfront both want to challenge Kobe Power, and CPC Bounty will no doubt throw their name into the mix when they return to action. Likewise, you can bet that Pathfinder will want to go after Steel again as soon as he returns from his suspension. The Enforcement Division is even fighting among its own members over the hardcore title. The situation is chaotic, and Colby seems unhappy whenever his men are scheduled to fight each other. Some sort of explosion is coming, but no one knows what the fallout will be.”
GWWF Report
TROUBLE BREWING FOR WOMEN’S CPC TEAM The CPC entry in the GWWF appears to be on the verge of a breakup after several recent verbal confrontations between Anaxis and Velar. Velar began the public dissension in the CPC women’s forces, criticizing the Enchantresses for not coming to her aid in a number of her losses. Anaxis was quick to respond. “Why should we help her?’ Anaxis asked. “Because Mr. Colby and Ms. Pelf pay us, that makes us a team? I never did like Velar. Last year we had a group, with Voodoo Queen, Celestia, and Angel. Now Cassandra is my only partner. I don’t care what happens to Velar.” Cassandra made no public comment on the situation, but she is said to have been very frustrated since the Enchantresses lost their tag titles. Velar continues to steam over Anaxis’ attitude. Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf may have to take a long look at their GWWF representatives soon.

GWF 2108 Highlights
From WPU 11.4
CORDANUS GAINS FIRST VICTORY STRAP MATCHES BANNED UNDER PRESSURE FROM UFSP President Cordanus of the United Federation of Stars and Planets notched his first success in his campaign to decrease the violence in wrestling when GWF Commissioners Omega and Morpheus announced that the federation had voluntarily banned all leather strap matches until further notice.
The decision was released on June 29, two days after a bloody strap match between Wraith and GWF Special Matches Champion Wolf at the Warrior Village Coliseum of Aethra. Both men were helped from the ring after Wolf finally scored the win. The champion was expected to be out until after the mid-year break in early July, while most predictions put Wraith on the shelf until mid-August.
“This type of match is exactly the problem that we in the UFSP have with wrestling, and it’s going to stop one way or another,” Cordanus stated after the card. “I understand that Wraith has multiple lacerations to most of his body, that he lost well over a pint of blood, and that he sustained internal injuries that could have had a permanent effect on his health. We’ve seen this same thing before, when Terminus put Defender of the Realm out a short time ago or when Wraith was beaten unconscious by his own teammate, Blizzard. This match is simply too dangerous. If the GWF and all other federations do not take action, we will.”
After considering the situation for one day, the GWF commissioners’ office issued the following statement:
“Strap matches have been a part of wrestling since the twentieth century. They are a part of our history. However, because we wish to respect the wishes of the UFSP, we are hereby suspending all leather strap matches until further notice. We will conduct a study of the situation to determine whether we can find a way to minimize the serious damage that has occurred in some of these recent matches.” Three days later, USWF Commissioner Grogan made the following announcement: “The USWF has been contacted by UFSP President Cordanus, who has asked that we follow the lead of the GWF in suspending all leather strap matches. Under the advisement of our board of governors, I am accepting the recommendation of President Cordanus. The USWF will sanction no leather strap matches until further notice.” Privately, GWF Commissioner Omega acknowledged that the decision to ban the strap matches had come under heavy pressure from President Cordanus. “He’s really got it in for us,” Omega stated. “He forced us to give in on this, or he was threatening to shut us down completely. I’m afraid that this is going to be a very ugly political fight with Cordanus before we’re all through.”
CODE ENFORCER II WINS FIRST GWF BELT The Code Enforcer II, the smaller of the two newcomers brought in by Commander Sam this year, became the first of the masked duo to claim a championship belt when he defeated Prodigy for the cruiserweight title at the Juno Civic Auditorium on May 26. The championship match did not last long and was totally dominated by the Code Enforcer. Prodigy attempted to battle through, but the newcomer was ready at every turn and quickly had the cruiserweight champion frustrated. Penthouse Suite manager Thantos never had a chance to get involved, as the Enforcer pinned Prodigy with a “Heads Will Roll” just before the four minute mark. Both of the Code Enforcers continue to refuse to speak, possibly for fear of revealing their identities. However, their manager, Commander Sam, was at no loss for words. “We brought the Code Enforcers in for one purpose: to put down the CPC,” Sam stated. “Looks like we’re doing it. Prodigy was the only champion they had in the GWF, and now he’s lost his belt. He can dream all he wants to about getting it back, but it won’t happen. The Code Enforcers are for real, and Thantos and his men just going to have to get used to disappointment.”
BIG CODE ENFORCER MAKES HIS CHALLENGE In an expected challenge, the Code Enforcer I offered to put up his mask against Mandrill’s Galaxian heavyweight championship at the upcoming Deep Space Showcase. The challenge came after the Code Enforcer had defeated the champion in a non-title match at the Gemma Golden Crown Arena on June 4. Mandrill had avoided matches with the big newcomer for some weeks, and the odds of the Colonizer leader agreeing to an immediate title shot seemed long. Then the Code Enforcer grabbed the ring microphone and spoke publicly for the first time since coming to the GWF. “It’s time I got my shot,” the big man said in a voice that seemed vaguely familiar to many observers but was clearly disguised. “I want the main event at the Showcase. I’ve beaten everyone I need to beat, including the champion, and I just knocked him out.
“Mandrill, I know you don’t want to fight me,” the Code Enforcer continued. “You know I can beat you, and I know you don’t do anything unless you have something to gain, so I’ll have to offer you something. I just embarrassed you. I showed you up in front of the whole GWF. You want revenge? If I don’t beat you at the Showcase, I’ll take off this mask and show everyone exactly who I am. You can be the man who unmasked the Code Enforcer. What do you say?” Mandrill did not offer an immediate response. Before the night was over, however, he had accepted the challenge. “Why not?” the Prime Colonizer asked. “I beat him earlier this year. I can do it again. This will just add to the legend I’m forming around myself. I am the greatest GWF champion ever, and no loser in a mask is going to take my belt.”
The GWF Commissioners’ office quickly agreed to the match and scheduled it for the main event at the upcoming supercard.
DEEP SPACE SHOWCASE 2108 The GWF’s Deep Space Showcase originated in 2096 as the federation’s only traveling supercard, moving to a different location each year as a means of bringing a major event to some of the galaxy’s smaller venues. The 2108 Showcase took place at the Pollux Starfire Arena on June 20. The Code Enforcer I’s challenge to Mandrill for the Galaxian heavyweight championship was scheduled as the main event for the supercard. In other title matches, Twin Blood was set to defend to GWF tag team belts against Millennium, Wrath accepted a challenge from Rising Sun for the interplanetary belt, and Amazonia was slated to meet Thrash for the GWWF title. Cruiserweight Champion Code Enforcer II missed the card due to an injury inflicted on him by Blazing Skull.
Deep Space Showcase 2108: The Card Brainstorm topped Soldier of Fortune with a neckbreaker Blizzard beat Lycosa by countout Greg Valentine and Mike Fortune downed the Hunters of Prey The Lower World bashed the Awesome Studs when Death’s Head pinned Vanity The Ninja Assassins put away TitanAttack when Ursa Major went down to the “Double Edged Sword” Buck Steele transformed into Genocide and slammed Splatter in a Barbed Wire Cage Match Wolf, Predator, and Black Hawk dominated Mayhem, the Mad Jester, and Ruin in an elimination match Kati beat Janus with the “Samoan Revenge” in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Lance At-Las pounded Monad in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match Cygnus Strikeforce upset Disorder X with Massif as the referee Malice blasted Holocaust with the “Wasteland” in a Castor Chain Match The Gladiators won the War Games tag team titles by defeating Alpha Power Wrath outdueled Rising Sun to retain the interplanetary belt Spike topped Vyper in a cage match Dark Justice pinned the Draconian Sheik to win the War Games singles title Vengeance used a “Helter Skelter” in the ring to defeat Pegasus in a Flamsteed Street Fight Paragon, Terminus, and Prodigy downed Matador of M83, Skinhead, and Enigma in a Battlezone match Twin Blood held on to the GWF tag team titles against Millennium when Dreggs pinned Colossus The Code Enforcer I won by countout against Galaxian Heavyweight Champion Mandrill
Deep Space Showcase Wrap-Up The Code Enforcer I made good on his promise to defeat Mandrill, but he did not take away the Galaxian heavyweight title. The Enforcer appeared to have the match won with a “Heads Will Roll” when Sentry knocked out the referee with a stun blast. Mandrill had around a minute to recover before Bounty Hunter arrived to take over as the official. The match then continued for several minutes, with the Code Enforcer still dominating most of the action, until the champion was knocked out of the ring and failed to make it back in before Bounty Hunter’s count reached ten. Some observers believed that Mandrill could have beaten the count but chose to take the loss rather than continue the fight.
One of the top matches on the card was Wrath’s interplanetary title defense against Rising Sun. Wrath has always had more difficulty with smaller, quicker wrestlers, and Rising Sun gave him all he could handle for more than twelve minutes before Wrath finally won with his “Reprisal.”
Paragon may have had the top individual performance of the day in what was possibly his best outing since joining the GWF. Often labeled as overrated due to his failure to win a major belt, the big man of the CPC was tremendous in defeating Enigma, the Matador, and Skinhead by himself in the Battlezone match.
WAR GAMES OFF TO BLAZING START The GWF’s 2108 War Games are off to one of the fastest starts in federation history. The current leaders, the Rocket Men, have already notched a total of 74 points at the mid-year break, while five other teams have reached 60 points. In comparison, at the same point in 2107 the Citadel of the Elite/Rocket Men team and the CPC’s Executive Order were tied for first place with 59 points, while in 2106 Executive Order led with 58 points and in 2105 the Defenders of the Galaxy and the Gladiators led with just 53.
War Games Notes: Rising Sun won the tournament to become the first War Games singles champion of 2108, while Black Hawk and Crazy Horse won the tag team tournament . . . Current War Games singles champion is Anarchy, while Thunder and Overkill hold the tag belts . . . Executive Order is off to the worst showing of any defending War Games Champions ever . . . The Gladiators started terribly, but they have made a comeback in recent weeks to pull up to seventh place . . . Penthouse Suite has also roared up near the top after a slow start . . . The Terrorists have, as expected, had a problem with suspensions and injuries, as the Draconian Sheik, Splatter, Anarchy, and Blazing Skull have all missed numerous cards . . . Genesis was doing surprisingly well until Max Shield was injured by Malice. Max will return to action in early July after the mid-year break.
USWF REPORT
ANDROMEDA EXPLOSION 2108 The USWF presented its fifth annual Andromeda Explosion supercard on May 20, 2108 at the Andromeda Nebula Pavilion. The Explosion originated in 2104 to replace the USWF’s original supercard, the Europa Eruption. As always, this year’s event was attended by a sellout crowd of 47, 915.
ANDROMEDA EXPLOSION 2108: THE CARD Witherspoon nailed Scorpio with a slingshot suplex Powerhouse made his return as Hammer’s partner as the Stormtroopers downed Stormfront Venom defeated Gorthanor in a Four Weapons of Destruction Match Casshan drilled Toltecas with a “Cataclysm” Alien Assault beat Armageddon when Caldron Torsir used the “Thralix Twister” on Carnage Charon overcame Halcón Oro to hold on to the cruiserweight belt Stargazer topped Lycanthrope in a Shandor Street Fight by using the “Blind Fury” on the floor Class Act got by the Flatliners with the help of a fast count by Scourge as Shawn Styles pinned Slash Maccavity tripped up Holocaust with the “Grand Theft” in a Lepus Stun Rod Match Unknown Soldier pounded Mantric in a Turnbuckle Shock Match Marikel outdueled Homicide in a Zero Gravity Platform Match The Star Patrol topped CPC Bounty when Space Ranger pinned Vascor Dagger Mack caught Bishop Hell with a “Backstab” after a low blow to win a Titan Hardcore Match Pathfinder blasted Jason the Canadian Bomber with a “Ceres Crunch” in a Castor Chain Match Rebellion won by disqualification over USWF tag team champions Kobe Power when Crow interfered Father Steel caught High Lord Marlicus with the “Last Rites” to retain the USWF Heavyweight title
Andromeda Explosion Wrap-Up Once again the CPC emerged from the card with its championships in tact. Father Steel and Kobe Power continued their dominance over the biggest prizes. However, Charon also continued to hang on to the one USWF title that the CPC does not hold as he downed Halcón Oro, the most recent of Colby’s men to challenge unsuccessfully for the cruiserweight strap. The tag team championship match was a travesty, as Rebellion had battled back from near defeat and appeared to have Kanemura beaten when Crow interfered. The Kobe Extreme team made no attempt to avoid the disqualification. After the card, Rebellion and their manager the Incredible Badger immediately began screaming for a rematch. The remainder of the card passed without major incident. Styles was injured by the Flatliners after Class Act’s win, but he is expected to miss less than two weeks. The return of Powerhouse was a surprise but did not exactly send shock waves through the federation. Marikel’s refusal to fight in a Leather Strap Match shows how hard the CPC leader is trying to avoid highly physical matches, but with Marikel’s history this attitude comes as no shock to anyone.
REBELLION FINALLY BREAKS THROUGH In a hostile arena and in spite of a biased referee, Rebellion finally took the USWF tag team titles from Kobe Power at Pelf Palace on May 25. After their hollow win by disqualification at the Andromeda Explosion, Rebellion demanded an immediate rematch for the tag belts and asked for a situation in which there could be no outside interference. Commissioner Grogan gave in to their demands, setting the match to take place in a cage at Pelf Palace but also appointing Scourge as the special referee. Kobe Power began the cage match well, with both Shouji Kanemura and Shiryu pounding on Blitz for several minutes, but the big Aethran never left his feet. At last Blitz caught Kanemura coming off the ropes and leveled him with a Gladiator Piledriver. Scar then tagged in, and the challengers went for their “Aethran Triumph” finisher. Immediately after landing the move, Blitz speared Shiryu into the cage, knocking the gigantic mutant out of the action. Scar covered Kanemura, and although Scourge’s count was even slower than usual, in the end the special referee had no choice but to count the incapacitated victim out and award the belts to Rebellion. Blitz and Scar became tag team champions for the fourth time but for the first time in over two years. Kobe Power’s impressive eleven month reign covered thirty-three successful defenses, the second longest in USWF tag team history. Only the Star Patrol’s nineteen month, sixty-three victory reign was longer. After the card, a huge celebration took place in the locker room area. Nearly all of the USWF’s non-CPC wrestlers, including even Krakan’s Agents of Fortune, took part in congratulating Rebellion. “This is just a huge win for all of us,” the Unknown Soldier explained. “It proves that we can take out their best, even with their unfair referees and preferential treatment. Now no one is safe—not Crow, not Hurricane, not even Father Steel. This win is going to give us all confidence to go after the CPC title holders.”
MANTRIC TOPS STEEL FOR HEAVY METAL BELT The wear and tear of defending two titles at the same time finally overcame the amazing USWF Heavyweight Champion Father Steel as the big man lost the heavy metal title to fellow CPC member Mantric at the Cor Coroli Diamond Dome on June 3. Steel appeared tired and out of sorts in the cage match at the Diamond Dome. Mantric dominated the match almost from the opening bell. On several occasions Steel attempted to mount a comeback, but each time the challenger was ready with a counter. At the seven minute mark Mantric put the champion away with an “Estorian Pride” to claim the title. Mantric becomes the heavy metal champion for the second time, having held the belt briefly in 2107. The win was also especially sweet for the Estorian superstar because Steel was the man who defeated him for the USWF heavyweight belt six months earlier. Father Steel’s third reign as heavy metal champion lasted for seven months and eight defenses, both marks which are surpassed only by Wrath’s two three-year reigns as cage champion.
FATHER STEEL SURRENDERS USWF HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE Mantric stunned the USWF by defeating Father Steel for the federation’s heavyweight championship on June 12 at the Alpha Centauri Colonnade. Father Steel, who had lost the heavy metal title to Mantric just nine days earlier, controlled the action for the early part of the match and, at the six minute mark, seemed to have Mantric beaten with a “Last Rites.” However, Mantric’s manager Parsec interfered to break the hold and knock Steel off balance. The challenger immediately followed with his “Solo Act” finisher to score the unexpected victory and regain the title that he had lost to Steel six months earlier. Father Steel ran off an impressive string of twelve defenses during his title reign. After the card, the big man expressed anger and disillusionment at the decision. “I had Mantric beat,” the former champion growled. “Where was the referee? He should have called for a DQ, but instead Parsec interferes and they steal my title. Well, I’ll get my belt back. But if this is what it means to be a member of the CPC, then I’m thinking I may be better off without them.”
GWWF REPORT
KAILANI WINS USWF WOMEN’S TITLE After numerous disappointments and setbacks, Kailani finally defeated Voodoo Queen to capture the USWF women’s championship at the Triton Pavilion on July 2. Kailani appeared to have the belt won one week earlier at the Callisto Centroplex, but Voodoo Queen managed to save her title with a disqualification loss due to interference by Celestia. An incensed Kailani called for an immediate rematch after the card. CPC women’s team leader Sonora Pelf declined, saying that the champion had already proven her superiority, but USWF Commissioner Grogan surprised everyone by not only granting the rematch but making it a Titan Hardcore Match. The CPC team members were furious, and Magnus Colby even spoke out against the decision, but Grogan stated that the contracts were signed and that the match now had to take place or Voodoo Queen would forfeit her belt. In the title contest, Voodoo Queen held an early advantage, but from that point on it was all Kailani. The challenger took full control on the floor when she picked up and used a stun rod that had been hidden under the ring. She then rolled the champion back in and landed the “Island Isolator” to score the pin and become the second holder of the USWF women’s championship. “This is not over,” Voodoo Queen screamed after the match. “That’s my belt. No one takes it away. Kailani is going to wish she was never born.”
