NEW ONLINE GAME TABLE (w/ MULTIPLAYER) THIS FRIDA

THIS FRIDAY (9/23), the NEW Game Table with Multiplayer will be FREE TO PLAY for all Promoters!

Regardless of what Online game editions you own, there will be *16* total character cards to play with (8 COTG guys, 8 LOW guys). We've got a good mix of singles and tag teams too, so you'll notice a nice setup to run tournaments if you so choose.

The actual time on Friday in which this "Alpha Test" goes live is yet to be determined, but we will send out another mass PM and make a post here on the boards to alert you. We'll also be sending out a few simple instructions at that time that will tell you step-by-step where to go and what to do in order to use the new Game Table.

PLEASE NOTE: This "Alpha Test" will be live for 3 DAYS ONLY (throughout the weekend) -- so we encourage EVERYONE to log-in and play in order to help us test! And you DON'T HAVE TO REPORT ANYTHING TO US IN ORDER TO TEST! Play with your friends, play alone, just play! We'll do all the work!

These message boards are a great place to set-up times in which to meet your friends Online and have some Multiplayer matches. Osk, BDS, and some of the new "Ambassadors" will be hanging around Online in the new Chat Lobby (the place you go right before creating a Game Table and playing out matches) throughout the weekend as well.

• While the new Game Table will eventually work on all browsers, during this "Alpha Test" the ONLY BROWSER that the Game Table will work properly on is MOZILLA FIREFOX. • Another program that is NOT NECESSARY, but might improve your Multiplayer experience is SKYPE. This FREE voice-chat program is a way for two users to speak and listen to one another as they play COTG or LOW using the Multiplayer feature on the new Game Table. Again, you do not need Skype in order to play, but being able to actually talk to your opponent certainly doesn't hurt! You can download Skype for FREE here:

This is awesome news! I do have one question though.

Is the gameTable going to cost money again, or do those of us with editions already purchased still have access after it goes live officially?

The FREE TO PLAY for all promoters has me wondering.

Nope. There are no plans to charge anything additional to use the Game Table. It will remain "FREE TO PLAY" when it goes live in late October.

I have gotten to play test this baddie and I must say that it is awesome. I enjoyed the old one, but this one is much more sleek and improved...I think people will be happy with it. The multi-player runs smoothly and I can't wait to really get it going and play vs. others online.

I will be hanging around tonight if anybody wants to play a match, I just did a match on my own, and I love the new table.

I like the new set up, with the exception of the moves not showing up over top of the artwork. As a long time player, for me it's quicker to play when the moves pop up in typical format, knowing their location on the card makes matches go much quicker. Is there anyway this could be an option like it is on online currently? I'm just not a fan of rolling, then looking to the right to see the result. I think it will greatly lengthen the time it takes me to play a match.

The short answer is 'no.'

The long answer is that it's necessitated by the move away from Flash to a straight HTML presentation. By making that move, we lost a few of the bells and whistles (that aspect of presentation and the rolling dice, most notably), but in return have something with functional multiplayer that works on all four of the major browsers along with smartphones and tablets. It's a trade that made perfect sense to me as a developer, and I think that with time, most people will get used to the difference in the systems.

However, the old Game Table isn't going anywhere. It won't getting updated or maintained, but it's not going to disappear, either, at least not for a while and not without significant (like months in advance) warning. So if the old Game Table works for you, you'll still be able to use it for quite some time.
