(Lightning flashes overhead, illuminating the night sky; thunder rumbles distant...another flash of lightning, and a form is revealed standing atop a small hill...tightening in on the form, another flash reveals a Messiah...his eyes are as the flame of fire and he is clothed in tattered rags...another flash overhead reveals his head is wreathed by a crown of horns, and behind him waits an army as silent as the grave)


The day of Murdok's wrath has come...who shall be able to stand?

“Whoever holds the Essence, will hold a piece of the ultimate power required to control the fate of this Dimension.” - Nicodemus

In the days that followed the Great Summit word was received that the Holy War of this new a.C.e. would determine, by battles inside the ring, those who would hold the ESSENCE. The singles ESSENCE would be awarded to the man who could outlast his respective leaders, be the last man standing, the Champion. The tag ESSENCE would be given to the tag team that survived elimination where all others could not. Further, a battle royal, with each faction’s seconds, would further define each faction’s standing above all others. Finally, another battle royal; perhaps the most important, with each faction’s openers would determine which faction controlled the strategic advantage of planning the next event’s matches.

The Holy War has not ended…but the rules have changed…

…and this will be their BATTLEFIELD

(The arena seating was broken into four sections. Each faction was represented in one section with their own warriors so that one faction was on each side of the ring. The people of Centra could watch on holovision, this is War, not entertainment)


MISSION: FACTION BATTLE ROYAL - OPENERS
OBJECTIVE: WINNING FACTION GAINS MATCH-MAKING CONTROL FOR NEXT CARD
FORCES: GROVEL vs. ROUSER vs. NEMAN vs. NOXIOUS


GROVEL eliminated ROUSER very quickly with a Face Smothering
GROVEL turned around to meet NEMAN coming in with a Neckbreaker to eliminate him as well

(Noxious & Grovel face off & battle back & forth, bringing their sections of the arena alive as the battle intensified)

NOXIOUS turned the tide with OUTBREAK on GROVEL to win the match


RESULT: MURDOK’S CRUSADE CONTROLS ALL MATCH-MAKING ON NEXT CARD

MISSION: FACTION BATTLE ROYAL - SECONDS
OBJECTIVE: BRING HONOR & GLORY TO YOUR FACTION
FORCES: VENTROSS vs. LANCE AT-LAS vs. RANKOR vs. GODSEND


(This battle went back & forth & the entire arena was booming before the first elimination came nearly 15 minutes (actual) into the match)

VENTROSS eliminated LANCE AT-LAS with Ventross Vivisection
GODSEND eliminated RANKOR with THE REALM ETERNAL immediately following
VENTROSS dominated GODSEND & ended the embarrassment with another Ventross Vivisection

RESULT: VENTROSS WINS FOR THE RAVAGER FACTION

MISSION: a.C.e. TAG ESSENCE - ELIMINATION MATCH
OBJECTIVE: SECURE THE TREASURED ESSENCE AT ALL COSTS
FORCES: SPECIALISTS: SHEPARD & SCORCH vs. SWAT TEAM: WARFARE & FLATLINER vs. DARKNESS FALLS: KRYPT & JAKYLL vs. RESURRECTION: CORPORAL TEK & CREMATOR


(Chaos erupted immediately as everyone seemed to attack everyone else at the same time. One thing became clear quickly: Flatliner armor…WOW)

FLATLINER eliminated JAKYLL with SHOCK & AWE
SCORCH & SHEPARD eliminated KRYPT with SPECIAL FORCES

(Warfare tried to catch Scorch from behind as he eliminated Krypt with a clothesline from behind, but Scorch held on to the ropes & stayed on the ring apron. Scorch slid back inside, dusted himself off & blindsided Warfare)

SCORCH eliminated WARFARE with THE TRAILBLAZER

(For the first time all night the ROC had something to cheer for, that is until Murdok’s Crusade trampled all over their short lived parade)

CORPORAL TEK eliminated SHEPARD with CORPORAL PUNISHMENT
CORPORAL TEK eliminated SCORCH with a clothesline off the top rope

(Watching all of this transpire, Flatliner only smiled. Murdok’s Crusade erupted as they realized that their team was on the fast track to the ESSENCE. Alas, Flatliner had other plans for Resurrection)

FLATLINER destroyed CORPORAL TEK with SHOCK & AWE
FLATLINER destroyed CREMATOR with SHOCK & AWE


RESULT: NEW CHAMPIONS - SWAT TEAM - FLATLINER & WARFARE

MISSION: a.C.e. ESSENCE TITLE - LAST MAN STANDING
OBJECTIVE: SECURE THE TREASURED ESSENCE AT ALL COSTS
FORCES: MURDOK vs. AEGIS vs. NICODEMUS vs. PAGANAX


(Before the match could begin, after all four men were in the ring, a slender figure shuffled her way down to the ring…she was Trisis. The effect her appearance caused distracted Aegis in horror & gave Murdok the opening he was hoping for)

MURDOK surprised AEGIS with a CENTRA TAKEOVER from behind.
PAGANAX started a rampage & crushed MURDOK with PAGAN VOID
PAGANAX continued with a face-lock slam on NICODEMUS
PAGANAX picked up AEGIS for another PAGAN VOID
PAGANAX punished MURDOK further with Face Smothering

(At this point the crowd tribes of Primus began to riot in their section, which distracted the Heathen Chief & allowed someone else to take control of the match)

MURDOK came back to hit NICODEMUS with POWER OF THE PLAGUE
AEGIS got a measure of revenge on MURDOK with RAMPART’S REVENGE
PAGANAX swatted AEGIS aside with Primal Scream
NICODEMUS surprised PAGANAX with NUCLEAR WINTER
AEGIS continued to have tunnel-vision only for MURDOK with another RAMPART’S REVENGE
AEGIS dropped PAGANAX when he got in the way with RAMPART’S REVENGE
PAGANAX quickly repaid the insult with PAGAN VOID on AEGIS
PAGANAX picked up AEGIS again & delivered another PAGAN VOID
MURDOK added further insult with CENTRA TAKEOVER on AEGIS
NICODEMUS nailed MURDOK with NUCLEAR WINTER
AEGIS turned PAGANAX into a Centra Spinebuster
MURDOK continued the punishment on PAGANAX with a CENTRA TAKEOVER

(Currently, Aegis is bleeding very badly & looks to be on wobbly legs. Murdok is avoiding Paganax like the plague itself & is bleeding as badly as Aegis. The Heathen Chief has many cuts on his body but seems unaffected by them in any way. Nicodemus has avoided the least amount of damage thus far & is looking in prime position to secure the ESSENCE)

PAGANAX nailed AEGIS once again with PAGAN VOID
TRISIS distracted AEGIS & allowed MURDOK to hit a Head Spear Takedown
PAGANAX was angered by this intrusion & nailed MURDOK with PAGAN VOID

(While Paganax was distracted with Murdok, Nicodemus snuck in & eliminated Aegis)

NICODEMUS hit AEGIS with NUCLEAR WINTER
NICODEMUS finished AEGIS with a Fusion Bomb (Aegis is eliminated)
MURDOK fights back against PAGANAX with a piledriver
NICODEMUS steps in & receives a PAGAN VOID from PAGANAX for his trouble
MURDOK takes NICODEMUS down hard with a Murdok Power Bomb
PAGANAX picks up NICODEMUS & slams him down again with a decimating choke slam
MURDOK picks up NICODEMUS again & nails a Head Spear Takedown
Not wanting to share the spotlight any longer, PAGANAX nails MURDOK with PAGAN VOID
PAGANAX punishes NICODEMUS further with a Roaring Elbow
MURDOK rises in time to receive yet another PAGAN VOID from PAGANAX
NICODEMUS tried to finish MURDOK but ate a piledriver instead

(At this point Paganax is the only man on his feet, he raises both arms into the air, lays back his head, and roars towards his tribesmen)

PAGANAX finished MURDOK with a decimating choke slam over the top rope & onto the floor in front of his faction. (Murdok is eliminated)

PAGANAX finished NICODEMUS with the PAGAN VOID and put a foot to the Ravager leader’s head for a little shove to ensure he was out (Nicodemus is eliminated)

(Paganax is barely winded it seems & takes the Essence and wears it around his neck like a necklace, faces his tribesmen & roars again with his arms raised…this time with the Essence…this time in victory)


RESULT: NEW CHAMPION - PAGANAX

SCENE: R.O.C. HEADQUARTERS

(Aegis is trashing the area, throwing anything not bolted down around the room. Scorch is sitting on top of the only table not overturned smoking his cigar. Rouser is sitting in the corner with his knees pulled up under his chin. Shepard has just finished loading his pistol & chambers a round)

Aegis (screaming): “I will get him! I swear he will pay for what he has done to my Trisis!”

(Scorch looks over to Shepard expectantly)

Shepard: “What is your command Aegis?”

Aegis (screaming): “I don’t care what you do Shepard! I want the horned head of that mummified bastard!”

Scorch: “Murdok seemed happy enough to fight ya in the ring.”

Aegis (screaming): “Don’t ever speak that damned name in my presence again! Do you understand me?!”

Shepard: “We must plan our next move Commander. The R.O.C. needs you.”

(Aegis stops for a moment & starts to sob. He sinks to the ground & covers his eyes as sobs rack his body)

Shepard: “Come my friends. Let us give Aegis a few moments alone.”

(They all rise & leave the room together)

SCENE: RAVAGER MOTHERSHIP

(Nicodemus is sitting in his command chair. Beside that chair, Ventross stands at parade rest, his head held high. Flatliner & Warfare spar before them back & forth. The tag ESSENCE is nowhere to be seen)

Nicodemus: “I am proud of you both my SWAT TEAM. You performed exactly as expected.”

(Both men stop their sparring for a moment & bow towards Nicodemus)

Nicodemus: “Ventross, I am also proud of you for your performance. You brought honor to the Ravagers with your victory, but I would like for you to focus more upon the traitorous snake Rankor in our next enguagement.”

(Ventross bows his head slightly in acknowledgement)

Nicodemus: “I underestimated this Heathen Chief. Perhaps the influence of Rankor is deeper than I anticipated.”

Ventross: “Ancient One, The Plague Bringer has the power to book the next battles. The serpent at his side will surely guide his hand.”

Nicodemus: "Do not focus solely upon the next battle Ventross. A War is many battles, over many years. I do not expect us to win or lose this fight with the results of but one conflict."

(Neman enters from a side portal eating something & Ventross snaps at him)

Ventross: “Neman! You are out of uniform! You do not eat on the command deck! Stand at attention!”

(Neman snaps to as near attention as possible while holding onto his food)

Nicodemus: “Go easy Ventross. This one will be the key to this War. Leave him be.”

SCENE: MAGMA POOLS OF PRIMUS

(The Heathen Chief Paganax is lounging in a bubbling pool of lava. Grovel stands across his Chief at proud attention. Rankor sits quietly a small distance from the pool & looks about to retch. Krypt & Jakyll are alongside the pool, but they are both on their knees with their foreheads on the ground, in silent supplication)

Paganax: “I though the Krypt tribe & the Jakyll tribe were fit to join my faction. Now I am not so sure. Perhaps more punishment is what is necessary to receive the performance that I require from you. Now that I have this morsel of ESSENCE, I want it all.”

Rankor: “Perhaps, great Chief, you should come out of the lava pool.”

Paganax (snaps): “Be silent Rankor! When I want your council I will ask for it! I am enjoying a relaxing moment. I am savoring my victory.”

Rankor: “Great Chief, you wouldn’t want the ESSENCE damaged by your actions?”

Paganax: “What are you suggesting Rankor? That I am a fool?”

(Paganax stands up from the lava pool, letting the molten stone slowly drip from his body. Around his waist he still wears the glowing ESSENCE title. It is unmarked by the touch of the lava. Paganax steps through the pool & moves closer to Rankor & points a finger at him)

Paganax: “You should be in supplication Rankor like these two.”

(He indicates Krypt & Jakyll)

Rankor: “Do not ask me to bow Paganax. I am a Ravager, not one of your tribesmen.”

(Paganax steps out of the pool towards Rankor & Rankor gets to his feet)

Paganax: “You are my second. You will do as I command.”

Rankor: “I am your second. I will do what I think is reasonable. Even if that means the destruction of this very planet.”

(Paganax grabs Rankor by the throat & lifts him into the air)

Paganax: "Are you threatening me & my tribesmen Rankor?"

Rankor: "Mearly stating for you my potential."

(Paganax releases him & laughs aloud, clapping Rankor on the shoulder & returning to the lava pool)

SCENE: RUINS OF ANTILIA

(Murdok sits on a throne of hardened ash. Laying at his feet is the once beautiful form of his Zombie Queen Trisis. Godsend paces the floor several steps beneath them. Noxious, Corporal Tek & Cremator stand off to the side, unmoving)

Godsend: “…further, Aegis will be expecting you to face him in the ring to continue your affairs. That certainly should not be allowed to happen. We must do exactly what they would never expect. In order to control the direction of this War we must choose our battles very carefully. We must strike with certainty that each blow will gain us the most...”

(Murdok interrupts him)

Murdok: “A press conference has been called for later today to announce the pairings for the next battle. I have already made my decisions.”

Godsend: “What are those decisions?”

Murdok: “There is only one thing you need to know…my Queen has informed me that she will soon produce me an heir.”

(Godsend’s mouth hung open at the revelation. Murdok only laughed as he rubbed his Damned Queen’s belly)
