From the Pleiades Cluster Center....

The crowd piled into the Pleiades Cluster Center to witness the inaugural POW card. The crowd erupted when Commissioner Jack Hood came down to the ring...

Jack Hood: Welcome one and all to the rebirth of POW! I was called upon to be the law and the order of this organization and those here that know me from days of old, know Im all about law and order <flashes a wicked razor toothed grin>, You are all about to be witness to a new age, an age of true fighting spirit. If you came to see cartoon wrestling with overrated giants and tired buffoons, then make yer exits now...This is not some freak of the week organization which the GWF pollutes us with. Aye, there will be wrestling, but there will also be MMA fighting as well, Only the strong shall tell the tales here....have a strong stomach and enjoy.....

With that Hood stepped out of the ring and the event was underway. Tonight would feature the opening round of tournaments for each MMA Division. The womens division was up first....

MMA Womens Championship Tourny

Xenia makes Nano submit to a keylock
- Good battle between these two, Nano gave Xenia a difficult time but in the end the strong Russian locked on a keylock and Nano kept saying "We Want To Play!, We Want to Play!" to which the referee called for the bell

Rhiannon KO'd Morgana with a left jab, right elbow cross in a very vicious and brutal battle
- Holy Cow, these two Amazons literally beat the bejeezus out of each other for several long moments, neither could keep an upperhand very long, the crowd really get into it with each comeback but in the end Rhiannon managed to pull off a vicious combo and put Morgana down

MMA Cruiserwight Championship Tourny

Scion Nexus quickly KO'd Pendekar with a roundhouse kick
- A suprisingly quick fight here as Pendekar made a mistake and was got square in the jaw and ended up face first in the mat

Euritar made Thayne tap out to a knee bar
- [censored] good fight here as these two took it to each other, Euritar was the better man this battle and managed to lock on the submission to earn the victory

T.K. makes Dante tap to a keylock
- A surprise here as Dante struggles against The True Way follower, Dante did get him down once but as the match went on TK regained advantage and kept it

Ahnu KO'd Zed Marlowe with a rolling backfist
- Zed now has the honor of having a POW record...quickest Knock Out...Zed unleashed a very quick flurry to which Ahnu responded with a rolling backfist and it was lights out for Zed

MMA Heavyweight Championship Tourny

Indigo defeats Mike Fortune when the ref stopped the bout as Fortune was too injured to continue
- Brutal, Brutal...just plain BRUTAL fight...Fortune was on the recieving end for most of the fight, but have to give credit where credit is due, Fortune is one tough S.O.B. and kept coming and refused to stay down..finally the ref had to stop the fight as Fortune wasnt responding

Excalibur makes Raze submit to a naked strangle
- Good fight, both men did quite well but Excalibur was on his game tonight and managed to make Raze tap

Saboteur KO'd Cypher with a quick jab
- Before the fight began Saboteur grabbed the mic and stated this fight will serve as sending a message to Shylock...with that this fight was on, Saboteur didnt have an easy a fight as he would like and found Cypher to be a tough customer, after several grueling and at times brutal moments Saboteur finally managed to gain the KO

Shylock KO'd Absalom with a single leg takedown
- Shylock came out and was unfazed with Saboteur's earlier comments, even when Saboteur came to the entrance ramp it did nothing to deter Shylock as he quickly put Absalom away...from there both Shylock and Saboteur stared each other down before Sab turned and walked off seemingly frustrated

MMA Super Heavyweight Championship Tourny

Mensar makes JJ Smooth tap out to a keylock
- Maybe JJ Smooth should stick with the wrestling division, Mensar beat the stuffings out of him in this one before making him tap...after the match JJ's Mother came into the ring to tend to her baby boy

Silas made Gordo submit to figure four arm lock
- The G.O.B. drew each other in this round of the tourny, both men shook hands before coming out swinging...the fight went back and forth several times before Silar managed to wear Gordo down enough to obtain the submission

Gunnar made Rubicon tap to a guillotine choke
- Rubicon couldnt get anything going here and Gunnar was just relentless in his attack like a shark smelling blood

Puma makes Hanuman submit to a sit out side choke
- This fight was just sick, both fought savagely and the fight had to be stopped once when Hanuman unintentionally lowblowed Puma...the fight continued and again they tore into each other, but in the end Puma stood strong

Next Card: Round 2 of the tournies... Shylock will meet Saboteur! Batten down the hatches!

MMA Womens Title
Rhiannon beat Xenia via KO with a left jab, right elbow cross
-Vicious bout between these two hard hitting ladies, they literally pummled each other in the longest fight of the night

MMA Cruiserwight Title Tourny
Euritar KO'd Scion Nexus with Merciless when it was determined Scion could not continue
-Euritar showed what a beast he is inside an MMA match and made convicing work out of Nexus

Ahnu beat TK via submission with a body triangle
- Long fight, Ahnu hammered TK with everything he had but TK made a very impressive showing by standing his ground and fighting back just as hard...TK may have lost this bout but he has nothing to be ashamed of at all

MMA Heavyweight Title Tourny
Indigo makes Excalibur tap out to a knee bar
-Quick match, Excalibur makes a mistake of going in and not protecting himself and Indigo caught him in a trap

Saboteur KO'd Shylock with a brutal uppercut
- Quick and disappointing match...I dont know if it was just not Shylock's night or where his head was at but he sure wasnt focused and got knocked out quickly

MMA Super Heavyweight Title Tourny
Silas made Mensar tap out to a keylock
- Upset of the night as Mensar just couldnt seem to keep an offensive going and Silas managed to trap him and get the submission

Puma makes Gunnar tap out to a knee bar
- Fastest match of the night as Gunnar made the mistake of charging into a grapple and getting himself caught much like Excalibur earlier on the card

Too bad about Shylock/Saboteur, but good news for Silas and the boys with the red necks who are good and old!

I will say that Silas isn't horrible, especially down on the mat, but title material? Probably not, and certainly not long-term without some luck.

I have a feeling Puma will take him out in the finals. I will say though Mark you are 3/4 in your predictions!

Puma has been strong in my MMA action. He and Rubicon, just my gut feeling, are going to trade the superheavyweight title back and forth. They are both REALLY good.

Good old Silas -- quite the upset. But I would expect a Puma thrashing

Im fully expecting that to happen Puma has been brutal thus far in the tourny.

Puma won my superheavyweight tourney but has a rematch against the finals loser Rubicon at my next MMA event. I'll be curious to see if he can pull of the win in both our feds.
