Can't say I'm surprised by Puma's win. He's pretty dominant for me, too.
Hope Raze enjoys his trip to Disney Planet. Costs a bundle from what I hear.

POFC 15: The Coming Curse notes
Attendance was full capacity (31, 000 with standing room only sold out as well).... Ahnu is medically suspended for 2 months- no contact for three weeks.... Thad Killian has been medically suspended for six weeks, with no contact for two weeks....Nice win for Morbid. Hawyer Santori was visibly pleased when his number one pick won. He has assembled quite a stable. Word is that Santori is looking at Huerta to the man for his organization as a Cruiser.... Sloth looked, well, sluggish against A'Khas Fel and that is one dude you cannot afford that with. I have always been suspect of SLoth's motivation; he maybe a better tree harvester or something....Big win for Bilat Tukur. The Pendakar has had a long road to recovery, and looks to be on track for a title shot.... Gunnar took the horned one down with ease. He makes his job look fun and like recess, and mine enjoyable as he 'talks" to my color man Roe. He is certainly in the title picture again....Raze is a bit off, isn't he huh? Anyway the rematch with Shylock should be a good one. Hopefully it will last longer than six seconds... Hard loss for Terminus here. He was overwhelmed by Raze, He developed some offense late in the match, but he absorbed too much damage early on. Perhaps Terminus' best years are behind him?... Puma was on fire in the title fight. This marks his fifth win in a row. The Big Cat is on a roll here, and it is tough to see who will stop him. Gunnar, Silas and Rubicon, when he returns are all possible matches.... Mensar was caught flat footed several times in the match. It makes one wonder if he studied any tape of his opponent or just assumed he would win? ....Rubicon is purportedly healing up well, although this was divulged from close friend Mace... Thayne Sigursson is back in training and he will headline the POFC 17 card against Kenji "Eclipse" Yamshamito...More GWF representatives attempted to get into the Arena to decry the allowance of Koro "Rage" Taiaha competing. Head of Securtiy Vito "Massacre" Torre and his boys held them outside. One GWF wrestler became very violent at one point and Torre put his ass back in place. He complained about going to get some guy named Tom on Vito. Vito, to his credit, held back and only said, "Ah, whatevah! Whad da hell is he gonna do, kill me?"
Submission of the Night: Wayne "Amazing" Mann by reverse crucifix choke KO of the Night: Raze with a right hook Fight of the Night: A' Khas "the Leviathan" Fel defeats Gene "The Sloth" Cicelski.
POFC 16: It's A Long Way To The Top card:
Euritar (2-2) v Thomas KO Keller (0-1) Nero (1 -1) v Hideki "Pit Viper" Torune (0 -1) Taurine (1 -1) v Milhaus The Incredible Badgerer" Almedia (1-0) Excalibur (2- 2) v Ha'vel "Tantalis" Limdo (1-0) Special Challenge Match: Jack "Diamond" cardashan (0 -2) v Koro "Rage" Taiaha (3- 0) Silas Kharpetsev (3 -2) v Aleksander "The Czar" Romanov (0 -1) Number One Contender Match Dante Santangello (3- 2) v Pedro "The Stigma" Martinez
Chris "Archon" McCloud signing off!

The atmosphere was a abuzz with anticipation and question, as POFC President Niles "Prodigy" Stetson and Faustus Grael called a surpise press conference to be held in the Outlaw Arena three weeks before the POFC 16: It's a Long Way to the Top card. There were several different media people arranged in front of a large black curtain with the "POFC" logo inscribed on it. None of the assembled reporters had any idea what the reason for the press conference was.
After a few minutes and seemingly all of the reporters that would attend, President Prodigy Stetson and Faustus Grael walked out to stand in front of the gathered crowd. With no microphone or podium, the setting was pretty intimate. Prodigy spoke first:
"Thank you all for coming. I am sure you are all interested in why this press conference was called, and the main reason lies behind this curtain. But first, a bit of background -we know how you media types like all of the odd tidbits."
Grael stood off to the side, a self appreciative smile on his face, as Stetson continued. " When Grael first approached me with his plans to take the CPC and make it more based on martial science, less show and more fight; I was hesitant. The CPC had a good fanbase, and those fans loved their wrestling. We had a good thing going. So, yeah I was hesitant- I agreed to see how it went. Well, to say I surprised at what happened is.... the understatment of the millenium! The reactions of the fans and the athletes we have here was totally impressive and awesome: the new form of combat was not only accepted, but embraced, wholeheartedly. Fighters could focus on the opponent at hand not worry about cowardly attacks from behind or with weapons. The fans, well, the fans ate it up. We sell this arena out every show. So, after a bit more than a year, I", Prodigy turned to Grael and said this to him, out loud for all to hear, "am hooked on this stuff and am sorry I ever had doubted you."
Grael managed a quick nod and a dismissinve gesture, and urged Stetson continue.
"So, yeah, now here we are, a year and some later and where are we? The POFC is the top mixed martial arts company in the galaxy. We got tons of guys coming to us asking for one fight, one chance to prove thenselves. We will have all of the top fighters in here. We are gonna grow. We are gonna go to other arenas..... heh....I guess that is a small tidbit we did not mean to get out today, huh? Ha, but yeah we are going to try other worlds. I mean, come on, you telling me the Aethrans would not like to see us come to their neck of the galaxy? Ha ha.
"But to the matter at hand: Grael and I, we got tired of seeing fights get stopped and restarted due to our fighters getting caught up in the ring ropes, or unable to move form the corner. Tired of seeing our fighters spill out onto the floor after a wild attack. I'd hate to see an injury due to something silly like that. So Grael and I talked out a solution, and we have one, that will fix many of those problems."
At that, Stetson motioned to Grael, who grabbed two handfuls of the black curtain and said, " Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the new "ring" of the POFC : The Septagon!" Grael pulled the curtain down hard, and as it fell away, the media saw an interesting structure. I looked to be a mat enclosed by chain linked fence. The fence was approximately seven feet high, and had a large pad on top of it's circumference. The surfce are looked smalled than the traditional wrestling ring. It looked like a steel cage from the CPC wrestling days, almost. A great murmur of whispers came over the audience. Inside "The Septagon" were Vito Torre and Gene "The Sloth" Ciecelski, ready for what appeared to be a work out.
"Now", continued Stetson " what you see here is a answer to what we perceive as problems. The wrestling ring was an antiquated idea, and not conducive to the combat style the POFC has. No more will there be as many restarts, no more falling out of the ring. Boys?" Stetson looked at Torre and Ciecelski, and the two started to move around the ring a bit in what looked like a training session. " The object of the POFC fights is still the same: Beat your opponent by KO or submission. But now the strategy changes. There is no escape, no taking a breather by grabbing the ropes. The surface area for the mat is smaller, so the fighters will have to engage one another, making for more exciting fights. As you can see, the cage itself can be a weapon" as Torre clinch the Sloth and pushed him to the fence, and used it's spring to lift and slam the larger man "There will be no running. No corner breaks. We will truly see what each person is made of now.
"All of the fighters have been made aware of the change in fighting arena. Most are very excited. Some who are giving MMA a 'try' are not, so we expect to lose a few fighters. But that is fine- more are willing to take their place."
"So I am sure you have questions: lemme have 'em!"
Reporter #1: "Does the cage not make MMA, I dunno, more barbaric looking?"
Stetson: "AH the Million Dollar Question! No it does not. The wrestling ring, was made for a specific type of combat, be it professional styled wrestling or fistcuffs or kick fighting. The POFC combines all of those elemenst and needs a more dynamic arena for the kind of combat we have, Thus, the Septagon." Reporter #2: "Will the fighters not use the cage to their advantage?"
Stetson: "If they are smart, yes. Would you expect a wrestler not to use the ring and cut his opponent away from his manager or partner? The cage has certain benefits and hinderances that will be determined and exploited by our fighters. I firmly believe that this is the way to go, with an enclosed fighting area. The cage is the future of the POFC.?
Reporter #3: "Do you forsee more injuries with the cage?"
Stetson: " No, not really. The fence itself is made of adamantium and vibranium, making it very durable and very resistant to impact. This mix also gives it great bounce. The metal will be covered by a special silicon covering, so the snags that are on metal fencing will not tear at a fighter's flesh. The fence itself is not supposed to be grabbed at any time by a fighter, for offensive or defensive purposes. Fighters are not supposed to be thrown over the top of the fence- although even with our biggest fighters, that will be a terribly hard feat anyway."
.Reporter #4: "When will the cage be fiirst used?"
Stetson: "We plan on using it for POFC 17: Hand of Doom, when Thayne Sigurssen defends his title against Kenji "Eclipse" Yamashamito."
Reporter #4: "Man, Thayne must be excitted!"
Stetson: "That guy is frakking nuts! He was very happy when we told him. I am sure he'd be happy if we told him he had to fight a pride of tusked krusks. The guy just loves to fight."
Reporter #2: " So will the ring ever come back"
Stetson: " At this point, no. But I have learned never to say 'never'."
Reporter #1: "Could you comment on the confrontation with the GWF?"
Stetson: " Those guys a frakking bunch of pantywastes. Rage Taiaha severed ties with them, under his soverign's decree, and now they want a legal battle with us? Hey that guy shows up at my door ready to fight- am I gonna turn him down? He is gonna put asses in seats, man, so of course I am going to let him fight. Those GWF asshats need to get their crap straight. Their beef is with Aethra and the Minister of War, not us."
Reporter #5: "Can you tell us abbout the GWF's claim that..."
Stetson: " Ya know, I've probably said too much already. So I am done. Are there any more questions about the Septagon......... no. All right, then, thank you very much for your time."

As someone who speaks out loud for a living, I mark myself fortunate that I don't have to say "a pride of tusked krusks" into a microphone.
Nice press conference and setup for the format.
