Well new management is already better than the old one with that deal alone.

We took the Rams. I was worried there would be not much of a market for Stafford. But we took the Rams better than Denver took Chicago a few years back. Goff has been up and down but he is a former #1 over all and some of his stats (TD to INT ratio, completion % and QBR) are on par with Stafford over their careers. With getting him we do not need to reach for a QB in this years draft. If no one really good left at 7 we can wait a year or two. We got TWO 1st round picks to swap QB's. I am excited to see what Goff does this year with his thumb healed up and a new system. If rumors of the Lions going after Chris Godwin are true and we get him and if Swift continues to improve we will have a great offense. So just need to focus on the D in FA and the draft. I can not believe it but I am really excited for the Lions going forward. This kind of trade is one other teams get not us.
I hope Stafford at least gets a playoff win if not winning a SB. By the way we play the Rams this year.

In addition to wanting to see Campbell beat the crap out of Patricia, I now have a longing to see Holmes take Bob Quinn's bat from him and pummel him with it. I'm not used to a staff that's actually competent and makes wise decisions!
Happy for Stafford (my all-time favorite player). I'll now be watching all the Rams games and hoping he gets a playoff win and then some! But the Lions won out on this too! The next couple years are going to be fun!

Just imagine if Sanders and Megatron had done what Stafford did. Go to management and say he wanted to be traded to a contender. Instead of them just retiring and we got nothing we could have got some draft picks and both men could have had longer careers and maybe won in the playoffs and even a SB.

So what do you guys think the Lions will/should do with their first pick? If they can resign Golladay and/or sign Godwin they should go after Kwity Paye. Put him on opposite side of Flowers and let them wreck havoc. Otherwise a WR to keep our offense humming.
I also think Detroit should keep an eye on what Miami does. If they look to move on from Tua Tagovailoa like some have suggested we should offer one of the Ram's picks we got for him. Goff for now, maybe we could flip him, and Tua for the future if not even the starter this year.

Lions continue to strong up the trenches by giving Frank Ragnow a 4-year extension, making him the highest paid center in the NFL. Brad Holmes has shown himself to be a total gangsta so far. I'm digging his hustle and flow.
In other news, the Lions are predicted to break an NFL record this coming season. First team to go 0-17. Let's roll! LOL.

I have like the moves they have made until they released Kerryon Johnson. I feel that was a mistake. He was underused last year. They basically signed Jamaal Williams to fill his role. A player that might have less an injury history but basically the same production with a higher price tag. Williams is getting in 2 years the same as Johnson was set to get for his four year rookie contract with us. I said all last year, especially when the playoffs were not in the picture, the Lions should have played Johnson more to see what they had in him. Well they might find out this year when he runs for Philly. I hope he is given a chance and shows what he can do.

Apparently Stafford is already hurt in LA. Smashed his surgically repaired thumb onto the helmet of one of his offensive linemen. Can’t say I’m surprised. Obviously wishing no ill on the guy but the lower that 1st rounder next year is the better.
