Simple answer is CM Punk...

Count me in the CM Punk camp. I thought it was ridiculous that John Cena said something like "he only beat me one time" as a defense for his claim to the title. I think it only takes one win to lay claim to the title ;D

CM Punk is the most logical choice to be the champion. Which is probably why WWE will end up having Cena be the champ.

I hope Punk wins at Summer Slam.

Oddly I'm torn on this. Basic booking logic says that Cena should go over at Summer Slam so that the feud can carry over for one more month. But doing so might also kill any interest in the Summer of Punk angle.
Since ratings haven't spiked as much as WWE had hoped for, I'm leaning toward Cena going over.. I'll keep my faith in WWE though and hope that they allow Cena to do a semi-heel turn as Triple H's reluctant corporate champion. There's still a lot of creative ways to tell the story before all of the "WWE's botching this like they botched the Invasion angle" argument really holds weight.

It's gotta be Punk going over. If they put the belt back on Cena anytime soon then they make CM Punk right...unless that's what they want to do, and if that's the angle they want to go for then I'd have to watch more. But if they put the belt back on Cena then bury Punk in favor of Alberto (like they burried Miz for...Punk?) then this is junk. The only real problem I have with this whole angle (besides the "he only beat me once" comment, cause look back a few weeks and he beat you clean on RAW) is that Cena seems to be changing up his match formula (you know the one..."I get my butt handed to me for 20 minutes or so then I swallow the Blue Pill and all of a sudden I'm Superman and win in 5 minutes or less") and his opponents earlier in the year (Miz, looking at you) didn't get that oprotunity. Not cool.

Not cool. Excellent points Vidtek and I totally agree with you on how The Miz was screwed by the tired "Superman" routine in losing that I Quit match a few months back. Let's hope Cena is really going to a new style of wrestling because he is certainly capable of it despite what his detractors have to say. Now watch, Punk will beat him up all night at SummerSlam only to lose in "five moves" at the end

Not cool. I'm going to HIDE a spoiler I read, so scroll over the hidden text to read the Spoiler and my Thoughts... The Wrestling Observer reports the SummerSlam WWE Title Winner will drop the belt to ADR so when the WWE travels to Mexico they have him as the WWE Champion for that Tour. I'm not sure if they'll have Cena win over Punk then lose to ADR or to have ADR win over Punk for the belt, I'm guessing Punk retains to lose the belt via cash-in by ADR, but we'll see if this is all true...

Figured this would be a squash for Punk, but I wanted to at least get a thread in the new forum to start the conversation!
