Watching the 49ers today I am thinking missing the playoffs was a blessing in disguise. We got to end our season on a high note with a win and feeling good going into the off season.

The Lions looked way better than their record this year. Eliminating the Packers was the cherry on top for the season

We may not be the same old Lions but it seems the media has the same old bias. ESPN did a story about some of the surprises of the season. In one part they talked about the Lions and Jaguars turnaround. Sure, they gave praise to the Lions but then went on to say the bigger story was the Jags. All because they went from worst to first. But they ignored that they had a worse record last season than the Lions by half a game. They had 3 wins, we had 3 wins and a tie. Only difference. As far as the playoffs, they ended up with the same record as the Lions. They made the playoffs by winning the division as the only team with a winning record. If we swapped divisions we would be in the playoffs and they would not. Same old Lions...bias. Well my man, you gotta hand it to the Jags for their awesome win last night (although I think you posted this before the game). I'd rather see our season end with an ass whipping of Green Bay than getting stomped by the 49ers. While sporting Lions gear, I've been approached by strangers FOUR times this past week offering me fist bumps and congrats. It used to be that they wanted to offer me a sympathy hug, LOL. The times they-are-a-(hopefully)-changin!

Well, here's a funny story from the weekend. I got home from the office on Friday night. Me and the family had dinner and then I watched SmackDown. I was amazed I made it through the entire show, as I usually conk out around 9 PM.
My wife and 11-year-old daughter went up to our bedroom to watch "Clueless" (we always try to show the kids 80's and 90's movies). So, I lay down with them and am looking on my phone (on the Lions Reddit page), when all of a sudden the volume shoots up to 100 and it goes to a commercial (streaming service) for "Adam & Eve" (yes, THAT Adam & Eve). Images of fun times and toys are on the screen with a woman saying (with 100 volume, mind you), "buy the toys that will make you say "ROAR!!!" while a guy scratches her back.
My wife is FREAKING OUT, trying to mess with the remote volume while covering our daughter's eyes. I'm laughing hysterically and our daughter is yelling "ROOOOOAAAARRRRR"!!!
So, we finally get the volume fixed, and 15 minutes later, the same scenario happens again! There was some sort of glitch with the volume, so here we are again, trying to shield my daughter from this adult content while she just keeps yelling "ROOOOOAAARR!!!" over and over again while giggling.
That was enough for my wife. She took our daughter downstairs to finish the movie, while all I could do to cope with the situation was somehow tie this into my Lions fandom, LOLOLOLOL.
I swear I'm not on drugs. This really happened, LOL! Thought you parents could relate!

Your daughter, not knowing what the commercial means, is roaring for the Lions. That is like Hollywood level writing of funny.

The times they-are-a-(hopefully)-changin! I do like how they scripted that game. They had the NFL darling Trevor tossing INTs like he was playing for the Chargers. Then he brings his team storming back for the win at the end of regulation. As some know, I work in a hotel and we had a few guests from Jacksonville staying with us. They were all upset over how the first quarter played out. They left the lobby to go to be while still in the first half. As I was leaving at the end of my day I checked the score and could not believe the Jags came back and won. I just knew they would wake up and go to check to see how bad they lost and would be flipping out lol.

I am liking some of the mock drafts I am seeing right now. Yes, I am looking at them already. I do it while at work during down time when I am bored. Ones I have seen include Bryan Bresee DL Clemson, Christian Gonzalez CB Oregon, Jordan Battle S Alabama and Noah Sewell LB Oregon in first two rounds. I would be happy with that haul.
It could be argued that when we talk about rookies that will help the team Jameson Williams name can be added into the mix. Yes he played some this year but not much. Only a few plays of significance. Next year will be his first full year. He is why I expect little if any drop off in offensive performance. He is a weapon that we can fully use next year.

I'm already tired of draft talk. Detroit sports radio won't shut up about scenarios. I know it helps kill time in the off-season but it gets old quickly. I start worrying about the draft about 10 minutes before it comes on TV. Then I'll watch Brad Holmes work his magic as usual!

I do not listen to sports talk anymore and even if I did it would be the Tampa market and be about the Bucs so I do not get burned out on it. I just check online evert 2-3 days and it lasts about 2-3 minutes and I have seen the newest guesses. Like I said, it kills time but also helps me get familiar with most of the top guys as I do not watch much college football anymore. By the way, ESPN ranked the 2022 rookie classes and they said the Lions had the 7th best rookie class based on performance so far.
