PWInsider.com is reporting that according to a source that reached out to book her, former WWE Diva Melina is asking for $3,000 per appearance as well as first class travel and hotel accomodations.
Does she really think she's that important, and that most indy companies can provide that?

An attitude like that was one of the reasons WWE let her go in the first place. But it's not like she'd need to work another day anyway, with JoMo supporting her even if she goes and cheats on him on the weekends when Morrison is traveling on the road.

It was reported earlier today that a promoter who reached out to former WWE talent Melina Perez to book her for an independent wrestling event was informed by her representative that she is asking for $3,000 per appearance, as well as first class travel and hotel accommodations. Reigning PWG World Champion Kevin Steen, who has competed on the independent circuit for over ten years, made fun of the former WWE Diva's reported asking fee. He wrote on Twitter, "$3000 plus first class air and hotel?! f...I've been charging way too little..."
A Twitter user then asked Steen, "Is there any real evidence that claim is accurate?" He responded, "Who cares?! I want to make fun of it. So it's true."
Ring of Honor talent Colt Cabana also lampooned Melina's reported demands, writing to Steen on Twitter: "My wrestling fee has now gone from 2 diet cokes and a cupcake to 3 bajillionfajillion dollars... Pay up promoters!"
Steen then wrote a message predicting that John Morrison will follow Melina's lead out of WWE and work indy shows alongside her. He wrote to Cabana: "I think that once her boyfriend gets released, promoters can save on (transportation) and book both of them. She'll just ride with him."
Anarchy Championship Wrestling promoter Darin Childs also gave his take on the matter, writing on the microblogging website, "As a promoter I should never do things like this, buuuut can we all LOL together at Melina's appearance demands?"
Meanwhile, Melina garnered numerous messages today on her Twitter account regarding the claim and privately indicated to some users that it is untrue.

Why does Melina insist on flying first class to her Indy bookings? I personally don't care if I ever fly first class air. I have an IPad and I use it to watch movies and listen to pod casts while I am flying. During that time, I never even worry about my flight status.

For all its limitations, I think the old Apter Mags were more effective at positively promoting product and talent than social media nonsense like this. Kayfabe at least tried to give fans the illusion that wrestlers were larger than life stars, with the rest left to the imagination. Today, talent themselves will often publicly rip each other over issues that don't draw a dime, and make everyone come off looking worse after the latest round of 'twits'. Welcome to the world we now live in - where EVERY SINGLE DAY OF OUR LIVES, a new "Twitter" or social media story goes up somewhere (often times, several). Everyday SOMEONE is making news (negative news) with Twitter. I want to support all wrestlers, but seriously -- why is Kevin Steen and Colt Cabana taking shots at Melina? I'm no Melina fan at all. But she's done a lot more in the business than either of them combined. I kind of think it makes them look worse than her. Especially if the news surrounding her turns out to be false.

I don't think it makes them look worse. Just being a smart ass. Nothing worse then if Lettermen or Leno did it.

I don't think it makes them look worse. Just being a smart ass. Nothing worse then if Lettermen or Leno did it. I think it's different because wrestlers usually look out for each other. Late night TV talk show hosts make a living other people's lives apart. And it's not so much that they said it, it's that they used Twitter like two 15 year old girls to say it. Like, let's make her feel bad by saying it in public. That's what chicks do. Not guys. Say it but say it in private over beers. Not like a couple of kids picking on the girl in pigtails during lunch hour.

I think they view Melina as an outsider in regards to her being in the WWE. "Not one of the boys"

It's like I have always said.
You can't spell Twitter without Twit.
