The main events for Galactic War feature the winners of the Galaxy Cup tournaments receiving their automatic title shots at the Galaxian heavyweight and tag team champions. For this year, Galaxy Cup singles winner Code Enforcer Euritar challenged Galaxian Heavyweight Champion The Matador of M83 while GWF tag team champs Thunder and Overkill were set to defend their belts against tag team tournament winners Millennium.

Galactic War Wrap-Up
Only one GWF championship changed hands at Galactic War, but it was the biggest prize of all as Code Enforcer Euritar became the Galaxian champion for the first time in his career. The young masked man was dominant against the Matador of M83, hammering him from the opening bell and never giving up the advantage before pinning the champion after just five minutes.
Inexplicably, Euritar also had to fight through repeated interference by Reynard B. Guile, Skinhead, and Disorder X, who inserted themselves into the contest in an attempt to help the champion. No alliance between Guile’s team and the Matador is known to exist, and indeed the Matador seemed as surprised at the interference as anyone.
Mandrill was terrific in his first big match since returning from an injury suffered last year. Code Enforcer Manslaughter fought gamely, but he was never able to sustain an offense against the man he defeated for the Galaxian title in 2108.
Rising Sun came out on top in the first ever individual battlezone match. Wrestlers entered the ring in random order, as in a royal rumble, but only two were in the ring at any one time, as the next wrestler was not permitted to enter until the previous match ended, with the victor remaining to fight again. Rising Sun thus earned a shot at cruiserweight champion Skinhead, who dominated Blizzard before being disqualified for knocking down the referee.
Paragon was defeated by Malice, but, unexpectedly, he began playing to the fans during the match, and many of the spectators responded by cheering him. No one could say, however, if the fans were really supporting Paragon or if they simply hated Malice more.
The Gladiators had a tough time with Millennium, as Thunder was beaten down badly throughout the contest. A rematch between the two teams is expected soon.
MAX SHIELD REGAINS INTERPLANETARY TITLE
Max Shield took back the interplanetary championship he had lost to Vengeance two weeks earlier with a dramatic win at the Luna Auditorium of Earth on February 22.
Shield had appeared to regain the belt at Galactic War on February 17, but Brute interfered to save the title for Vengeance. Commissioner Morpheus therefore ordered Billy Jo Boxer to serve as special referee for the rematch. Vengeance started the contest well and had Shield half-blinded with a series of “Eye Cleavers.” When the challenger fought back, Brute again inserted himself into the match, distracting the referee and allowing Vengeance to regain the advantage. However, at the nine minute mark Shield battled back again, and this time when he hit the “Maximum Impact” Vengeance was unable to recover and Boxer counted the pin.
Vengeance defended the title successfully just once, his DQ loss to Shield at Galactic War, in a title reign that lasted for exactly two weeks. Shield became interplanetary champion for the seventh time with the win.
“This ain’t over,” Vengeance snapped after the card. “That punk got a little lucky, and of course Boxer was there to protect him. But the Gladiators are going to dominate this year, and there’s nothing Morpheus can do to stop us.”
NEWS OF MESMER’S DEATH REACHES GWF
On February 27, Commissioner Morpheus’ office announced that it had received a coded message from Dimension X informing the GWF of the death of long-time star Mesmer.
“Obviously, the federation is saddened by this news,” the commissioner stated in a written press release. “Although Mesmer did a great deal of damage in the GWF, he was also a major contributor to our sport for a long period of time. We are all sorry to hear of his passing.”
The “damage” to which Morpheus referred was, of course, Mesmer’s involvement in the Colby/Pelf Corporation and the corruption of former GWF Commissioner Grogan, for which Mesmer was banned from the GWF in 2106. No one in the press corps could forget, however, that Mesmer was also the key witness that sent Morpheus to prison for blackmailing former GWF Commissioner Zachary Carter in 2102.
According to the coded message, Mesmer had been living in Dimension X since 2107. Details of the manner in which he died were not included.
“In 2106, Mesmer was banned indefinitely from any participation in the GWF,” Morpheus’ statement continued. “When Omega and I became commissioners, we left that ban in effect. However, with Mesmer’s death, and in tribute to the man Mesmer was when he came to the GWF in 2089, I have officially declared the sanctions against Mesmer to be ended. They serve no purpose now. Mesmer is therefore posthumously reinstated to the GWF in recognition of his contributions to wrestling over the years, and the unfortunate infractions that occurred at the end of his career are officially pardoned.”
RISING SUN ENDS SKINHEAD’S CRUISERWEIGHT REIGN
The record-setting cruiserweight title reign of Skinhead came to an end at the Cassini Auditorium of Mars when Rising Sun pinned the four-time champion to claim the belt.
Rising Sun had earned the title shot with his victory in the cruiserweight super battlezone match at Galactic War. He had then challenged Skinhead for the championship at the Oberon Civic Center on February 22, but Skinhead held on to the belt by disqualification. Commissioner Morpheus therefore ordered the rematch at the Cassini Auditorium and appointed Massif as the special referee.
The title contest was a tough, back-and-forth match with Skinhead holding an early advantage. Massif restrained both men from some of their high-risk moves, preventing Rising Sun from connecting on several deathjumps. Finally, when Rising Sun hit a “Titan Drop” that appeared to win the match, Skinhead’s manager Reynard B. Guile jumped up on the ring apron while Grunge and Mace sprinted toward the ring from the dressing room. However, while Massif flattened Guile with a forearm, Dreggs and Sleeze intercepted Disorder X and prevented them from reaching the ring. Rising Sun then hit a “Sunset Spectacular” that sealed the victory.
Skinhead’s impressive title reign set a cruiserweight record with twenty successful defenses over a six month period. Rising Sun became cruiserweight champion for the third time, having taken the belt from Skinhead on all three occasions.
MILLENNIUM TOPS GLADIATORS FOR TAG TEAM GOLD
After a series of tremendous matches, Millennium emerged as the GWF tag team champions by defeating Thunder and Overkill at the Vesta Sports Complex on March 2.
The two teams had engaged in a terrific match at Galactic War on February 17 when the Gladiators pulled out a narrow victory and again at the Luna Auditorium on February 22 when Millennium won in a non-title contest. Commissioner Morpheus therefore granted Colossus and Heracles another title shot, in part as a special treat for the fans at the small Vesta Complex.
In the championship match, the advantage swung back and forth for four minutes, with Heracles taking some brutal punishment from the Gladiators, before Millennium took control of the match outside the ring. Heracles then dropped Overkill with an “Olympia” so quickly that Brute, the Aethran manager who has interfered in matches with increasing frequency recently, had no time to react. The referee counted the pin, and Millennium finally had the belts.
The title reign of the Gladiators lasted for just five defenses over three months. Heracles and Colossus claimed the tag team belts for the second time, the first having come ten years earlier in 2099.
“This was a mistake,” Gladiator leader Vengeance stated. “This should never have happened. First my interplanetary belt, and now the tag titles. Do you think that Aethra will stand for this? Everyone had better be ready, because a lot of people are going to be sorry until we have the titles again.”
GOSSIPS RUNNING WILD ON PEGASUS AND SUPERNOVA
The gossip sheets surrounding the GWF have been filled with rumors regarding the breakup of Pegasus and Supernova since the daughter of Omega has stopped coming to ringside with her long-time boyfriend.
Pegasus and Supernova have been a couple for several years. Originally their relationship caused tension between Pegasus and Alpha Force, which contributed in part to Alpha taking the year off in 2107. Now, however, Pegasus and Supernova seem to be ready to part company.
When asked about the situation, Pegasus was blunt and evasive. “My relationship with Supernova was never anyone else’s business, and it’s not anyone else’s business now,” he snapped. “Whether we’re together or not, you have no right to even ask. If we have any problems, we’ll decide for ourselves how to deal with them. We don’t need anyone’s help.”
Supernova was slightly more open about the situation. “Yes, things have been changing,” she said. “Pegasus and I have been together for a long time, and we’ve gone through a lot together. But he is different lately, and I don’t really understand what’s going on myself. I have some guesses as to what the problem is, but I think that’s a private matter. We’re just taking some time for things to cool down right now. I’m going to concentrate on my own wrestling career, and I hope that soon everything will be back to normal.”
Whatever the circumstances of the relationship may be, Star Warrior has taken Supernova’s place in accompanying Pegasus to ringside since late February. In addition, unconfirmed reports claim that Pegasus has been seen in the company of Maxine several times in recent weeks.
USWF REPORT
STAR CHALLENGE 2109
The tenth annual USWF Star Challenge took place at Fire Island on March 3, 2109. The Challenge traditionally features two tournaments, one for single wrestlers and another for tag teams. Wrestlers are included in the tournaments by invitation from the USWF commissioner’s office, and all matches in both tournaments are fought under no disqualification rules. In addition, this year Commissioner Grogan reinstated a tradition that was discontinued in 2108, a Battle Royal for wrestlers not invited to participate in the tournaments, with the winner receiving a shot at the interstellar title. Finally, the commissioner instituted a new match, a second battle royal for the USWF’s women’s division, with the winner being guaranteed an opportunity to wrestle for the USWF women’s title.
Traditionally, tournament winners are awarded automatic title shots at the USWF heavyweight and tag team championships. However, with the USWF tag team belts having been vacant since December of 2108, Commissioner Grogan declared that the Star Challenge tag tournament winners would be recognized as the new tag team champions.
The singles tournament came down to a final match between 2108 Star Challenge winner Daniel Streamline, who was attempting to become the first ever back-to-back winner of the challenge, and Dagger Mack, perhaps the most high-profile USWF star never to have held a major championship belt. In a tremendous match, Dagger Mack finally landed a “Reverse Dagger Edge” and pinned the exhausted Streamline to win the match and tournament.
In the tag team side of the event, the championship match included the Stormtroopers, who made an incredible run through Mantric and Maccavity, the Soaring Eagles, and long-time rivals Theater of Pain to reach the championship, against the Penthouse Punks, who upset Blitz and Scar in the semi-finals despite an injury to Romulus. The final contest was the best fight of the entire Star Challenge card, lasting for seventeen incredible minutes as both teams refused to be beaten until Hammer finally forced Taurine to submit to the “Hammer’s Lock” and made the two former GWF stars the new USWF tag team champions. Hammer thus became a USWF tag team titleholder for the third time, having twice won the belts with Dynamo in 2100 and 2101. Powerhouse and Hammer have both held the GWF tag team titles in the past as well.

Singles Tournament Finals
Dagger Mack earned the biggest victory of his career by defeating Daniel Streamline with a “Reverse Dagger Edge” to win the Star Challenge singles tournament.
Star Challenge Notes
Throughout his GWF career, Holocaust gained a reputation as the best competitor in the federation in multi-wrestler matches due to his incredible record of success in Battlezone contests. In the Star Challenge Battle Royal he again lived up to this reputation, claiming the automatic shot at the interstellar title despite the fact that he has won only one singles match so far in 2109.
In the Women’s Battle Royal, Amazonia’s half-sister Dream Lover finally earned her shot at the championship, surviving a match in which Shadow and Lady Pain teamed up to dominate much of the action.
Both tournaments featured plenty of great action. One of the top matches was the opening contest of the event, the tag team battle between the Avengers and the Troubleshooters. Lycanthrope’s duel with Black Hawk was among the best singles matches, as were Streamline’s first round match against Guthlac and Dagger Mack’s semi-final win over Lycanthrope.
HOMICIDE TOPS STEEL FOR HEAVY METAL BELT
USWF all-time victory leader Homicide became the federation’s heavy metal champion for the first time since 2100 by defeating Father Steel on March 11 at the Canopus Civic Coliseum.
Surprisingly, Homicide dominated the huge cage champion in the title contest. Steel never managed to mount an offense before Homicide nailed him with a “Lunatic Lash” to score the pin.
Homicide becomes the heavy metal champion for the second time. His first title reign ended when he lost to Wrath in December of 2100, the match that began Wrath’s first three-year reign as champion.
PATHFINDER SURVIVES NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS
With Dagger Mack demanding the title shot he earned at the Star Challenge and the Penthouse Punks having won a non-title rematch of the tag team tournament final against the Stormtroopers, Commissioner Grogan declared the March 23 card at the Prantares United Center to be the USWF’s “Night of Champions.”
“We’re going to settle a few things on Prantares,” Grogan stated. “Pathfinder will finally defend against Dagger Mack, who was the number one contender even before the Star Challenge. The Stormtroopers can defend against the Punks. Holocaust can have the shot he earned against Maccavity. And we’ll set up as many other major feud matches, special matches, and great contests as we can. This will be a major event, and any title match that ends in a disqualification will then be settled in a special rules match at our new supercard on Maxus in a two more weeks.”
With the atmosphere filling with anticipation of a terrific card, however, UFSP President Cordanus struck again, managing to have the entire Untamed Warriors team banned from the card. Cordanus thus deprived Guthlac of a shot at Stargazer’s hardcore title as well as preventing major showdowns matching Rebellion against Kobe Power and Lycanthrope against Crow.
Nevertheless, the evening lived up to all expectations. Although only one title changed hands when Dream Lover defeated Kailani for the women’s belt, the night was filled with great battles. In the main event, Pathfinder endured another terrific challenge by Dagger Mack to hang on to his USWF heavyweight championship, only to be challenged by Terminus after the bell.
“It’s time we answered some questions, Pathfinder,” the multiple-time former GWF interplanetary champion declared, emerging from the locker room after the final match and grabbing a microphone. “Before, we were both members of the CPC, so we were supposed to be on the same side. But now we’re here, and the face-off between Penthouse Suite and Primary Colors is inevitable. We might as well get it on now. I deserve that belt, and I’m gonna take it from you on Maxus in ten days. Enjoy it while you still have it.”
The Stormtroopers also retained their titles, but only due to a disqualification loss. The Penthouse Punks once again looked very sharp and will receive another title shot in a special rules match on Maxus.
Holocaust, despite having won only one match all year, proved that he deserved an opportunity to wrestle for the interstellar belt. Although Maccavity finally won the eighteen minute match, Holocaust gave the champion everything he could stand and narrowly missed claiming the title.
In other major matches, Kobe Power appears to be back on track after handing the Soaring Eagles only their second loss of the year, Silverfang defeated Heavy Metal Champion Homicide in a non-title cage match, and Father Steel and Daniel Streamline battled to a double disqualification. In addition, Terminus defeated the Dominator in the first one-on-one match between the two Aran stars.

DEVIL WOMAN ENDS AMAZONIA’S TITLE REIGN
The sixteen month reign of Amazonia as GWWF champion came to an end at the GWF’s Galactic War supercard on February 17 when Devil Woman pinned the all-time winningest wrestler in federation history to take the title.
Amazonia had barely survived a grueling match against Devil Woman at the Galacticade supercard in December of 2108, and this time the huge Aethran was even more aggressive. Amazonia was never really in the match as Devil Woman roared out with a series of vicious blows before slamming the champion with an “Unholy Rite” and pinning her after just four minutes.
After the match, a dejected Amazonia made no excuses. “She just beat me,” the four-time former champion said. “I didn’t have my head in it tonight. I’m really tired right now. I held the title for a long time, and it had to end sooner or later. I only wish I had put in a better effort tonight.”
Devil Woman became the GWWF champion for the fourth time, a record equaled only by Amazonia.
DREAM LOVER TAKES USWF BELT FROM KAILANI
Dream Lover became a singles champion for the fist time in her career on March 23 at the USWF’s “Night of Champions” at the Prantares United Center when she defeated Kailani for the USWF women’s title.
The challenger was not officially ranked for a shot at Kailani’s title, but she earned her opportunity by winning the women’s Battle Royal at the Star Challenge on March 3. Dream Lover then took full advantage of the circumstances, attacking Kailani early and never really letting the champion get on track. She finally put Kailani away with her “Sweet Dreams” sleeper hold finisher at the six minute mark.
After the match, the new champion was ecstatic with her victory. “I’ve waited for this for ten long years,” she said. “I’ve fought everyone, and I’ve done everything, but I’ve never had a belt on my own. Now I have one, and it feels pretty sweet. I’m just gonna enjoy this for a while.”
Former GWF champion Amazonia, Dream Lover’s estranged half-sister, seemed to lack interest in the situation. “Why does everyone always ask me about Dream Lover?” Amazonia asked when approached about her sister’s win. “We have nothing to do with each other. We never have, and we never will. An accident of birth gave us the same father, but that’s all. I don’t care how many titles she wins as long as she stays in the USWF and I never see her again.”

GWWF REPORT
