I agree with Moonstrike they should have just took the win. No way Morpheus would have done the same.

FINALLY, the Cakejedi has returned to the boards! One of the fun things in writing Early Classics is showing the contrast between Morpheus and Omega. How long can these two opposite personalities co-exist?  ? |

GWF Card #3
December 2074
Deimos Arena
Attendance 4,067 (Capacity 27,000)
-Morpheus is in his office talking to a young woman. She is in her early twenties with long red hair.
“As you know, the GWF will begin running promotional spots to help increase our exposure. We are looking for a spokeswoman to be the ‘face’ of the GWF. We have narrowed our search down to a handful of candidates. And I am pleased to let you know that you are among the finalists. To determine the best actress as our spokeswoman, we have developed one final test. This one will really challenge your acting skills. My secretary will escort you to a dressing room. You will make yourself look like a young woman who is the mother of a twenty year old son. Once you have completed your ‘look’, I need you make a holo-recording of yourself reading this script.”
Morpheus hands the actress a data pad containing the script.
“Thank you, sir. You will not be disappointed in my performance.”
“I am sure I will be most impressed.”
The actress leaves Morpheus’ office.
Omega enters.
“Morpheus, old friend, the protesters are back. And there are media personnel from all across the galaxy here tonight. We really need to put on a show that represents the core values of the GWF. How are we going to make sure that Dorado Sundown and Commander Sam conduct themselves in an honorable fashion?”
“Don’t worry about the wrestlers. I will make sure that they comply with your little ‘Code of Honor’. And I can assure you, my ‘friend’, that tonight will be a night that everyone in attendance will remember.”
“I have always had faith in you, my friend.”
Omega leaves and a young man enters the office.
“It is all taken care of, sir. My friends are scattered throughout the crowd.”
“And they know what to chant and when?”
“Yes, as you instructed.”
“Good! Good!”
Morpheus hands the young man a credit card.”
“Make sure you and your friends have a good time tonight.!”
“Thank you, sir!”
“Don’t mention it. And I mean that. Not a word to ANYONE!”
The young man leaves the office.
-GWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Guardians: Omega (1) & Morpheus (1) (CHAMPIONS) vs. Paladin Power: Moonstrike (3) & Solar Flare (3)
The match was fast paced and very exciting. Solar Flare made many quick tags and controlled the tempo of the match. Solar Flare & Morpheus ended up fighting outside of the ring. The referee came out to break up the fight and get the wresters back into the ring. As he was trying to separate the wrestlers, the referee was accidentally struck by Solar Flare. Solar Flare was disqualified.
Omega grabs a microphone.
“The Guardians are honorable Champions. We will not accept a disqualification. Please restart the match.”
Morpheus looks at Omega and yells
“What are you doing?”
“Showing these fans how an honorable Champion defends his title.”
The match resumes with the same intensity as it had before the disqualification.
The fans began to chant
“This is AWESOME!”
Moonstrike kicked out of two Trip to Hades. The fans cheered each kick out.
“This is AWESOME!”
Omega tagged in and hit the Tomahawk Thrust on Moonstrike for the pin.
The Guardians and Paladin Power shake hands as the fans cheer.
Omega whispers to Morpheus
“This is what the GWF is all about!”
-Torin Caelum vs. K.O. Keller
Torin Caelum won the match in an amazing 43 seconds when he made Keller submit to Caelum’s Grip.
-Bullwhip (3) vs. Ricken Prince
Bullwhip kicked out of two ‘Bow to the Prince’ pin attempts. Ricken Prince then tried for a deathjump, but Bullwhip raised his knees and nailed Prince in the midsection. Bullwhip then decided to try a deathjump. It took Bullwhip several long seconds to climb the turnbuckle. When he finally got to the top turnbuckle, Bullwhip lost his balance and began swaying back and forth. Bullwhip started to flail his arms to regain his balance. But this was unsuccessful and Bullwhip came crashing down to the mat. The fans laughed as Ricken Prince hit the Royal Decree to get the pin.
-Morpheus finds Commander Sam in his locker room.
“Commander, I am sorry to interrupt your pre-match preparations, but I received this fan mail that I think you really need to see.”
“Thank you, sir!”
Morpheus leaves.
Commander Sam turns on the holo-message.
An image of a woman appears on the screen. She is wearing glasses and has red hair tied up in a bun. Her eyes are watery.
“Commander Sam, my name is Sydney Snee. My son…”
Sydney begins to cry.
“My son was a fighter pilot during the Galactic Wars. He was…his ship was destroyed by Cygnus military fighters. He was only twenty years old. He…he wanted to be a history teacher…he wanted to…”
Sydney cries uncontrollably. After regaining her composure, she continues
“Commander Sam, please, for my son, make that son of a #%&$ Torpor and any other disgusting Cygnus slime pay for all the young lives they destroyed. PLEASE. Do it for my son!”
Commander Sam turns off the holo-recorder and wipes tears from his eyes.
-Defiance: Blood & Jammer (1) vs. Crosscurrents: Thetis (2) & Vortex (2)
Another great match that had the fans chanting “This is AWESOME!”
Every time Defiance seemed like that they were about to take control of the match, Crosscurrents used quick tags to thwart any sustained offense by Blood & Jammer.
The match came to an end when Jammer gave Vortex a piledriver and made a pin attempt. Thetis entered the ring and broke up the pin. Blood then ran in and blindsided Thetis with a clothesline to the back of the head. All four wrestlers fought in the middle of the ring, resulting in a double disqualification.
-Commander Sam (1) vs. Torpor (6b)
Commander Sam came to the ring with a determined look on his face. When he got to the ring, Sam grabbed a microphone.
“I dedicate this match as well as my entire professional wrestling career to the brave men and women who were killed during the Galactic Wars by villainous creatures like this…”
Commander Sam points to Torpor as the fans boo the Cygnan warrior.
Commander Sam was relentless in his attack on Torpor. He hit three Star Spangled Banners in a row. The fans cheered each devastating blow. Sam then threw Torpor outside of the ring and smashed his head into the steel post, busting the Cygnan’s head open. The fans cheer the sight of Cygnan blood. They begin to chant
“SAM! SAM! SAM!”
Sam threw Torpor back into the ring and hit two more Star Spangled Banners. Finally, Sam applied the Cobra Clutch to win the match.
After the match, Commander Sam picked Torpor up by the head and shook his hand to fulfill Omega’s Galactic Code of Conduct. He then abruptly pushed Torpor back to the mat. The fans stood and cheered Commander Sam as he walked back to the locker room.
-Screw DQ vs. Santon
Just minutes after the match began, Screw threw Santon outside of the ring. Screw then lifted Santon up and gave him a running power bomb onto the time keeper’s table, getting disqualified. Santon recovered and fought back. The two wrestlers fought all the way up the aisleway leading to the backstage area where Omega was standing with his arms folded.
“The match is over. Stop this NOW! It is time for the post match handshake.”
Screw and Santon stare at each other. After five tense minutes, Omega speaks again
“Shake or you two are out of the GWF.”
The fans begin to boo.
Screw and Santon finally brush their hands together. Omega accepts this as a handshake and let them pass.
-Morpheus is backstage watching on a monitor.
“That fool Omega and his boy scout codes are going to be the ruin this organization before we even get started.”
-Morpheus (2) vs. Blacklash (3) w. Bullwhip
The fans laugh at Bullwhip as he makes his way to the ring with Blacklash.
Blacklash kicked out of 2 consecutive Trip to Hades. But he could not survive a third and was pinned.
-As the members of Dorado Sundown were walking back to their locker room, they find Torpor curled up in a ball and crying.
Bullwhip kicks the Cygnan.
“Look at the little crybaby.”
Blacklash slaps his partner across the face.
“Shut up, you fool.”
Blacklash kneels down by Torpor.
“What’s wrong, my friend.”
“They…they don’t understand…”
Blacklash puts his hand on Torpor’s shoulder.
“ I know…I know. This GWF is a sham. All Omega and Morpheus care about is lining their pockets. Dorado Sundown is not going to stand for it. If you help us, we will make sure you are rewarded when we are calling the shots.”
Torpor looks at Blacklash and smiles.
-GWF CHAMPIONSHIP
Omega (CHAMPION) vs. Cordsar (1)
Omega dominated the match. He hit a Cosmic War Dance on Cordsar, but the challenger kicked out. The Champion then hit a deathjump followed by a Tomahawk Thrust to win the match.
The fans began to boo and chant “BORING! BORING!”
Morpheus comes to the ring.
He takes a microphone.
Omega asks
“What are you doing?”
“Sending them home happy.”
Morpheus addresses the fans.
“Ladies and gentleman, I am proud to announce the main event for next months GWF card. Based on his impressive performance earlier tonight, I am proud to announce that Commander Sam will wrestle Omega for the GWF Championship.”
The fans cheer!
Omega looks confused.
“What are you doing? We agreed…”
“Listen to them. They can’t wait to see their war hero wrestle for the Championship. This is going to be money in the bank! MONEY IN THE BANK!”

Torpor crying? Wonder what thats about?
Very devious of Morpheus using plants to discredit Omega's 'Galactic Code'.
Some great match-ups on this card and the Torpor/Commander Sam was brutal.

Glad you liked Morpheus' tactics. Right now I see him like Darth Sideous in the Phantom Menace. He is the major villian, but manipulates things "offscreen" to get the results he wants. Torpor just did not interest me as a character,so I am gicing him some background to make him more interesting. Keep an eye on him |
